This place is fascinating for handmade paper, it feels almost like a museum. Everywhere you look, there’s something interesting to discover about the art and craft of paper.

Stumbled upon the shop on a walk around Mile End. A bookbinder’s / printmaker’s dream store. 🥲 such a great curation of papers, stationery, books, ceramics, and more. the staff were so lovely as well. Happily walked out (after some restraint) with a good book and paper for my next project.

I only wish they had an online store so I can order from BC… I guess I just have to keep coming back to Montreal ⚜️

Cute little shop that sells beautiful silky and colorful Japanese paper. The owners were super nice and very helpful.

THE source for washi! A great resource for Japanese papers and related items… not to be missed! Washi — Japanese paper — isn't the only thing here: there are books on papermaking, book binding, even alternative photography processes. In short, if it relates to the use of paper, then it's here.

There is also a room with Japanese ceramic tableware and even several pieces of Japanese clothing from which to choose.

Au Vieux Moulin feels like walking into a fairy tale. Its charming grounds filled with nature created the perfect atmosphere for such a wonderful wedding day. Caroline and her family's kindness and attentiveness is unmatched and makes the whole process much easier. Au Vieux Moulin is highly recommended to any couple dreaming of having a perfect wedding.

We had the privilege of using this beautiful one of a kind venue this past Saturday for our wedding. Even if you aren't from the Montreal area, I'd still recommend this place to you. It looks unreal, a real life painting. This place is the perfect place for anyone looking for a romantic styled wedding. All our guests were blown away. We also used their recommended caterer, and we still have guests telling us it was the best food they ever had at a wedding. To top off what is already so uniquely beautiful, the couple who runs this venue is unmatched. Wholesome, kind, attentive to the bride and groom, organized, respectful, and I could go on. Caroline and Doug love what they do, and it shines through Au Vieux Moulin. When planning a wedding, it's important to love your venue. And if you go visit, I guarantee just the venue itself will make you fall in love enough. But the people behind it, it really became a no brainer for me. Caroline, I appreciate you so much! I hope to be back someday soon! ❤️

My husband and I had our wedding here in August 2019. I don't have enough amazing things to say about this venue. Caroline and Doug did such an amazing job. The venue is gorgeous and level of service that Caroline provided was out of this world. We had the Miller's Love package which included catering by Mackoli Catering (some of the best food I've had!). Caroline thought of everything from priority parking for reduced mobility guests to special cocktails served immediately following the ceremony. She ensured that our wedding day went off without a hitch. The vendors she works with and recommends are excellent and affordable. Our expectations were exceeded every step of the way!

This is a beautiful setting for a wedding. I've worked here many times and the staff is very kind and accommodating. They even gave me some nice suggestions for locations for the wedding pictures - little corners of the property that I might not have discovered on my own. Rain or shine, this is a great wedding venue not far from Montreal.

This is by far THE WORST HOSTEL I’ve ever stayed at. All 3 nights were a nightmare, and I never managed to sleep for more than 2 hours in a row.

1. The hostel is directly above & next to Maison Saint Paul restaurant, which turns into a NIGHTCLUB at night. The music is unbelievably loud – even earplugs don’t help – and the whole building literally shakes. When I asked at reception, they said this is “normal on weekends & that the music stops at 3 am” so there’s nothing they can do. None of this is mentioned anywhere on the website !!! I noticed that several other guests also complained.

I contacted the manager by email and only received a very brief reply with little understanding and no goodwill or courtesy. I was quickly dismissed without any real effort to address the issue.

2. The other guests were extremely INCONSIDERATE – loud, disrespectful, stomping through the hallways at all hours so you hear every single step (I wonder why the reception doesn't point out upon arrival or put up signs saying "please don't stomp.").

3. My pillow smelled. I'm sure it wasn't freshly made. The duvets are just thin blankets. The kitchen is way too small for the number of guests. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting.

If you’re looking for a pleasant stay, do yourself a favor and spend a little extra money somewhere else. I would never recommend this hostel !

I had a fantastic stay at this hostel! The atmosphere was welcoming, clean, and perfect for both relaxing and meeting new people. What really stood out was the service — Ramon went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. From check-in to giving helpful tips about the city, he was friendly, professional, and genuinely cared about the guests. Thanks to him, my experience felt more personal and enjoyable.

Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great value, comfort, and excellent service.

I have been here since 2 weeks and I enjoy it so much! The staff is so kind, especially Ramon welcomed me so nicely, when I arrived very late on the evening!! The hostel is directly in Old Montreal and there is much to do around. In general it gives a very “I feel well “ feeling! I would definitely come back!!

I stayed here for one week. This place is just so amazing and comfortable to stay at. Everyone is great. Claire and Ramon has helped me so much as they are being really nice to me. They let guests to have complimentary coffee and tea, as well as using the washer with no extra cost. Everywhere in this place is very clean. They host a lot of fun events. I am able to meet very interesting people from around the world.

Honestly I think I was expecting too much considering the ratings. However the washrooms are not the cleanest and bedding does suck. Pillows are thin and the beds are super hard. I did pay extra to have a twin bed room however got a bunk bed room and squished in the middle. It’s bunk beds with 3 beds stacked on top of each other which I think is too much because you can’t even sit up right without hurting yourself. The staff were very kind and welcoming though and I do really appreciate that. Also the location is perfect!

We enjoyed our 3 night stay here for the most part. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The wifi was super fast, rooms relatively clean (just don’t look at the dust under the bed) . Location was wonderful, directly across Parc de La Fontaine and a 5 minute walk to Mont Royal for shopping and food. Biggest complaint was the lack of sound proofing, you literally could hear everything in the room beside you and I mean everything. Also breakfast staff could use a little training in hygiene. Still 4 stars and would stay again (but avoid breakfast)

About a 15 min walk from the nearest metro and right across from the Park. Great if you are planning to take lots of Lyft or uber rides. The buses were a pain because we had to change buses and there was often a long wait between buses. The auberge itself is great. Clean, nice room, good shower, comfortable bed. Yes, we had to walk up the stairs to our room with our bags but that wasn’t an issue for us. I liked that I could get coffee or tea downstairs in the kitchen any time I wanted.

Maha and the whole team was amazing and the location right next to the park on a sunny day is excellent!

They really went above and beyond every day that I stayed here to make my stay incredible - I can’t say enough good things about their hospitality and their vibe in general.

I absolutely love this hotel and will be staying here again. My room was very clean and had the best view of the park. The staff were friendly, helpful, and reliable. The walls are a little thin, but thankfully everyone was quiet and this was not an issue.

Fine for what it was but wouldn't stay again (or at least not in the private bunk bed room). Pros: staff were friendly, the location is great, and the terrace was a welcomed amenity. Cons: Our AC was broken, there's no outlet/extension cord for the top bunk + not all the outlets worked, the kitchen is not accessible after 9pm (even if you just want to put food in the fridge), and there's only two toilets per floor (one broke during our stay). The terrace also gets rented out for private events and was unavailable for guests half of the time (there's no heads up about this).

Amazing location, helpful staff, homely vibe and social hostel, without amenities.

The services aren’t great, air conditioning doesn’t work and couldn’t get fixed during our stay for the week (during summer). Washrooms are cramped and also had plumbing issues. I wouldn’t recommend it at all if you’re looking for comfort, but definitely yes if you’re looking for a great location with a good overall vibe.

I had a wonderful stay at the Auberge du Plateau (private room, shared bathrooms). Super clean, quiet, and with incredibly friendly and helpful staff. The common room is great, with a very nice breakfast each morning. Great location, a short walk from the metro and to Saint Laurent. Able to leave my bags after checkout until my train later that day. If I return to Montreal I will certainly stay again.

I am flabbergasted, this place is better than most hotels I have stayed. It is absolutely beautiful, close to basically everywhere by foot, bus stop in front, metro 5 mins away. Lobby is so pretty, nice romantic French music, or some lovely jazz is playing in the back. Everyone I talked to at the front desk was very kind and friendly. They are very accommodating too. Rooms are clean, they give you fresh bedding and towels. Toilet was also clean. The bed was comfortable. And the breakfast?? It was perfect, they even make you fresh pancakes, it was an amazing start of the day. They even had real marmalade🤤 Kitchen is well equipped and also spotless. I can’t believe I paid $20 for such beautiful service. I am definitely coming back.

