I had Richard as my instructor and he was amazing! He was super calm, made me feel comfortable, and explained everything clearly. He took time before the test to go over what to expect and answered my questions, which helped me relax a lot. Thanks to him, I passed on my first try and the whole experience felt way less stressful than I imagined!

I had one of the most disappointing and frustrating experiences of my life during a road test at Registry Direct with an examiner named Abdull (from the Plates Registry). I went in expecting a professional, fair, and unbiased evaluation of my driving ability. Instead, what I experienced was discrimination, defensiveness, and behavior that no examiner should ever display toward someone paying for a government service.

From the beginning, I could tell Abdull was not focused on my actual driving. Instead of concentrating on safety and performance, he made unnecessary comments about how I “talk too much” and treated me like I didn’t belong here—even though I am a Canadian citizen. At no point should my race, background, or how much I speak have anything to do with whether I can safely operate a vehicle. A road test is supposed to be about driving skills only, yet I felt judged on everything but that.

The situation got worse when I called him out on his behavior. Instead of listening professionally or correcting himself, Abdull became defensive and dismissive. His reaction made me feel even more uncomfortable and confirmed that he wasn’t there to conduct a fair test. It got so bad that I actually asked him to leave my car—something I never imagined would happen during a road exam. That’s how disrespected and unsafe I felt with him sitting in the passenger seat.

What concerned me most, however, was that Abdull asked me to unplug my dash camera before the test even started. This is a huge red flag. A dash camera protects both the driver and the examiner, ensuring there is a record of what happens inside the vehicle. Being told to turn it off removes all accountability and leaves people like me vulnerable to biased or unfair treatment with no proof. If an examiner is doing their job properly, there should be no reason to fear being recorded. Asking for the dash cam to be turned off makes it look like the examiner doesn’t want transparency, which should worry anyone taking a test here.

This experience has left me with zero trust in Registry Direct’s testing process. Road tests should be fair, unbiased, and respectful for everyone, regardless of race, background, or personal traits. Instead, I walked away feeling discriminated against, silenced, and failed without proper justification. People should not have to deal with this kind of treatment, especially when they are paying for a service that could affect their ability to drive, work, and live their daily lives.

Maybe if Registry Direct actually held their examiners accountable—by firing people like Abdull, only employing professional examiners who work directly for their office, and cutting out shady “kickback” arrangements—drivers would finally get the fair tests they deserve. Until that happens, I strongly urge others to think twice before booking a road test here. My advice: take your business somewhere else where you can be sure you’ll be treated fairly, respectfully, and transparentl

He explained everything clearly before we started and made me feel comfortable during the test. I really appreciated his patience and the fair way he assessed my driving. I had a very negative experience during my Class 5 road test. The examiner, an Indian woman, screamed at me during the exam, which was extremely unprofessional and made it difficult to focus. I also felt I was treated unfairly and with racial bias as an African person. Her behavior came across as rude, disrespectful, and discriminatory. Everyone deserves to be treated with fairness, patience, and professionalism during such an important test. I strongly urge the licensing authority to review this examiner’s conduct so future candidates do not go through the same experience.”

He made me feel very at ease in the new car a Subaru which I rented at the registry and he was very understanding as it was a new car for me. Review for Seton Registry Road Test (11:30 AM today):

My husband took his road test this morning and had a very negative experience with the examiner. Instead of providing clear and calm directions, the examiner was aggressive throughout the test — yelling to “move” at a stop sign without stopping, insisting on going through a yield without slowing down, and even forcing steering directions along the way. He also instructed my husband to park at the beginning of an intersection with very limited space, which was unsafe.

At one point, he even told my husband to “go faster” in a parking lot when he was already driving under the speed limit. This type of behavior is not only unprofessional but also makes it impossible for the candidate to focus on safe driving practices.

We left feeling that the exam was less about evaluating driving ability and more about intimidation and unnecessary failure. If the purpose of the test is to fairly evaluate driving skills, the examiner’s approach completely undermined that.

We truly hope the registry reviews this behavior. Candidates pay good money for these tests, and they deserve a fair, respectful, and professional assessment — not hostility and confusion.

One star is being generous at this point. I don’t know why, but whenever it comes to renewing my health card or Alberta ID, I’ve had to come in at least three times just to have it delivered. The customer service staff are so rude and unhelpful. Honestly, what’s the point of having customer service if all they do is tell you to come back again, and yet the ID still never arrives by mail after multiple renewal attempts?

