Disappointed for sure. Very disorganized
I have purchased flowers from Flower Chix before and heard good things regarding events so booked a meeting regarding a wedding and had a inspiration board prepared, had the meeting, was told I would receive the quote which due to a few requests had to change a few things back and forth. Was told a month before the date would have a 2nd meeting to confirm selections and booking and pickup details- no communications at all got a call few days after a month out asking for payment.
When we called back regarding payment they had no idea how much was remaining.

I had a feeling that the flowers would come not as I requested, so asked for them to confirm and or send pictures- I was told they don’t really do that and assured me that they would be beautiful.

As soon as the flowers were picked up by a family member and delivered to me they were exactly as I expected- wrong not the way I asked.

I wanted primarily wax flowers with one of the approved white flowers with some greens that I approved- light- with wax flowers being my favourite flower therefore the main.

Were the flowers lovely yes, was it what I asked for no, the bouquet was very heavy.

We were having a very small ceremony. This was not a big event.

Very disappointed. When I complained the response was- we will talk to the designer. And that was the last communication we received.

For weddings you expect more than a regular event. And it didn’t happen at all.

I have been using Flower Chix for several years now and they have NEVER let me down! Their designs are always fresh and beautifully arranged and I never have to worry about it arriving when scheduled. Even during storms or heavy snowfalls. I’m so grateful to have discovered Flower Chix, it makes sending cheer from Toronto to my family and friends in Calgary a real pleasure.

Scheduled a consult for wedding flowers. They called me on a different day at a different time than the time I booked. She was not the least bit enthusiastic about my inquiry. Phone call took less than 2 minutes, which I am now thankful I didn’t waste my time. Told me they would send me a quote and never heard back. Not sure how they have any customers with this type of communication. Went with a local flower farm instead. For the best I suppose!

This past weekend, I had the absolute privilege of working as a wedding decorator in Canmore, and I couldn’t have been more thrilled with the support I received from Flower Chix. From start to finish, they went above and beyond to make the event not just beautiful but seamless in every way.

Their attention to detail was second to none. The backing for the gazebo swag was flawlessly crafted, and the flower pieces added the perfect touch of elegance to the ceremony space. We had a fantastic experience working with Gia for our wedding flowers. She was lovely to talk to in person and created beautiful bouquets and boutonnières that exceeded our expectations. We can’t recommend Gia enough!

It was a pleasure dealing with Gia! We were travelling to Alberta for our wedding, and wouldn’t have time to meet Gia in person. Thankfully, she was excellent at communicating via email. Good service, flowers, and wrapping.

I had a wonderful experience here. The flowers are fresh, high quality and there’s a good assortment of flowers and colours. They are very talented at putting arrangements together. I needed flowers last minute, and walked in and asked for a $35 mason jar arrangement. They put together this beautiful one in a few minutes. They also helped me wrap it as it was a gift. The store also has soap, some makeup and other assorted goods.

I always go to Flower Culture for my flowers! Every arrangement made is beautiful and I am always happy with the price. So much care goes into the flowers and making sure their customers are happy. A great small business to support!

I bought a bouquet for my daughter’s graduation, and I was so impressed with the service. The owner was incredibly kind and made me feel very welcome. She even arranged the bouquet with flowers that were more valuable than what I paid for, which I really appreciated. It was my first visit, but I’m sure I’ll be coming back again!

I was delivered these flowers in the picture for my birthday 15 days ago from family who chose a place online, they chose amazingly because this bouquet is still going strong. I buy myself flowers constantly because I love having flowers in my home, this place is now the only one I will go to as I have never had a bouquet last this long in my life. The busy kids boxes are absolutely amazing - and a very unique alternative to flowers for kids! I very much appreciated Becky following up to ensure they packed age-appropriate and customized favorites. I ordered with less than 24-hours to go, and they delivered an amazing bundle that was a huge hit! Absolutely recommend.

I needed to send a smile to relatives in Calgary. The folx at Flower Gallery were helpful and so kind. I asked for a happy and bright arrangement, and they did wonderful work, as the recipient of the flowers was so happy.

The woman I spoke with at Flower Gallery broke down all the costs and made ordering from another city very easy. The flowers were delivered earlier than I anticipated, too!

