I preformed my road test here and I'd like to say that I am well satisfied with my experience. Front desk staff were nice and kind. Examiner (#14548) was professional, clear and fair. I had no difficulty with him and it was a pleasant experience. Thank you.

My kid recently took a driver’s test at Crowfoot Plates (exam was on Sunday). We had some mixed experiences at this location over the years, but this time everything went smooth. Examiner was professional, strict, tested him on many different things. Staff back at the office were also quick and efficient.

If I could give negative stars, I would. The front desk staff are kind and helpful, but when it comes to the Class 5 road test, the experience is completely different.

I took my test last week with examiner 14571, and it was one of the most unprofessional and unpleasant experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment the examiner came out, his attitude was rude, unfriendly, and condescending. He spoke very quietly and unclearly, making instructions confusing. His tone and constant dissatisfied expression made an already stressful situation even worse.

Instead of focusing on assessing safe driving, the examiner’s approach felt overly critical and discouraging. Even cautious driving was questioned in a way that added unnecessary pressure and stress. During feedback, the comments came across as blunt and dismissive rather than constructive.

If you are hoping for a professional and supportive road test experience, I strongly recommend booking at a different registry.

The worst place for your road test. I am puttung 2 start only because the people serving you in front of the descks are polite and professional ones. Regarding the roat test - select other location. With 17 years of driving experience in multiple countries across the world I failed my road test here 4 times. If you already booked your road test and oldish whitehair man is your examiner - just gave up immediately rather than wasting your nerves and time.... Each time they will interpret the rules as they want it. Driving 34 in 40 area - too slow, creating obstacles for the traffic even though there is noone on the street, only cars parked and you have to be cautious. Driving 44 in 40 area - too fast, even though province allows you to drive within 10 on top. And in such a case they will write it as 48 in your document. Going with the advisory speed - too slow.. Exceeding the speed a bit more than 10km/h - too fast. Decreasing speed on intersections - obstacles for others... I just booked my road test in completely different location which I haven't seen before and passed my exam from the first time with 40 points.... Everything is done to gram as much money as they can....

came here with my parents to change the address, and for myself to get the class 5 drivers license. the staff that helped me and my dad was extremely rude.

I arrived at the registry office right at opening, hoping for a fast and polite interaction, however we were met with hostility from a staff member whose behavior felt completely unwarranted. he sighed loudly every time we took few seconds to process what he said because it was hard to understand as he was speaking not clearly and loud. he also spoke without showing any patience or courtesy, and acted as if our early arrival was an inconvenience to him.

Instead of a welcoming start to what should have been a routine visit, my dad and i was treated like we were intruding. the overall tone was dismissive and impatient, and it left us feeling disrespected and undervalued. plus, his attitude was very off.

my mom was helped next, and the one that helped my mom was so much better, as they asked her if she wanted to take a new picture for the new license. the previous staff did not even ask my dad and i about that. i am so pissed.

It feels nice and quiet in the morning when they open.

Daljeet, the examiner, was very professional. He provided plenty of opportunities for questions and gave clear instructions throughout the entire ride, all while maintaining friendly conversations before and after. My interactions with him were very pleasant. I would love to see more examiners who treat people this way.

Not very helpful made a joint purchase with my wife on a travel trailer She had signed the bill of sale, but did not print her name, and the lady would not allow me to add that without initials from all parties seemed kind of outrageous to me. Five minutes away I went to AMA. I am a member. They were very helpful and they have the ability to electronically transfer documents for additional information and signatures, which was very helpful.

I want to express my gratitude to Anna. She's the right person. She explained everything very quickly and competently. We had some confusion regarding our health insurance. She resolved our issue very professionally and respectfully.

Mr. Dalgeet was an amazing examiner. He was very kind from the start, which made me feel comfortable and confident. He kept a friendly conversation going, which really helped put me at ease. His instructions were clear and easy to follow, and overall, I had a great experience with him!!!

