My friends and I were window shopping on Monday August 11th and were curious as to where the staircase next to Boutique 1861 would lead to. We soon learnt that it lead to Boudoir 1861, the bridal sister shop of Boutique 1861. We arrived close to closing time, but the two female staff were very kind and accomodating. Upon entering my eyes kept wandering to one of the dresses on a mannequin. The staff help in making sure it fit well and suited my needs, which convinced me to make the purchase. Thank you again for the friendly and welcoming customer service! Especially as a younger group it was greatly appreciated.

I had an awesome and personal experience with the boutique’s patient and helpful staffs! A special thanks to Mireille, who lingered and always asked how she can help. She even provided recommendations on how to best wear the dress I ended up choosing. Thank you to Raman as well for packing my dress suitably for travel and for recommending jewelry. It has been a great wedding dress shopping experience! :)

Yasmine is a genius! Lustre was recommended to me for my bridal outfit by two different people that I trust implicitly, so it was obvious where I was going to go. I tried on a few dresses at some big dress shops but nothing felt right. When I met with Yasmine for a consultation, it was like magic, she was putting me in this skirt and then that top etc., and the resulting design was a total collaboration between the two of us. The whole process to trying on the final outfit was so unbelievably easy, especially since I trusted Yasmine completely. I was so entirely enamored with the final outfit, I felt so totally me just elevated, exactly what I had dreamed of. I was comfortable all night too! I can't wait to get the outfit dyed so I can wear it again!

When I first found Boutique Lustre on instagram I was stuck on what I wanted for my wedding. Yasmine’s friendly posts and passion for her art really sold me on a visit. I’m so glad I walked in years ago, because it was an absolute dream to work with her. The team is kind, thoughtful, and supportive in your vision and how you feel in the dress. My wedding dress was beautiful, colourful, and comfortable!! Highly recommended for wedding and other occasions.

I've been buying pieces from Lustre's regular collections for year, and love them and wear them nearly daily BUT this is a review specifically for Lustre's bridal work. Yasmine is a genius and her whole team is fantastic. My wedding outfit was a bit of a project - altering a vintage family dress to be a skirt, and then creating a top to match. Prior to visiting Boutique Lustre, I was struggling to find a Canadian wedding dress in my budget. I ended up trying on dress after dress that felt plasticky and cheap despite the huge price tag. Working with Yasmin was an incredible experience. She knows her dresses!! We tried many different combinations of material, tops and bottoms to create the dress of my dreams. My dress was simple, romantic and timeless thanks to Yasmin. The material was silk backed crepe which feels like BUTTER. On the hanger it feels heavy, but Yasmin knows just how to cut it to make it float as you walk. I had two fittings and picked up the dress about a month from the wedding date.
I sadly don't have a picture of the night before the wedding, but I also wore a dress from Boutique Lustre. I have loved getting to know Yasmin and her shop and I know I will be a customer for life!

For any bride looking for a simplified, relaxed, yet completely unique and special wedding dress experience, you need to get to this wonderful shop! Yasmine is a true master of her craft and seemed to understand my vision better than I did! She worked on a short timeline, was very professional, and went above and beyond to create a look that felt absolutely perfect for me!

I chose my dress at Dream It Yourself boutique after initially marking it as my "wild card" store as it had the most unique dresses and was at the higher end of my budget. From the very beginning it was a top-notch store, with an extensive range of styles and incredible customer service from Laeticia. She was an absolutely wonderful stylist with amazing energy and the sweetest personality. It was thanks to her that she found my dream dress as it wasn't one I had seen online and she made sure everything came together perfectly for it! After having received my wedding pictures back, I'm reminded again how happy I am to have gone to this store, as I felt so beautiful in this dress and Laeticia's attention to detail and hands-on care during the fittings helped make it all come together and truly solidified my choice! If you come to this store, I hope you have the pleasure of working with Laeticia as well. :)

We had been to a handful of boutiques looking for my wedding dress. Unfortunately our experience at DIY left a sour taste in our mouths. We were happy it wasn't our first appointment trying on dresses because after our appointment here it tainted the experience. There was a strong language barrier with our bridal stylist. We even tried our best to accommodate them but there was no effort on their part and it made the whole appointment awkward and that we were bothering her. We also found she wasn't organized and didn't know any of the inventory. It was also frustrating to look at the dresses on the rack and not know the prices. We kept having to ask "how much is this one". The owner or what appeared to be the owner was friendly and was helping the lady next to us and sounded like they were having a blast. Just wish our experience could of been the same.

