My husband and I stayed here for a few nights, after attending a reception at the same location. We were most happy with the historic nature of the neighbourhood and with the quiet surroundings. The home is close to Laurier House and Strathcona Park and is in easy walking distance of the University of Ottawa and more. We really enjoyed exploring this area of Ottawa. The host was very friendly and approachable and our breakfasts were varied and delicious! Thank you Margot.

I celebrated my twin girls baby shower last Saturday and it was amazing. The hostess Margot really made my baby shower special by organizing the food, the games, the warm welcome party to my family and close friends. All of my guest were astonished of the building and were very pleased of the service. I definitely will come back to her to organize more social events.

A family operated B&B in a very interesting historic area of Ottawa conveniently only about 25mins to walk into the centre of the city or a bus stop 200m away. Timberhouse is a wonderful historic building that you will remember making it a must-stay if you like that sort of thing. But as with such buildings, there is compromise to be had like squeaky floorboards and older fittings. Margot, the host, is everything a B&B host should be. We had a terrific and memorable stay. Lovely breakfasts too. Thank you, Margot.

Timberhouse is architecturally unique and a historic stone and residence in a quiet part of Sandy Hill. The proprietors are very personable and accessible. The rooms are large and gorgeous—my mother’s room was at least 2 times the size of the average hotel room, had lots of windows and a great view of the garden, below. I understand this b&b is a fairly recent acquisition and the proprietors are systematically updating interior spaces, which strongly evoke a “Mission-style” ambience. The kitchen/breakfast space is modern and bright. It’s a great destination that we will certainly revisit👍👍

Overall Amazing Experience for an event that was hosted at this beautiful and Historic home in the heart of Ottawa. Would highly recommend to anyone considering this venue for an event or for any of their bed & breakfast services !!!

We stayed in the plateau and our apartment was excellent! The terraces (yes, multiple!) made for great evenings to enjoy the city views and relax. The host and team were hands down the best I have ever seen in all of my rentals. We will stay again!

I highly recommend Unique Stays' Pop Sanctuary on Saint Denis. It is so close to Sherbrooke station and very close to wonderful Mamie Clafoutis which had amazing fresh bread, baguettes, croissants and coffee.
Communication and check-in was a breeze. I really appreciate the constant communication to make sure my stay was going well.
The unit is on the top floor with a lot of stairs, so I wouldn’t recommend if stairs are an issue.
It is beautifully decorated and looks just like the listing. A very cool and funky vibe!! And sooo clean! I enjoyed the record player playing the Beatles Abbey Road as I enjoyed my coffee in the morning. I appreciated the tea and coffee provided.
I felt safe as a single female with the key pad locks for two of the entry doors and a key lock for my unit.
I would definitely stay here again and recommend this to all my family and friends. Thanks again for my wonderful stay.

Great location central to touristy stuff and not so touristy stuff. Place was well accommodated and staff was responsive. Apartment was clean and AC was potent. Rooftop deck was nice when it wasn’t so hot and thankful for the free laundry service especially with it being so hot! Would recommend and would stay again

This was a great apartment for my visit to my daughter at McGill. Beautifully decorated, nice kitchen, comfy bed, lots of light and great location - easy walk to McGill and close to shops, restaurants and cafes of the Plateau. I didn’t go down to old Montreal this trip but it would just be 30 min walk. Hosts were very responsive, gave incredibly clear directions to access unit and I felt very safe and secure. I will definitely stay here again!

I had such a nice stay at Unique Stays in Montreal! The location was perfect, in the Plateau area and within walking distance to many nice restaurants, a natural grocery store about 10 mins, and about 20-30 mins to old Montreal.
The space was very clean and came stocked with everything needed to cook, and enjoy a beverage on the patio - including ICE!!
The beds were extra comfortable, and the overall decor was very inviting. It felt just like home!
I can’t wait to come visit again!

A Truly Enjoyable Stay at Unique Stays – Would Return in a Heartbeat

I spent several nights at Unique Stays in Montreal and was very impressed. The space was bright, clean, and tastefully furnished with a modern yet comfortable touch. The bed was especially cozy — perfect for unwinding after a day exploring the city.

