We visited in February 2025 during a less busy time, the restaurant was beautiful on the outside and on the inside. The food tasted incredible and the staff were friendly and professional. When my grandfather suffered a medical emergency, the staff handled the situation calmly, professionally and compassionately. Thank you to our server Kass for her outstanding service and friendliness! Will eat here again!

We had a reservation at a different restaurant in the market for a special event last Saturday and the place closed without any communication to us, we were left without a venue to host our guest. Luckily 18 was able to accommodate us and made the evening a special experience.
Our waiter, Nick, was very attentive and professional. The food was good. They were very accommodating given it was a short notice.

Great food and great service! We arrived around 6 on a Friday evening, and they seated us right away. The waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive. The fois grass and burrata were very tasty. The steak and the magret de canard were good, and the creme brulee was to die for.

The absolute best meal I have had in my life, and its not even close.

After tonight I feel like good food can be measured on an exponential scale. This made the second best meal I've had in my life feel like it was leagues behind.

I had my birthday dinner on Thursday night and It was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. Food is amazing, the decoration is elegant and the service is absolutely outstanding. Every single employee we met there was super friendly and professional. The moment we arrived at reception desk I have been recognized and greeted Happy Birthday with warm welcoming. After we sat down the server brought me a birthday card signed with whole team.She even scattered some cute spangles on our table. How sweet is that! Our servers including the young lady who brought the steak to us and demonstrated the hot buttery plates were super friendly and welcoming. The dessert was served with a lighted birthday candle with Happy birthday writing on the plate. We will definitely come back to this restaurant again and definitely recommend friends and family to this restaurant for the excellent service and the fantastic food as well as the beautiful environment.

Both steaks were cooked to perfection. And the lambs and brussel sprouts were fantastic. Steak was cooked exactly how we asked for.

Above all, the service and experience were amazing.

Our server Scott and his assistant Mark were absolute Gem. From the moment we sat down, Scott took good care of us and was extremely knowledgeable about the steak cuts and wine selections.

Scott and Mark and the team went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect.

The restaurant itself is high class and the food was outstanding. The steak was cooked to perfection and the dessert was truly amazing.

We’ll definitely be back, and we’ll even ask for Scott again!

We celebrated here on the day of my graduation, and it was truly memorable. The service was excellent, and the food was absolute perfection, worth every penny. I especially loved the ambiance, with its stunning view overlooking the streets of downtown Calgary. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be coming back.

This will always be my number one go-to restaurant whenever I’m in Calgary for three reasons:

1. Unmatched Quality – My steak (pictured) was perfectly cooked and topped Oscar style — with buttery crab meat and velvety béarnaise sauce that elevated an already incredible cut of meat to the next level. Every bite was pure perfection.

2. Exceptional Service – The staff treat you like family while maintaining a level of professionalism you don’t often find. They anticipate your needs before you even ask and make you feel welcome from start to finish.

3. The Atmosphere – Elegant yet comfortable. Whether it’s a special celebration or just a night out, the ambiance makes the evening truly memorable.

Ruth’s Chris is simply unbeatable for the perfect steak experience in Calgary

Amazing Steak 3 Course Prime Time Dinner for $79pp at Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Calgary Alberta. Steaks were cooked perfectly medium rare in their 1800 degree broiler and then served in 500 degree plates with butter. Service was amazing 👏. I upgraded one of the meals to a 12oz Rib-Eye for $29 and added a house wine for $12. Sides & toppers were included as well. @ruthschrisyyc @thefoodiecarguy

Last week, I was hosted by Wanderluxe Destinations and some key travel advisors were invited. We had a private table in back, maybe 15 of us farm to table style. I have never dined here (always wanted to) always nice when you are hosted but my word, this was such an incredible experience. Your staff were exceptional and very intentive (I used to cater) and been in the travel business for 27yrs and very well travelled, plus hosted to many private events all over. The farm to table menu was so fabulous!! Food waste is also important and the fact that you packed things up for all of to take away meant so much. I got the left over short ribs and potatoes. Trust me husband and my 16yr old loved that. The food was so good, I am just so impressed. I have great pics just not sure how to include that in my review. I let Wanderluxe know (as they paid) we were happy.

