I bought both a proposal ring for my fiancee (now my wife) and our wedding bands at Vena Nova, and honestly, I couldn’t be happier. I had checked out almost every diamond store in Calgary and was getting pretty discouraged, but then I found Vena Nova. They had full customization option, lots of existing design, fair prices — everything just clicked. (It definitely helped that my wife instantly fell for one of their designs)

Working with Kendice was amazing too. She made the whole process super easy and stress-free. I even accidentally messaged her outside of her work hours once, and she still replied so kindly — I was really thankful for that.

Absolutely brutal service.

Walked in to look at wedding bands. Barely an acknowledgement to our existence. As we look at the cases, pointing at certain ones that catch our eye, still nothing from the associate. In walks a loud, brash woman and the associate helps her immediately. Continuing to ignore us, not even an "I'm sorry, I'll be right with you". Continue standing around for 10 minutes and still no acknowledgement we exist, we walk out still to nothing from the associate.

My fiance was excited to try on and find her dream ring, but we will be taking our business elsewhere to a shop that bothers to treat us like humans.

I guess if you want service here, walk in and act like the most annoying person on earth. Incredibly disappointing.

We recently hosted our engagement party here and couldn’t be happier with the experience! The location is absolutely beautiful, with both indoor and outdoor space that makes it perfect for any type of celebration. The hall is spacious with modern touches, and the décor was stunning — exactly what we envisioned.

The service was amazing from start to finish. The team went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly, and our guests were well taken care of. There was plenty of space for everyone to mingle, dine, and enjoy the evening comfortably.

Overall, everything exceeded our expectations. We had zero issues and would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for the perfect spot to host a special event.

Yesterday they did catering for my House warming party . Food was more than amazing.The presentation just blew us away. The staff went above and beyond. All of the guest were praising the food so much . A big Thank you for making a special occasion even better. I will recommend them to all .

Venice banquet hall made our daughter's first birthday party an absolute dream come true! The venue was stunning, with modern facilities and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The hall itself was beautifully decorated and spacious, perfect for accommodating all of our guests comfortably. The hall could accommodate soft play and candy cart setup for kids which kept them engaged and entertained the whole time The event coordinator Archit was a pleasure to work with, ensuring that every aspect of the party ran smoothly from start to finish.The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive.
The party packages offered were versatile and catered to our needs perfectly. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of, allowing us to relax and enjoy the celebration. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue.. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, pleasing both the children and the adults. Overall, the level of service and attention to detail exceeded our expectations. We received countless compliments from our guests about the wonderful experience. We hosted my sister’s wedding reception at Venice Banquet Hall and it was a great experience. The staff were excellent with their service and very professional. The venue is spacious with a nice sized dance floor. The decor was very well done. The guests commented on how much they enjoyed the food as well. The ras malai recipe needs to be updated to something better. Overall, a very pleasant experience, thank you!

My Husband and I were married here on February 1 and I cannot express how amazing of an experience we had. Everyone was so kind, every detail was perfect, communication was fantastic, and everyone made sure that my Husband and I were taken care of every step of the way.

Everyone we interacted with was amazing and it makes my heart so happy we had such a fantastic group behind us during our day. We used many of the recommended vendors and WOW they do not joke around. On top of Venue 308 we had spectacular vendors and our day was seamless.

We had our wedding at Venue 308 on August 17 and both wanted to post a review because our experience was so, so excellent. In addition to being a beautiful space, this venue boasts a team of event professionals who went above and beyond to make our day perfect. Communication leading up to the day was seamless and prompt, with lots of opportunities to amend our contract along the way (adding and removing services as our plan evolved). We opted to include month-of coordination through the venue, provided by Sarah Schmidt, who was an angel and a pro and a delight to coordinate with. She made the day itself run so smoothly that we could just enjoy ourselves knowing she had things handled behind the scenes. Everyone we interacted with up to and on the day was helpful, kind, and knowledgable (so many thanks to Chris, Amanda, Andrea, Seb, and Caro) - they could have done half as much as they did and still would have fulfilled the terms of the contract. The Venue offers a list of recommended vendors (so helpful!) but does not penalize you if you choose others (much appreciated!), in addition to offering an in-house decor package rental that is worth it if you use as much of their stuff as possible.
Thank you to the team for everything, we had the best time and appreciated every kindness along the way.

