We always stay at this hotel when flying out of Calgary.
The rooms are clean, comfortable, and have everything that we need.
The restaurant and lounge always have the friendliest staff!
We also like that we have the option of leaving our vehicle at the hotel while we are away and that it is quite affordable.
The airport shuttle is also very much appreciated.
Even though I have previously written a review for this specific hotel, I wanted to write another as we recently had Basil check us in and we were so impressed with his friendly and attentive service! He was so helpful and personable. We really appreciated his warmth and hospitality!

If you are travelling with pets - stay away from this hotel! They charge 50 CAD for pet per day. What a rip off and total discrimination!

Booked a room over the phone and requested pet friendly room. No mention of the pet charge at that time. During check-in ensured that a pet friendly room is provided. The price given at that time was for the room ONLY. After going upstairs with all the luggage, approximately 20min later got a call into the room from reception requesting to head back down to fill in a pet form. Only at that time I was told that a 50 CAD pet fee will be applied to the booking. This was a shock. They provided paper bowl, small toy and few poop bags after filling the form... such a great value for 50 CAD and totally useless as those are essential items we always have with us while we travel with our Rhodesian Ridgeback.

You can do better Best Western Premier!!!!

Also, older room and not a great location from the truck fumes and noise perspective (close proximity truck depots).

We had a really good experience here. Front desk staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. Rooms were clean and we had lots of room (2 adults, 2 children). Restaurant was decent for a late night meal and had pretty good options. Pool was busy but kids still had a great time. Rate was reasonable comsidering we booked a last minute stay.

My wife and I had our flight cancelled so had to stay in Calgary overnight. The Ukrainian gentleman who drove the shuttle was exceptional and sympathetic to our situation. The food was very good and the hotel was clean. Our only complaint was a slight smell of urine in our room my wife noticed the morning we woke up…. The hotel is pet friendly so I guess that makes sense. We would definitely stay here again.

Rooms are clean and quiet and the bed is very comfortable. I generally only stay at Best Western Hotels and have stayed here several times on business. Only issues I have is the hot tub has been closed the last two times i was here and the gym equipment is workable but in badly need of tune ups.

This was a great find for my visit to the university! The owner was very friendly and helpful to arrange for my trip. The room was downstairs and had its own bathroom and kitchen. Aside from the lack of a living room, mosquitoes in the entrance, this was super!! The staff changed my bedding and towels everyday! Also, this place was surprisingly quiet. But the location was walking distance to everything I need to check out.

The room was clean the bed was very comfortable the Staff was very friendly and helpful it is a beautiful old Victorian house. Felt very safe, The Location was great very central and easy too get around the city from there, price was very reasonable. Would recommend.

Beautiful, quiet, Victoria-style room. I luckily moved in one of the biggest room in the B&B, which is well-furnished and warmhearted. The whole structure is reasonable, and there are approximately 4 rooms on one floor, so it's a really quiet and relaxed place for those who first come to Toronto. And, the breakfast is fresh and tasty as well. I did have a wonderful experience when staying in that house!

There is no breakfast, at least for now, so be aware if you stay here you will need to go elsewhere for breakfast. The place is quite clean, though our bed was not comfortable.

Every time we called, i got the feeling he'd forgotten about us. There's no way to book the room on the website so we had to call, and even after the first conversation i wasn't confident. So we emailed closer to the date of our trip and asked if we're still on the calendar and he confirmed yes, and asked us to call the day of our trip. On the day we wrre heading up, we called in the morning and got an "oh...right...call an hour before you get here." So we called again an hour before and didn't get an answer. Finally about 15 minutes before we get there he picks up and we tell him we're almost there and he says "oh right, I'll let the housekeeper know." The whole process did not inspire confidence.
My husband was also initally told we would get a room with a balcony but when we got there we were led to a room with no balcony and there was an electrician still working on an outlet. We sat outside for about 10 minutes waiting for him to finish.

The parking is not free. There is very limited parking behind the house, and they charge $15/day to park. We left our car there and walked/bussed everywhere because we didn't want to lose our parking.

The best things about the BnB are 1) location - they are close to chinatown and the Kensington market area, and in general are pretty centrally located. Toronto is fairly easy to get around using public transportation too. 2) price is pretty good, but you also aren't getting a whole lot. 3) there is a nice Bechstein grand piano on the ground floor.

My friend & I stayed in the 2 third floor rooms from 5/16-5/18 when we came to see the Kusama exhibit at the Art Gallery of Ontario. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Beverly Place. The location was ideal. We were within walking distance of the Art Gallery, Eaton Center and the downtown area. The weather was nice enough to enjoy the rooftop terrace outside of my room.

