A nice little bakery doing the classic cakes, cupcakes, and cookies with an extra emphasis on presentation!

The cupcakes I've had here were all very cute! If you need something made and need it to look beautiful, this is the spot to come to without a question!

Wonderful ambiance with very lovely and quick service! The price is very affordable—2 coffees and 1 large meal for about 24$. The food is enough for two people and we got some extras. The workers are very friendly and the view is pleasant. Would go again :)

The cookie was to die for and the creme brulee was very tasty as well.

The staff were very kind, and the shelves were well stocked this options.

The only knock was the store wasn't well lit, and it was a little dark in there.

Came here late night on a Saturday and ordered a pistachio tres leches and a pina colada cupcake. Both were out of this world! When visiting Montreal definitely worth a visit

The staff was so sweet, the food was delish (we had two cake pops and two cake slices), and I absolutely loved the amount of options that were on the shelves. Cakes, cake slices, brownies, eclairs, cupcakes, cake pops. They ha practically every flavour too! The prices were reasonable and overall it was a great experience. We will definitely go back!

This was a Tiktok recommendation for me! I heard their brunch was excellent and decided to give it a shot with my family. I got the Hot Chocolate to drink, which I do have to say was delicious, very nice chocolaty flavor that doesn’t overwhelm you. I then got their pancakes, but was quickly overwhelmed by it. There was an insane amount of mascarpone on them, lol. There was some on top (along with a big spoonful of butter) and some in between the two pancakes. The pancakes themselves were extremely sweet! It tasted exactly like a cake. I had half of one pancake before I was stuffed. I also took one of their New York caramel rolls/croissants (I had also heard of it) for later (I was VERYY stuffed from the pancakes 🥴). When I tried it later on, I was tad bit disappointed. The filling was okay, and so was the surrounding croissant. Not extraordinary but not horrible. The atmosphere was nice though — if you sit on the left you get a nice view of the oratory. Our waiter was also very nice and welcoming, so excellent service! 3/5 — nice experience, but just okay food.

The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere — modern, stylish, and it really feels high-end. Unfortunately, the cake didn’t live up to expectations: it was very sweet with a strong artificial flavor that reminded me of canned cherries, and considering the price, it didn’t feel worth it. Service was also disappointing — the staff member who served me (a young woman with short curly afro-style hair) had a noticeably unfriendly attitude, which contrasted with the otherwise elegant setting.

Incredible food, welcoming to a family with children. Wine tasting before selecting what to pair with your meal. Authentic French Canadian cuisine, worth the price!! Steak, Salmon, Burgers, Excellent! Our waitress spoke in French for my husband, and English for me. Lovely!

Absolute insanity, so fresh, so tasty, so decadent, so much flavour and richness to these pastries. We loved the many things we’ve tried. I always find the service impeccable, they pride themselves in offering top service and it’s very obvious from the way you are greeted from the beginning. The terrace is lovely as well and I love the expensive packaging of the products. Yes this place is on the pricier side but personally I find that the size and quality of the sweets match the higher price range. This place is all luxury and I love it.

We came here after seeing the sunset from the St Joseph’s oratory on Labour Day. It was slightly busy. The sweets look mouthwatering and beautifully presented. The food is just as delicious. Price is on a higher side for a cafe but the ambiance is rather worth it.

Delicious cakes super fresh and friendly environment and cakes are moist and super tasty. Great service-highly recommend.

In your first response to my review, you offered a refund along with a complimentary cake. However, after I communicated that I didn't need the cake anymore, your offer changed to a partial refund. Considering this, I have decided that I do not wish to pursue any further resolution. I will neither accept the cake nor the partial refund. At this point, I prefer not to engage in any further communication with you or your company. I hope that sharing my unpleasant experience will help others avoid similar disappointment for their special events.

I have been a loyal and dedicated customer of Irresistible Cakes (now iCakes) since 2002. Over the years, I have ordered numerous cakes for significant events, including my wedding, religious celebrations, New Year's Eve parties, and birthdays. Most recently, I ordered a cake for my 50th birthday, selecting a design from your website that read "Happy 50th Birthday Dom," assuming it would be similar to the cake displayed on the site, with the only change being the name.

