To say we're disappointed with Leopold Linca is an understatement. If you're considering him for your notary services, please do your due diligence and follow up on everything. Or simply look elsewhere. Our wedding was completely ruined, and it all came down to his lies and negligence. We booked his all-in-one package over a month in advance, only for him to call us the day before our ceremony with a last-minute cancellation. He claimed it was a medical emergency. It was devastating, but we were ready to be understanding. However, our attempts to salvage the day by getting our legal paperwork transferred were met with a shocking revelation.

Leopold admitted that he had lied about being sick. The real reason he couldn't perform our ceremony was that he never submitted the required paperwork to the Bureau d'état civile—something he was legally obligated to do 25 days before the wedding. He waited until Friday afternoon after business hours (less than 24h before our ceremony) to tell us, ensuring we had no options to find an alternative. His deception and "illness" left us without an officiant or a venue for our 20 person wedding. This person, who is supposed to be a trusted professional, proved to be an appalling liar. We wish our story could be a warning to others.

It is an excellent community-oriented mosque where every person feels welcome! Kids consider this place as their home playground.

I visited this mosque recently and had a hard time finding the women’s section. There is a door labeled “Women’s Entrance” on the other side of the building, but once inside, there were no clear directions. I found two doors and a staircase going up and down, but both stairwells were dark, and there were no signs or instructions anywhere.
At the main entrance, one of the doors was closed with no handle, and the other led directly into the men’s section, where men were present. This made it very confusing and uncomfortable. It would be helpful if the mosque added clear signage or directions to make it easier for women to navigate the space.

OMA mosque is a beautiful community. We have been members of their congregation for the last few years.

There is programming for children, men and women. A large community who helps one another and lives through their Islamic values.

My Husband and I couldn't be happier we chose the Ottawa Wedding Chapel for our small and intimate wedding ceremony. Bonnie and our officiant Luella went above and beyond making sure our day was special. It helps that the chapel and the garden out back for photos is absolutely beautiful. Recently had our Intimate Wedding here - affordable, easy to book online, and friendly coordinator, officiant and admin overall. Recommend for a stress-free wedding for a smaller party - ours were just immediate family (but the chapel can house up to 150).

Chapel features stain-glass windows on the sides, wooden finish all over and a garden at the back of the chapel for photos. The party can park in the front, and there is another parking area nearby for the guests. Highly recommend! :)

The workers and coordinators, all wonderful, from Bianca always responding in a timely manner to any and all questions by email, to Novia and Lydia helping with planning and the final set up. Everyone was a pleasure to work with.
Their partner vendors are also all terrific! They selected them all for us, and while we were nervous a little, after the night we had, we would not change a thing! The photographer was lovely and we are excited to see all of the beautiful shots! The photobooth is a must! We have still been receiving raving reviews about the food and how lovely of a bartender Matthew was. And no one can stop talking about Chris, the DJ and how he brought the party and the party never stopped!

Bellamy Loft took care of everything at an extremely reasonable price. Our officiant was attentive and charismatic. Our photographer had attention to detail. The venue was perfect. Mary was a pleasure to work with! Let me preface by saying prior to meeting Mary, my wife and I actually had reservations about going through the whole walking-down-the-aisle thing - neither one of us were religious or particularly sticklers for traditions or pomp and circumstance, and my partner especially hated being the centre of attention, so we had every reason to NOT get officiated - in fact we even thought about just going to City Hall and 'getting it over with'!

But after a friend and a venue independently recommended Mary, we decided to meet up with her for coffee to see if we'd click... and we were so glad we gave her (and ourselves) an opportunity, because as soon as Mary entered the coffee shop, she put us at ease. Over the course of a few coffees and Mediterranean pastries, Mary continued to impress us not just with her knowledge and professionalism, but also with her warmth and her enthusiasm. I especially remember how she respected our values and preferences, and assured us that this will be our day, the way we want it. Not to mention she knew our venue like the back of her hand!