One of the standout features for me was the kitchen. It was surprisingly well stocked, not just with the basics but with everything needed to prepare full meals — a rarity in short-term rentals. The terrace was another highlight — ideal for a quiet morning coffee or chatting with fellow travellers while taking in the city atmosphere.

The location couldn’t have been more convenient. Nestled in the heart of the action, it’s surrounded by great restaurants, vintage shops, and is within walking distance to several key points of interest. It made getting around incredibly easy and enjoyable.

Management was also a strong point — fast, helpful, and professional. Any small questions I had were answered almost immediately, which made the experience smooth from start to finish.

I would absolutely visit again in a heartbeat. Unique Stays lived up to its name — a unique, thoughtful, and easy place to call home in Montreal.

Stayed for 4 nights. Very clean room and bathroom. Convenient location, have plenty of restaurants and shops in a lively neighbourhood. Next to bus stops and 10-15mins walk to metro. Hosts were very responsive and helpful. Note that are stairs to get to the first level. Will definitely stay again.

We loved our time at Unique Stays. It was super easy to book, & a very convenient location. Self check-in was a breeze & we were able to find free parking. It was clean & cute, and has everything you need to be more than comfortable . The balcony is a lovely addition & it’s private . There’s also a bunch of cafés & delicious restaurants right at your door step .

Stayed at the apartment for 4 days while visiting Montreal. It has everything you need for a short stay. Fully equipped. Location is great, in a trendy area at walkable distance from historic center and mont royal.

After 19 years of staying at our home away from home, and having the lovliest host Isabel and her son scott, it took a stay at a B&B on a 200 yr old farm in Holland to maybe match it. Verbenas has always been clean, safe and the breakfasts are the bonus. Thanks always.

Best B&B I've ever stayed in. Very comfortable. Deena and Ivan terrific hosts, very accomodating. Beautiful property and tastefully furnished, in great interesting area.
Definitely will be our destination next time in Toronto.

We absolutely loved this place! Having travelled and stayed in guesthouses a lot in the past ten years, Deena and Ivan's home still really stands out. Yes, the rooms are perfectly clean, the beds are huge and comfy and everything you can dream of is provided for... but the hosts are what makes this one of our fav places. Make sure to listen to every single one of their recommendations especially if you are a foodie! Plus: The homemade granola, seed crackers and warm bread for breakfast? We need to come back!!!

As others have mentioned, the best thing about staying here is the incredible kindness and generosity of the hosts. Deena and Ivan go out of their way to make sure that you are comfortable and that you are taken care of as well as possible. If you need to leave early in the morning, they will take the trouble to have some breakfast stuff kept out for you. If you need to get some laundry done, they will kindly take care of it. They are full of suggestions for ways to spend your time in Toronto.

The house itself is very nice and in a lovely, quiet residential location, with excellent public transport connections and plenty within walking distance as well, including a couple of supermarkets and an excellent independent coffee shop (Contra Café). The room was very nice and well-furnished on the whole. Everything is very clean and tidy. Breakfast is simple but excellent.
The main thing to be aware of with this particular room is that the noise from the shared bathroom next door can get quite loud, and this can be a bit disruptive. The potential wait time for the bathroom in the mornings is also something to keep in mind, given that it is shared amongst multiple rooms.

For those who might be a bit introverted like myself, it is also worth noting that privacy is a bit limited, given that one has to pass through the common living area of the house every time when entering or exiting, and usually someone (the hosts or the other guests) are around. But I suppose this is a natural part of a homestay arrangement.

Loved this place!! Deena and Ivan were super nice and prepared fresh granola, oat milk and other yummy breakfast things every morning. The house is very beautiful and calm. We had the largest room upstairs, which was huge and very private. It was also pretty easy to get into the city center with public transport

My first solo travelling trip and I chose Ottawa, to include the Canadian tulip festival. I had the privilege of staying at the Charing House Gardens BNB. As a solo female traveller I appreciated the utmost privacy and security given. I felt safe to come and go as I wished throughout my stay.
The room was super clean and very spacious with enough room for work and meals.
To top the wonderful space and lush bed, I received a lovely breakfast every morning that I was able to enjoy at my own time and pace.
This is a top notch BNB with service so much better than any hotel can offer.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights to visit Ottawa and we really enjoyed the whole experience! The room and bathroom were fully equipped, clean and tidy. Tasty breakfast with fresh fruit that we could enjoy in the beautiful garden. We could also use the tandem bike to the city centre, a real adventure! Olivia and Ron were very hospitable and caring for us on our stay and we will keep a good memory in to this warm place! Perfect hosts 😊