Teatro offers a refined dining experience with excellent service and atmosphere, which made it a great choice for a wedding venue. The food was very good overall, with the halibut as a highlight and the tiramisu fantastic. The pork dish was less enjoyable, with too much fat, but the rest of the meal more than made up for it.

Amazing- was in the private dining room for a professional conference with a speaker & dinner. The food was incredible! Beat my expectations. The portion sizes were great. There was a piece of cardboard on top of my salad, but it made me laugh more than anything. I'm sure it was a weird accident.

The pasta bolognese was amazing! I sat at the bar & Jeff was an exceptional bartender, so personable & attentive. I had the Bordeaux wine…Delicious! Jeff let me try some of the other reds also but the Bordeaux was my favorite. The Raul Silva Espresso martini is incredible & I was skeptical. Would recommend for anyone visiting Calgary.

We had the absolute pleasure of celebrating our anniversary at Teatro Restaurant in Calgary, and it was an unforgettable afternoon from beginning to end. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for.

On our table, there was a beautifully handwritten card signed by every single member of the staff, congratulating us on our special occasion ,such a thoughtful and personal touch that meant a lot to us.

We were warmly hosted by Chef Camilo, whose presence added a personal and genuine charm to the night. Our server, Danielle, was exceptional, attentive, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable. She recommended a bottle of wine that turned out to be just perfect for our afternoon.

To start, we had the calamari and oysters, both fresh and absolutely delicious. For our main dishes, we shared the funghi pizza and the eggplant parmesan, which were rich in flavor and beautifully prepared.

To finish, Chef Camilo personally brought out our dessert a stunning lemon cake that was the perfect sweet ending to an already incredible meal.

The ambience and decor of Teatro are simply breathtaking elegant, intimate, and full of character. Every detail of the evening was curated to perfection.

Thank you so much to Teatro, Chef Camilo, and our lovely server Danielle for making our anniversary so special. We’ll cherish the memories and definitely return soon.

Had the pizza and meatballs from The Good Son and wow — they do not mess around. The pizza was perfectly blistered, with that irresistible wood-fired crust that walks the line between chewy and crispy. Toppings were fresh, balanced, and full of flavor (you can taste the quality). And the meatballs? Juicy, rich, and swimming in a sauce I would happily drink with a straw

We recently dined at The Good Son and were thoroughly impressed! The ambiance, paired with great music and thoughtful decor, sets the stage for a fantastic dining experience.

Absolutely fantastic dining experience! The food was a perfect blend of comfort and innovation, flavorful, beautifully presented, and served in a timely manner. The cocktails were also excellent, well crafted and full of flavor. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it a great spot for both casual and special occasions.

Our server Francois was amazing, friendly, attentive, and incredibly professional. He, along with the rest of the staff, made sure our water glasses were always full and that we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed.

Inviting atmosphere, friendly staff, and standout wood-fired pizzas and burgers. Many diners highlight the cozy, interesting decor and the service is attentive and welcoming. The atmosphere is the highlight here. There could be a bigger menu option in my opinion. But regardless the options are amazing and tasteful. I recommended for its food quality, relaxed vibe, and as a great option for both casual meals and special occasions.

