Hey it's a boutique stay for a few days specially if you are here for business trips!
I loved a little cute room of mine.
It was clean, well kept, the shared washroom had everything that one would need to do their business.
I think I did get a good deal and I was happy with the stay. Very accommodating.

I enjoyed my stay at Le Sand & Stone.
This is not a "five star" hotel. It's rather basic so don't expect a room with a view. My view was of the empty building across the street but I didn't mind. I just used the room for rest and sleep.
The hotel and rooms were in decent shape but definitely could use a few minor repairs (air conditioner, towel racks, etc). Everything was clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
The hotel is in a good central area and was in walking distance of what I wanted to see. Many restaurants nearby and a grocery store too.
The area can be a bit rough but the hotel was quite secure.

We stayed here over the long weekend with my partner, and it was a very good experience! The staff’s service was excellent they responded quickly both by email and at the hotel, and they even spoke to us in Spanish. I’d say at this hotel you get what you pay for, but the best part is definitely the location, as it’s close to all the main attractions. That said, at night you can hear some noise from the nightlife. On the first day it was a bit loud, but it’s to be expected given the area, and the police patrols the street regularly.

I spent 3 weekdays at Le Sand & Stone because it was in the center of the downtown area and the price was very affordable comparatively. I appreciated that it was an older building and the management seemed to be working hard to give it a boutique hotel feel. My “deluxe” room was clean, my bed was comfortable and there was air conditioning. There were a few small things that would easily make it better immediately, which I’ll pass on to the hotel, and I was told they are planning to keep making more improvements as time goes on.

If you’re expecting major hotel chain aesthetics, everything newly updated and a big room, you’ll be disappointed, but if you’re expecting friendly reception staff, a fantastic location and your needs being met for a comfortable sleep (but bring earplugs - lots of street noise), you’ll be happy with your choice. I’d choose here again.

I had a terrible experience at this hotel. The AC was not working at all, and to make things worse, the water stopped coming while I was taking a bath. The room was extremely small, cramped. Honestly, this is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. Definitely not recommended for families or anyone looking for a comfortable stay.

Hotel didn’t seem up to date. Seems as if it was apart of the government refugee program. Some odd smells in the corridors.

In the room, wallpaper peeling. Was given 1 rag for 2 adults. Tv wasn’t working.

It’s been 8 business days, 10 regular days. I haven’t received my deposit as yet. They claim to have released it but I know the hotel industry and they didn’t manually release it as they are supposed to they just let it sit and cancel out on its own.

I’ve gone to 4 star hotels like the Sheraton and One King West and the deposit was returned within 3 business days or less. The amounts were higher $200 or $250.

For a 2 star hotel do better. Your service should be exceptional considering the fact that you’re not a top hotel. Cheaper isn’t always better.

Stayed there for 6 nights. We went to check in an hour or two earlier than 3 pm which was the mentioned time for check in and they refused for early check in as the room was not ready and they also didn't keep our suitcases, so we literally had to kill 2 hours of our time just roaming around in the roads. When we came back again at 3, the room was still not ready and the receptionist asked us to wait more. I think this was the biggest turn off for any guest. The room had a cheap quality coffee maker, fridge and a microwave. Although the room size is pretty good, their cleanliness is terrible. Washroom was just cleaned on the surface but the deep cleaning of the toilet was not done at all so the commode was extremely dirty on the sides. The bathroom would even get tiny flying bugs from time to time. The carpet in the room was very dirty and stained, couldn't imagine walking bare feet on it. The sofa was dirty with stains on it. The bed sheets and linen was not washed well and had stains, hence its pretty unhygienic. The location is also pretty far off from most places and the HWY. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who is by nature a clean person, and is also looking for convenience.

Not a place I would recommend. The bathroom doesn’t have body soap to shower with. They only give these tiny pocket size shampoo bottles. They don’t even put water bottles in your room, you have to pay for water. And last but not least i had to request for my room to be cleaned and even when i asked no one came. I did not receive new towels or any toiletries. This hotel needs to go through auditing to learn how REAL hotels provide customer service. The whole point of staying in a hotel is to have a clean room at all times. If i wanted to clean my room i would have stayed in an air bnb. DO NOT BOOK YOUR STAY HERE.

The service at the desk is very lovely. Unfortunately when we checked in, our ac unit was not working and they worked with us to get the unit working asap. Ken was a very kind and accommodating representative. The location and pricing of this hotel are pretty good too.

I had an absolutely terrible experience with this hotel. My reservation was cancelled on the day of arrival with no proper explanation or warning — completely unacceptable and stressful, especially after traveling.

I had also requested a crib in advance since I was traveling with a baby, and was told one would be available. When we arrived, not only was there no crib, but staff showed no concern or effort to help — they were incredibly rude and dismissive.

To make matters worse, the hotel itself was dirty. The lobby, hallways, and what we saw of the rooms were not clean or well-kept. Honestly, the whole experience felt like a complete lack of care for guests.

I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, especially not to families or anyone expecting even basic customer service. A terrible, terrible experience.

Go else where

My stay at this establishment was overall very satisfying. From the moment I arrived, I appreciated the cleanliness, impeccable organization, and how everything matched the instructions I had received. The location in downtown Toronto was perfect, allowing me to fully enjoy my stay. The room was comfortable and well-equipped, meeting all my expectations. At first, communication with the interns was a bit challenging, but by engaging more, I ended up receiving even better service than expected. Despite some negative reviews that could have discouraged me, my experience was excellent. The staff was warm and welcoming, and I highly recommend this establishment 100%.

However, one thing seemed a bit strange at first: I was asked to take a photo of myself holding my ID card, and I learned that, in principle, people under 25 were not allowed to enter. This was surprising to me, but I understand that every establishment has its own rules as long as they are transparent and fair. In the end, I was able to check in without any issues despite my age. Additionally, some reviews mentioned problems with security deposit refunds, but I personally received my full refund. I believe everything comes down to good communication—by being clear and asking the right questions, it’s possible to avoid misunderstandings and fully enjoy the stay.

I called to schedule a reservation at this place , I was told it was not the place called Somply comfort inn and that they were Glovo hotel. I explained that I called the number shown on the website and before and wasn’t sure why a number for this hotel was used for their hotel and before I could even ask about availability they told me that they were fully booked for that day. I asked the lady if they were located in the area I was looking to stay so I could call again Incase they have availability for another time . She told me they are fully booked and don’t make reservations on phone . I asked if she could atleast share with me the area so I could consider calling back another time as location was something I was counting on with booking , she scoffed and said we are fully booked ?
Not sure what telling me if they are located in an area was an issue as , I was not asking for the address just the locality and she wouldn’t even tell me that . I said I could check online but since the phone number I had called was essentially not tied to the original place I thought I was calling then maybe the location was different , it was so frustrating and I hung up . Worst customer service really!!!

