I was very happy to discover today that Dana Dow Jewellers sells watch batteries in store and also installs them as well as adjusts watch bracelets for a very reasonable cost.
After The Bay, along with its jewellery shop closed, I didn’t know where to go for these services. Now I do.

I visited the David Yurman store today, hoping to purchase a stackable ring as a Christmas gift. Unfortunately, the experience fell far below expectations. From the moment we walked in, the sales associate appeared cold and annoyed. I understand that the holidays can lead to items being out of stock, but the lack of warmth and professionalism was disheartening.

What truly baffled me was being made to crouch down to try on rings priced at $600. She didn’t even offer to set us up at a more comfortable spot or bring the rings over to me. I’ve never experienced such an odd and disrespectful approach to customer service. Even my boyfriend noticed the poor service and suggested we leave for Tiffany & Co.

I loved DY - but bought a $2k ring that broke after just 2 months & was told by store that I “overly” used it & they will make an exception this time & repair it but if it brakes again then it’s not on warranty- I had eyed few items I liked - but this really turned me off -

Reminded me of NY jewelers, great selection, good customer service, the only issue was finding parking, but if you go by metro it's absolutely fine, very well situated right in the heart of downtown Montreal, will definitely go again.

honestly, unacceptable customer service at this store. my boyfriend and i came to look at engagement rings. they didn't offer us any water and treated us more as a sale. additionally, she kept asking when the engagement would be after we had looked at some rings. we said we wouldn't be getting engaged for another year or two but we wanted to get ideas going. she told us that we should come back in about 6 months before the engagement since this would be a more acceptable timeline to look at rings. this was very confusing to hear considering an engagement ring is a big commitment, and to be honest even if we were going to get engaged in the next 6 months we wouldn't have bought anything that day - the point was to look. she gave us a pamphlet (without her contact card in it) and told us to come back when we were getting ready to get engaged. this is a stark comparison to how we were treated at Tiffany's. they asked our names, offered water, asked how long we'd been together and if i had anything in mind. even though the Tiffany's sales rep knew we wouldn't be buying anything today, she told us to keep looking at other places and get a better idea of what i wanted and then i could book a second appointment. this is all to say, we won't be shopping at this Birk's anymore.

Inexperienced and rude staff. First of all, no one came to greet me after I walked in the store in 20mins. Finally an old lady came to me. I wanted to try a bracelet. She said that one is not available; however, I saw it online. Then I tried a few others, I said I still prefer the one I saw online. She tried to argue with me and ended up with whatever you like. I’m like: ?? Of course I must buy what I like. Why do you even argue with me? Not even mentioned about her incompetence. She doesn’t even know how to search a product. Every salesperson looks like temporary and knows nothing about their own products. They just can’t admit that they don’t know anything and always want to argue with the customers. Honestly, since Van Cleef closed in this location, there is no point to come to this store any more. Suggest go to Holt Renfrew on the other side of the street if you want a more professional and helpful sales person

I’ve been coming here for the last few years and I have to say it’s always great service. This hidden gem not only does fantastic service when it comes to tuning watches and fixing and crafting jewelry but they also have great pieces for sale. It’s in house so they won’t need to send off your items and you need to come back in a week which is something I love.

I had a fantastic experience at this jewelry shop! I came in to get my ring resized and cleaned, and the team was incredibly helpful and professional from start to finish. The resizing was done perfectly—my ring fits like a glove now—and the cleaning brought back its original sparkle. You can tell they really care about their work. This location is either a one or a five. Waited 20 plus minutes to be served while two staff chatted away, felt like they decided I could afford to be there, although I have been a loyal client for years. If you want awesome service, without being pre judged, call ahead and book an appointment with Raymond, he is 100% better than the other staff, truly cares, and gives the best client care.

The customer service at this location is a joke!
In December I walked in to purchase this chain for my wife, once she had opened her gift she realized the chain was too short for her neck.
On Jan 3rd we stopped it to pay an added fee to lengthen the chain(perfect) The gentleman that helped us was nice and mentioned that she could take home her original box as they would provide a new one once the chain arrived back from the lengthening,(That would make sense as this is a tiny chain) He assured us that we would get a call as soon as it arrived.
Fast forward to today, I needed to call them because I never heard back and of course the chain is sitting there, I head in to pick it up, sign for it and head home in this silly pouch!
Why wouldn’t you put it in a box as mentioned ?
Now here we are at home spending an hour untangling this chain!
I might as well have just bought jewelry from Walmart!
A chain this small and it’s handed back in a sack?
Unacceptable! You pay a premium for something and it’s handed back to you in a pouch only for it to get tangled!