We book this hotel for the location access to Steven avenue and restaurants close to downtown. It's a great location. I can't deny that. However, it's a loud hotel. There is no noise by law on Steven avenue. Windows are paper thin. You can hear every single sound lasting till 12:30 1:00 in the morning. Windows are so bad that it seems like you have a window left open. You can hear everything on the street. The hotel puts ear plugs on the on the bed stand tables not a good sign. Noise was so bad on a Saturday night. We ended up having to move rooms at 12:30 to get to the other side of the hotel. So what wasn't so noisy. Do not get a room that faces west. I do not recommend 2306. As well, fitness room is well stocked, a good fitness room. Cool and hot tub are closed which they only just recently updated but they don't have a pool or hot tub. The club lounge was quite good very spacious. No access to the patio however.
The hotel staff did try their best but mad it is not a peaceful stay. It is very very very very very very very noisy.

We got an upgraded room that was quite spacious. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom counter large to hold all our toiletries. M club was well stocked with food and drink, all though lacking in diet beverage choices. The house made kettle chips with maple butter were fabulous. The Marriott was within easy walking distance to Stepen Street, Calgary Tower, the Bow River and other interesting sites.

For the most part, our stay here was good. It's in a really good area of downtown and was convenient to get to everything.

There were three frustrating things that reflect the rating, one of which was out of their control.

The item out of their control, the construction that was happening literally right beside the hotel, made for an early wake-up call. Also, there are people who busk on that same street behind the hotel, which can get annoying at night.

The hotel doesn't have a pool, which was pretty shocking.

Their AI phone answering service sucks, and it made it hard to get answers when you needed them. Booking seems to be handled by a third-party service, and I had a ton of issues trying to get my room reserved.

Stayed here on a recent business trip and had a great experience. The Downtown Marriott is super well located—right in the heart of Calgary and very walkable. My room was clean, comfortable, and had a surprisingly nice view for downtown.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and I really liked the little lounge area and the convenience of having food and drinks on-site. There's also a Starbucks in the lobby, which made mornings easy.

The fitness centre was another plus—spacious, clean, and well-equipped, which is great when you're trying to stay on track while traveling.

Would definitely stay here again for business. Solid choice all around.

The hotel was comfortable. Would I stay again - no. There was no breakfast included which was unexpected. Not even free coffee in the lobby (they had a machine but you had to pay for it). For the price of the room for the night, I would have expected even free coffee. Front desk was very polite and we could check in early which was nice. Valet was great (though a bit confusing as there are 2 hotels at this location). All in all it was fine for the 2 nights but I wouldn't stay again due to price, location and lack of free breakfast being included.

Wonderful B&B, highly recommend! We stayed one night in the "Arise and shine room" on Jan 31, 2018. The house is beautiful, spacious, tastefully decorated and very clean. The owner Soraya is a gracious and accommodating host. Our room was large, with bright windows and very nice bathroom. Breakfast was delicious!

Great price for an amazing stay, the beds were super comfortable, the house was immaculate, the overall atmosphere was very relaxing. The breakfast was just right. I stayed there for a wedding and the price was similar to what other people were paying for a tiny hotel room, the B&B was miles above what others were getting for a comparable price.

This B&B is a wonderful retreat zone! The hostess Soraya is gracious and welcoming. It was a great restorative weekend. Beautifully appointed and I will be plan to be there in the summer when the pool and gardens are in full splendor.

The home and (our) Ambassador Suite are cozy, spacious, memorable, and well-kept; Soraya Moreau, the host is even better. If you like the look of natural wood in furniture and trim, East of Eden Bed & Breakfast has lots of it. Soraya tops the charts for her hospitality and breakfast. She can count on us returning there many times for our annual visit.

Our experience at the Fairmont Palliser left nothing for wanting...it was the perfect way to celebrate our anniversary. Our suite was gracious and inviting, with a bed and linens that felt like pure luxury. The in-room music station, complete with LPs, added a touch of nostalgia that set such a memorable tone for our stay.

The Gold Floor is simply the best. We love the private lounge, the peace, the view, the carefully chosen beverages, snacks, and delightful evening canapés. Having a breakfast buffet in the Gold Lounge is another fabulous perk that makes the experience feel even more special.

the location is right in the heart of Calgary and afforded us so many options for dining and shopping.

Most of all, we cannot rave enough about the staff. Their attention to detail, genuine kindness, and thoughtful accommodations ensured our stay was everything we hoped for and more. We found ourselves looking forward to our interactions and seeing their smiling faces throughout the day. Everyone worked in sync to make us feel special and appreciated.

We leave very satisfied and very grateful. The Fairmont Palliser made our anniversary celebration unforgettable.

We recently had our wedding here end of August- and it was absolutely spectacular in every way. I would also like to mention out of many Fairmont franchises throughout Canada, this location in Calgary has the best food, our guests could not stop going on about how amazing the food was at our wedding. The staff, the venue layout, the service, the FOOD-it was incredible. It is also so gorgeous inside, especially with the new renovations. I highly recommend staying here or planning an event, there are so many rooms to utilize through out the hotel. Nicole was incredible to work with, she always got back to me right away via email and phone calls and went above and beyond for us in every way possible. She also was so kind and caring the day of to help with nerves and accessing all of our different hotel rooms. I highly recommend staying here and enjoying this historic hotel downtown Calgary, or even hosting events- it's very special, with a superb staff, an opulent atmosphere and guaranteed fun times :)

I recently had my wedding at The Fairmont Palliser and it was AMAZING!!! The entire team from Nicole their Event Sales & Services Manager, the chefs, bartenders, guest services, etc., literally everyone went above and beyond and made me feel so special. At the end of the week they all felt like family. I had around 200 guests coming from the states and the resounding feedback was "I want to come back to Calgary for the Palliser." The location, history, ambiance and of course the service truly make this hotel unmatched. Whether you are just staying one night or looking to have an event at this hotel, I cannot recommend it enough. Looking forward to going back!!!

