It is our third time to visit this pizza shop just because the pizza is SO GOOD and the price is also appealing in Happy Hour time. We tried the bison meat pizza and spinach pizza, both are very fresh, juicy, generously seasoned and tasty. You can enjoy the chief make the pizza dough and put them into the oven. It’s just fresh and super chewy! Definitely it’s my favorite pizzeria in Calgary so far.

Pizza #3 was absolutely perfect if you love spinach! Pizza #5 was also great with a creamy goat cheese taste.
Both had the most delicious crispy crust and super fresh toppings!

The food was incredibly delicious – every bite was full of flavor. The bartender was amazing and made some of the best drinks I’ve had in a long time. Great vibes, great service, and great pizza. Can’t wait to go back!

We started with the arancini. It was good, but I missed having a sauce to go with it. Then we ordered the bruschetta, which was delicious — the flavors went really well together.

For the main dish, we had the smoked salmon pizza. It had a good amount of salmon, and the arugula made it taste fresh.

For dessert, we tried the tiramisu and the Sicilian cannoli. The tiramisu was good, but the cannoli was a bit disappointing. It didn’t have much flavor and was missing a bit of lime to make it stand out.

The place has a nice atmosphere, but it’s small, so it can be hard to find a table. The food is good, and I would go back to try other pizza flavors.

Sweet spot! I had meant to try a different resto in the area but stumbled across this establishment by chance - Zero regrets!

Super friendly staff and a healthy selection of pizza with many unique combinations. The place is clean and has a cozy vibe.

We had a fantastic meal at this charming English restaurant! The scotch egg was absolutely spot-on—crispy on the outside, perfectly soft in the center, and packed with flavor. I went for the fishermen's pie, and it was comfort food at its finest: creamy, hearty, and loaded with fresh seafood.

The rest of the family tried the chicken pot pie, pork chop, and salmon dishes, and every single plate was a hit. The pot pie had a flaky crust and rich filling, the pork chop was juicy and well-seasoned, and the salmon was beautifully cooked with a lovely balance of flavors.

Warm service, cozy atmosphere, and food that truly delivers—this place is a gem. We'll definitely be back!

Nice bar with a good wine list and food menu. I had the Scotch Egg and it was cooked perfectly. I wasn't a fan of the chutney base it was served on though. Hubby had the Chicken Pot Pie and said the filling was creamy and the puff pastry light and tasty. Service was friendly and efficient.

I took a star off because the bar was cold inside and I had to keep my coat on, and it was too noisy for a comfortable conversation.

Mind you we went here because it had great ratings and it did not disappoint! Gabriel was our server and she was excellent with perfect English and French (I presume). ;)

We sat “outside” on a warm day but were glad to have a seat. Outside is an interior open courtyard.

We only ordered what she suggested - croquette appetizer (amazing) and a chicken pot pie for me and a fisherman’s pie for my wife. Both were as good as it gets. They also have great Quebec beer on tap and interestingly good cocktails.

Our first time together in Montreal so much to see!

Stopped in to catch a game and really impressed with this atmospheric pub in old Montreal. Great service from Kayla and Renato but the entire staff was fun, friendly but seriously service oriented. Asked regularly if we needed anything, water filled, even changed the channel for us. Had a lovely, carefully mixed old fashioned, the Scotch egg and fries. A super pleasant pub with standout staff.

This restaurant was recommended by a francophone influencer on IG because many of her followers recommended it to her. It was a win. I enjoyed sitting outside and talking my time enjoying the ambiance. I ordered the Scottish egg (absolutely delicious - will order every time) and the chicken pot pie. The crust was so buttery and the chicken perfectly seasoned and tender. I speak French and enjoyed speaking with the servers but English is also very prevalent.

Had a wonderfuull experience dining here for a dinner course.
We were touring and had snacked before, so got the 5 course dinner instead of 7.
I added the lobster tail and it was absolutely worth it. Every plate of the course was unique and tasted great.
The wine pairing was a great experience as well. All the wines had very clean finish, which we did like.
The place has great atmosphere overall and the course menu food came out in a timely manner. We had plans afterwards and were able to finish the whole course in an hour and a half.
The course menu pricing was fair, and with 4 wine glasses total, the wine pairing classique price was fair as well.

Too bad I can't go higher than 5 stars for the service!

Everythinf at h3 was incredible. Warm welcome, seated at the window for a lovely view of the Palais des Congrès. Delicious 5 course tasting menu and we opted in for the 6th course, being lobster (can't say no to that) and we also added in the wagyu sando (it's a must!). We wanted a "clean" evening so opted in for the mocktail pairing, 4 in total. Each were unique in flavour, really blended and complimented the meal.

Lastly. The secret surprise for my girlfriend's birthday. Wonderful. Thank you!

Service was fantastic, we were always checked up on an accommodated. Food was delicous, and atmosphere was elevated but cozy. Would definitely eat here again!

Beautiful ambiance and excellent service. My waiter was absolutely lovely. However, my dining experience left much to be desired. I was very excited for one particular appetizer listed on the website under the Tables Gourmandes tasting menu, only to be told that the menu had rotated and the option was no longer available. I would advise to keep the menus updated on the website to avoid this type of disappointment from customers.