Unfortunately, I did not have the best experience at this store. There is nothing wrong with the store in itself and the staff. In fact, the store was beautiful and the consultant assigned to me was very nice. I also have nothing to say about the variety of dresses. However, I felt like the sizing was not very inclusive. Many of the dresses that the consultant pulled out did not fit at all. Some of them were ripped and damaged, probably by the previous girl who tried to squeeze herself in it. I would consider myself mid-size. I think i kinda felt in between their "normal" selection and their plus size selection. I could tell the consultant was uncomfortable and empathetic that i could not even get inside most of the dresses. The reviews for this place are so good! I wish I had a similar experience as everybody else 💔 I'm not saying you shouldn't go to this place. I think it's definitely worth a try, but I wish I had read a review from someone who had the same experience so I could at least be mentally prepared.

I had a great experience at DREAM IT yourself. This intimate boutique was appreciated after being overwhelmed by the high volume of people in the St-Hubert St bridal stores.

Elisa was my bridal stylist and upon arrival, she went through all the gowns they had and the different styles the designers were going for. I made Elisa aware I was most likely not buying my dress from DIY as I wanted to buy near my hometown and my purpose of the visit was to see what style I liked stress-free and she was very understanding! She pulled a lot of beautiful dresses and it helped me narrow down what style I was set on doing. The price point of their dresses is very affordable as well. If I didn't find a dress in my hometown I would have for sure done the trip back and forth to purchase the dress at DIY :)

Before my appointment, Kennedy reached out to have a better understanding of the dress I was looking for, she was very sweet! On the day of my appointment I was amazed with the bridal shop layout and I enjoyed the space and aesthetic of it all. On top of that, Lesley was very kind and informative. She got me to try on a dress that wasn't my style, and it ended up being the dress that I loved! Thank you Ankita!

I love the personalized sign upon entry, super cute idea. The change room was also set up nicely with the stand in the curtained off area. I do wish we got champagne or some other welcome beverage, however not sure if this is the norm for bridal stores as I didn't receive any champagne at the 1st place I tried either! I just thought this place was a bit fancier and would have that- just some feedback!

Otherwise, I will absolutely recommend this place to future brides :)

Last year, I reached out to Jim Searle at Hoax Couture with a drawing of a dress I had designed for my wedding. He was very responsive and communicative straight away. We chose fabric together and he worked with me for months to create the dress of my dreams. This time included overseeing the creation of custom embroidery, which was outsourced. The dress was tailored to perfection in the end and fit like a glove. I would highly recommend their services!

The folks at Hoax Couture was incredible to work with and we couldn't have been happier with the end result! They made both my husband's tuxedo and my dress for our wedding, and they were exactly what we had hoped for. Our guests were complimenting their work all night. Thank you guys so much, the night wouldn't have been the same without you!

My daughter and I had a wonderful experience with Jim and Chris at Hoax. We were looking for dresses for my other daughter’s wedding and everything was fussy, heavy and needing major alterations to fit (I am short and round!). Jim is so kind and calm that the process was really enjoyable. We came away with two beautiful, simple but elegant dresses. Rest assured simple does not mean plain! Jim helped us choose beautiful fabrics, listened to our wish list and then he and Chris added special details to create interest without adding fussiness. I would never have chosen the fabric he guided us to on my own, but we both ended up with comfortable, light weight dresses in stunning materials. We are so happy with the results and looking forward to wearing our special dresses in a couple of weeks. Thank you Jim and Chris for such a memorable experience!

