Ottawa has needed a space like this for a long time. Always Knew isn’t just another wedding boutique. It’s thoughtful, inclusive, and designed with so much care.

So many of my clients tell me how hard it is to feel seen in traditional boutiques. The sizing is limited. The atmosphere can feel intimidating. And trying things on often feels more discouraging than exciting. Always Knew is the exact opposite.

It’s by appointment only, so you can take your time and actually enjoy the process. Every gown comes in two sizes, which means more people can try things on comfortably. The change rooms are huge. The accessory selection is stunning. And every designer is Canadian, which I absolutely love.

This space feels like it was built for real people with real stories. It’s modern, calm, and welcoming in all the ways that matter. Ottawa really needed this, and I’m so glad it’s here.

I had the most wonderful experience at Always Knew I Needed! From the moment I walked in, I felt so welcomed and taken care of. Abby was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely excited to help me find my dress. She really listened to what I was looking for, offered thoughtful suggestions, and made the whole process so much fun and stress-free.

The selection of gowns was stunning! There were so many beautiful styles. I never once felt rushed or pressured, and I always felt comfortable and confident in their hands!

I am wedding photographer, so I've had the opportunity to get to know Abby and Lizzie, the owners of Always Knew I Needed, and they are such wonderful powerhouse humans! I haven't had the opportunity to shop at this new store, but when I first walked in during the opening event, I knew it was going to be an amazing space for brides to find their dresses.

The bridal shop is bright, spacious, and so so welcoming. The decor is CUTE as heck (picture bows.. everywhere). And they carry Canadian designers, which is so important during these times. The staff at Always Knew I Needed are also so welcoming, and so fun, you really can't go wrong with checking out this store when searching for your dress - or even accessories!

This store was by far the best dress shopping experience I had in Ottawa! Lizzie was kind enough to open Always for us after we didn’t find quite what we were looking for at NKIN - I wasn’t sure what to expect but was blown away by the dresses at this store! The selection of Canadian designs is absolutely stunning, every single dress in the store was gorgeous, and they all come in 2 sizes to try on which is incredible. Lizzie was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, most of the dresses can be completely customized to your taste and she did a great job explaining all the options and finding examples of each thing. Every single thing she pulled for me was better than every other dress I’ve tried on elsewhere!

Outside of the selection, Lizzie also did a great job making us feel comfortable, explaining fabrics, helping understand different elements, and just contributing to making it an enjoyable experience. I highly recommend checking this spot out if you’re in the market for a wedding dress!

The kind lady here helped me find my gorgeous green dress in June just in time for my prom :) she was so sweet and informative about colour theory and uplifting your mood while being honest if something don’t look that good. This store has a multitude of sizes for everyone and considering this was the first shop I walked into, I can say I left very happy as a plus sized person.

The representative is well mannered and courteous always ready to help and get satisfied.

I had such a wonderful experience here. The staff are professional and knowledgeable, and they made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in! Their service is warm without ever being pushy. Friend invited me to join her to provide an opinion of the gowns she plans to try on since there were a few brands she liked there. She wanted to check out the new Yorkdale location since they just had their soft opening. The place is huge! Much bigger than other shops I've seen in the GTA. They even have a whole section of higher-end dresses on one side of the store. It can get overwhelming with all the choices that they have there but the consultant was quite helpful in asking some good questions about her style preference, budget and where the venue was and then made some suggestions to help her narrow down her choices. It was a fun experience.

Five stars is truly not enough to describe my experience at Camellia Wedding Gown. The whole team was so genuine and helpful and they made the process of finding my dream dress so smooth and enjoyable. I am especially so so thankful for Rosa, my amazing sweet bridal stylist. She was so patient and kind and gave me wonderful advice. You can really tell she loves what she doesand it made all the difference in my dress shopping journey. I can’t recommend this shop enough!!

I originally had my initial appointment at the Don Mills location but my friends and family were in town so I booked the VIP appointment at Yorkdale. The same dress I looked at was also available plus a few more options I was interested in for my upcoming vow renewal. We had the best experience and my guests all had a great time at Camellia. Mia is a top tier bridal consultant. She was patient and informative and made us all have fun! If anyone is booking an appointment please ask for Mia! Racquelle and her team went above and beyond in ensuring that I had the last Lennon Bridal Robe and that it was exquisitely done just for me and my wedding day. I cannot recommend Daphne Newman enough to anyone who's looking for a statement piece for their wedding day.