We had the most amazing stay here at the end of May. The location is excellent with easy walking everywhere. Our room was beautiful and spacious with a great view over the harbour.

We loved our cozy room with its gorgeous water views—it felt so peaceful and was a great spot to unwind. The room was spotless and had everything we needed, though the bed was a bit on the lumpy side. We could hear some loud door-slamming from other guests, which wasn’t ideal, but overall, it was a relaxing stay.

The toiletries in the shower were running low, but we didn’t ask for more since shared ones aren’t our favourite (we don’t like the idea of previous guests tampering with them). The front desk team was amazing and made late checkout super easy. Valet parking was a little over $50 a night, and they took excellent care of our large SUV—no scratches, which we really appreciated!

Dining on the terrace the first night was such a treat. The views were stunning, the service was wonderful, and the food was absolutely delicious. Yes, it was a bit pricey, but totally worth it for the experience. Would happily stay and dine here again!

I don’t even know where to begin, our stay at Auberge du Vieux-Port was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality that set the tone for the entire trip. Every single detail of our stay was thoughtfully curated, and it truly felt like a home away from home, with a luxurious twist.

The room was stunning, exposed brick walls, wooden beams, and massive windows overlooking the St. Lawrence River made it feel like we were in a romantic movie. The bed was ridiculously comfortable, the bathroom was pristine and well-stocked, and I couldn’t get enough of the little touches like plush robes, fancy toiletries, and complimentary coffee and water.

Breakfast at Taverne Gaspar every morning was such a treat, delicious, fresh, and made to order. And don’t even get me started on the rooftop terrace. Watching the sunset with a cocktail in hand while the city buzzed below us was pure magic.

The location couldn’t be more perfect. Right in the heart of Old Montreal, we were steps away from incredible restaurants, charming boutiques, and beautiful historic sites. Yet, inside the hotel, it was quiet and peaceful, like a hidden oasis.

Above all, the staff made this experience extraordinary. Every single person we interacted with went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, happy, and having a great time.

Hands down, this was the best stay we've ever had. If you’re visiting Montreal and want a truly special experience, do yourself a favor and stay at Auberge du Vieux-Port. We’re already dreaming of coming back

Tucked away in the heart of Old Montreal, this restaurant offers a truly delightful dining experience. We shared the Swiss cheese fondue (minimum for two), served with hot Earl Grey tea that perfectly balanced the richness of the cheese. The grilled halibut with potatoes featured fresh, tender fish, though the flavor leaned a bit sour for my taste. The cocktails were superb — beautifully crafted and flavorful. The atmosphere is exquisite: elegant, slightly mysterious, and perfect for a special evening out. It is on the pricier side, but still worth it for a special night out.

This place is awesome. From the friendly service to the never ending parade of servers that takes care of all your needs. Not to mention all the food we had were excellent.

We had the fondue, roasted eggplant, rack of lamb, and the orecchiette. To finish the night, we had chocolate mousse, peach cobbler, and the lemon meringue pie.

Let me start by saying, this was the absolutely most incredible meal that we had in Montreal over our 5 day stay. Just wow!

The atmosphere, the music, the fireplace, and the food were outstanding! I had a small but special request in advance for the chef for my meal and they eloquently obliged this request.

The wine selection was perfect. Let’s talk about the filet! Perfectly cooked and so tender! Order the spit grilled cauliflower - absolutely to die for! The brioche buns with rosemary sage butter were a delicious treat! Also we loved the mashed potatoes with incredible sea salt flakes hitting the palate perfectly.

We have been wanting to come here for more than 20 years and it did not disappoint! 5 Stars ✨ We shall return!

My wife and I had an absolutely lovely time. I was excited about the big bathtub to soak my joints after walking all day--I was a little concerned it would be impossible to get a tub that big full of hot enough water, but it wasn't a problem at all! Very lovely after a long day. The room itself was absolutely gorgeous with fun antique furniture and beautiful paintings. It was a very welcome change from boring, Grey and beige hotel rooms. We got in super late, but the staff made sure ahead of time that we had everything we needed for a smooth check in, which was so nice after a stressful journey. The parking was easy and they gave good instructions to get there.