An amazing experience from start to finish! The apartment was immaculate, with every detail thoughtfully taken care of. The host was so welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed, providing helpful local tips. The location was perfect—convenient to all the main attractions, yet quiet and relaxing at night. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and stress-free stay. I’ll definitely be back!

This property charged me stating there were stains on towels and sheets that were unwashable, however, they did not provide me with pictures of the items after they had been washed. This property is unethical. Beware, don’t stay here or they will use an unfounded excuse to charge you. This is why people star at hotels so properties like this can’t do this to them.

Beware! It's a scam! Worst travel experience I've ever had. The room was advertised at $85 a night, but fees, some fraudulent, added up to $179. One was a fee for having another person with me, but charged before I even showed up. First, I was completely alone. Second, even if I weren't, how could they have known that before I showed up! They obviously just tack fees on and expect you to fight to get them removed. They want you to take a picture of yourself and your ID and email it to them. Super sketchy. Then they want you to paypal them an additional $200. Only paypal. They won't take anything else. They claim you get it back after 7 days. It's actually 7 business days and I'm not holding my breath. One of their victims suggests to report them to "file fraudulent business practice Canada". I will definitely be doing that. Not customer care at all. For whats now $379 in all, I could have stayed somewhere nice, not somewhere where finding my key in a stairwell in a lockbox like some tortuous treasure hunt and being told to wander the building with my garbage in my hand looking for a garbage shoot that I can't open anyway is the level of hospitality. Shame on you VRBO for partnering with them.

Im surprised by all the bad/1 star references. The room/studio was hospital clean, the bed very comfortable and we had everything you need. The location was very central (walking distance to the World Heritage locks, market, historical buildings). Yes, the price is a bit on the high side and yes you see strange people outside, but we never felt unsafe.

I had a family stay at this hotel recently. It was weel enjoyed. The host was very accommodating with requests and resolving issues. The restaurant experience downstairs was the best we had during our stay in Ottawa. It is a must try for all. Overall, I will recommend CDQI as a good option.

Booked the Mega Deluxe 2 double bed studio for four nights but there was nothing mega deluxe about the studio we stayed in!

No reception desk at hotel and details of floor number were not provided with booking information so had to ask cleaning staff to direct us to the room we were staying in. Also, had to be constantly careful with the top step to level one (there is no internal lift/elevator) as the rise is much higher than normal/safe - it's really quite dangerous and I'd be surprised if it actually complies with building standards!

Building air conditioning is not working so an in-room air conditioning unit with a vent tube going out through a window has been installed (no instruction manual provided - had to find it online) but with outside temperatures in the low 30s every day we had to operate the air conditioner 24/7 just to try and keep the room at a comfortable 23C-24C (on really hot days the room temperature didn't drop below 26C even at night). The unit always ran with the fan on high (we couldn't get it to use lower fan speed unless we set the temperature to +26C) which meant we couldn't watch television while the unit was on and we had to use ear plugs to be able to sleep at night.

Television remote wouldn't operate TV - also no instruction manual so had to find it online and reset TV to get it working.

No tea/coffee making provisions (or coffee machine), no face tissues, no kitchen/tea towels, no face washers, dishes from previous guests left on sink, filter for stovetop rangehood exhaust fan is filthy, no water jug to use in refrigerator, IKEA saucepans not assembled (ie, handles not fitted to saucepans and knobs not fitted to lids).

Exhaust fan in bathroom doesn't work and the internal security door latch is broken.

Gaps around entry door are so large that an annoying amount of really bright light shines into the room at night from the corridor outside - had to use pillows each night to reduce the amount of light shining in from under the door.

That said, the location was very convenient/central, the hand/bath towels were clean, the beds/pillows were comfortable and the sheets and bedding were clean.

This “hotel” is overpriced. Included in my room rate was a $9 RESORT FEE and $30 for cleaning. This was not a hotel or a resort? There was no one on site. The room was clean and that was the only redeeming quality. We had to ask for another bath towel which was delivered. You had to be an IT expert to watch TV. There were no directions and we could not watch any news station? Most of the programs had to be subscribed to?The shower gel was watered down and not sufficient to bathe. We had to use the hand soap?
The AC shuts down after some time and has to be turned on hourly?

No smoke detector. Toilet didn’t work and they didn’t get a plumber and said it would be fixed the following day only to offer us a room at nearly 9pm on another floor in the walk up. Exhaust fan in bathroom did nothing. Shower water was not controllable and scalding hot. Exhaust in range hood did not exhaust anywhere which is illegal and a fire hazard. The top step of the stairs coming from the sidewalk were not to code as the top step was an inch and a half higher which is extremely dangerous. I would never stay there again. There was supposed to be quiet time and the floor above was having a loud party with music. The only thing good about it was the location to the Byward Market. Beware of staying here.

Zero stars should be an option. The entire building had a very strong odor, like untreated sewage. The sheets had not been changed after the previous guest left and were dirty with hair in both beds. The room was dirty, the kitchen faucet barely worked, the bathtub was dirty and drained very slowly, and there was no hot water or heating (even though it was 25 degrees outside, it was cold in the room). Unfortunately, I had prepaid for four nights, but due to the appalling conditions, I left after only one night.

When I noticed how dirty the sheets were, I checked the online reviews again and found negative reviews on hotels.com that had been posted after I made my reservation. Now this hotel doesn't even show up on hotels.com so I can't leave a bad review. They masquerade under other names… Parc Lofts, Parc Avenue Lofts, The Parc Mile End… and change the hotel name on the apps to avoid negative reviews. Their pictures of the rooms must have been made with AI. This place is a DUMP. Don't be fooled.

Amazing location and tons of space on the 3 bed two bath unit. Also featured a private balcony with hot tub and great sunset views. Cleanliness was great. Place is slightly beat up but highly recommend for the price. Only downside was the parking but seems consistently not great for this area. Expect $30 per day if you have a car. AC was not working on main floor but very satisfied

Definitely worst service and worst quality hotel. Check my photo before coming. Stains everywhere, broken window, molds on sofa bed and stains even on towels! and when I brought this up to the reception, he was immediately defensive and dismissed my concern saying its just wear and tear. It seemed like he was ready to fight as soon as I brought it up and just saying 'Im not gonna give the answer you want' when I didnt even bring up refund or changing the room so they probably get this complaint alot and choose to fight the customer instead.

Overall very unprofessional receptionist but room is as bad or worse then the service.