By the end we were completely sold - in fact I'd say that prior to meeting Mary we were quite nervous about planning a wedding, but after we secured her as an officiant we practically built our entire special day around her, because she gave us peace and provided us spiritual anchorage.

On the day of our ceremony, she was funny, professional, humanistic and memorable - my wife and I lost our grandparents when we were young, but on the day of our wedding, it was as if Mary filled their voids with her love.

I entered the building briefly with a friend of mine and we were greeted with a rather rude and distasteful order by a member of the staff to ‘get out.’ This being a city hall and public entity, I feel as though I have been slighted by the municipality and hope in the near future this will be addressed properly as this town deserves much better representation.

Moved to ServiceOntario now, it used to be a separate location just for official document apostilles. Since the change, you’re in the same line as everyone else at ServiceOntario, so the wait times are long. I recommend arriving early in the morning to have a better chance of getting things done the same day.

Super easy to find! Staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Most efficient government office I’ve ever encountered. It took less than 20 minutes from start to finish everything including wait time. One staffer assisted people in line to ensure they had all the necessary documents or were in the right place for the services they needed.

Feb 2025 Update —- very efficient and pleasant staff, 30-40 minutes in and out — rarely do Google reviews reflect reality, in this case they do — Still construction so can’t park in front. There is plenty of parking nearby and on the street.

Very professional understanding staff, answering questions patiently and trying to help people to save their time. I authenticated a lot of paper in less than 20 minutes. Despite it was 4:30 p.m., they were still energized, helpful and with smile. Thank you. There is a parking nearby.

I never leave reviews. I don't know how but this business is more efficient than even private businesses. Somehow the Ontario government got this one right. I have been in person and mailed documents for Apostilles. Julian went above and beyond to help me with mailed documents that needed to be re-notarized because my local notary did it improperly (not embossed). This division of the Ontario government is lucky to have a guy like Julian on staff. Cordial, professional, and extremely helpful. Thank you Julian!!! :)

Wilma was very friendly and warm the whole time we worked with her. She has many templates prepared and will assist you in writing your vows. Wilma was so helpful in creating the perfect ceremony to capture us as a couple. Wilma was professional and so helpful at our rehearsal. We highly recommend Wilma as an officiant.

Wilma was absolutely incredible as our officiant! She really captured us beautifully as a couple in our wedding ceremony. She was creative and even added in a part of our printed thank you note to friends and family that she noticed at the venue, into the ceremony. She was also organized and patient at the rehearsal and helped us feel more comfortable for the big day. She is truly a gifted speaker and has such a warm and welcoming spirit about her. DO NOT RECOMMEND. The ceremony was NOT what Wilma had agreed to with the couple. Specific sentences and paragraphs that the couple asked to have removed, were not. The love story had many incorrect details, again, not what was agreed to. She power-tripped about 3 weeks prior to the ceremony, to the point where she left the bride in tears and the groom exacerbated, leaving both wishing there was another option. She was incredibly rude to guests and specifically the photographer, who was just trying to confirm a few details prior to the start of the ceremony (there was no rehearsal). She was arrogant, rude and just wanted to be "In charge" instead of working with the couples vision.

We met with Wilma on video chat and she was very kind and knowledgeable, and we chose her as our officiant. She had examples, templates and questionnaires and made our ceremony special. I loved how she guided us for our rehearsal as well, and completed our marriage license/certificate and would totally recommend Wilma.

We came across Wilma's website by chance and shortly after corresponding through email, we met her for the first time in person. From the moment that we first met, we knew we had to have her a part of our wedding. Her warm and personable demeanor, professionalism and thoroughness when going over the ceremony process convinced us that she was the perfect officiant to marry us.

We had originally planned to get married in November 2020 among a large number of guests, however due to the pandemic, we had to pivot and cancel our original large wedding (including date and venue). When we informed Wilma along with other vendors that we had to cancel our original wedding and explained that we were lost about whether to postpone our wedding or have a smaller wedding sooner, Wilma was the first person to call us and consoled us for the changes in plans. She reassured us that no matter what decision we chose, our day would be perfect. So, with that in mind, we decided to not postpone our wedding and got married in September 2020 with a smaller guestlist and the day turned out more perfect than we could have ever imagined.