If you like it online , buy it now. The inventory moves so quickly. Love the fast shipping and the ease in buying line. Every piece and there have been a few are amazing, quirky and very stylish. People will stop and ask where you bought it. Coming from Alberta, makes me proud to say that I bought in Calgary. Best travelling clothes.

I learned about your company from my sister. I ordered three items, but so far I have received one pantsuit. The material it is made of is very pleasant to the touch and is mainly made of cotton. It fits well, despite being one size. After each purchase, some discounts are given for future purchases. I like your company with quality products.

I honestly didn’t expect to find the dress at the very first boutique I visited, but I was so lucky to discover the perfect one at her boutique, I didn’t even have to think twice about it. The price was also very fair, especially compared to what I had seen online and at other boutiques. Nothing was overpriced or inflated.

This adorable little boutique made my dreams come true. I felt like royalty on my wedding day and it was all because I found the dress of my dreams and the perfect veil to go with it. The dress came in 4 months after purchasing, so it was a lot quicker than anticipated (6-9 months). The staff was very knowledgeable and it made the whole experience easygoing. I also attended their summer sale for other evening gowns and got some amazing dresses for 15-40$ when these are normally 200-400$. I live in the complete opposite direction but the trip is worth every penny!

Laura was excellent to work with - super communicative and flexible throughout the process. She helped me review her designs and sent photos of different options, details up close, etc. we worked together on customizing one of her designs to a slightly longer veil than it was in shop, and added a drop blusher. So happy with the way it turned out and that she was willing and able to help create what I had in mind!! Being based in Toronto, I was able to meet up at the Toronto location while she was in town, to try on veils, and pick up the final product in person :)

I purchased a fingertip veil from Laura months before my wedding day, and I was shocked (in a good way) by my experience. Not long after putting in the order, Laura personally contacted me to make sure I had ordered to correct color for the veil. Me not knowing which shade of white would go best with my dress, I just picked the first "white" option I saw in the dropdown menu, however, she had concerns about this, as in her experience, the pure white version can shine brighter than the dress in certain lighting, if the dress itself isn't using the same pure white tule material. To my surprise, she offered to message the designer of the wedding dress to double-check, as I did not know what to tell her by just looking at the dress myself. After she heard from the designer and confirming, she suggested to go with the "off-white" version of the veil, in order to go best with the dress I had selected. The veil came promptly and it looked and felt amazing. I was so happy with my purchase, but also, with the very personal and kind experience with Laura. If the example of effort and attention shown in this experience doesn't tell you how much she cares about her customers, I don't know what will. Thank you, Laura!!! For caring and for the effort of finding my perfect match; it's truly appreciated!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Laura Jayne Bridal Accessories, and I can't recommend them highly enough. I decided to order a custom petite dusk comb for my wedding hair just two weeks before the big day (after searching for the perfect hair accessory for several weeks), not realizing it had a 3-4 week production time. Panicking, I reached out to customer service and was pleasantly surprised to receive a prompt and understanding response from Laura within a few hours.

Laura went above and beyond to accommodate my oversight. She was already working on a custom version of the comb for another client and graciously offered to include mine in the production process. To my delight, she managed to complete my comb on the same day, and we worked together to arrange for expedited shipping so that it arrived on time, which it did!

The comb itself was stunning. When I received my wedding photos from the photographer, I couldn't help but appreciate how it finished off my whole wedding look. Laura's attention to detail and commitment to her customers truly made my wedding day extra special.

My daughter and I (MOB) visited Laura Jayne’s trunk show in Toronto to look for hair combs for her veil. We were so impressed with her samples that we ordered a pair of custom hair combs to match our 1920’s Art Deco themed wedding gown. We were able to pick the stones and size. They were perfect with the draped cowl silk veil (made by MOB). Laura Jayne’s service was exceptional and she was a dream to work with.