Edit: I erased the name because I think going over whole fight and losing with both expedia and hotel, I realize I think the employees are just trained to fight and they have no other choice. its impossible to reach the person in charge and the employees are just shield for the hotel. Expedia just allows this bad practice because they still benefit for it and most customer dont choose to fight. Just sad reality.

Very Disappointing Stay — Dirty and Poorly Maintained
We recently stayed at this property and was extremely disappointed. The apartment was very dirty, with stained walls and floors that clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. There were no bed sheets for two of the beds, we had to go to reception to ask for them and were handed a sack of sheets to put on ourselves after opening the sofa beds.
The kitchen stool was broken and the hot bath was out of order and filthy, bedsheets were dirty, sofa pillows were disgusting. Overall maintenance was poor and basic cleanliness was clearly not a priority. The staff came across as unprofessional and unwelcoming, which made the stay even more uncomfortable.
Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this hotel - there are far better, cleaner and friendlier options available for the same price.

the location is pretty solid, given that most attractions are at best a 10 min drive away. However, the rooms were not well maintained, I found small and medium sized roaches in the bathroom, particularly near the entrance and the bathtub. The floors were also not swept properly near the AC unit, I found glitter and dust very evidently on the floor. However, the staff were very nice, and the location again was very nice

We booked online and paid in full via a booking company. Upon entering the lobby was dark and When we tried to check in they refused to give us the room because we did not have a credit card. We offered to leave a cash deposit and were met with a less than helpful dismissive attitude.
Thankfully, the booking company had free cancelation and we were refunded immediately with no hassle.

Staff very friendly and helpful, rooms comfortable and clean, could use some updating . AC unit smelled of mold when turned on. location is interesting...had a man playing a drum outside the hotel lobby till late in the evening. (Not far from room).

Very bad staff, bad service, and rude. They treated us as if we were staying for free. We were a large family and we took more than three rooms for three nights. The rooms were not clean and had cockroaches. I found a cockroach on the bed and this is shown in the pictures. I do not advise anyone to waste their money on this bad hotel.

It has turned into a living space rather than a travel hotel. Not that this is bad, but it is not the experience I am looking for even for a 1 night stay. The hallway lights are on 24/7 - the space under the door allows bright light in, as do the curtains that do not reach to the bottom of the sill. The AC unit is very loud. I had an awful sleep.

My wife (a person of colour with mobility issues) and I stopped here for a couple nights before going out east. Despite the location being advertised as smoke free, the place absolutely reeked. They offered us the back parking spot due to my wife’s mobility issues, for $35 a night.
The following day we did some sight seeing, when we returned there was another vehicle in the spot that we had paid for. Having to leave my wife in the car, I went in to discuss the issue with the owner on site.I tried to discuss the issue with him rationally, but he escalated the situation by calling us homophobic ableist and racist slurs.
I immediately packed up our things. We’ve been attempting to get a refund, to no avail, and had to pay to spend the night in a different location.
DO NOT STAY HERE. THEY ARE EXTREMELY IGNORANT AND DISRESPECTFUL.

The stay was good, Robert was very kind. helping and friendly. He allowed us to cook till 8 pm which was half an hour extra than the routine . Very neat and clean. They are renovating hope they will have better beds to get more visitors. Service was excellent. Breakfast was included and wide variety was there in breakfast.

I stayed here with my family. Almost everything was misinformed on the listing. The place absolutely reeked of cigarettes despite the location being listed as “non smoking” everywhere. So much so that when we left , found somewhere else to stay and unpacked, everything we had brought smelt like cigarette smoke.
The room did not lock from the outside. Anyone could come into our room while we weren’t there. Someone DID walk into the room while me and my very young sibling were in there, saying that the room my family and I were staying in was their room. This shook me up and made me severely concerned for our security and safety. It seems the owner took this other persons items without their knowledge and moved it to another room. This was absolutely not these other people’s fault. This was the fault of the management and the owner’s.
The owner proceeded to take the parking spot that WE paid for(we had paid for two nights), say it was our fault for misunderstanding him somehow, and refused to give us our money back. When we brought it up to the manager at the location at the time, he yelled and shouted profanities at us. Blaming it on Expedia(which we didn’t even use to pay for the parking spot), the other owner, and us. We ended up leaving a day early and still have yet to come to a resolution.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. DO NOT GIVE THEM CASH. DO NOT EVEN BOTHER STAYING. We were treated with such disrespect that I have never experienced from a place of business before.

Booked a two night stay. When we returned for the second night we found all of our stuff had been moved out of our room to a smaller room and a new group was in our space. We had no communication about this and they offered nothing for having to share a bed instead of the two beds that we paid for. They offered no real reason for this. They also kept some of our stuff in the old room and did not move everything. Awful experience, don't waste your money. Also reeked of smoke.

dirty, smells really bad from cigarettes, sheets towels and furniture is old and uncomfortable to say the least.

we booked one apt for 4 people and asked for separate beds like mentioned in the booking com site.
but in reality we got a reclining sofa for me and my sister!!
the management was very rude and pressured us to decide in 5 min when it was already evening.

the worst place I've ever been to! we canceled our reservation immediately and paid 4 times more, just to put our heads somewhere. run away!

Was overall a good experience! We just needed a place to sleep on our trip for one night so we didnt stay long. There is no parking, but you can pay for a parking garage 1 street over ($10 overnight). You don’t have an individual bathroom in your room, but there were 3 shared bathrooms on our floor of about 10 rooms. The bedroom was nice and clean. No AC but it wasn’t overly warm since we visited in the fall.

It’s nothing special but a good place to simply stay the night to sleep (maybe bring ear plug if your sensitive to sound)

A beautiful rustic, slummy, art deco style. There are a lot of mystery items which are worth investigating. We had a room and a bathroom on our floor. Sheets were clean enough (not after we were done with them) and the room felt thrown together. Also there is a hall of fans.

Would not recommend.

They charge $15-$20 to put your luggage in a the electrical closet depending on who is at the front desk. We ended up paying $30 for this over two days because check in is late (4pm) and check out is 11am. They do not keep track of who leaves what luggage in this room so cross your fingers.

The shared bathrooms were gross and there was often standing water. Bedding was being folded by staff on the ground in public hallways. One of our blankets did not have a duvet cover.

No sound insulation between rooms and for some reason the turn over staff decided that outside guest rooms is a great place to converse and laugh loudly for over an hour early in the morning.

Questionable code compliance, little STC rating, broken stair railing and definitely failed fire rating between rooms.

Shameful service – scam and indifference!

I booked a room at this so-called “hotel” expecting at least basic comfort, especially in hot weather. But the air conditioning didn’t work at all! The room was unbearably stuffy, and it was impossible to sleep. I went to the front desk — they just shrugged and said they’d “pass the message along.” Nothing was done.