Overall a great experience. We went to the store to try on and buy bracelets for our 10-year anniversary as best friends. The man helping was kind and friendly, he was very helpful. One bracelet was available in store, but the other one was not. Since, we live quite far from the store, we opted for the second bracelet to be delivered to our home.
Delivery was a nightmare, Fedex is the worst delivery. It’s been delayed several times, it proved to be difficult to retrieve the package from them. Tiffany, don’t use fedex anymore.

Alice was so amazing and nice for getting me and my fiance’s wedding band making the experience so smooth. I will recommend my friends to Alice. Thanks Alice🩷

Amazing experience for first time shop in Tiffany stores. Who service us for our first visit here is NING. She is very patient to explain everything about diamonds, like teach someone who is zero experience. But she never lose her professional and observant, even we did not buy any thing for the first time on May. After we decided the date and then we go again by June, we found our gorgeous Engagement /Wedding rings and prefect size. Free of cost even after the warranty ended as the other location couldn't be bothered and said there was nothing they could do and told me to leave and call customer service. When we were looking for a special ring we did a lot of online in store browsing at various jewellers. To us, most of those experiences were a bit disappointing and just didn’t make feel as good as you need to when making a big decision. Lucky for us, we visited Tiffany’s and felt really comfortable and welcome. All of the staff were very friendly and warm and happy to show you various pieces without hesitation. A few hours later on our return we were welcomed back at the door and introduced to Victoria. She really did a great job asking us questions in order to learn about our story and help us find the perfect ring. She has a wealth of knowledge about the Tiffany’s Brand and their history in the diamond business. We never felt pressured and were super impressed with her professionalism and excellent service. We finished up our purchase and had a little celebration and have the ring at home completing the perfect transaction. Thank you Victoria for being so kind and making us feel truly special. For my 56th birthday I treated myself to a diamond by the yard necklace and the experience alone was a perfect gift! I was greeted by the security guard with a smile and a welcome. I browsed and took the time to pick the perfect piece for myself with the impeccable service from Kellie who was delightful and patient. Once I picked my gift out, they brought out the champagne to celebrate!! I continued to browse their beautiful dreamy and unique jewelry! Upon our departure, the security guard opened the door and chatted us up before leaving. I am totally satisfied with my purchase and my experience and maybe one day soon I’ll come back to treat myself again!

Good location and staff for the most part. Most staff are great. However, I have had 2 interactions with one staff member who left me feeling horrid. I'm surprised she's still working there.
The first interaction was in May 2024. I went in to get my silver ring inspected and cleaned (bought from Charm). She put it through the ultrasonic and handed it to me still wet. It then started turning black within minutes. I went back, and she tried to blame it on me, saying I must have been using chemicals, etc, at home that affected it and that it wasn't the cleaning. This lady had assumed my ring was white gold or platinum and never checked the material before cleaning it. She also tried to convince me that it's just a cheap/inexpensive ring. I walked away in tears and returned again a short while later with my mom to re-explain the situation. We finally got her to agree to send it out for cleaning because their treatment affected the finish. I should not have had to fight so hard just to get a silver ring that means a lot to me cleaned.
The second interaction was in February 2025. I went to pick up my new engagement ring after it had been sent out to be sized. I practically had to beg her for a box as it was a new ring and had never left the store. I had hoped she had moved on to another opportunity, but unfortunately not.
To keep my warranty, I need to return every 6 months for inspection, but I will likely be choosing a different location. I would not trust this individual to handle my jewelry safely or to treat me with respect.

I had given them a tie clip to engrave with "Beloved" for my Son. It was a very poor engraving job that read "Eeloved". Instead of just admitting it was a poor job and maybe giving me a discount, she tried to force me to admit it read "Beloved". I paid and gave her the tie clip to do with as she pleased. I was so upset I forgot to take a picture ... but perhaps that is just as well.

I left my watch,which is an heirloom from my grandmother, to have the batteries changed. Turns out,the guy don't know how to change or even open it and left a dent on my watch. Such a great service really! 🤨 Don't leave any of your jewelries or watches here! I was not in the mood to complain in the store but I am letting you guys know.

Typically not one to write reviews however the service, honesty, integrity, among others things I received from Pal was top notch. My family has been going to this store for the past 10-15 years and have dealt solely with Pal - and I went in as I was referred by my family - and I’m happy I did. She is so genuine in terms of helping you find the right item. I’ve been to other stores and felt pushed and upsold on things I did not want. But Pal listened to what type of item I was looking for, I gave her a budget - and within a few minutes she presented me with a variety of options. After crossing some items off the list (by a mix of my needs and her recommendations) she helped me purchase the perfect item. I ordered a ring online in March, and it was received by Canadian customs on April 10. It has now been on hold for 22 days. The reason is that the amount declared by Diamond Factory was lower than what I actually paid. As a result, customs requested a detailed invoice.