I purchased my dress here last year and initially had what I thought was a good experience. However, I had significant issues with one of the alterations places (Anna's) that was specifically recommended by Lovenote. After my first fitting we had a family emergency that resulted in us needing to postpone our wedding. I recognize this is no one's fault, but I called Anna's as soon as they opened the very next day to explain the situation and they assured me it hadn't been touched, they wouldn't touch it, but that they'd shipped it off site so it wasn't in their possession for me to come pick up. When I was finally able to pick it up, not only had they altered it, but they'd only done part of the alterations discussed, hemmed it arbitrarily to a length that didn't work with my shoes and required me to purchase new ones, and did a generally poor job full of short cuts. Their customer service was also horrendous dealing with them afterwards. Now that my wedding has been rescheduled I'm working with another seamstress recommended by Lovenote, Ingenuity, who has been absolutely excellent. However, independent of the issues I experienced with Anna's, this seamstress has explained that the alterations required to make my dress fit my frame properly aren't actually possible given the structure of the dress. When I was selecting my wedding dress I had actually been concerned about whether it would be possible to alter it to fit properly because the bust area was so much larger than what I needed, but the salesperson at Lovenote insisted that this was standard and could be altered. I'm not expecting that these girls have the same level of knowledge as a seamstress would, but when you're selling dresses for thousands of dollars you should at least have a basic knowledge of what is and isn't feasible. I should have trusted my gut, but this whole situation is especially frustrating because I had been concerned about alterations and was convinced that it was doable by the staff at Lovenote. Working with the new seamstress I'm confident that I'll be able to get it to a state where I can wear it for the ceremony, but it's incredibly uncomfortable and completely impractical to wear a dress where the bust is 2-3 cup sizes bigger than what you need for an entire day. Since this is obviously outside of the realm of being fixed by padding, I had to go purchase a second dress a month before my wedding, and obviously wasn't able to get any actual wedding dresses on such short notice. This whole situation has been a complete nightmare and has ruined my wedding dress experience. This dress was expensive, and if I had more time to find an alternative I wouldn't be wearing it. It's unfortunate that Lovenote wasn't more informed or more honest because I'd have preferred to have chosen another dress versus be in the situation that I am now with a dress that can't be altered to the shape and size of my body. It's okay if a dress doesn't fit, but they shouldn't be pushing people just to make a sale. I did reach out to Lovenote directly to inform them of this situation, but the response doesn't do anything to help resolve the situation. They essentially just noted that they were sorry, would try and avoid in the future, and hope this negativity won't be a reflection of my wedding day. I would avoid going here because the staff are either unknowledgeable or happy to give you incorrect information to try and influence you to purchase. I also feel as though they don't have any accountability for the fact that they are recommending an incompetent alterations business with horrible customer service. My wedding dress experience has been completely ruined, and something that should be positive has been turned into a stressful and very negative situation that's required additional expenses and unexpected purchases to rectify. Adding to my review after reading the business' response - an offer to reach out directly after I did that prior reviewing and there was no attempt to rectify or resolve the situation in any meaningful way is not helpful.

Working with Melissa to make my dream dress was an unforgettable experience. She is so talented and brought my exact vision to life through countless conversations and fittings it was absolutely perfect! She makes the process feel so easy and stress free with her calming demeanour. Best part was that Melissa allowed me creative liberties in the design of my reception party wedding dress. I came to her with a concept (some pinterest images and inspiring silhouette) and she helped guide me through it until it was perfect! We even added pearl beaded arm puffs for some drama. She has an eye for detail and is very professional. During the process of making the dress, we saw each other over 3 fittings and she was positive and receptive to my comments and demands. She was extremely patient with me, as I am a very detailed person. Extremely happy with this dress and I recommend MELISSA as a couture expert!

Melissa is one of the best people I got to work with for my wedding preparations! She is a wonderful, creative, and very skilled person. She was very helpful and full of inspiration through the entire process.
We worked together, starting obviously with the planning. She was able to take all of the individual things I liked from many different photos and combine them into one perfect dress for me. Shortly after getting the dress figured out I was forced to postpone the wedding for 2 years because of covid and each time we contacted her she was very understanding of the situation and was able to accommodate the late delivery of the dress.
Once everything was back on schedule I had my first fitting and found that I didn't like one of the materials that I had chosen and Melissa was amazing at saying "no problem" and we chose a new material that was exactly what I wanted! She made absolutely sure I loved the dress. The final fitting was done just before the wedding to make sure that it fit perfectly. One more note, the quality of the materials that we chose and the quality of the dress in the end was more than I could have hoped for. I highly recommend Melissa for any dress that you want to have made!