I asked for at least a partial refund — and they flat-out refused! They knew the room didn’t meet the promised standards, yet had no problem charging full price. This is outright deception and complete disrespect toward guests.

I strongly advise against staying here. For this price, you can find a hotel that actually respects its customers and provides the basics. Disgraceful!

It's a good value for Montreal. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, and a friendly host. The only negative is you can hear the neighboring rooms quite easily. For me it was not a problem because there weren't many guests and I'm not that fussy anyway. It's in a quieter neighborhood, but still very walkable to anywhere in old town. I would definitely stay again.

This place is not worth the price. The whole house stinks. The room in which we stayed had a non functional tv which didn’t have a remote and whose size is that of a desktop monitor. Infact, the monitor is way bigger than the tv in the room. The shared washroom had cabinets which were broken and not clean with flies and mosquitoes The bathroom stinks. Driving from Toronto made me realize that I needed a comfortable place to crash and this place made me sick as I couldn’t sleep the whole night. The ac doesn’t work and the lady claims that the ac is working it’s just the heat wave. Seriously??? Totally disappointed and will not suggest this torturous place to anyone. Total disaster and thank God I fled even before the check out time.

Absolutely appalling. Never have I stayed at a hotel where everything was either broken, missing, or dirty. We arrived, one towel for two people, no toilet paper, no face cloths. Plus no AC as said on expedia, no breakfast service or coffee like was said, not to mention i had issues booking online, and when I called to confirm my booking they were wanting me to give my card info, I'm now thinking they were going to try to steal my info after reading comments???

There also seems to be a family permanently living who are allowed to let their 3 year old child scream in the public hall and run right in front of guest rooms at 9 AM.

I'm now trying to get my money back for my stay, the low price isn't worth the hot nights with no breakfast service as specified, and lack of privacy.

Do not book at this place! I made a booking through Expedia about a month ago for check-in today and it was prepaid on my credit card. This morning I got a phone call saying that my credit card didn’t go through and that they cancelled my reservation and gave my room to someone else. The lady was extremely rude and aggressive. It is impossible that my credit card declined and secondly, why is she checking it today? Also, how is it possible that she rebooked the room within five minutes of cancelling my reservation??? She clearly double booked! Worst customer service I’ve ever seen! Also, I have now been told that the rooms are filthy and that they don’t wash the sheets! Talk about dodging a bullet!

-Good Service, good location, but Bed Bugs Were a Dealbreaker

The service was good, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. However, I did have to wait a bit to get let in, which was slightly inconvenient. The price was very reasonable, which initially made it seem like a great value.

Unfortunately, the presence of bed bugs completely overshadowed these positives. We got bitten during our stay and are now dealing with the aftermath. While the service was nice and the price was good, the bed bugs made this a place I cannot recommend.

Joe and his wife were/are very kind, helpful and considerate. They have many great rooms, they have renovated bigger houses into smaller rentals that have everything that anyone would need and more. The location could not be better. The owners are great people and the most friendly that I have ever dealt with, and I have stayed at many other good places but Joe and his wife treated me and my children as family. I cannot say enough good things about their location, services, friendliness and rental properties. I have always recommend them to friends and family and always will. Don’t pay attention to the negative reviews, negative and tired people always over exaggerate. The location is 5/5, service is 5/5 and rentals are 5/5.

I’ve stayed at this hotel twice because of its convenient location near the airport, but unfortunately, both experiences were disappointing.

First stay:
The room lacked proper upkeep. The kettle was clearly not cleaned after the previous guest—it had greasy stains and even smelled of instant noodles. When I asked for a replacement (as I needed hot water for my infant’s food), I was told it could only be provided after 10 pm, which was completely unhelpful at the time. The iron was badly burnt and unusable, and the floor felt sticky, squeaking with every step, leaving the room feeling unclean and uncomfortable.

Second stay:
On my return visit, I faced a completely different but equally concerning problem: another guest was able to unlock and enter my room with their key. That was not only unsettling but also a serious security issue. The bedding was another disappointment—sheets and the duvet carried the scent of perfume and sweat, making it clear they hadn’t been freshly laundered. At reception, the staff seemed disengaged, speaking on the phone in Punjabi while appearing irritated whenever guests asked for assistance. The overall attitude came across as unprofessional and dismissive.

Both times I left with the impression that hygiene, guest safety, and basic hospitality are not given importance at this property. For a hotel so close to the airport, where travelers expect comfort and reliability, this was a major letdown.

Terrible experience. Staff was busy talking to each other than checking the room before letting us in. The first room was dirty, beds undone, stove unclean, trash bin is full, window glass was broken as if there was a fight here. We thought that we were in a crime scene.
The second room was a bit better, but we couldn’t feel at ease because of the first room. Bedding seems yellowish and old. At around 11pm, someone opened our room, he said that the staff gave him the key! Lucky that we locked the door with the latch. My kids were scared.
There were at least 2 other customers complaining about AC and hygiene at the time I went down to ask for a room change.
We will not come back ever. Gave 1 star because we cannot choose zero.

Upon check-in, I was assigned a room on the ground floor. However, my booking clearly indicated a city-view room, not one on the ground floor. This caused immediate confusion. When I entered the room, I also discovered that it had not been cleaned.

I reported this issue to the receptionist, who informed me she would contact a manager or someone to assist. A staff member later came to the room, but rather than addressing the booking discrepancy, he simply stated they would come back to clean it. Unfortunately, no one ever returned to do so.

This was extremely disappointing. My wife was very upset and suggested leaving the hotel, but as I was traveling with three children, finding alternative accommodation on a Friday night during a busy weekend was not feasible.

The most troubling aspect of this experience was the lack of care shown by the staff. Assigning an unclean room, failing to provide the correct booking type, and not following through with their promise to clean the room demonstrates an unacceptable level of service.

Stayed for one night. Check in was easy and quick. Rooms look like student dorms, kitchen and fridge and stove... and room had dishwasher and laundry machine (and dryer) too! Pretty quiet and AC worked great. The front desk staff seem really bored with their job. They don't have ice, so bring your own. Checkout was quick, and decent parking. Overall, good!

I recently visited this property and was impressed with the improvements. The lobby feels more modern and the rooms are updated as well. I’ve always been able to get a good rate here which makes it reliable for frequent travel. Glad to hear it’s being converted into a Best Western and looking forward to future stays.

While traveling for work, I usually book hotels based on client allowances and have stayed in everything from remote lodges to high-end facilities. This time, another person booked my hotel, and from the moment I arrived, it was clear this would not be a good experience.

