We had our wedding at STORYS Building after our original wedding venue cancelled. David called me within 30 minutes of receiving my inquiry and after a venue visit (I was wowed), we were locked in. In what could have been a stressful situation, I didn't even have time to panic because the STORYS team had me sorted.

Leading up to the wedding, the STORYS team was incredibly helpful and communicative. They were super adaptable with our vendors and gave us plenty of amazing tips. The wedding day was *literally* perfect. The entire STORYS team were so helpful, accommodating and fun! The drinks were flowing and we had several guests tell us this was the best meal they had ever had at a wedding (we agreed).

Overall, between the amazing location, venue vibe, food, drinks and amazing team, we feel lucky our original venue had cancelled. It truly felt like it was meant to be and we had the most beautiful, stress-free day. I could not recommend this venue enough!

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience than the one we had at Storys. From the very beginning, Dave, Tiffany, Jennifer, and the entire team provided impeccable service. They were personable, responsive, and always available to answer questions, whether by email or phone. Their communication gave us confidence and peace of mind throughout the planning process.
The team’s attention to detail and level of organization stood out at every stage. We consistently felt cared for and supported, as though our wedding was just as important to them as it was to us. Every element was handled with professionalism and warmth.

One of our favorite moments was the intimate setup in the kitchen after the ceremony, where we were given a private moment to ourselves with a selection of canapés and champagne. That thoughtful touch allowed us to pause, breathe, and soak it all in before joining our guests.

THE BEST WEDDING VENUE IN TORONTO! My husband and I had our wedding here last weekend and our guests could not get over the stunning venue, the food, and the service. Everything was top notch. I have been following this venue for years on Instagram and always loved the vibe of the place! When I got engaged they were my only venue I inquired about!

First off, the value for your money at this location is incredible! Toronto venues have become fairly outrageous for minimum spends but STORY’S was very reasonable!

There are three main people we talked with and each of them were lovely! David helped us book the venue, Tiffany organized all the food and details of the day, and Jennifer ran the show on the day!

The venue itself is perfect for our wedding - 85 people! It can hold more but with this number we were able to have dinner and dancing on the same floor comfortably!

The food was fantastic and they let us personalize some of the menu option which I appreciated!

I can’t say enough positive things about the venue itself and the people running it!

Pros: The lobby is absolutely gorgeous with a big skylight and a library. The staff were great, from the housekeepers to the front desk and the restaurant team. We had dinner the first night and the food was very good, drinks from the bar tender was great as well, thank you Brook! The room was cozy and clean, and I loved the bed and pillows.

Cons: I wouldn’t consider this hotel luxury. The rooms are fine, but nothing really stood out. It was clean, but the lack of slippers in the room was surprising. Only one elevator was working, and it had water damage with a few broken lights, which felt a little creepy. What really stood out to me was how understaffed they seemed. I feel like we only saw two desk employees the entire stay. A tall gentleman who checked us in, very kind and helpful, but later we saw him parking cars as well. The young woman working the night shift at the front desk was back the following day, and then we saw her cleaning rooms in her suit!! It honestly looked like they hadn’t gone home. The housekeepers were also a bit loud in the morning when talking to each other in the hallways. I’m sure they did not mean to be rude, just louder than expected when you want to sleep in. Lastly, our room window faced the library. While it’s a beautiful view, it made me feel closed in, especially since the window doesn’t open for fresh air.

Overall, I loved this hotel. It is centrally located downtown with an awesome luxury feel. We did a suite and it was very comfortable. Staff was very friendly. My only complaint was that the room height was a bit low and dark but it is an older building and they made up for this with solid lighting and luxury amenities.

Stayed here for my birthday with my husband. The room was spacious and beautifully designed and so was the bathroom. The AC worked well and kept the room cool, everything was clean and well-kept. Comfy bed, pillows, cozy blanket and plush robes.

Valet service was great, the staff was very nice, we also had room service breakfast (it was ok, but I probably wouldn’t get it again), the check in/out process was smooth and the location was incredibly convenient.

