I had a wonderful retreat at Kirkman House Bed and Breakfast in February 2024. Ellen is a great hostess. She very kindly hung the sheets outside in advance of my arrival because of a scent allergy. The room was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated with a lovely view. The breakfasts were fantastic. Proximity to the old growth forest at Gilles Grove was a plus for me.

Kirkman House is a lovely home situated on a treed, quiet street with rare old "bones" that take you back in time. Ellen's hospitality and breakfasts were superb and we felt at home immediately. Our room was spacious, spotless and wonderfully appointed with high ceilings and a nice view. I recommend Kirkman House to anyone seeking a first class B&B experience in a setting you won't soon forget.

Grand mansion with high ceilings, dramatic stairways, ornate furnishings from bygone era. Old world charm and modern comforts are perfectly combined to create a truly comfortable, relaxing experience. Ellen is a great host who ensures you have what you need. To top it all off, she makes a truly wonderful, delicious breakfast, one of the best ones I've had at a BnB!

I just had 1 night here. The hostess is immensely nice and makes great breakfast! She is renovating right now to make her beautiful Victorian house even more amazing!

A Perfect Stay!
We had an incredible experience at this bed and breakfast. The place was spotless, cozy, and clearly well cared for. What really made our stay memorable was the host he was warm, welcoming, and truly passionate about what he does.

He personally prepared us breakfast each morning, and it honestly felt like dining at a high-end restaurant. Everything was made from scratch, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. You can tell he puts his heart into every detail.

This was more than just a place to stay, it was an experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for comfort, quality, and a personal touch!

I really liked this place. However if you are sensitive to sleeping with any light then don’t stay here. (Light comes through transom and curtains.) This place was exceptionally clean. Breakfast was from 8-8:30 (but if discussed ahead the host is accommodating). There wasn’t any choice however the (vegetarian) meals were excellent. The rooms were very pleasant. There was a closet and a small full bathroom as part of the room. (There wasn’t air conditioning and it was a hot week but I was able to keep the windows open at night.) While buses do go on this street, the inn was quiet. Downtown Ottawa was an easy walk.

This B & B is a true gem. Vittorio is a fantastic host, ensuring that guests have all their needs met. Our guest room, #1, was spacious and beautifully decorated, as is the rest of this charming house. The breakfasts were scrumptious, including dishes such as waffles with whipped cream and maple syrup, smoothies with toppings of fresh fruit and frittatas. Coffee, tea and refrigerated bottled water were available throughout the day. If Ottawa is on your travel itinerary, you would throughly enjoy a stay at the Century House.

I booked this room first because acceptable hotels were completely sold out because of an exhibition taking place in ottawa. The room was so comfortable and in a nice location that next time I‘ll come back as first choice to this place. Vittorio was a superb host and made an awesome fresh breakfast. Thank you.

Great place to stay in the Almonte - Mississippi Mills area. Beautiful, interesting rooms in a unique heritage old house. Organized and set up to be welcoming and comfortable for guests.
Terrific 'continental breakfast, best I have had. Fresh baked pastries, fresh fruit, oatmeal, boiled eggs and top notch condiments. Terrific coffee too.
If you are visiting this area, enjoy your stay here. Just try and arrive in the area early, town closes up early, 4:00pm!

Staff is super nice and readily accommodated us keeping temp controlled medical supplies in their commercial fridge. Loved that they had kayaks and paddle boards for us to use. The hot tub and sauna were really nice too. Great experience!

We had an excellent stay here over Canada Day. What a fantastic and beauty place to unwind and recharge. Staff were knowledgeable and kind , our room was spotless and comfy , and the activities ( Kayak, hot tub and cold plunge) were wonderful. View from our room was gorgeous and the location ideal. Thank you Rob ( and Peggy and Bo!) for a well- needed escape .

We had a lovely stay at the Inn, the service was warm, friendly and efficient. The breakfast was delicious with home made scones and muffins.
We had dinner here both nights, delicious and good value, alongside a beautiful view of the River from the patio.
We will be back. Almonte is a charming town.