I work two jobs—one full-time that ends at 5:30 (and the registry closes at 6:00), plus Saturdays—so it’s a huge hassle for me to keep coming back. Every time, I either have to leave work early, which cuts into my salary, or take time off completely, only to keep requesting the same thing that never gets resolved. I hope you do something about it lol

Had my child take a road test here. I watched her location through Life 360. She was failed for “going too slow.” Not once did she go under the speed limit, maintained a good speed for each posted speed limit. I watched every speed she went of every second she drove.

Main complaint from the instructor, David - “she merged too slow going on Stoney.” Checked her driving history… she merged at 94/mph (speed limit 100.) Get your facts straight.

Might I add that David was condescending the whole time. Was nowhere near friendly and created an environment that was incredibly stressful for my child.

Absolutely ridiculous. Go anywhere else.

This is the best registry I have ever been to! Multiple visits now and 3 things are always true: they are efficient and speedy with great systems, the staff are always pleasant, and the team here works to find SOLUTIONS for your visit. It’s worth the drive even if you don’t live close.

I had a wonderful experience with my road test. I’m deeply grateful to the warm and supportive team at Seton Registry. Although I was quite nervous, my examiner created such a calm and reassuring atmosphere that the whole process felt smooth and stress-free.

Beautiful environment, comfortable seats, free coffee ;-) but waiting time is still too long. Just 5 people in line in front of us, after 90' waiting, we gave up.

Sad. I used to love ama. Went to Westbrook mall location. No interaction with a human heading in. No instructions. Wanted a membership. Only computers with a start on the screen. Filled out the form and was informed to wait in lounge. Went in 15 feet and sat in chairs. Waited 10-15 min only to find out from listening to people that were asked if they checked in that they had to go to the back. I realized I’m not on the “lounge”. Went to the back to find what I would describe as an overfilled heath appointment. Way too many people for the size of workers. I would never pay 150 a year to wait if not longer than my registry in my neighbourhood. So sad to see this once amazing service company turn to a no service waste of time. I guess I’ll head to my registry in my neighbourhood. I know companies loose sight of this l, service is your business, have someone not a computer greet you at the door. Won’t be surprised when this company ends up like sears.

The new AMA Westbrook location is a huge step up from the previous spot. What a fantastic upgrade! The space looks modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed. They’ve clearly streamlined the service delivery too.

I especially love the monitors that show your information and what unit you’re waiting for. It makes the whole process super easy to follow. The check-in system was smooth, and everything felt very efficient.

The services are always great—never any issue there. Staff are friendly, helpful, and things run like clockwork.

The only thing I’d suggest improving is the wayfinding after check-in. It’s not immediately clear there’s a second seating area around the corner, and I noticed a few people (myself included!) looking a bit confused about where to go. Some simple signage would go a long way.

Overall, it looks great and feels like a big improvement. Well done, AMA!

New location in westbrook is fancy! Apart from that, I always got good service. From lockout to towing, 5 star service each time

This is a location I go to to deal with passport pictures, any kind of travel, insurance, and for extra roadside coverage. The staff there are very helpful and accommodating. I rarely have to wait much longer than a few minutes, as they seem highly trained, and efficient at working with the clientele. at my last visit, I had passport pictures done and dealt with Alexandria. She was so friendly and enjoyable, to converse with!

I recently had the opportunity to engage with the Bangladesh High Commission and Consulate in Canada, and I must say that my experience was nothing short of excellent. From the moment I reached out for assistance, I was impressed by the promptness, politeness, and genuine helpfulness of the entire team.

What truly stood out was the level of professionalism and sincerity demonstrated by the staff — including the high-ranking officials. I wish I could give zero stars. I booked an NID appointment months in advance for August 12, 2025, took unpaid leave, spent over $250 on travel from Montreal to Ottawa, and left home at 5 AM — only to be told the server had been down for two days and they couldn’t process my application. This outage was known in advance, yet no one bothered to call, email, or text me, even though my contact details were provided. The staff were dismissive, avoided accountability, and showed no regard for the fact that citizens were making long journeys, losing wages, and wasting entire days. For years, Bangladeshi citizens abroad have been frustrated by the inefficiency, lack of communication, and poor planning in such services — the reputation for anything related to Bangladesh government services is already extremely low, and this experience reinforces that urgent improvements must be made.

The High Commission’s website claims you can “contact the High Commissioner” by filling out a message form — but after carefully writing my complaint, the page fails to load when you hit send. Conveniently, this makes the service unavailable. I’ve since emailed both the address on their website and the one listed on the Government of Canada’s “Heads of Missions” page, but I’m still waiting for a response.