One note is, the rooms look out the circular courtyard area that is the inside of the restaurant so it can get a little loud but everything died down at 11pm. Would definitely come back again!

We had the pleasure of working with Rae and Charles during a wedding reception at The Metcalfe Hotel, and they were both absolutely fantastic! Rae, the food service lead, made sure everything was constantly replenished—our guests never had to wait or look for anything. The service was smooth, timely, and super professional.

Charles, the bartender, kept the drinks flowing with ease and charm. Despite a steady crowd, no one ever had to wait long, and the guests really appreciated his friendly energy and efficiency.

They both played a big part in making the evening seamless and enjoyable. Thank you for such outstanding service!

Lovely spot to stay. Right in the middle of everything you might need. Plenty of spots to eat, really close to parliament hill, museums, all sorts of historic sights. The room itself was really nice. They have Le Labo bath products which is crazy. My hair has never smelt better.

I had an outstanding two-night stay at The Westin Calgary. The service was consistently polite, attentive, and engaging, making me feel truly welcome. What impressed me most were the amenities—the rooftop pool and sauna were fantastic, and the modern, well-equipped gym was one of the best I’ve seen in a hotel.

Having The Keg and Starbucks conveniently located on-site is a huge plus, both for quality and accessibility. I also appreciated how easy it was to store my golf clubs and suitcase after checkout; the staff made the process seamless while I attended meetings. And of course, the Heavenly Bed lived up to its reputation—an incredibly comfortable sleep.

If I had to point out one small drawback, it would be the bathroom in my room, which felt a little cramped. But that minor detail hardly detracted from an otherwise exceptional experience.

I left impressed and will definitely be returning.

Wonderful smell upon entering the lobby. Asked and was told it was their White Tea scent. Bathroom amenities have the same smell. Small but clean and stylish rooms. Amazing bed. Fantastic pool. Keg and Starbucks adjoining the hotel. Took too long to check in. Their was an Elite member desk so I didn't go there and found out he was taking regular patrons. Would have been nice to know that instead of having 5 other guests pass me while I was waiting in the other line. I feel that Reception should have noticed and asked me to come over. Check out is noon so that's another plus. I didn't rate it as a 5 because of the long wait at reception and size of the room.

My stay at The Westin Calgary Downtown was nothing short of phenomenal! The marble bathroom was luxurious, and the view of downtown Calgary was a delightful bonus. The hotel’s location is perfect—steps away from the vibrant river walk and Prince’s Island Park, making it easy to explore the city. I loved the 24-hour kitchen service; ordering a late-night snack was a game-changer after a long day. The entire team, from the bell staff to the breakfast crew, was incredibly attentive and genuinely kind, elevating the experience to a whole new level. Whether you’re in Calgary for business or pleasure, The Westin delivers top-notch comfort and service. I can’t wait to return—absolutely a five-star gem!

Good location close to both major shops, restaurants and the waterfront all within walking distance.
Staff were all very friendly and helpful. We booked a suit it was a good size, bathroom was also a great size, double sinks, separate bath and good size shower.
The hotel is now pretty old (approx60yrs) so despite being very clean it is very outdated.

The service at the front door is superb ! Michelle is really excellent at her job, gave us a map and recommendations on places we could visit, she is so nice that I will stay at these hotel again. Beds and pillows are excellent and overall cleanliness is great!

Outstanding service and hospitality — one of Ottawa’s best hotels!

Our stay at The Westin Ottawa was truly wonderful. We arrived early in the morning after a flight and kindly asked if early check-in was possible. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us — we are so grateful for their flexibility and kindness.

The room was quiet, spotless, and incredibly comfortable. The bed, pillows, and linens were top quality — it felt like a real sanctuary for rest and recovery.

The location is absolutely perfect, right in the heart of downtown Ottawa, with beautiful views and easy access to everything we wanted to explore.

And the thoughtful anniversary gesture from the hotel was such a sweet and delicious surprise — it made us feel truly welcome and celebrated.

Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ottawa. The service is exceptional, and the atmosphere is warm and professional from start to finish.

We recently stayed over night and there was a little mix up with the booking (which was our fault). It would have made it less of an enjoyable stay but Jackson at the front desk went above and beyond. He went out of his way to fix everything and correct the issue. It would have been easy to say it was our fault and leave it at that but he wanted to ensure we had a great experience!

The hotel is always clean and the staff always very accommodating. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Great location!!! Could not complain about the service. They handled the overload of people easily. Attended a conference and they could easily accommodate the massive numbers registered for the conference. There was lots of extra walking to do in order to have access to a great selection of workshops and plenary panels to choose from. The downside for me was the cost of meals 😪 Delicious mind you 😋

Check-in was very smooth and the receptionist was very friendly. She welcomed me and then told me she upgraded our room! The room was very comfortable. The pillows were just right! The shower was amazing as well. We had a very enjoyable and restful stay.

Had a wonderful venue tour there by April. Very informative and friendly. Their wedding space is not your everyday community centre space. It is large, light and bright and airy and will have an outdoor ceremony space too!

Trywood hosted our wedding reception in January. Phenomenal service. Excellent food. Everyone had a great time. They're willing to work with us on unique ideas we had for the reception and were willing to try something new and executed to perfection. Our guests have consistently commented on the reception having some of the best food they've ever had, especially the salmon! Would highly recommend for weddings or any event in general.

Large lot, several buildings. Attended a wedding, Staff was amazing, food was served buffet style and was also very good. Bar service was great again staff above par!

Chilly stands but great ice. Change rooms could be bigger. No on site food.

The food is very nice and please t, the chicken had a soft melt in your mouth texture and the rice was super tasty. The servers are very nice and like to assist you consistently. The tableware is super neat and fancy as well. The lighting is perfect and they can adjust it as well. Nice place! Just wish the dance floor was a bit bigger. Also, the washrooms are SUPER clean and smell great!!!

Good venue. Have attended multiple events here. Try to sit in the middle of the room as the edges make it hard to see the centre stage. Had some trouble hearing speakers, but not sure if A/V is in house or changes by event.
The food is just okay, although they do try to make it interesting visually and in combining the dishes.

This was such an Amazing space. I wish more people knew about. It's great for all kinds of events.

Beautiful place. The space is slightly tight to move around. Almost felt like a packed club in my 20s but this was a third party company event and potentially wasn't planned according to attendance. So be warry of how many you invite. The upper balcony level was the best. Less crowded. Could move around better and there was a bar so didn't have to go down to get a drink. Staff was friendly. Overall good experience. The 1 less star is for the narrowness of it. Could have had 2 entrances rather than 1 for better flow and safety. Acoustics were good.

Went to a charity Event in this space a few years in a row (minus Covid years). There is a ton of construction around the place so not the easiest to find. Inside the space is large, comfortable (space and temperature) with great acoustics. Bathrooms were clean and wait staff are friendly and hard working. It’s a popular place for weddings.

Never answers emails- Not for the community garden, community events, etc. Maybe they answer when you’re paying to book the space but I’ve been in this community for over a year, tried to get involved, emailed about certain events/programs and never heard back

Also removed the community kitchen/food pantry that many of us utilized.

Stampede hot dogs in the summer was nice though

The pickleball courts are really nice. You do need to book them.

What a great place to hold an event. We were worried about parking as there is a lot of multi family buildings in the area. But it actually worked out well. Was the perfect place for our group of about 60-70. The kitchen had more than we needed and the bathrooms were more than enough for the group. Was clean and spacious. Some of the vehicles left overnight were perfectly safe in this neighborhood as well. Thanks for having us!

For a small venue in a central part of Calgar it's pretty sweet. If you are thinking of of small wedding reception or retirement party or any other special occasion with a limited budget you should look I to it. It has decent P.A. system which is great for a dj or speeches. The room holds sound really well . I just deejayed a wedding on the 7th ig eas a blast. The people were running easy and accomaditing which is always. Great venue

There’s not really great value for the cost of the ticket. There were no shoe vendors, dress lingerie vendors, and it was light on dress selection. There were no bridesmaid dresses either. There were some great food vendors and the men’s suits vendors were the best. There was also no wedding planner vendors. I would take a look at the directory and reach out to the vendors independently, and save the trouble. Many are small business willing to make a deal.

