I want to start by saying that I hate writing negative reviews. My husband and I had nothing but positive experiences with all of our other wedding vendors — everyone else went above and beyond for us. Unfortunately, this hotel was the single biggest disappointment, and only stressful part of our entire wedding.

I knew I was asking for something extraordinary, which is why I booked a year in advance and then confirmed everything again with management a month before. We were using the hotel as a wedding party prep space and were promised early check-in (8:30am) for two rooms. I met with Denis a month beforehand, and he personally assured me that both rooms would be blocked off the night before to guarantee no issues. He also said he would set up a guest room block for us, which I emailed about afterwards but never received confirmation on.

The day before check-in, at 2:45pm, I received an email from Denis saying that only one of our two rooms would be available and to call his cell if we had issues. I immediately called but got no answer, left a voicemail, and never heard back. My maid of honour ended up calling the front desk, and after a lot of back-and-forth, we finally managed to secure a second room — though not the one originally booked. I accepted this, as long as we had two rooms available for the wedding morning.

But on the actual wedding morning, we were told (again) that we wouldn’t have access to the second room until after 12:00pm. Completely unacceptable, since the entire purpose of booking a year in advance and confirming multiple times was so that the wedding party could get ready early. After more back-and-forth, we were able to get, yet another, different room about 30 minutes later.

The daytime front desk attendant was dismissive, unhelpful, and unprofessional — even saying, “I don’t know why they even agreed to this in the first place.”

I understand that this was not a typical request, but that is exactly why I confirmed it so many times in advance and was repeatedly assured everything would be handled. The lack of communication, accountability, and professionalism was deeply disappointing.

The only positive part of our stay was the night desk attendant, who was kind, helpful, and professional — a complete contrast to the daytime experience.

I truly dislike leaving negative reviews, but I wouldn’t want another bride, groom, or event host to go through the last minute stress that we did. If you are planning anything important, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

I stayed in one of the newly renovated loft suite room and loved it. The space was very roomy and had a really nice modern feel. The towels and bed sheet were very soft and the bed itself was very comfortable. The room was very clean. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Parts of the hotel was under construction, but it was still very clean throughout and I was not bothered by any construction noise during my stay. Between the comfy and clean room, to the great service from the staff, I would definitely stay here again.

Very disappointed with our stay. We stayed in a “family room“. I would expect that the kitchenette would have a few dishes in it and some cutlery, but there was nothing.You can tell that this room was basically a normal room and they took out the sofa, couch and put in two twin beds. In my mind, a family room should have some supplies in the kitchen because it’s obvious that you’re there with kids. Not even a spoon to stir your coffee.

Although the staff were pleasant, I was disappointed to see that the pool had been closed with no notices on the booking system. We used. $247 a night with no breakfast, no pool and inconsistent air conditioning is not worth it. We stayed in a family room and you couldn’t even shut the door properly because the bed was in the way. You can see that they probably removed a sofa bed and a coffee table and put into twin beds. The air conditioning doesn’t reach up front and it was so hot and stuffy. The walls are paper thin. We were beside a family who had also had other family rooms so they were talking and laughing well into the night. In my opinion, for what they offered when there’s no breakfast included, I think it’s exorbitant.

I had a very disappointing experience during my recent stay. I had a two-night reservation and informed the hotel in advance that I would be arriving late due to long travel. I asked if someone else could check in before me with my authorization, and I was assured there would be no issue. I even confirmed again over the phone before the evening, and the staff told me everything would be fine.

However, when the person I authorized arrived, the staff refused to check them in. They were told to wait until I personally showed up and were even told that the price might be changed. This caused unnecessary stress and delay. There was clearly no communication between the staff members, and instead of handling the situation professionally, the staff on duty showed no willingness to help or apologize.

The check-in process was not smooth at all, despite my efforts to make sure everything was clear in advance. Overall, the lack of communication, poor customer service, and zero apology from the staff made this a very frustrating experience. staff

I stayed at Sandman Hotel & Suites Calgary West for my wedding, and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish.

First, the hotel completely forgot about our rehearsal dinner booking. On top of that, the space we had reserved was under renovation, which we only found out because we reached out to confirm just eight days beforehand. No one contacted us to give notice, and we were left scrambling to work with them to move spaces at the last minute.

We also discovered—again, with no prior communication—that half of the hotel was under renovation. The pool and gym were closed, which was frustrating for our out-of-town guests who had been looking forward to those amenities.

Housekeeping was another low point. Despite being scheduled for a cleaning during our 4-night stay, nothing was done aside from making the bed. We were left without clean towels, full garbage bins, and a room that felt unkept during a very important weekend.

To make matters worse, staff were rude to members of my family who had called to inquire about early check-in. For a hotel that knew it was hosting a wedding group, the lack of professionalism and courtesy was unacceptable.

A wedding should be a joyful, stress-free occasion, but this hotel added unnecessary frustration and disappointment to what should have been a special time. I would not recommend Sandman Hotel & Suites Calgary West to anyone planning an event—or frankly, even just a comfortable stay.

This is our 3rd time staying here, once we arrived we noticed our AC was not working so I messages them right away and they sent someone within 10 minutes to get it up and going. Then after about 30 minutes another guy showed up to make sure it was still working. That was amazing that they came and checked on us again. I also requested a stand up fan for white noise and once we got back it was in our room. Excellent service, friendly staff and clean and comfy hotel! Always on your requests 100%

My husband and I usually stay at Best Western Hotels when we do a one night getaway. This one is one of the better ones we have stayed at. With my husband being disabled we always try to ensure we get a handicapped room. This room was great. The king size bed was comfortable and the pillows were actually pillows not what I call marshmallows. The bathroom was large and with the roll in shower made it easy for my husband to get into, not to mention the seat in the shower. The room and hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The only downside is that the front lobby isn't handicapped accessible no ramp to enter only stairs. We will be back when in the area.

I love that there’s a Tim Hortons next-door. For the price you pay for the room, I’m surprised that there isn’t a breakfast included, but can’t have everything, right?
The first floor rooms on the same floor as the pool are very damp and require a dehumidifier system that is currently not installed.
Do not plan on spending Monday night as Monday night staff have a history of complaints, I also experienced this.
Rooms are absolutely beautiful. I loved the archway to the kitchenette.
For being a pet friendly hotel, They need to do a little bit of work on sealing the holes in the walls- My cat found a hole that had been cut for an outlet not used, Luckily, she’s fat and I was able to pull her out.
Also, don’t plan on having an affair here, when i turned on the tv, it was welcoming guests that were not me.