Throughout the wedding planning process, Wilma got to know us personally, and with the uncertainty of COVID-19, she provided us with so much support by being so accommodating, flexible and understanding. Even though we got married on a cold day in September at an outdoor venue, Wilma's words during the ceremony were so personal and heartfelt that even some guests commented that they forgot how cold it had been while listening to her speak. The ceremony flowed beautifully. We thank you, Wilma, for everything you have done for us. No words can be enough to express our gratitude to you for being a part of our special day.

We used Instant Notary once and were absolutely blown away by the amazing service and competitive pricing. The process was fast, professional, and completely hassle-free. They exceeded our expectations in every way, and we won’t be using anyone else going forward. Highly recommended!

I came to this place as I needed to urgently go somewhere that offered walk-in services for notarization and based on my search on Google maps and its reviews I was confident. Even a review here from 3 weeks ago said it did and put the price. However, when I got there the lady at the front desk turned me back saying it was strictly by appointment. I even tried to explain that their reviews gave me a wrong impression just to sort of understand why but she didn't even spare me a second glance. I didn't want to pull the discrimination card but I think that is what it was except there's another plausible explanation. If you're strictly by appointment like you say then those reviews saying you offer walk-in are probably fake misleading reviews. I wasted time and money going there.

We had a wonderful ceremony with Sheri-D and couldn't be happier we picked her to officiate our wedding.

From the very beginning. Sheri-D paid a lot of attention to what we want and feel comfortable with, and she very quickly got a sense of what we might like. We weren't actually quite sure ourselves what we wanted, and her suggestions really helped us flesh out the ceremony we wanted. She suggested some beautiful poems based on what she knew about us and our preferences. After we got a draft from her, we were able to remove or alter anything we didn't like and replace poems and text with our own selections. At no point did she force her opinion on us - she always made sure we were happy with everything and was even willing to rewrite her whole proposal if necessary (which it wasn't - we only needed a few changes).

The most important point however was how she made us feel - Sheri-D is a very caring, insightful person, and immediately felt when I (bride) became stressed or worried, and she'd always calm me down and reassure me. She also offered to help in any way possible, and when we had to move our wedding on VERY short notice due to extreme weather, she was super accommodating and told us she'd make any day work for us. That took a lot of stress of our plate!

The ceremony itself was beautiful and meaningful, with some funny moments. You can tell Sheri-D is a professional speaker, and we got a lot of comments from our friends and family about how great she was.

My husband and I didn’t know anything about the parts of a wedding ceremony and were originally planning something very concise. However, when we met with Sheri D she really took the time to get to know us and gave plenty of examples of different components that we could incorporate to make it unique for us as a couple which was extremely helpful. Once we decided on a rough outline, she quickly got back to us with a first draft of our ceremony and when my husband and I read through it we got emotional as it was absolutely perfect and reflected us so well. She provided multiple options for us to choose from for different parts of the ceremony and didn’t get offended or upset when we requested a few small changes for the final draft. Sheri D contacted me the week of our wedding to confirm when/where she needed to be and arrived at the ceremony site early with all the paperwork ready to go.

Sheri D performed the ceremony perfectly and her personality really made it special, she had everyone crying, and laughing, and we can’t thank her enough for creating such a beautiful ceremony that was a perfect reflection of us as a couple. Her suggestions for incorporating our friends and family into our ceremony has given us memories that are truly unforgettable!

Sheri-D performed a beautiful ceremony for our wedding. We met with her a couple of months before the date which gave us a chance to get to know her a bit and her, us. She drafted a ceremony for us allowing for options of poetry, both her own and works of others. We went back and forth a few times before we had a ceremony that felt right for us. In these communications, Sheri-D was respectful and timely. We met a couple of days before the wedding day to go over the ceremony. It was a delightful experience, and we came away sure that the day would be amazing. Indeed it was! Sheri-D arrived early and spent time with me and my husband-to-be prior to the ceremony. When it came to the ceremony itself, she infused it with a playful spirit, and a kindness and respect for everyone there. Her quality of voice in her delivery of poetry was spot on. When asking us to recite the legal vows, she kept her voice quite low so that it was us that was heard by our guests - many commented on this saying that she knew when to lead the ceremony and when to be in the shadows.