I recently attended the Bridal Expo it was a great experience! I feel as if street signage/side walk signage could have been better stating which way to go when you leave the Parkade. Place was clean inside, lots of venders, lots of parking.

I had the most amazing experience at Cameo and Cufflinks! From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel so special and welcomed. Suzie helped me find the perfect dress, even though I came in very unsure of what style I was looking for. The selection was gorgeous, and I never felt rushed or pressured to make a decision. When it came to alterations, they worked wonders and quite quickly! They made sure my dress fit like a glove and it was absolutely perfect for my wedding day. The attention to detail and the care they put into both the dress and the alterations was beyond what I could have hoped for. I felt so comfortable and beautiful in my dress, and I can't thank the team enough for helping make my dream wedding a reality. Highly recommend to any bride looking for a perfect dress (at a reasonable price) and impeccable service!

At my very first appointment, Ida was the associate that assisted me. She was patient and accommodating as I shared with her my inspiration photos and what kind of style I was hoping to find. She helped me look through the different designers and would offer suggestions based on what I liked and what I didn't. My favorite part was getting to look through the dresses on my own - something that other boutiques did not offer. Once I purchased my dress, I was kept in the loop on its update and arrival. It came exactly when expected and I proceeded into alternations on time. Every fitting I had with the seamstress was straightforward and simple. She was even able to create custom sleeves upon my request using the extra fabric. Ida was there to see my final fitting and she helped me steam and pack up my dress and veil. I'm so glad I got to start and end my wedding dress journey with her! Her calm and sweet presence made my experience so positive which made me even more excited for my wedding day. Thank you, Ida at Cameo and Cufflinks, for helping me find my dream dress!

I had an amazing experience at Cameo! The dresses were all what I considered to be reasonably priced and almost all were within my budget (which was not extravagant). The selection was incredible, and how cool is it that they carry local Calgary designers like Lis Simon? I purchased my dress in November and it arrived in March, pretty quick turnaround for wedding dresses. The salespeople were wonderful, not pushy, let me look around as much as I liked and provided insightful information. They also didn’t try to hide the prices like some places do. I even got my alterations done in store, and both the seamstress and store owner were so easy to work with and transparent about the cost. I can’t say enough good things about the store, and I’m excited to get married in my Cameo dress next week!!!

I honestly don’t even know where to start because this appointment was everything I hoped for and more. I forgot the consultants name but she worked August 23, 2025. She was so sweet and caring, especially after I shared some of the negative experiences I’ve had with dress shopping before. She kept checking in with me, made me feel completely comfortable, and honestly made me forget all the stress I walked in with.

When I found out they didn’t have the dress I had fallen in love with last year, I thought my heart was going to sink — but she turned it around and made the whole experience so special. She pulled a dress that ended up being my actual dream dress, and funny enough, I think I love it even more than the original.

The best part? She never pressured me to buy right then and there, which was such a huge relief after the pushy appointments I’ve had in the past. That honestly made all the difference and confirmed my decision 100%.

I left in tears — but happy ones — because she completely changed what could have been a stressful day into one of the most special memories of my wedding journey. Truly 5 stars, I can’t recommend her enough.

I had a very disappointing experience with my semi-custom gown from Cameo & Cufflinks. The dress I received was not what I ordered. The neckline was loose and unstructured, and the skirt had visible puckering. I flagged the issues immediately, but my concerns were downplayed. Two separate seamstresses later confirmed the dress had construction flaws. Initially cameo committed to supporting having the issues fixed but walked that support back. I received conflicting responses, unanswered emails, and shifting explanations. I paid for all alterations myself to make the dress wearable. I was eventually offered a small reimbursement, but only if I signed a non-disclosure agreement, which I declined. I wouldn’t recommend this store based on how the situation was handled.