We stayed for our son’s baseball tournament. Lobby was clean, Room was clean but a little rundown. Poor paint job on the ceiling covering up obvious water leaks. Bathroom was nicely updated. Customer service for this location was atrocious. Ravi the customer service attendant at the desk claims there was no eating or drinking in the lobby as it was policy of the hotel, when asked to see this policy he claimed it was securities decision. Meanwhile hours prior we were in the lobby with a group of parents having drinks and snacks without any issues. When asked to speak with the security team he could not provide a member of the department. Later in our stay a member of the staff came and accused our children of spitting on some elderly customers of the hotel and intimidating them without an adult present. When asked to see photos or footage of this the pictures provided by the security team were not even members of our team/group. I stay in a lot of hotels as I travel often for work and my kids sports. I can tell you do not stay in this hotel if you have any other option.

Pleasant clean motel. Employees who I contacted were pleasant and helpful. Rooms are efficiently designed without wasted space. Unfortunately I arrived late so didn’t have time to enjoy the swimming pools. Hopefully I can stay there again.

Overall the service was very good, but the hotel itself is much older and dated than it appears on the website. There are some 'PROS' - the location is excellent, the pool and hot tub were clean - although the pool is incredibly cold. The size of the rooms are nice for a family - lots of room to spread out. The carpet in the elevator is really dirty. The carpets and furniture in the room weren't clean either. The TV was really old - the bedding was old and didn't feel fresh - the kitchen was a nice to have but the appliances are from the 80's, and is not well appointed - no dishrags, no paper towels, no oven mitts, no baking trays, no utensils beyond a few pieces of cutlery, no coffee (had to ask), no salt and pepper... everything seems to be a 'request if you need it' model... no extra roll of toilet paper - had to call down and ask for some and was given one roll and told to ask for more if needed - ONE sheet of the notepad paper - if more needed, call and ask... I felt like we were on rations the entire time. Either they have had a lot of theft, are broke or just really cheap - my biggest recommendation to the management - replace the carpets for proper, hygienic flooring - and if not have them professionally cleaned - and replace the bedding - especially the pillow shams. I would recommend for location - but take your own pillows and don't expect to cook in the kitchen.

Rooms are clean. They come with a separate bedroom and living area, with a fully stocked kitchenette (fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffeemaker and kettle, along with plates, cutlery, glasses and cookware).

The pool is lovely and comes with a hot tub.

It is right near a tonne of food places and a Dollarama is literally around the corner. There're plenty of interesting places to see as well.

Is also pet friendly. My cats like it here.

For a three star hotel the service staff were amazing in customer service we found. The double bed that my husband and I were on was hard. Pillows very small. The teens had there own single beds and they found it very comfortable. The beds felt clean but I did find a pill under the dresser when I was plugging in my charger. The shower pressure was nice but the tub drain was bad and water fill to my ankles. The soap was in a dispenser and no label on which was what. The pool looked very clean and the hot tub was very hot. We didn't take advantage and we were sad we didn't have enough time to take a dip from our original plans. For three star hotel it was pretty good. Also there was McDonald across the street which was pretty for hungry teens at 1am.

Loved the location and service. Pool was well kept, hot tub was being tested when we stayed, but the sauna worked well.

Rooms were good but dated with full amenities, pans, silverware, the only thing I would have preferred is a few more essentials like a scrub, actual dish soap, and a few other things. Given the locale and the well kept property it was worth it.

Everything was awesome. Rooms were clean and everything worked as it should. 10/10 location right downtown. Reasonable prices. Gia at the front desk treated me and my elderly grandfather really well, she went above and beyond with recommendations and such to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible. Thank you Gia!! Ottawa was truly a slice, we'll be back soon.

Have to share bathroom with other guests, kitchen very small ,no tv and if ur claustrophobic like I am this is not the place for u. I stayed maybe a hour and booked hotel. Very nice couple who rent out rooms.

The place was spotless and comfortable, it has a very nice refreshing scent 😀. The owner was very welcoming and clear with instructions. He provided with some amenities (e.g., shampoo, body wash, 2 bottled water, towels was provided) and even some extra services for extra charge (e.g., snacks and transport). The bed we slept in was also comfy. There was a fan in the room, a small table, and nice charging spots. Truly thoughtful. It was lovely stay, 100% recommend.

I cancelled because I'll be coming from Sudbury and the weather is bad I don't want to drive it's too dangerous, so I asked for a no cancellation fee, but owner doesn't care. I cancelled the week before the booking.

Comfortable and clean guesthouse near McCowan/Steeles. The price on google is not accurate but it is quite reasonable compared to others that we were looking at. We shared a washroom with another guest which was fine because for us as long as its clean with a good bed that's all we need. The host mentioned it is always better to call first to check availability because they are on a couple of booking sites

We have to get an overnight parking pass online to park our vehicle curbside. That was hassle free as the host gave us clear instructions.
We were provided with free Wifi

The only problem we faced was that we came in late past 11 pm and we called on the numbers of the host. They never responded.We were stuck outside for 20mins in the cold. The host forgot to tell us the pass key for the door
( The pass code was on a printed notice in our room which we failed to see)
Then we decided to ring the doorbell and one of the occupants came to the door and helped us.

Overall we had a great time at Cozy homes and will recommend solo travellers and Couples to take this budget friendly stay