Upon receiving and opening the cake, I was appalled by its appearance. I cannot comprehend how any professional bakery would consider this final product acceptable for delivery to a customer. I am utterly disappointed and frustrated that my cake was served without any icing on top, as I felt compelled to scrape off the top layer due to its unappealing presentation.

In light of this experience, I strongly believe that the individual responsible for creating and approving this cake should be held accountable and should not be involved in the production of any future cakes for your company. The quality of this cake is completely unacceptable.

We had an emergency and needed a cake that was made elsewhere to be fixed. Luckily they helped us fix it and made it look brand new again like nothing happened and even added a new layer cake in the bottom within 40 minutes. We were very impressed and so grateful to them. Thank you again! 🙏❤️

I was very disappointed with the service. I called to order an all white heart shaped cake and I asked if they could add white glitter in the icing and gold writing on the top. They said that they could and I also assured them that if they couldn’t do the glitter the same as the picture they could just leave it out. They sent an email confirming the details and I sent a picture to them for reference. When I went to get the cake there was gold glitter splashed on the top of the cake and when I asked them to make adjustments since I did not want that, they said “it’s buttercream cake not fondant so we cannot change and the cake decorator is gone”, I offered to come pick up the cake the next day and they said, “no he’s gone gone”. They were clearly just refusing to cooperate and talking to me like I’m an idiot and can’t spot terrible customer service. So I had to choose between taking a cake I did not like at all or leaving with no cake and lose 85 dollars. I have added pictures of the email confirmation, the reference picture, and the cake they gave me that looked like there was an ugly splotch in the center.

Great Desserts, Terrible Presentation

My husband and I stopped in for coffee and dessert after walking along Bloor Street. While the café looked elegant from the outside, the experience was disappointing.

Despite saying we were dining in, my cake was served still wrapped in paper, on a paper plate, with a plastic fork. That’s completely unacceptable in a sit-down setting—especially at a place that presents itself as refined. I wouldn’t expect this even at a fast-food chain. I had to specifically ask for my cappuccino to be served in a proper cup instead of paper. Why even ask if we’re staying in if everything is handed out like takeout?

The atmosphere was just as underwhelming. It was dead silent—no music, no ambiance—just awkward quiet where you could hear every bite and sip. It felt cold and uncomfortable, and definitely not a place I’d want to relax or return to.

The only redeeming factor was the taste of the desserts—they were genuinely good. But great food can’t make up for poor presentation and an eerie, unwelcoming vibe. Not coming back.

I was heading to the Jane Subway when I saw this cute Ukrainian bakery shop, and I knew I had to step inside.

I was immediately greeted with kindness and professionalism. I purchased their homemade pierogis and never looked back. The Cake Smith makes the Best Homemade Pierogis I have ever had!
The clerk informed me about Ukrainian Festival and I'm glad I came back, and brought my family too!

I also ordered a poppyseed loaf and mini red velvet cake cupcakes. It was fresh and not tasting like dirty fridge/freezer smell! I enjoyed it!

My family enjoyed it! Plus, we just visited their outside shop and had the cheddar and potato pierogis, plus one sausage, it was so good!!!

Will be coming back again to support!

Worst pasteries I have tried. Not only stale but the cheese cake had actually gone bad. Biscotti tasted like cardboard. I am never going back and warning others too.

Natalia has made my daughter's birthday cake for the past 3 years and I'll be soon going back for the 4th year in a row! I came in here just to check the open hours and was shocked to see so many 1 star reviews... so I wanted to add my 5 star review because I have always received a great service and a nice looking and delicious cake on time, on schedule, looking exactly as promised. All I bring each year is a picture, choose the flavour and pick up at the date and time agreed. Please see the beautiful cake pictures Natalia has done over the years for us

The rogaliki, I bought were not tasty, hard, stale, you can smell and taste the place of storage. It's worth discounting them before they become so. The eclair was better, but also not fresh

I’ve been a customer of Wish Cake for years, and she has never disappointed! Every cake is made with so much love and perfection. We recently ordered one for a birthday and another for a cake smash, and both were absolutely amazing—beautifully crafted and incredibly delicious. The attention to detail, taste, and consistency keep me coming back for every special occasion. Highly recommend!

