Ottawa has needed a space like this for a long time. Always Knew isn’t just another wedding boutique. It’s thoughtful, inclusive, and designed with so much care.

So many of my clients tell me how hard it is to feel seen in traditional boutiques. The sizing is limited. The atmosphere can feel intimidating. And trying things on often feels more discouraging than exciting. Always Knew is the exact opposite.

It’s by appointment only, so you can take your time and actually enjoy the process. Every gown comes in two sizes, which means more people can try things on comfortably. The change rooms are huge. The accessory selection is stunning. And every designer is Canadian, which I absolutely love.

This space feels like it was built for real people with real stories. It’s modern, calm, and welcoming in all the ways that matter. Ottawa really needed this, and I’m so glad it’s here.

I had the most wonderful experience at Always Knew I Needed! From the moment I walked in, I felt so welcomed and taken care of. Abby was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely excited to help me find my dress. She really listened to what I was looking for, offered thoughtful suggestions, and made the whole process so much fun and stress-free.

I am wedding photographer, so I've had the opportunity to get to know Abby and Lizzie, the owners of Always Knew I Needed, and they are such wonderful powerhouse humans! I haven't had the opportunity to shop at this new store, but when I first walked in during the opening event, I knew it was going to be an amazing space for brides to find their dresses.

The bridal shop is bright, spacious, and so so welcoming. The decor is CUTE as heck (picture bows.. everywhere). And they carry Canadian designers, which is so important during these times. The staff at Always Knew I Needed are also so welcoming, and so fun, you really can't go wrong with checking out this store when searching for your dress - or even accessories!

This store was by far the best dress shopping experience I had in Ottawa! Lizzie was kind enough to open Always for us after we didn’t find quite what we were looking for at NKIN - I wasn’t sure what to expect but was blown away by the dresses at this store! The selection of Canadian designs is absolutely stunning, every single dress in the store was gorgeous, and they all come in 2 sizes to try on which is incredible. Lizzie was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, most of the dresses can be completely customized to your taste and she did a great job explaining all the options and finding examples of each thing. Every single thing she pulled for me was better than every other dress I’ve tried on elsewhere!

Outside of the selection, Lizzie also did a great job making us feel comfortable, explaining fabrics, helping understand different elements, and just contributing to making it an enjoyable experience. I highly recommend checking this spot out if you’re in the market for a wedding dress!

Brittany is amazing! For our recent wedding, Avenue Accents supplied our incredible geometric triangle arch accents. I have never seen anything like this and it really stood out for both our photos and as a unique eye-pleasing centre piece for our wedding ceremony. We also rented a champagne wall for a fun way for our guests to find their seating places. Of course, our guests loved this! Avenue Accents has a great selection of stunning statement pieces perfect for weddings and special events. Highly recommended!

Brittany is one of the most kind and unique people we have ever met. She is a huge community spirit with a smile that has no end and a laugh that fills a room with a comforting vibe! OH and she is also the beautiful brains behind Avenue Accents! Honestly, such a great experience working with Brittany, I showed her a picture of an arch I really wanted for our wedding and she loved it so much that she got it custom built For me and then only charged me to rent it. It was absolutely perfect and exactly what I wanted. I was blown away by how magnificent it looked! Very happy with everything to do with this company!

The kind lady here helped me find my gorgeous green dress in June just in time for my prom :) she was so sweet and informative about colour theory and uplifting your mood while being honest if something don’t look that good. This store has a multitude of sizes for everyone and considering this was the first shop I walked into, I can say I left very happy as a plus sized person.

The representative is well mannered and courteous always ready to help and get satisfied.

Recently visited Caftan Kaftan with my sister and got exceptional service from the owner. From the second we walked in we got a warm welcome and very courteous and caring service. She helped us find the right caftans for our event and worked around our needs/preferences. Throughout, she was very attentive to detail and helpful in any way she could be. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for beautiful caftans as there is a great selection of colours and sizes (plus size friendly) and they are very budget friendly.

Honestly, if you live in the Montreal area and are looking to buy a caftan this is the best place to go, me and my friend we're on the hunt of a perfect caftan with a reasonable price and no place had as many options and good prices as this place! Caftan Kaftan had a whole section for renting and whole section for buying, and the prices were more than reasonable compared to other stores we looked at! The owner is super sweet and humble, she doesn't hog over you, rather she gives you your space and lets you look around and choose the dresses that might interest you to try them on and see which one you like the best! She also genuinely cares for her customers and their needs. She also offered us free bracelets at the end even after we offered to pay for them! If you are looking for a caftan store who has reasonable prices and were you will feel a 100% conformable Caftan Kaftan is the place to go!

