My experience with Davidson Jewels (Ian) has been beyond the five stars allocated!

From the first encounter, Ian warmly introduced us to the world of creative jewellery design, taking the time to build a relationship, trust, and patiently supporting / respecting the process of decision making.

We know we made the right decision working with Ian. He “gets it” and made us feel so comfortable through the entire experience. I adore the rings he created and receive endless admiration from others. It is truly one-of-kind.

After looking for a wedding band that would work with my engagement ring, we decided to go the custom route and chose Davidson Jewels because Ian was helpful and reasonably priced. Last June, we went in to place orders for one custom platinum bad for myself and one titanium band for my fiance, for our wedding in October. On one occasion Ian needed to keep my engagement ring, so was good about contacting us quickly for a follow-up, but he's been challenging to get a hold of and we have needed to initiate follow-up appointments every other time. By September, we still didn't have any rings, and luckily we ended up needing to postpone our wedding otherwise I would be more frustrated. However, we haven't heard from him since early September. We have tried emailing and received no response, and his listed phone number is coming up as disconnected when you call. His hours aren't consistent and by appointment only, which also makes it difficult to just pop by.

I'm revising my initial review as we were finally able to get a hold of Ian and pick up our wedding bands.

Ultimately, we're happy with the wedding bands themselves, but weren't thrilled with the service and wouldn't recommend Ian and will not be using him again. We decided a 3 star review (changed from our initial 1 star review) would be fair as the quality of work was quite good, but it was frustrating that the response to our review (which we only left because we were at a loss for how to get a hold of him) was that we could email him.

It's an incredibly bizarre process to need to follow-up repeatedly as the customer and check if something is ready, especially for a product like custom jewelry. The onus shouldn't be on the customer to guess when something might be ready and have to follow-up, especially if there isn't an easy way to get in touch.

We got the sense that what we were asking for wasn't the most exciting commission, so it just wasn't a priority. Based on other reviews you might have better luck or a better experience if you're asking for something that's a little more complicated and intricate, and he can really have fun working on what you're asking for. Recognizing this, we're not actually sure if he'd even want this kind of work, but we have some other jewellery that needs some resizing and repair work that we likely would have asked Ian about, but will be going elsewhere for.

Ian worked with me on a custom engagement ring from start to finish. He was always very positive, encouraging, and professional. He added details to my vision that I didn’t even know to ask for, and in the end my fiancé was THRILLED with the final result.

Ian was highly recommended by someone who has bought few of his pieces before. I was extremely impressed from the moment I walked in, Ian was absolutely lovely to talk to and work with. He even stayed open late to talk with me about the ring, my ideas and how we could incorporate my girlfriend's (now my fiancé) personality into the ring. His work is exceptional. My fiancé and everyone who's seen the rings he made for me have all commented on its beauty and craftsmanship. Truly ecstatic. I will be going to Ian for all of my jewelry in the future.

Wow! I am so happy I found Dazzle Basket! Calgary based and the customer service is amazing. I ordered last minute to send to the hotel some guests are staying at and without any problem at all it was done and delivered within hours. They were great about putting in some substitutions for things that needed to be better for them to have in a hotel room. I haven't seen the basket yet but the folks at the hotel tell me it was gorgeous! Thank you so so so much! I just saw a photo so have added it below.

Visited for our anniversary dinner. We made our reservation a couple of days ahead of the actual date, so we could check-out the live jazz on the patio. Overall, a great experience. The food was excellent. The service was great. Because the restaurant was busy, there were some lags in service times, but not too bad. The live music was a bonus. We shared an appetizer and each had different mains. The quality of the food was excellent. Would highly recommend Deane House.

Such a beautiful and classic place! We had one of the private dining rooms for our party and it was beautifully decorated and had a nice library with classic vibes. The server was very nice and attending and greeted us warmly with refreshing drinks. We had a three course meal and they were all amazing. I specially loved the chocolate cherry dessert.