Breakfast was absolutely divine. The eggs Benedict and french toast were some of the best I've ever had, and the staff was so friendly and welcoming and accommodating. Check in and check out were painless and easy. This was a beautiful, refreshing experience for a VERY reasonable price!

We chose this rental for the convenience and location. The room we had didn’t have a washroom but there was one in the hallway exclusive to our suite so no problem there really. The room was quiet and clean. It was simplistic with no coffee machine or view to speak of. The plus to this place was the location because you’re pretty much close to everything with a metro station just down the street. 👍😎

My husband and I stayed 2 nights this summer at Auberge Les Bons Matins. The management made a great effort to create a comfortable, cozy, and artfully-decorated space, with great attention to details. Quiet room for a good rest. The room had everything we needed, incl a small round table to work at, and good space to store your bags; and the adjacent shaded parking lot was great. The location is also fantastic: metro nearby, short walk to grocery stores and restos, to Parc Mont Royal and to la belle rue Sainte Catherine! The reception is not staffed full-time so that was a bit of a change for us but if you inform management of your check-in time, they make it easy, and they are quick to respond via text. We typically get up early and hit the city however next time we stay here we will take advantage of the breakfast ---the dining room is lovely! I'd definitely recommend it - it was charming and a refreshing change from large hotel chains nearby.

4.5 stars. Location is very central and very cozy. Didn't feel like we were right downtown when your in your suite!

It is an older set of building, they are very clean and comfortable. They have thought of everything you could want or need. It is also very private and you rarely see staff unless you need them.

Pay parking at the rear, and spots are large enough for a pickup truck ( this is impressive if you have visited Montreal before and know parking can be very difficult. Parking is accessed at the rear of the building which takes a drive around the block to get to, but you are given a map and great instructions to get there.

I will definitely be staying here again!

This was more a hostel then a hotel. The room wasn't very sound proofed. We could hear the people next door talking all night. The baseboard and trim was all banged up. Our bathroom was very unappealing and we found the stairs up to the bathroom a safety hazard. There was also no door for the bathroom except for doors with all glass on them. No privacy in the bathroom at all

Great location and very affordable stay. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout. The included breakfast was simple but adequate, and the entire place was very clean and neat. The only drawback was that the room got a bit warm overnight, and I wasn’t able to regulate the AC. Overall, a good value and pleasant experience.

We stayed for a weekend trip and really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The service and staff were amazing. Mohammad at the front desk went above and beyond to assist us. The building is very unique and a really interesting history. The hotel is located very close to downtown and all the attractions. Everything is a few minutes drive away. The parking at the hotel is limited so I advise arriving well before check in to ensure there is space. The included breakfast was basic but good very filling.

Perfect hotel if you’re staying for one night! Very budget friendly. Rooms are exactly like the one’s shown in the pictures. 10-15 minutes drive from downtown. Some restaurants are at the walking distance . Front desk staff is very kind and helpful and go above n beyond to make your stay better. Nice little fancy boutique hotel! Parking is limited, make sure to arrive a little early to get the perfect spot. We got a deluxe room and I believe it was the best decision. It’s alright for a night or if you’re looking for cheap n best, but if you’re staying more than a night and can afford little extra, I’d recommend to get something more closer to downtown as there will be more things to do and see.

Not a good option if you value your car not being stolen, clean rooms, air conditioning, or helpful staff.

Our vehicle was stolen on our second night and the hotel is offering ZERO support. The hotel told us where to park, gave us a steering wheel lock, and told us so long as we parked in the right place and put the lock on our car we would be safe. I also find it a bit suspicious that they put our room right by the parking lot where it was easier to boost the signal from our car key. Just something to think about…

The hotel has many cameras around the property. The cameras are of such a poor quality, and angled in such a manner, that they do not capture any useful information. Our car was parked in hotel parking, directly in the front of the hotel. Yet, the camera was unable to show how the assailants entered the vehicle or any clear image of them. The hotel administration said just the fact that they had cameras at all was already an accomplishment. I applaud them on their state of the art security! It was very helpful! The police wouldn’t even use the footage because it was so blurry and poorly angled.