The studio was great! It was super clean and it looked exactly like the pictures! It also had everything needed in the bathroom & kitchen, and all appliances and A/C worked perfectly. This suite is in a great location, very close to the subway station and right on Saint Denis street where there are tons of restaurants, bars and stores to explore! It is also close to Old Montreal and the port! Overall, it was a great place, 10/10! Definitely recommend and would stay here again!

I enjoyed my stay in the mini studio. The kitchen and bathroom are truly mini, but very well-equipped. The bedroom space is wide enough though. I also got a lot of help from the hosts; they were super responsive and accommodating. The location is also great; everything | needed i.e.
supermarkets, metro/buses, park, restaurants, was within a walking distance. Overall, my stay was definitely worth it.

Very clean and quiet place and good service with the owner

The owner is very friendly, she will accommodate you anytime of the day. The room is very nice and clean. Ambiance is fascinating. Very satisfied and also nearby stores are convenient.
Recommended for short and long term stay.

Please be advised that this establishment, also known as Ghalib Homestay on other platforms, is not recommended. The address is the same. It was the worst lodging experience of my life. I reserved a room for 15 days, but upon inspecting it, I immediately requested a refund from the owner within the first hour, which was denied. Despite staying only one night, I was not even given a 50% refund. Furthermore, the space is extremely cramped, with inadequate cleaning, no kitchen for cooking, and insufficient heating. Additionally, there is a shared living arrangement in the backyard if you have not reserved both rooms.

I paid CAD 1500 for a three-night stay and promptly vacated the premises upon finding a more suitable accommodation. The conditions were so unacceptable that I forfeited approximately CAD 1200 that the owner should have reimbursed.

Service seriously good.

A stunning hotel that is the perfect place to stay in the heart of old Montreal. Great location, amazing service, spotless, and simply perfect. Don’t fear there is parking in the vicinity use clicknpark and save money. Although we didn’t need it there is a luggage elevator, but we were on the 1st floor. They will keep your luggage after check out, just ask. There is all the amenities to help you feel at home, from teas, coffee, dishes, bar fridge, washer dryer robes and slippers etc.

The location and rooms in this hotel are great, but they have a weird process where you pay separately for ID verification and incidentals processing.
This is incredibly bizarre: instead of just charging extra and handling the third party payment themselves, you have to decide whether to pay insurance or the authorization transaction on your credit card. Either way, it’s about an extra $15/30 no matter what.
This is supposedly disclosed in some small print when booking, but it’s still unclear why they don’t pay the third party software bill themselves and save people the hassle.

A nice place, and the staff checks in with you via email to make sure you are doing well. The room is located right on the bike path and walking path. So it makes it easier to walk everywhere. Upon first inspection, the room was very clean. Then the ants arrived. They were everywhere. I let them know that this needs to be addressed. Unfortunately, there was a lot of construction going on during our stay. The sound of large vehicles backing up was annoying.

Had a great 3 night stay here and feel compelled to leave a review. I'm not used to more AirBNB-style stays so wasn't sure what to expect, and the booking process wasn't the most seamless, but any issues I had were met with clarifying and rapid communication from the staff. Interactions with on-site staff were minimal but very friendly & helpful when they occurred (shoutouts to the woman at the entrance for her kindness & to Benjamin for his help and friendliness).

We stayed on the 4th floor, so the photos attached represent one of those rooms (401 / front facing view photo attached). Some other reviews point out issues with the rear alley-facing rooms, so can't comment on whether or not that would be an issue. This may be a point of apprehension for some, as I imagine the room atmosphere might be a bit different with our view / light exposure compared to rooms on different sides of the building.

As stated by the hotel, there is no elevator, but the flights of stairs were no issue (of course if you have mobility issues, likely better to choose a lower floor). The luggage elevator is useful, so no worries about the higher floor if you're travelling with a lot of stuff (we were not; simply walked the bags up). Despite being on the highest floor in feels-like-41-degree weather, the room temperature was cool and heat was a non-issue.