As someone born and raised in Bangladesh, it is humiliating that I have been a proud voter in Canada for 8 years while my own country continues to deny me my NID and my right to vote. The High Commission needs urgent reform to provide even basic professionalism, accountability, and respect for its citizens.

Took their service on 18 June 23 at their visit to Saskatoon for renewing my BD MRP passport. They were so cordial & swift in providing service. My task was done in a minute! Really overwhelming!

I have a record of having to go to any registry numerous times for each task. I have never been to this location and want to make sure I did it correctly from the get to so this time I contacted this office and Shawna answered. She was extremely helpful with my questions and went over and beyond to assist me with my questions. I went in later that day and guess who was my teller, yup it was Shawna, and again she went over and beyond when I completed the document incorrectly.
I will always go to this office and I already recommended people to it. Keep up the excellent work you guys 😊

Don’t bother going there with an enduring power of attorney for your 92-year-old mother who can hardly walk to get a handicap parking pass. They don’t understand what legal documents are, specifically enduring power of attorney, they essentially said that since the power of attorney document did not mention parking pass it was not acceptable and that I would have to show up at the licence bureau with my elderly mom in person; who has trouble walking. One hour later I went to a different licence bureau, A-Plus Registry Services Ltd near Northland Shopping Center and within 15 minutes with the same documents and enduring power of attorney I was given a handicap parking permit.

I just did my road test with Kevin. He was such an awesome guy and made me feel good about my driving. He also went over my mistakes after the road test so I can learn from them. The world needs more people like Kevin because Kevin is the GOAT!

This is the worst registry in the city of Calgary, at the beginning when I arrived, I went here because it was not far from home after the first two visits, I said that I would avoid this place. Employees are rude and behave terribly with other people, they talk to you very badly and sarcastically want to humiliate you with a smile on their face. It was honestly terrible if it was one person and they were all not pleasant and friendly. Today I went to close the license for license plates and thought that maybe something has changed in two years then I saw that nothing, very bad service. I would like the manager or the head office to pay attention to them. I don't know why they are still not brought to justice for such violations of the rules of tolerance, because we are in Canada. This woman ruined my mood for the whole day, because in the morning I felt great until I came to this registry.

This is the worst place to take a road test the instructor says that parallel parking is parking only on a level road if the road is up or down it is not parallel parking. He also said that when parallel parking you do not need to give any signals and when parking up and down you need to turn on the turn signal to the right. Also at the end of the exam after he said see you again I asked him to explain why from what he explained it turned out that I had only two mistakes when I said that then I did not get the number of points so as not to pass the exam he told me to get out of the car and sent me a document where there were mistakes that were not there. I advise everyone who is going to take the test there to think twenty more times and change their mind. In my opinion, such a person cannot be an instructor. I advise you to review the professional suitability of this examiner

I’ve been visiting McKnight Registry for the past one year and every experience has been outstanding. All the staff here are incredibly professional, friendly and always ready to help with a smile. One of the standout features of this registry is their use of advanced technology, especially in eye testing — their machines are far superior compared to other registries.

Even though it’s farther from my home (with Savanna Registry being closer), I always choose McKnight because there’s never a long queue, and the service is consistently smooth and efficient. The staff’s cooperative attitude and the overall professional environment make it well worth the extra drive. Highly recommended!

Extremely Disappointed – Unprofessional and Disrespectful Experience

I had a deeply unpleasant experience at this registry. It’s clear that the focus here is more on making money than on providing a fair or respectful service. In particular, the instructor named Michael was extremely unprofessional and rude. He yelled at me during my driving test, behaving aggressively and in a completely unacceptable manner. His tone and conduct were not only inappropriate but also came across as discriminatory.

Looking through other reviews, I realize I’m not the only one who experienced this kind of treatment. Booking here was clearly a mistake, and I strongly advise others to look elsewhere.

I have a video recording of the test from my car camera, clearly showing how this individual acted and yelled. I’ll be uploading the audio portion to YouTube first and will share the link here for anyone who wants to hear it for themselves.

This kind of behavior should never be tolerated—especially from someone in a position of authority. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision.

My experience with examiner Mr. Nanaz was highly professional. Despite not passing me on my second attempt, he provided a clear, honest justification for the deductions, which directly helped me succeed on my third try. He maintains excellent clarity during tests, ensuring drivers are never confused. I regret being unable to thank him properly due to test protocols. His integrity is commendable.

