Overpriced and awful service. One of the matching lights I bought there 5 years ago stopped working. Took it for repair, they had it for months and I had to keep calling to ask about it. Finally, after more months passed, they said it could not be repaired. I asked about warranty, nothing. Discount for my troubles? Barely. Then I found the exact same model for one third the price in the internet!

Oh my! The prices are outrageous!

The models are beautiful but very expensive.

Pitiful, arrogant, discourteous, and shameful service. My mother went into this store to find the perfect light; she was the ONLY CUSTOMER inside. The two salespeople at their desks didn't even lift a finger to look at her. Not a single hello, not a single word. They completely ignored her. My mother had to speak to the salesperson herself, and she was so disgusted by the service that she left after 5 minutes.

This is not how you welcome, serve, or treat customers, gentlemen. Without customers, your company wouldn't exist. No customers = no sales. Without good service = low return rate.

You sell fairly expensive lights. When a customer comes into the store, the least you can do is help them find what they're looking for, or at least NOT IGNORE THEM.

Very disappointed and we will never come back there again since you don't care about your customers. I prefer to give my money to a company that deserves it and has customer satisfaction at heart.

We had a wedding there yesterday. It's really awful, none of the promises made to us were kept, and when we asked for the money back they didn't give it, their kitchen is full of bugs, everywhere is full of bugs, it's disgusting, even if you make a mistake and hire them there, don't let them cook, it's absolutely awful.🤮🤮

In terms of entertainment I'll give it a 10 on 10 five stars.the host was amazing very interactive great show they really had the party going. all around a good time I went here for my work Christmas party. What I didn't like was that it was very hot, the server that served the alcohol was over worked she seemed overwhelmed flustered, slow but I don't blame her for that there was a lot of people they needed more servers or perhaps let let the guest go to the bar I dont know the drinks weren't good either I got a cranberry mixed drink and it had the standard shot amount of alcohol I guess which was fine but in a tall glass of cranberry you couldn't even taste the alcohol I mean it was literally over kill I don't understand why someone would put that much juice in it at least ask, the food was terrible the chicken had a weird grey gravy I'm pretty sure that's what made me throw up.The salmon was tasteless ,the pasta was the best out of all the options the food was lukewarm if they could fix those few things I would definitely go back because the show was great.

Had my wedding there and was the worst experience ever.
Food was awful and although we paid extra for people to be able to drink soft drinks and juices they never served them. I also paid to get a sweet table and they only brought out the food I brought. They never gave me back my center pieces and my cake stands. I also lost my wedding shoes. When I called them to comp’ They told me they would calm me back they never did. I went to get my stuff and they never wanted to help me. If I could give them zero starts that’s what I would choose

I don't do reviews a lot. We had our wedding there and this place to supply food. But the food didn't turned out to be like the one we agreed on. NOT EVEN CLOSE. Their excuse was that the chif was sick that day and the servers cooked (not my problem) I called them and left a voicemail after the wedding but they never returned my calls so I decided to go and see them in person. I waited a long time for the manager. Finaly he came to me and surprisingly he told me that the owner is not allowing him to talk to me and he had to leave me. We didn't even had a talk or argument to end up like that.

Of course we had made full payment a week prior to the wedding so why would he even want to talk to me. In the voicemail I said my name and I asked to talk to the manager for a complain (I guess they are not used to get complaints)

The food problem is minor now. The poor quality management and the disrespect made me experience the worse customer services I got in my life.

That ruined this place's reputation to each of my 144 guests and two of us and of course it worth a share in public.

I don't even know where to begin. Worst food ever. Who ruins PASTA????!!!!! Especially for the price. You can find better halls for that price. Totally disappointed! Besides, who uses punch fountains now a days? It's known to be the filthiest thing to serve from.
The Place is questionable, even a chair broke on someone that night! It would get a 0 star if that existed.