If that was not bad enough, the room was dirty too. The bedsheets were stained when we checked in. There was hair on the bed, in the shower, and on the floor. Other guests had similar complaints. For example, after we checked in, there was a woman standing outside the hotel who had checked in but rejected her rooms because they were unclean. She stopped me specifically to ask if we had the same issue. I informed her we did but accepted the room regardless. A bit of a mistake.

Our room was not cleaned and our towels not replaced after the first night. After our vehicle was stolen right from under the hotel’s nose, on the second night, they made the room for the remainder of our stay. Thanks for that!

There was also a large centipede on the wall. The manager denied its existence when we informed them.

The air conditioner does not work well. Many nights the room was too hot to sleep in. The A/C is centrally controlled so if it gets hot there is nothing that can be done.

To reiterate, (1) our car was stolen on hotel property, (2) the hotel did not accommodate us after the car was stolen (i.e., no reimbursement, no refund, etc.), (3) our room was dirty, (4) our room had bugs, and (5) our room had bad A/C. Not my favorite experience tbh.

Staff are friendly, very helpful regarding where to park.
Room is nice, all you need really. The whole building could do with a bit of a renovation but its current state certainly adds to the charm of the place.
Breakfast was pleasant, various options, nothing too extravagant - if you're looking for a full cooked breakfast, you'll be disappointed.
Overall, really enjoyed our stay.

Be vigilant with your car, there are lots of car thefts around the area.

I had a very pleasant stay at Hostel Saintlo during my two nights in Montreal. The room and bedding were clean and fresh, which made for a comfortable rest. The kitchen was well equipped and easy to use, which was a big plus. One of the highlights was the breakfast – they served amazing real Montreal bagels, such a nice local touch! The location is also excellent, within easy walking distance to downtown, which made exploring the city super convenient. Overall, a great hostel experience with everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Highly recommend!

Fantastic hostel, lovely staff greeted me for check-in and explained everything clearly.
The room is comfortable, a little small (I had a large suitcase) but there's plenty room for everything.
I was in an all female room and it was clean, lovely and comfortable to sleep in. The bunk beds are really good.
Lovely facilities - extra showers and lounge for studying on different floors.

Dislikes: Honestly I liked pretty much everything, the only things I'd say is that the breakfast lacks variety - there was only cereal and bread with spreads. I understand it's included in a very low price but I found the breakfast improvised and not clean.

The reception staff extremely helpful and all happy. The 2 tours were very interesting and lots of humour with no expectation of tips. Room quite hot but bed comfortable. Shared bathroom clean and good showers. A shelf by the mirror would be useful. Perfect location with easy walking to lots of museums, theatres, cafes, etc.

After reading many opinions about Airbnb and how it’s negatively affected the housing market in Montreal, we decided to stay at a local establishment. After considering a hotel, seeing ridiculous prices per night, we decided to stay at a hostel.

Saintlo is a small, lovely hostel. The staff is kind and supportive. The check in and check out was easy. The rooms are as pictured online - relatively small, clean. You can stay in shared or private room - the private double room that we stayed in had a bunk bed similar to the shared rooms. The hostel provides free daily breakfast (bagel, fruit, cereal, coffee), and daily group activities. They provide ear plugs, but we didn’t have to use them - noise wasn’t an issue during our stay. It’s easy to get around the city from their location - it’s a 5 min walk to the metro and nearby bus stops. We felt safe and comfortable during our stay. We’re so happy we found Saintlo and highly recommend staying here!

I stayed at Saintlo for one night, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. They kindly provide a luggage storage room as a courtesy, which I really appreciated. However, you need to ask someone to unlock it each time, which can feel a bit uncomfortable each time you need to grab something. A more convenient system would make it even better. That said, my overall experience was great.

I had a wonderful experience with Cyan. She really listened to my needs and took the time to understand my hair history and what I was looking for now. She was very thorough and educational in her explanations. When I lifted my head after the drying process, I finally saw my curls again—just like I remembered them from decades ago: defined, hydrated, voluminous, and frizz-free. I'm very happy with my new routine, which fits well with my lifestyle. I’ve been receiving so many compliments on my new haircut, which is perfectly suited to my curls.

First time here. My curls really needed a refresh as I haven’t had my hair cut in way too long! I am in love with the results! Thank you so much, Sherrie for your kindness and expertise!