However, the only document I have does not include a full breakdown (ring price, certificate, and taxes). I’ve sent multiple emails to Diamond Factory and even called them, no one was able to help, even though they said they would. I have NEVER received the detailed invoice required by customs (THAT I ASK MULTIPLE TIME!)

So the ring I bought to propose to my partner has been STUCK AT CANADIAN CUSTOMS FOR OVER 22 DAYS, and no one at Diamond Factory is helping. In fact, they’ve stopped responding to my emails entirely.

Its a shame but my proposal plans have been cancel for now because it’s hard to propose without a ring… Even if their prices seem attractive, if they have to ship internationally: AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.

I ordered a ring from here and it was supposed to be delivered in 4 weeks. Due to the company claiming an incorrect amount on the invoice the ring is now stuck in customs since April 22.(It’s june 9th today). I don’t know when the ring will arrive either, as you can imagine this is not a situation you want to be put in when you had a date planned for the engagement. I do not recommend buying a ring from here, look for a store that doesn’t ship from overseas.

Went in to visit Julie at Diamonds Factory to purchase an Engagaement ring and she was AMAZING. She gave me a full education as my knowlege on diamonds was next to zero. Her personality and patience made this a very enjoyable experiance and not once did I feel any pressure which I always felt at other jewellers. Can't wait to come in to purchase the wedding bands :-)

I went into Griffins To look at wedding rings and was very lucky to come across Whitney, who couldn’t be more knowledgeable, honest and wasn’t pushy in any way.
I told her what I was looking for she showed me a ring that had been $7999 which happen to be on sale for 70% off. The ring is spectacular very beautiful which I purchased for only $2400. She explained everything to me how everything works with six months cleaning and everything was seamless. My wife was thrilled at how beautiful the ring was.

Walked in one afternoon with severely tarnished jewelry and the kind sales associate helped me for no charge. The ultrasonic cleaner can only take precious metals, and she helped me identify which of my jewelry could be cleaned in the machine and was very patient as I detangled six necklaces from each other. The sign says 70% off, “No Exceptions”
This is just false advertising and a lie in my opinion (and probably by others).
I walk in to the Griffin Jewelry store to look at silver rings.. They didn’t have any but some of the tungsten rings they had caught my eye.. I try them on, end up liking one and get told by the manager that those are not infact 70% as the store advertised. Granted they still have somewhat of a sale going on but I don’t see how this can’t be false advertising.

The second star is for the lady that was helping me very well. Great customer service from the older employee that was really trying her best it seamed.

Maggie’s is incredible! I would highly recommend them for any custom work you want. My fiance and I worked with Kulpreet on my engagement ring, and it’s everything I could have ever hoped for. I get compliments on it daily! Kulpreet is amazing as well, straight to it and delivers every time. We also found my wedding bands here that fit my engagement ring perfectly!

I was looking for a jeweler that does custom made rings, to help me make one for proposing to my girlfriend (I drew up my own sunflower design on paper). After alot of shopping around, I met Kulpreet at Maggie's.

Their boutique reflects real pricing on the costs of the materials and stones (alot of other places were quoting me double the cost for my deisgn) Also, their metals and diamonds are certified, with an IGI certificate for the diamonds, so you know exactly what you are getting, and not overpaying on the materials.

Kulpreet was so helpful! I showed her my designs and she helped me thru the process from paper to finished ring. She explained the differences between different materials, and the advantages and disadvantages of certain stones. She gave me a full education on how diamonds are graded.

She gave clear and practical advice about some of the flaws in my design as far as comfort and practicality (height, style mixes, ect.), but stayed true to my vision for the ring. She helped blend her expert advice into my deisgn choices to make the perfect ring, and she improved my initial concepts exponentially!

I couldn't be happier with the result. Every woman I showed the ring to leading up to the proposal jaw's dropped, and my fiance is ecstatic over it! She said that it was exactly what she wanted out of a ring. Thank you so much Kulpreet, you made this process so enjoyable and easy!

I went to the store in October to browse around, and she took her time in considering my budget, needs and explaining the details of each ring I was interested in. Most importantly, she did not pressure me into making a forced purchase, but rather she provided me her contact information if I had any questions and laid out the purchase process if I ever came back. I returned in December and was lucky enough to find what I wanted with an additional discount.