We had our wedding at Venue308 a few weekends ago, and it was incredible! The space is beautiful, and the extra room we rented for the cocktail hour was perfect for the 85 guests we had. The staff was amazing, from the months leading up to the actual day. Our day of coordinator, Jody, did an absolutely amazing job! She was so great to work with, covered all the bases and made sure everything came together perfectly! Our 50 person wedding reception at Venue308 last summer was a dream. When I first walked through the venue I immediately knew it was the venue for us. It is so beautiful and unique in the details & incredibly well thought out spaces.

The bridal and groom suite are just so cool and made for such a great getting ready process. I love that they’re on different floors of the venue so we could both be there without seeing each other.

The planning process was made easy by the streamlined systems Venue308 has in place. I loved using the digital floor plan to plan where all the decor and seating would go. The ability to use the venue’s decor was a major selling point for me as it eliminated needing to add in an additional vendor.

All of the staff we worked with over the lengthy planning process were incredibly accommodating and flexible - even with multiple date changes due to COVID. We felt so taken care of and it really changed the expectations we had for customer service from other vendors!

Our wedding day was perfect in this stunning space, all of our guests just loved it. I will forever recommend this venue to everyone.

I had my wedding a couple weeks ago and I just wanted to take a moment to shout out the entire team at Venue 308, it is truly a beautiful space.
One of the features that sold it for us is there is getting ready areas for both bride and groom within the same building. You can have your ceremony and reception there, which makes it so much easier for everyone! They also offer a decor package at a fixed price, and you’re able to use anything from their inventory. This was so helpful cause they have basically everything you need, from arches, to variety of table numbers, to tea light candles its very extensive and honestly worth it! We only had to use minimal items of our own.
The entire team at the venue is so awesome, and offers exceptional service! They were very helpful, and was there with me every step in the planning process. They also just opened up a new event space right beside this venue and we were able to rent it for photo’s at a very reasonable rate, it would also make a great cocktail area. They truly think of every detail here, and we can’t recommend them enough! We are looking for a reason to book another event here cause it was the best day ever!

As an event planner for a non-profit, working with Vibe Event Rentals was a fantastic experience. From working with Sadie, who was able to respond all my requests and updates in a timely manner, to the onsite team that set up our tent and chairs well before the event - the team took a massive load off my plate.

It was also so helpful to our team or staff/volunteers that we did not need to tear down tables/chairs - Vibe Rentals handled all those details for us.

I would highly recommend and will certainly be using them for further events!

Quick and professional service on short notice and very little instructions from us. This team knows how to read between the lines and make valid suggestions to get the job done. Very easy to deal with and quality items on site. I was very impressed with the washroom trailer for our event and the pricing for all items!

Sadie and her team were amazing they made the wedding day perfect going through everything with us to make sure we had everything we needed. As the event was in the hay field being organized was key to the events success!

We rented tents for our wedding from this company and they were just phenomenal to work with. From planning to delivery to pick up they were patient, helpful, and just all around a delightful experience. Anything we needed even after the initial delivery was handled quickly and professionally. The weather for the wedding was absolutely atrocious but the quality and the security of the tents made the experience so wonderful not only for us but for all of our guests as well.

Working with Party Rental Depot was truly a delight. Sadie was very helpful and accommodated ever request we made with ease. The tent, bathrooms, dance floors, tables, chairs, EVERYTHING arrived on time, even ahead of schedule and went up beautifully. The team was friendly. The take down was efficient, and so nice not to have to complete ourselves after our big event. I liked that everything was available to rent from 1 vendor, and that they handled everything. Very pleased with the overall experience.

I communicated with Vivian a few months before my son’s 1st birthday and I showed her some inspo pictures of the cake I wanted as he had a superhero theme. I also requested some cupcakes that were eggless due to an allergy. She exceeded my expectations!!!