This place is an absolute must stay in the Ottawa area! The friendly owner greets you at the door and takes you up a grand staircase to the clean welcoming rooms upstairs, comfortable beds and your own washroom. Candies and coffee of plenty! And the cutest breakfast ever await you in the morning in your mini fridge! (Just like mom use to make) loved every minute of our stay!

Huge thank you to the owners. After finding myself in need of accommodations very last minute I was welcomed into the Charing House later on in the evening. We (myself and my brother) were welcomed into the B&B with comfortable rooms and were offered ride to our destination which saved me money in addition to the great breakfast that we had on route as graciously prepared by Olivia.

I would absolutely recommend this location for your travels.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The home and the hosts are warm and inviting. My room was awesome with a very comfortable bed and huge fully stocked bathroom. The view of the mountains and the city is pretty amazing too. Violet and Tony are wonderful hosts!

Great place to stay on the outskirts of the lovely City of Ottawa. You can walk into the main City in 1.25hrs via some pleasant walks but driving is easy. The hosts are great and whilst you generally only see them at breakfast, great by the way, the whole atmosphere of the place is relaxed, slightly bohemian but not ott. Also has some great relaxation places within the building and gardens. WiFi etc is top and the host plays some cool relaxing music throughout, if you want it.

Wonderful for peaceful restoration. Music is quiet blues etc. Breakfast wonderful. Service wonderful and lovely maintained grounds and atmosphere. If you have any handcaps use ground floor rooms. Hosts are fantastic.

We had a wonderful time, the location is great with restaurants to walk to and strolls along the river right at hand. The host was fantastic and spent time explaining all there was to do near by, and history of Ottawa. Breakfast was perfect.

We just spent 3 days/ nights at the Kokomo Inn. The location is fantastic, it's like being in cottage country but you're right across from downtown Ottawa. Walk along the riverfront path in the evening and you're all set.

Parissa and John are excellent hosts and John knows the area exceptionally well. He's like a wikipedia of places to go and things to do in and around.

Breakfast was excellent, and the hosts are very welcoming. The layout of the home is great for guests.

Stayed here with a group of lads for a bachelor party. It is spectacular - we’re already looking for an excuse to return just for a raining day vacation.

First off, WOW! Le Bed et Cocktail hits it out of the park for layout, space, and overall design!

The space was incredibly clean, well stocked, and gave off such a fun vibe.

We had roughly 10 girls stay and not once did we feel crowded or uncomfortable. The beds are surprising large and offered a cozy hideaway at the end of the night.

It’s safe to say, we would ABSOLUTELY stay here again. Can’t wait for next time!

Le Bed and Cocktail was amazing l. The place was clean and very well laid out for group accommodations. The sleeping POD were a dream. Very comfortable and quiet. Couldn't have asked for a better place. We will be back next year for sure!

This was a lovely hostel to stay into. Clean bright, nice decor, with an easy layout. It's very well organized. Each sleeping pod is equipped with an outlet, a small light and a small fan so you can browse on your phone/laptop in bed while charging it. My friends and I all enjoyed our stay, would definitely recommend!

Such an amazing experience staying here! The place was clean, the beds/bedding was so comfortable and the service was exceptional. I will recommend this place to anyone staying in Montreal. The vibe was unreal.

My wife & I stayed here for two nights and had an excellent stay. We stayed in the Champetre room which has air conditioning, a private balcony, and a beautiful private bathroom. The neighbourhood is very walkable with restaurants nearby, and Olympic park is only 20 mins away. The metro and bus lines are close as well.
Gilles, our host, was very kind, friendly, and accommodating. When we mentioned we're vegetarian, he made great meat-free breakfasts for us! As well, he watched our luggage for us after check-out but before we left the city. Thank you again Gilles! You are a gem. :)

Owner is extremely friendly, rooms are really clean and cute, and prices are really good. The owner is very humble, he has been in this business for over 20 years and really knows how to make your stay excellent. Very amiable and friendly, and his breakfasts are delicious too. If I ever come back to Montreal I will be staying here again for sure.