I loved most everything about the hotel, except the room was too hot and the TV didn't work. We asked for them to fix the issues and it didn't happen. We also had a very noisy room. It would be a good idea to offer guests earplugs. The traffic of a very busy city can be very loud especially if you have to open your window to cool the room down. We loved the Gold members guest's breakfast in the penthouse. That was awesome!
The heated bathroom floor is an elegant touch. The bathtub is a bit slippery. After falling in a slick tub, I am very conscious of tubs. A bath mat being available would fix the issue. There are not enough outlets available by both sides of the bed.

Two days before visit, we were notified our rooms were not available due to hotel error, but arrangements had been made with the Airport Marriott. I called the Airport Marriott and they had no such record. Contacted the Palliser and they said they actually had a room for us. I promptly upgraded when sent the new confirmation and the upgrade was confirmed. Got to the hotel and we’d been upgraded -gratis- to a smaller room than the one which we’d just upgraded. Maybe minor to Palliser, but this was well below our expectations of a Fairmont. Confirmed this after a subsequent and perfect 5 day stay at the Banff Springs Fairmont.

My stay at the Holiday Inn & Suites Montreal Centre-Ville Ouest was fantastic. The first thing I noticed was how clean and well-maintained the entire hotel was, from the lobby to my room. Everything felt fresh and welcoming.

The staff deserves a special mention. Every person I interacted with was incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional, which really added to the positive experience.

For me, the location was unbeatable. Being so close to public transportation made getting around the city a breeze. The biggest bonus was the 747 airport bus stop located directly in front of the hotel. This made my arrival and departure completely stress-free.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Montreal. The combination of a clean and comfortable room, wonderful staff, and incredible convenience makes it a top choice. I will definitely be staying here again on my next trip!

The hotel itself is nice . clean rooms, comfortable, and with a good view. However, the staff’s behavior completely ruined the experience. They were extremely unfriendly and unhelpful. At one point, my friend was choking and coughing, so we called the front desk to ask if they could bring water to the room. Instead of helping, they refused and told us to go downstairs and buy it ourselves. In any proper hotel, sending water to a guest’s room is normal and could easily be added to the bill.
On top of that, the elevators are painfully slow ! every trip downstairs took about 8–9 minutes of waiting.
Even though the hotel itself was nice, I won’t be staying here again because of the rude and unwelcoming staff.

Well placed in the heart of downtown, not too far away from a metro station, which can be convenient to reach other places in the city. The hotel’s cleanliness is impeccable, as well as their rooms. Bathroom was well stocked both in terms of towels, with updated soap & lotion (both from Dove, opposed to your stereotypical mini soap bar, that dries out your skin faster than a hair dryer in the Sahara). Bed, as well, was tailored for someone who would desire a specific level of comfort, especially within the range the pillow can be between firm & soft, but also in between. Whether for a quick escape from a routined lifestyle, or just comfort during a business trip, booking a room there may satisfy well.

The staff overall was helpful, welcoming, & had proper customer service to ensure the experience in staying in their establishment was memorable.

This is hands down one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at—especially for the value. The staff are incredibly friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful, delivering that old-school, top-tier customer service you don’t see much anymore. The rooms are spotless, the food is great, and the amenities—pool, sauna, and more—make it feel like a true full-service, luxury hotel.

Honestly, this isn’t just the best Holiday Inn I’ve stayed at—it’s one of the best hotels, period. I stayed here last weekend for a concert in Montreal and again this weekend for ÎleSoniq, and I’ll definitely be back whenever I’m in the city. Huge thanks to the staff and Holiday Inn for making every stay amazing.

Location is very close to a Metro stop and a grocery store. Spent 5 nights there in August 2025 with my spouse on vacation. Was able to see a lot of Old Montreal and the downtown neighborhoods using transit to get around. Rooms are well kept and service is good. Restaurant is good for breakfast, ok for dinner with a relatively small menu. I wish they had machines with bottled pop and water on the floors, there's only a cooler at reception with that, and you have wait in sometimes a long lineup to pay at the desk.

I experienced something special while I was there. The personnel were conscientious, polite, and willing to serve my family and me. Their professionalism and courtesy made us feel welcome and well taken care of.

The accommodations were better than we expected. The rooms were spacious, well-maintained, clean, and warm with all the amenities in place in order to have a comfortable visit.

I was impressed with the in-hotel amenities. The gym was clean and well-equipped for working out while on the road. The pool area was clean and well-suited for relaxation and play.