In lieu of my desired appetizer I ordered a duck confit fried spring roll. This was served on a hard, non-porous rock-like platter. As a result, there was a huge pool of oil accumulating under the food (see the attached photo). I'm normally not difficult and very understanding with kitchens, but this is the first time I had to offer a kind suggestion to the chef at a restaurant because the amount of oil my food was swimming in was simply not acceptable. The waiter was very gracious in receiving my feedback.

My main, the chicken ballotine, was good - nice flavour, pretty presentation - but the dish itself fell flat and felt uninspired. It wasn't bad, just not exciting or creative, which is what I was brought to expect based on the restaurant's website.

The tiramisu was perhaps my biggest disappointment. I am accustomed to a tiramisu that is light and airy, ladyfingers packed with coffee flavor. I was disappointed to find that this rendition of "tiramisu" was topped with a cream that was thick, dense and pasty - it had clearly been pre-refrigerated. At $7 for a small portion, I expected more.

As a Montreal local, I've stayed at this hotel before and I've had breakfast at the restaurant. It was good (not outstanding, but good). With such excellent reviews, I wanted to give the lunch offering a go, especially with the limited edition menu (which ended up being pretty much the same as their regular one...). I was left feeling that the overall experience was quite mediocre and the service and atmosphere were the only redeeming qualities.

Went to Riviera Ottawa for dinner. The ambiance was very nice. Kind of like dark-ish, fancy speakeasy vibes (but not with the hush hush talking lol). We ordered: steak frites, medium rare — very tender and flavourful; scallop chowder — love this, great starter, scallop tasted so fresh and the ginger was a nice touch; burger — really good classic burger, double patty, very heavy and filling. Our server was also very polite (we forgot his name) and gave great suggestions. We would have gotten dessert, but we were stuffed after lol. Would definitely come back!

I've only been to Riviera for drinks so far, but have never been disappointed with the options or the service. The curated cocktails are creative and delicious. The wine list is impressive. And if you're an amateur of gins like me, you'll have plenty to chose from.

Such an incredible experience. The food was delicious and the staff was very attentive. If you have an opportunity to sit at the bar and watch the chefs cook I highly recommend it. It was like dinner and a show. These guys are a fine oiled machine.

We enjoyed our dinner at this popular restaurant. The service was attentive, and the food was both delicious and refreshing. The dessert, however, was a little too sweet for our taste.

Had an amazing dinner at Riviera, which has been a restaurant that I’ve been meaning to try for a while now. Service was phenomenal, the servers are very attentive and gave a lot of great suggestions. Cocktail list is huge and the cocktails we got were really creative. Oysters were very fresh and we loved the hot sauce that came with it. The ravioli was amazing, probably my favourite dish! The filling was delicious, ravioli was cooked to perfection, and the sauce was so light and complimented the rich ravioli. Steak frites were also really good. Steak was cooked perfectly to medium rate, fries were really crisp, and the fried sage leaves added a nice flavour to the fries. They also have a Photo Booth in the back which is really fun!

One word, Amazing!

This restaurant had been on my bucket list for a while, and I’m glad I finally had a chance to try it out. It was my first time trying escargots, and the dish definitely didn’t disappoint. The seafood medley was also excellent—absolutely delicious. I enjoyed my desserts, and left not only very satisfied but genuinely full, given how tasty and filling my meal was. It was a friend’s birthday and the other restaurant goers seated nearby were so kind as to make it a memorable experience for her as well. I really appreciated the beautiful decor and ambiance.

Perfect atmosphere, perfect dinner, perfect service.
We loved all, from generous appetizers to gorgeous and flavored Rosebowl plate for two.
Don't forget dessert, we had tartufo and tiramisu, just excellent.
Recommended 100 💯 when in Ottawa.

Table for 2 walk in on weekend. Resteraunt is very busy and we got seated to one of the booth facing the bar. Atmosphere is good and the server is friendly and polite. We tried a few signature drinks recommended by the server and they taste good. Presentation is excellent. Tried a few entree and the shrimp weren’t cooked properly. We told the manager and she took it back and brings us a new dish. At the end, she told us the cook was a bit off today and there were a few feedback on the food. She told us that she will “comp” the drinks but at the end it didn’t happened. Parkings are available on the street in the front and side of resteraunt.

The place looked a bit run down. A bunch of small damages were observable. Music was very loud and sometimes a bit odd.
Service was alright, although the waitresses outfits were a bit too open for my taste.
My fried zucchini were alright. Nice sauce, but nothing out of the box. I enjoyed the Roquefort salad.
The in-bone filet was a bit of a disappointment. Definitely not bad, but you expect something more from a premium cut like this one.

Overall not a bad place, but I expected more. The prices are high relative to what’s offered.

Treated ourselves for a special occasion and Rouge did not disappoint with warm, friendly, knowledgeable service. We chose the tasting menu which was superb, standouts were the salmon and beef tenderloin. Wine list was interesting with good value wines by the glass and a great selection by the bottle. Would highly recommend for a special treat, not cheap but still good value for what you get to enjoy.