The room itself was great. Comfortable bed, convenient sized fridge, even a hidden away hot plate and pans if you're inclined to do some cooking. A minor nitpick would be that the bathroom could use an additional small shelf or something for toiletries, but otherwise no complaints!

Location is subjective but it's a great area. If you have any interest in staying near the water or staying in and around Old Montreal then it's an excellent spot.

Nothing more to add. Hope to stay here again one day!

We loved our stay! After booking, I did have to pay $11 US for identity verification and damage insurance, just fyi. We paid for parking at the mall nearby and took a short walk to the hotel. Check-in was easy and personal, and she had recommendations if you wanted. The location was the best part, so close to Old Montreal and the Cathedral. The room was clean, spacious, and modern. We didn't use it much, but the kitchen was a nice feauture and had everything you would need. We felt very safe and secure, and it was quiet at night. We would return!

2nd stay at Boxotel. Unfortunately, it was not as good as last time. Room was clean, hotel was "fine" but it has lost its sparkle. The chalkboard signage has the old writing still fading through, showing what once was - kind of tells the whole story. Also - the main reason we booked again, the roof top jaccuzi / spa (which is what truly justifies the price of this place) was not working / "out of service indefinitely". This was not communicated to us at any point until we got our bathing suits on and went to the roof and saw the hand written sign. Apparently its been out a few weeks now, so would have been nice to have been informed prior to arrival - as i would have booked another hotel. At almost 300 a night, absolutely not worth it. Otherwise, the place is fine. Staff are doing their best, and are friendly- I know its not their fault.
Good location, smaller boutique hotel. Room has all you will need for a comfortable stay. Our room was not serviced at all during the stay - you will need to specifically ask for it if you want "hotel" experience.

This hotel is located in what seems to be a neighborhood, it's quiet and quaint but located just a couple of blocks from much busier areas and LOTS of restaurants. The rooms are spacious, unique and extremely clean; my room had a full kitchen with a washer / dryer and dishwasher. I would have to say that one of my favorite parts of the stay was the customer service I received from Nabil. You can clearly see that he enjoys his job and, helping guests to make their stays as comfortable as possible. Many thanks to everyone at Boxotel Montreal!

Wow!!! I LOVE this hotel! Super clean (and I am picky), very quiet, extremely well thougt out room, very well equipped including dishwasher, washer/dryer, yoga mat/yoga block, wonderful hamam and sauna, nice rooftop terrace, outstanding client service from Terri and Nabir (which sets it apart from other self serve aparthotels).I cant say enough nice things about this place! I have already booked for my next visit. Nice area just outside of Downtown and short walk to Metro. Highly recomended!

We don’t usually write reviews, but we had to for this one!

The kitchenette was fully stocked with cooking appliances. Included a dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave, fridge + freezer; really the best hotel kitchen we’ve experienced.

The room itself was well furnished and comfortable. Good mattress, storage space and bathroom. Everything was also quite clean.

The only negative is that the gym was very limited, and the actual gym space itself did have some insects. (However we did not see insects anywhere else in the hotel)

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. This will be our go-to hotel when we come back to Montreal!

Super cool and high tech hotel. It's amazing to see what exists to make homes and stays smarter for their user. The programmed lights and the automated curtains are the best thing in the room. You have to be very comfortable with the people on your room, the frosted glass is not as opaque as I thought. The room and the hotel are very minimalistic, but they have everything you need to have an amazing stay. I didn't think it would be worth the price, especially during the weekends but it is quite a unique experience, I wouldn't hesitate to come back during weekdays.

We stayed at By The Park on June 11, and it more than satisfied our needs for a spot close to hospital. Margo and Ziggy are gracious hosts, breakfast was excellent. I was also impressed with their home, which they transformed into the beautiful historic building it is now. We heartily recommend By The Park.

By the Park Bed and Breakfast was a great place to stay during our visit to Toronto. Margo and Ziggy were exceptional hosts. Everything about our stay was perfect - accommodation, location, and hosts. Beautiful old High Park home with a location that was ideal for exploring Toronto. We highly recommend By the Park.