I had one of my wedding receptions here May 2025. It was an excellent experience getting to work with the staff here, in particular Chrissy and Gavin who were both our point of contact. They were particularly attentive and knowledgeable in all facets pertaining to our wedding at the Hudson and they worked tirelessly to have the day go off without any issues. The food was excellent as well and we had so many compliments about the venue from our guests. It can be a bit confusing for guests to find their way but with a bit of pre-wedding communication regarding wayfinding everything worked out. I would 100% have my reception here again! Thank you to the team!

I recently planned our firms holiday party at The Hudson and it was one of the best events we’ve planned so far. The space very spacious and beautiful. We had over 190 guests, had room for a lounge area, photobooth and a fun money casino! Their food is absolutely amazing and the staff was awesome!! Chrissy made the event planning portion a delight! I absolutely would recommend using the Hudson for your function be it personal or corporate!

Provided a stage for a panel discussion here. Terrific venue! Decent loading dock, helpful staff, huge freight elevator, nice decor, cool chandeliers. Hope to be back! Thanks for everything, folks!

We hosted our wedding at Hudson and it was the perfect location and experience for our guests. The staff was impeccable! A huge shoutout to Chrissy and Wendy. I could not have planned my wedding if not for these wonderful individuals. The space inside is elegant and it would be great for any type of celebrations. Highly recommended.

I had my wedding here and it was incredible! The staff is so helpful on the day of, you feel like a guest at your own wedding! And i didnt even have a wedding planner!
The food was delicious and all my guests said so. Even with a mishap with communication with the DJ, the music was great and the night was unforgettable.
Ambroisie is so gorgeous, it really is a beautiful place for a wedding.

I just had my wedding at L’Espace Canal last weekend, and what an incredible experience! From planning the event with the venue coordinator, Alexa, to the flexibility with menu creation with chef Stuart, the communication and coordination was so professional and seamless. We also had an amazing day of experience because of Jaime, Tony, Jonathan, and Rohit. We are filled with gratitude that the whole team made our wedding so memorable and perfect!!!! We got so many compliments from our guests on the food, drinks, and service.

A beautiful place, with a cozy elegance. I had the pleasure of flowering a wedding here, bud vase centerpieces, and a wild-style bridal bouquet. To date one of my favourite locations to flower. I also returned on another occasion to dine with friends at the restaurant, I absolutely loved the french onion soup, and the steak frites was very good.

We recently had the pleasure of celebrating our wedding at L'Espace Canal, and we couldn't be happier with our experience. From the moment we started planning, our coordinator Dietrich took care of every detail with such professionalism and care.

The venue itself is stunning, with its charming ambiance and beautiful views of the canal providing the perfect backdrop for our special day. The staff was incredibly attentive, ensuring everything ran smoothly from start to finish, the food and service was exceptional.

Overall, L'Ambroisie et L'Espace Canal exceeded all our expectations, and we are so grateful to Dietrich and the entire team for making our wedding day so memorable. We highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a perfect place to tie the knot.

had my bridal shower here this past weekend & it was beyond perfect! Rosanna was a dream to work with to plan the event. And Donna was so wonderful on the day of. She kept checking in and made sure the day ran smoothly. The food was also so delicious. Highly recommend to host your event here!

First time here. Attended a company Christmas party and wow.. The food was absolutely incredible. Super friendly and helpful staff. Very attentive. The room was done up beautifully for us. Nothing bad to say about it. The best thing though, was that pasta! Holy cow!

Went to the Marconi Center Ladies Martini Night and had the best time!! The venue was so beautifully set up with amazing lighting, the martinis were all deliciously made by Dave and Donna at the bar and the Crudo Bar and Dinner Buffet were outstanding!! Kudos to Mario, the food was so fresh, plentiful and delicious!! We also were serenaded by a crooner by the name of Shawn Marino who was very entertaining. I will definitely be back next year!