First impressions seemed fine—polite staff, quiet lobby, and recently updated flooring in the room. However, my standard room check quickly revealed the truth. Pulling back the sheets, I found multiple hairs—including pubic hair—on the bedding. To make matters worse, there were dried bodily fluids on the wall, resembling blood or mucus.

I immediately went to the front desk. While the staff offered to move me to another room, I declined. If housekeeping standards allowed this level of cleanliness to pass, I wasn’t willing to risk another stay in the same facility.

To their credit, management refunded me in full, which is why I didn’t leave a 1-star review. But overall, the condition of the room was unacceptable, and I cannot recommend this property.

There was an overly friendly guy who greeted me at the front door. He was dressed very casual, not business casual, very casual. I was confused if he even worked there.
He was nice, but as a solo female traveler I was a little sketched out. Luckily, I only needed to stay there one night. I definitely would not have stayed there longer. I actually left a lot earlier than I expected the following morning. My thought was that I would rather be at the airport earlier and hang out there versus the room I paid for. I know the ratings weren’t great to start with and it was about $120 compared to the $300+ hotels. But I still expected a base standard level of cleanliness. I do backcountry camping, at least you know what is out in the wilderness, for the most part. I have no idea how clean or what was in that room. It’s really sad that you can’t get a quality hotel for $120/night anymore. Where are the health inspectors and if that’s standard they need to reevaluate and raise the bar!!!! Extremely disappointed!

Switched to this hotel after having an issue with another hotel we were supposed to stay at. They were accommodating to us and gave us a cheaper rate than where we were originally going to stay. This is a don’t judge it’s book by its cover situation. I wasn’t sure when we first pulled up but was pleasantly surprised. Staff at the front desk were friendly and polite. The room was way bigger than expected with a kitchenette in it and was $100 cheaper than the smaller room I had booked prior. The room was clean and quiet. We did not hear anything all night long and apparently there were some last minute stampede parties going on on our floor. Free parking was great and I was able to park my car where I could see it from my room. I would definitely stay there again.

Preet is a kind and patient man in the lobby, he provided great customer service. He helped calm a situation and he translated for my mother who knows little English. Two thumbs up.

The room on the third floor is good and clean enough for a 2 star hotel. I didn't smell smoke in my room. The beds, pillows and sheets are clean, and the mattress is a little soft but tolerable for good sleep. There is a bit of occasional noise from the airplane because the hotel is near the airport. The walls are a little thin, so if you have a noisy neighbour tough luck. The bathroom is renovated and clean. The amenities like the fridge, microwave, and TV all work. The clothes iron and board are there but I never needed to use them.

There is a gym, private bar and an Indian restaurant on the first floor.

The negatives are the price, it's about $300+ a night during Stampede week, no free breakfasts are included and one of the elevators was not working.

Stayed during Stampede weekend. This is a decent budget hotel, but definitely more in the 2- to 3-star range. Cleanliness was acceptable for a guys’ trip, though there’s room for improvement.

A few issues during the stay: the door to my room was open and unlocked when I first arrived. The ironing board was missing, and the one eventually provided was damaged. The water price listed on the vending machine didn’t match what I was charged. Another vending machine took my money without dispensing the snack.

There was a power outage due to AC replacement work, and the AC in my room barely worked. The staff were friendly and helpful, but it’s clear that management or ownership needs to step up in terms of upkeep and consistency.

Overall: A passable choice if you’re on a tight budget, but I personally wouldn’t stay here again.

We had a great stay. Rooms were spacious and clean. The management was very friendly, and a great location. Many things within walking distance in each direction!

DO NOT BOOK A NIGHT HERE. The entire building was completely filthy, there were mattresses outside in the hallway, and when we arrived in the room, the beds were not cleaned and there was hair found in it. Then we found the pillows completely moldy and yellow.. we had to go sleep somewhere else and the attendant would not refund us. Terrible service and outrageously filthy to let guests sleep in. (See images below for proof of the filth). As well for safety, the locks were not strong and could be easily opened without the key provided.

When we asked for a refund/solution we were given none except for « new pillows »… I tried to explain that we just lost trust in this hotel and that it would not change anything but we were then told to « go write a review » and left hanging. We had to leave, finding us in the middle of montreal with nowhere to go at 9pm.

Save yourself time, energy and frustration and avoid that place.

Great value for money at this place. The building seems a bit old, but the rooms are just fine and the beds are comfortable. They also have 24 hour reception.

The neighborhood can be a bit noisy on the weekend (big party area) but this wasn't a problem for me. The Wifi was also good.

Just FYI, since the Google Listing mentions coin-op laundry, the system they have is that you drop off your laundry and the owner returns it to you. I tried to do this, but they weren't able to accommodate since they had to much other laundry to do. Not a huge problem, but worth clarifying.

I don’t know where to start. Staffs are ok. The hotel was as SAD as other reviews claimed. I still decided to stay because it is the only available next to the event place, and expensive!

I would say that the maximum stars that I could give this hotel is 3 stars, however due to uncertainties, I could give them a total of 2 starts for now.

First of all, the location of the hotel is literally close to various shops, restaurants, and bars. If you're looking for a nightlife in such a diverse community, this is the best location for you.

Room is acceptable. If you just need a place to stay during your trip or if you won't care about the aesthetic of the place, and if you're looking for an OK budget, then this hotel can be good for you. They do housekeeping regularly somehow. Bedsheets somehow smells clean but looks old--our bedsheet even had cigarette holes in it. Moreover, the room can be tight that it may trigger your claustrophobia.

Regarding their service, when checking in, the guy in the reception was nice. I tried to address my concern regarding a partial refund since our trip got cancelled the previous morning but he just directed us to the customer service of our third-party booking agency. Next morning, I spoke to another guy in the reception about the same concern but I got the same response as well. No big deal on this since I understand that they wouldn't want to escalate things and they would like to avoid such misunderstanding as possible. But it's nice of him to let us know that there is a designated small breakfast room beside the reception.

At the end of the trip, I spoke to the customer service of the third party booking agency about the partial refund, however, they informed me that the hotel has decided not to proceed with it. Regardless of this, I still appreciate their accommodation.

TLDR; 2 stars hotel. Great location. Tight rooms. Clean but old bedsheets. Their free breakfast is OK. Just regular muffins, loaf bread, and coffee, etc.

We had a 12 hour layover in Montreal and were very excited to see the city. My partner booked a cheap hotel on some website so we could have a place to nap between our two red eyes, leave our bags while we explore, shower, and leave. Our expectations could not have been lower for this experience. Unfortunately the locks are missing on the room doors relying just on the doorknob lock which doesn’t feel safe so we didn’t want to leave much of our luggage in the room. There was also just a general lack of cleanliness and the place smelled of cigarettes intensely so a nap was rough. We knew it was a cheap place and didn’t expect much, truly. Perhaps if you’re partying on this street and just need a place to crash it’s fine, or if you don’t have much money and you’re really desperate. But otherwise if you can afford somewhere else I would not recommend this hotel. I am giving two stars because it was not pleasant but technically nothing bad happened.