Wowwwww this was such an amazing meal! Went for the chefs menu for a special night out and it was awesome. My bf isn't big on the foodie stuff so he wasn't into the uniqueness quite as much as I was but one dish he just didn't want to eat - I told them he wasn't fond of smoked salmon, and he was so embarrassed - i tried to ensure him that it's ok to say you don't like something (nobody likes to complain, but when you're paying this much you want to enjoy it!), and so they whipped up something else within 10 minutes and after that he perked up completely for the rest of the meal. They had such great attitudes and didn't make us feel awkward for turning away a dish, I even requested 2 different desserts and they made it happen. I was thrilled! I have to say - 6 courses doesn't include the palette cleansers. I was absolutely stuffed and I regret not wearing stretchy pants or loose fitting dress. My waistline changed from my rib cage to my hips.
The server was so awesome all the servers and hostess were friendly and helpful, my server even took care of a spider that found its way onto the table without even flinching. I guess black widows haven't had fatal bites on record since the 80's, what do ya know.

The place is stunning the food is divine. I will definitely return. They also allow single diners to order the chef menu which isn't always the case.

Totally recommend it if you love fine dining!

After years of intending to come to Rouge, we finally decided to act for a special event. We both chose to order the tasting menu ($120 each) but did not add on the $75 wine pairing (each). Apparently the wine pairing is about 3/4 of a bottle so we passed since I had driven.

This is a satisfying 6 course meal. We had expected tiny decorative serving and I had joked we could stop at Macdonalds on the way home, but we were both full at the end of the night. Each course comes out with enough time to fully enjoy the flavors, which led to a very enjoyable and relaxed dinner.

I had fully intended to review the dinner, but so enjoyed the experience I totally forgot to take pictures before the course was consumed. I did manage to get a photo of two of the courses.

One course which I did not photograph was a garlic risotto. Granted that I'm not a risotto expert, but this one I was served at Rouge was without question the best I've ever had. I'm still drooling....

It was a hot day at 36, but we were seated in the tent beside the building. Most sides were open which gave a very nice view of their gardens as well as a very refreshing breeze.

It was very expensive for two of us (pushing $400 with tax and tip), so I would not visit frequently, but imo it is worthwhile to visit occasionally for special occasions.

Our server, Miriam, was lovely and patient as we ask about the dishes.

Surprisingly, we adored the pork tenderloin more than the beef. The way they made potatoes were so interesting. It was a delightful experience.

It’s a pricey restaurant, and I’m rating it 4 since I wasn’t “wowed” by the beef nor the vegan lasagna.

However, looking forward to come back here to try their tasting menu.

I recently had a wedding event at The Baron and had an absolute amazing experience. From inquiring about the event to executing it, it was perfect. Thr staff was super accommodating especially with last minute changes. The food was incredible! They helped with setup and take down and did everything to ensure we had a great experience.

The price point is ideal for small to large groups. Plenty of hotels close by with an added discount. My out of town guests were close to the airport and major highways

Ill 100% use this venue again and will hire them for catering events also!

I cannot say enough good things about this space and the team at The Baron. From the moment I reached out and even after our event Shae, Sarah and her team have been so highly organized, friendly, and supportive.
I hosted our company awards gala at this space in February and was so happy with how everything turned out! The staff had everything organized ahead of time and were so easy to work with. We encountered some sound issues during our presentation which the staff helped out tremendously with. The food and drinks were lovely and our attendees loved how much parking was available!
We’re excited to host our 2025 events with them!

The Baron was amazing to work with for our October wedding! The space checked off all the boxes for the mood of our wedding. The food was so delicious and had a great variety to choose from. The staff was always responsive and provided top-tier service. Highly recommend if you are looking for an intimate gathering for a great price!

My program's graduation party was held at the Baron and it was such a wonderful event. The venue itself is a fantastic space - very intimate yet open. Both before and during the event the staff were incredibly helpful, had great communication, and took care of all details. Guests raved about the buffet and were so impressed with how well the kitchen accommodated a variety of dietary restrictions including halal, vegetarian, gluten free, nut free, and lactose intolerant. Everyone was also really happy with the variety of drinks and pricing at the bar.

We had a wonderful stay at The Dorian! Valet was super helpful, check-in warm and welcoming, and we were upgraded to a beautiful city-view room stocked with Aesop products, snacks, and drinks. Our sleep was amazing, the shower was incredible, and the bed very comfortable.

Room service went above and beyond—accepting a late order and even offering complimentary breakfast to resolve a steak issue. We slept in and skipped breakfast on checkout day, but the exchange point credit given instead was perfect.

Overall: chic boutique charm, excellent service, and a fun, stylish vibe. Perfect for a weekend getaway or quick stop on your travels!

The Dorian is a phenomenal establishment with a great name! The hotel is beautiful and the staff are incredible. The art in the lobby was very creative.

I would especially like to recommend that Baxter (valet) be given a raise. He was incredibly informative and friendly and made me feel right at home during our visit to this great place. I will be putting in a good word for him with management.