No words to express the amazing cake baked by Virginia for my daughter’s bday early this month in July . We requested Dinosaur theme based cake and the presentation blew everybody mind . (Pics attached). Both taste and quantity was equally good . I have found my go to cake shop for life …

Just stumbled upon this gem of a store with my husband during our last few days in Calgary. We popped in on a whim after a long day outdoors, not even knowing what to expect. The lady at the front was so friendly and knew all about the stuff they had. It’s the perfect place to find a unique gift, a special rug, or a cool kitchen item. And I love that it’s non-profit and run by volunteers – such a great vibe!

I buy all my coffee here.
Also a great place for Christmas, birthday, wedding gifts, etc since the items are unique and from around the world. Best of all, they are Fair Trade! The Peace by Chocolate bars from the Maritimes have very appropriate sayings - LOVE, Happy Birthday, Congratulations, etc and one of the latest, Elbows Up!

My family and I usually go to the studio to paint and enjoy a few drinks. For the first time we ordered 5 paint kits and did them at home last night. The kits they put together literally have everything in them you’ll need other than the easel. I was incredibly impressed that for the price they supply literally everything. Even paper to put down on your table to protect it. We had an absolutely wonderful time! It’s nice to go to the studio as an evening out but I can’t say enough about how much fun we had staying home this time and painting and sipping at home. Will do it again for sure!!!!

My wife and I came here tonight to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary and we had a fantastic time! I’m certainly not that artistic and wasn’t sure what to expect but I have to say I was extremely happy with our evening. The host and artist were very friendly and supportive throughout the evening. I’d highly recommend coming here for anything from a night out with friends to celebrating a birthday or anniversary or just a great date night! 5 stars all around!

Found Violet & Co on Google as I was looking for an arrangement suitable to gift a man. They had 5 stars, saw many options on their website and decided to go in since I didn't need delivery. Met with Carmen who gave lovely energy as soon as I walked through the door, and put together the perfect bouquet & vase arrangement for me.

First time buying flowers here and went with their seasonal bouquet, it was perfect! I kind of laughed and felt bad when I saw the hand written card - I thought it would be printed from a printer or something when I saw the option on the website, so I wrote my card message in Korean, only to see it handwritten on the card when it was delivered. Perfect handwriting for it, so huge compliments to whoever wrote it, especially if they don't speak or write Korean 😂

I went to Violet & Co on 3 days before a funeral to have a couple of arrangements made and order individual flowers for the guests and let me just say, they went ABOVE AND BEYOND. They not only were able to get the individual flowers we required at a decent prince, they also made the most beautiful bouquets with my family member in mind. I shared that the deceased person was very vibrant, bright and happy and a ray of sunshine and they executed my thought process beautifully. They also stuck within my budget and were very honest about that which I am so beyond grateful. I would recommend them to ANYONE looking for a Calgary florist. They also sell locally made products and I also bought my new favourite necklace from them.

10/10 absolutely AMAZING local catering services. If I could give more stars I would. We had Visionary Cater our wedding and I would say every person who attended couldn’t believe how good the food was. Appetizers, entrees and dessert were all perfectly done. 5/5 does not meet the quality of the food Lindsay and his team delivered for our wedding. We went off menu and gave his team a new challenge of completing a 120 person plated dinner with burgers !! We did a beef burger, crispy Korean chicken burger, and a Mediterranean falafel burger (vegan). The food was amazing, portions HUGE and we received so many comments !

So thank you Lindsay and team for making our wedding dream come true !

The only thing I’d recommend to couples (and nothing wrong with visionary!), the food was SO good the cocktail hour snacks were gone !! I wouldn’t place them out as a buffet but have servers walk around with them. People loved them and took numerous quickly !

Today, when my friend and I passed by the Vivid Beige window display, my attention was immediately drawn to this dress. I was looking for an evening gown to wear to an event. The shop assistant kindly introduced me to many different styles, and I finally chose this red dress. The fabric is very comfortable, and the design is unique. I really like it, and I hope to visit often in the future.

My daughter and I visited the store for a mother of the bride dress and Judy provided us with the best experience! Her knowledge of the style of dresses she’s showed us, matched the theme of my daughter’s wedding. She made the experience very enjoyable and made us feel special from the moment we walked in, to the moment we left. We will definitely be back, and be referring to our friends and family.