We had a wonderful 5 days here! The place was spotless, cozy, and full of character. Margo and Ziggy were incredibly welcoming and caring. We felt like at home. Breakfast each morning was fresh, delicious, and made with care. The location was perfect too—peaceful yet close enough to downtown. Our windows were facing High Park and we were within 3 min walk from Keele TTC Station on Bloor St W.
I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and personal experience.

I highly enjoyed my short stay here. The hosts are very kind, accommodating, and welcoming. The B&B is immaculate and rooms are very comfortable. It's in a nice, quiet location, just a short drive from downtown Toronto. Communications with Margo prior to my stay were prompt. I will definitely be back!

My friend and I stayed at By the Park Bed & Breakfast when Taylor Swift was in town and our experience could not have been better! Our hosts were knowledgeable and very helpful with all of our questions about navigating in and out of the downtown core on a very busy weekend. The room was perfect for our needs and we enjoyed breakfast every morning. All other rooms were also booked by Taylor Swift fans which created a fun and unique environment. Margo and Ziggy were so very kind and welcoming. The location was also excellent, as we were in close walking distance to both the nearest subway and UP express stations. We will definitely recommend By the Park B&B to any family or friends travelling to Toronto in the future!

I stayed here for one night on a quick in the city business stay.

I was incredibly pleasantly surprised.

The building/ house is incredibly beautiful. I love historic homes and details so for me this was the cherry on top.

But the room was affordable, which is why I chose it in the first place (along with a great location). Can walk to a lot of major places.

The bed was incredibly comfortable. It was quiet. The robes were so fluffy (there were robes!). The ac was quiet and kept things at a perfect temperature.

They have a wine bar in which I had a glass of wine in the charming lounge before heading out for dinner.

They had free breakfast. Which had a ton of pastries, granola, yogurt, eggs, breads, home made jams and syrups. This was not your avg free continental breakfast.

Coffee ans tea was free all the time. Same with fresh cold water.

Hands down impressed.

The only thing is that it's an older building. And there are stairs. But in montreal in general this is normal.

Lastly! The staff. So friendly. The woman at breakfast greeting and asking each guest if thry wanted their room cleaned. Reminding them of the transit strike. Just wow. Thank you!

I had a fantastic time here. The entire hotel is gorgeous and impeccably styled, especially the lobby/breakfast area. My room was spacious, clean and had strong AC (important for those Montreal summers). The bathrooms were fully stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap and lotion - which all smelled great. The free breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Having a late night glass of wine in the lobby is an experience not to be missed. The staff are absolutely lovely and super helpful. I definitely want to stay here again the next time I'm in Montreal.

I stayed for one night at this hotel - the team at the front desk were excellent! At the time of check-in, a kind receptionist gave me a nice tour of the hotel, which was much appreciated.

The breakfast was pretty decent.

The room, while having an old vibe, was nevertheless clean and comfortable to stay in. The bed mattress was a bit hard, but apart from that, no complaints.

This is the type of hotel one wants to visit once in a while, if possible a few times every year.
As we live in Europe this will definitely not possible, but it discribes well how we feel about it. Everything to our taste!

I stayed here during a visit to Montreal for a birthday celebration. Before arriving I requested that Louise and Frédéric put together a little birthday surprise for the friend I was with. I expected something small like a dessert or a happy birthday sign but Louise and Frédéric went above and beyond and created a special moment in the morning where they played music, put up decorations, and put together a birthday breakfast for my friend. This exceeded my expectations and made the stay in Montreal something I will never forget. For the house itself it was clean, charming, and in a perfect location (close to the Longueuil downtown area and a 15 minute walk to a ferry that takes you directly to Old Montreal). If you end up coming to Montreal I would highly recommend making it a priority to stay at Le Refuge du Poète as it is an experience that you can’t get anyway else.