I stayed at this hotel last Sunday. The hotel itself was very nice, and the room was clean and tidy. However, apart from late check-out, I did not receive any of my Platinum benefits.
When I inquired at the front desk about the welcome gift, the staff member simply replied, “Only points.” However, according to Marriott’s Terms & Conditions, I should be able to choose between an F&B credit and welcome points, and for properties without a club lounge, guests should receive either points or complimentary breakfast in lieu of lounge access.
In my case, I only received the 1,000-point welcome bonus and did not receive any points or complimentary breakfast for the missing lounge benefit. I also did not receive a room upgrade (which I understand may not be possible at a busy property), nor was I offered the choice between welcome points and F&B service.
Furthermore, when I requested room slippers, the front desk told me they would be delivered to my room, but even after several hours, they never arrived. I had to follow up with a second staff member before I finally received them.
While I expected the service of a luxurious hotel, the staff’s attentiveness and communication unfortunately did not meet that standard, which left me disappointed.

Disappointing Experience – Far Below Marriott Standards

I usually never complain, but I’ll make an exception for The Dorian, Autograph Collection by Marriott.

I get that people would fairly rate this hotel very well—it’s beautifully decorated and stylish, and I’m sure my experience doesn’t reflect that of every guest. In my opinion, the issue I faced could have been resolved easily, but maybe I just had the wrong staff at the lobby this time. So, just be cautious.

I arrived early and politely asked for the room I had reserved: a King bed with a city view. I was even willing to wait until the official check-in time, so there was no excuse for not honoring the request. However, the room I received had no city view—just a view of the side of another building. When I followed up with the front desk, they claimed that no King room with a city view would be better than what I had. I seriously doubt that was true.

Second, be cautious with the “breakfast included” option when booking. Breakfast for one person costs over $40, yet all you actually receive is a $25 credit on the menu. Since the restaurant is inside the hotel and serves only hotel guests, this feels misleading at best—if not an outright scam.

Overall, this experience was well below the quality I expect from a Marriott hotel.

But to be fair, the room itself was nice—view aside.

My husband stayed here for a night after arriving at the Calgary airport on our way to the Rockies. I really wished we had had more time! The room, service, views, and food were all spectacular. I loved the many whimsical ways that Oscar Wilde was incorporated in the design and concept. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go downtown and enjoyed meals at the Wilde and Provisions bar. I was also genuinely impressed by the selection at the mini bar in the room, and would have tried more of the offerings if we had had more time. Highly recommend for anyone stopping in Calgary for a city break!

Our client had her wedding at this amazing venue and it was breathtaking! The decor and the details were stunning. We had a great time operating our Photo Booth at such a beautiful location.

I cannot speak higher of the Loft.

First, and most importantly, the main thing we wanted was delicious food for our wedding. The Loft delivered and then some. Everyone was raving about the food. We did the southern BBQ buffet style and it was perfect. No let down of a dish. I had to request to shake the chef's hand after our event it was so good.

Rebecca, our point of contact leading up to the event, was extremely responsive via email. She worked with my wife to ensure we were all setup, including accommodating every one of our tiny requests.

Apologies in advance because day of, we were assisted mainly by two individuals who have names that I am sure are often misspelled, but Steven (?) and Katelynn(?) seemed like they popped up exactly when we needed them with a smile to assist. We left our card box at home, they were able to provide one upon request. They made sure that my wife and I were fed and watered as well, which I was told by many married people before me is sometimes difficult to guarantee on your big day with all of your hosting obligations. They were pros and it showed.

The venue itself was breathtaking. Everything was taken care of in terms of big things for décor by Distillery Events. Because all of the décor was handled, including table runners and beautiful chairs, we could focus on the little things that gave the event a personal touch. We just handled the cake, a donut wall, our centrepieces, and name cards. Distillery Events has a list of recommended vendors, but we were allowed to bring in whoever we wanted to work with.

The hanging lights and exposed brick give a beautifully rustic feel. Our guests used words like "magic" and "fairy tale" to describe the atmosphere.

We thought it was perfect and exactly what we wanted. THANK YOU to everyone at Distillery Events for making the process so stress free so that we could enjoy one of the biggest celebrations of our lives.

A very beautiful spot for the wedding. F&B minimums are great, food was very good. The backdrop is as well perfect (if you are ok spending the extra $500, which luckily we got for free). The mulled wine in winter was amazing. Only gripe is loading in and out is tough, and it's not wheel chair accessible.

Good location to host a wedding for a small group of people. Food was great, staff were great. The venue looks amazing.

I had my wedding reception at the loft and it was amazing! Everyone loved the food, and the venue itself was so pretty it barely needed decoration! Melissa was my coordinator, she answered all of my questions leading up to my event and was such a great help the day of. We got the nicest photos in the distiller district before the event! Highly recommend :)

As the teams works diligently to get us back up and running Uber eats is work in progress as the drivers will have a better pickup door where parking is easy in anD out.

I stopped in for some takeout and was blown away by the food. Carribean home cooking is best way to describe it. He owners are super friendly and helpful aswell.

Second Phil in the reviews. Finally a place where Phils can go and feel at home. Award winning food. Award winning atmosphere, Rudy and Rhianna are sooo nice and welcoming. I've had the Oxtail, curry chicken, fried chicken, channa, salads, fruit salads, beef soup, cowfoot soup, chowmein, some kind of pork loin, all were awesome. Can't say enough about this spot. The hours aren't accurate on here. They usually don't show up until 5pm, and stay open late late. Come check it out.