I was recently on the hunt for a dress to wear to a holiday party. After going to several malls and stores I stumbled on to this fantastic hidden gem of a store. Judy is fantastic. She can take one look at your body shape and make recommendations on outfits that would look fabulous on you. Every single thing she brought to the change room fit me perfectly. I went in for one holiday dress and came out with three different outfits for work. It would have been more but I had run out of time! I am so glad I discovered this amazing store.

I was shopping for a Mother of the Bride dress and getting discouraged until we found Vivid Beige. Judy gave us amazing service, the selection of dresses was the best we had seen anywhere in the city and the prices were competitive to other shops, maybe even better for the designer collection she had. I left with a beautiful gown and will definitely be back to check out the rest of the store!

After striking out at so many other stores, i found this one and I was so happy. Judy was absolutely amazing. I was looking for a dress for a wedding that was black tie optional, and she provided so many amazing choices. She got me to try dresses that i never normally would have, and i absolutely loved them. Instead of buying one dress, i bought 3 and a jumpsuit. As once she figured out what i liked, she brought me other options (i now have 2 dresses for wedding, a little black dress (which you always need) and a killer jumpsuit. Thank you, Judy! I have been going to Vivid Hair Design for the last few years and absolutely love it. I was initially going to the Capitol Hill location, but moved over to the 14th Ave location when they transitioned their full team there. Either way, the same welcoming and stylish brand has been upheld by staff and design. I love the conversion of the house into the studio… It’s incredibly bright, airy, and relaxing. I also appreciate the wide selection of hair and skin care products, as well as the little touches like beverages and snacks available.

I have specifically been seeing Fedora, who has been incredible. She’s very insightful with the way she has helped me to evolve my hair to work with my natural palette, face shape, and hair texture. She tracks what we do in each session so we can assess direction for subsequent visits depending upon season and mood. Fedora is also just incredible nice to be around. She’s very intuitive and perceptive, so if I’m feeling particularly cheery and energetic we’ll dive in to great conversation with lots of laughs. If I’m feeling tired.. she’s wonderful at making the appointment feeling rejuvenating with more quiet, spa-like moments. She has perfect range through all the seasons of life :)

Really like Fedora's work as a hair stylist. She knows hair styles! She ensures that not just the main cut, but each detail of it is done well, creating cuts that look good, are sleek, have good lines, and are styled well. Had my hair a few times with her, and I'm happy with each one.

I have been coming to Vivid Hair for the past two years and it is the best hair salon I have been to. Being a university student, my stylist, Fedora, is always transparent with me about pricing which is something I have not had at other salons. She does an amazing job and I always leave satisfied, getting plenty of complements. I have thick, long, curly hair and she is amazing at handling it and recommending products that ACTUALLY WORK! I have transformed my dry, chlorine damaged hair and scalp into silky thick waves since seeing Fedora, she really knows her stuff. The staff are all really friendly, making the atmosphere comfortable, welcoming, and safe.I always look forward to my appointments with great chats, an AMAZING head massage, and leaving the salon with gorgeous, beautiful smelling hair. I have been screwed over so many times with hair salons and I can assure you, this is the place to be. I cant recommend Vivid Hair enough, especially Fedora!!!!!!!!

Very bad service bought a gold bracelet from them but within 10 days of purchase it got dents in it and when I went to shop to show him. Then he didn’t deal in a good manner he was rude and didn’t know how to talk to customer and retain them. Overall experience bad . Stumbled upon this place while staying at the Ramada next door. The store is a small cute colorful place. They have a big selection of candy and everything is hand made. The lollipops were the owners suggestion, I bought the earl grey latte and Creamsicle cheesecake, both were amazing! Probably the best flavored lollipops I've ever had. Highly recommend checking it out if you are in the downtown area!!

I have been watching their social media for a while and finally was able to go in with some friends. The staff was super kind, and we were perfectly time for them to have just finished making some mini pops! The candy we got was amazing. Every flavor was great, and I can not wait to go back and be able to try more as they have so much to pick from, and their prices are more than worth it.

Judy was incredible! Especially since we didn’t have a wedding rehearsal. Her guidance throughout the process and coordination on the day were invaluable. She kept everything running smoothly and created such a heartfelt ceremony. We couldn’t have asked for a better officiant.