Chateau Versailles Hotel may have been a gem at a point with all their awards from 10+ years ago, but don’t get fooled by the photos, as even their deluxe king room with fire place is not as it used to be. (Photos probably taken many years ago). From check in the room was fairly dirty, a lot to stains, and the smell was not clean. I had raised the concern and requested another room but was told everything was full at both their hotels for the duration of my 4 night stay and the front staff didn’t give much care for my concern for the rooms cleanliness. There was a small nespresso machine which I enjoyed and the breakfast did the job, otherwise it was fairly disappointing. The room is trying to keep a Montreal classic look in some ways, but with a mostly renovated bathroom, a large tv and a nespresso, it seems like they can’t choose between a modern contemporary look or preserve its original roots with having old beat up stained carpet, furniture, walls and a thermostat that’s wired backwards with “sharpie” to indicate to use it in reverse (still never really figured out either thermostat in the small room). I will also note the bathroom door frame is very small to fit through, as a 5’10” man, I can’t imagine for anyone with a bigger frame than I to safely fit through the doorway. Coincidentally I ended up breaking my toe while entering my small room washroom, as the door couldn’t even open all the way in the washroom, so my foot caught the door itself. After breaking my toe, I had my fiancée request just some tape (scotch or anything) from the front reception staff, so I could tape my toe to protect it better, but there was little effort or concern made from the staff and pointed her to speak to the building handyman to see if he could help out?? I didn’t know guests are directed to speak to hotel handyman. Luckily he provided me with a piece of tape which helped my aching toe. Throughout my stay I saw guests at the front reception regularly complaining about issues with their rooms, clogged pipes, poor booking coordination, cleanliness, it’s hard to boast their positive aged reviews from 10+ years ago when in the modern day plenty of guests and I had so many valid complaints about their stay at Chateau Versailles Hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay here. I’m not sure why all the negative reviews. I booked this hotel for my daughter and I for the old charm and it didn’t disappoint. It has a very charming bed and breakfast feel. Our room was large and spacious (king suite), bathroom was clean, staff were so friendly and helpful, the included breakfast isn’t anything fancy but still great, and the location is perfect. Close to the metro and walking distance to lots! If you’re looking for an updated new feel this isn’t the hotel for you-if you’re looking for charm and cozy vibes this is a great option!

Good location but our room felt very dirty. Our bathroom door didn’t shut, there was paint chips everywhere, dim lighting, caulking missing/black mold in the bathroom. We paid $400/night and it certainly didn’t feel like it was worth that. It is more of a 2.5-3 star hotel in our opinion. Breakfast was very artificial with canned fruit, hard boiled eggs and croissants that were squished. We would’ve been more satisfied if we had paid $100/night but for the price we paid we were expecting a higher standard and quality.

definitely not a 4 star hotel. The hair dryer wasn't working, the bathtub & shower head looked old and flimsy, the hotel overall looked really old. No elevator, only stairs. AND they charged me 40 dollars parking fee which I didn't use. I saw it pop up on my banking account so I called and got a refund. If I had not called them, I would've paid for it without knowing. Also its pretty expensive, not worth the money.
The only thing I liked was the service and the location. Would not come back.

Charming accommodations, friendly staff. The building feels updated, but still has historic charm. Very convenient location for transit and downtown amenities. They were able to accommodate our bikes by storing on premises, although staff service was required to retrieve/store them.

I had a wonderful time during my short trip.

The house is old, so surely the facilities may not be as good as some newer places. However, it was still okay in general, and its age makes it a nice option for people who want to see what older houses are like (despite the age of the house in general, the washroom has been lately updated and was clean, as someone picky about washrooms, I'm generally satisfied).

The owners are very welcoming. I was a bit confused and nervous before my trip as I didn't receive instructions about check-in, but the whole process turned out to be easy and smooth. Simple vegetarian breakfast is included with no extra charge. The dairy products, the cereals, and the baked toast are great.

Generally good location with the Museum of Nature and plenty of good restaurants, pubs, and other food places around the property. It's not close to O Train but bus stops are within a few minutes' walk, and it's an easy drive from the airport.

Another thing I liked is that unlike some other B&Bs, I didn't find any stringent and hard house rule, instead things generally remained quite flexible.

It's worth noticing that the owners now have two (lovely) dogs, so for people who are not comfortable with dogs for any reason, better to notify the property beforehand so that you can make arrangements beforehand.

I stayed there by myself in april 2024.

The hosts are very nice and made me feel very welcome and safe.

The morning coffee is delicious.

I made my reservation weeks ahead of time and told them that I needed a gluten free diet. I received an email back telling me not to worry because their gluten free breakfast would be yummy. I was offered instant coffee, orange juice and a Clementine. Yummy..not. The kitchen was disgusting and the carpets were not clean. No air conditioning , no tv and a very cluttered environment. I was here for a conference so I had breakfast the nest couple of days at the hotel. My husband also went out for a good breakfast. Will not go back or recommend this B&B to anyone.

It's a beautiful century home well kept and clean. A great location across the street from the museum and within walking distance to the Parliament buildings, historical sites, and many other places of interest. What truly sets this B&B apart from the others are your hosts. A lovely couple who will treat you like family and make your stay with them special. They're knowledge of Ottawa and it's history is amazing. They will gladly reccomend restaurants, shops, entertainment, museum's, historical sites and many points of interest. I have stayed with them many times, this B&B is a gem, priceless!!!

Beautiful home, eccentrically decorated, warm and hospitable owners. I initially reserved because of the amazing proximity to downtown, but i will definitely be going back because of the incredibly friendly management. When you’re there, you feel like you’re a part of their family!

The rooms were older and could use them updating but that was overshadowed by the fact that the staff were outstanding! We would stay there again just based on that.
The location was perfect as well.
The breakfast was typical but again, the breakfast staff was great!

Great experience staying one night before a flight and utilizing their long term parking option. Friendly staff, clean comfy rooms. Came back after a week gone and my car battery was dead! Despite being almost midnight the staff was happy to track down a battery pack (it was dead too) and when that didn't work they helped us push the car to pop the clutch and get it started the old school way! Thank God for manuals.

Terrible stay! Stayed solo one night. When I arrived at the room the bathroom was dirty. Glasses of water on the counter. Toilet paper roll was broken and on the floor. Black stains all over the carpet.
The best part was another guest walked into my room around 130am.
Needless to say I will never return.

Checked in with a friend under his name, The rooms and the hotel itself are clean. I had a good rest night. In the morning of July 26 before I checked out I went to get breakfast at 9:24 there was a long line mainly family with children I waited in line and now it’s 9:30.
The staff members told us breakfast is over and started taking the down the setups and some of the prepared foods to the back room. I approached one of staff member to keep serving for those who are in line. The answer was “breakfast is over at 9:30” I tried to explain to them a dozen of us were in line before 9:30 but still no breakfast. I can’t believe this hotel is also part of Marriott.

We stayed here for one night before a flight. The room itself was spacious, clean enough, and generally comfortable, but definitely showing its age. Breakfast in the morning was extremely busy, and we noticed a strange stain on the wall in our room. We couldn’t get the Wi-Fi to work at all, and one of the shampoo containers had broken off the shower wall.

One big disappointment was the pool. We’d been looking forward to it, but when we went down we were told it was being drained and was unusable. They suggested the hot tub instead, but it had just been topped up with cold water, the jets weren’t working, and there was such a strong chlorine smell that one of my friends’ skin was burning and she almost felt sick from the fumes.

Overall, it was fine for a quick overnight stay—comfortable bed, convenient location—but the maintenance issues and pool situation were a letdown.