Nice venue, close to churches, accessible to seniors. Bathrooms are old but very well cared for. Actually pleasantly vintage that way. Ladies room had lots of good space for touchups.

a very beautiful old building - I've had a chance to see it as part of the Doors Open Toronto (2024) - however it is not usually open to the public. the place is very well maintained, and it looks nearly exactly like it did when it was designed/built about 1905 - of course minus modern equipment and some changes made after the purpose was modified from a bank to an office building. There is the original elevator that runs on DC and has an operator during the office hours. A perfect setting for period movies or tv shows. Such a gem!

You must look at the room with all the elevator mechanisms. Super cool.

My work rented on of the rooms on the main floor and it was a great location for the 40+ people there.

I had the opportunity to experience the convention center through an event I was attending. I found the convention to be very clean, from the bathrooms to the main rooms. There is a great view of Parliament. The staff I had interacting with were great.

Always a great place for my Industry's Landscape Trade Shows in the early spring. Spacious, great food, very clean bathrooms, and awesome underground parking, especially when the weather is not so good!

Very nice conference centre with free underground parking. This place is well maintained and the washroom is clean. Should have patrol to check the underground parking once a while because there are quiet and dark corners. Not too sure who provided the catering but the food quality was very good each time from different events.

Junior at the reception desk is a wonderful man. Professional and polite. Always with a smile. The only thing I don’t like about this hotel is that there are not enough elevators for the amount of children booked at this hotel. This is a favourite hotel of young sports teams.

Went to a work holiday party and was pleasantly surprised by this venue. Attached to Hampton Inn made getting there very easy since that's where we stayed. Great buffet that was well labeled for people with various allergies. Our servers were all very friendly. Hope we go back next year.

We had our Staff Xmas party there and have nothing but fantastic things to say. The service was exceptional, atmosphere was perfect and food was great! All 30 of our guests were very satisfied considering the last couple years we never had great experiences at other venues. Thank you again!!

Do not have your wedding here. There will be 3 weddings happening at the same time in adjacent rooms. You will hear the music from these rooms bleeding in while you’re trying to enjoy dinner and speeches. Would not recommend

We had brunch here for Mother's Day. I was a bit skeptical about going as I don't generally like buffets but my experience here was very good. Well laid out. Nice venue. The buffet had a good variety of hot and cold food that was replenished regularly. The staff were excellent, too.

For the past few years (except for the pandemic) the Christmas reception of the non-profit organization, which my daughter belongs to, has been taking place at the Sala San Marco. I have nothing but good comments for this place. The reception room is beautiful and grand. The catering company used are excellent. The food is good and plentiful. Their real key assets are their staff who is very pleasant, professional, quick, polite and friendly. As you can see, the family has become a fan of the Sala San Marco.

My husband and I recently celebrated our wedding event on August 15 2020 at Sala San Marco.

Our event was amazing and beautiful. The staff were great and sufficient. Always made sure my guest were content and had everything they needed. Michel the wedding director was a great help during my wedding preparations and during the pendemic. She kept me up to date on the pandemic health and safety protocols and guest list.
The venue was A+ so was the food. The stuff chicken was delicious, the broccoli soup was very flavorful... It was just delectable 😊
My venue was well decorated and ready when I arrived. Was I ever happy. The bathrooms were always cleaned and checked every 5 minutes or so... Which to me, was very important during the covid 19.
My husband and I are so happy that we were able to celebrate our wedding at the Sala San Marco during this hard scary time but yet we were not going to let covid win. Every one followed the protocols and Sala San Marco made sure of it as well.

Stayed for 5 nights. Staff were great! The hotel is located not far from downtown. Very walkable location and the streetcar stops right outside. Room was quiet but could have been a bit cleaner: dust and crumbs in corners and under the bed. We had a view of the dog park next door, which was entertaining. Rooftop bar has a great view of the city. Would stay again.