I want to express my extreme disappointment towards Michael hill jewellery shop at Rideau center.
I bought a necklace which I liked from the store which was full of scratches.
They promised me to get it fixed.
I gifted my partner but we wanted it return it.
God knows what kind of fixing they have done.
When I went to return it, as it says within 30 days.
They refused to accept it as the scratches were again visible when it was sold without wearing it.

I usually don't even write reviews, but wow the women who work here are dripping in attitude and act with such disrespect. Regardless of your approach (speaking from THREE experiences within ONE month with the same location and people) they act as if you are a homeless person/thief, (showing consistent rude facial expressions, rolling eyes, and puckering their botox filled lips while they share looks with each other). I don't know what their deal is, but it is so unwelcoming. You should stop treating paying customers like they are inconveniencing you, or as if you can't be bothered to help them nicely (especially when they are being nice to you) because your store is always empty. I seriously regret my purchase because every time that i need something i now have to face the squad of mean girls acting like this is high school and not Rideau mall.

It was my birthday when I visited this store and they were so helpful in finding what I was looking for. They cleaned all my jewelry and made it all look like new. I was very pleased with their customer service and it was a pleasure dealing with them.

Thank you so much to the owner. She’s a very nice woman. I called and asked if she could resize my ring, which I needed on the same day. She told me she could do it and that it would only take an hour. She gave me a time, and I came earlier than expected because I told her I would come back and that the ring would be ready. It was a straightforward and pleasant experience. Honestly, she’s amazing. I hope to come back again.

Best place to buy gold in Ottawa. The staff here are super knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. They truly care and want you to find something you’ll love. And if they don’t have it, they will make it for you very fast and with beautiful craftsmanship. The owners Eli and Noura very honest, and the prices are great.

I had a very disappointing experience. I went in to have my ring fixed because the stone was loose. I knew tightening the prongs would be only a temporary solution, so I asked the lady helping me if it was possible to add some kind of support for better security. Instead of addressing my concern, she ignored me—literally looking past me and not paying attention.

Since I wasn’t getting any real response, I agreed to just have the prongs tightened. When I went back to pick up the ring and pay, I asked again if some sort of support could be added in the future if it came loose again. The lady simply repeated that the prongs had been tightened, clearly not understanding (or not caring about) what I was asking. At that point, I gave up—it was obvious they weren’t going to help.

Now, after paying $65, the stone has already come loose again. Overall, it was a frustrating experience and I wouldn’t recommend this place.

I’ve been a customer at Noura’s Jewellery for years, and every time I go—whether it’s for a repair or to buy something new—I always leave very satisfied. Their service is friendly, professional, and reliable. It’s a place I truly trust and highly recommend.

I went in for a ring repair (one prong cap was popped off my diamond ring) and expressed my stress of losing the diamond. The ladies in the store quoted me $350+ and told me they would have to take apart the entire ring for the repair. I ended up bringing it to another jeweller, who had a technician look at it, saying the ring was in great shape other than the prong cap - they did the repair for $90. I fear there may have been some price gouging here, taking advantage of my stress about losing the diamond.

The store is beautiful and the ladies are nice, but I would recommend shopping for repair quotes before settling.

I am very disappointed with the customer service at Peoples Jewelers. What should have been a joyful and celebratory experience with my engagement and wedding bands has instead been frustrating and disheartening from the start.

My first repair (diamond/claw issue) left me without my ring for almost two months, with no follow-up or communication. When I came in to check, I was talked down to and made to feel unheard. Every visit since has been negative—staff are unhelpful, unfriendly, and dismissive.

Most recently, my husband and I went to pick up my rings and were ignored completely. The associate sat with another customer trying on rings and posing in the mirror while we waited. Another associate even walked past us as she was leaving for the night and didn’t bother to acknowledge us or let us know someone would be with us soon. To make matters worse, I was asked to leave a Google review after this experience—something I found very inappropriate.

It’s especially disappointing because my first visit to Peoples was wonderful—warm, welcoming, and helpful. That level of service is what convinced my husband to purchase from Peoples in the first place. Sadly, every interaction since then has been the opposite.

My family has a long history of buying jewelry as part of our traditions, and I had hoped to continue that with Peoples. But at this point, I do not feel valued, cared for, or even acknowledged when I visit their stores. Until the customer experience improves, I cannot recommend Peoples Jewelers.