When choosing someone who will be the officiant at your wedding, I think it is important to feel a connection with that person when you first meet. We certainly felt that with Sheri-D. We had chosen the poetry, and knew the order of the rituals. We didn’t feel the need to have a definite script for the day. As it turned out, there were some impromptu moments, but Sheri-D sailed through them with grace and wisdom.

We are very grateful to have found Sheri-D, and know that the words spoken at our ceremony were unique to us.

My husband and I commissioned Sheri D to officiate our wedding in July 2017. Sheri D had come highly recommended from a friend who was married roughly 9 months early and we were so happy that we had the chance to work with her.
Not knowing exactly what to expect or how to set up a wedding ceremony, we were grateful to have an expert on our side who we felt cared for us as people. She took the time to ask us questions about our relationship and how we envisioned the day. During the rehearsal and then during the ceremony it was so appreciated to be led by someone who had so much experience and who could really help to remove some stress from one of the most important aspects of our wedding. We even got some great photos before I walked down the isle of Sheri D making sure my husband was doing all right and helping to keep the nerves down while he waited for me in front of everyone.
The actual ceremony was so beautiful, poetic, poignant and us. The words she said rang true to the emotions I was feeling and the connection that I felt to my husband and to the friends/family we had with us. It was about love and life and nature and family, and was also kept to the point and timely (as was requested). Honestly the entire process was exactly what I had hoped for; we had a partner in Sheri D and she was able to strip away our uncertainty about how the day should go and be the guiding energy for the wedding we had dreamed about. I would highly recommend if you want a similar experience and are looking for poetry, honesty and love as you commit to your future life partner.

We found the celebrant very easy to contact and responsive, which was greatly appreciated during the preparations. She also took the time to meet over Zoom to explain the process, which reassured us.

Unfortunately, on the day of the ceremony, things took a completely different turn. The celebrant made comments that were out of place, including one about a personal and sensitive situation that she was aware of. This created an awkwardness we never wanted to experience on this special day.

Furthermore, her approach was far too controlling: she interfered with the photographer, even though we had given her complete freedom to capture the best moments, and even made unnecessary remarks about the music. These unnecessary comments even forced us to apologize, both to some members of our family and to our photographer.

Ultimately, these interventions disrupted the flow and lost the magic of the emotions we were so eagerly awaiting for this unique moment.

Yesterday was a magical moment thanks to you! Thank you Mrs. Beaumier as well as to Mr. Beaumier and his wife. You are truly good people....What a beautiful day.

We really liked our experience with Élysa Thiboutot at Center Amour et Mariage; smiling and very passionate woman! She is open-minded, which means we can have the wedding of our dreams, she told us lots of stories of weddings in which she was the celebrant and some surprised us, places we could never have thought of, but that's what makes our unique day unforgettable. There are so many things to think about when planning a wedding and being able to entrust the "paperwork" part to someone makes it so much simpler and less stressful, it's quite complicated and stressful to manage. Élysa knew how to keep it simple, reassure us and even take charge of our wishes so that we didn't have to think about them for the big day and so didn't have to be afraid of forgetting them. Easily reachable and makes sure to remind us if necessary to get in on time.

In addition, Center Amour et Mariage covers a very large territory, and finds the closest person available for us. I made a call and in 2 days, Élysa was found and called me for the next steps, I was pleasantly surprised at the speed.

Not too crowded. Picturesque buildings. Good place to walk around. Public transit is accessible.

Ottawa City Hall is not a grand or impressive building by any means, but it feels very functional and practical. The design is simple and modern, with open spaces that seem to serve their purpose well. It may not wow you architecturally, but it gets the job done as a working municipal building.