I went with my son last week we got a warm welcoming from the owner’s mom as she was busy preparing for the opening that morning she left everything behind to help us. Although she was busy, her priority was to make sure we were more than satisfied. She gave us a great service and we are very pleased with our purchase. We are definitely planning on going back not only to experience her excellent service but also for the quality and the styles she has, which are up to date with prices that are very reasonable.

Racquelle and her team went above and beyond in ensuring that I had the last Lennon Bridal Robe and that it was exquisitely done just for me and my wedding day. I cannot recommend Daphne Newman enough to anyone who's looking for a statement piece for their wedding day.

I’d been to a number of other boutiques and bridal stores that carried only a fraction of the sizes and styles. Her prices are very reasonable and she was SO knowledgeable and professional. She also does her own alterations and was able to make changes on the dress I chose to turn it into my dream dress, unique to me!
I came from out of province and called days before planning the trip and she was able to fit me in even during her busy prom season! She was extremely friendly and SO accommodating (even letting me come back after hours to try the dress on again before I purchased and headed back home)!

Can't say enough good things about this shop! Dawn-Ann was lovely and really took the time to understand what I wanted- after going to other bridal stores, this was the first place where I got the bridal fitting that I'd imagined. She has hundreds of dresses, so much selection and all of good quality. The amount of selection on the $500 rack was extraordinary. I did not remotely have to compromise on price, quality, uniqueness... I didn't have to even look at dresses out of my price range. Dawn-Ann is, in her own right, extraordinary. I remember when I first called Antoinette, she sounded so nice on the phone that I immediately wanted to meet her in person. I was in the early stages of shopping for my wedding dress and I ended up falling in love with one of her gowns. After trying on a few dresses we were able to create a unique look inspired by her designs. I was nervous about doing something custom at first but Antoinette was very reassuring. Antoinette was amazing every step of the way. She is patient, a good listener and solution oriented. Antoinette and her team made all my wedding dress dreams come true. When I had started to look I honestly wasn't sure what I wanted. She really took the time to have my try on many beautiful gowns and eventually designed a custom dress that really made me feel like my most beautiful self. The whole process from choosing the dress to to final fittings was a pleasure.

Di Carlo Couture is conveniently located in the heart of Little Italy, Montreal. Antoinette Di Carlo is a master of her craft and a seasoned fashion designer. The moment I got engaged, I knew right off the bat she would be my go-to dress designer. I've inquired with Antoinette back in late 2018 for my wedding dress and had multiple fittings with her in 2019. For every fitting appointment, she was attentive to details, very personable and truly understands my needs/wants. Whenever I had questions, she would share her expertise and reassure my doubts. I must say, I am one of the lucky ones to have Antoinette design and custom make my dream dress. I can't thank her enough and hopefully, in the near future, I can get Antoinette to design my dress again for my vow renewal ;)

Just got my dress in the mail, and WOW, I am amazed by the quality! I was super nervous about ordering online since it was final sale, but the girls at Dream & Dress were so helpful. They sent me pictures of different colors, helped me pick the right one, and made sure I got the perfect size.

From the moment I seen her work at the bridal show in September 2024, I fell in love and had to reach out to get more information.

However, after I reached out, Gizem and I had our first initial phone call to discuss my vision for the dress which was so helpful.  We than had our subsequent in-person meeting to explore fabrics, laces, etc.. Once that was sorted out, Gizem then took my measurements, and that's when the magic truly began and that is when I knew I was in the hands of the sweetest, most understanding, unique, and incredibly creative custom designer ever.

I really appreciated the daily updates from her and her team on the progress of the dress. With each step, I was increasingly delighted as I saw my vision come to life. The dress is everything I imagined and more.

She helped me try on so many beautiful dresses from their collection! I loved the colours, fabrics, styles, and overall quality. The store owners, two lovely ladies, were incredibly kind and welcoming. They offered us drinks during our visit and patiently allowed me to browse and try on as many dresses as I liked. I love love love this boutique - tried on several dresses and all were high quality and beautiful. Especially loved that HerCloset provides a kind of Say Yes To The Dress bridal consultation feel to every appointment. The space is luxurious, and Ege was very attentive and astute with helping me pick styles that would suit my body type. There’s a LOT of variety & whilst I personally ended up finding my dream ‘princess running barefoot through fields’ vibe, you could def find also sexy, classy, or prom pretty! Would 100% recommend!