My niece went to this office and there was a mistake in the system so they would not give her a road test but they took her money and refused to give her the test or return her money. This young lady was spoken to rudely and repeatedly talked down to, refused to let her speak with the supervisor. She went to another registry and they straightened everything out for her in ten minutes. I am pissed, I have been a member with AMA for 23 years and have always had exemplary service with the nicest manners and professionalism. I am disgusted with this treatment of my niece but this office. AMA you should be ashamed

Kudos to Darren who came to jumpstart a dead battery. The deep freeze we just got out of was brutal. I was glad for his sake I didn’t need to call in -20 or less weather. He was so friendly and did a great job. I have been a member since 2008 and it’s such a good service for a great price. I usually only need once or twice a year. I’ve even used it while traveling in the USA, covered! The peace of mind it’s totally worth it!

AMA SUNRIDGE HAS WORST SERVICE I’VE EVER EXPERIENCED. Let me start by saying that I am not one to complain, I am a highly anxious person and this situation has left me in such disarray I just couldn’t let it go. I have been driving with a learners license for just under 3 years. I booked a road test and payed the $165 fee online. I arrived 30 minutes early for my test, gave them my license and insurance and was seated. about 5 minutes later, a woman came up to me and told me I was “not eligible” to take my road test today because their system said that I have been driving for under a year. (???) I said that I have definitely been driving for over a year!! I asked the woman that if I could find proof that i’ve been driving for almost 3 years would I then be able to take my test? And she said no!!? I then asked if I could be refunded my $165 that I payed for the test and she also said no!!! I was not offered any other information or service to investigate the issue, I was simply told no. I went straight to another registry to have the issue solved (which required very little information to be given and was done within 10 minutes) and booked my test with Northeast Registries - Marlborough who I would highly recommend. I went back to speak to the manager and she was the most unpleasant, unreasonable, belittling person I have ever spoken to. I explained to her my issue and that I was hoping for a refund as this was a system error and not at all my fault. She SMILED and told me that because I checked a box online that said I was eligible, I was responsible to know if I was or not. Again, I have been driving for almost 3 years!! Why would I think that I wasn’t eligible? She refused to give me a refund. To have her smile through our conversation that has left me in such distress is simply horrendous behaviour, especially from management. I will not be returning to AMA, nor do I recommend AMA to anyone. If I could give negative stars, I would’ve.

Here’s a guy XT-3 named cameron and I have my premium membership and It comes with one convinient tow under that i dont have to get my car registered or insured just need the bill of sale under my name and I meet each and every condition and I dont know why this bastard is being racist and denying to his job i dont why these kind of pricks have these jobs and then he rants oh I am working with AMA from last 15 years so You should know what are the conditions if you are there from 15 years

Melissa was very helpful and patient helped me get a signature from my wife electronically. Even though it took longer than I had hoped, I highly recommend unlike other registries I have experienced they do what they can to help.

I will not be returning. Stood in line with others for at least 45 min. Not one of us knew you had to book an appointment in the app for better service. One staff looking at a dozen standing in line! Probably 20 to 30 min per customer. Then told to return as I needed a $150 medical, due to my birthday. I should have received a letter, which I did not! Tried to set up the app for a 2nd appt, but could not as it already exists under my husband's name. Don't waste your time going there. No benefit from being an AMA member anymore!!

It was about 1:45 p.m. on June 9, 2025, when I finally got my turn with a customer service representative—probably the most experienced (sorry, I do not know their name). I requested to be there to pick up some documents. They responded with questions such as, "Did you apply for that? Did you order that? What location? What date?" and so on, without even looking at my AMA membership card that I presented to them before making any request.

The bottom line is that the representative lacked the aptitude to assist and excelled at denying all requests efficiently. I'm not sure why AMA employs such representatives who fail to demonstrate the necessary skills and who cannot help at all.

I recently had an experience at this AMA that mirrored another review I read — someone mentioned their daughter failed due to “low speed,” and the exact same thing happened to me. If you’re reading reviews to decide where to take your driving test, do not go here. I strongly recommend booking at Willow Park instead.

I genuinely believe they fail people here just to push them into their affiliated driving school. It honestly feels like a commission-based system — fail the test, suggest their lessons, and profit.

I failed my first test here on a Friday with 165 points docked, which felt excessive. I rebooked for the following Monday at Willow Park and passed easily with only 60 points docked — no extra driving lessons in between, just a fairer experience.

I have no complaints about the professionalism of the front staff — they were courteous. My issue is strictly with the testing process, which felt unfair and possibly financially motivated.

Frustrating and Disheartening

I’m 23 years old. I work hard for every dollar I make, and I budget carefully to make sure I can meet all my responsibilities. That’s why I went into this insurance office on April 30, ready to be responsible and do things the right way. I sat down with an advisor who explained the plan and told me I had to pay one month in advance in order to activate my insurance. I paid for both May and June that day. She clearly told me I wouldn’t be charged in June and that my next payment would be in July. I agreed, signed the documents, and trusted what I was told.