I ordered a bouquet that is designed by them. They sent me a picture of it and it is gorgeous! I love that a picture is sent, because I always want to see what the flowers look like, but it feels awkward to ask for a photo from the person that I’m sending it to.

And look at it! This is the $75, no delivery fee. Great value and service!

I am from Vancouver and we went to a trip to see Stampede in Calgary. It was my friend’s anniversary and we would like to surprise them so i looked for a flower shop nearby and just found this amazing flower shop here! The owner is really nice, kind and professional. It was a surprise event so they just prepared the bouquet in only 15 minutes and it was so beautiful! I love the bouquet they made for me. It was amazing and the price is good too. I rented a flower arch from Flower Walls YYC for my wedding and loved the product and experience! We had an excellent experience working with Food Works for our wedding, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. We got married last weekend and had the privilege of working with Food Works and their incredible team for catering. Firstly, communication with their team was incredibly timely and efficient. They are so knowledgeable and made things extremely easy for us while planning a wedding. For our initial tasting, they had the cutest little room set up like a date night for us to enjoy some wine and taste the food to see what we liked (which was everything!). The service on that night alone was amazing. On our wedding day, we were even more impressed. Not only was the service amazing, but the food was on another level. My husband and I were being told all night how amazing the food was; even the picky-eater kids ate lots! Additionally, they were so accommodating for any food allergies. We cannot recommend Food Works enough for any event needing a caterer. Thank you to Garret and the Food Works team for making our special day even more special - you guys were the absolute best!!

Garret and his team were amazing! Communications was open, easy and responsive. He was always open to calls and questions we had throughout the process.
We did a taste testing well before our wedding and it was top notch.
Our venue didn’t have its own cooking facilities and they made everything work, it was amazing they were able to provide such great service and food to a venue just outside Canmore town site. We were impressed with the service on the day of and of course the food, drool worthy. If we were to host another big event we will for sure be looking towards Food Works again!

Our wedding food was absolutely fantastic thanks to Garret and the team at Food Works Craft Catering! Our guests really were blown away by not only the food but the service as well! From Handmade Bao Buns & Tater Tots for our Late Night Snack to Chicken Supreme stuffed with Wild Mushrooms & Leeks, our Menu was spectacular start to finish.

Garret really went above and beyond throughout the whole planning process as well, from creating our tailored menu to working out the day of details, Garret made sure everything was taken care of so the day could flow smoothly! Not to mention Garret and his team stepped up to assist wherever we needed extra hands from Bar Service to cake cutting and serving our desserts, the Food Works team really made our event go off without a hitch! Cannot reccomend this catering team enough!

WE LOVE FOOD WORKS! Chef Garret & Food Works catered our evening, cocktail-style wedding and we could not have been happier with their work. Garret collaborated with us to create an elegant & modern Italian-inspired menu of passed canapés, small plates, desserts, and late-night snacks. The menu was catered to our taste and included items that were suited to everyone in the crowd. We and our guests were treated to absolutely delicious food, literally everyone loved & raved about it! Chef Garret & the team at Food Works are talented, professional, flexible, and genuinely really kind & cool people who are really fun! I can’t wait to work with them in the future and would absolutely recommend Food Works for any and all of your catering needs. Photos are some of the items included in our wedding menu that we tasted prior to the event - mouthwatering.

VIP was a let down, broken chairs and table very rickety, rattan sofa all broken and flat cushions.

Most importantly two portaloos! Not like pub in the park where you are right by the stage and the toilets are proper nice cabin ones.

The guy who maintained the toilet is nice and he said they chose these not the cabin ones !

Juice is watered down so tasteless. No champagne either.

Staff are very friendly but it’s not worth the extra unfortunately. We paid a lot extra as we came with our kids. Not worth the cost sadly for VIP.

Remove the dull fake flowers on the tent ropes they look crap.

Such a unique dining experience! We had such a good time in the domes. The seafood tower was delicious, filled with shrimp, lobster, clams, crab and scallops. Probably the best part of the meal! I also ordered the seafood course, it wasn’t mind blowing. The salmon was very dry. Service was rushed a bit but understandable since we only had two hours to dine.

Had an amazing experience with foodies in the park at the Bow Valley Ranch. Great food and superb service rounded out an incredible evening. Our waiter Eddie stepped up and made our evening very enjoyable. Highly recommend this experience for a date night or a dinner with friends.