From the moment I walked into the Di Carlo Couture to once “I SAID YES”to the dress, and up to the wedding day when I had my dress on, I just had one feeling in my heart- and that was nothing but HAPPINESS! For me it was not just the dress that made me a happy bride, it was about the beautiful experience I had with Antoinette as well. She is an absolute legend in her field, a designer who wants to create the beauty for the brides. It’s not just going to her boutique and choose a dress to order, it’s about step by step collaboration between the bride, her and her team! She personalized the design for me as she was listening to me describing how I wanted to look like on my wedding day. Every guest gave me a big Wow! My husband was speechless. My mom, as a former Miss, is one of those women who is very detail oriented and cares about the perfection of a dress. Every time we went for the fitting, she was applauding Antoinette for her expertise. I remember when I first called Antoinette, she sounded so nice on the phone that I immediately wanted to meet her in person. I was in the early stages of shopping for my wedding dress and I ended up falling in love with one of her gowns. After trying on a few dresses we were able to create a unique look inspired by her designs. I was nervous about doing something custom at first but Antoinette was very reassuring. Antoinette was amazing every step of the way. She is patient, a good listener and solution oriented. I cannot recommend her and her team enough, they are very talented and their clients are a priority. My dress was absolutely stunning and if I had to do it all over again, it would be with Antoinette and her team.

Antoinette and her team made all my wedding dress dreams come true. When I had started to look I honestly wasn't sure what I wanted. She really took the time to have my try on many beautiful gowns and eventually designed a custom dress that really made me feel like my most beautiful self. Di Carlo Couture is conveniently located in the heart of Little Italy, Montreal. Antoinette Di Carlo is a master of her craft and a seasoned fashion designer. The moment I got engaged, I knew right off the bat she would be my go-to dress designer. I've inquired with Antoinette back in late 2018 for my wedding dress and had multiple fittings with her in 2019. For every fitting appointment, she was attentive to details, very personable and truly understands my needs/wants. Whenever I had questions, she would share her expertise and reassure my doubts. I must say, I am one of the lucky ones to have Antoinette design and custom make my dream dress. I can't thank her enough and hopefully, in the near future, I can get Antoinette to design my dress again for my vow renewal ;)

From the moment I seen her work at the bridal show in September 2024, I fell in love and had to reach out to get more information.

However, after I reached out, Gizem and I had our first initial phone call to discuss my vision for the dress which was so helpful.  We than had our subsequent in-person meeting to explore fabrics, laces, etc.. Once that was sorted out, Gizem then took my measurements, and that's when the magic truly began and that is when I knew I was in the hands of the sweetest, most understanding, unique, and incredibly creative custom designer ever.

I really appreciated the daily updates from her and her team on the progress of the dress. With each step, I was increasingly delighted as I saw my vision come to life. The dress is everything I imagined and more.

I had such a wonderful experience at Lea-Ann Belter Bridal in Toronto, and it was all thanks to Vanessa and her team. From my very first appointment, she made me feel so at ease. I was a bit nervous going in, but she was so warm and down-to-earth that I immediately felt comfortable and taken care of.

When my mam flew over from Ireland to help me pick the dress, Vanessa went out of her way to make the day really special for us. That meant so much to me, especially being away from home during such a big moment in my life.

Vanessa is a total perfectionist in the best way. She worked with me to create a custom gown using the top of one dress and the bottom of another—and it turned out even better than I imagined. She added buttons and made sure every single detail was just right before I flew back to Ireland. Nothing was too much trouble for her.

I got married in April and honestly felt incredible in my dress. It was everything I had hoped for. I’ll never forget how lovely and thoughtful Vanessa was throughout the whole process. THE BEST WEDDING DRESS EXPERIENCE!

This isn't your typical salon where there are multiple brides and multiple appointments going on at once and you don't order your dress in your closest size and take it to get altered. This is truly a one stop shop with the most personal experience you could have.

The salon is beautiful and it is just you, your closest family and friends and Vanessa. She is so amazing and makes sure you are taken care of and really listens to you. She makes your vision come to life and does everything she can to make the dress of your dreams. All the dresses are absolutely stunning and they have such variety that they can fit everyone's style and if not there is so much customization available. I knew from my first visit that even if I didn't find a dress at Lea-Ann Belter in Toronto that I would make it work and find a dress just so I could work with Vanessa.

Once we chose the dress of my dreams, all the try on appointments were so wonderful. They make the dress to fit you and do all changes and alterations in house. Seeing the dress come alive is an amazing experience and you work with Vanessa every step of the way.

I don't even know where to start. I spent so long looking for my wedding dress with no luck until I stumbled upon Lea-Anne Belter. I shared my likes and dislikes for my wedding dress with Vanessa, the bridal consultant who she was able to pick out the most perfect dress for me (it even had a slit and pockets!). I was in good hands with Vanessa, who was extremely kind, knowledgeable and experienced.
The alterations and veil were done in house which was lifesaving given that I found the dress less than 6 months before the wedding.
I can't recommend Lea-Anne Belter enough - it was truly an amazing stress-free experience where I felt like a princess!