I'd read the negative reviews and they almost put me off staying here, but ultimately the price and availability meant I ended up at this hotel anyway. And I'm so glad I did. The reviews mentioned poor service, dirty rooms and showers, and other issues. I did not experience any of this. From receptionists to the house keeping staff, everyone was friendly and welcoming. The room was large, modern and clean. The air conditioning was fantastic. The bathroom was clean. A slight issue was that there was no hot water on arrival, but this resolved itself after a couple of hours. The shower head was old and the flow not perfect, but it was more than adequate and once the hot water was working again it was beautifully, painfully boiling if desired! The bed was comfy. Zero complaints and would happily come back again.

I was very upset with this hotel when I checked in - my room looked into the parking garage! They didn’t seem that busy, so this seemed unnecessary. However - when I expressed my displeasure - they asked if I wanted to switch (not worth it for 2 nights), gave me a late check out and breakfast voucher. I like a hotel that makes things right!!

The location isn’t great - not close to town or the airport, but they have an excellent shuttle service to and from the airport. The hotel is clean, has nice amenities (indoor pool, hot tub, gym) and the rooms are comfortable. There is a bar and restaurant. For a short stopover - it’s an excellent option.

Hotel staff are really friendly and polite. We stayed 4 nights. Breakfast is served hot and constantly replenished. Evening meals are excellent, we ate here 3 out of the 4 nights. One recommendation, don’t use the hotel taxi service, download an Uber app. We were charged $50 dollars into the city from the hotel one and only $19 on the way back with Uber but there is a free shuttle too and from the airport which is really convenient.

We accidentally forgot a couple items in our room and the staff went out of their way to check if they were in the lost and found. The staff then bagged it up and kept it in storage until we were back in Calgary and we could stop by and pick it up. We appreciate this type of great service from a hotel! Great stay in a clean room - no complaints!

This is a late review for my stay on August 6, 2025. I was initially checked into a room that was already occupied, with someone else’s luggage inside (photo attached). Thankfully no one was present, but this is unacceptable and could have been a serious situation.

I’ve stayed here a few times before, and one of the elevators has always been out of service. The only working one has no floor display and leaves guests waiting for a long time. For a hotel of this size, this is unacceptable. Overall, I would not recommend this place.

We stayed around the flights. Nice staff. You can arrange with them for transportation from the airport to the hotel and back. Standard rooms but clean and practical. Excellent breakfast that the kids enjoyed very much. The pool is great - especially the slide - an excellent activity with the kids. Free parking. We had to fly early in the morning and they prepared bags with breakfast to take - which was an excellent and noteworthy point.

Breakfast was good and the staff there was attentive. We stayed in a suite on the first floor and the room smelled off like it previously allowed smoking. The room was not very clean. I found several super long black hairs throughout the room. There was visible mildew growth in the shower and the jets in the bath were damaged. Everything you read about the towels at the hotel are true… see other reviews. There were no towels at the pool. I asked the front to bring some to the pool and 30 minutes later they didn’t arrive. I had to go out soaking wet to again plea for pool towels.

We stayed here for 3 nights over August long weekend along with my in laws. Our kids had fun in the pool and the waterside was great. BUT we had several issues while there:
1. The parking lot has TINY stalls and only two handicapped stalls. We needed a handicapped spot and because there were only two stalls we were never able to get an appropriate space. This was a significant challenge. There was also broken glass in the parking lot from smashed windows. The stalls were so small that vehicles couldn't fit in properly and people had to take up more than one spot so less people ended up being able to park.
2. There are NO TOWELS. This was a problem in our room and in the pool. Three days in a row we had to go to the front desk to get pool towels so we could get our kids out of the pool. There were 4 people on our reservation and we only had 2 towels in our room. The first night, we asked for more towels and were given 2 pool towels instead of bathroom/shower sized towels. The second night, we again asked for more towels and were told we would have some right away. We called down to the front desk an hour later and asked where the towels were and they said they would be there soon. After two hours we finally gave up and went to sleep and dried off with hand towels after a shower. The next morning we stopped by the front desk and said we needed the correct amount of towels in our room when we returned that afternoon. We were assured that there would be 4 towels in our room when we returned. We came back 7 hours later, and there were NO towels in our room....no bath mat, face cloth, hand towels...nothing. We were incredibly frustrated at this point. We spent $300/night to stay there and had to beg for enough towels and had to shower with hand towels. My in laws had the same problem as well. No towels in their room and no bath mat or even a hand towel.

I will say that overall the hotel was very clean. Our room was big and worked well for a bigger family. But the front desk staff were not helpful at all and the parking lot and lack of towels are enough for us to not stay here again and warn other people away. We spent $1000 staying here for 3 nights, and for that amount of money we shouldn't be begging for towels.

This is a nice hotel with friendly staff. My kids enjoyed the pool (which is nicely sized for a hotel) and waterslide. Negatives is the hotel never seemed to have enough towels for everyone (it was at capacity the nights we stayed) and downtown is kind of far away, They also had a technical problem during our stay and couldn't provide us with two key cards.

Stayed here for one night and our stay is not at all good, the room was smelly not properly cleaned. The front desk lady was welcoming but when we entered the room it smelled bad. The shower is not working properly, the floor looks dirty. At the bottom of the table (near TV table) previous guest spill something it stinks and sticky cannot walk. One start because location was good. Few points nearby also breakfast is okey. Dining area is specious. Parking space is limited and not big enough to park your big sized SUV. The walls are very thin could hear from other room, not recommended. In the nearby area many other good options available.

I reserved a room for 4 people for 4 nights at this hotel, and I am extremely disappointed with the experience.

We arrived late at night after a very long trip (around 11 pm) with big luggage and lots of personal items. At check-in, they gave us two key cards. When we got to the room, neither card worked because they hadn’t even been activated. We had to go all the way back down to reception just to get them fixed.

Once we finally entered the room, the situation got even worse. The room was unbearably stinky. I couldn’t tell if it was from the carpet, the bedsheets, or both. To make matters worse, there was no window that opened to the outside, so there was no way to get fresh air. It honestly smelled like rotting garbage. As we started unpacking, the smell became even stronger, and it was impossible to tolerate.

By 11:30 pm, my partner asked me to pack everything again so we could request a different room. We went down to reception, explained the situation, and asked to change rooms. At first, they refused. After insisting, they made us wait until 12:30 am, only to say the only option was a refund. But at that time of night, after such a long journey, finding another hotel was simply not practical. We were exhausted and stuck in an unacceptable room.