We had a wonderful trip. Shelly Neal did an impressive booklet to go along with our recent cruise so we knew exactly what to expect on board and at port each day. Anita at Kalidescope travel was so helpful. We wanted to experience a stay at an over water bungalow resort. Anita’s suggestion and attention to what we wanted was right on. Our view was magical from our bungalow and the resort and staff were amazing.

The trip was fantastic! The condo was amazing with the most spectacular views. We could see whales and sea turtles from our balcony! I loved the area we were in and the beach access from our condo! The sunsets were breath taking each night! All travel and flights worked very well.

I had such a wonderful experience at Lea-Ann Belter Bridal in Toronto, and it was all thanks to Vanessa and her team. From my very first appointment, she made me feel so at ease. Vanessa is a total perfectionist in the best way. She worked with me to create a custom gown using the top of one dress and the bottom of another—and it turned out even better than I imagined. She added buttons and made sure every single detail was just right before I flew back to Ireland. Nothing was too much trouble for her.

THE BEST WEDDING DRESS EXPERIENCE!

This isn't your typical salon where there are multiple brides and multiple appointments going on at once and you don't order your dress in your closest size and take it to get altered. This is truly a one stop shop with the most personal experience you could have.

The salon is beautiful and it is just you, your closest family and friends and Vanessa. She is so amazing and makes sure you are taken care of and really listens to you. She makes your vision come to life and does everything she can to make the dress of your dreams. All the dresses are absolutely stunning and they have such variety that they can fit everyone's style and if not there is so much customization available. I knew from my first visit that even if I didn't find a dress at Lea-Ann Belter in Toronto that I would make it work and find a dress just so I could work with Vanessa.

Once we chose the dress of my dreams, all the try on appointments were so wonderful. They make the dress to fit you and do all changes and alterations in house. Seeing the dress come alive is an amazing experience and you work with Vanessa every step of the way.

I don't even know where to start. I spent so long looking for my wedding dress with no luck until I stumbled upon Lea-Anne Belter. I shared my likes and dislikes for my wedding dress with Vanessa, the bridal consultant who she was able to pick out the most perfect dress for me (it even had a slit and pockets!). I was in good hands with Vanessa, who was extremely kind, knowledgeable and experienced.
The alterations and veil were done in house which was lifesaving given that I found the dress less than 6 months before the wedding.

I was so honoured to be a Lea-Ann Belter bride and I could not have had a better experience! I visited 5 bridal salons across Toronto and had hands-down the best experience at Lea-Ann Belter. Vanessa, the bridal consultant, was so knowledgeable, kind, and patient. I looked forward to every appointment I had! I was able to create a custom gown combined from two of the in-store gowns, embellish it exactly how I wanted, and was able to include my Mom's bow from her 1990 wedding dress, which they handled so carefully and it looks like it was made for the gown! I had 5 fittings with them to get the perfect fit, and was able to tweak every element of the dress, including adding pockets, to create exactly what I had envisioned. They provided the sweetest goodie bag for becoming an LBB bride, and the dress was arranged so well for my travel to the wedding out of town. They also included extra Swarovski crystals to replace any that got damaged during the day. The pricing was the best I've seen across bridal salons and it means so much to me that the dresses are created locally in Toronto. With so many beautiful and unique off-the rack gowns, and the ability to customize anything, I have no doubt that every bride can find her dream dress here. Plus you'll have the best, most uplifting, experience ever!

Such a wonderful experience at Lovenote Bride - Ottawa!

I have been following Lovenote on social media for a while and had looked at the gowns online multiple times, and I am so happy that I booked an appointment during a trip to Ottawa. The customer service is amazing; Lara made sure to make me feel comfortable every step of the way, had great advice and was super understanding. The boutique is magical and I felt pretty in all the gowns. I love how you can customize, and mix and match bodices and skirts, and fabrics. I was lucky to buy a sample dress, and the discount was greater than what I've seen in other boutiques for sample dresses. Also, the instructions for caring for the dress were so detailed, they really exceeded my expectations!

I recommend to all brides, but especially to those who may have struggled with their body image or have had challenging previous wedding dress shopping experience(s), because for me, Lovenote is not only where I bought my wedding dress, but also where I managed to embrace my body and feel beautiful.

I brought my wedding dress to her after the first place I brought it for alterations messed up my dress. She was able to squeeze me in one month before my wedding and fix all of the issues with my dress. Without her my dress would have looked awful.