Loved the set up, lots of people though very noisy. Which is fine but I could barely hear my aunt from across the table. We went for afternoon tea, cost about $130 not including gst and tip. The tea was good, the scones were warm and very tasty. The clotted cream was good and the peach jam was phenomenal. The tray consisted of a lot of different foods. My favourites were the sandwich, curry pie, raspberry tart, and ginger and rhubarb tart. The food was either very bland or extremely salty? Especially the salt! My aunt hardly touched most of the food and I tried to but I was drinking tons of water after each bite. You think they'd try their food before serving it. Very disappointing at the price you pay. I mean everything was salty even the cheesecake. Was a once in a lifetime experience, 100% could've been better. The people who served us were lovely and everyone was kind. Just disappointed in the food.

We have been to The Deane House a few times, this was our second time enjoying the Chef's Tasting Menu. Absolutely divine from start to finish, especially considering I have an egg allergy! Our server Liam was so welcoming and took great care of us. He ensured the Tasting menu would be an option, given my allergy, by clarifying with Chef John Beddoes. Thank you so much for making sure I had the most delicious dinner! Erin was also a lovely part of our evening, thank you for everything!

We finishes our birthday celebration trip to Alberta with dinner at Deanne House.

We were served by Liam and were surprised by a birthday card signed by the entire crew on arrival.

We especially loved the mussels (the birthday girl actually wanted seconds but I didn’t allow her to), the scallops and asparagus were also wonderfully prepared.

We finish it off with the steak and pork chop as our main. We enjoyed the nice atmosphere during the evening.

TIP: The main entrance is facing the Main Street and one must pass through the garden to get there. See video if you are not sure which building it is!

The service was great, the place looked lovely and the deserts were amazing.
The raspberry brownie was so chocolatey and goey, but well balanced with the raspberry.
The coconut cream cake was one of the best cakes me and my husband ever ate, it’s light and the flavors are well balanced.
Can’t wait to go back to try other cakes!

I didn’t realize they were closed when I went to the store but the lady saw me and kindly accommodated me so that I can have a cake for our anniversary dinner. She iced and decorated a raspberry lemon cake for me and it was lovely. The icing was so smooth and creamy. Will definitely plan better next time and order ahead of time for our next occasion!

I ordered chocolate cake and cheesecake. Definitely aesthetically pleasing, good for gifts. However, the price is not reasonable and did not follow with exceptional taste. The customer service was mediocre at best with non helpful answers when asked what is the most popular choice and why.

Ordered my grandmother's 90th birthday cake from here since she wanted something light and without a bunch of "oily buttercream". We opted for the lemon cream cake and it was perfect! It had a delicate lemon flavour and the light cream went great with it. The exterior had crushed meringue that was so soft and added a bit of texture. The fresh flower topping was great as well but they can't guarantee exact colours if you have a colour scheme in mind for your event. Enjoyed the cake overall but since the price point is a bit higher than other bakeries I think we'll reserve Decadent Brulee for very special occasions.

I ordered the coconut cream cake for my sister’s birthday and it was absolutely delicious - I would highly recommend this for people who like coconut and a cake that is decadent without being too “heavy”. Yes, it’s on the pricey side but the cake is enormous, beautifully decorated and tastes heavenly so I think you get what you pay for.

I used DVF for my wedding sept 20, and they did such an amazing job. I couldn’t stop looking at the flower arrangements all day! I highly recommend to anyone looking for wedding flowers.

I cannot express how much I think this store is wonderful. Not only are the flowers beautiful and long-lasting, the staff are also incredibly friendly and helpful. I used Deer Valley Florist for my recent wedding and everything turned out amazing! The staff really took the time to understand the vision and make helpful suggestions about types of flowers and greenery that would work well. I ordered greenery for long tables, as well as bridal and bridesmaids bouquets. They really went above and beyond to help bring the vision to life.

They are also great for everyday flowers! I have ordered arrangements from here as gifts and they have always been really well received. They have a great assortment of small non-flower related gifts that you can buy in-store, a nice way to round out a gift of flowers.

Definitely my go-to florist, and a bonus that they are all just the kindest people!

Very happy with this floral shop and delivery! I am currently overseas and purchased flowers to be delivered to my friend for her birthday. I was worried because she lives in a condo building that delivery could be hard but they followed instructions and called before delivering so that I could ensure she received them. She was very happy with the bouquet and I’m very happy with the service. Thank you!

I ordered flowers to be delivered, then I found out that the recipient wasn’t going to be home the day of delivery. I called the shop and the lady I spoke with was so lovely and accommodating! She helped to ensure that the flowers were received at a time that the recipient was home. The recipient said that the flowers were absolutely stunning! Would definitely use again AND recommend!