My goodness where to begin with this awful hotel stay. Starting with the payment, you have to pre-pay for your entire stay upfront with no refunds. There are also no damage deposits to pay which very much explains the state of the rooms. Rooms are filthy and disgusting. Anything that touched any surfaces in that hotel were disinfected or washed upon returning home. Garbage was left in the coffee maker and under the bathroom counter from the previous guest. Room smelled awful, chairs and carpet were covered in unknown stains and public hair littered the bathtub floor on a supposedly clean hotel room. Towels were filthy with who mows what kind of stains. My bed had sheets that smelled of pee and pee stains all over the sheets. I had to go to the front desk to beg for new clean sheets to replace the pee stained ones. Once returning to my room and stripping the bed. I found out the pee seeped through the sheets onto the protective cover but thankfully missed the mattress. Mattress was about as comfortable as lying on a bed of rocks. Do not go to this hotel and save yourself the money.

Filthy dirty room.......dirty underwear left under the desk, dirty floor and beds, nasty bathroom with dirt and hair on floor and in the shower. Will not book here again....better to sleep in your vehicle or elsewhere.

Bf and I got into town around 2am needing a place to stay. We waited for about half an hour, called the after hours line multiple times and heard it ringing in the office behind the desk, but no one ever answered or showed up so we left and found a better hotel.

This place is filthy, smells so bad inside the lobby and had a horrible chemical smell in the room. The towels and shower curtain were dirty and stained. Light fixtures were broken and dirty. Chair looked like someone had peed on it. Bed was actually clean, shocking, yet extremely uncomfortable. Window and carpets need to be cleaned. I cannot believe they charge $169+tax a night for this place, honestly they should be ashamed. My bad for not looking deeper into the reviews. Save yourself the heebie-jeebies and book somewhere else. Wish I could get a refund.

Checked into the room. The place is pet friendly.. THATS the only positive thing. I found drugs in the garbage. I took the garbage container to the front desk.. he said he was sorry. Gave me an industial garbage bag to take back with me. 🤦‍♀️There wasn't even a bag in it. Pubic hair all over the bathroom. The sheets had not been changed, the bed was remade, and that not exajuating. I was not only afraid for myself , but for my furry family member, that he might pick something and get sick. I immediately checked out. After explaining the state of the room, the would not refund me the room.. the bed has a sheet and a bed spread.. not even a blanket. I then checked into Westlake Inn, same price. Clean. With a completely breakfast. Anyone reading this, just come to the Westlake Inn..

I booked this on my VISA Avion points months ago. It was a good deal so and trusted it. The day of my check in day came I received NO INFORMATION. It was clear that this was a airbnb type of situation with no front desk, which I was ok with, but the property did not provide a condo #, and combination to get into the building, Absolutely NO COMMUNICATION. I texted them and called them with no answer. I contacted VISA Avion and they could not reach the property either. I had to find alternate last minute accommodations. My check in day was yesterday and I still have not heard anything from these guys. DO NOT BOOK THIS

Recently booked this thru expedia for td because i was attending the eras tour, this place is amazing. The location is very close to the arena, and its in the heart of toronto, the communication was very smooth. Mind you, this is a rental place or airbnb so they will send you instruction about the check in process. It was easy to get in and out of the building. I had read horror stories about the elevator not working but we never had issues. There are i think 5 elevators at the 14 york. The room was very clean, my only regret is i wished i had stayed longer.

WARNING -- I am giving Aaira Suites one star because there is no option for zero stars. I arrived at the location and could not reach the property owner by phone or text although I tried multiple times. Travelocity -- the booking agent -- was also unable to reach the property owner. As a result, my daughter and I were left outside and had to book another place at the last minute.

As for Travelocity, they have effectively washed their hands and told me there is nothing they can do. I have been stiffed for CDN $260 for a rental unit I was never able to enter. This is a disgraceful way for Travelocity to treat a longstanding customer.

I would never book with these people again.

This place is awful.

3pm checkin on hotels.com, but when the day of my stay came, my instructions said 3:30.

I called the number on my way to the hotel 20 minutes prior to arrival as instructions stated, and nobody answered. Texted, and no answer.

I arrive, and nobody is there to hand off a key. Concierge tells us these guys never answer the call, and they get angry people staying here all the time.

Finally reach him, and he tells me I needed to use "WhatsApp" to message him, not phone or text. My wife and I then have to wait 30 minutes for somebody to bring us a key. I don't get into the room until after 4pm.

Inside the room, and theres dirt everywhere, and mold in the bathroom. Room is advertised with kitchen utensils, but only 1 fork, 8 butter knives and 4 spoons. Coffee machine has no filter, so couldnt be used. Two pots and a pan, non stick, but scratched to all hell, making them a health hazard to use.

Room was on the 32nd floor facing downtown Toronto. Everyone can see inside, and the curtains which were the vertical slatted type, were missing sections, so you can't even take your clothes off in your room with privacy.

Typical slumlord Air B&B owner. Avoid at all costs.

Had to cancel my reservation because no one was getting back to me about anything! (Calling and emailing) Didn’t receive an email about what apartment I was in or how to get in. AVOID. They will take your money an leave you high and dry. Very unprofessional. 👎🏻👎🏻 Expedia should drop this rental it won’t be good for their reputation.

My stay at Empire Suites in Montreal was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. From the beginning, I encountered nothing but poor service and complete lack of professionalism.

I called the front desk because the TV in my room wasn’t working. The receptionist sent someone up to repair it, but he didn’t actually fix anything. When I called back to let her know, she hung up on me. When I tried again, she finally admitted the TV couldn’t be fixed and that there were no other rooms available to switch into.

I asked if at least they could offer me a discount that could go toward my $52 daily parking fee, but she flat-out refused and said the price is “fixed.” Then, when I requested something as basic as a fork to eat my salad, she told me the hotel doesn’t provide that.

To make things worse, when I asked to speak with a manager, I was told there’s no manager available on Sundays. That is simply unacceptable for any hotel that claims to provide service.

I checked out on Monday, and I can confidently say I will never return to this hotel. Between the broken amenities, rude service, and lack of accountability, I would not recommend Empire Suites to anyone. There are far better places to stay in Montreal where guests are actually valued.