Host so kind, accommodating, accepting, and gracious. For non-natives, the hosts speaks English, (I believe also Spanish was mentioned), in addition to French!
Easy check-in and pay, a communal bathroom, water, fridge, tv, closet/hangers, coffees and teas, towels, radio all included plus a key to the room and easy lock/unlock gadget on front door.
I've been here for 5 nights and each morning a new and delicious breakfast 😋
Great recommendations for the area. Way close to Montréal AND public transport! Get the big city right there but also smaller city vibe with the quieter streets to stay at the night : )

Le Refuge du Poète was a wonderful place for my wife and I to stay. We were considering several places, but all others seemed extremely expensive or inconvenient. We were very glad to pick this place. The room was very cozy and comfortable, and it was easy to rest.

Louise was a wonderful host and the breakfast every morning was delicious and intimate. She shared places of interest, tips on how to get around and practical advice to make our trips around Montreal and the area easier.

The neighbourhood is quiet, and getting around with public transit is extremely convenient. There's a gas station and drug mart nearby too, for other amenities.

Overall, a very charming place we'd love to stay at again. Merci beaucoup!

We had amazing stay for two nights. Great location, delicious breakfast and very cozy atmospehere!

Very quaint and lovely. It is a hidden gem outside of Montreal. We felt like home thanks to the host.

This location was perfect to walk around the city and was close to places to park. We were able to very briefly park on the side of the road in front of the hotel to drop off our luggage. The room was very spacious with a kitchen and was very clean. The hallways when you first enter make the place seem a little run down but the room was very modern and had everything we needed. Definitely would stay here again.

This hotel was perfect for exploring old town Montreal. The room was quite large for old town (#203) and had all the mod coms one would expect, except an elevator of course given the age of the building. I especially loved the window which opened on to the main street. Parking was a challenge but the contactless concierge was very helpful via text when I needed advice.

I wish there was a way to give a 3.5 star. I had stayed at their sister company and had loved it. I was not happy with this stay. No elevator, although nice room the mattress was bad and kept me up all night. The location was great but it was loud. It’s part of the old town charm but I will go back to Maison Therese next time.

I arrived about 2 hours ago, and I’m still in shock. This room is dark, depressing, and faces an ugly alley filled with dumpsters, construction fencing ( attached a photo) I booked this hotel based on the great reviews, as my husband just arrived in Canada and we wanted to spend a few nights in Montreal. I paid $240 per night for 3 nights, and this feels like a nightmare.

The bathroom is another story: the water is dangerously hot, with no proper adjustment, which feels unsafe. I also now realize (my fault for not reading carefully) that there’s no room service unless you stay for 6 nights—something I have never experienced at a hotel charging this much.

At this price point, I expected a pleasant boutique experience, not something that feels like a neglected hostel. I regret booking this place and am already looking for alternative accommodation.

Incredible find! Can’t possibly get any closer to the heart of old Montreal - location was perfect. The room was lovely, quaint, and also surprisingly quiet and private feeling despite its proximity to bars/nightlife.

Room was great quality! The shower was hot and had great water pressure, bathrooms were a nice perk. The bed was super comfy as well. The little amenities were much appreciated - popcorn, water, espresso pods.

Check in was contactless and super easy!Parking garage recommendations were all super helpful, and despite being in a car-unfriendly area, it was very easy to park and carry our bags 5 minutes. Will absolutely stay here again any time in Montreal!

I only stayed 1 night, but this place is fabulous 👌 the house is absolutely beautiful. There's an amazing finished basement with a pool table and air hockey. Highly recommend. Also, they have the sweetest dog. The breakfast was way above expectations

My sister and I booked a stay here to see Sum 41 at the Canadian Tire Centre. The inn was easy to find and we were taken aback as soon as we drove in by what a beautiful place this is! Susie and her husband (and two adorable dogs) greeted us and Susie our host was incredibly welcoming and kind throughout our stay. We said it feels like we’re staying at Aunt Susie‘s house!
Location: only a 6-minute drive to the Canadian Tire Centre and 10 minutes to restaurants.
Room: pictured below, our room was so cozy and cleaner than any hotel I’ve stayed in! I had an amazing sleep.
Food: Susie asked what we would like for breakfast and we told her just simple bagels and fruit. She served us fresh local bagels and fruit salad and she also offers complimentary snacks (which I got into after the concert). We had great laughs over breakfast! Susie is very funny.
Bonuses: parking is free, Susie gave us a tip to get free parking for our concert, there’s a spacious cozy basement room with board games, and a British shorthair cat (a huge selling point in my opinion)
We will stay here anytime we come for a concert! I can’t believe what a great price it is for the value. Thank you Susie and Mark!