In a sensitive situation, the staff at Deer Valley Florist really came through for me. They called to confirm the order and the instructions on the order. They stayed in touch with me leading up to the delivery and afterward. I truly appreciate how they navigated the whole interaction. Very kind. Very professional. Very understanding. I would absolutely recommend them.

This review is based on a recent conference I hosted at the Deerfoot Inn & Casino. Our event was exceptional thanks in large part to the wonderful service from the team at the hotel. Maddie was our catering manager - and she was incredible! She was patient, accommodating, responsive, and went above and beyond to ensure that our event was a success. Chris from A/V was also amazing - he gave us great ideas, helped us bring our own ideas to life, and really gives off a "don't worry, you can count on me" vibe. On the day of setup and the day of the conference, every staff member we encountered was the same - genuinely looking for ways to exceed expectations. I would not hesitate to recommend this venue to anyone looking for a great place to host an event. By far the least stressful event I have ever planned, because it was easy to have confidence in the team here! Looking forward to coming back!

Christine was absolutely amazing! She was friendly, attentive, and made sure our table had everything we needed without us ever having to ask. Her positive energy and warm personality made the dining experience so enjoyable. It’s clear she truly cares about her guests, and she went above and beyond to make our visit special. Everything was clean, and good. If you are over the age of 25, or larger than 140 lbs, don't fool yourself into thinking you'll get a good night sleep on the pull-out couch. You will find your knees higher than your butt.

I went with a sports team and got the sports rate discount-booked the mini suite so my roommate and I could have our own space. It cost the same as the other option (I also did this through the hotel website). Got to the hotel-not a mini suite, just a king and the pull out sofa bed in the same room. I called the front desk, said my reservation email specifically lists separate spaces, and that I had a mini suite. Was told no, this is what all the sports rooms are. I didn't push it, but still thought it was weird that the website would offer it if it's not actually something you can get, and that my confirmation email said it would be a mini suite. Breakfast the next morning, a teammate told me she loves her MINI SUITE that she booked, Using the same website and code and price that I did. So yeah, did not appreciate being gas lit like that. Could I have walked down and pushed it? Yeah, probably. Did they send me a bellman with all the pillows I wanted for the sofa bed? Yes, he was absolutely great.

I can’t say enough great things about the service here! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and valued. Christine was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in helping me. She went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed, and her attention to detail was second to none. I left feeling like I had received top-notch care. If you’re looking for a place that truly cares about its customers, this is the one. Highly recommend for Christine

Incredibly beautiful hotel with TOP TIER service thanks to the awesome team of staff! It feels like a REAL hotel with housekeepers coming by to check if we to swap out our towels…she even had bottled water to give us! Front desk crew are phenomenal and we have never received such swift and dare I say *perfect* service before, which says a LOT because I’ve never left a bad review (lol!) for any hotel! Room service is quick and delicious, and there are SO many options for entertainment from the water park to the casino and a TON of food and music entertainment options IN HOUSE to choose from! Serious kudos to the staff here, they make it an EXPERIENCE as opposed to just a “stay.” If I could give 6 stars I would!

Working with Daniel at DeJong’s Insurance has been unbelievably smooth from start to finish. He took the time to speak with me on the phone to discuss the coverage I needed and clearly explain the varying rates for each insurance provider. I truly appreciate everything he has done for us. He is quick to respond, willing to go the extra mile, and always ready to answer any questions along the way. What could have been a stressful process felt easy and seamless. I highly recommend Daniel and the team at DeJong’s!

I had a really great experience dealing with Jennifer, I've had my home insurance with her for a while now and I had just bought a used car privately and needed insurance the same day to drive it home. I contacted my current car insurance provider and other places but no help at all. Jennifer was quick and responsive and was able to get it done for me the same day. I wouldn't assume she can do that to everybody everyday but she pulled through for me when I really needed it. I don't usually write reviews but here I am. Just shows you how happy I was with her service.