I am going through a very bad experience with the place. I had a booking , i paid a deposit of $250. Its been 10days now and i still have not gotten my deposit back. I contacted the hotel and they claim that i smoked in the room because they found empty cigarettes boxes in my hotel bin. This is absurd. Very bad experience on my part. I am still trying to get a refund for my deposit. I am sure i did not smoke in their establishment and they are trying to take my deposit

Close to the library and cool park. Staff at reception were kind and efficient with check-in process. The room and especially the bathroom were clean. The TV however was horrible and the price to park is sheer robbery $50 with tax. Also, zero gluten-free items for breakfast. Even simply just making sure there is one cereal item that is gluten-free would be SO helpful or yogurt, eggs.

We were assigned a room and given keycards. Before heading to a concert, we quickly went up to drop off my purse since I didn’t want to carry it. When we returned, our keys no longer worked. At the front desk, the concierge told us someone else was already in “our” room and sleeping there, and strangely, our room number wasn’t even in the system. At first, they couldn’t locate my purse, but it eventually “reappeared”—with everything inside except the $200 cash, which had been stolen.

They reassigned us to another room, but the next day (today), nothing was resolved. They haven’t reimbursed us or taken accountability, and now we’re being told we have to wait for higher management to get involved—despite this being entirely their mistake. Honestly, very sketchy vibes.

One of the Worst Hotel Experiences – Avoid Empire Suites Montreal

I rarely leave bad reviews, but my experience at Empire Suites in Montreal was extremely disappointing.

From the moment I arrived, the front desk staff were unfriendly, uninterested, and completely lacking in basic customer service. Not a single smile or effort to be welcoming. Any questions or concerns were met with rudeness—both in person and over the phone.

The so-called breakfast was nearly nonexistent. The coffee was absolutely terrible, and what little food was available was minimal at best.

My room had a broken thermostat, making it impossible to stay comfortable. On top of that, the daily cleaning service was completely unreliable. Some days I received clean towels, other days nothing at all—no consistency or communication.

This hotel does not meet even basic standards of hospitality. I would never recommend Empire Suites to anyone and will absolutely never stay here again.

Great hotel that is affordable in downtown Toronto! The outside of the hotel and the lobby look a bit deceiving because it makes it seem like they don't have much to offer. Although, our hotel room was great! It was spacious, came with a small kitchen (sink, stove, mini fridge, microwave, cups, and utensils), air conditioning, closet space, and a beautiful washroom that looks like it was recently modernized. The staff members were friendly and helpful. The check-in and check-out processes were very easy. I absolutely loved how I was able to walk everywhere. The hotel was central to all the places I wanted to go to.

I stayed at the Dragon Gate Inn with my kids. We checked in in the evening, so I didn't get a good look around the room until the next morning. One of my sons woke up feeling ill with a bad headache and sinus issues (he had been fine for all of the rest of our time in Toronto). As I looked around the room in the morning, I found black mold and water damage in the dining area and kitchen.

I brought this up with someone at the front desk and asked for another room. They didn’t move me to another room. She said they would clean the mold (which shouldn’t have been there in the first place!). When we came back later in the day, I found a few of the mold spots to have been wiped off (I could still see black mould embedded in the dry wall - all that was wiped off was what was on the surface). But many of the other areas with the black mold weren’t even touched.

I brought up being moved to another room again and I was told that wasn’t an option.

I asked for a refund from Dragon Gate Inn. They referenced their cancellation policy as the reason they wouldn’t give me a refund. I didn’t cancel my stay. The issue wasn’t on my side; it was on theirs. I asked them to remedy a HEALTH issue at their facility and give me a refund. They refused.

The rooms are not well taken care of, and obviously the management doesn’t care about the actual experience or basic health of those who stay there.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE!! For the sake of you and your family.

I reserved two nights for a really good price. The room was spacious for two people and clean. Even tho it wasn't fancy it was a good hotel. It even had AC , perfect for the summer. Service is good , they were nice and even showed us where the parking and room is. The location was just hard to find, but amazing nights 👍

I went in expecting the worst based on some of the reviews here. But we actually had a great stay. Towels and linens were freshly washed and smelled clean. No dirt or bugs.
Beds were even pretty comfortable
Shower had good pressure. Though bathroom sink was a slow trickle.
Staff was able to solve any issues and gave all the necessary information and were helpful, though stern.
Overall excellent value and great location. We'll definitely stay here again.

The inn covers the basics for a stay and is clean. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows. They even provided some basic kitchen ware: cups/glasses, bowls, cutlery and kitchen tools, etc. There was a mini fridge and mini stove.
I enjoyed the location the most, as everything you need (cafes, restaurants, shopping, grocery stores, tramway, etc.) is within walking distance; even the CN Tower is about a 40-minute walk. The transit system is very easy to understand and to use. Overall, it was a good stay.

This place is a scam. I booked through Expedia and even though I never stayed there, they still charged me. There is no staff on site – everything is virtual, and when you need help, no one answers. The “service” is nonexistent, the check-in process is frustrating, and they take your money without providing what you paid for.

I strongly warn anyone considering this place: stay away. They will happily take your money and offer you nothing in return.

God awful experience. We were given one incredibly dirty towel to share between two of us for three days (photo attached of what it looked like when we got it). We were also constantly getting locked out of the rooms by a terrible door system. The accommodations were absolutely filthy, especially the bathroom. It was all unbelievably bad.

If you'd like to experience the future of dystopian hostels/hotels, definitely book here.

Overall, this place has potential, and I hope this review does nothing but show the cracks in their foundation so they can improve, because the location is nice and the actual room is decent. But man, the service is terrible, the experience with the bathrooms was awful, and there were so many little things that made me want to find whoever I was talking to on the phone and have a serious sit-down with them. And overall, for them to call themselves a "Bed and Breakfast" is a joke. The "breakfast" that you get from them isn't even cooked; YOU have to order it before 11pm the day prior, and YOU have to cook the damn thing yourself!

From what I deduced, this is just another property to someone that they can lazily manage to get some money out of it, because people WILL pay and WILL ignore the reviews, like I did, allowing whoever owns this place to continue serving an experience that is disappointing and soulless.

Anyways, diving deeper into the experience, my room is right by the street and doesn't have a desk. That's on me, I recognize that. But on your website, include more pictures of your rooms, because there's only one picture for each room and the amenities listed are very general to what's included, stuff that every room has access to. Also, include some sort of map for your property. Sure, this isn't standard practice for hotels, but the reason I looked to this place was because I wanted something quiet and isolated where I could work. So with that said, I wouldn't have chosen this room if I would've known, as there are other rooms on the property that are away from the street.

Furthermore, when I arrived I had to figure out the stupid keypad system to get into places withing the property. There's no staff on site, so you're basically on your own. I ended up having to call their staff, waiting for them to answer, only to be told to try and find this email they sent that was under a different email address from the original email I received from "La Maison De Mile End" (oh yeah, this place goes by 2 names apparently, "Bernard Bed & Breakfast" and "La Maison De Mile End"). And what's the point of staying in a hotel/hostel if you have to do everything?