Just had my first-ever curly cut with Sherrie and I was amazed by the entire experience! Every little detail from the haircut to the salon itself was considered, and I appreciated all the thought and care that went into making the salon what it is. I had and appointment with Sherrie and I really liked it. It took me a while to find a place specialized in curly hair, but I went in and did not regret it. She didn’t put any pressure on me to have a complex routine or to use some professional products, which was really appreciated. They are also really honest, as I booked the deluxe hair appointment and I ended up not needing it, so she adjusted the price!

First time ever getting a curly hair cut and it was AMAZING!

Did quite a bit of research before choosing the salon I wanted for my first trim. A lot of other top curly salons in Montreal seemed really focused on pushing their line of curly hair products, especially during the consultation, something I wasn’t too keen on. The reviews also noted them to be a little noisy as well and not very time sensitive for their customers.

Aura Beauty stood out though as a prime contender due to their reviews, no pushiness, 2 co-owners who were both extremely experienced and the ones doing the hair cuts, and overall salon policies and inclusivity.

I was very impressed and very happy I chose this salon! I have never had a cut looking this great and I received some wonderful tips that equally saves me money, and helped steer me towards different techniques I should use at home.

My salon-ist was Cyan. However I’m sure Sherrie is also extremely fantastic, as they’ve both trained and worked together for years.

Grace and her team made my wedding perfect. They listened to me and provided the most beautiful flower arrangements and bouquets that I have ever seen. Grace is a true professional and a pleasure to work with. Trust her and you won’t be disappointed.

Absolutely amazing! They did a gorgeous job at my wedding last year and I have used them for 2 other family weddings since then. I also have friends that have worked with them for numerous events and had a great experience with them. Grace offers the most amazing arrangements and gives you exactly what you want. She considers your budget and your needs unlike other florists. She is also very generous with her work and really likes to make your event special. To top it off she was the nicest and most professional of eall the vendors used at these weddings. They were the most stress free people to work with during all our family events. Thanks to the great support of the team ( Alyssa) we had a super time traveling through western Canada. Everything was perfect organized started with the tour configuration (adjusted to our needs & wishes), the campgrounds booked for us, the RV selected and some updates during our road trip. The roadblock helped to prioritize what to see and what to do.

We never drove an RV before, but that was something we wanted to do for a long time. And it’s so fun, driving in this country is easy, even with a long motorhome. Camping in the middle of the woods, near a river … No need to pack in and out every evening/morning in a hotel, it’s cozy and the perfect solution when travelling with a baby.

I definitely recommend the rental company Authentik Canada. Their service was all you could wish for. The camper was very modern, everything you need is in there. Kitchen, bed (damn we slept well..), shower, coach,.. One day we might even buy one ourselves … 😊

The campers of Authentik Canada have slide outs, it means that when you’re on the campsite the side can slide out so you have more room inside, which is extremely comfortable and a big overall bonus … There are different types of campers, from small (2p) to very big (7p).

We’ve picked up the camper in Vancouver and dropped it off in Calgary, very useful! Off course a round trip is also possible, which is cheaper.

The camper as you can see is from Canadream, but renting with authentik Canada (as a 2nd party) is cheaper than direct with Canadream or any other rental company..

My experience with Authentik Canada has been nothing short of a huge disappointment. After booking a trip with them for 2020 and Authentik Canada being the only company out of a two month trip that was not willing to refund during the pandemic we had no choice but to retain our credit and use it to rebook our holiday in 2022. We booked a hire car. The paper work sent through had the incorrect names of drivers for the vehicle listed I requested this be changed at the time and was assured that this would not affect the booking and can be sorted out by the Hire car Company (Thrifty) on collection. When we arrived at Thrifty we were very promptly told that they could not help us and we would not be able to take our car until Authentik Canada amended the booking to include the correct names. I phoned to have this corrected and was told that they could not make an amendment without cancelling the booking and rebooking the trip, and there was now no vehicles available for rebooking. This is the worst service I have ever experienced in my life. We were lucky that Thrifty made an exception and altered the booking, this is against their policy because we booked through a third party. Please consider looking elsewhere when planning your next holiday. No one wants to experience an issue whilst on holidays but knowing that this company will do nothing to help when you experience a problem caused by their own incompetence is beyond a joke.