I reserved for my special birthday event. High Tea for 15 lady friends. I was assured it would be no problem that the owner was a. pro at events. The soup was delicious, sandwiches stale and dry, desserts dry and tasteless, white wine was at room temperature and not chilled. I was charged $66 per person! I could have gone to The Old Mill Manor for $45 with food fresh and wine chilled. I would not recommend any special events at this venue. Susie you disappointed myself and my guests.

They truly make the b&b feel like home.
It's in a convenient location with lots of grocery stores, takeout places and activities relatively close by.
They were extremely accommodating and understanding with the situation my partner and I were in.

10/10 recommend to anybody on vacation, relocating, or otherwise wanting something more personal than a hotel, away from the noise and city fuss.

I don't like hostels only because I hate the idea of sharing a bunk. This is a similar idea but this fixes all the issues I had before. It was clean, comfortable and I never felt unsafe. It's a 15 minute walk from union and there's the subway everywhere. My friend forgot his merch shirt and they offered to send it to him, absolute gems. I was impressed with the breakfast, there was bread, toaster, cereal, dishes, cereal and milk. There's a fridge you could use if you labeled your stuff. My one and only critique (and it's small) is that the dude in the front that checked me in, didn't show me everything so I had no idea they had towels, or a laundry place, and I didn't see the men's showers and eventually found them the next day, I didn't know where to put my dishes or know where the stuff was, thankfully someone showed me, but that's my one and only issue with this place. I'll be staying here again. Very good area, kind people. Really good option for solo travellers particularly. I will say this place isn't accessable friendly. You cannot get into the building without stairs and most of everything is inaccessible.

Wow!! I had such an incredible experience staying at this hostel! Incredible kind devoted staff, you can tell they care about the business! I met amazing people in the common area which was super clean and welcoming. The pods are also so cozy! Thank you so much for the service Pod-Inn! If I'm ever back in Toronto I'll know where to stay!

Good (and safe) location and in general a clean space. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the breakfast provided is alright (Toast, Cereal, Coffee). Only thing is, the beds can be quite loud (metal bed frame) and the luggage is not really well secured- you store it in a room that everyone in the hostel can easily access. You have a little cabin in your pod but that only fits in most important stuff. Didn’t get anything stolen but it’s still a somewhat uncomfortable feeling.

This place was incredibly comfortable and relaxing to stay in. It was clean, well lit and quiet.
They have all the important essentials that made me feel at home, I really appreciated the laundry machine and study room, there was even free coffee in the mornings. The owner was also super nice and accommodating.
The location was so central and close to a lot of restaurants and attractions, so I was able to walk and not have to transit.
If I come back to Toronto, this place is top of my list!

I only needed a place to stay one night and this was the perfect option. Very quiet, clean and safe. The host did a great job touring the place and showing where all the amenities are. Would recommend to someone travelling solo.

We spent 7 days in the "Decked out Digs" apartment. Location was great, just a couple short blocks from the heart of College Street and Little Italy... nestled in amongst a spectacular neighborhood of old brick residences and mansions. Most tourist attractions were within walking distance, and local transit (street car and subway) were close by (we walked everywhere). The apartment itself was very spacious and comfortable. It takes up part of an old brick mansion and has its own private entrance, as well as a private outdoor patio and beautiful garden! The main floor houses the living room and kitchen, and the 2 bedrooms are downstairs in the basement. There is AC on both floors, but even though it was very hot outside, we found the basement bedrooms remained cool enough not to require the AC. The host was fantastic, and came by on the first day to introduce himself. He even mailed us back some keys my wife had left behind! The place exceeded my expectations, and for the same price (or cheaper) than a hotel room, you really can't go wrong.