Service was top-notch, with every little detail being taken care of meticulously. The experience showed keen care for the satisfaction of the guests. I would definitely recommend the property for the finest experience.

The hotel was decent. We had some issues with our first room, but the manager was excellent and moved us to another room immediately. Staff was friendly and helpful.
We used the pool a few times and the pool was really well maintained and clean. One of the best hotel pools we have used.
The only downsides is there is nothing around and you will need a car. The other issue us that the walls are very thin and we could almost hear conversations from the room next door.

This was an unscheduled stay as our flight was canceled. There is an airport shuttle available for pick up/ drop off. Hotel is clean, staff extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms well appointed and comfortable beds. Pillows were not the best (very thin). We had a small kitchenette which had everything we needed. They have a small convenience store in the lobby as well.

Stayed over for one night. The room was clean and the bed was very comfy. There was lots of parking available. There is a hot breakfast included, which was eggs, waffles, cereal, toast, ect.

The restaurant in the lobby got pretty busy around dinner but the food came out pretty quick.

There was gifted face wash in the bathroom and I used it, and I got a crazy rash on my face, and 4 days later my skin is still peeling off. Please change your toiletries.

We recently stayed at this hotel and found our room very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was also delicious, with a good variety of options.

However, our experience was significantly marred by an incident with a staff member preparing breakfast. She directly accused my child of spilling water on the counter, stating it caused her extra work. The counter was already in that condition when we came in. Being falsely accused, especially for a child, was upsetting and made us feel awful.

While the hotel's amenities are good, this interaction with staff was disappointing and unprofessional, overshadowing an otherwise pleasant stay.

Close to everything. No need to bring your car as everything is a close walking distance. The service was amazing. If only the AC was strong enough to reach the room, it would have been perfect. They provided a fan which helped. It’s on an old building so no elevator. Very spacious and you can cook your own meals.

This was perfect for our family trip. The space was clean, spacious, and very comfortable — ideal for staying with children. We especially appreciated the thoughtful setup and home-like atmosphere. The host was incredibly friendly and made us feel very welcome from the start. The kitchen was super handy — we could cook simple meals, which made things easier with the kids. The location was also excellent, within easy reach of major attractions and amenities. We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to families.

Recently stayed in their studio suite over the long weekend, and it was a great experience! We arrived late from our drive from Toronto, and they kindly checked us in without issue. We paid for valet parking as well, so it was one of the easiest and smooth check-ins I've had.

The staff are friendly, and our room was clean and tidy. Standout is the central location! Would visit again!

We just enjoyed a wonderful stay at Parc Suites. We used it as a home base to walk many, many miles as we explored Montreal. The host was very friendly and helpful, and the room was tidy and clean. It was nice to have a small kitchenette and two sleeping spaces.

We were given early check in time; man working was super accommodating, after a long day of traveling we got a day room at noon, even though it was very busy. Great room, great service, cleaned a room for us quickly and had great recommendations

We had an excellent stay at this hotel for 3 nights, and the experience was truly pleasant from start to finish. Our booking process was seamless, thanks to the reservation team's exceptional helpfulness and attentiveness. Upon arrival, our check-in was quick and efficient, and the staff provided us with comprehensive information about the hotel's amenities.

One of the highlights of our stay was the pet-friendly facilities. Since we were traveling with our dog, we appreciated the designated area nearby our room where he could stretch his legs and take care of his daily needs.

Our room was spacious, well-lit, and equipped with all the essentials, including a fully stocked kitchenette with a large refrigerator, dishwasher, hair dryer, and iron with a stand. However, the breakfast menu was a bit disappointing, as it remained the same for all 3 days, which became repetitive and boring. As a result, we ended up exploring local dining options.

Despite the breakfast issue, everything else was perfect, and we would definitely consider returning to this hotel in the future.

In general, convenient location if you drive (free parking). Likely you can arrive anywhere in 40 minutes cross Calgary. The room is big, but no ensuite laundry. Washing machine and dryer are available on the 1st floor. I wish there’s a kettle for hot tea with regular tea bags such as Earl Grey or black tea, but the hotel does provide orange flavour drink bag. Hotel looks clean and good inside. Air conditioner was working quietly and didn’t wake up me. Service is excellent and and helped to fix an issue right after we called front desk. Yes, agreed on other reviews about breakfast. We stayed 3 nights and complimentary breakfast were exactly the same, boiled eggs, apples, oranges and bananas, vanilla and strawberries yogurt, some cereals, bread and bagels, juice machines and coffee machine for regular and decaf. Overall it is a nice place and I would recommend it.

Rooms have a full kitchen- if you like to cook for yourself while away from home this is a great place for you! Great gym for a hotel and free laundry room available you just need to bring your own soap. Staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating- especially the gal in charge of breakfast she is definitely an all star employee. Front desk was also lovely.

Spacious room with good quality furniture. The front desk staff were super friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was just okay, but it’s free, so no complaints. Overall, we had a very comfortable and pleasant stay!