This is one of the best People’s Jewellers stores I’ve visited. The staff are very courteous, kind and helpful. Lina answered all my questions today, and Bobbi the manager went above and beyond to help me get what I was looking for. You can’t go wrong shopping here.

Although I had a wonderful experience with both Lina and Rose, I can’t say the same for the store manager; who ignored me one two separate occasions. Not sure why, but it wasn’t pleasant. I would have given 5 stars but the way the store manager made me feel, I had to minus two stars.

I would like to sincerely commend Sharleene from Ben Moss in Southcentre for her exceptional service during our search for wedding bands. From the beginning, Sharleene was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely focused on helping us find the perfect rings. She took the time to explain all our options without any pressure, and it was clear that her priority was our satisfaction, not just making a sale.

Although we ultimately purchased our rings elsewhere due to our budget considerations, Sharleene’s kindness stood out even more. Before the mall closed, she thoughtfully called to check in and see if we had found what we were looking for—a gesture that truly touched us. Walked in and I was greeted by a wonderful kind lady named Debbie. She was so helpful and knowledgeable. I had my eyes on a ring and she educated me about the gems and the ring. I then needed help with the perfect wedding band because it has a unique shape and she picked out the most beautiful wedding band. I've always liked Ben Moss and the service is amazing. Yesterday was the best service, Debbie took the time to make sure I liked the ring and you know what I cant stop looking at it, its so beautiful.

I brought my wedding ring here to have 1 claw repaired (only because I bought the ring at a Ben Moss) on a Wednesday. The lady I dealt with was pleasant, but the gold smith refused to fix the singular claw. They would only repair all 16 claws and the quote was ½ of what I paid for the ring. I told them I didn't want to continue and was told my ring would be returned to the store soon. The following Monday I was contacted and told my ring would be back in store tomorrow (Tuesday). I waited all day Tuesday to be contacted, but wasn't. At the end of the day I sent a message stating I would be coming to get my ring and got no reply. When I got to the store they said the gold smith didn't bring the ring back. They called the gold Smith and then informed me the ring would be returned on Friday. I waited all day Friday to be contacted and wasn't. I called at the end of the day and was told the ring was there. This would've been a 1 star review, but the lady I dealt with had been pleasant, so the second star is only because of her. Thanks for your assistance Pam.

Staff are friendly. The store manager/owner senior lady was very rude. I expressed my gratitude for making an exception to open the door 45 mins earlier as they were opening today at 1 pm. She did not accepted it. I said “you don’t have to be rude” she started yelling at me and slammed the door on me. I feel sorry for the staff that works for that lady. Worst customer service I have experienced ever!

Horrible customer service. We visited this store a few days ago and immediately felt uncomfortable due to the behaviour of one of the staff members. Rather than greeting or assisting us, he followed us very closely throughout the store, watching us intently the entire time as if we were going to steal. Since all the merchandise was behind glass, it was unclear why we were being monitored so closely. At first, I assumed he was trying to be available in case we needed help, but he never spoke or offered assistance—just hovered right next to us, staring us down and making us feel more like suspects than customers. What made the situation worse was that there were several other shoppers in the store that were left to browse freely. We appeared to be the only ones receiving this kind of attention, which felt especially uncomfortable given that we were the only people of color in the store. I don't want to jump to conclusions, but the disparity in treatment was hard to ignore. We had come in intending to buy a meaningful Mother's Day gift but ended up leaving due to how uncomfortable we felt with this worker. We ultimately spent over $6000 at Michael Hill on jewellery for my mother, where the staff was far more helpful and respectful. I can't recommend Charm Diamond Centres based on our experience. Overall, very poor customer service and an unwelcoming atmosphere. Save your money for somewhere else.

I bought my wedding diamond ring from Charms Diamond Center just two years ago. Unfortunately, due to an accident, my ring got damaged. I spent the entire day looking for it and finally found it late at night. I was devastated but comforted by the fact that I had been told my ring was fully insured (as long as I didn’t report it lost). This gave me peace of mind over the years and encouraged me to wear it daily, knowing I’d be covered in case something ever happened.

I traveled all the way back to Canada specifically to get the ring fixed through them, expecting them to honor the insurance they implied I had. But when I arrived, I was completely shocked by how I was treated.

First, they told me they don’t fix significant damage, only minor things like tightening tongs or resizing. That was the first blow. Then came the real kicker: they quoted me a price to repair the ring that was basically the same price I paid for the entire ring! When I expressed how ridiculous that was, they tried to guilt-trip me with, “Doesn’t this one have sentimental value for you? It should be priceless!”