This rental is in a great part of Toronto and has multiple units in it, all short term rentals. We came to Toronto for a family wedding and stayed three nights in the two bedroom, 'Loft Living' unit. Communication with the owner/manager was great leading up to our stay. We were able to use two parking spots which was a bonus and we greatly appreciated this. Location was perfect. Space of rooms etc. was great. Beds and pillows were comfortable. There were adequate towels provided. It was relatively clean but could use a deep clean.

There were multiple issues that, in isolation, were not a big deal, but cumulatively were very frustrating. Kitchen appliances and supplies need updating, ie. kettle didn't work, not enough dishes were supplied, blow dryer didn't work, fancy coffee machine had no instructions and none of us could figure out how to use it, despite googling instructions etc, dishwasher rack broken. The futon in the living room is completely wrecked. We couldn't even sit on it without it feeling like it was going to collapse. Therefore, there was inadequate seating in the living area. There were more than these issues but I don't need to go into detail about them all in this review. Overall, someone needs to go into the unit to check all of these things that don't work and replace them. I'm sure all the units in this place are similar. Again, we survived and these issues were minor, however, there were so many of them!

I contacted the owner the day after we checked out to inform him of all of these issues and requested a refund of the cleaning fee of $175 for the inconvenience. After a week, he did not respond, despite having had good communication prior to arrival.

I use short term rentals all the time and this is only the second time in 15+ years that I have been unsatisfied to the point of contacting the owner and requesting a partial refund. I booked directly through the website, as opposed to Airbnb, so the owner has no obligation to honour my request. This is just additional frustration and I guess in the future I will use Airbnb and pay their additional fee so that I have an avenue to make a complaint that will be addressed. One would think that if you're in the business of short term rentals, you would want to ensure the units provide adequate supplies and amenities instead of blindly collecting rent money and doing nothing when feedback/complaints are made. Therefore, based on these issues and the owner's lack of acknowledgement, I am leaving a negative review.

The property manager is a disgrace, I’ve never encountered such a rude and horrible man in all my life.

We had a great stay. Big comfy bedrooms. And a huge living space for the kitchen, dinning and living room. I highly recommend.

We have been fortunate enough to stay in a few of the Posh Digs rentals and I can honestly say it's one of the best vacation rental places we have ever stayed in!! Always super clean, beautifully decorated, and comfortable with all the comforts of home. Super convenient for travelling with family as there are multiple rooms. You could not pick a better location in central Toronto. Absolutely love the Posh Digs, units!!

This Airbnb host made the stay truly special – the home was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully prepared. The host was warm, welcoming, and quick to respond, making us feel cared for throughout. With such comfort and a great location, it felt less like a rental and more like a home away from home.

The apartment was spotless, very comfortable, and perfectly located. The host was friendly and responsive, making the stay even better. I truly enjoyed my time in Toronto and would definitely come back. Five stars – highly recommended!

There are 2 houses, don’t be fooled by the pics. Seriously disappointing. Rooms are in the basement, and there is clearly a full family living upstairs. Also if you take a look at the five star reviews, many of them have only reviewed this one place in Canada and have very similar last names to the owner.

Three days later and the shower was still not cleaned, the owner had every opportunity to come and clean it but never did

My husband and I had a wonderful 5-night stay at The Boston "T". Our hosts, Shelley and Serge, were very warm and welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. It was a quiet, relaxing spot in the country, yet very accessible to the 417 and to downtown Ottawa. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts, augmented by herbs and produce from Shelley's garden. Our room was spotless! We highly recommend the Boston "T" Bed & Breakfast when visiting Ottawa.

We recently spent three days here at the Boston "T", and I highly recommend it. My wife & I were warmly treated by our hosts (Serge, Shelley & Daisy). The breakfasts were excellent!!

Also, it is only about a 25 minute drive to downtown Ottawa from here so the location lends itself to someone needing to head downtown. Serge and Shelley are very knowledgeable about the surrounding area, offering helpful suggestions.

We will certainly stay here again if we're in the area.