Diners be warned! I got lunch here the other day. It tasted a bit strange, then my partner and I both got food poisoning. I’m not surprised, the place looked dirty, but I was trying to support a local business and try something new

Few places where you try the first bite and know it’s going to make you really happy. The quality of food is exceptional. As is the vibe, a cute date night spot if you live in the area.
They have good wine selections.

This is our second visit. We came on Sunday to celebrate a special occasion and once again had a wonderful experience. We shared several appetizers, the burrata caprese, Moretti meatballs, and perfectly char-grilled octopus—and every dish was spot-on. For mains we tried the cappellacci, pappardelle with lamb ragù, linguine vongole, and the eggplant parmigiana Veal Piccata, Fettucine Bolognese etc. All were fresh and well-seasoned, but the lamb ragù was standout.

Drinks didn’t disappoint either. The French Martini actually tasted like a cocktail and not juice—nice balance there.
Andrew took great care of us, walking through the nightly specials and checking in just often enough. Fresh bread kept appearing (dangerously good with butter), which was a nice touch.

The only miss was the “Italian” gelato; it leaned more toward standard ice cream and lacked that silky gelato texture.

Overall, fantastic food and service—just skip the gelato if you’re a purist.

It was our first time here to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We had an exquisite dining experience last night! The atmosphere is intimate with dim lights, and the interior design is very Renaissance/Baroque inspired. They have an extensive wine list and great food menu.
We enjoyed everything we ordered.

We got complimentary limoncello and a crème brûlée with a candle which made our experience extra special.

When we were leaving, the Bartender/Manager offered us a ride home because they noticed that our ride was taking longer to arrive due to the snow storm. It was a very kind and rare gesture, we will definitely come back again.

Exceptional service, great food and the live piano music in background has my heart. We visited during summerlicious and it was a steal deal. Definitely coming back for a date night.

IT was a good place not great (much better options in the area) but this place has been around for a long time. To be honest, the staff seem to have absolutely no humility (just my opinion) and they make the customer feel like they are very little. The food is okay but perhaps a bit too sophisticated for me. The atmosphere is very nice and they have fabulous music to compliment dinner. I wish they had dishes that were more familiar but perhaps this is the market they cater to. I will not be back.

Had a wonderful celebration dinner here tonight. We ordered several smaller and one larger dish to share. We thought the presentation and flavours of the dishes were thoughtful, creative, and tasty. We really enjoyed being able to see a bit of the action of the busy kitchen and admired the chef's focus and organization in the kitchen during dinner service. Our wait staff were friendly, attentive, and very professional.

Delicious food (I had the breakfast bettered fish sandwich), fast friendly service, pleasant vibes. If you're coming before noon on weekends reservation recommended.

I brought my mom here for Mother's Day brunch. I hadn't made a reservation, but they squeezed us in, which was much appreciated. We originally went to Chesterfield's, but there was a 2-hour wait. My mother really wanted an eggs Benedict and WGP didn't disappoint! We had to wait a bit for the food, but it was a busy weekend, and the chefs were running hard (so props to them and their diligence).

Overall, the food was good. My mom had the smoked ham eggs Benedict and was complaining about just wanting bacon, but when it showed up, she absolutely loved the smoked pork it was very tasty. She also enjoyed the mushrooms and tomatoes (very british).

I had the Wellie Salad as posted with the duck confit. The duck was so wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed the layers in the salad and it was so visually appealing. Only thing I wished was it came with a side of potatoes. I didn't get the egg on top (I can't eat them - no big issue), but wasn't offered anything as a substitute. I get it, busy brunch rush. I just wish there was maybe some bread or potatoes offered with the salad. Other than that, staff were great and so was service.

I will come back again for sure.

Dinner at The Wellington Gastropub – A Disappointing Return…

The Wellington Gastropub has long been part of our regular dining rotation, a place we have come to rely on for consistently tasty, satisfying food. But after a year away, we returned tonight for a friend’s birthday celebration, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to its former charm.

We were offered a set menu for the evening due to the size of the group. Things started off on a low note with the beet salad. It was bland, the fried halloumi was dry and just generally unremarkable.

The main course, a braised beef shortrib dish I have loved in the past and often returned for, was surprisingly disappointing. The cut was overly fatty, the dish lacked sauce leaving the meat on the dry side regardless of the fat content. The pepper crust was overpowering and overshadowed everything else on the plate. Oddly enough, the confit carrots were the highlight of that dish.

That said, my partner fared better, his smoked tomato soup was tasty, with a nice depth of flavor, and his Mariposa confit duck leg was more enjoyable than the beef.

Thankfully, dessert closed things on a higher note. The sticky toffee pudding was simple, rich, and deeply satisfying. A sweet ending to an otherwise underwhelming meal.

I have had many lovely experiences here in the past, but tonight just did not measure up. I am left wondering if the The Wellie will stay in our rotation going forward.

Great spot in Westboro. We came here for a birthday, and the service was amazing. The waitress took care of us through drinks and dinner and surprised our friend with a lovely dessert. Food was unique, and flavourful.