We live out by chestermere high school, and we prefer to come to this location vs East Hills. There is plenty of parking and the store is more orginized. We have always had good service here.

When I visited this this walmart location just a week ago I was appalled by the entire FRESH Department as it was nothing more than an eyesore. The amount of damaged products thrown on the shelves in the bakery, nearly rotten produce in the cooler area and produce display boxes.More alarming let me mention expired meats that looked beyond rancid and definitely screaming unsafe to eat unless you have a willingness to be hospitalized. I saw what looked to be a higher up employee ( supervisors or management)in the store running around on their personal
Cell phone speaking Punjabi, to whom I can only assume was family or friends ignoring customers, as I did try approach one to question about the Fresh department and all the issues I had found since there was absolutely nobody present in the entire area of fresh! Nobody stocking the shelves or quality control in the department. I used to be a Walmart canada employee in Edmonton and to be blatantly honest this is unacceptable and management should be held accountable. Staff like myself would never be allowed to Run around on our personal cell phones speaking to friends or family during shift nor would we even be employed letting the heart of our store(FRESH) ever look like this. Since I was never given the time of day by the young man who was wearing glasses and of east Indian ethnicity roughly in his twenties I went ahead and filed complaint with alberta health services. It's obvious this store lacks the knowledge of canadian food safe policies they lacks FIFO policies and how to properly mark down and dispose of expired meats, since I saw many nearing their expiry and again the rancid meat (chicken) I came across was 4 days past expiry. This is unacceptable and dangerous. Clearly I care more about your customers than the store manager, department managers, supervisors and department workers. Thoroughly disgusted and don't know how your store is still open and serving the community members or strathmore and surrounding areas. I wish I was still employed by walmart because I would file a formal complaint to corporate office and the CEO.

I will not be recommending this store to any friends or family that visit the strathmore area. As I know many whom travel to and visit often.

Aisles are incredibly tight and cramped, especially the produce section. it is impossible to fit a shopping cart in there.
Product selection is incredibly lacking compared to other stores like East Hills Calgary or Marlborough Calgary. Absolutely disappointing how poorly planned the store layout is.

The grocery store is terrible (it is not Super Centre type..much smaller) with poor selection, tired looking fruits and veggies and meat that looks a bit old. Grocery part is crowded. The store is generally disorganized and not very clean. Even the blue on the outside of building is faded. This store needs a complete overhaul.

Website is no longer accessible. Having to verify every 10 seconds that I am not a robot. Can't login to my account, because it keeps getting stuck on verifying that I am not a robot. Screw you Walmart. AI isn't the answer to everything.

I am very happy with the Showroom Sales Manager: Angelina, for providing me with the best service.
She is very friendly polite and attentive.

Terrible customer service. I am looking for what I know will be expensive lighting fixtures for my home, and went into this store because I liked what I saw on their website. I asked about track/rail systems and other ceiling fixtures, and was told by the salesperson that these are typically for commercial applications and she couldn’t show me any. She then quite pointedly looked me up and down and said “…and they’re quite expensive” in a tone that suggested that she thought I couldn’t afford them anyway. Very off-putting experience.

Apart from the overpriced and poor quality of their lighting fixtures, the most strikingly negative aspect of the business is their customer service. The staff was very rude to us when we tried to ask a simple question regarding the price of an item. The reason for the unpleasant attitude towards us was perhaps bc she considered that we would not be spending as much at the store as another family that was also there at the time. We specifically asked her if she would be okay with us asking her a quick question before enquiring about the price of an item to which she "happily" agreed, then when we pointed to the lamp (a tiny lamp that cost $500) she made a very snark remark about not being able to help two people at once. Should the price of the item that we enquired about have been higher, we would not have had the same ageist and dismissive response. The encounter left us feeling very uncomfortable.