They automatically renewed their insurance without their knowledge, even though they had a 1-year contract. After a month, they sent a message that you owe $125. Although I did not order new insurance. After clarifying the relationship, it turned out that they sent me new insurance documents that I did not receive because of the Canada strike or whatever else they came up with. I do not recommend contacting them

Had a very poor experience with a condescending customer service rep. Out of the 5 or 6 insurance companies and brokerages I called for quotes, this was by far my absolute worst experience. Do yourself a favor and reach out to a more professional company.

I can't say enough about how smoothly and quickly Carol was to get our insurance on a new home. She went beyond my expectations and made it happen in time for our possession date and at a very reasonable cost.

We stayed one night, it was very convenient. Just couple of minutes of walking after you return your rental car. Staff were very friendly and the room was very nice with modern furniture and the biggest tv I have ever seen in an hotel room. Next morning our flight was delayed and instead of checking out at 11am they extended us till 2 pm which was very helpful. We just crossed the street and walked to the terminal and everything was smooth. Highly recommended.

I have stayed at this property multiple times for work and am yet to encounter a single issue in the past. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was deeply disappointing and upsetting.

After a long flight, I checked in and requested a package that had been arranged to be delivered to me. This package was both important and time-sensitive. I HAD EVEN CALLED THE HOTEL IN ADVANCE to confirm that I could have it sent, hoping to avoid any complications. The associate confirmed that this was fine and that there won’t be any issues. Phone call time stamp 3:51pm.

To my shock, the front desk associate cheerfully stated, “I declined your package because you weren’t listed on the manifest.” This was said with a smile, in a way that most would perceive to be dismissive, unprofessional and quite frankly, condescending.

The manager on duty, “T,” responded in a scripted and rule-driven manner, forgoing any form of genuine empathy and offering no practical solutions. While I understand that hotels have procedures, these particular “rules” seemed unreasonable and not guest-focused. The situation was handled without acknowledgment of the front desk employee’s inappropriate tone or the impact of the error.

As a result of this incident:

- 35 minutes were wasted without progress, causing me to miss dinner after a 12-hour workday when the airport restaurant closed.
- I felt mocked and belittled by the front desk associate’s comments.
- The manager’s approach escalated the issue rather than resolving it, failing to acknowledge the hotels shortcoming, address unprofessional conduct or offer genuine assistance.
- I am now without my urgent package and will incur additional surcharges and shipping costs.

This interaction left me so frustrated that I left the lobby in tears, something I have never experienced in all my years of travel. I sincerely hope senior management reviews this matter and takes fair, professional, and corrective action.

Follow up update 8/10/25: hotel management had confirmed that this would not have happened had I call in advance. It’s unfortunate that despite providing a time stamped record of this call, the hotel elected not to take responsibility for this shortcoming.

Essentially in the airport, just right across from the terminal. Really good option for an extended layover. One of the few airport hotels where you can actually walk or run outside because of the sidewalk that leads to pedestrian trials off airport. Amenities are top notch as well if you want to check out the hotel gym. Comfortable beds and great water pressure.

First and last time staying here.

I booked a one-night stay through Expedia for $625, including breakfast. We arrived very late—around 1 AM. The moment I walked into the hotel, I was overwhelmed by an extremely strong perfume scent throughout the lobby and common areas. I'm allergic to strong fragrances, but I tried to push through check-in without complaining. Unfortunately, I became very sick shortly after, developing a severe migraine that ruined the entire purpose of my trip. I had to leave the hotel as soon as possible the next morning.

Despite prepaying through Expedia, the hotel charged my husbands credit card again for the room, and also billed us for breakfast, which was included in the original reservation. This kind of double-charging is unacceptable.

The breakfast was below average, and because we arrived late, we also paid a ridiculous amount for two salads from the bar. The room itself was underwhelming for the price — no hotel robe, and uncomfortable bedding made with sheets tucked around a duvet instead of a proper cover. At this price point, the quality should be much higher.

To make things worse, the manager's customer service was dismissive and offered no real support or apology for the situation.

Given the health issue, the billing errors, and the overall poor value, I believe I’m entitled to a full refund. This experience was deeply disappointing from start to finish.

This all with a 3 week old baby.
I deserve a refund but they refuse.

Very convenient option when returning a rental car and you have an early flight. Bed was super comfy - fell asleep ASAP. Room was clean.

However: The Holiday Inn that I stayed in the night before for half the price was just as good and the bathroom amenities and coffee maker were superior!