The whole premise of your shop was what brought me there and once I had my first experience here, I knew I didn’t need to shop anywhere else. I (like many other plus size brides) had a lot of apprehension when it came it dress shopping, but to be able to fully try the dresses on, see how they fit on my body and feel good in several options was an amazing experience. I couldn’t have felt more beautiful on my wedding day. Thank you guys!!

Boz was incredible to work with! Found my dream dress here and felt like an absolute goddess. It's a smaller boutique but the dress selection is so well curated. Highly recommend this salon to any mid/plus sized brides - especially those like me who are strugged to find "the one" at straight size bridal salons.

More 2 Love made my bridal experience come true! What more can I say. My first time trying on dresses was at this store, and I didn’t find the dress at that appointment. I had appointments booked at other shops and the experience was night and day. More 2 Love set such a high standard and I had to go back and try again. No other shop made me feel beautiful, or like I mattered. Other bridal shops consultants made me feel like they got the short straw by having to cater my appointment. I never got that feeling at More 2 Love. Not only did I end up finding my dress here, I felt like the entire staff- not just my consultant- were all my personal cheerleaders. This store radiates love, compassion, joy, and all the feelings you want to be surrounded by when picking such an important outfit! Im forever grateful to this amazing team for turning an anxiety into such a beautiful experience.

I’m SO happy I found this place! With Hannah and Dayle’s gentle guidance, they helped me find the dress that made me feel the most “me”. I was their last appointment of the day, yet they were still so present with me and made me feel right at home.
This was my 7th (and final!) shop that I visited, and I can easily say they have my favorite collection of dresses 😍 Their team truly has an eye for design, beauty, quality, comfort, and value - you would think the dresses here are priced much higher than they actually are.
Even before going in, I had a strong feeling I was going to find my dress here - and I did! It was the first dress I tried on, and the one I kept comparing all the other beautiful dresses to. I can't wait to try it on again with their curated collection of accessories, and of course, I’m so excited to wear it down the aisle and see my fiancé’s reaction ☺️

I cannot say enough great things about Dayle and the Oh Happy Brides team! Dayle was so professional, knowledgeable, encouraging and a calming presence. She was so genuine in her interest and excitement for our elopement. She was thoughtful with her questions and honest with her opinions, but never once felt overbearing or pushy. She clearly just wants brides to find the perfect dress for them, the one that makes them excited and feel beautiful! She was so helpful with our tight timeline, even helping expedite the process where she could. We had an incredible experience today and the whole team at Happy brides were amazing. The receptionist took the initiative to get us a tripod for our family that we were face timing. The eye for detail and customer service was beyond exceptional. Roan did a fantastic job and was amazing, friendly, had a great eye for detail and really took the time to listen. Roan really made this bridal experience one to remember and we would highly recommend you request Roan!

Oh Happy Brides was the perfect wedding dress shopping experience! Hannah was so helpful, and considered every detail to help me find my dress. They were patient, positive, and really fun to shop with. The dresses are beautiful and they have something for everyone, would definitely recommend!

We had such a lovely time at Oh Happy Brides! My appointment was with the owner, Dayle, who made the entire experience so much fun. She was friendly, encouraging, punctual, and incredibly knowledgeable about the ordering and alteration processes. Early on, the appointment opened my eyes to styles I hadn’t considered before, which was incredibly helpful at this stage in my dress search.
The shop itself has a fantastic selection of unique dresses, and although we weren’t the only appointment that day, the layout of the shop and Dayle’s focused attention made us truly feel like the only ones in the store. Trying on dresses at a small business was such a refreshing experience because everything felt so much more personal. It was wonderful getting to know Dayle, and I highly recommend anyone to visit her and her shop!