We had a perfectly made breakfast every day (he's a fantastic cook!), the rooms were spotless and cozy, the street is quiet and there're three parking spots behind his home. Gilles is such a knowledgeable friendly host, he gave us great tips about getting around! Downtown is only 20 minutes away by transit. Tip: get a weekend metro pass for only $15 per person.

You could stay at a crappy impersonal hotel downtown for twice the price--or more--or you could stay here, it's an easy decision. My boyfriend doesn't care for eggs and said Gilles made the best omelette he's ever had.

Gilles is a fantastic host. The B&B has big rooms and it’s in a quiet area. There’s a subway station nearby and it’s a nice walk to the centre too. The breakfast was exceptional too.

Comfortable rooms, amazing breakfast and even more amazing host. Beautiful and peaceful neighbourhood close to shops and transportation.

Located right next to Notre dame and buzzing square , souvenir shops across the street. I like the modern finishing of the hotel, especially the multiple charging ports. The complimentary continental breakfast was nice. The free unlimited coffee at reception for hotel guests is a nice touch, especially the cafe-like seating area! We also got nice room slippers, bathrobe and good quality toiletries. Love the bed and mattress so comfy and lots of lights. Main door is only accessible by card in the evening which feels secure. We could store our luggage for an hour after checkout that was convenient too.

Window view was disappointing — just a small opening, with most of the wall being brick instead of glass. TV placement was awkward, mounted far away on the side wall instead of in front of the bed. Several Uber drivers had difficulty finding the hotel, possibly due to road closures, construction or the busy square. No kettle, microwave, or iron provided in the room.

Overall a modern, high quality and comfortable hotel in a perfect location!

We loved our stay at this charming boutique hotel in Montreal! We booked a medium room and it was perfect – cozy with beautiful brick walls that gave it so much character. The shower was definitely the highlight (amazing water pressure!) and we appreciated the luxurious Le Labo products. Breakfast was included and had a nice selection of boiled eggs, toast, smoked salmon, and fresh fruit (apple/banana) – simple but delicious. They also make you a complimentary coffee beverage upon request. The location couldn’t be better, right in the heart of Old Montreal and a walking distance to so many restaurants/coffee shops/bars and local attractions. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Montreal!

***Please note that there is construction happening right next door to the hotel and they start work early and it gets very very very loud. We didn't care about the noise that much because we normally wake up early anyway and were gone for the day.***

My friend and I had such a pleasant stay at Le Petit Hotel - Notre Dame. Service was exceptional especially by Mathieu and William at the front desk. The rooms were very modern and clean. Breakfast was lovely in the mornings. Bonus was unlimited coffees and croissants throughout the day. The hotel is situated in Old Montreal which made it easy to get around to all the hot spots in the city. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone!

Le Petit Hotel Notre Dame is a great hotel!! It’s located centrally in Old Montreal, with lots of restaurants and tourist spots close by. The rooms are also brand new and nicely appointed. However, the best part of this hotel is the staff. From the front desk folks (who are also trained baristas and will make a coffee whenever you ask), to the house keepers, the staff at Le Petit Notre Dame are fantastic. They truly make the hotel a worthwhile place to stay. While some have commented on the building construction adjacent to the hotel, our room was right next to it and honestly, it wasn’t terrible. The construction workers don’t work during evening hours and the rooms have great sound insulation. The construction will also be done in a year or so, so it shouldn’t be much of a problem going forward. Overall, I would recommend Le Petit Hotel Notre Dame as a great place to stay.

This was the cutest and quaintest, yet very modern hotel! My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights for our babymoon and enjoyed every minute! We stayed in the "small" room with a King bed, but it was plenty of room for both of us. The room was equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The staff was respectful and generous and the coffee/tea/hot chocolate 24/7 was a huge plus! The included breakfast was the perfect addition. The location was perfect, just 1/2 a block from Notre-Dame, 0.5 miles from Chinatown and Old Montreal, and about 1.0 mile to downtown/great shopping. Very walkable area and felt safe the whole time! We would highly recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again if we visit Montreal in the future!