Lots of room for my toddler to run around. We stayed in a king bed suite. Very convenient that the room had a kitchenette. I was able to get a few things to put in the fridge for a picnic with my toddler.

Felt safe to take my toddler for a walk with my dog at night. Quiet area despite the airport not being far.

Was also able to easily extend my stay the day of check in. Reasonable prices and very reasonable to Expedia and booking to book at the hotel.

Would stay again.

My family and i stayed at the Pine Tree View bungalow while we were visiting town for a funeral. My husbands uncle died and left us $4000 if we showed up to his funeral and we wanted to use the cash to take our kids on a cruise. Anyway, we showed up thursday night and found the keys under the ceramic frog like the instructions said. What we first noticed was the strange smell coming from what we thought was the basement. We told our children to avoid the basement and slipped them Benadryl in their orange juice. After they passed out, hubby and i got busy in the purple living room and drank wine while describing the things we could do to each other on our romantic family disney cruise we could finally go on after his hick uncle died. lets just say that black leather couch is COMFORTABLE ;) anyways, the next morning we found the owners in the kitchen, turns out they were in the basement the whole time. I think they heard hubby and I the night before LOL. So yeah, if you want a cheap exhibitionistic stay for your husbands hick uncles funeral this is for sure the place for you

Great place to stay off the beaten path. Good for families, or couples. House has cable, fireplace, kitchen, dining and two washrooms. Backyard is amazing and the owners are very accommodating and polite.

Very nice place to stay if you have an event outside of Ottawa and at a reasonable price. Stayed here for a night while attending a wedding and slept great.

Had an excellent stay here recently. The value for money is unmatched. The apartments are modern, clean, and comfortable - and cheaper than most hotels. It's a no brainer as long as you don't feel the need for a full-serve hotel.

Horrible, horrible experience with this company. Drove from Toronto to Ottawa to spend four days and when I got there, they told me I don't have a reservation even though they took my money and I had an itinerary number. I honestly do not recommend this "hotel". Save your time and just book at a traditional hotel

I finally had the opportunity to eat pancakes with real syrup :)
Of course, I recommend the place, close to the center, very nice service.

Nice rooms, very spacious, but very poor communication about check in instructions when you check in on a weekend (since no one is present to help you) and no one replied to my emails that I found on their website asking for my hotel invoice after checking out.

Really enjoyed our stay! Easy to find, great communication, and the room have a beautiful view of the city. We also had a late checkout - free of charge - The only thing is the pool and spa is close for visitors & I had to call to know, it should be mentioned in my opinion. I think that the price should reflect that as well. Also our room only had one shower robe but 2 pair of slippers…

The room was exceptionally spacious, clean, and well-equipped with full kitchen facilities. The white noise machine was a welcome addition that helped ensure a restful night. We also appreciated the delicious breakfast included in the price, as well as the complimentary bag in the breakfast room containing a bottle of water, a granola bar, and oatmeal cookies, a thoughtful touch for guests on the go.

The price is very reasonable considering the quality and amenities offered. We received an upgraded suite with a lovely balcony, and the location is ideal for exploring the city or getting to meetings with ease. The staff were friendly, professional, and attentive throughout our stay.

A very pleasant stay while visiting in town. Very adequately presented suite with everything essential and a nice selection of complimentary breakfast included. Very friendly and helpful service from the hotel staff at the lobby counter and the rest of the hospitality/cleaning staff. Well located , situated within walking distance to the main attractions near Parliament Hill. Very satisfied with my stay at The Business Inn & Suites and will be booking again here for my next trip and stay in Ottawa. Much recommended to stay at!

A good quality budget hotel located below McLarens pub. The hotel itself is pretty basic without any special amenities. However, the rooms are really large, clean, and have a full kitchen. The staff are friendly and helpful.

We chose this hôtel for its central location and we were not disappointed. The room was à small appartement with lots of équipment. We were on the quiet side (car park). The breakfast room was busy but we found space for 3 easily. There was à lot of chose and even bars to go with water, cereal bar and biscuits. Only complain was the price of the car Park, 25 CAD before tax.

I stayed in a private room with a private bath, and it was really great. The staff was so so helpful. They will hold your bags before you check in and after you check out. The private room was very cozy, had everything I needed. The location is fantastic, maybe the best in the city; walking distance (under 15 minutes) to Chinatown, the AGO, Union Station, Downtown, and much more. Also right on the transit line.

My only note is that the air vent in the bathroom runs continuously and it looked to be very full. I had no effect on my stay, but could be a safety issue if not looked at.

Location was amazing and front desk people were great. Easy check in, and seperate entrance to the hotel (with key card needed to get in). The room was a bit small but very clean. We got the room with the private bathroom but the shared bathrooms looked like they were well maintained. Definitely will stay there again !