Everything about The Good Son was fabulous. We were early to our reservation but they said it was no problem at all. The servers were quite friendly. We ordered the Carnivora Pizza and The Good Son Burger, and they were both unbelievably delicious. The pizza was not thick and not overly thin, with the right balance of cheese and meat. The burger was incredibly juicy with one of the best fries I've had. The fries were a lot like McDonald's fries, but crispier and more golden lol. The restaurant's vibes and ambiance were so unique. There are old and antique clocks and pictures all over the walls which makes you feel like you're in a Harry Potter movie. Cannot recommend this place enough! :)

Excellent view. If you can get a table on the patio, it is definitely worth it for the view. You might have to wait for a table but it's definitely worth it in my opinion. The service was excellent and the food was terrific. The environment of the restaurant is classy and I will definitely recommend people to check this place out.

The venue is absolutely gorgeous and there was a wedding going on so it was a bit loud, but we were still able to enjoy each other‘s company. The food was really good, but I wish I ordered something different. The service was also top-notch. The servers were very attentive and accommodating.

Enjoyed brunch outside on the patio with a beautiful view. It over looks the golf course. We ordered the salmon benedict and corque madam, and both were good! Their portions are huge. Their hashbrowns are crispy and well seasoned, it was our favourite.

We visited The Lookout Restaurant at Lynx Golf Course recently, and overall, the experience was decent. The highlight was definitely the beautiful view — it’s a lovely spot to sit and enjoy the scenery. The food was okay, nothing particularly memorable but it got the job done. One thing I really appreciated was that they allowed us to bring our own cake with no extra fee, which was a thoughtful touch and made our celebration easier.

On the downside, the restaurant seemed to have some maintenance issues — only one bathroom stall was working, which was a bit inconvenient. And while the food was acceptable, it didn't quite stand out.

If you're going for the view and a low-key meal, it’s a solid choice. Just don’t expect anything too elevated from the menu.

The atmosphere in the café is very welcoming. The food not only tastes great but is also beautifully presented. The view from the terrace is stunning.

We had a fabulous experience from beginning to end. We came after a play and on a Sunday afternoon and they were able to accommodate us without a reservation. Our server was fantastic he walked us through the menu and answered all the questions that I had about the restaurant. We did the Sunday dinner menu. What a fabulous value! It is $45 per person and is served family style. We reserved a soup, salad, lasagna, chicken legs, seasonal veggies and two desserts. Each course was delicious and provided a great variety. The server told us about their water program with a different charity receiving the funds each month. There was no pressure to buy the water - we did but the two tables beside us did not and there was no difference in service.

The courses were brought out at a good pace. We didn't feel rushed but we were left waiting.

The aesthetic was gorgeous and added to the enjoyment of our meal.

I just wanted to review the amazing cod fish and chips since I couldn't find any photos when I was picking my lunch prior to stopping in. Huge portion, lightly battered, killer fries and the slaw with picked onion is perfection. I worked at a fish and chips place for years and this is the best I've had in Calgary hands down! Definitely worth a try if you are a big fish & chips fan! 🐟

Stopped in a for brunch and was delighted with our meal. We had the crab Benedict and the Korean chicken and waffle. Absolutely amazing. Service was good and the food was spectacular. My only complaint was the Diet Coke was by the can without refills. We will be back’

An absolutely wonderful dining experience. Our waitress Wendy was truly so sweet and wonderful to be around. The food was fantastic and service was fast. They even gave us a complimentary scoop of ice cream for my boyfriend’s birthday.

Gosh superb busy Wednesday lunch time….has to schedule more servers to work. We were waiting for AN HOUR before could even order just because our server didn’t come to us. There was no loud music however the space built the way that it is just super noisy, I literally cannot hear person seating next to me because she has soft voice. I personally had to almost scream talking to people across the table. It was exhausting.

The only good thing about this place is lemonade. Rich sour-sweet flavor! Never tried better!

Food is pretty average and portions are small. Grilled cheese with roasted tomato soup is not fulfilling enough. I would recommend to grill bread on salted butter because it’s missing salty flavor. Cheese is almost tasteless. Nothing special... And I was so excited to try this one though…

All day after lunch I had bad feeling in my stomach.