Precisely what a city hall should look like. I got a bit of history and facts about Ottawa from the Museum on the ground floor. In addition, there are beautiful artworks from different artists on display and some on auction to be purchased. The rink of dreams is located right in front of the city hall, and it's always a major attraction during the winter season. Plenty of multilevel parking 🅿️ available at very reasonable prices. The City Hall also has other offices, including a Canada service office. The hall also serves as an event centre, which is really cool.

City Hall has great customer service and good workers. When I had concerns and struggles with documents and information, they didn't hesitate to help and make me feel comfortable. Back in 2023, my husband and I got married there in a court room by a judge. She's the sweetest person, and we feel honoured to have met her. She made it enjoyable and meaningful. I'm sure many other judges are just as kind and professional. City Hall offers a lot of services and they're always happy and ready to help. I can say they make me feel lucky and proud to live in Ottawa.

Its a city hall! Woo-hoo... Nice seasonal skating rink, a few minor art/cultural display areas. Ottawa Sport Hall of Fame/Shame? has been downsized to a large video display which is as of Nov24 inaccessible for some indeterminate time/reason.

The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, a far cry from the often sterile environment one might expect. What truly stood out was the staff. They were not only incredibly knowledgeable and efficient in handling my needs but also genuinely friendly and approachable. My husband and I have been this agency for the past 5 years, and had great experience with all staff and efficiency of the place. Always being welcomed by smiling, patient and very knowledgeable staff. No waiting time adds to another bonus to it. I loved one of the plant and was able to ask Anna for a branch to propagate as I know they will definitely not give some strange look, surprisingly, the manager Andrea offered to take the whole plant! You girls rock!

I recently took my motorcycle road test at The Registry (Legacy location), and was failed by an examiner named Nik for reasons that felt arbitrary and inconsistent with safe driving practices—such as yielding to pedestrians and slowing down at exits. With nearly 30 years of driving experience and a spotless record, this was the first time I’ve ever failed a test. I’m not disputing the result, but I believe this kind of evaluation damages the reputation of the office and erodes trust in the licensing process.
I give it 2 stars because the personnel at the office were very friendly and respectful. It is unfortunate that an examiner does not represent them.

I came in with my husband around noon on Friday, Sept 5, and was pleasantly surprised! No line at noon and super quick service! The clerk who helped us (I’m so sorry I forgot her name, but she was sitting next to the window) was absolutely wonderful. She was incredibly friendly, patient, and helpful. Even though I messed up my documents and she had to reprocess my ID application, she handled everything with a smile and made the whole experience stress-free. Big thanks to her for making our visit such a positive one!

As I live in the area, I use this registry for all my needs, including a class 6 road test.
This registry is 5 stars. The staff are very helpful and welcoming. But the testers are amazing. Really know what thier doing and how to have the test taker relax and not stress over the process.

Wish to have more flowers around and make it more inviting. Your old benches should be updated. Will be a good ideas to install umbrellas with chairs around fountains( for some reason I didn’t see them working this summer 2024)

Our Toronto City Hall is in the shape of a UFO! 🛸 That alone puts it on the map for a destination location. 🍁 Nathan Philip Square boasts the public skating rink ⛸️ in the winter as well as a huge Christmas Tree 🎄, which has been a holiday tradition for as long as I can remember. In the summertime, NPS hosts numerous events and on Queen Street you’ll find a vast array of food trucks 🌭🌮🍔🍕. I have attended my best friends wedding 💒💍 at City Hall and when you leave the space ship, well, there are those moments where you feel transported at times. The Toronto sign along with the Indigenous Wheel and Maple Leaf, those are photo ops waiting to happen. If you’re visiting Toronto I highly recommend City Hall and Nathan Philip Square for some classic but distinguishable tourist shots and if you live here, same rules apply! 📸🛸🍁

I was beyond moved today when a friend from Agnutmaqan and visited the Spirit Garden for the first time. The Turtle, Spirit Canoe, Teaching Lodge, Two-Row Walkway and the Three Sisters Garden were magical!!