Of course my wedding ring has sentimental value, but that doesn’t mean I should throw money away. I suggested keeping the damaged one for memory’s sake and buying a new one, and they made me feel like I was being unreasonable. It honestly felt manipulative.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, they offered to buy back my $4,000 valued ring for $200. I was speechless. That’s the value they put on something they themselves sold me just two years ago?

I left incredibly disappointed, hurt, and honestly a little betrayed. I trusted Charms with one of the most meaningful purchases of my life, but their customer service, their lack of accountability, and their cold, transactional attitude left me regretting that decision.

Be cautious if you’re thinking of buying from them. They seem supportive until something goes wrong, then you’re on your own.

Charm will always be my go to for jewellery. I have some of there Tuscan gold collection (male) and it gets compliments all the time, especially the chain. I visited this location as I recently purchased a piece online and the latch broke unfortunately. This location was able to help me process a return without my receipt and just an email for the order confirmation. I will certainly return 5 stars. Also prices are much more reasonable than People's, the item I purchased costs $170 more at People's jewllers for the same piece.

I purchased a Swavorski ornament from this location, and when I got home, I noticed it had a chip on one of the crystals in the center. I called the store right away and let them know, and that I would be in the next morning to exchange it. When I arrived the next morning I was greeted warmly and I had no issues explaining the issue whatsoever, as they already had another one ready for me and made it such an easy swap!! Needless to say I left there SUPER HAPPY AND IMPRESSED!!!!

Going through old pictures and remembered when they sized my ring and ruined my band!

When my fiancé bought the ring, the stones in the band was FLUSH! I had it resized and they gave my ring back with a little gap with one of the stones in the band.

The picture of the ring in the case, is BEFORE the adjustment and on my hand it AFTER, you can see the band does not look flush like when it was bought.

The staff was unsympathetic to the issue and unwilling to fix the ring.

It’s a small touch. But for a ring you’re going to wear for the rest of your life, it stands out every time I look at it!

So PSA…Get your ring from here… BUT DON’T LET THEM ADJUST ANYTHING. Take it somewhere else to get it sized! They charge you for sizing anyways, so do yourself a favour and take it somewhere where they’ll be accountable for any flaws they cause!

I visited this Michael Hill location with my boyfriend to look for an engagement ring. I was helped by a woman (I think it was Ayushi?) who greeted me right away with a smile. I thought we were off to a good start.

When I told the associate that I wanted a cathedral setting she paused and said “Really? Most people don’t like that”. When she showed me a 1.25 ct after I told her I wanted 1ct she said “it’ll grow on you”.

These kinds of comments happened a couple times throughout our interaction. I didn’t appreciate having someone brush off my preferences. It made me feel like my opinions and wants weren’t valid.

She did share some useful information about certain cuts of diamonds, and she didn’t have an attitude per se. I just wished she approached my preferences with curiosity instead of (what felt like) judgement.

The manager, however, was kind and took time to go over some details of ring design that would help me in making a decision moving forward. You can tell he’s dedicated to the craft and just wanted to inform. He’s the reason I gave the extra star.

My interaction with the associate has put me off of considering Michael Hill as an option for my ring search. For other pieces? Maybe. Not any time soon though.

Edit Dec 2024: So I made friends with Ayushi, the elegant Indian lady at the store. They were willing to help me find (see photo 2) the pair of earstuds I saw online.

They are affordable. I have gratitude towards them, sincerely. I will explain why.

I think they recently decreased the price from 179 to 129. I remembered last time I checked all the trio studs with different genstones were $179. You'll say I am psychotic. But I saw this one last time, more expensive (179) than my earring made of more gold. I looked at it for some time contemplating. Then yesterday that idea surfaced in my mind. Percival said all objects and events in our life are manifestations of our thoughts. Then I looked and they decreased the price.

Why I always have gratitude for affordable but real, exquisite jewelry I have found? First, gold plated fake stuff suck, the surface falls off after a few times wearing and you gotta toss them into garbage. They also cannot stand close scrutiny. Making you being looked down upon than without jewelry!

Second, in this superfluous and degenerate world we found ourselves in, you ARE INDEED being judged if you, not very wealth, want to experience a top restaurant or vacation resort, just for once in years, that's all you could afford or unless your destiny permits you to get rich.
So, life is all about experiencing! You have paid for your experience. You want to get the most out of it. You don't want to be neglected, looked down upon, un-prioritized, labeled an intruder to a world that you don't belong.

Our jewelry has to be delicately-made, not eye-catching but could stand all these stares, because they are made of real gold and gems! It should match with your style and how you perceive yourself, adds to your confidence rather than your worries (Does it look fake? Do I look creepy?), because real aristocrats don't show off.