This steakhouse was recommended by a colleague. She said it was one of the best if not the best in Calgary.
She wasn't wrong.
The ambiance is exceptional. The dining room is an average size with a few wonderful bay windows.
Our server explained the food and answered our questions. She could not have been better.
I started with a shrimp cocktail and the cocktail sauce was out of this world. Spicy yet not too so, and obviously made in house.
My Steak Diane was very tender and roasted potatoes were perfection.
I had a caramel dessert and unfortunately the name escapes me. A custard with caramel sauce.
My daughter has the prime rib that she said was one of the best she's had. Incredibly tender and flavourful.
We will definitely be back. The staff here are amazing and the overall experience excellent. Thanks for a wonderful long weekend dinner.

Dined at Wellingtons for the first time Friday night, and my expectations were exceeded. The dining room was quite busy and to my surprise it wasn't all boomers 👵🧓 lol. Seriously though, we ordered the Peppercorn NY strip, Wellington (not pictured 🥴), Calamari and French Onion Soup. The steaks were cooked to a PERFECT medium and were fantastic. The onion soup.and Calamari were pretty standard, but fresh and tasty enough. Service was on point but they made me take off my peaky blinders style chapeau. Of course I obliged, but really lol?!

Service was exceptional, excellent food and great price point. Can’t remember the name of our server but she was wonderful. Will gladly come back next time we visit!

The Martha Cohen Theater is a wonderful spot to spend an evening. We attended Made in Italy on opening night and everything was just perfect. Every seat in the theater has great views of the stage, there are multiple bars, staff were extremely helpful and the catering offered at the end of the show was delicious. Highly recommend this venue to catch a show!

The inside of the place is very neat and organised. Every event I've attended here has been very smooth.

However, I wish the parking situation was given a little more attention too. Finding parking for any event is a nightmare, so always factor in extra 15-20 minutes.

Since moving to Calgary from Toronto I've missed going to musicals and live performances. It's been difficult to get passed the poor sound quality at other establishments but when I came here to watch a live production, this venues sound quality/system is much better. Although, it could be better, however, considering the fact that it's not as bad as other venues I'd consider this place a win.
I hope they upgrade and/or put more investment into a better sound system as it was very hard to hear the actors when they were speaking/singing on stage.
Can't wait for the next show at this venue!

Was here for a concert on September 2022, which was hold in Jack singer hall. The acoustics was super and I enjoyed the concert.

Though parking might be problematic sometime as the place is located downtown and the parking spots does not last long.

I recently enjoyed a wonderful dinner experience in Ottawa that truly deserves praise. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was refined and inviting—elegant without being pretentious. The service was exceptional, with Oliwier as our waiter. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm, adding a personal touch that elevated the entire evening.

The food? Absolutely divine. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Everything from start to finish felt carefully
curated, and it was clear the kitchen takes pride in both taste and artistry.

Highly recommend for anyone looking for an upscale dining experience with charm and grace.

Top place to eat. The flavors are perfect. We did not do the tasting menu, but it looks like something that should be done.
Each course was better than the last. The lobster bisque was awesome. The oysters have caviar on the., adding to the flavor and saltiness.

The location is great also. Able to walk downtown to see parliament and all of the government buildings all are a quick walk from the restaurant.

I had to change my wedding venue last-minute, and Connor and his team helped us create something extraordinary. The restaurant was the perfect setting, and comfortably held our 100 guests. The interior was elegant and beautiful, and the food was delicious. Highly recommend AIANA for your next event or dining experience.

Aiana gives the air of a Michelin aspiring restaurant, which is not a bad thing. They live up in number of ways. They start with a complimentary amuse bouche, and end with complimentary chocolate bites. I ordered the ribeye. It was a delicious perfectly medium rare, but not what I expected. Elevated I guess, not a full sliced ribeye, but it was cut with into a few slices of lean meat only. The accoutrements were tasty - I particularly liked the lentils. The service was friendly and professional.

The only issue I had was with the wine menu. The waiter suggested a wine - a Pinot noir that would go well at the table with my steak, a salmon dish, and a mushroom risotto. It was about $180. We indicated we were looking for something less expensive, perhaps a Canadian Pinot. He replied there were none but found us a French one priced about $80, which was quite nice.

The wine menu was on a tablet, and I asked the waiter to leave it so I could have a closer look. I did a search for Canadian red wines under $100. There were none. The small selection of Canadian wine were $160+ . A wine menu should have a good selection of wines at different price points - Michelin star included. Needles to say I was very disappointed in the wine menu.

Fantastic restaurant in the heart of downtown Ottawa! We had the tasting menu, which was delicious, and well crafted. They had to modify for my allergy, and for the most part accommodated well. Highly recommend going for the cocktails and atmosphere alone! Lots of space at our table, and the care taken place for all of the food was easily noted.