Best dining experience to date. Cost over $1000 for 6 people and worth every penny. Would recommend.

June 2021- nice concept but, luke warm food and rushed to leave once we had just finished desert.
But, after paying almost $700 for a dinner for 4, we didn't read that they add their own gratuity ($100), just be aware as they do not remind people.

I had Forever Cakes create my wedding cake. Maria was absolutely fantastic! She is so sweet. I sent her a very specific design and she knocked it out of the PARK! Gorgeous cake. It was exactly how I wished it would look. It’s a very specific design and she managed to get it PERFECT. She did such an amazing job on it. Fondant wasn’t too thick, the cake was moist with layers of custard. Lots of comments on our cake! She delivered it to my reception location hassle free. And price was incredibly fair - Especially for droving this cake out to Canmore. THANK YOU so much!

Marcia's talent amazes me. I ordered a Fortnite cake for my sons birthday and a Baby Shark cake for my daughters birthday and they both have truly blown me away. The passion and love Marcia puts in to each cake is absolutely amazing and shines through! Marcia's creativity is so wonderful, she designed both cakes and cake pops and what an amazing job she did!!!

We will only be ordering our cakes from forever cakes as they are absolutely gorgeous and delicious.

I ordered a cake for my Dad's 70th birthday this past weekend and it was absolutely perfect! The cake looked exactly like the picture I emailed to Marcia and everyone loved the taste and texture of the cake. It was a big hit! Thank you again!

I am absolutely amazed at how perfectly my cake turned out. I had reached out to Marcia and worked with her to create my dream cake for my Halloween wedding. I am from out of province and had no ability to do a tasting or a face to face meet. I had only seen her portfolio and booked solely off of that and her ratings. I WAS AMAZED. It was identical to my reference pictures. I chose a two tier cake with two different flavored tiers, both were delicious and beautifully done. I am so impressed and would recommend her to everyone.

I needed to order 3 sprays for a funeral that I could not attend and each spray needed ribbons with specific messages in Vietnamese. I called the shop with my requests and Aime was amazing. Correspondence was fast, diligent and the sprays turned out beautifully.

Forget Me Bot has been our florist for many years. We order flowers and bouquets for different occasions, from our own wedding to special days to casual decorative pieces for our home to funeral baskets. The flowers are always the best of quality and the arrangements look and smell amazing. In addition, service is another aspect to highlight - not only do they have friendly and attentive staff when we place our orders, via phone or in person, they always follow up by a message or a phone call to ensure we are satisfy with our orders. It has been YEARS since I met a florist in downtown Calgary who is as nice and welcoming as Amy! I’ve been to the best shops in the city and found many florists to have a snippy, tired, unapologetic attitude (despite the arrangements being good quality, exotic and expensive). But this owner was so so helpful in letting me pick out stems and she put them together in a beautiful simple arrangement right on the spot. And this was right before Mother’s Day so it speaks volumes that she was so friendly despite the hectic time of year for her shop.

Will 100% come back here in the future because of the service, the flowers were very fresh, she put the arrangement together very quickly, and it was exactly what I was looking for.

I've used many caterers in Calgary....Jen actually took the time to meet with me first to view our massive spaces that were to be catered that evening, she understood the challenges and she was proactive in creating a plan.
She came up with a menu that everyone gave the most impressive feedback on, and helped me to plan our dealerships with food stations to keep people touring the spaces. Their charcuterie cart was a HUGE hit, the pizza forno was unbelievable, and their beef sliders and duck dumplings - mouth watering! She worked with my other vendors (beer trucks, wine providers, etc.) to execute the most seamless event for over 425 guests.
They even accommodated, fully ordered, and served a last minute switch out of hi-balls to canned cocktails, sourced locally, (which is important to our business).
Their service staff is unbeatable and go above and beyond. I will definitely use Fork + Farm again in the future and recommend them for any event. Jen will take the care to develop the best menu to impress your guests and her and her staff are unbeatable.

TL;DR - Ruined a wedding, Fork + Farm blamed the groom.

We hired Fork and Farm for a wedding last month, heard nothing but good things, guests were so excited for the food. We double and triple checked with the company making sure there was enough for 80 people, we did not have a budget, and we just gave them a credit card to bill.