Staff was accommodating, however some of the accents/language skills were poor and made it hard to communicate with at times.

It's a great experience here to buy a used powerful car. I'm the bimmer and owned two BMW cars. Now, I have the third one.
Thank the sales and financial team. Help a lot. Btw,the coffee was so good.

They helped me achieve a lower rate for my condo and car, Thank you again.

Dave was absolutely amazing with my trans daughter who was struggling to find a hairstyle that she liked. He was fantastic, with words of encouragement, beauty tips and so much more! Dave took the time to not only find a style that was wonderful, but did a quick make up tutorial and brow wax which completely transformed her! Beautiful place to spend time. Whenever I come to shop at Simon's, I always stop in the gardens. The koi fish pond was closed due to renovations (sad) but they have updated it so much! Very relaxing atmosphere. Great little indoor park for small kids, very close to the food court. Sitting at the tables inside the gardens even though a public area, still felt very private. Always have a lovely time when I go!

A really relaxing setting, I love it! Great to sit solo or with someone and catch up! I grabbed some food and a brew from the food court to the right of the gardens and then found a table within the gardens to eat and relax. The gardens are made up of water features, plants and usually fish in the deeper ponds too, however none this time. There is renovation work going on and has been for years one way or another as I was last here 8 years ago and the gardens were closed!

A beautiful, peaceful spot in the heart of downtown ,perfect for lunch breaks or a quiet escape, especially on cold days. The greenery is lush, and seeing little sparrows fly around made it feel extra special. There’s also a small playground for kids.
That said, a couple of things could be improved. The garden is located on the 4th floor of a mall, but there weren’t any clear signs or directions to find it ,I had trouble locating it, especially since I was in a bit of a rush. Also, the washrooms in the garden lacked basic supplies like hand soap and paper towels, which was disappointing. Still, a great place to unwind!

Beautiful space in the downtown core. Must visit. I went for an event,and explored the place. Plenty of places to sit, relax and for an informal meetings. A good place for visitors 😃. I guess it would be great to visit in winter 🥶 cold outside and warm tropic inside. Variety of plants.

A great little indoor oasis, good for an especially hot or rainy day. Sadly when we visited the koi pond was closed for renovations, but all of the beautiful plants and flowers and water features were enjoyable. Grab some grub at the food court nearby and soak in the ambience of the greenery.

Working with Devour Catering was an outstanding experience. They catered our 40th anniversary party at our home. They had great suggestions for the menu, and paid attention to every detail. Our guests had many compliments about the food, which was simply delicious. And I can’t say enough about the team that prepared the food and made sure platters and bowls were always full. They went above and beyond to be helpful, freeing me up to simply enjoy the party. Thank you very much Devour. It could not have been better.

For many years I have been so grateful to the Devour Catering experts who have delivered excellent catering for my small and mid-sized entertainment events. Food is beautifully prepared, delicious and portions are perfect for the appetizer hours I have arranged.

Last night, with weather being as pleasant as it was, we were able to finally host an event for our near neighbours and the Executive Team at Blackline Safety at our home.

The array of excellent appetizers and food, the glassware, cutlery and even two members from Devour Catering coming to my home serving the food and ensuring bottles were open for beverages made the evening pleasant and seamless..

Working with Jasmin in the prior weeks to select gluten-free as well as nut-free options for our guests resulted in numerous compliments for the excellence in both quality ad flavours.

Everyone had a wonderful time.

Toward the end of the evening, I was bery grateful to see the trays were transferred to our dishes, and my entire kitchen was cleaned with all food put neatly away.

I can honestly stay each time I have had the pleasure of working with Devour Catering, I have been exceedingly impressed with how creative, original and delicious their food items are. Thank you for making our event spectacular!

I highly recommend Devour Catering for any catering needs. I recently hosted a small family gathering following the burial of my grandson, and from the moment Jasmin answered the phone, I felt reassured and supported. I had the pleasure of attending a wedding this weekend catered by Devour. I can say without hesitation that booking this crew is 100% a good call. As a wedding dj, I have experienced my share of catered meals, and Devour is top of the heap! Every dish of every part of the evening was to peefection, including dishes that you wouldn't expect to travel well. Beef, chicken, asparagus, potatoes, grilled Caesar salad, etc. etc. etc. All were vooked perfectly and delicious.