The hummus is smooth and flavorful, perfectly paired with spices and fresh mint; the lamb chops are beautifully seared on the outside and tender inside; the lobster is sweet and succulent; the grilled fish is well-balanced with its tangy topping; the tempura shrimp is crisp without being greasy; and the gnocchi with creamy mushroom sauce is rich and comforting. Alloy is an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The ambiance is warm and inviting, the service is top-notch, and the wine menu is impressive with something for every palate. The starters were standouts — the beef tartar was perfectly seasoned, the pork belly was rich and tender, and the Thai lobster salad was refreshing with just the right balance of spice and citrus. For the main course, the duck breast was a highlight: beautifully cooked, flavorful, and elegantly plated. We ended the night with the sticky toffee pudding, which was indulgent and the perfect sweet note to close out the evening.

I can not RAVE enough, absolutely amazing food. They bring you hummus and pita to start, I had the marinaded olives, truffle gnocchi, short rib for my main and sticky toffee dessert. I would get it again!!

The service was outstanding. The food was great, but the desert was a bit disappointing. The atmosphere was great, but the design of the couch circular seats were a bit inconvenient, as you had to scoot out of the seats everytime you had to leave. The tomato soup was outstanding and was my favourite part of the meal. I will most likely be back.

We have enjoyed superb dining experiences in Alloy since 2008, it is amazing that after so many years Alloy provided us the best dining experience in our recent visit to Calgary: terrific food, wonderful service and a cozy ambiance.
Our starters (Thai lobster salad, arancini) and our main dishes (beef short rib and lamb chops) were outstanding, same as our dessert choices.
David and Jorge made us feel at home with their friendly service and knowledgeable recommendations.

Went here on a Saturday night. Sadly the rooftop lounge was closed, but hopefully next time I am in CA it will be open. We got around 5-6 drinks here after having dinner at another place. I will say it’s not the cheapest but the atmosphere was great. The drinks were delicious as well. We sat at the bar and I had a good time talking with the bartenders and other staff. They were very attentive :)

Went for a birthday dinner and it was so good. We ordered shared platter Tommie which had tomahawk steak with parm potatoes and vegetables. We also ordered a ceaser salad and it was amazing as well. Only downside would be the music was too loud and we couldn’t hear each other across the table.

We went to Alora for a graduation dinner. Unfortunately we had to sit inside since the rooftop was closed for a private event.
Ample options on drinks menu, limited & pricey food menu. We ordered a couple of appetizers and they were delicious. In the mains, the halibut I ordered was overcooked and could’ve used some more pea sauce tbh & the cauliflower steak my husband ordered was bland. The saving grace was the lamb and chicken which our companions said were juicy and delicious.

A nice finding in Ottawa. Went there with my wife for our anniversary. The restaurant: The outside is very nice, the atmosphere inside is very cozy and intimate. Two small negative points: some tables were very close to each other, and the music level got louder, almost too loud, after 8pm ( maybe I'm just getting old!). We ate inside, but they have an outdoor terrace on the roof. First and foremost the setvice; it was exceptional thanks to Caitlin. She was always coming back to make sure everything was perfect. Even the co-owner, Arash, jumped in to make sure we had everything needed. The food was delicious, a bit pricey, but then everything is nowadays. The broccoli crunch was excellent, with a mix taste of maple syrup and peanut butter...just delectable! We both had the steak frites, which comes with fries, aparagus and peppercorn sauce; steak was a bit charred to my taste but still delicious. The fries are outstanding. Then we finished it up with crème brulée; one of the best I have had, ever. Then the co-owner, Arash, came to chat with us for 10-15 min. Nice gentleman. Very good experience overall. I would go back just for the fries and crème brulée. Highly recommended.

I've been here multiple times and it's my favourite restaurant in Ottawa. Last time I was serviced by a lovey waitress name Georia (or Georgina) and she was great. Food is really good, fresh and the owner is very friendly. Would deff recommend if you're trying tohost a bday dinner.

We had an affair to remember cater our wedding last week and I cannot say enough great things! From the beginning they were so kind and helpful. Throughout the planning process they were quick to respond, willing to do whatever they could do make things easier for us, and always happy to help. The food was nothing short of amazing! It was some of the best food I have ever had and our guests loved it too! I would also like to acknowledge how fantastic the servers/ bartenders were as well. You could tell they loved their job and were happy to be there helping our day run smoothly. They were all so kind, personable, and really went above and beyond. I cannot say enough great things and I am so thrilled that An Affair to Remember was part of our special day.

We had no clue what we needed or wanted for our parents anniversary party. From the moment I called it was seamless. They thought of things our family didn’t! The prices were affordable. Most importantly the service from the first call, the event for set up, during, after was first class. We actually got to spend time with our guests.

An Affair to Remember served us for our October 2024 wedding. The prices are transparent, the food is delicious, the drinks are poured quick, the staff are friendly and professional, and everything was packed up at the end of the night for us to take home. Josh and Matt were so helpful and accommodating with our last-minute menu changes. My wine glass was never empty and my plate was cleared very shortly after I finished my food (which was great since we had playing cards at our tables for our guests). Despite running around, socializing, and dancing I always made time to enjoy the food too.

The only thing I'll warn people is that the invoice does not include the gratuity fee (which technically is great financially, but it was something I missed initially). Please read the red ink and include the suggested gratuity if you can, I promise they deserve it. I happily recommend them to anyone and will likely use them again in the future for any catering needs.