The B&B is lovely. The host, Yener, is friendly, helpful, extremely accommodating and an overall great guy. Orlando the breakfast assistant was also wonderful to chat with. Food was delicious. The room was very clean and comfortable.

The place was amazing! It was very clean, felt like home and breakfast was amazing. Yener is very kind and helpful. He would promptly respond to any questions or suggestions and it was very easy to communicate with him. We went with a car and we managed to park on the street next to the hotel without any concerns. The area is very safe and accessible to areas around the city. We loved their mascot, Guimauve too! We were met with her wagging tail when we checked in. We would strongly recommend this stay to anyone visiting Montreal!

This a really great B&B! The room was great, and the breakfast is really good. It's also a very nice location because it is close to everything in the village neighborhood, including the subway, but on a quiet block. Highly recommend!

One of the best B&B stays ever! My partner and I really enjoyed our interaction with Yener who made us feel like we were home away from home! All the food served for breakfast was delicious and presentation was fabulous. We really enjoyed petting Guimauve an adorable English shepherd whose name means marshmallow. Highly recommended and close to many bars and restaurants. Room is comfortable with good AC and heating.

We had an awesome stay! This was our second time staying here and it was just as amazing as our first stay. The accommodations are extremely comfortable, the food was delicious and the people were amazing. The location is perfect and local to many bars and restaurants as well as the metro. Absolutely fantastic place to stay! Very clean and modern rooms, comfy bed, friendly and efficient staff and seriously delicious breakfast. I had a long day of travel and I was immediately put at ease once I got to my room here. The shower is also really nice and modern. My favorite part of staying here has been the superb breakfast and the great conversations with the owners, staff, and guests. I’ll definitely be back!

By far the nicest, coziest b&b I've ever stayed in, and my husband and I have done dozens. The common area is so comfortable and beautiful, we ended up hanging out there, playing pool and board games, and sipping their delicious coffee most evenings.

The location is perfect. Walking distance to literally everything.

The rooms are spacious, pleasant and clean. The pool was amazing on this scorching hot weekend, too, and we thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub!

We were travelling up the Rideau by boat and needed a place to rest after a steamy hot day. When we arrived at 1840, Christine and Orlando received us as if we were old friends.
The rooms were gorgeous- clean, spacious, well appointed as was the main reception area- complete with board games!
The oasis out back with sauna, hot tub and pool was an amazing reprieve from the oppressive heat.

The location couldn’t have been better- just a stone’s throw from restaurants, cafe’s and the locks.

Amazing place right in the centre of Merrickville. Place is clean and with the spa amenities that you’d want to have for a relaxing weekend getaway. They also have snacks and coffee throughout the day and light stuff that you can get in the morning (yogurt, bar, fruit). The lovely couple who are the new owners of this inn was very lovely. Hope to come back in the winter!

This spot is a gem. Located in the heart of town. We stayed here on a bike trip, loved the pool and hot tub, cleanliness of guest house and the light breakfast. Christina and Orlando are super hosts, friendly, helpful and go out of their way to accommodate their guests needs.

I absolutely loved my stay at the Auberge Des Arts. Pierre, the host, is one of the kindest people I had a pleasure of meeting. Not only the breakfast he served was delicious, he was also a great help in crafting my itinerary. He showed me where to go, good places to grab food, and even let me know of events/festivals taking place (like a fireworks display). The location is also fantastic, located around 15-20 min from every major attraction. 10/10 if I am ever in Ottawa, I will stay again

I have to say this is one of the best places I’ve ever stayed, I'm not exaggerating! Pierre is the best host ever! He was incredibly kind. When my family and I arrived, he took the time to explain in detail all the main spots to visit seriously, so detailed! He even gave us a map and recommended activities. We ended up going to a horse show that day, and it was awesome!
The rooms, dining area, and bathroom were spotless, and the bed was super comfortable. Plus, there was free fruit available, which was a nice touch!
Breakfast was delicious! Pierre offered different options to choose from, and everything we tried was amazing. It really made us feel at home.
The location is perfect, everything is within a 10–15 minute walk, the museum, the market, Parliament, and the park!
At the end of our stay, Pierre even dropped us off at our bus stop. He’s such a wonderful and charming host. I’m so happy we stayed here as a family, and I’m definitely coming back next time we visit Ottawa. Pierre, honestly 11/10!