In May, I went back to make a change from “pleasure” to “commute” use, and I was told there was no price change. Again, I was told June was already paid. The advisor even wrote down “PAID” next to the date JUNE 20 on the paper I signed and he gave me a copy of it. I was extremely clear and asked multiple times about no changes in price just to be sure. I was doing my part.

Then, on June 20, my account was charged again, for a month I was repeatedly told I had already paid for. I went back to the office, upset and confused, and sat down with the same advisor from May. He admitted it was “his mistake” to write that down, but then went as far as to doubt what the previous advisor told me, even though I had written proof from both of them.

He insisted that the mistake was his for writing down “PAID” on the paper, but not the system’s, even though we both looked at the computer screen on May, that showed June was marked as paid. It made me feel like he thought I was lying, like I was trying to take advantage of a mistake he made, when in reality I was just repeating what I was clearly told and what was written down in front of me. This unexpected charge completely messed up my monthly budget and the financial plan I had carefully set for myself. I wasn’t asking for anything unreasonable, I was simply asking them to honor their own word.

I never spoke with a manager, nobody cared about the situation, I left feeling completely misled, powerless, and taken advantage of. I did everything right. I asked the right questions, I confirmed what I was told, and I have signed documents that prove it. But none of that mattered.

As a young adult trying to build a stable life, this experience was disheartening. I expected to be treated with respect and fairness, not to be gaslit and dismissed. Mistakes happen, but accountability and integrity matter. And unfortunately, I experienced neither here.

I had my road test with Blaine, and it was an excellent experience. He was very professional, patient, and friendly, which immediately put me at ease. His calm and clear instructions helped me stay focused and confident throughout the test. I really appreciated how respectful and encouraging he was; it made the entire process much less stressful. If you happen to get Blaine as your examiner, you’ll be in great hands!

I had a wonderful experience with taking my class 5 road test at this registry. The staff were attentive and helpful, but I was especially intrigued by the extremely professional and humble behavior of my examiner, Allen. He explained what was required during the test to me very clearly and made me feel comfortable right from the beginning. He was clear in his instructions throughout the test with sound and transparent judgments. I had taken other road tests before as well, but Allen's exceptional behavior was unmatched. I passed my test on my first attempt with great confidence, thanks to Allen's calming behavior, and got my class 5 driver's license despite being relatively new in Canada. My first examiner was Abdul (?). Right from the start, his attitude came across as negative, as if he was irritated or having a bad day. This made the driving test feel even more intimidating, especially since I was already nervous. Considering how stressful road tests naturally are, I feel examiners should be mindful of this and help create a calmer, more supportive environment.

My second examiner was Allan. He was very professional throughout the entire driving test and made the experience much less stressful. After the exam, he provided constructive feedback, which I truly appreciated. Thanks to his approach, I passed my test, and I hope more examiners can model the same professionalism and support that he showed during my road test.

I recently visited this registry for my Class 5 driver’s license application. There was some confusion with my situation because I had not yet submitted my Chinese driver’s license to the government, but the online system still allowed me to book and pay for the road test. When I showed up for the test, I was worried I might lose my appointment and payment.

Thankfully, two very kind Asian lady staff members with glasses helped me. They patiently explained why I couldn’t take the test yet and even went the extra mile to ask their supervisor for approval to extend my road test appointment. With their effort and the supervisor’s support, my appointment was extended for 90 days so I could wait for the government’s approval of my Class 5 application.

Their patience, professionalism, and teamwork saved me from unnecessary loss. I am very grateful to both the staff and the supervisor, and I highly recommend this registry for their excellent service.

Absolute brilliant experience. Me and my husband came to get AB health cards and an abstract and the registry Clerk Rahul couldn't have been any helpful. Such a great informative guy and gave us all the necessary information we needed to renew the cards. The line was so long as we walked in but we were in the line for literally 5 minutes, super super fast clerks getting things done. First time I've been somewhere where not only the service was first class but the customer service and waiting times were spot on!

incompetent service, the teller doesn't. understand what i am saying for my 85yr old senior citizen, that there's no billings under her name because she just came less than a week, and she still ask for billings for address and can't use my dozens of bills I have for proof of address. not very helpful just to get a health card. these registry has 2 addresses on Google but both have bad reviews. sucks

Nice new clean modern building. taking strathmore into the 21st century with style and elegance. The farmers that used to sell their goods on this land now sell them elsewhere, parking lots are of abundance. Nice pond and walkway beside aswell this build blends well and doesn't district from the natural beauty that surrounds it. Would definitely go back to see it again.