Came here on a weekday evening to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The place looked elegant and the staff were friendly, explaining each dish.

The crispy potatoes they served at the start were amazing. For appetizers, the Foie Gras Vol-au-Vent was smooth and tasty (not too strong), and the Tartare de Bœuf with crunchy brioche and shiso was our favorite.

For mains, the 5oz Striploin was tender and almost melt-in-your-mouth. The Gnocchis Parisienne was okay but nothing special. Desserts were lovely, the apple-shaped cake was super photogenic with apple compote inside, and they even surprised us with a small cake and a birthday card.

Overall, the vibe was classy but still comfortable, and prices were more reasonable compared to other French spots. Great place for celebrations or when you want something a bit fancy.

The experience was truly outstanding. We took advantage of the Summerlicious menu, which offered incredible value— the same three-course lunch would have easily cost at least $40 more on a regular day.

Every dish was delicious, bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors. I ordered the steak, and it was cooked perfectly to my specifications.

The service was exceptional throughout our visit. We had an early reservation at 11:45 AM, and the restaurant quickly filled up. By the time we left just before 1 PM, the place was completely packed, a testament to its popularity.

The atmosphere was very calm throughout our visit. Even as the restaurant began to fill up and get busy, it remained tranquil and inviting. While the noise level did rise somewhat—which is expected when a place becomes crowded—it never felt overwhelming or disruptive. This time, we were seated inside, enjoying the cozy ambiance, but we’re already looking forward to sitting outdoors on our next visit to soak in the fresh air and the vibrant surroundings.

If you want to feel like you're in France without leaving the city, head to Auberge for a meal.

We went to try their Summerlicious menu, because honestly, it’s the only way we could swing a three-course meal here (yeah, it’s a little pricey). Overall, we were happy with what we had, though we were left wanting just a bit more.

We started with the soup and chicken liver parfait one each for the two of us. Honestly, the parfait wasn’t for me. It just didn’t suit my palate (or my nose).

But the mains didn’t disappoint. Both the cod and the steak were solid, but the real stars of the meal were the cocktail and dessert.

The gin, hibiscus, and elderflower cocktail was incredibly refreshing. Like a breath of fresh air on a summer day. The desserts were excellent too. My favourite was the lemon tart: perfectly balanced and beautifully done, with a touch of raspberry inside.

Their outdoor patio is gorgeous, and the service is exactly what you’d expect from a fine dining spot.

Just had lunch with a friend at this lovely French restaurant and everything was absolutely wonderful. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces are beautiful, with a fantastic atmosphere that made the whole experience even better. The service was warm and attentive, and every dish we tried was delicious. Even the bread served before the meal was so good that I couldn’t resist taking one home to share with my family. A truly delightful dining experience!

We went here after having a disappointed dinner somewhere else, the dessert here made me happy and had trust again in Montreal 🥺 Thank you to the Bar team service, after talking, we decided to spend our last meal on this trip here tomorrow lunch 🥺

Update: We went for the lunch the next day and it was phenomenal. We asked if we can get the beef wellington for lunch and they prepared it for us. The duck breast on the lunch set menu also very tasty, the dessert here is very something remarkable, every plate did not disappointed, it well-done, not overly sweet but just enough and layers of flavour just go so well together.

Bar George offers a stunning atmosphere reminiscent of medieval Europe—easily one of the best settings in the city.
The food is decent, and the service is polite and quick, but the prices are higher overall.

Steak dishes are generally excellent, and the truffle gnocchi is delicate but not quite worth the price. The lobster risotto isn’t bad but has a distinct curry flavour. The mushroom soup is rich and flavorful—highly recommended. Most main dishes come with potatoes, so there’s usually no need to order extra sides.

Despite glowing reviews, the curry chips lacked flavour, and the truffle mashed potatoes were average.
Wine is extremely overpriced—around four times the retail price.
Nothing caught my attention this time, so I skipped desserts, which is rare for me.

We went to Bar George in Montreal to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and had such a great experience. The atmosphere was beautiful with a chill nightlife lounge vibe—classy but relaxed, and perfect for a special occasion.

My boyfriend had the beef Wellington and absolutely loved it. It was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. I had the black truffle gnocchi, and it was so delicious. You could really tell the quality of the ingredients and the care put into the dishes.

Our waiter was also incredibly kind and accommodating. They knew we were tourists and made us feel really welcome, taking the time to explain things and check in on us without being overbearing. Overall, it was such a memorable night and a great choice for a birthday dinner. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food and a lovely vibe in Montreal.

The building itself is a feast for the eyes, offering a unique and memorable atmosphere. While the cocktails are serviceable, they don't quite reach the "wow" factor, and I think a bit more flair or sophistication in the drink and snack menu would elevate the experience.

That said, it's definitely worth a visit! This review is for the bar only.

I had an amazing dining experience! The food was exceptional; especially the Beef Wellington, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Service was impressively fast, and our waiter Zachery was an absolute delight. He recommended the perfect dessert and was incredibly accommodating with my non-alcoholic drink requests. His friendly and attentive service really elevated the experience. Highly recommend this place, trust me, you won’t be disappointed!