I recently completed my Class 6 road test at Shawnessy Licence & Registry Ltd., and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From start to finish, everything was handled with professionalism and clarity.
I want to give special recognition to Addison, the examiner, who is by far the best examiner I’ve ever encountered. Before the test began, he encouraged me to ask any and all questions I had. I took the opportunity to clarify everything I was unsure about, and he patiently and thoroughly answered every question.
The road test itself was logical, well-structured, and easy to follow. Addison’s instructions during the exam were clear, calm, and perfectly understandable through the headset. I never felt confused or uncertain during any part of the test.
Thanks to his clear communication and professional approach, I felt confident and focused throughout — and I’m happy to say I passed and received my Class 6 licence right after the exam.
I highly recommend Shawnessy Registry and especially Addison if you’re looking for a fair, respectful, and supportive testing experience!

I did my driving exam and I drove good and my parking was good. HOWEVER, my examiner said I failed because I drove too slow while turning… and keep in mind I drive in a Corolla Toyota and it’s a old car, so it can’t accelerate fast like new cars. Also I did had a driving instructor and he explained that I NEEDED to drive SLOWLY when turning (left or right), in order for me to not make a large turn. And I passed with a 85%. however, the examiner wanted me to drive fast… like, do you want me to crash into a curb or a car? And the examiner YELLED at me just for turning slow… this is completely unacceptable and unprofessional of him. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Even my father failed 2 times at that place, even thought he was a driver for 10-20 YEARS.

Today I was refused service. I came at 4:30 and said that I needed to take an air brake test. I was warned that there were 30 minutes left until closing time and that was fine with me and the girl behind the counter. But some guy from the "road test" heard me and said that there was not enough time for the test. After a short conversation between the girl and this guy, she apologized and said that there was nothing she could do. Despite this, yesterday I came at the same time and successfully answered 24 questions, failing the test. Apparently this guy did not hear me yesterday because I did it in 13 minutes without any problems. I work until 4 and this is the closest registry to my house and it is great that one day you are served quickly and without problems, and another day you are told that they do not have enough time.

I would have gave it 0 stars. I went in today to get an In Transit Permit which requires no registration, as its a semi-trailer and the Carrier (Trucking company) has the insurance. I've done this numerous times at this location and have never had a problem.
The girl was oblivious to what this In Transit Permit consisted of.
I explained that I don't need insurance. She said she needed to speak with the manager. She came out and said she needed to call the government for clarification as per the managers advise.
I asked to speak with him. The 12 year old "Manager" came out and was immediately defensive when I told him that i didn't require insurance. I asked for his name and he refused to provide it. He then proceeded to tell me I could go somewhere else to do business.
Both of these employees were so inexperienced, disrespectful and clueless regarding their duties and responsibilities.

Garrett at the Registry Depot is absolutely fantastic! He’s knowledgeable, friendly, and goes above and beyond to make the process smooth and stress-free. You can tell he genuinely cares about helping people. If you want top-notch service, ask for Garrett—you won’t be disappointed!

After waiting 15 minutes, the big guy working here treated me terribly. I only wanted to update the system and make a small change, but he was extremely rude. I do not recommend this place to anyone

My journey to obtain a license over the past three months was full of frustration and uncertainty, but Joshua's professionalism, patience, and genuine willingness to help made all the difference.

In a world where bureaucracy often feels cold and impersonal, encountering someone like Joshua—who goes above and beyond to guide and support—is a rare blessing. Without his help, I truly don't think I would have been able to obtain the license successfully. I consider myself very fortunate that my application was handled by him.

I have to say I’m very disappointed with how the City of Vaughan is handling both the general cleanliness of our community and the ongoing issues around the speeding cameras. The town does not feel as well-maintained as it should, with litter and upkeep concerns that seem to be overlooked. On top of that, the speeding camera saga has turned into more of a revenue generator than a real safety measure. Residents deserve a city that prioritizes true community safety and a clean, welcoming environment, not half-measures and frustrating policies.

Speed enforcement cameras are totally ridiculous! Basically they will force you to pay if you go 4-5 kmph over the speed limit which they will set to 40kmph which is an absolute joke. So pay them regularly for these fines on top of the yearly taxes you pay the city. An absolute cash grab and I am glad people keep vandalizing these cameras. Good work Vaughan on wasting taxpayers dollars!!

Most of the officers who issue penalties seem more focused on hunting drivers for tickets rather than enforcing the law fairly. This approach only puts financial pressure on people and creates a sense of distrust. The appeal system should also be more transparent and fair.

I wish I could give 0 stars to this city hall and their useless employees who can’t help the citizens. I parked my truck on my driveway, and the two wheels were just slightly touching the street. I got a fine for that, even though I went to a hearing with evidence (a photo of my neighbor parking the exact same way—with their permission to take the photo). The judge saw my evidence and said, “I don’t know why you got fined for this; you’re parked just like everyone else.”