The Town has no Visitor Information. When I phoned the town they say it is at Dairy Queen. Well nothing is there & nothing on Google. We went into friendly small business & heard that small businesses were trying to get together to do QR codes for tourists. That is great but like what we were doing just antiquing through southern Alberta we want the information on hand. This is the first time I have been into a town/city this size & have not seen any brochures or maps anywhere in their city. If there was maybe we would have stayed longer.

I am a Hillview Resident that is concerned about the speed on 262 oxbow Rd. and Hwy 817. They drive it like a NASCAR driver at about 100 kph or more for a 1/4 mile . There is school buses stopping for kid and people walking there dogs as well as joggers. I have complained several time to the town and and NO response back, so far nothing as been addressed until a human or animals get KILLED!!!

Getting a Business License is fast, staff are knowledgeable and extremely helpful. It's a pleasure doing business with them.

I went there on September 26 to get the vision test and knowledge test for the G1 license. Everyone is helpful. When I went to the kiosk to get my queue number, it said that I don't have an appointment. So I told the person next to the that I did have one and he said to just talk to the person in the reception desk. From the reception desk, I just showed my confirmed appointment and she printed my queue number. While waiting for my number to be called, someone is already going around asking what kind of service we are waiting for. When he found out that I am there for the G1 license, he got me the form to fill out. Once I got called, the person who assisted me is very pleasant and communicated clearly on what I need to do. In the test room as well, the person there is pleasant as well. Overall, the people who work there are professional and are very pleasant to deal with.

I had a good experience with this location I arrived at 8am on Monday, there was a line but once it opened we all got tickets and I was only waiting for less than 10 minutes. It was very quick and efficient. A lot of the staff are Canadian native English speakers which is nice to see

I went in with my mother who is having issues walking. The woman who helps at the counter made sure she was okay and comfortable. The ppl here are empathetic and genuine. So happy with my experience here.

The office is very organized and well-maintained. I visited twice on the same day for a walk-in, and the experience was smooth both times. The facility is spacious with nearly 25 counters, which made the process efficient. The receptionist was welcoming and clearly explained the mandatory documents required.

I would also like to commend staff member Victoria for her professionalism, patience, and helpfulness during my visit. She provided excellent service and made the process much easier.

Came here twice to get my health card. Even though my first time failed since I wasn’t bringing all the required documents, but the front desk lady gave me a very detailed explanation and gave me a list of documents I needed. The second time, I was hosted by a guy who was knowledgeable and humorous when I was taking my photograph. It was a nice experience. The wait time was also short, it’s likely that you won’t have a long wait time even you arrive close to 5pm

Got directed here after being turned away at a location near me. The staff were so helpful, the lines were quick and I had to only wait around 10 minutes eventhough it was the afternoon. The front girl was educated and had let me know all the papers and information needed. The girl who helped me with my application was wonderful as well. Everyone working here was lovely, I would recommend this location to fulfill your needs.

I was here last week twice. First I came Wednesday to try my luck as a walk in for change of adult name. The counter number 20 didn't even greet me as the others do. I waited for like 3 minutes before he started to talk to me as he was typing in his computer. He asked me that my husband need to signed the consent form and even ask the other colleague. I read the instructions and said that I don't need my husband consent form on Form 6 as I'm married already. So I line up again to see other counter. This lady told me that I don't need my husband signature in consent Form 6. It's only the page 10. Very disappointed with his (counter 20) service.
Then I came back again Friday as a walk in again. Hopefully will not be in counter 20. I got lucky to meet KRISTIN in counter 5 or 6 she is Filipina and very nice and explain to me thorough about what's gonna happen if I will changing my adults name. This is the service that everyone should have very knowledgeable to explain to everyone what's gonna happen in case. Not like the other working there, they only doing it for work but no sincerity with people.

I book an appointment for 12:15 for a birth certificate but also had to change it to canceling my mom’s health care and license. I was seen at 12:11, everything went smoothly. I applied for the birth certificate on their computer and I got it the next day without issues. Honestly this is first time experiencing good service at a service Ontario. Well organized and efficient and they knew what they were doing. I will book my appointment at this service Ontario going forward.

Went here to register a used car. Came in with no appointment. In and out within 1 hour. The clerk was bilingual, super friendly.

They should rectify the open hours of this business to accommodate the 9 to 5 average working class. Evening open hours would make this much more convenient.