Extremely uncomfortable experience. The woman at the store came to me and said hi and just kept staring with wide eyes, I wasn’t sure what she wanted and we stood there in silence and then she said “just looking?” I said yes and she literally huffed away. Mind you I had just entered the store maybe taken two steps. Lol I stepped right out. pathetic

All the parts staff and techs at the mechanic shop here are top notch, I was actually really upset initially because I dropped my truck off somehow they order the wrong part, but they couldn’t put my truck back together with the old parts and it was gonna be a few days for the new part, so understandably, I was a little pissed….
It’s the way that they dealt with and handled the situation that makes me give them the five stars, they were open and transparent about it, they owned up right away to me, with a detailed explanation of what happened and even just the real time problem-solving demonstrated by the staff there, to move things around to get my truck done for me in time so I wasn’t left without a vehicle was impressive.

So as far as Business integrity and customer service, five stars for sure

Canadian Tire mechanic shop- I went in to get my alternator replaced. First off, my appointment was at 1pm and they said it would be finished later that same day, well 6pm rolls around and they call me saying they can't finish it because it's too much to do, even though there was only 1 vehicle before mine, this didn't bother me too much knowing how difficult a BMW can be. Anyways, I go to pick it up the following day and all seems well but there's still a squeal coming from what I'm almost positive is the serpentine belt. So I call them back right away and ask to bring it back in to have the battery and belt checked, not only can I not bring it back that day but I now have to wait 4 days to bring it back, so I do that, I bring it back today, my appointment was at 2pm and they said it would take about an hour, an hour and a half after it's supposed to be done I call again to ask for an update on when my vehicle will be done and they proceed to tell me that my pulley tensioner is shot and my serpentine belt has a flat spot. 1. They Just replaced my alternator, meaning they had to take that belt off and put it back on, but supposedly didn't look at the belt at all while doing the alternator so they didn't bother to fix it, aswell as the fact that they didn’t notice the pulley tensioner was in their words “shot” not slightly damaged, shot. 2. Every other shop I have been to, in this scenario, would have replaced the belt put it as a extra charge and explained it to me when I picked it up that it needed to be changed anyways. But instead of doing any of that they now want me to book my car back in and pay another $500 on top of the $500 I just spent literally 4 days ago. For something they should have been smart enough and professional enough to fix while doing the other repairs... I think this is absolutely ridiculous and super unprofessional of them to even put a bad belt back on a brand new alternator and then expect me to pay the same price I paid 4 days ago for what will be pretty much the same work. Not to mention the fact as I was leaving I hear someone in the parking lot saying how he had his tires changed and they didn’t even rotate them!! Another thing being them wanting to charge me another $135 after having my battery and belt checked, during my first appointment I was told that I could come back to have it checked for free. On the day I picked it up the mechanic told me I could either leave it there for another 4 hours (on top of the half a day longer they already took) to charge it fully and at that point they could check the battery, or I could take the car and in his exact words “drive it around for a couple days and it should charge back up” which yes it did, but it still kind of offends me that they tried to charge me on a courtesy offer especially when it’s something that a real professional would have done in the previous appointment.

Hey I don't know how to add a new review so I'll just ammend this one. I'm kind of disapointed becuause of a few things. First, I sat and waited for 5 hours for a part to be installed that didnt work. Thats no problem as it's not their fault. So I waited a couple more weeks for a replacement part and booked an appointment and made it for a Thursday as I had rodeo tickets for the wednesday. So the wednesday comes and they call and were unfriendly and said no i was wrong it was for wednesday, even tho I had it written in my google calendar, outlook calendar and paper calendar for the thursday. So another week goes by and I bring the car in. I was quoted around $500-$550 to repair the AC compressor and install and it came up to around $1000. I had paid a 330 deposit and I had a hard time convincing them of that but they finally saw that. Anyways a thousand bucks in, a month and a half of waiting and as of today, my AC does not work. blows hot air. I called today to mention and they dont have a record of me being there (i called from work and my reciept folder is at home so I will have to check). I have been a loyal customer for many years and have always come back but this go around I have been treated poorly and like things are my fault. The man on the phone today was rude and unfriendly. I guess since Canadian Tire has my money already, they dont want to help keep a customer happy by helping. I'll find another place to sort this out I guess. Its disapointing becuase theyve always been so awesome until now. Axel is the only one with great customer service.