This was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. The cleanliness of the room was unacceptable, the smell unbearable, and the staff completely unhelpful. I couldn’t even sit on the bed because I didn’t know where the odor was coming from.

First thing in the morning, I will be speaking to the manager. This stay has been a nightmare, and I absolutely would not recommend this hotel

Quiet place away from the downtown madness. Hotel is a retrofitted hotel, old structure with new features. I am very sensitive with smells and the carpet has an odor...bearable. my room needed more lighting for night hours but that probably would cost too much. Overall it was a descent place.

I had a wonderful stay at Holiday in Montreal. The staff at breakfast were absolutely exceptional – their service and attention made the mornings truly enjoyable. The rooms and facilities were exactly as expected for the price, very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The overall environment was pleasant and welcoming, offering great value for money. My special kudos go to the breakfast team for serving with such quality and warmth. Highly recommended! This hotel has an amazing team for food and the restaurant. Will visit again

Very nice hotel. Great breakfast selection, clean rooms and great sized pool. Super close to everything too.
My only complaints are the bed sheets do not fit properly, we ended up in a nest of sheets all around us. There's also no change room in the pool area which was inconvenient but not a deal breaker. Overall would go back again.

Don't get fooled by seeing their lobby that their rooms will be good...their rooms were like shelter home rooms..we didn't get tv remote and intercom phone..then we had to request to get those..bathroom floor were very dirty even carpet..unbelievable...i usually stay in holiday inn but this hotel room didn't feel like welcoming. Plus breakfast was not included. Plus no water available in the lobby or dinning area...when my daughter went to front desk, they said "bathroom water is drinkable"...i had to wait till morning when gym and pool area was open..then my daughter got water from gym in early morning for me....
Worst experience in holiday inn for the first time..

The big selling point for this hotel is location. The room we had was large with two rooms and a living room with a pull out. The mattress on the pull out was in rough shape and the room did not have sufficient linens. The room was also darker and in need of maintenance. Now onto the good… $16 uber to the casino! Great walking and people and very kind staff. The underground parking is small but very convenient and reasonably priced.

Great location in a really hip part of town (near china town, saint laurene blvd and Saint Denis). Hard working, friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are a good size and comfortable. Included breakfast is good and quite popular with the guests. I could hear 10 different languages being spoken at breakfast. Hotel also has parking at a reasonable rate. Good amenities overall…

You’ll see some reviews saying that the hotel needs a refresh. While that is definitely true I balanced that with the more affordable room rate. Though I will say that for the life of me I can’t understand why any hotel has carpeting in the rooms. Carpets never look clean in a hotel.

The service completely sucked. House keeping didn’t come the first time. When we asked a staff member at the front desk she said she would let someone know to bring fresh towels, cutlery, and to have the garbage emptied. We come back after being out for awhile and everything is still the same. This happened more than once. Later on at night we went somewhere again and came back after requesting for the same thing again. The staff member at the front desk claimed that we had our do not disturb sign on which is completely false since we took it off before 10:00 AM. No one should have to request over and over again. We should be getting what we paid for. Overall the location was good, the rooms are outdated and the bathroom and carpet wasn’t the cleanest but it was spacious. The service definitely could improve.

Decent rooms in a central location. A short walk to many restaurants and attractions. The staff is friendly and helpful. Complimentary breakfast is decent and restocked frequently. Each room has a Keurig, microwave, and fridge. There is no working AC in the room, but there is a vent and door to the courtyard that opens.

I would recommend this hotel. It was a lot more than I was expecting for the price. The room was actually basically an apartment with living room and kitchenette.
There were some upkeep issues with the room nothing major, but there was kitchen cabinetry used in the bathroom, which means it has started to warp. There were light switches that seem to do nothing and not be connected to any lights. The coffee maker was not working, and the child protective locks really prevented enjoyment of the Juliet balcony.
The location was great near Chinatown, the University, old town and the pier among other districts. There are some shady, looking streets nearby the hotel, though best to stick to the main street at night.
The breakfast that was offered complementary was nearly buffet sized. Offering toast, bagels, cereals, fruit, yogurt, eggs, a meat variety, baked beans, tea, coffee, and juices. It was much nicer than I was expecting it to be.

Great hotel at a fair price! My check-in experience was phenomenal, largely due to the service of Mr. Anas who had helped us navigate through some booking delays. Hotel and amenities itself are great! Beautiful views. Rooms are spacious and cozy. Overall, we felt very taken care of and will definitely consider booking again!

Located close to where we needed to be, the hotel hit the spot on affordability, but of course with affordability there were some caveats:

1) Lobby is beautiful, but windows looked like they needed to be cleaned. The floor to ceiling looking at the park was impressive.

2) Check in process took a long time, large line on a Friday

3) Only one elevator was working, it was noted renovations were occurring me.

4) Gym had no AC and room AC was not working and intake looked filthy and blocked.

5). Service was great from everyone I encountered.

6). We did the breakfast buffet package and the breakfast itself was very underwhelming a la powdered eggs, and minimal else that was appealing to me. Suggest a pass.

At first glance, the hotel looked very nice and clean from the outside, and walking in felt quite fancy. However, things quickly went downhill after check-in. The elevators weren’t working, so we had to take the stairs — which were unfinished and extremely sketchy.

Our room was clean, but it lacked basic amenities like a microwave, which was disappointing.
Later that night, around 10 PM, we tried to use the elevator again. A staff member told us to follow him to a different one. He led us through what felt like the backrooms of the hotel and brought us to a service elevator that was very dirty and even more sketchy than the stairs. He left the two people I was with in the elevator, and as it went up, it made terrible noises. When the doors opened, we found ourselves in yet another unfamiliar area and had to figure out how to get back to our room on our own.
Overall, our stay was not a good experience. While the beds were comfortable, the lack of functioning elevators, unsafe stairwells, and strange elevator situation made us feel uneasy. We wouldn’t stay here again.

We were really excited to find a great deal, we stay at the pan pacific in Vancouver frequently and it is always a beautiful stay, however this is not the same experience at all. Its is very out of the way, and it is so run down. We booked a premier room. Nothing premier or updated about it. The bathtub is definitely original it is so tiny and old. There is some crappy updated tiling around it but its just a quick cover up. Tiny tiny shower. RV size. Just a very odd experience for what you think is a high end hotel but it is not. The elevators are not working 1 out of 3 works and its a long wait because of this. Even our breakfast was bad. Cold eggs over cooked the worst toast just cheap the cheapest version of everything. Slow service. I feel bad for the staff because you can see they are struggling and they are apologizing but this is a management issue. Im highly disappointed and will be going elsewhere next time forsure.