Disastrous Car Rental Experience: Misleading Charges and Unhelpful Customer Service, Inestimable Loss of Time, and a $207 Financial Scam at Avis via Authentik Canada - Far From Authentic!

I requested a reservation change from July 27th to 30th, adding an extra day until July 31st. They sent an email stating the price would increase from $440 to $517, a difference of $77. However, upon arrival, the reservation hadn't been modified, and they wanted to charge me $130 for the additional day, double the agreed price! They also added a $60 charge for an extra driver (my brother) despite the website stating it was free for drivers sharing the same address. I ended up paying 284$ instead of 77$ a big difference of 207$-that is a scam!

When I called to fix the reservation, I spent 30 minutes begging the agent to help, but she claimed she couldn't because I didn't give a second approval, even though I initiated the change. Their customer service was ridiculous! The agent wasted my time, and the 30 minutes were deducted from my rental return time, resulting in an extra charge since I planned to return at 10:30. I ended up paying 284$ instead of 77$ a big difference of 207$-that is a scam!

This experience was a nightmare, and I'm deeply disappointed with their unprofessionalism and terrible customer service. I won't recommend their services and will look for better options for future car rentals."
Beware of Hidden Fees and Avoid at All Costs!

Friendly customer service. We had rented two shuttle buses for our wedding and it was awesome. The drivers were amazing- my driver in particular was so sweet when he saw how nervous I was waiting in the limo!

There was a last minute hiccup with our reservation to which they provided an immediate solution. Thanks, Autobus!

We rented a 13 seater Ford Transit for our family vacation airport drop off and pickup and were extremely happy with the great service we received! Our drivers were were professional, prompt and just amazing! We will definitely book your services again for our next family vacation!

We rented this limo for prom, and at the low cost of 500$ for a one-way trip, we got what we payed for. The car is old and visibly used, there are rips in the seats and the audio system does not work. The customer service could be better, since I never got any confirmation of payment or anything of that kind. When we put up the separation, the driver used the opportunity to start smoking. In the end, if you want your special day to be perfect, either rent from a different company or prepare yourself for a less than ideal limo experience.

When you call initially, don't expect the person on the phone to tell you any details on vehicles availabilities or rates they have no such information. Had to call 3 times this week to get more information from the sales team, only to get a text message 4 days after my initial call to tell me they are sold out for that day and apparently sent me an email that I never received. Very frustrating experience.

Yi-Wen did an amazing job for my wedding. She is so professional and kind, I am so happy I was able to work with her. :) Her creations looked beautiful and completely elevated the space!

Bad experience, predatory practices. I didnt realize it was Aviva I had such horrible experiences with last year too, until I recently had to deal with them again and it all came back. Trying to talk with them to resolve an issue and them totally willing to screw me over. Really, you want to just pretend there's no fee for canceling a contract? Until I sign a new contract that I dont need and you charge me for it, for absolutely no service.

I almost gave them a star for having 1 normal interaction with me previously, I was able to change my insurance no issue But I took it away too because they could've given me a heads up at any time saying that unless I cancel, it will automatically renew. I was used to calling every year to re negotiate so it hadn't happened before. Honestly, it's not just Aviva or even this industry alone. Having limited options, no healthy competition let's these companies abuse customers with little consequence. Like really?! Across the board you have barely a two point rating!

Oh, almost forgot, I eventually asked to get a supervisor, they said no one was available and theyd call back; they didnt.
I called back and if it wasn't for me, walking them through how to help me and not taking no for an answer, I would be out a couple hundred dollars for nothing.

I tired to pay online and their site didn't work, so I tired to call and couldn't get a hold of someone. Then I tired to pay online again 3 days later, still didn't work. They sent me a letter saying they cancelled my insurance... and I have to pay a $60 fee as well to reinstate it. Stay away from this insurance even though it may be cheap, the service and availability of people is the worst.

I rate them 1 because there is no zero or negative star available. worst insurance company ever! Incompetent agents who are unable to do things properly. and respond to questions only by repeating themselves like a robot. Any blind person with average IQ can realize that I was not liable in the accident, but they say it's 50 / 50 by default because the other driver said so!!!