I have had my vehicle serviced there in the past but I haven’t had a chance to go again until recently. My vehicle was taken in and my service advisor, Axel, went above and beyond and did everything he could to make sure I was taken care of and that my car was receiving the right care and details. I’m really grateful and I would recommend Canadian Tire service and especially Axel to everyone.

This store is a nice smaller store, but it is reasonably stocked. I made a purchase here and needed to return it, and the staff went out of their way to do the return.

On our way across Canada, we had to stop because we experienced a problem with our vehicle. They took us in earlier then what they told us it would be, it was fast and easy. They didnt do the repair since it was an 8h job, but they advised us really well and took the time to check out our car. Thank you!

Northern Lights was all I could have dreamed of and more. As a HUGE Christmas fan, it delivered everything you want in a holiday experience: oodles of lights, delicious mulled wine, giant present (like, huge - literally 3 feet tall), and TONS of Christmas trees. I also really loved the Wish Tree idea, where you get the chance to write down a holiday wish and share it with everyone else. These types of touches made the experience more personal than a classic holiday lights display, and I hope they continue to design experiences like this in the future. 10/10, would definitely recommend.

Northern lights was awesome!! We got some fantastic holiday pictures and enjoyed a few yummy beverages with some Mac & cheese by the fire. I absolutely loved the giant teddy bear for a fun photo opp experience. Highly recommend this event if you are looking for a fun holiday activity with friends or family.

So much fun for adults and kids. Great drinks and grub for everyone. No Santa line up. Yeah! Fun memories for the holiday season! Will be back for a non kids adventure…

Absolutely loved Northern Lights! This is a perfect spot to take your family, kids, etc. to enjoy an evening of lights, holiday magic, and of course Santa! All while paired with a nice cup of hot chocolate or mulled wine!

Had a blast at this fun Christmas experience in Toronto! Twinkly lights everywhere with tons of cool photo ops for the whole fam (loved the wreath swing and the larger than life storybook!). The mulled wine was a treat to enjoy while strolling around.

It's definitely chilly so close to the water (brrrr)... need to bundle up. But our visit got us totally in the Christmas spirit and ready to turn on alll the Christmas tunes at home.

10/10, would recommend!

We have attended Pumpkins After Dark as a family every Halloween season for the past four years. The pumpkin displays are situated on a loop trail— lots of lights and music and fog. We always enjoy seeing the new displays and seeing which movies or characters are represented. Our favourite always is the pumpkin light tunnel. This year they have also added some actors along the trail who engage with viewers and make the scenes come to life— my kids really enjoyed that. It's not scary, so it's suitable for young kids.

The artistry of the pumpkin displays is incredible — so much detail and creativity goes into every scene. The trail is well-lit and easy to follow, making it fun for families, but there are also lots of little surprises that Halloween lovers like me really appreciate.

I also noticed some great upgrades this year — from the themed areas to the overall flow of the event, it feels like they’ve really invested in making the experience more magical. ... plus the bar doesn't hurt ;)

Tickets weren’t too expensive, and it wasn’t too busy considering we went on week day. Lots of cool pumpkin carvings and things to check out. We took my boyfriend’s daughter and she absolutely loved it, overall had a great time creating new memories and hopefully starting off new Halloween traditions

The carved pumpkins were outstanding. This was our first time at Pumpkins After Dark and we were amazed at the pumpkin carvings, detail and lights. All levels of skill with the best being something that almost cannot be described. This is an amazing event for the young and old alike. The actual pumpkin displays are located up a set of stairs which would make it difficult for anyone with mobility issues. There are areas for very small children, and even a table where someone will carve you a pumpkin. Well worth the price of admission. Located at Olympic Park in SW Calgary.