I had expected much more of a Pan Pacific Hotel. This property has seen better days! Superficially it looks clean but if for example, you look at the windows in the restaurant and at the sliding patio door in our room, it’s immediately obvious that they hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time! In a word, they were filthy! The property is quite dated even though it has been cosmetically updated. The elevators are old school, the carpets have seen years of being walked on … The service is lacklustre. The front desk looks business-like but they’re inattentive. Finally, the location is inconvenient for most things in Toronto. Don’t be fooled by the name. This isn’t anything like the Pan Pacific Hotel at the cruise ship terminal in downtown Vancouver!

What a perfect little old school pensione in a fantastic neighbourhood in Montreal! Yes there are shared bathrooms - yes there is some noise bleed from the street and concert venues - but hey! You are in a vibrant spot full of shops, restaurants, galleries, and coffee shops/bakeries, the rooms are soundproofed, and the bedrooms, shared areas and bathrooms are super clean and funky! And did I mention the price was right?!? The bar/vegetarian restaurant downstairs is great - you get a food discount during your stay. The manager Tammy was super friendly and enthusiastic - thanks for your hospitality! Feel like I found a secret spot that I want to tell everyone about!!!

One of the rarest gems in the city -- this tiny unique hotel offers great cost, location and staff in one. The management is amazing, the cleanliness was super, and the rooms were very nice. For those with mobility issues, be careful of the narrow stairs up to the rooms, which is common with old-school buildings. You can get off at Laurier statiion from the subway and then walk down St. Joseph to the corner of St. Laurent and you're pretty close. I would stay again every time!

Lodging is on 3rd floor right above Casa resto/showbar. This is an ideal spot for anyone looking to immerse themselves into Montreal's art/music scene. Located in NW end of the Plateau, bordering on Mile End. Delicious food and drinks downstairs and nearby, plenty of nightlife action within 15-20 min walk. Potentially a bit noisy until closing time downstairs (you may want earplugs if going to bed early), but very peaceful during the late hours. Rooms are basic (no tv, no mini fridge...), but very tidy and cozy. For the price and location this was the perfect fit for my needs.

In the words of another review: “Weird. Which is ok if you are one.” They meant it as a an insult but I mean it as a compliment. This is a unique place and I’m so glad we stayed here! Cool decorations and furniture inside, and access to great restaurants and shops outside.
Yes, there’s a bar and live music venue below. Yes, the bathrooms are shared. Yes, there’s no parking included. That’s exactly what they advertise.. so if you need a perfectly quiet, cookie cutter room maybe try a holiday inn instead.

For the price and location and if all you need is a warm and comfortable place to sleep, this is the spot. We booked one with a bathroom, because we’re adults and are not into hostel life anymore, the other rooms had shared toilets. We pushed the two beds together into a luxurious Alaskan king bed and slept like babies, and a down pillow was a nice surprise too! The room was clean, though the floors under the bed needed some attention. The space is cute with vintage vibes and it’s nice running into other travellers. Would definitely stay here again. No real parking nearby but we found underground within a 10min walk.

This home is super comfortable, clean and quiet. The management is very homely and accommodating.

This guy was a liar and did not go here he is a rip off no hot tub 7 people living downstairs I was there for 2 hrs and he took 100 from me and I’m taking him to court. He told me 1200 a month. I drove from Edmonton and he charged me 500 a week

One of the best Airbnb you can think of in North West of Calgary, Canada. Very neat place and affordable as well.. The location makes it attractive as it’s just 21 minutes drive away from downtown, where the action is 🤩

Robert was an excellent host, and super friendly. The home was definitely cozy. Room was small with a private bathroom. The bed was a double size but the bedding made up for the size with lovely fresh clean bedding. A coffee maker in the room might be a good idea. The house is within a short taxi ride ($23.00) to the airport. Beautiful back yard, wish I could have explored it more.

I loved the cared I received from the owner who waited for me as I did not know the place and I struggling to find the place.

Stayed 2 nights, loved it. Most and foremost, the staff. Everyone we interacted with went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. It's an older hotel, located on a busy intersection, and the windows are old and thin. However we were not bothered by street noises. Our room had a door directly into a next room. Of course it was locked, but it was not soundproof, so we heard our neighbours watching a TV show with non-stop screaming girls. Wasn't too bad, and it ended at some point. The restaurant is currently under renovation, but there are numerous food options in the area, and many at great prices. There is a gym and a functioning swimming pool with no showers, washrooms, or change rooms. I gave it 5 stars not because this was the best hotel we've ever been to, but because of the price-quality ratio and the staff attitude.

Would never stay at this hotel again!!!! The area is very shady. The hotel is very dirty and smells. The room was dirty and very outdated. Very tiny rooms. Felt like you were staying in a dingy basement.

There is an elevator but you can’t get to it from the lobby with your bell hop cart. You have to go outside the building down a fairly steep hill in the parking lot.

If I could give this hotel zero stars I would !!!!

• Very poor cleanliness: bathtub peeling, dirty carpet, dusty curtains and windows.
• Shower water pressure too strong, sprays out of curtain.
• Toilet old, toiletries low quality.
• Kettle full of limescale, coffee machine dirty – old grounds in my drink.
• Bed sunken and uncomfortable, no plug on one side.
• Thin walls, very noisy.
• No lift – had to carry heavy suitcases upstairs.

Overall: Not worth the stay. Would not recommend

This place felt like a luxury stay to me very clean, private, and comfortable, with a nice shower and toiletries provided. I know others may have different standards, but after a long 16 hour flight and a few meetings...it was exactly what I needed. The location is convenient, right by the highway and only about 10 minutes to downtown by train. Worth the price for sure, and check-in/check-out were smooth.

We checked in around 11:00 pm on 20th September for two nights, they allotted room 116 but the AC was not working we try to call at the reception but the phone was not working so we went to the reception and they said we provide you the portable AC and what they provide us 1 small Fan so we again went to the reception so they changed our room to 128. And the AC of room 128 was also not working so we called at reception so he said we provide you the portable AC as soon as possible and they provide two fans around 1:05 am. It’s too late for us so we adjust that day. On 21st September they shifted us to 310 and the good thing is portable AC is already placed here. But the problem is Hot water is not coming in Morning. We need to checked out early but the hot water is not coming so we stuck here and not matching our plans.
Please don’t book this facility as all rooms conditions are not good , service is really poor and the reception guy is rude here.