Visited Service Ontario at City Hall today and had an excellent experience! I went to Counter 13, where May, the representative, was incredibly helpful. I asked about getting a photo card, and she took the time to ask about my plans for driving in the future and if I had a valid driver's license from the Philippines. Based on my answers, she suggested I take the driving test to get a Canadian driver's license, which would be more beneficial. Her advice was really valuable, especially since I'm new to Canada. Additionally, she processed my OHIP application, which was a big relief. It's worth noting that I had previously visited the Bank Street Service Ontario office, and they didn't know that PR applicants with an eligibility letter are eligible for OHIP, so it was great to get the correct information and service here. Big thumbs up to May at Counter 13 for being knowledgeable and helpful!

Book appointment in advance, enter phone number at front kiosk and tickets are issued. Very efficient process and staff are very helpful.
Toilets are “All Gender” and may not be for everyone. Found it confusing for some reason and I don’t know why but it felt uneasy and anxious. Maybe just the newness of it all.
A very good recommendation for a location to choose as it seems to be quite capable of serving a lot of clients efficiently.

This afternoon, my daughter and I went to the Service Ontario office on Laurier Street in Ottawa. I was extremely impressed with the efficiency of the location, but most especially with the assistance we received from an agent (Yar) working there. She was extremely helpful, obviously very competent, and patiently answered the questions we posed. She dealt with what we needed done very quickly, so that while our appointed time was delayed by a few minutes we left long before we expected.

On Monday 23 June 2025 In Ottawa City Hall Service #904, we had above the best & friendly service at #14 with Ashley & May/Meg. We returned for June Wells' Ontario Card. Reception already had June Wells as Priority because this system was down in Ontario till afternoon or later. We found June's latest passport and a former drivers licence for 2010. With a no-smile photo of June's otherwise elated face, $35 by c.card & Aeroplan points, she now awaits the Ontario Card in the mail for about 4-6 weeks. Joy indeed!

Such pleasure always at City Hall. We are 2 blocks away, happy to be there often. Also for art works, Ottawa Rock history (Elvis!), events and the occasional pianists who are excellent. Please thank Ashley & #14 for making our day very special - we had spent a weekend NOT finding the passport!

Workers in this town are useless when talking to you they refer to you as buddy or guy not sure when this would be an appropriate use when your clearly working and driving a town truck. The lady with the guy looked embarrassed as he was saying this she stayed quiet and kept doing what she was doing. I loved in this town for t most of my life and have moved away for a few years now and can honestly say this town absolute trash now.

Moved to arnprior in October of 2022 the building I moved into was a very bad building it’s address is 6 John Street I got ahold of the bylaw the fire marshal and building inspector all of which are a joke I guess they just don’t care to do there jobs properly if I knew that the town was poorly run and that the building I moved into was as bad as it is I would of not moved to arnprior

Took me over three years to get a decision from the housing tribunal, file for garnishment at the Court of Montreal, and finally get the debtor’s employer to pay part of the judgment. The court was supposed to transfer the money to me. Instead, they sent my money back to the person who damaged my property.

I went in person, emailed, and called multiple times to say I never got the cheque. They gave me three different dates it was “sent” and just kept ignoring the issue. Then finally they admitted they sent it to the debtor by mistake. But instead of fixing it, they told me they won’t reissue anything until they do a stop payment, and only if the debtor hasn’t cashed it. It’s been over a month. Of course he probably cashed it.

So basically, they messed up, gave my money to the wrong person, and now they’re telling me to wait indefinitely while they “see what happens.” No urgency, no responsibility, and no guarantee I’ll even get paid.

If it was the other way around, and I owed money to the court and said "just wait, maybe I’ll pay you later," I’d get charged interest and penalties right away. But since it’s the court that owes me, suddenly there are no rules.

They told me to just file a complaint, which of course went nowhere. This whole thing feels like abuse of power. The Ministry of Justice should seriously be called the Ministry of Injustice. They stole money that I spent years trying to recover and handed it back to the person who caused all the damage.

Be warned: If you try to get service in English over the phone, don’t waste your time — they will not help you.
Under the law, if you lived in Quebec before Bill 96 came into effect, you have the right to receive services in English. They should follow the law, especially since they are a courthouse. When I confirmed that I have the right to English services, they should have provided them. Instead, the man I spoke with told me I had to speak French. That is against the law. So the Montreal courthouse isn’t even respecting the very laws they are meant to uphold. Shameful.

The women who were involved in my case were engaging in fraudulent activities and ignoring my requests. One of the girls who I spoke to over the phone was repeatedly lying to me and couldn’t back up what she was telling me and in order to cover up her lies she sent me fake documents.