Day of the wedding, all the food was still wrapped in plastic, and then everyone from fork and farm left, long before the reception started. That was interesting, but we thought nothing of it. As we unwrap everything and tables start lining up, we quickly realize there is not enough food for everyone. (Keep in mind, we only had 70 people at the wedding, we ordered for 80.)

We tried to call them. Multiple times, no answer, no help day of. So we had to order pizza for everyone. Some people had to leave early not getting ANY FOOD! If you're an immigrant, like my family is, that's a huge deal. Not good.

We called fork and farm multiple times, hearing different stories about how they mixed up the order, with 0 accountability, 0 remorse, and tons of throwing it back in our faces.

Here's what the groom had to say:

"There was no accountability from them. They claimed we had said early on that the order was for a lawn bowling event and a standing affair, which was never the case. From the start, I told the coordinator it was for our wedding reception, and she even congratulated us, so it was very clear. They also kept saying that because we didn’t have it in writing that it was a reception, there was no proof. The entire order was placed over the phone, and every time I spoke with her it was by phone. Before placing the order, I specifically asked if the amount would be enough for multiple rounds of food for 80–90 people. She reassured me that it would be. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case, and we ran out of food. In hindsight, it was my mistake to put full trust in her assurances without written confirmation, but I was relying on her professional guidance."

Disgusting behavior, yes I'm talking to you now Fork and Farm. You absolutely should be ashamed of yourselves. If you're reading this. Stay away!!!

Fork and Farm catered our wedding in Golden, BC and nothing could have been better. From the get go, the planning was fun, custom, and the communication was always quick and clear. Because our wedding venue didn't have an onsite kitchen, we needed a company with a mobile kitchen and we are so grateful we found F+F. The staff were kind, professional, and weeks later all of our guests are talking about how it was the best wedding food they have ever had! We did a plated dinner and were able to offer our guests three options that were all raved about. They also did 4 passed canapés during our cocktail hour and made sure that we had some packaged up for us during our photos so we didn't go hungry (so important on your wedding day)!! Thank you to Laura and team for everything, you made our day so special.

Fork + Farm catered our wedding on July 10, 2021, and they were AMAZING!! Nicole and the team were awesome to work with from the first day we met. From the initial meeting, the team created an experience we’ll never forget. The team is professional, accommodating, helpful, and go above and beyond to create a wonderful and unforgettable experience. 😊

The food, service and presentation were outstanding and exceeded our expectations. Our guests are still raving about the food and even said it was the BEST food they've ever had at a wedding. Fork + Farm also made our wedding cake, and not only did it taste delicious, but it looked beautiful. The bartenders and catering staff were also so much fun and really added to the atmosphere.

We are so happy with how everything turned out and would highly recommend Fork + Farm. Thank you so much to Nicole and the Fork + Farm team for the top-notch service, being part of our special day, and going above and beyond to make it amazing! 😊

This hotel was simply in need of a little updating. There needs to be a sign indicating where to scan your card to get into the parking garage because many people would drive down and have to back up the little hill looking for it. The room walls are incredibly thin so having to wake up with the neighbors wake up calls was not so fun. My main complaint would be that the beds are extremely uncomfortable and need replacing. The staff was very friendly and always helpful. Decent breakfasts in the morning and the grounds were well kept. I wouldn't come back to this location but at least we tried it.

Dirty dirty dirty, our mattress cover has stains and when we asked house keeping to change the bedding they delivered us bedding to change ourselves. Sauce spill all over the floor that had not been cleaned. Throughout the hotel garbage was not touched over a matter of days in main areas. The pool had a yellow brown ring all around it from not being properly cleaned and the decks are black. Sandy silt in the bottom.

We asked for another bottle of water and were told the allotment is one per room per stay. Hotel charged the credit card for the stay on check in and not check out. Parking was difficult to find and the front desk was less than helpful.

Nice place, but DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU HAVE YOUNG KIDS! They have absolutely no channels on the television with cartoons and no options for you to put cartoons on unless you rent a movie from them for $15 or more! Pretty sure this is the only hotel I have ever stayed in that did not have television channels available for young children. They clearly only prefer adults or older children staying in their hotel.