Outstanding customer service. The store jewelers take into consideration your needs and preferences to heart. Building strong and long-lasting relationship with their customers is their number one priority. I’ve been shopping at Michael Hill for over two years and I’m always amazed by their sincerity, empathy, and overall joyfulness. You’ll never find a jewelry store with such kindhearted staff - and unique pieces!

Poor after-sale service. Lying to hold onto sales especially when you don’t have something suitable for exchange is embarrassing. Initially was looking to do an exchange for a longer chain which they didn’t have. I had no problem with that, however they wouldn’t process a refund stating a manager needs to be there for a code. After going to another location, I have learnt that was completely false.

Did a lot of shopping as its a festive season and there is huge sale on a lot of good items. But, what was outstanding at MHJ was the customer service and that warming and welcoming attitude is what one always receives there. Specially, at this time of year there was higher volume of staff present at the store and each and every person was super nice and welcoming. Sue (in the photo), helped me find what I liked and suited me best. I can't forget her impression of giving smiling gesture and smart suggestions.
They showed items without me having to wait, gave extra discount and also offered to clean all my rings (bought from MHJ and also those which were bought from different stores), in fact they complimented me on the rings which were bought from a different store and were gifted by my husband years ago. That shows genuine care that they have, which makes their customers be pleased with them and causes them to continue to come back to them. Kudos MHJ! Continue to keep that heart winning attitude towards your customers!!

My mother went in there and bought a necklace and earring set and five days later the chain broke she went back in to get a new chain, and the sales associate that was working had insinuated that she had pulled the chain and broke it. She ended up having to pay five dollars plus tax for a new chain when it should not have costed anything and it should’ve been a straight exchange. I work in customer service and the number one rule is not to make the customer feel like they’re doing anything wrong and in this case, this is what she did I will not be coming back here

Be careful when buying from here I bought an engagement ring and wasn’t sure of the correct size and instead of asking me to find out the correct size, they said it’s no worries they can resize it no problem. When I went to get it resized they told me it’ll be an additional 400-500 dollars.
They will say whatever you want to hear just to make a sale.

As a regular customer, I havent shopped here or at any michael hill stores in a year… Very disappointed with some of the staff at this location. I purchased a necklace (from another location) and a bracelet (from this location) and have gotten it repaired AT NO COST, because both of them have care plans. I have gotten them repaired at this location numerous times… and tell me why I went to the store and suddenly apparently I dont have a care plan when I told the lady you guys literally fixed it a couple months ago at no cost… she said she could repair them and would have the pieces inspected for a repair quote acting like the same location did not just fix it a few months ago. On that same note, as someone who LOVES jewelry, the quality is just not there anymore, it keeps breaking.

Very bad experience I bought sleeper earrings for my daughter and one got broken in just 2 months and despite of manufacturing warranty store manager refused to do anything. He said it’s broken n gold is fragile wow. Well they don’t say when u go to buy things and he told us to buy new pair can’t believe he expected me to waste more money on their store item. Google 18k, 21k, 22k Qatari Gold prices before going. Then convert it into CAD, you’ll know what you should buy the piece for.

Mukesh tried to sell me 18k gold for $170, when 22k and 24k are selling at $145 retail. The difference in prices between 18 and 22 is huge.

When I showed him privately the price and said I’ll give 25% on top for your profit, he ignored and didn’t respond. I said it quietly again and didnt respond.

Because he doesn’t want to sell to educated people that know what the real price is or else he wont be able to take advantage of your hard earned money

The goal of this is to help other people not get taken advantage of the money they work hard for, especially if the service is this horrible. If the service was better while charging that much, so be it but no it wasn’t.

I went for the first time to the store despite of couple of bad reviews.
*when I entered I asked to show me a ring for my wife, first one I chose and asked for the price.. he said approx $230.. then I asked him how much per gram but he declined to say that because as per him these are cheap products and they don’t ask price as per grams.. however I calculated 110 each gram. Then I asked price for a different one which was 3.12 gm.. before telling me the price he reminded me it will be more expensive (as if customers are fool and we don’t know more weight means more money expensive 🤣. Now he asked me $345. I asked if the gold is from India, but he said it’s from Turkey 22karate. I wanted to pay him with visa/debit but he said it will be 15% extra.
So within 15 minutes I bought the ring though owner tried to humiliate me that more weight means more money which I might not afford.
End of it 110 per gram + taxes(if you pay by debit) is quite high in Montreal. And parking is almost impossible to get nearby.
I will never visit, there are much more better places in Montreal to buy gold. The old man who is on counter really needs to be nicer 🙏

I had an absolutely terrible experience at this store. I came in to buy a gold ring for my mom, who lives far away. Since she couldn’t be there in person, we were talking on the phone to discuss options. I took a few pictures to send her so she could decide, and the staff immediately became aggressive, rudely questioning why I was taking pictures. They even told me that video calls are not allowed in their store, which makes no sense in this day and age.