This was okay. Signage could have been better as to how to get from parking lot to the main entrance. Staff were not super helpful. We had to approach at least 3 before someone could tell us where the outhouse was. Again, signage would have been helpful. The displays were dated & some were damaged. But they had a wide variety for all ages. This is likely more geared towards little kids and teens.

I have had much the same experience as others. I ordered a ceiling light on June 8 and my credit card was charged immediately but I was given no ETA or tracking info. Finally, June 20, I sent an email to inquire. I did at least get an immediate response, but they said that the light had not been in stock but it should ship that week. A week later, still no word about tracking so I reached out again. This time someone phoned me to say they had supply chain issues (blamed Trump/tariffs etc) and that the light would be shipped to them by Aug 2 and I could expect it to ship to me at that point. When that date came and went with no word, I emailed again. This time I got a call on Aug 6 to say that the fixture never came with that shipment and that they would have it by Sept 20 for sure (I think of Bullwinkle's voice "this time for sure!"). At this point I said I didn't want to wait any longer and I would like a refund. At this, he told me that they had other, similar fixtures in stock and he would email me a list in case I wanted to get something else. I got off the phone with him and looked up the fixture I had ordered, found it at another store where it was in stock and I would be able to pick it up that weekend (photo is of this fixture now installed in my hallway). I called back and asked for a refund and was told, begrudgingly, that someone would see to it. I told the guy on the phone that I wanted email confirmation of my order being cancelled. Received nothing and emailed twice before finally getting an email confirming I would be refunded. I also reported to BBB, and they never heard back. I was told on August 7 that I would get a refund "in a few days" and now it is Aug 20 and still no refund. It's looking like I will have to escalate my complaint to CC dispute and Consumer Protection Ontario

Do not order from this place.
We ordered a fixture online back in February. It is now almost 9 months later and we have not received it. They billed us immediately and so we are out the cost of the fixture. I have called multiple times and keep getting told that it is in the warehouse and will be sent next week. No communication other than the initial order confirmed email. Now their voicemail box is full and they are not returning calls.

I placed an order with Lighting Originals in June for a Craftmade CM-8W fan control. The payment was processed immediately, but the product never arrived.

I reached out to their customer service multiple times by email. At first, I received a reply, but when I followed up to ask about the delivery status, they stopped responding altogether. Months went by without any update or resolution.

In the end, I had no choice but to file a dispute with Visa to get my money back.

This has been a very disappointing and frustrating experience. Based on this, I cannot recommend ordering from Lighting Originals.

I would give zero stars if I could. Do not order online from them. I ordered a light in November 2024 and it never arrived. I have called multiple times and tried to get a refund and they never do it. The person who answers the phone always tries to tell me that someone will call me back, and they never do or never issue the refund. Last time I called I made him stay on the phone until the refund was done. He stated it was complete... well apparently he lied because the refund never actually came through to my bank account, so now I have to go through it again. Terrible customer service and a total waste of time and money.

Do not purchase from this company. After reading a number of reviews posted online through Google, I wish I had not placed an order with Lighting Originals (on April 25) for the Gains mailbox. It is now mid-July and there is still no update on when they expect to receive the mailbox from the manufacturer. Since placing the order on April 25th, I have continued to get the run around from Lighting Originals about when I should expect to receive my order. They often do not answer phone calls, and when prompted to leave a voice mail, the message does not indicate you have reached Lighting Originals - it is simply a generic recording. They do not respond to email inquiries either.