Mike was the DJ for our wedding. I found him online and he was so amazing. He was fun, kind, showed up early, got the party going and even places speakers outside because the hall was so incredibly hot inside. Everyone was dancing and having the best time. I would highly recommend Mike to anyone looking for a DJ for their wedding or any event for that matter!!

I had Wakeup Starlight come play for my husband's 40th birthday. They were AMAZING! So fun! I had a ton of compliments from my guests on how great the band was. They came with all the production and I didn't have to do anything. They are all super personable and easy to communicate with. The transaction itself was flawless. I would HIGHLY recommend these guys, in fact I'd love to have another event just to have them back.

Wonderful service - Wishing the best for this company! The owner, Waldo, was incredibly genuine and nice, stayed past closing, and went out of his way to meet an extremely tight turnaround time for multiple huge posters, something that no other print shop in all of Calgary was able to do for me. He also met other specific requests/specifications I needed, again in an extremely quick manner, as well as throwing in a few freebies.

My experience with Waldos has been fabulous. We have worked with their team a couple of times now and they continue to produce high quality results with all of our projects. Waldo and his team are knowledgeable, friendly and extremely accommodating. More then once now, they have gone out of their way to meet tight deadlines for us without question. We LOVE our new tag! It's super well-made and durable. We took it on our latest hike and it doesn't make noise nor does it come off easily, thanks to the s-biner. The details are so beautiful and we definitely recommend these!

Oversold, overpriced & underwhelming. The venue may have changed this year but the same problems persist (wish I had read last yr's reviews before buying tickets). NOT a sustainable or spiritual event, incredibly expensive ticket gives you venue access and a cheap nylon bag with lantern kit, battery tea light, 1 marker and playing cards. We also paid for venue parking, which was also oversold and we were directed to an adjacent farmer's field full of cow patties that everyone seemed to have access to. 🙁 5 food trucks for huge crowds, 1 mini donuts, 1 ice cream, and 3 for just regular food meant huge lineups 30-40 min at least for all except the donut truck. When it came time to launch lanterns after dark the amount of waterfront for the crowds meant huge lineups the sequel! You had to launch using one of 3 slides, none were well signed, no one knew where to lineup. We left without even launching our lanterns rather than wait an additional hour. So disorganized. The glimpses of the lanterns on the water was really pretty if you could see through the crowds. Wow, so bad. 👎

Agreed with other reviews about the food and ticket price.
First there was long line up, took us an hour to find a spot close to the venue.
There were only 2 food trucks that i saw another stall by the river which all has a long line up (again)

My 3 stars was for the time spent and when it got dark. It was truly Amazing!!! We brought our picnic blankets and chairs which made our experience enjoyable with family and friends

I found it to be quite underwhelming. The event was overcrowded, making it difficult to move around and enjoy the experience. The venue was too small for the number of people attending, which led to a cramped and tight space. The staffs that supposed to give the event “bracelet” don’t know what to do, so most people did not get of that.

There were only a few food vendors on-site, and they quickly sold out, leaving many attendees without any food options. This lack of preparation for the number of guests was a major issue.

Everything from tickets to food and merchandise was overpriced for the experience provided. Overall, the Water Lantern Festival was not worth the cost and left much to be desired.

The thing we enjoyed was that when launching of lanterns on the water was pretty exciting!

Hey #waterlanternfestival Calgary this sucks. You open the gate at 6:30 and we're told not to bring outside food, but not provide enough food vendors. Within 30 min of the gates opening the vendors are out of food. We're starving. Food lines are over an hour each. Brutal. Already ruined the experience.

Follow up: this event was WAY oversold. There were at least 50% more people than the venue could handle. It was difficult to even get to the water side to float the lantern. Cash grab! Great idea and done well in other cities, worst festival I've ever attended in Calgary.

Boring 😴 only 4 food trucks very expensive we bought the lantern bags almost 50.00 each also they charged us for parking passes which no proof of purchase required. When we got there was no proof of purchase just walk up and grab a lantern bag why did we have to pay for this 🤔 cheap dollarr store quality. Will not go again only 1 way in and out thankfully we didn't stay the whole time would be a nightmare getting out of this place. With the massive amount of people doing the lantern launch you'll be there till 3am only have a small area to put the lanterns in the water.