The Broadview Hotel was a great place for a short stay in Toronto.
The service was excellent and reception staff were really friendly and helpful.
Rooms were maybe a little small, if you were staying for more than a couple nights, and not much space for luggage. But they were perfectly clean and we loved the little touches of music related vibe.
We tried the breakfast in the bistro downstairs on our final day and it was delicious. I'd say mid range expensive for breakfast but very very plentiful.
The only thing we didn't try was the rooftop bar, as we didn't have time, so we can't comment on that.
Location wise, it is a little out of the centre and transport was sometimes a bit difficult to figure out getting back. However there is a bus stop directly outside which is really useful.
All in all, I would definitely recommend the hotel for a few days on Toronto.

I stayed two nights at the hotel and had drinks and nibbles on the patio. Both experiences were top notch. The room had a lot of details that set it apart from traditional hotels. A white noise machine. A record player. The overall design and functionality of the room made this a special stay. The patio bar can’t be missed. Incredible views, fantastic cocktails, delicious food and top notch service. Highly recommend.

We recently had our wedding at The Broadview Hotel and couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. From the very beginning, Kathleen and Emily were incredible to work with—responsive, organized, and genuinely excited to bring our vision to life.

The venue itself is absolutely stunning. The mix of historic charm and modern elegance created the perfect backdrop for our ceremony and celebration. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the atmosphere, food, and the overall experience.

On the day of, everything went off without a hitch. Kathleen and Emily made sure we felt completely taken care of, and their attention to detail gave us so much peace of mind. We were able to truly enjoy the day knowing everything was in such capable hands.

My fiancé and I stayed here for a night and it was very lovely. Room was nice, clean and had certain touches that made you feel like they put in extra effort (record player, sound machine). Our record player unfortunately didn’t work but I was still nice to go look at the records. We had dinner at the rooftop bar which was great, food was delicious and service was on time.

The historic house wasn’t very big, and when we visited, it was quite crowded due to a festival. It was interesting to see, but definitely not something you’d spend a lot of time in. Parking was available but quite expensive. There’s a lovely park right next to it, which made the visit more enjoyable. The area is nice for a short walk and some photos. It’s a decent place to visit once if you’re nearby. Overall, a one-time experience—not something I’d return to.

Visited as part of a school field trip, the staff did a great job keeping the kids busy and engaged while teaching them about our local history.
The practice archeology bins were a hit with the students and taught them to think critically about the artifacts they uncovered. The indigenous games gave everyone a chance to connect with the kinds of activities that people their age would have done centuries ago. The scavenger hunt through the museum was a great way to ensure the students examined every nook and cranny of the exhibits.
We will be sure to visit again when the upgrades are complete!

I recently went on a private trip with students that turned out to be an incredible experience. We had the opportunity to explore significant historical sites, uncovering captivating narratives that underscored the links between our past and present. This journey deepened our understanding of the region's heritage. Throughout the trip, the knowledgeable workers were helpful, answering our questions and enriching our experience.

After 20 years, The Confluence finally got an indigenous art exhibition curator, Star Crop Eared Wolf, for the opening of Kípaitápiiyssinnooni [Our Way of Life]. When we visited the space for the art opening, it was quite exciting to see the different works of art on display. The film showing during the weekday was also very thoughtful-- I wish more people would come and watch!

The only points of improvement for me would be the following:

1. Food vendors (I had 4 hungry kids with me and they kept bugging me to leave so we can go grab proper meals, which were not available on site); and

2. Paving the gravel parking lot a bit more because holy cow, those things destroyed my stiletto heels when I had to run to my car whilst hail was pummeling the ground 😑

Overall, it's an amazing venue for cultural experiences but make sure you have a big meal prior to the visit. Cheers!

Strictly not a tone to do here if you have a young one. But this place is situated in a good location with access to parks and downtown. Excellent green fields. Lots of places to run around or play with the river.

Valerie was a fabulous host! We had a bridal shower for our bride-to-be friend at the florist’s loft and we had an amazing time. The space was perfect for our event. We had barely any other decor since the space was already decorated so beautifully. Valerie was always ready to help with anything that we needed for our event. She responded very quickly and was very knowledgeable regarding any questions/concerns we had. We had a vision and Valerie & the florist’s loft helped us bring it to life. We would love to return to have another event there!