Yet today, I got another parking ticket for the same reason. I went to city hall hoping to get a parking permit, but they told me they don’t sell any. Instead, they told me to either get a smaller car or build a bigger driveway. They offered no real solution. We pay so much in taxes in Vaughan… for what? To pay these useless employees?

The manager is incompetent in understanding or resolving obvious shipping label issues and charges customers for tax on packages that were never sent by the sender or intended for recipient and refuse to refund or resolve anything and should not be working in customer service or with the public at all. Thanks for ripping me off!!! What an absolutely miserable "manager", disgusting behavior

Absolutely horrendous experience here. This is the second important package the carrier has lost and the service rep at the post office was rude, demeaning, and refused to answer any of my questions. I asked for the customer service number to create a ticket for our lost package and she rudely told me she had already given it to my husband. I asked if she could have the respect and decency to give it to me also, and she accused me of being disrespectful and indecent with her, rolled her eyes, and walked away without helping me. I asked her coworker if I had been indecent or disrespectful and the coworker just gave me a sad apologetic look and the customer service number I had asked for. If you see a short woman with straight reddish brown hair, ask to be helped by anyone else because she's miserable and wants everyone else to be miserable too. How she's employed still is beyond me.

Absolutely terrible. Thanks to this place being no help and somehow “misplacing” my grad photos, then changing their minds and saying they apparently gave it to someone else, I will now never receive them. They also don’t answer the damn phone and most of the staff is just outright nasty and condescending.

The people here are great. Office staff are kind and the carriers are helpful when I need to know something.

Terrible customer service and rude lady working the counter who states been there 15 years and with all that time and experience would not look up a Canada post number commercial department number, as it would just be wrong to help a customer.

Told to go find it ourself

This is what happens when you have people entrenched in jobs instead of firing the bad eggs and getting better people, time in a role shouldn’t take over what’s best for your clients

I had a wonderful experience at Savanna Registry. The service was quick, professional, and very well organized. There are more than 10 service windows, and all of them were working smoothly, which made the process fast and easy. Highly recommend this location for anyone looking for efficient and friendly service!

At any given point of time, their working capacity is max 50%. 15 stalls, but only 5-7 working at the same time regardless of the rush day/time. Employees are good and that’s the only thing to give 1 star, other than that it’s just a big Zero.

incompetent service, the teller doesn't. understand what i am saying for my 85yr old senior citizen, that there's no billings under her name because she just came less than a week, and she still ask for billings for address and can't use my dozens of bills I have for proof of address. not very helpful just to get a health card

I give this 4 stars not to the registery staff but to the instructor named chris , he is very calm and nice person. If you have good driving skills then nobody can fail you except you make big mistakes which can directly disqualify you from the test.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this registry. The service was terrible from start to finish. The staff were rude, dismissive, and condescending when I asked basic questions. What made the situation worse was that they insisted on documentation that is not legally required for vehicle registration. When I pointed this out, I was met with attitude rather than assistance.

I expect a registry to be knowledgeable and respectful, especially when dealing with something as important as vehicle registration. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. I will not be returning and strongly advise others to consider different locations if they want a smoother, more professional experience.

I would give this location a zero star review if it were possible to do so.

Absolute garbage!! I needed a new copy of a name change document so I called in, was given information and did as directed. I uploaded my letter, payment etc. and was told it would take 6-8 weeks. That was July of 2024.
February 2025, I contacted them and am told it's in progress and should be issued, and sent to me within a week. It wasn't.
July of 2025, I again contacted then and I'm told, "oh, it's in progress. It took a while for them to find your original information...they'll send it off to you within a week."
I finally received the document (september 2025) and the former name is wrong. I cannot understand why, when the records state One name and my letter stated one name that they decide to issue the document in a completely different name. So now, because of course, there's no easy rectifying of this situation, I now have to upload another letter explaining the error, a scanned copy of this incorrect name change cert AND proof of my original name. I am so very disappointed by this service. Now I'm left to wait again.