Dropped by to pick up a lunch to go at What the Poke. Right next to the Cake and Cafe. Tried the Salmon poke bowl. Quite nice and enjoyable. Reasonable pricing. Good amount of food for lunch. Quite fresh. Friendly staff. Will come back again. They also have lots dessert items at Cake & Cafe as well. Just tried their sashimi plate… nice and enjoyable

This place is awesome！！！Both i and my boyfriend have been ordering cake all the time in here. The costumed cake that my boyfriend ordered for me is my favorite cartoon Chiikawa！！The Chinese lady （the boss）is so nice, she even give me free bubble tea on my birthday！！This cake shop is definitely my best choice！！ The decoration is so cute there. They even have sushi（The new menu）.Please check this place when u r free🥰🥰🥰

Must try mango smoothie here specially the cake mango moose chocolate moose and strawberry moose. It’s awesome.

My family has been buying cakes from this place for YEARS. We would get their cakes for everyone’s birthdays, minimum 7 times per year not including when we just pick up pastries. Yesterday, I picked up a cake for my brothers birthday. I asked for the strawberry vanilla cake that we order multiple times as it is a family favorite. We started to cut the cake 4 hours after it was picked up, only to find out it was FROZEN and DRY. THE ENTIRE CAKE TASTED LIKE FREEZER BURN! It was still so frozen that the cake and the strawberry filling were crunchy. Everyone threw their piece in the garbage, it was inedible. Total waste. Today we called the owner to let them know about our experience, and he was dismissive and extremely rude. He admitted that the employee should have mentioned it was frozen, but did not offer any apology or compensation as we could not eat it. We will NOT be further purchasing our desserts from an establishment that dismisses loyal customer concerns, and does NOT care about the quality they serve.

If you are looking for Mediterranean sweets Le Roi is one of the best . Many varieties you can find and all are delicious

Iordered a cake for my son's birthday, and it was absolutely perfect!
The flavor was delicious, the texture was soft and fresh, and it looked beautiful too. Everyone at the party loved it and kept asking where I got it from.
It tasted homemade and wasn't too sweet — just right. I'm so happy with the quality, and I'll definitely be ordering again for future events.

Without a doubt, the cakes from this place are the absolute best in Ottawa. My family and I have been loyal customers for years and everyone we introduce to these cakes becomes a regular here. This is a family-run business that truly knows how to make exceptional cakes. Can't wait to be back!

I had a very bad experience at Le Roi Pasteries & Bakery and would strongly advise others to avoid it. I purchased a 1 kg box of petit fours, only to find the quality shockingly poor — stale, bland, and far from fresh. After eating them, I became sick with food poisoning, which is completely unacceptable for any bakery.

On top of that, I discovered that the box was underweight even though it was sold and charged as a full kilogram. When I questioned this, the staff dismissed my concerns, claimed it was correct, and refused to exchange the product or offer any return. The attitude of the employees was extremely rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful, making an already bad situation worse.

Between unsafe food, dishonest business practices, and terrible customer service, this bakery is one of the worst I’ve dealt with. Customers deserve honesty, quality, and basic respect — none of which I received here. Absolutely not recommended.

As a photographer of over 24 years, I have seen my fair share of Patisseries and Caterers. I must say, without a doubt, that Montebello has to be my absolute favorite one.

Not only do they offer exceptional service and their presentations are beautiful, but the flavor as well and the quality of all their savoure and sweet options is simply mouthwatering!

They have become our number 1 choice for all of our celebrations and recommendations to all my couples and families.

Of course, my biggest weakness being their Zeppoles!! When it’s the season for them, do yourself a favor and order a bunch! Do not miss out on them!!

The staff is very accommodating when it comes to detailing the orders, specializing sweets, and their sweets are always fresh, zeppolis are one of my favourites. Cannolis are delicious, my go to. I would highly recommend this place and always go back.