I had an amazing stay at Auberge des Arts! My host truly went above and beyond—he was incredibly kind, easy to chat with, and genuinely made me feel welcome. The breakfast was delicious, the accommodations were comfortable, and he even gave me great tips on what to check out in the city. What really helped/was amazing was that he offered a just in case wake-up call—and when my alarm didn’t go off, his mom kindly woke me up just in time to catch my flight. I’m so grateful for the care and thoughtfulness. I know exactly where I’ll be staying the next time I’m in Ottawa!

Brother Li Homestay is a fantastic choice for travelers! The place is super convenient, comfy, and very affordable, with a warm and friendly vibe from the host. We booked through CIBC Travel and had an overall great experience. Arriving late at night, we struggled a bit with the door, but a quick call to the provided number got us immediate assistance—top-notch service! The only catch was that the basement room felt a bit chilly at night. Despite that, we loved our stay and will definitely be back! Highly recommend!

If you drive a sedan/car that's fairly low, do NOT go up the driveway. Your car will go ka-thunk.

Otherwise, this place is clean, well maintained.

Amazing value, but be careful of the caveats. This is a nice home where each room is rented out but the downstairs living room and kitchen are shared. My family rented the master bedroom (king bed and private bathroom), and it was great!

I would be careful booking here as some rooms share a bathroom with other rooms, I personally wouldn't like that.

Overall, it was a great stay.

Clean, comfortable stay. Access to a full kitchen and free coffee in the morning. I'll be back.

My wife and I are so glad we stayed at the Gingerbread Manor for 3 nights in Montreal. The home is historic and charming and was a nice change from the typical hotel. It’s in a great walkable neighborhood near parks and many restaurants. Most tourist attractions such as Old Montreal, Mount Royal, and Montreal Botanical Garden are within walking distance or easily reached by taxis or public transportation. The hosts at the Gingerbread Manor are very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we felt at home. Breakfast varied each morning and was always excellent. The hosts offered advice on nearby restaurants and enthusiastically looked up some possibilities during breakfast. We ended up going to a very nice French bistro within walking distance for dinner. We would not hesitate to stay at Gingerbread Manor again on our next visit to Montreal!

I had a wonderful two night stay at the gingerbread manor. The location was perfect to be able to access all aspects of the old city of Montreal. Although I did not use the metro, they are very close to it. The room and bathroom were spotless and exactly as described. Check in was simple and communication was extremely clear. Yves and Ephraim were wonderful hosts The breakfast was delicious and there were many options beyond the entree. They were happy to provide information as needed. Everything in the house is clearly marked in multiple languages and AC keeps it comfy. There are many nice touches to make it feel like home. I can’t imagine staying in a big corporate hotel when you can stay in a historic home with lovely hosts.

Absolutely loved my stay at this BnB! The house itself is beautiful and it is in a lovely neighborhood , right beside a nice park. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby, and very close to entertainment like the orchestra which is what I was there for. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful as this was my first time in Montreal. Breakfast was delicious and I looked forward to it every morning, it was also fun to meet and chat with the other guests during breakfast. My room was very comfortable and had everything I needed. Definitely will be booking here again if I get a chance to return to Montreal!

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Gingerbread Manor! The hosts were very kind and accommodating. They are pleasant to talk to. The room and bathroom were very clean and the bed was comfortable. The location is a good walk to Downtown Montreal and Chinatown. We would definitely return and highly recommend that you stay here.

After staying at the Gingerbread Manor, I feel the quality of my stay didn't match the mostly 5-star reviews I saw on Google.

The Frontenac room was large, clean and comfortable. I was hesitant about sharing a bathroom with other guests but generally, it rarely posed an issue. However, the ceiling creaked quite heavily and regularly, with the upstairs guests' every footstep. It was pretty loud and disruptive. I had to sleep with earplugs every night.

The breakfasts were fairly disappointing. The prepared food was stingily portioned and pretty greasy. For example, they served what they called a Spanish "torta"(I think they meant Spanish tortilla) The egg was severely overcooked while the potato was almost raw. There were other food options like yogurt and cereal to supplement the disappointing hot breakfast but the reason I stay at bed and breakfasts is to enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal. This place just missed the mark for me.