We spent two nights in June 2023. Everything was excellent. The house is beautiful. You get to feel the country atmosphere and at the same time if needed it's not that far from Ottawa the city. Shelley and Serge are great hosts. Rooms were very cosy and comfortable. Shelley was very flexible, preparing delicious breakfast meals that took into consideration that we are following a plant based diet. Highly recommended.

I had a wonderful 2 night stay at Boston T! The breakfasts were first rate, well presented and super tasty: sausage and french toast one day and eggs bennie the other, both with fresh fruits and juice. Enough to last until dinner! The room was well appointed with a large private ensuite, and the bed was super comfortable. The guest’s sitting room is very elegant and has a large TV. Serge and Shelly are great hosts and offer a friendly face and conversation and ensure that you have everything to make your stay comfortable. It is a great place for a get-away far from the crowds of the city. Highly recommended.

We spent our anniversary at the Darling Mansion in the Opium Den and I can’t imagine a better experience. The room was perfect, the shower was luxurious and the bed was so comfortable. Tanya is a gem and made wonderful recommendations for places to celebrate, she was always so fast to respond to my many questions and as just an amazing host. The Darling Mansion is the most unique and perfectly curated gem in Toronto! We can’t wait to stay there again!

We stayed in the opium den. It was divine. A unique & groovy mansion, with interior plaster work lovingly maintained, With so many rockin', kinky accents your Instagram may melt from the heat. The canopy bed was romantic and very comfortable. The shower room is a very beautiful experience. The terrace affords that rare opportunity to relax in the open air and enjoy a Canada Dry in its native environment. Kimonos and coffee are provided. And Tanya, the Owner, is delightful and you should know more people like her, you know? Your friends are a little boring, frankly

I attended a wedding at The Grand and my family and I had such a great time. The venue is beautiful! Lovely decor in both the ceremony room and the reception hall. We also had the chance to enjoy drinks and appetizers at their pub and outdoor patio. It was fantastic! The service too was incredible and the food was amazing. From the appetizers all the way to desserts and late night snack tables, everything was delicious. I would totally recommend this venue if you need to host a special occasion!

I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at The Grand Carleton Place in mid-August, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. The venue itself is stunning — elegant, spacious, and filled with beautiful natural light that made capturing the day such a joy.

What truly stood out, though, was the staff. Steve, the manager, was incredibly hospitable and went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly for the couple, their guests, and even us vendors. The entire team was professional, attentive, and genuinely kind, which made such a difference in creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.

From a photographer’s perspective, it’s a dream location with both indoor and outdoor options that photograph beautifully. But more importantly, The Grand Carleton Place delivers an exceptional guest (and vendor!) experience, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to any couple searching for their wedding venue.

Jane is also a wonderful person,she is very accommodating. She gave me a double bed suite on the main floor for the price of the queen size room upstairs, I had booked in the first place because my daughter had an issue with stairs after surgery. It was very generous and thoughtful of her and we really appreciated. I loved chatting with Jane, she is a very interesting and warm person. I highly recommend her place if you are in Toronto. Looking forward to going back again.

This was such a lovely place to stay. It is just a short walk from the transit station so it was very convenient to walk. The breakfast each morning was fresh and delicious.
The bed was perfectly soft and comfortable and I had the best sleep every night. I will definitely stay here the next time I visit Toronto. Thank you!

I had an wonderful stay for four nights. Jane and Steve were lovely hosts. The location is in a nice neighbourhood and seven minutes walking from subway station (use DuPont Station), my room was spacious and completely renovated , breakfast was perfect and the price point was excellent. I highly recommend The Jane, you will not be disappointed!

Wonderful stay. The room we stayed in was spacious and very relaxing. Everything we needed was there. The location was perfect to experience lots of fun activities in Toronto and we could walk to the subway in minutes. Breakfast was delicious. Would absolutely recommend it and stay here again myself if I’m in town.

Lovely boutique hotel very centrally located near Bloor. Super comfy beds and blackout curtains are fabulous. I forgot my toothpaste and voilas, they gave me some! Great breakfast and I loved the Nespresso machine in my room. Great value.