The manager is incompetent in understanding or resolving obvious shipping label issues and charges customers for tax on packages that were never sent by the sender or intended for recipient and refuse to refund or resolve anything and should not be working in customer service or with the public at all. Thanks for ripping me off!!! What an absolutely miserable "manager", disgusting behavior

Absolutely horrendous experience here. This is the second important package the carrier has lost and the service rep at the post office was rude, demeaning, and refused to answer any of my questions. I asked for the customer service number to create a ticket for our lost package and she rudely told me she had already given it to my husband. I asked if she could have the respect and decency to give it to me also, and she accused me of being disrespectful and indecent with her, rolled her eyes, and walked away without helping me. I asked her coworker if I had been indecent or disrespectful and the coworker just gave me a sad apologetic look and the customer service number I had asked for. If you see a short woman with straight reddish brown hair, ask to be helped by anyone else because she's miserable and wants everyone else to be miserable too. How she's employed still is beyond me.

Absolutely terrible. Thanks to this place being no help and somehow “misplacing” my grad photos, then changing their minds and saying they apparently gave it to someone else, I will now never receive them. They also don’t answer the damn phone and most of the staff is just outright nasty and condescending.

The people here are great. Office staff are kind and the carriers are helpful when I need to know something.

Terrible customer service and rude lady working the counter who states been there 15 years and with all that time and experience would not look up a Canada post number commercial department number, as it would just be wrong to help a customer.

Oversold, overpriced & underwhelming. The venue may have changed this year but the same problems persist (wish I had read last yr's reviews before buying tickets). NOT a sustainable or spiritual event, incredibly expensive ticket gives you venue access and a cheap nylon bag with lantern kit, battery tea light, 1 marker and playing cards. We also paid for venue parking, which was also oversold and we were directed to an adjacent farmer's field full of cow patties that everyone seemed to have access to. 🙁 5 food trucks for huge crowds, 1 mini donuts, 1 ice cream, and 3 for just regular food meant huge lineups 30-40 min at least for all except the donut truck. When it came time to launch lanterns after dark the amount of waterfront for the crowds meant huge lineups the sequel! You had to launch using one of 3 slides, none were well signed, no one knew where to lineup. We left without even launching our lanterns rather than wait an additional hour. So disorganized. The glimpses of the lanterns on the water was really pretty if you could see through the crowds. Wow, so bad. 👎

Agreed with other reviews about the food and ticket price.
First there was long line up, took us an hour to find a spot close to the venue.
There were only 2 food trucks that i saw another stall by the river which all has a long line up (again)

My 3 stars was for the time spent and when it got dark. It was truly Amazing!!! We brought our picnic blankets and chairs which made our experience enjoyable with family and friends

I found it to be quite underwhelming. The event was overcrowded, making it difficult to move around and enjoy the experience. The venue was too small for the number of people attending, which led to a cramped and tight space. The staffs that supposed to give the event “bracelet” don’t know what to do, so most people did not get of that.

There were only a few food vendors on-site, and they quickly sold out, leaving many attendees without any food options. This lack of preparation for the number of guests was a major issue.

Everything from tickets to food and merchandise was overpriced for the experience provided. Overall, the Water Lantern Festival was not worth the cost and left much to be desired.

The thing we enjoyed was that when launching of lanterns on the water was pretty exciting!

Hey #waterlanternfestival Calgary this sucks. You open the gate at 6:30 and we're told not to bring outside food, but not provide enough food vendors. Within 30 min of the gates opening the vendors are out of food. We're starving. Food lines are over an hour each. Brutal. Already ruined the experience.

Follow up: this event was WAY oversold. There were at least 50% more people than the venue could handle. It was difficult to even get to the water side to float the lantern. Cash grab! Great idea and done well in other cities, worst festival I've ever attended in Calgary.

Boring 😴 only 4 food trucks very expensive we bought the lantern bags almost 50.00 each also they charged us for parking passes which no proof of purchase required. When we got there was no proof of purchase just walk up and grab a lantern bag why did we have to pay for this 🤔 cheap dollarr store quality. Will not go again only 1 way in and out thankfully we didn't stay the whole time would be a nightmare getting out of this place. With the massive amount of people doing the lantern launch you'll be there till 3am only have a small area to put the lanterns in the water.