Not a fancy place, it’s just ok to stay few days with basic necessities provided though no fridge if you need it.
The main thing is jazz bar on ground floor. While serving typical bar staples it is an attraction for all music lovers who is into jazz or first time going to live performance. Absolutely worth paying admission. I loved the music though I was lucky to come across a session played by very seasoned musicians. Those are big names in jazz.
If you stay in the hotel then definitely check out the bar. They serve free coffee and toasts to hotel patrons too.

I chose this place for a one (ended up being two) night stay in Toronto based on the price and location. Price compared to other hotels/hostels in the area. While the location is very convenient on Queen St., the place is VERY old and absolutely zero frills, although Staff at the front were friendly and helpful. Walking into my room immediately felt like the first time I entered my college dorm. The bed was clean, but the room was pretty beat up and very small. It worked as a place to sleep, but that was really about it. This is also an old building and only three stories (one floor is the jazz bar, and two floors or rooms). I was on the second floor and yes, could also hear the jazz directly below me. Wasn't too much of a problem since I was out exploring the town, but don't expect a quiet environment if you plan to sleep before 1130pm (2330).

Additionally, parking is limited and you will need to pay to park at a nearby garage. I felt my belongings were safe, however the garage was $30 per day. Something to consider if you have a car with you.
All in all, it was a bed to sleep in and the room was clean. But there isn't a whole lot else to say about the place.

We went to the jazz bar. The musicians were great, they gave a wonderful show.

I booked a table for 3, but we got a table for two and they told us we couldn’t move the chairs around the table. So the 3 of us felt quite cramped sitting in a row along one table trying to eat our food and listen to the music.

Also with my order, they gave me (pretty distinctly) tostitos salsa; would recommend that they replace with a homemade salsa instead.

We stayed here one night. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Beds are comfortable, rooms are clean and continental breakfast was good with lots of selection and food (oatmeal, pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, toast, cereal, yogurt, and hashbrowns; 3 types of juice, coffee, milk and tea). We will definitely stay there again!

Room is clean , sheets clean. Beds are comfortable with lots of pillows. Bathroom needs an urgent update, the shower is very old, bathtub slippery and dangerous. Coffee maker is good, works well. The tv remote needs to be changed, it was broken, hard to change channels. They offer breakfast but it ends at 9am, too soon! Could go up to 9:30, not all travellers leave so early!

The room was not clean, especially the bathroom. Very noisy location with constant traffic. I wanted a ground floor room because I had my dog with me. They insisted they didn't have any and I was forced to climb the stairs with luggage and dog. I could clearly see there were plenty of empty rooms on the ground floor. The breakfast was good though.

Loved this location. Really great breakfast, hairdryer in room with Kierig. We had two cats and it was worth the pet fee. Maybe an older location. But super clean and friendly.

Amazing experience, everything was great. Staff/hostel were friendly, extremely polite and very helpful.
Dorms were clean, washrooms were clean and were checked often by staff for any needs. Kitchen was fully equipped, did not face any challenge whatsoever.
AC needs servicing, it was working but slow cooling. Fan helped with cooling though.

I would highly recommend this place, as solo traveller to new country I was very comfortable.

Fine for what it was but wouldn't stay again (or at least not in the private bunk bed room). Pros: staff were friendly, the location is great, and the terrace was a welcomed amenity. Cons: Our AC was broken, there's no outlet/extension cord for the top bunk + not all the outlets worked, the kitchen is not accessible after 9pm (even if you just want to put food in the fridge), and there's only two toilets per floor (one broke during our stay). The terrace also gets rented out for private events and was unavailable for guests half of the time (there's no heads up about this).

Amazing location, helpful staff, homely vibe and social hostel, without amenities.

The services aren’t great, air conditioning doesn’t work and couldn’t get fixed during our stay for the week (during summer). Washrooms are cramped and also had plumbing issues. I wouldn’t recommend it at all if you’re looking for comfort, but definitely yes if you’re looking for a great location with a good overall vibe.

I had a wonderful stay at the Auberge du Plateau (private room, shared bathrooms). Super clean, quiet, and with incredibly friendly and helpful staff. The common room is great, with a very nice breakfast each morning. Great location, a short walk from the metro and to Saint Laurent. Able to leave my bags after checkout until my train later that day. If I return to Montreal I will certainly stay again.

I am flabbergasted, this place is better than most hotels I have stayed. It is absolutely beautiful, close to basically everywhere by foot, bus stop in front, metro 5 mins away. Lobby is so pretty, nice romantic French music, or some lovely jazz is playing in the back. Everyone I talked to at the front desk was very kind and friendly. They are very accommodating too. Rooms are clean, they give you fresh bedding and towels. Toilet was also clean. The bed was comfortable. And the breakfast?? It was perfect, they even make you fresh pancakes, it was an amazing start of the day. They even had real marmalade🤤 Kitchen is well equipped and also spotless. I can’t believe I paid $20 for such beautiful service. I am definitely coming back.