I just finished a weekend trip to Montreal and stayed in this hotel.

The hotel was overall good. It was a clean and safe place to stay. Some of the perks were it's closeness to the Via station, I could walk there easily saving money on cabs. It was also close to transit and restaurants and within walking distance of Mount Royal. The Cora's being attached to the hotel was a nice touch. I was at first annoyed at the lack of complimentary breakfast but the food at Cora's was far superior to any complimentary breakfast and if you were there before 8 you got a great deal. I was able to get big breakfast of eggs, sausage, potatoes wedges, toast and coffee for $10. Good deal.

There were some negatives and some weird things I noted. So I can't quite give five stars. For one the guy at the front desk when I checked in was very rude. Every other employee was very pleasant to talk to and helpful.

The room was also a bit odd. The sheets while clean were worn, one had a small tear in it. The washroom was very small as was the sink making it very difficult to wash my face without getting water all over the counter. The weirdest part was the towel rack was located inside the shower itself, on the wet side of the shower curtain and the shower head was one of the handheld ones so you had to be very careful which direction you were aiming it as you could easily spray all the towels. Even if you did not use the hand-held option you could easily adjust the shower head to spray the towels. Get a careless kid in there and all your towels will be soaked. There were also few places to hang towels so if you're traveling with friends you will have to get creative.

The other odd thing was the door to the hotel room would not close automatically. If you let it go it would slowly close...but stop short of actually closing. You needed to be very careful to actually pull it shut before going out for the day.

Overall my stay was positive despite the observed negatives.

Pretty mediocre but fine if you need to stay in the area. Very small, pretty dingy room that wasn't particularly clean-- clump of hair on the floor by the bed, extensive paint chipping on the baseboards, tons of scratches on the furniture, visible mount for a carbon monoxide detector that didn't have the detector on it. Reception staff were nice and helpful.

My window faced an interior rooftop (inaccessible) enclosed by the rest of the building, making for a pretty depressing view. I'd recommend looking elsewhere unless you get a great deal and set low expectations.

I was very pleasantly surprised, my room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel was in good condition. Central and convenient location.

My only gripe is the restaurant-bar in the lobby closes super early, like 9pm on a Friday and Saturday, so I couldn't get a late dinner or drink there... but it doesn't seem like that's within the hotel's control.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Upon arrival the room was very dirty with sticky stuff above the head board (pictured) but they were able to make a quick room switch. The other room wasn’t much better unfortunately it was still dirty and the comforter sheet had brown stains all over.

I would recommend staying for a short trip, we stayed for 3 days which was not comfortable. Close to shops which was nice and staff allowed us a late check out.

Reception staff we're fantastic and helpful with slightly late checkout. Rooms were clean/good size and comfortable. Some noise from street but not too bad. Great location for shopping and general city attractions. Some homeless around but not threatening just give them some room. Overall no problems at all, very good.

Stayed here for a night with family. The gentleman at the front desk was not so friendly. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was great. Parking is free. Has all the amenities. Liked the fitness center. Enjoyed our stay. Would recommend this place.

I’m writing a late review but please read!!! My family stayed here a year ago and we had $1000.00 taken off my husband’s credit card for a cracked tv. The tv was cracked before we got there but we did not notice the crack until further in our stay as we were site seeing in Banff. When we told the front desk, the hotel took off $1000.00 from the card without telling us and accused us of breaking the tv with no proof. My husband noticed the charge on his credit card and asked the front desk worker the reason they charged us. His response was “ I don’t believe you.” We came to Calgary to go to Banff and site see, not watch tv. I talked to Freida, and it felt like an interrogation. She was so awful and cruel and blamed my kids. She told me that her cleaning staff “would never make a mistake when inspecting a room for damage” and that it was our fault. We called customer service and the complaint went no where. We had to contact customer service/ guest services in the USA by e mail to get anything through. We talked to a higher up and was reimbursed after explaining this theft and horrible experience. We didn’t write a review a year ago because the lady calling from guest services in the USA was so amazing and handled my situation with empathy and compassion. I randomly checked this hotel for reviews and sadly read people being charged for “wallpaper damage” and “damage to a mirror” Their stories are similar to mine. This review is under my name but my husband booked the hotel. (In case they claim don’t have our name on file and this is not a real review.) It is the truth, and please take pictures of your room when you arrive!!!! Or please go elsewhere!!

One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. The room was dusty and the air conditioner was uncleaned, which is shocking for a Hilton property. I have stayed at Hilton group hotels in many locations, and they usually maintain a premium standard of stay, but this one was far below expectations.
What made it worse is that my 3-year-old daughter became sick from the dusty room and AC, sneezing continuously and feeling nauseous throughout the night. We couldn’t sleep at all. I even requested the receptionist for a different room and was willing to pay extra for an upgrade, but the hotel was fully booked and unable to accommodate us.
To add to this nightmare, the next morning the hotel began serious external renovations—not just aesthetic work but intense restructuring—with drilling starting right outside our wall at an early hour. I asked the staff to at least postpone the drilling until 10:00 a.m. because of our situation, but they refused and the loud construction continued.

As we drove up, we were a little put off, but were pleasantly surprised when we got inside.
-The hotel is updating the exterior but the website didn’t mention this. However the inside was nice.
-Our room was spotless and very nice. Very roomy.
-Breakfast was quite decent.
However, the reason we chose this hotel was because it had an indoor pool. We had been camping for 5 days and wanted to relax and swim a bit. The pool also was closed to renovations per a note on the wall. We love Hilton, but chose this one for the pool option. We do feel we were alighted due to their website not having amenities updated

Don't forget when booking that there's two Hilton's around the airport! Their staff were courteous, able to help with basic necessities. Their pool was pretty gross though, it needs some repair, cleaning and lighting. Breakfast was alright, make sure you wake up early for the good stuff! Besides the pool, the place is clean.

I was very skeptical in the beginning looking into the recent poor reviews. It was a last minute booking as I was attending a conference and all venues close by were sold out.