Would have put zero but that wasn’t an option! Went to the bakery to buy a cheesecake for my grandmothers 85th birthday. The girl working confirmed that it was fresh from today even after asking twice. The cake was not fresh at all!!! Strawberries were old and cheese was so dry that it crumbled when we tried cutting it (as shown on picture). Never going here again!!! Only reason we went here is because of tour de l’Ile but waiting in traffic and detouring the city of Montreal would have been worth it for a fresh cake!

I called and spoke to someone regarding this incident! They started making excuses how the cake was over baked which caused the crumble and the strawberries were cooked with the hot jam that’s why they tasted rubbery. Not even an apology! I also sent an email and up to date no response!
Definitely never going here again !!!!!!!!!

Weve ordered cakes multiple times and they’ve always been incredibly fresh! Whenever I’ve given them a design I want they always make it even nicer than expected. Very happy 👍

I recently ordered a birthday cake from Montebello Pâtisserie and was disappointed to find it was overwhelmingly filled with cream and lacked proper sponge cake layers. While the presentation was elegant, the texture and balance were off, making it overly rich and lacking structure.

A better balance between cream and sponge would greatly enhance the experience!!!!!!!

Simple terrible experience. The cake was butchered. This is how they cut the image. It looks like it was done by a kid.

Hands down the best cupcakes I've had. They're fresh, delicious, clearly made with quality ingredients and well worth the price. Ordering online was super easy and nice, I was able to order and pay ahead of time, then simply walk in and receive my order. Super easy and painless experience, and if I happened to live nearby I'd probably gain a lot of weight from visiting too often.

Very poor experience here. Firstly, my cake with writing on top was spelled incorrectly (“until we MET again” instead of “until we MEET again”). Secondly, there was a massive hair in the cake. After sharing my concerns with the owner, they only offered me 10% off my next order but it’s safe to say I’ll never be ordering here again.

Very beautiful cupcakes and cute shop. The cake was really moist but the entire cupcake was a bit too sweet. Each cupcake is also quite pricey at $4.25 so I did expect more balance. A four star just to be fair because many people do like really sweet foods.

Was really looking forward to this place , friendly staff , place was super clean , 2 sizes of cupcakes ( Regular and Mini ) I was disappointed that you are not able to pick the flavours of the cupcakes , it comes in a refrigerated box of mix 12 for 19$ , some cupcakes were delicious and others you can taste the freezer burn .

Ordered my daughter's 1st birthday cake with 2 dozens of cupcakes here. It was a marble cake, cupcakes were vanilla and chocolate. Everything was not just pretty but they tasted great! Cake and cupcakes were moist. Icing/frosting was not extremely sweet.

Cheesecake not as advertised. The look was not exactly as the photo depicted on their website since the picture does not indicate chocolate sprinkles but that's certainly something to look past. The part that lowers their score is the fact that the insides were not white chocolate and the crust was certainly not chocolate crumb. They know how to make a cheesecake because it was certainly nice and rich but I just think they should update to what it is in reality. I wanted something that was classy and different and this wasn't it.

Edit: appears to be permanently closed, notice on the door says the landlord has taken over.

I've had food allergies since I was a kid. It's wonderful to walk into a bakery and be 100% carefree. Options are all lovely, and some selections for sugar-free and gluten-free.

Delightful Tastes was amazing! They were listed as one of the "preferred vendors" from my venue, but a co-worker also recommended them from her wedding. So glad we scheduled this tasting, because out of 5 cake places we tried, Delightful Tastes had the best cake. It was very moist, so you almost don't even need frosting. We went with Vanilla and Chocolate classic, and it was SO delicious. We did have a minor issue with our previous consultant leaving and not including all the design details, but I received a call back from the owner to ensure it was all resolved prior to the wedding, and he offered to provide the cake stand complimentary for the mix-up. Very pleased with the service and, of course, the cake!

You're paying a lot for aesthetics ONLY! The cake was overcooked and very dry - I've made tastier cakes from a DuncanHines box. We paid for marble but received chocolate. Everyone from children to grandparents agreed - the icing was excessively sweet. Had to pay for delivery as pick-up is not an option - paid for delivery between 9am-noon, but the cake didn't arrived until after 4:30pm (when we called and asked where our cake was?). Maybe they forgot to make it and gave us the display model.... would explain the taste!