So after 10-20 minutes of going through their tedious check-in process, while I'm tired and cold, I finally get in but I'm struggling to find my room. Well, I have to go back to my email for all the details on finding my room, which it turns out is downstairs. And yes, while the information is in the email, how much more energy do I have to put into this thing when I should realistically just have to show up be checked-in by someone and be shown my room or at least told, in-person, where it is. Which leads me to another point.

I mentioned how the bathrooms were terrible as well. Well I show up, again it's late and I'm cold and tired, and the trash can in the restrooms looks like it's been rummaged through or something because there's toilet paper on the ground and it's lid is taken off. Also, the bath mat for the shower is soaking wet. This is where having someone on staff would've been great, because guess who ended up picking that stuff up, me. And then after that, I do my business on the toilet and I go to flush, and there's no water in the tank so nothing flushes. And I used the toilet upstairs this morning (3/15/25) as well and same thing. I ended up taking out the trash bag of the kitchen recycling bin, filling it with water, and flushing the toilet that way. But that's unacceptable; no stay should ever have a guest do that. Also, the bathtub looks like it hasn't been cleaned in ages, the shower curtain is all crusty. Anyways, I'm running out of room, but you get the gist. For the price I paid, my experience was unacceptable. Sorry if some of the pics and vids are gross, but that's the honest situation. Best of luck to whoever is running this place; I hope they can come to understand the gift that is serving others and taking pride in what they do.

Even if they promissed to give me back the +100$ they asked me to deposit, they never did. It’s been 3 months since. You can't even communicate with after your stay, because communication is restricted in a page they sent once you pay.

I stayed at La Maison Du Mile-End for 3 nights, and it was an incredibly disappointing experience. Several issues need to be addressed:

No Front Desk: There is no front desk or clear point of contact for guests, making communication nearly impossible.

Hidden Fees: Unexpected cleaning fees were charged that were not shown during the booking process. (They charge but deliver as the attached pics)

Poor Communication: I sent 5 emails addressing various concerns and only received one response. No useful solutions were provided for any of the issues.

Dirty Shared Bathroom: The shared bathroom was extremely dirty, with hair everywhere and no soap. It was unacceptable. (attached pictures)

No Breakfast Information: Although breakfast is supposedly offered, I never received any as they failed to explain how to request it through their app.

Bugs in the Room: I saw a cockroach (or a similar bug) in my room, which made the stay even worse.

I mentioned all of the above issues via several emails, but no helpful response was given. Overall, this was a terrible stay, and I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone.

The property manager was very rude when I arrived for my stay. When I arrived the stairs to the door were lopsided and broken and my son hurt himself. I called to inquire as to how to get in and was told I had to pay a security deposit of $150 CND, which was fine. By the time she called back to tell me how to send it to her, she decided to raise the deposit to $500 CND!!! She told me it was because I had too many bags. I explained that I didn't have that much money and that I had nowhere else to go that night and she told me to call the police. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!

Terrible!!! I arrived at 3pm and the code that was sent by email to unlock the door didn’t worked. I called the phone and a women said to me that she would arrive in 10 minutes to solve the problem. More than 40 minutes after she arrived and said “Oh, we needed to change the code so previous guests can’t enter the building, the code is ****”. At that moment, all I could think was why she didn’t tell me the right code on the phone?! I had to stay for almost one hour waiting on the balcony. Then, she told me to wait MORE because she said that needed to clean the bedroom!!!! I stayed downstairs waiting for the poor cleaning she did, just sweeping the bedroom and throwing some garbage away. The house is smelly, smells like dirty. The bathroom is awful, I couldn’t take a shower there because was disgusting.
The bedroom is REALLY HOT and they don’t turn on the central A/C. The pillows are dirty, the sheets smell like they were never changed.
I should have read the reviews here before booking this terrible place. I am traveling around North America and this is definitely the worst place I’ve ever been. I am lucky that I only rented for 1 night, otherwise I would have to spend more money to go to another place.

Do yourself a favour and do not stay here. I only took the room since every single other place was full, but I literally would have been better off sleeping outside.

The entire building was very dirty and the room was way too hot so you wouldn’t be able to sleep anyways.

I found the host to be rude and very reluctant to host us. Upon our arrival she claimed that my Toyota Tacoma was too big of a truck and that I had to pay double parking, and by parking I mean a patch of dirt behind the building riddled with garbage and waste.

The total cost for me and my friend to stay and park was $170 which I believe is absurd.

I recommend that nobody stays here ever again because the Somerset guest house is an excuse of a business.

No full kitchen as posted on website nor hotel booking sites, electric problems , no working stove or oven. Microwave goes out shorts out . No coffee maker in kitchen. Only electric teapot when electricity works. The girl at the restaurant counter is somewhat helpful. But don't expect them to come into your room and unlock your door while your trying to sleep . No one answers calls in evening so the girl at restaurant counter says she's the manager but I can't believe she came into my room and unlocked my door while I had to get sleep because had to sleep in my car the first night since couldn't get into building with code on door . So paid for a hotel room and sleep in a paid parking spot !!!! Called the guesthouse number four times and voicemail no one answers for emergencies like the Resuraunt front counter ( assistant ) says they would. Finally at 8am someone answers to give code to door and get into room later that morning only to be disturbed by front counter restaurant assistant !! By unlocking my door and coming to my bed and calling my name to wake me up. I was just falling to a good sleep at that time. So much for sleeping here . Some guesthouse , no privacy,broken lamps and bulb was taken out of my lamp when assistant came into my room when sleeping so I now don't have a lamp working again. Called Asst. To request a bulb but she said too late. Well I just noticed it missing when I came back to my room while I was gone during the day !! Didn't have any need for a light in daytime sun can beat straight into room window which makes it even hotter. I asked for a credit for first night since I didn't even get to use the room cause I was locked out of the building and she said she would see. I told her I may not stay here for the week since this is not up to proper standards for guests that I may be here only three days on the first day of trying to check in here. Since no full equipped kitchen ,no coffee maker which was requested in my comments to guesthouse.

Honestly if we’re naming things that were discusting in the rbnb we wouldn’t be done naming them by tomorrow and we have the pictures to prove it. There was broken glass all over the balcony and if someone were to cut themselves because of how incredibly discusting it was we could have filed a complaint against you. We also had to pay 60$ for parking which was not mentionned in the add. The oven didn’t work the fridge was gross, the bathrooms weren’t clean at all and the floors were covered in sand, it was obvious the place hadn’t been properly cleaned in months.