I was so honoured to be a Lea-Ann Belter bride and I could not have had a better experience! I visited 5 bridal salons across Toronto and had hands-down the best experience at Lea-Ann Belter. Vanessa, the bridal consultant, was so knowledgeable, kind, and patient. I looked forward to every appointment I had! I was able to create a custom gown combined from two of the in-store gowns, embellish it exactly how I wanted, and was able to include my Mom's bow from her 1990 wedding dress, which they handled so carefully and it looks like it was made for the gown! I had 5 fittings with them to get the perfect fit, and was able to tweak every element of the dress, including adding pockets, to create exactly what I had envisioned. They provided the sweetest goodie bag for becoming an LBB bride, and the dress was arranged so well for my travel to the wedding out of town. They also included extra Swarovski crystals to replace any that got damaged during the day. The pricing was the best I've seen across bridal salons and it means so much to me that the dresses are created locally in Toronto. With so many beautiful and unique off-the rack gowns, and the ability to customize anything, I have no doubt that every bride can find her dream dress here. Plus you'll have the best, most uplifting, experience ever!

Leyla made my traditional Nigerian dress for my wedding. I needed it very last minute and brought her just left over material. With such little time , 48 hours, Leyla was able to create the most beautiful piece. She is not only an amazing seamstress but she is a brilliant designer. With the time crunch I was only able to consult with her briefly about what I wanted and she took that and created something so stunning that made me feel so beautiful on my big day. I cannot recommend her enough. I would most definitely without a doubt trust her with any piece. Thank you again Leyla.

Leyla is very professional and talented designer! I can’t express enough how much I appreciate her alterations for my wedding gown! She saved my wedding dress, as It was a last minute call when I reached out to her. Without any hesitation Leyla altered my gown from size 14 to 10. It was done so accurately and attentively to every small detail that you can’t tell it ever been altered!

I am beyond happy with the alterations made to my mother of the bride gown. It fits perfectly and Leyla added some really nice touches that I didn’t even think of. It was done within 10 days. So awesome. Highly recommend her!!! And the bonus is she’s a lovely person.

What I loved most is that she really cared about each bridesmaid feeling good in their dress. She adjusted every fit with so much patience. The result was a set of dresses that looked elegant and effortless.

Such a wonderful experience at Lovenote Bride - Ottawa!

I have been following Lovenote on social media for a while and had looked at the gowns online multiple times, and I am so happy that I booked an appointment during a trip to Ottawa. The customer service is amazing; Lara made sure to make me feel comfortable every step of the way, had great advice and was super understanding. The boutique is magical and I felt pretty in all the gowns. I love how you can customize, and mix and match bodices and skirts, and fabrics. I was lucky to buy a sample dress, and the discount was greater than what I've seen in other boutiques for sample dresses. Also, the instructions for caring for the dress were so detailed, they really exceeded my expectations!

I recommend to all brides, but especially to those who may have struggled with their body image or have had challenging previous wedding dress shopping experience(s), because for me, Lovenote is not only where I bought my wedding dress, but also where I managed to embrace my body and feel beautiful.

I would highly recommend Lovenote Bride - Ottawa to any future bride! My experience at Lovenote was exceptional. First off, the bridal shop is beautifully decorated and I was in awe when I first walked in. The material of wedding dresses were luxurious. They looked even more amazing on and were unique compared to anything I saw elsewhere! Lara was fabulous to work with throughout all of our communications and it was clear she was very knowledgeable.

I had the best experience at Lovenote Ottawa. Lara was very helpful, responsive, and knowledgeable. She made the experience one to remember. The space is very pretty and the collection is so beautifully crafted. I would highly recommended this boutique to anyone looking for high quality service and designs.

I brought my wedding dress to her after the first place I brought it for alterations messed up my dress. She was able to squeeze me in one month before my wedding and fix all of the issues with my dress. Without her my dress would have looked awful.

When I called that company they recommended me to her and said she was the very best at dress alteration. She has a full shop setup in her garage. You get the work of a professional at a very reasonable price.

I'm so happy to have stumbled across Amelie during my search for my wedding dress in April 2021. We decided to get married six weeks before our date and I was worried I wouldn't find anything I liked. Amelie is such an amazing and talented seamstress and was able to create exactly what I wanted in such a quick turnaround (3-4 weeks!)

My experience with her was always pleasant and she was never pushy when it came to any decisions being made during the process. In fact, she offered alternatives and was able to work within my budget by offering other material that would essential re-create the same look.

The consultation visit involved trying on the different tops and bottoms to help decide what style dress you're looking for. I knew I wanted the jupe oiseau de paradis, but was uncertain with the top. With no hesitation at all, Amelie created two different style tops to try during our first fitting and I was able to make any final decisions from there with the top cassiopee. She even made a matching face mask.

With every fitting that followed ( there were 3 in total), Amelie was careful to make sure everything was perfect. By visit 3, the dress is yours and you take it home. There's even a nice finished touch but I won't spoil that surprise for you!

Communication was very quick as Amelie always replied within the same day. She was willing to be flexible with her schedule to work with yours when it came to follow-up appointments. Payment for the dress was also made in 3 instalments, and she accepts e-transfer.

Really exemptional client care and Fabulous dress. My cousin got a wedding dress tailored with costumized design. We weren't sure how it would turn out at first but they delivered and the dress came out looking so fantastic and amazing. We were able to get the help we needed and recommendations regarding the dress. I recommend this shop as the wedding dress is tailored specifically for the bride. Note this place made a fabulous dress that did not break my cousin's bank account.