My final disappointment was with the B&B owners. Initially, I found their demeanor pleasantly quirky but it soon became overbearing and invasive. Some of the comments and jokes made by the owners at breakfast could be condescending or inappropriate. For example, they talked negatively about other guests staying at the B&B. And some of their jokes I felt were of poor taste and made myself and other guests feel uncomfortable. Overall, I felt there was a general lack of maturity and professionalism. The staff could benefit from some basic hospitality training.

The hotel staff are so incredibly nice and accommodating. My husband booked a room not realizing that there is no elevator and no mini fridge in the room (we have a baby so need a fridge to store milk). They moved us to their sister hotel down the street (hotel Uville) without charging us extra. They even took our luggage over to the new hotel room. Cannot recommend them enough. Everyone was so so so kind.

The only thing that I would change is it was hard to find the hotel. We didn’t see any signs or names for the hotel. We arrived into a parking lot as per our GPS. There is a small back door you can go through from the parking lot to go inside the hotel but there is no way anyone would know that. The staff will come meet you in the parking lot when you arrive, just give them a call.

Great boutique hotel in old Montreal. I have stayed here twice in the last 6 months and both times were wonderful. We've stayed in a King and Queen suite and both were great. The morning breakfast being delivered makes the hotel feel like a B&B.

Beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Old Montreal. Rooms are quaint with an old world feel. Stone walls, exposed wood ceiling beams and wood floors gives the feel of staying at someone's home.
Rooms have large walknin showers, ample lighting; hair dryer and small hotel size shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion are provided. Rooms have king size bed and twin size lounge couch, electric fireplace, ample storage, closet and coffee maker- no refrigerator.
Daily box breakfast is included and can be brought to your room or enjoy in the private hotel café. Breakfast includes a croissant- GF available, cheese, nuts and berries, juice, coffee/ latte. Perfect start to the day.
Service is exceptional with a knowledgeable staff that can help you with recommendations for places to visit.
The front entrance of hotel is currently only accessible by foot as they are redoing the streets. Daily attended parking available w a fee. We stayed for 3 days and did not use our car at all. Took in everything by foot or short walk to the metro

Hotel Epik was the perfect place to stay for our first trip to Montreal. Nestled in the heart of Old Montreal, this was the perfect boutique hotel! The rooms were lovely, the best hotel shower I’ve ever had, and breakfast included either to your room or in the dining room. Ana and Emma were extremely helpful and gave wonderful recommendations! I would highly recommend!

A lovely little hotel in the heart of Old Montreal. Our room was comfortable and full of character. The staff were helpful and welcoming.

Had a wonderful stay with Richard and Sandy (the dog) hosting us. This beautiful Victorian property is perfectly appointed with attention to detail. The burgundy room, where we stayed, was spacious and comfortable. In warmer months, I'm sure the deck off of it would be wonderful. The breakfast had everything you might want. The warm buttery croissants were my favourite, but the fruit salad and fruit muffins were a close second. Richard was great to converse with and has a great knowledge of the area. The dog Sandy, is a gentle, loving friend - non-shedding being a bonus. Would definitely book another stay here.

We stayed for 2 nights in February of 2025. The home is beautiful and historic and in a great location. Richard is extremely knowledgeable about Ottawa and the surrounding area. He provided many tips for what to see and do during our visit, which absolutely improved our experience.
Breakfast was both delicious and generous with freshly baked pastries, yogurt, fruit, granola and much more
The location was fantastic for walking to many museums, parliament hill and to the Roseau canal. We also easily drove to Gatineau park.
I highly recommend the Auberge king Edward and hope to return in the summer to see the area in a different season.

There's just so many amazing things about this property. It's a heritage house, with tons of cachet (my bathroom was the maid's bathroom, huge double living room), very well decorated and taken care of. Where the exceptional part comes in is the absolutely stunning garden, the private balcony, the crisp hotel linens, spotlessly clean, the floofiest puppy ever, the great breakfast, the friendly welcome, all the travel books, perfect room temperatures... There's also TV with cable in the room but I got distracted by the travel books. I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back if ever I have business in Ottawa!