My wife and I had an absolutely lovely time. I was excited about the big bathtub to soak my joints after walking all day--I was a little concerned it would be impossible to get a tub that big full of hot enough water, but it wasn't a problem at all! Very lovely after a long day. The room itself was absolutely gorgeous with fun antique furniture and beautiful paintings. It was a very welcome change from boring, Grey and beige hotel rooms. We got in super late, but the staff made sure ahead of time that we had everything we needed for a smooth check in, which was so nice after a stressful journey. The parking was easy and they gave good instructions to get there.

Breakfast was absolutely divine. The eggs Benedict and french toast were some of the best I've ever had, and the staff was so friendly and welcoming and accommodating. Check in and check out were painless and easy. This was a beautiful, refreshing experience for a VERY reasonable price!

We chose this rental for the convenience and location. The room we had didn’t have a washroom but there was one in the hallway exclusive to our suite so no problem there really. The room was quiet and clean. It was simplistic with no coffee machine or view to speak of. The plus to this place was the location because you’re pretty much close to everything with a metro station just down the street. 👍😎

My husband and I stayed 2 nights this summer at Auberge Les Bons Matins. The management made a great effort to create a comfortable, cozy, and artfully-decorated space, with great attention to details. Quiet room for a good rest. The room had everything we needed, incl a small round table to work at, and good space to store your bags; and the adjacent shaded parking lot was great. The location is also fantastic: metro nearby, short walk to grocery stores and restos, to Parc Mont Royal and to la belle rue Sainte Catherine! The reception is not staffed full-time so that was a bit of a change for us but if you inform management of your check-in time, they make it easy, and they are quick to respond via text. We typically get up early and hit the city however next time we stay here we will take advantage of the breakfast ---the dining room is lovely! I'd definitely recommend it - it was charming and a refreshing change from large hotel chains nearby.

It is an older set of building, they are very clean and comfortable. They have thought of everything you could want or need. It is also very private and you rarely see staff unless you need them.

Pay parking at the rear, and spots are large enough for a pickup truck ( this is impressive if you have visited Montreal before and know parking can be very difficult. Parking is accessed at the rear of the building which takes a drive around the block to get to, but you are given a map and great instructions to get there.

I will definitely be staying here again!

This was more a hostel then a hotel. The room wasn't very sound proofed. We could hear the people next door talking all night. The baseboard and trim was all banged up. Our bathroom was very unappealing and we found the stairs up to the bathroom a safety hazard. There was also no door for the bathroom except for doors with all glass on them. No privacy in the bathroom at all

This is one of my favorite hostels! It is right in downtown Ottawa, women only and very affordable. I stayed twice on different occasions and found the owner to be super friendly and welcoming. The place itself feels more like a holiday home. They always try to give everyone their own room, which is nice (some of the rooms may be a little small when fully booked, but so far, I have never had to share on my winter vacation). The beds are very comfy, everything is very clean and the bathrooms and living room area are the nicest I have seen in a hostel so far. Some smaller things: It would be great if there was a little stove for cooking for people who don't like microwaved food (there are some take-aways nearby though). Also, the shower handle in the bathroom upstairs was a bit loose, so adjusting the water temperature took some time. Otherwise, the hostel is very well-maintained and it feels like they do their best to keep up a high standard. Other travelers were quiet and friendly, too. Absolutely recommend this place!

A clean and quiet place to sleep, located near to all attractions. Supermarket is 2 mins walk away. Overall it feels like staying at a friend’s place, cosy and homey.

Provide fresh towel everyday. Toilets are cleaned everyday. Most comfortable blanket in my trip so far. Great ventilation. Basic toiletries provided. I especially appreciate that they don’t try to put everyone in a room while it’s not fully occupied. That gives us so much of space to have our much needed rest.

However, note that it only has oven, means it is not possible to cook.
Barefoot means you have to take off the shoes. Rooms are all upstairs. Mirrors are plenty but would be better to have a full sized mirror.

Lovely, clean hostel in a gorgeous old building. Check-in is at the Swiss Hotel next door. Kitchenette has a full size fridge, microwave, kettle and coffee maker. All bedrooms and a bathroom are upstairs, main floor has kitchinette, living area, and another washroom, with separate toilet and shower. I had to wait a couple minutes this morning to get into the washroom, but nothing too bad. There are a lot of community support organizations near the hostel, so I would recommend sticking to main roads like Cumberland and Rideau if you are anxious about arriving late. All the other guests were very friendly and courteous. Great value for the price. Thanks!

One of the best hostels I've stayed in. It is small, cosy (the max. Number of people is 16) and a great home feel. The hostel is cleaned everyday with towels and linen replaced very often - it feels more like a giant BnB then a hostel. The lady who owns it is very nice and helpful :) even the free instant coffee tastes good! I highly recommend it :)

I stayed here for 1 night and was very pleased with my stay. It was incredibly clean and cozy, plus you have a full kitchen downstairs and all the bedrooms are upstairs. The lady was very welcoming and sweet. I recommend booking from their own website.

I use a walker and The first night I was put in a room too far away from the elevator for me. The next morning the front desk staff moved me to the bottom floor that was easy access for me. We also got adjoining rooms which was wonderful with kids. Very kind and helpful staff. Food was great, water slide and pool were fun. Fitness room is adequate. Lovely hotel. Will definitely stay there again.