The staff was extremely uncooperative and unprofessional throughout the visit. Instead of being understanding and helping me choose something special for my mom, they made me feel unwelcome. I’ve never encountered such hostility in a jewelry store before. If you’re looking for good customer service, avoid this place at all costs!

I’ve been to multiple jewelry stores in both Quebec and Ontario, I can guarantee you that Mukesh is the worst experience of it all. He gives you a quote for a custom ring that you specified the budget and when you go pick it up, he made the ring 2-3 times the price that he gave you as a quote. The young gentleman knows how to speak and deal with customers, but the old guys are terrible. They should let the young guy run the business and they should be in the back making the jewelry. We all trying to make money but there is an approach to everything, being rude to clients who want to buy jewelry and humiliating them for asking questions is terrible. This is a brown jewelry store in Downtown Montreal next to Angelica Jewellers I expected exceptional customer service and got disappointed with the worst customer experience ever.

Bought gold earrings from Michael Hill in September 2024. After only 2 months of wear, part of the clasp broke clean off. They didn't even break while I was taking them on or off, just snapped while I was still wearing them. Took them into the store on August 3, 2025 hoping they would be fixed under warranty since it was clearly a workmanship defect. However, despite advertising a 12 month warranty for all their products, I was told that the repair wouldn't be covered under warranty as the damage resulted from excessive use. We went back and forth but ultimately Michael Hill refused to honour the warranty, even though one of the employees working there admitted that the earrings were far too thin to be durable. I wouldn't recommend buying jewelry from them if you actually plan on wearing it. Given the poor craftsmanship, I guess I'm not surprised that they don't stand by their product. Absolute worst customer service I've ever received.

I have been a long time client and have purchased several items in the past from here and from South Centre, It would appear that the " Lifetime Warranty " is not all it has been advertised as. My wife had a ring taken in to them to fix missing stones (Diamonds) that had become dislodged from the ring claws and received it back, within 24 hours there were stones missing yet again.

She received a call that the representatives manager would have to charge to have the ring fixed this time, or my wife could come in and pick a different product in replacement for the faulty workmanship or lack there of.

However this is now the second item from Michael Hill that has failed and the problem with picking a different product is the inflationary price of today as opposed to what they offer for replacement.

So when you go in to look at potential products its an upsell to a like and kind but will usually set you out of pocket quite a bit. Stay away from the lifetime warranty as it does absolutely nothing to protect the item that you have purchased, shoddy workman / craftsmanship that ultimately will fail you and cost you more than what the warranty is even remotely worth. Buyer Beware for sure. Extremely Disappointed MH you should take better care of the clients that have supported you for a couple of decades.

I wish I could give zero stars. I took in a necklace for a warranty claim (that was only purchased back in December 2024), but the staff insisted that I needed to have extended warranty in order to fix the item. All items purchased from Michael Hill have a 12 month warranty from the purchase date so that doesn’t make sense. She then insulted the person who gifted it to me, who was present with me in the store, saying, “You should’ve got a better necklace.” Unprofessional and rude. Will not be purchasing from Michael Hill again.

Pretty jewelry but cheap. I was gifted a diamond pendant a year ago and have returned it for repair 3x …they want you to buy a stronger chain. Today I went to pick up my necklace after I was notified it was ready to be picked up.
Twice I’ve had no problems but this time the sales person who took the chain when I brought it in for repair and filled out paperwork -couldn’t find it.

Guess what he put the repair under my sisters name… not mine. It’s my necklace, why would you put a piece under someone else’s name??? The person who bought the necklace & policy as a gift ??? Strange this didn’t happen before the last two times… new way of serving people??? People make mistakes but rather than say sorry, here you go - just sign here and let me be on my way. HE TRIED TO explain WHY HE DID what he did 😳!!! It makes NO SENSE - Rudeness and unprofessional behaviour from 2 out of the 4 staff! Why are they involving themselves??? Be nice and just acknowledge the mistake and carry on.

If you buy jewelry here make sure you buy the a repair policy because you’ll need it but remember to put the policy under the person you buy the gift for to avoid this. As for me- Next time it snaps I’m buying a chain from another company.