Pros:
1. Excellent serene view from the 10th floor.
2. Well spaced rooms with a nice kitchenette.
3. Clean bathroom.
4. Quite and sound proofed rooms.
5. I had to just cross the road to reach the wonderful ottawa river.
6. Very close to city centre with transit taxi service that requires you to just press a button to book taxi in seconds.
7.Lifts were working fine

Cons:
1. The front desk should be trained to be polite. I could sense selective behaviour by one of the white staffers who used to generally sit in the mornings. She was not helpful at all on the first day ( 20 sept at around 3.00 pm) when I reached thorougly jet lagged from India. Her demeanour was rude and unwelcoming. The other staffs were all good.
2. Cleaning of rooms were not carried out daily
3. Towels were not replaced daily
4.Except for buffet breakfast, no all time dining facility. We need to go out or fetch ramen in the small store near front desk.

Overall it was a pleasant stay for me.

We were thoroughly disappointed from start to finish during our visit to the hotel. Upon arrival, there is very little space to park a vehicle to proceed to check in. Upon arriving at the front desk, we were presented with a sign that read that the pool is out of order indefinitely, a big setback as our children had their hearts set on swimming. It would have been nice to be informed of this matter ahead of time, as we would have booked elsewhere. We were checking into two rooms, yet were told that both rooms needed to be charged to the same credit card. I had asked earlier in the week if our two booked rooms could be side-by-side, and the staff said they would do their best to accommodate my request. They advised to phone the hotel the same morning of our check-in, which I did, to remind them of the request. The result at check-in: one room on the seventh floor and the other on the eighth. With the little parking available in the hotel’s exterior lot and a lack of parking available in the area, the front desk staff informed us that there was underground parking available for an extra fee (a surcharge that did not end up on our final bill at check-out).

The elevator ride up to our room was a scary one. It sounded like it hadn’t been serviced and was overdue for one, as it made a loud noise, similar to an overloaded and unbalanced washing machine. There was a note on the side of the elevator that read “If you get stuck, press the Open Doors button”. My daughter was scared of the elevator and asked to use the stairs during our stay as she felt unsafe in the elevator.

Once we got up to our room, we immediately noticed sights that speak loudly for the one-star rating given. The bathroom was poorly cleaned, with streaks visible on the tub as if it had been cleaned with a dirty, dry rag. We pulled out the pull-out bed and quickly placed it back, refusing to sleep on what came across as a disgusting setup with dirty sheets. To make matters worse, one of the red couch cushions had white stains on it, possibly indicating semen.

Our sleep wasn’t much better. The room’s temperature could not be changed as the thermostat panel was non-functional. Due to our room being located near the elevator, we were treated to the sound of the noisy elevator going up and down well past midnight. The noise resumed again around 4:30 in the morning.

To make a long story short (TL;DR): I’ve stayed in nicer two-star hotels compared to this four-star establishment.

I stayed at this hotel from September 19th to 21st, booked through Expedia. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing for a 4-star property.

On check-in, I was given Room 1111. Within an hour, I noticed the room temperature was not adjusting at all, despite setting the thermostat to 18–19°C. I reported the issue to the front desk, and maintenance confirmed that the thermostat was not working. At that point, I was already trying to sleep, but I had to go back down and request a room change.

The receptionist told me no similar room was available. I asked about an upgrade or any other solution, but he said he could not do anything without his manager and did not even attempt to contact the manager that night. The next day, I asked again for help, but I was still left in the same room with no resolution.

Later, they moved me to Room 1213, but it had the same issue—the temperature stayed at 23–24°C and could not be adjusted. I was given a fan, but it was loud and made it difficult to sleep. On top of that, the blankets were uncomfortable, and overall I did not get proper rest during my two-night stay.

For the amount I paid, I expected much better service and basic comfort. Having to “survive” two nights without proper heating/cooling in a 4-star hotel is not acceptable. I strongly feel that the hotel should have ensured rooms were in proper working condition before assigning them.

While the room that I stayed at was nice, my relative and I specifically asked the front desk to have the house keepers not come to our room to clean our rooms early in the morning and to have them come later at 12 noon. Yet, every day during our stay, the housekeepers kept coming into our room at 9am.

Then our final night staying, our room not only wasn't fixed and not cleaned, no one collected the dirty towels that were in the bathroom. My relative and I tried to explain this issue to the front desk but the two people at the front desk when we were checking out were extremely rude, stubborn, and disrespectful trying to act like the housekeepers did nothing wrong and tried to deny any responsibility, and they tried to insist that we screamed when we were using a calm but assertive tone to make our point and no one else who was around pointed out that we were screaming.

The front desk clearly doesn't know how to take criticism well. Please do not stay at this hotel if you're visiting in Ottawa or Gatineau.

Parking $14 and breakfast $16 not included with room, the room was dirty, with sticky surfaces, grime and hair in the bathtub, a peeling chair etc. Pool is closed and we were not informed before check in. View was terrible (construction site and office buildings, not a thing worth looking at). Staff told us breakfast was included and the next day said it would be $16 per person, and didnt offer to do anything about it. Just terrible service. Would never book again.

Lovely place with amazing staff. Thank you so much N- and S-. I had such a lovely trip. So helpful. Facilities were great and economical: backyard patio, parking (extra cost but reasonable), and bicycle cage. Everything was clean and lovely. Kitchen was clean. Bed was a bit too soft, however. Vibe of the people is one of exploration and adventure. I got to bike the Ottawa bike trail to Hogs Dam and see many other major sites because of the house's great location. Very awesome for a traveller with an adventurous mindset. A+.

Such a cozy and welcoming place, feeling look like a home! The hostel even has its own little gallery — I left here a painting I made myself, first time in life, because place make a safety feel 🎨. In the common room on the ground floor there’s plenty to do: game console, TV, synthesizer, chess, library. The kitchen is great for meeting people from all over the world 🌍. There’s also a lovely veranda with a view over the city center and the main castle 🏰. Super friendly staff, beds with charging ports, and bathrooms and kitchen are always stocked with all the essentials. The atmosphere is just amazing!

Lovely setup and a comforting and homey interior. The staff were incredibly helpful and I felt facility wise this hostel has everything you can expect for the price. The rooms were cosy and had AC but my only critique would be there was no storage for me on a top bunk (I ended up sleeping with water bottle, book etc in my bed) nor any cupboards for me on the ground

Hotels like this one feel so much more warm and personal compared to all the other corporate options. I was in and out for a night but it was a solid place to crash and also central to the collection of venues for the Ottawa Animation Festival. I would come back next year for sure

The owners are amazing people, beds are what you pay for. It's a hostel and so you share rooms or pay for your privacy. The kitchen is fully equipped. During the summer there's plenty to do outside or bbq in the backyard. So many good memories in this place. I'm grateful for the time I shared with everyone I've ever met here. Best stay ever.