Just wait until its time to make a claim. Then you will see their true colors. Be prepared for your rate to go up by at least 20% even when you don't make any claims. They are a greedy corporation. Just like any other insurance. Its government sanctioned robery.

Horrible roadside assistance and customer service. Twice now they rejected my tow because the customer service rep's interpretation of their rule is as such. They understand their policies as one thing and would twist the words and deny you tow at all costs. First time they offered to tow me to a body shop for a mechanical breakdown because that is the closest repair shop. Horrible service every time. No manager to report their services and no followup calls.

Worst possible company to use through TD auto club. They leave you stranded on highways because they say unsafe for tow truck drivers. Also would not change a flat tire in my driveway because inch of snow. Said it had to be towed to nearest station which they chose as 30 minutes away when there are several closer. Closer tow truck eventually came out and wondered why the heck it needed to be towed instead changing tire. Stay away from this company.

Terrible company. Their employees struggle to speak English so communication is difficult. They take a very long time to reply to emails and half the service employees don’t even know what they’re doing.

This is the actual worst travel insurance that I have ever used. Almost 6 months later I'm still waiting for reimbursement and they "decided" to only reimburse me half of the cost of the medical assistance. Save your coins and spare yourself from a lot of stress and get another insurance.

Went with my husband to get highlights together, I arrived at 2 pm and did not finish till 8 pm. During my appointment my hair dresser did 3 other ladies hair which I’ve never experienced in my life before. During my consultation I showed her the hair I wanted and received absolutely nothing close as well as my husband. We were changed $650 and left unsatisfied.

Owner and hair dresser messaged me to remove my review however I will never. Extremely unprofessional and dissatisfied with their services. Within 24 hours me and my husband both coloured our hair back to brown due to how botched and horrible our hair turned out. We just wasted $650, literally went to the garbage.

A Party We’ll Never Forget… And Neither Will Anyone Else!

It’s been a year since our wedding, and people still tell us how it was the best party they’ve ever been to and that’s 100% thanks to DJ Majd, DJ Kloud, and the entire BTB team.

From the music, to the MC work, to the saxophone set and full entertainment experience, everything was flawlessly executed. Majd took the time to plan every single detail with us, both in front and behind the scenes, and made sure nothing was left to chance. The team was so organized, so thoughtful, and so in tune with what we wanted, that the day went off without a single hitch.

We had a full itinerary, no surprises, just good vibes and nonstop fun. We told Majd, “All we want is to dance, jump, and have fun all night,” and that’s exactly what they delivered. Honestly, we’ve never seen an entire room, young and old, on the dance floor all night like that. It was to the point that nobody knew the midnight table was served because we were all dancing away. THEY JUST GET IT.

We’ll forever be grateful to BTB. Truly, calling them just a DJ service doesn’t do them justice, they were the heartbeat of our celebration.

There are truly no words that can capture the gratitude we feel for the Back to Basics team after our wedding this past weekend. Going into our reception, we had very high expectations of what we knew they could deliver. We never thought they would shatter those expectations tenfold. The ability they have to read the room and pivot based on the vibes of the crowd is exceptional. You know the music is good when guests tell you they couldn't leave the dance floor for the midnight buffet or even a bathroom break because the fear of missing an epic song or insane remix was too great. Kirky & Jason brought the energy, captivated the room, and made every moment of our evening unforgettable.

Entertainment and a great dance party were top priorities for us, so splurging on B2B was absolutely worth it! Our planner had the utmost trust in their team and we quickly saw why.

Kirk and Majd were fantastic during the planning process, and on the big day Kirk and Jason completely exceeded our expectations (our planner said that’s their norm!). The music throughout the entire day was incredible. Dancing between courses (something we hadn’t experienced before and initially weren’t sure if our guests would be into) and an epic dance party that had friends begging for more when the night ended. We got tons of compliments about the music.

Kirk checked in with us throughout the evening, even making sure we stayed hydrated, and invited us to take the first Photo Booth picture, which were well-appreciated and thoughtful touches.

The Photo Booth was a massive hit with all ages. Guests kept asking what filter was on the photos because it made everyone look amazing 😂