We had our wedding here at the end of May and it was the best day of our lives.
Everyone loved the uniqueness of the venue and Edward was there every step of the way to make sure that the day went great!

We decided to take a short walk around the corner to the from of Danforth Tech School for photos…highly recommend!

We got married here in August 2022, and had a wonderful time. Always a phone call away, and easy to coordinate with. We brought in our own food and they helped make it presentable, and helped move the furniture around between ceremony, dinner, and reception. My family could come in early and set up, and the staff helped with clean up (it was included in cost) and we could pick the extra supplies up the next day. On top of that, the venue is a beautiful space, our guests loved it, it is easy to find parking nearby. We could pick the colour of flowers that we wanted on the wall (we chose roses as seen in photos). It is also very affordable for being in the city, so it is easy if you live downtown to plan a wedding here! That being said, it is not a large space. We had approximately 55 people at our wedding and I'd say that was the max. We would have our wedding here again!

I had my wedding at The Florist Loft in May and it was the most beautiful thing ever! Like many, I did lots of research and went to go look at the place. Magda and Valerie are the new owners and from the first phone call, the ladies did such a great job at explaining the cost breakdown and they had a lot of connections with vendors and were super supportive with allowing me to bring in my own vendors. We brought in our own food, photobooth, late night waffle station, mocktail drinks!

I had my ceremony and reception at the Florist Loft. The transition from the ceremony to the reception went perfect. Valerie and her team did such a good job to stick to the timeline provided and the night went smooth.

We had a small micro wedding with 45~ guest and it was the perfect amount for us and the space.

The space alone is so beautiful and does not need much added!

I recently had my baby shower here, and am incredibly disappointed at the lack of organization and communication on behalf of the coordinator. I grew increasingly concerned throughout the planning process, and it all came to a head the day of my event. My mother arrived at our designated time slot for set up to find the space full of people, and when she went in to ask what was going on, the coordinator was not even aware that our event was taking place that day. Somehow my baby shower, which I paid over $1,000 to have at the Vandenberg House, did not make it onto her calendar. Thankfully, after realizing that I had booked well in advance and paid in full, the coordinator ushered everyone out of the space and cleaned up just in time for my mother and friends to set up for the shower. Frustratingly, no apology was offered, and I have not heard from the coordinator at all since the event.

If you still decide to book in at the Vandenberg House despite the risk of working with this coordinator, I would give you one piece of advice in terms of capacity. The capacity for this venue is stated to be 28 people seated comfortably, which is kind of half the truth. This works if everyone is seated for the majority of the event, but if you will have people mingling or walking around, seats and tables for 28 leaves very little room for anyone to walk around. If you are planning an event for which you would like seating, and space to walk around, I would limit your guest count somewhere around 20 people. I had 27 guests (myself included), and everyone was bumping into each other and really struggling to navigate the space as we made our way from our seats to the food table, around for photos, etc.

Good luck! This is a beautiful and cozy venue, so if you're willing to be very diligent about calling the coordinator and following up, it may be worth the risk to book in.

The Vanderberg House is Toronto's best kept secret space for intimate gatherings; we hosted my best friends 30th birthday on November 11th 2022 and it was astonishingly breathtaking. Charming venue and a perfect place to host my baby shower! Christiane was so easy to work with and accommodated all our requests. The space itself was so versatile and it was easy to transform into our party vision. Unlike other venues in the city, the Vandenberg House was affordable and offered so many add on options to enhance the party. Christiane went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly and was transparent about what was included from the start. I highly recommend and will likely return for my next event!

Our wonderful wedding planner, Kimberly from Envision Weddings + Events found the Vandenberg House 5 days prior to our wedding (due to our previous venue cancelling) and we thought it was perfect! Great central location, with an intimate and cozy charm. We had a very small ceremony and reception with 10 people total. Christiane was such a gracious event host, she always checked in and made sure we were comfortable, and she made sure we had everything we needed.