I really love this place place. Starting off the rooms were very clean, and the a/c was great. The service was remarkable as when we asked for a different room with views to Calgary downtown and top floor they complied and gave us a great room. This place is near the airport not too far from downtown and has everything you need including a big mall.

The room was clean and decent for the price. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was very quiet. On the other hand, the staff was cold and seemed really disconnected and not very helpful. Also, you’re kind of out in the concrete jungle wasteland near the airport where you pretty much need to Uber everywhere. I liked the hotel. The parking area was very dirty, and the staff was underwhelming to recap.

Good value. Good location. Staff were fabulous. Comfy beds. Loved the coffee in the lobby. We had fun with the waterside/pool. Rooms are dated but could be fixed with a coat of paint and better lighting. (We had a suite on ground floor). We would stay here again.

Comfortable, Convenient Stay at Four Points Calgary West

I recently stayed at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel & Suites Calgary West and had a very positive experience. The hotel is conveniently located for both business and leisure—easy access to major roads and a short drive to downtown Calgary and local attractions. Parking was straightforward and inexpensive, which is a big plus for road-trippers.

Check-in was quick and the front-desk staff were friendly and professional. My suite was spacious, clean, and well-appointed with a comfortable bed, a separate seating area, and a practical workspace. The bathroom was modern and well-maintained. Housekeeping did a reliable job each day.

The hotel’s amenities are solid for the price point: I appreciated the on-site fitness centre (adequate equipment and clean), indoor pool and hot tub (well-kept), and the lobby bar/restaurant which offered decent meals and convenient late-evening options. Complimentary Wi‑Fi was reliable for email, streaming, and video calls.

Noise levels were reasonable my room felt quiet and had good blackout curtains for restful sleep. Service throughout the hotel was courteous and responsive; staff were helpful with local directions and recommendations.

A few minor notes: breakfast options were fine but somewhat limited on busy mornings, and some decor in public areas could use a refresh to feel more contemporary. Overall, though, the hotel delivers strong value, comfort, and consistent service.

Recommendation: Four Points Calgary West is a dependable choice for travelers wanting comfortable suites, good facilities, and a convenient location without a premium price. I would stay here again.

Great hotel! Yes the rooms are a little dated like some reviews have said, ours was still in good condition and kept very clean. The breakfast was good and housekeeping was great. The bed was very comfortable and the patio was very nice. The tv didn’t have a lot of channels, but we didn’t really care about that. We would definitely stay here again!

My family and I stayed at the Four Points Hotel in Calgary from August 1st to August 4th. Unfortunately, our check-in experience was unpleasant due to a receptionist who was rude and dismissive of our accent, even going so far as to ask who spoke the “best English.” This was very upsetting.

However, when I raised the issue with the manager, Lorie, she was incredibly understanding, compassionate, and professional. She took the situation seriously, reassured us that racism is not tolerated, and made sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. She even sent a thoughtful basket of snacks and arranged breakfast for the next day, which meant a lot to us after such a difficult moment.

While the initial experience was disappointing, I am deeply grateful for Lorie’s kindness and excellent customer service. She truly turned our stay around.

The cleanliness of the rooms were as expected, although the service could’ve been better. My family and I were checked in on the second floor right by the hotel management office. My kids and I could hear the vulgar language and inappropriate comments from a white woman who works at the hotel. Leaving this review, in hopes that higher ups of the hotel can handle people in the work space who act in such a way.

We are beyond happy with our choice of using Foxglove for our wedding florals. We worked with Megan, and she understood our vision immediately. Her communication was a highlight, and she was able to easily adapt to any changes that were needed.

The arrangements looked incredible in person, and photographed beautifully. We would highly recommend Foxglove to anyone, especially if florals are a priority for your wedding!

We used Foxglove Studios for our wedding day flowers and we could not be happier. Tasha completely nailed the vision that I was going for and had a unique approach to her arrangements while bringing in my wants. The floral hedge used for our ceremony was exactly what we pictured. My bouquet and my bridesmaids bouquets were beautiful and fresh. The centre pieces complimented the room perfectly! The team at Foxglove was kind, professional, and had great communication!