Restaurant could use some better service. Both times I went, there was nobody to seat us, as we had to seat ourselves and also had to ask for a server. Our bill or server didn't return to our table for a long time. Had to go to the restaurant entrance desk to pay. Not a big deal, but something to get right.

Rooms were quiet, beds and pillows are comfy, air conditioning/heater worked very fast.

Pool and hot tub area are good fun for the kids.

Would recommend this hotel for mid-level hotel stay.

We stayed here for 3 days and the room condition was so nice. We worried about the facilities from some reviews. But everything was fine. The queen-size bed was so comfortable and the washroom was also clean and looked nice. I hope to try their indoor swimming pool, but we don't have much time. The staff were friendly and nice to the customers. If you don't care about the location, I recommend it.

Easy to get to, close to the airport and they have a shuttle (we didn't use this as we didn't fly). Rooms were nice and clean. We had a two Queen beds with a tub shower. Nice to have an extra sink outside the bathroom. Pool is fantastic! You can get a day pass just to use it! It was a blast and the kids were in it for hours!

Good value hotel with fun water slides. Beds are very comfy and fresh linens are clean. Carpets and wallpaper slightly showing their ages. Excellent customer service at the from desk, Angela was super helpful. Above average room service food.

A lot of restaurant options all around, and there's also a mall down the street with a food court (there's a bubble tea place inside). Room was clean and comfortable. It's also a short drive from some dog parks, and the University district which was a hive of activity when we stopped up there for dinner.
Definitely recommended.

We had a wonderful stay! The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our visit. The safe in our room didn’t work at first, but they came quickly to fix it, which we really appreciated. Breakfast was fresh with a good variety to start the day, though I do suggest moving the waffle station away from the beverages, as the long line-up in the mornings caused a lot of confusion for guests trying to grab coffee or juice. Also, the blackout curtains don’t actually close all the way, so it’s super bright in the mornings. Overall, great location and excellent service overall. Would definitely stay again!

We regularly stay at this best western us location any time we are in Calgary, and the staff and rooms here never miss the mark. We arrived here early, and Tommy at the front desk exceeded our expectations, while being busy with calls and other duties. She is a very knowledgeable and understanding person. The rooms are clean, neat, and comfy as usual, and this was a very pleasant experience as per usual.

We had a very pleasant stay. We stayed here for one night after a Stamps game. It's a great location, as you can walk right over to the stadium in under 10 minutes. Our room was really clean. Showers were good, beds were good, air conditioning worked really well. The continental breakfast is really well laid out and has a nice dining area to sit in. There were always 2 staff tending to the buffet so if anything was out it was replaced very quickly. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again in the future.

Stayed here with family for a night. The front desk was friendly. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Had a good sleep. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. Parking is free. Enjoyed the spa and fitness center. Highly recommend.

I have stayed at the Carriage Hotel four times in the past couple of months and every visit has been great. The breakfast buffet is always enjoyable, but what really stands out are the pool parties. They are so much fun and really make the stay memorable. I hope they continue hosting them because they add something special to the experience. I will definitely be coming back again.

Our recent stay at Carriage House was as comfortable as a hotel stay can be: the rooms are clean and well-maintained, with great attention to detail clearly paid to both the decorations and available creature comforts. The food is delicious, reasonably priced and generous in portion size. The service is prompt and polite. Included is a free buffet-style continental breakfast. While I'm no expert traveler (and what little traveling I do is usually on a shoestring budget!), this is certainly the nicest hotel I've yet stayed in, and I'll be staying here again next time I need a room for the night in Calgary!

This hotel has superb management! You get high value with a reasonable price. I stayed here 9 days/8 nights. I was highly impressed with how well the staff worked together to give guests a wonderful experience. From outstanding complimentary breakfasts, to pool & hot tub extended hours, the steam room & gym, food/drink available at the restaurant, pub, or poolside, walk to night life or other food options... Courteous and always helpful staff. My room was comfortable, had a refrigerator, great AC, free wifi, & housekeeping was excellent! They even had security and allowed a late check in at 2am (had a delayed flight). I had a marvelous time visiting Calgary & the National Parks, I would absolutely stay here again! Oh, and thank you for the first aid too! :)

We had a group booking for our Wedding downtown, and they made it so easy to book, and were very accommodating to our needs. We stayed in a suite and it was lovely!! The layout was perfect for the girls getting ready, and hanging out with friends the night before! The outdoor pool was perfect, the location was great and the beds were unreal comfortable. Will definitely stay again!

I have grown up visiting the Carriage House Inn for various events, from conferences, family dinners and weddings. I will always recommend or advocate for having events at the Carriage House.
The events crew were easy to work with and made our event very special.
The rooms are nice, clean and modern.
The food in all areas is amazing!!
The outdoor pool... wow, it's so very relaxing! You don't feel like you are in the middle of the city. It's perfect for staycations as well as enjoying it while visiting.
Overall, it's a classy place and we will keep going there.