HIRE MORE PEOPLE!!!!No document should take almost 2 months for just a review that’s ridiculous. I’ve been waiting for a birth certificate after delayed registration and they haven’t even updated the system yet. I desperately need my daughter’s birth certificate as I have a sick family member abroad and they say it’s not an urgent reason so it can’t be rushed. I keep calling and getting the same answers. A birth certificate is needed for travel it should never take this long. I will escalate things further if need be.

i sent in an application for delayed registration of birth because i need my sons birth certificate. They take 2 months and then send it back saying i didn’t do the application right and each time i fix the mistakes they pointed out and mail the application out again, they send it back with new information that they didn’t mention on the previous time they mailed it back. they never once mentioned i had to send in a photocopy of my birth certificate and now after sending it for the 5th time, they mail it back and say to attach that when they could’ve mentioned that the first 5 times i mailed it to them. it’s been over a year and i’ve had to continue doing this just so i can get my sons birth certificate because they don’t know how to do their job and tell someone everything they need to do at one time so i don’t need to waste my time and continue doing it over and over again. pathetic

Got married on January 23 and was told the certificate would arrive in 6–7 weeks. Called after a month and was told it’s actually 10 weeks. It’s now been 3 months and still nothing.

Other provinces like Manitoba issue certificates in just a week. This is unacceptable,hire more staff and speed up the process. People shouldn’t have to chase basic documents for months .Terrible experience.

My application for name change was delivered March 1st and after almost 16 weeks, they have done nothing. They have’t even reviewed the application to confirm if it is complete. When you call, you hear the same nonsense. There is no supervisor/manager to escalate the matter.

I called FRO five times today, and was hung up on before I could even say hello for each of the first four calls. I sat on hold for 40+ minutes each time. Finally on my fifth call someone answered. After 1 hour and 23 minutes on hold. Refused to provide any answers for my questions. Refused to provide her name to me when I asked for it. Refused to escalate to a supervisor when I requested it. Just sat there in silence not answering me.

Must be a great job to have. Paid probably pretty nicely for being a government employee. Weekends off. Get the freedom to decide which calls to answer, or if you want to have an extended lunch and not take any more calls for the day. Then refuse to do your job when you do decide to answer the phone.

This is a government agency that needs top to bottom reform. Who do we contact about this?

The last agent seemed soo dense, i explained everything, and she asked the most irrelevant question. So obvious she wasn't listening and couldn't care less.
The previous agent was trying to be helpful, but i was hung up on.
This Ministry is so far behind the times. Who uses snail mail anymore?? Why can't correspondence be through email??
It's almost 2026 people!

This is the most inadequate delinquent government office ever.My son made all his child support payments based on the court order he received before he was able to setup with fro. Always communicating with his case worker sent the proof of payment then was told it was not received mailed the documents with registered mail . After many calls a response was received only to be told they have to verify with his kids mother she received the funds . And to make this worse this was reported to my son credit bureau and is showing as debt owed . Make this make sense ???? Now we have a mortgage renewal and this is on his credit bureau how can my son get help when nobody answers their damn phone at this office. This office seriously needs to be investigated these employees are screwing up peoples lives by their errors and it needs to be stopped.

I have been dealing with the Family Responsibility Office (FRO) for over 10 years, particularly with the 'Interjurisdictional Support Order'. Despite providing all necessary paperwork from the beginning, receiving a couple of payments, and having payments enforced a few times, I am facing significant issues.

After years of non-payment and continuous back-and-forth with FRO, the support owed to me has exceeded $25,000. Now, they are requesting court order documents from November 2015 to proceed with a new enforcement?!?!?! I would not have known about this requirement if I hadn't called for an update. To make matters worse, they want to charge $1 per page for hard copies or $3.50 for each page that requires certification by court staff.

This situation is incredibly frustrating, especially as a single mother of three. It is disheartening to see that the government services we rely on are not effectively supporting families in need. Despite applying for my ex's driver's license suspension, which was supposedly enforced, he was still able to cross the border and shop freely.

I rarely write reviews, but this experience has left me no choice. The government needs to address these inefficiencies to better support families like mine.

Atrocious organization through and through. An exposee should be done about the lack of service and inability to handle any number of calls. >122 minutes in queue now... hearing an automated message repeat to stay on the line to maintain my position in queue, and how its not normally this busy. Still no answer! Am seeking the ombudsman address now. There is no way this is acceptable for a call center. 2hrs 3min 34sec later the voice says they are experiencing technical difficulties and cut the line.