You cannot work with a more amazing floral company! I worked with Lauren, and she did the most amazing job organizing, planning, and making my wedding vision come true. She was exceptionally accommodating, extremely flexible, and was SO quick to answer all of my questions with extraordinary detail. Their arrangements speak for themselves, they are simply stunning! I could not have asked for flowers any more beautiful; they were perfect. Highly, and will indefinitely, recommend to any bride looking for beautiful florals.

I have been talking to Megan for months - kind, patient and talented is an understatement! She was able to provide my dream proposal and patiently worked with me while I changed themes, modified my budget and ask a million questions. Our wedding is in a month and we are so excited to see the flowers!!

We recently used Foxglove Studio for our August Wedding and I can't rave about them enough. From our first meeting I knew Lauren and Tash had our best interests at heart and were just as excited as me to create something unique and beautiful for our wedding.

They were thorough, answered all of my questions and provided a stunning, detailed proposal that was not only useful for me, but for other vendors as well to make sure everything was tied together.

Our florals were stunning, and made all of my wedding floral dreams come true. I wanted something less traditional, and Foxglove delivered in the most beautiful way. I would recommend them 100 times over! Thank you Lauren and Tash!

Dave and Brenda’s home is a home away from home. We had an unexpected trip to Calgary due to my sisters health problems and they accommodated my mom and I do stay while she was in the hospital. Brenda and Dave’s guest house offered us an affordable option to stay in the city, especially during stampede week the prices of hotels were astronomical. They were friendly, kind, and offered a comfortable hospitality you won’t find at any other hotel or accommodation. They also offer a nice service of driving to and from the hospital which is great if you don’t have a vehicle or are uncomfortable driving in the big city. Their guest house allowed us to have one less thing to worry about while my sister was recovering. Overall this was a 5 star experience for both mom and I and we would definitely recommend it to anyone with loved ones at the hospital.

The Frames family are wonderful people who open their home to you during your time in need. They are very accommodating and really go out of their way to make you feel at home. Their home is very clean and comfortable. Definitely recommend staying with them in the future. Location is good as well. Close to restaurants and major roads in Calgary. The neighborhood is mature, beautiful and quiet.

The perfect refuge for out-of-towners who need to be with family members in NW Calgary hospitals. In May we needed to drive from the Edmonton area to rural southern Alberta to pick up family and then travel north to Calgary to be with our father/father-in-law who had major surgery scheduled at the Foothills Hospital.

We needed somewhere in Calgary for an extended stay — a comfortable place for downtime after days spent at the hospital. It's incredible that this place exists and that Brenda and Dave Frame continually open their own home for exactly this purpose and so generously support all their guests. The cost is very reasonable and their support to all they welcome, is priceless. The guesthouse is very close to Foothills hospital. We needed two bedrooms at first, and later on, just one for our mom mother/in-law when we needed to return home. We knew she would be well taken care of. She had someone to talk to at the end of a stressful day, and someone to take her to the hospital and back. A wonderful hot, made-to-order breakfast was enjoyed at the Frames' very own kitchen table. The bedrooms, dedicated guest bathroom and kitchen are all very clean and well-appointed with lots of comfort items.There is plenty of room to park a vehicle off the street. A good-sized half-fridge in the house is reserved for guests to store what they need. Companionship and even a guided walk around the Dalhousie neighborhood was very much appreciated. We were very fortunate to get to know such good people in the time we had there. Highly recommend to any out-of-town adult family members who need to be close to NW hospitals in Calgary, especially if you are unfamiliar or uncomfortable driving in the city and have to find your way in and out of the large hospital complexes. Brenda and Dave know how to provide a calming environment. We are so grateful to them.

Dave & Brenda are very hospitable and gracious people, to open up their house to a newly discharged transplanted patient. We had access to the whole house yet were able to have the privacy we needed to focus on my husbands healing. That being said, the breakfasts were amazing quality, and served when you needed it. I truly believe this wholesome food aided in the recovery of my husband. It was clean and tidy, and we even had a place to store our own food. They also provide a shuttle service to and from the hospital, if you need to have follow ups.The neighbourhood is quiet, and we highly recommend this place, as it checked all the boxes.

Perfect, stress free experience, comfortable home setting, and a breakfast of your choice. If you're older, or not familiar with Calgary, or not wanting to drive in the winter, and already anxious about an upcoming hospitalization, the Frames will drive you to and from Foothills Hospital every day. It's the most accommodating B n B experience I've ever had.