The building of the Montreal Courthouse is one of the most imposing buildings in the older part of the city. It is hard to ignore a building of its bulk, style and stature, especially in view of its location in a neighborhood that proudly calls itself "Old Montreal". This massive structure is visible from many parts of the city because it dwarfs everything around it. It's definitely not a building that tries to blend in. On the contrary, it craves all the attention that it can get.

Today I went to this DriveTest centre for my G1 test, and honestly, my experience was completely changed because of Laurane. She guided me through the process, gave me tickets, and made everything smooth and stress-free. Her professionalism, patience, and kind behaviour truly stood out. She clearly puts customers first, and I would say she’s the best of the best employee here.
To be honest, I was nervous about coming back because last year I had the worst experience at this same centre. From the reception to the counter, the staff were rude and dismissive. They made a huge fuss when I tried to add my previous driving experience from back home, which led to me not even being able to take my test. When I asked the receptionist for help, he was extremely unprofessional and rude. That experience stayed with me and delayed me a whole year before I felt ready to come back.

But today was different Laurane completely changed my impression of this centre. She was supportive, professional, and treated me with respect. There was also a kind lady at the counter (I couldn’t catch her name, but she was Chinese) who was polite and helpful as well.

My husband and I had the most amazing experience at this test centre and we want to give the full credit to the staff’s kindness. They were really patient, accommodating to the jitters of a first time test giver and unusually friendly as opposed to, in other crowded government institutions. We went for our G1 with a pre-booked appointment slot and we had our name called close to our time. Instructions were provided clearly and in a friendly manner. We completed our process within an hour. Note- we went on Friday eve. Early mornings are less crowded on weekdays!

I had my G test done on September 20, 2025. Greg was my examiner, he was polite and gave instructions clearly and way ahead. He and also the staff were professional.

Their website is an absolute nightmare to use. Always crashes, throws "errors with the system", or rate limits you for accessing the site repeatedly. I also feel like every time i go to their main page i end up turning on my VPN because the site is under "maintenance" when sometimes it is, or isn't. If your looking to find road test cancelations or book a new test through their online booking system, all I can say is, good luck!

Apart from that nonsense, my g2 test examiner was very nice. The queue to check in, wait for an examiner to come to your car or to take your knowledge test was never too long for me, but the place is always packed with people and I have seen long lines here. Overall, the staff are very nice here from my experience.

Honestly the worst experience here. The person that was in charge of taking tests on Wednesday August 20th, with glasses and a piercing, was super disrespectful, ugly attitude, rolling her eyes every second. Please hire better workers. Just because you’re not in a good mood, customers need support and help. Being disrespectful IS DISGUSTING! Do not go here go to do your test, go to the Scarborough location instead. They will treat you with respect 100x more. Thanks.

The staff here are very unprofessional. I went to desk 8 at 11:20am and the woman working there was extremely rude and dismissive. She clearly lacked proper customer service skills and seemed untrained to handle basic interactions. This level of service is unacceptable for a registry that people rely on for important matters.

Took my class 5 road test yesterday at 4pm and my examiner was very nice and supportive. He was a huge help in calming my nerves and passed me on the first try here. I’ve seen mixed reviews about the road test here but I only had good experiences. I believe the examiners name was Daljeet.

Had both my knowledge test and road test here. This registry is amazing with their checkin system.

Rene (hope I don’t spell your name wrong) is very professional, gave clear instructions. I enjoy the ride even had a bad luck meeting massive traffic and failed to change lanes before turning. You still can’t exceed speed limit when having road test while others are hitting their gas panel hard.
We changed the route into another community and get back to the original route after a while.

Don’t freak out when you failed to change to the lane you have to go. Shows your professional on controlling the car and your safety driving mind set. That’s a lot more importantly than how fast or how sharp you could push yourself into lanes.

Tips:
*This registry may be different from some of the other registries. Heard some other registry will told you when to change lane. Rene told me where to go, and I could decide when to change lanes.
* If you have concerns about the unreasonable speed limit sign at the registry area, please ask your examiner before you start driving.*

I recently took my road test here and had a very disappointing experience. I was failed for parking too far from the curb — when I politely asked if I could correct my positioning, my request was declined. I was also marked with a traffic violation for making a right turn on red, even though I came to a complete stop, checked carefully for pedestrians and vehicles, and turned only when it was safe. Turning right on red is legally permitted, so this decision was unfair.

On top of that, this registry charges $181 for the road test, while other registries only charge $165. It feels like they are more focused on making money than giving fair assessments. Failing candidates for questionable reasons and charging higher fees does not reflect well on their integrity.

I would strongly recommend looking into other registries that are more reasonable and fair.