I was very impressed with the selection and pricing of the lights. We never felt pressured to spend more or go over budget, which made the experience even better. Used them to do a new house full of lights. We ran into a few hiccups, mostly due to mistakes by the builder and electricians. Gurpreet was responsive and quick to offer up solutions to fix the issues. Would highly recommend!

They’ve got really good collection and prices aren’t bad. Got these pendant lights from them and it has brought that glam feel which I was looking to bring in my kitchen.
My main reason for dealing with them was that they treat and greet you well and are very welcoming. I dealt with Raman.

Service is quick, pricing is reasonable, but the lady that served me misunderstood what I want. I had 2 copies on a legal size paper, the 2 copies looked similar but not identical. I asked if they can print the legal size snd cut in half. They end up just use the upper part of it to print. Communication and clarification needed to be improved.

So, I was there for my Permanent Residence photo,in the morning,there was no other customer,no rush.The guy clicked my picture ,first one was not good and I told him to click new one, eventually he clicked new one too. Then it was digital photo he sent me the first one ,not good one, My one eye was CLOSED. My immigration lawyer rejected that photo.I came from 1.5 hour drive .Last but not the least I called and emailed them ,NO ANSWER.

I have been recording with Diamond Needles for the past 3 years, and most recently now in March 2022. This studio is fantastic to work with. Shawn is a professional at what he does, and makes you feel right at home in the studio. He really cares about every detail of the song, from the instrumental to how the emotions are conveyed in the vocals and all the details in-between. Shawn takes the time to get to know your project, the story behind it, and works with you to meet your goals while providing his own insight and expertise. I'm continuously being asked who mixed my vocals on my songs, because of how great he makes it sound. Highly recommend Diamond Needles to musicians of ALL genres in Calgary.

Extremely professional and one of the most talented audio engineers in Calgary. Shawn is a very experienced in the music field, and cares about everyone he works with. I always look forward to our sessions, and I have seen Shawn and his incredible DJ skills, always keeping the dance floor busy and keeping everyone happy. He has never disappointed!

Shawn caused complete chaos a month before my friends wedding. If you are considering booking him be careful, he was banned from the wedding venue from being disrespectful and unprofessional to staff. He failed to inform the bride and groom upon booking, deposit payment and confirmation. They were told from the wedding venue not even a month before there wedding causing them to not have a DJ for their wedding. Shawn provided no help and refused to give them any of their deposit back after they had spoken to him about being banned. As a young couple getting married this money meant having a DJ or not. Shawn should not be a wedding vendor and I would highly discourage anyone from booking with him.

Shawn from Diamond Needles caused EXTREME stress and chaos weeks before my wedding! He is BANNED from our highly rated, professional venue! He didn’t tell us this, he was actually ready to take our full payment when I found this out. He failed to give our money back after he falsely represented himself being able to play for us when he knew our venue. We would never have booked him otherwise. He continues to deny any responsibility for his actions becoming banned from our venue and leaving us without a DJ for our wedding day because he is keeping our money. Extremely unprofessional, slimy and unreasonable. Do not book with him if you want a genuine, trustworthy vendor!

Phenomenal DJ for our NYE wedding. Brought all the best vibes and music, read the room and had everyone dancing all night. Accompanied by CK on sax, these guys had our NYE wedding feeling like a NY jazz bar during the dinner service. Not enough great things to say!

100/10 service!!!! The owner is so very kind and took time out of her day to bring my ring straight to my home! And when I got the ring it sparked even more than when I first bought it! If I could give this business more than 5 stars I would in a heartbeat❤️❤️ The owner is so amazing and I can’t express that enough, she wasn’t all business and actually took the time and talk with me like a friend. I truly believe this business is the best I have seen so far and I will definitely be back for my wedding ring and I will be referring diamovida to anyone I can!!!

Kanchan was absolutely amazing throughout the whole process. I purchased a loose diamond from her website and right after buying she emailed to let me know it was no longer available. She immediately reached out with alternative options and they were better grading and color and was amazing enough to price match! My Fiance and I were stunned and very happy to hear. She even met up with us to show us the diamonds so we could compare and choose the diamond we eventually fell in love. She’s got top notch service and has a very quick turnaround for time! Definitely would work with her again!