Absolutely amazing! Breakfast was great, pool was a blast. Highly recommend if you have kids. Almost wish we didn’t have to leave.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights and had a pretty good overall experience. Check-in and check-out were seamless, and the room was clean with all the basic necessities provided. The bed was comfortable, which made for a restful stay.

We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub — a nice bonus! The hot breakfast buffet was excellent, with plenty of options to choose from. The hospitality team was very friendly and welcoming. We especially had some great interactions with Rose, Rodel, and Val — they really added a personal touch to our stay.

Great value for the price. Would definitely consider staying here again!

Customer service was excellent! Despite a very busy weekend, the front desk ladies went out of their way to accommodate us. Hotel was welcoming, friendly staff, free breakfast was great & very well stocked. Rooms were clean & comfortable. Will definitely be staying again the next time I am in the area

The staff was very accommodating with requests from our young family. Bonnie was able to confirm a room near the banquet room that allowed me and my wife to utilize our baby monitor while our little one slept, which kept us enjoying the event a little later into the evening. The breakfast in the morning after was also very good, much better than most continental breakfasts at similar hotels. Thank you!

We always stay here when driving from B.C. to my parents in Saskatchewan. It's clean, rooms are well appointed, the pool area is fab and the breakfast is plentiful...coffee is also delicious. This last time, we had a wonderful person check us in, he was accommodating, went beyond with customer service and gave us a 10 percent discount for our one night stay. Thank you. We celebrated Father’s Day at Via Allegro Ristorante, and let me just say....WOW. I’ll admit, pulling up to a strip plaza had me second-guessing what kind of restaurant we were walking into. But the moment you step through the doors, it’s like entering a completely different world: upscale, sophisticated, and absolutely stunning. From the walk-in wine fridge to the pizza ovens and elegant decor, every detail is beautifully curated.

We arrived about 30 minutes before our reservation during a very busy dinner service, and the staff didn’t miss a beat and graciously seated us within 10 minutes. That level of accommodation and attentiveness really stood out.

The service throughout was exceptional. The staff anticipated our needs before we even asked and catered to every member of our family with warmth and professionalism, it truly elevated the experience.

And the food? Top notch. Yes, it’s on the pricier side, but worth every penny. From the appetizers to dessert, everything was flawless and we all left happily stuffed.

I had a fabulous time at Allegro this weekend. The service was spectacular - Ben was super attentive the entire evening and the food was exceptional, especially the Sea Bass. The wine list was also impressive. I will definitely be back again real soon!!! 5 stars all the way!

Highly recommended!!! we had a small party of 20 people and everyone was having a great time with delicious food and service. We started with big portions of shareable appetizers that everyone could try everything and finished with shareable tasty desserts. There was nothing left to eat next day unfortunately 😂The main course had different choices and were prepared to our liking. The service was very friendly and efficient. Overall, it was an amazing experience that we would like to repeat again and again 😁thank you

My wife and I recently had dinner at Via Allegro Restaurant to mark a special occasion, it was the day after our wedding anniversary.

From the moment we arrived, the experience was excellent. The ambiance is refined yet warm, making it an ideal place for a celebration or a relaxed evening out.

We ordered a variety of dishes, and every single item was delicious. Each plate was prepared with attention to detail and balanced flavours.

The ingredients were clearly fresh, and the presentation reflected the standards you expect from an established restaurant like this.

The service was attentive without being intrusive. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu and made thoughtful recommendations when we asked.

Overall, it was a memorable dinner and a perfect way to continue our anniversary celebration. We will definitely be coming back and would recommend Via Allegro to anyone looking for quality dining in the area.

By far the best salmon I’ve had. The calamari and drinks were also out of this world. My only complaint is the small portions and lack of extra color on the dishes. They felt very basic

My family and I had such an amazing night at vieux port steakhouse. The staff kindly welcomed us when we walked in and our waiter Elias was the best. He was a very nice person to talk to and was very very welcoming. The best waiter i can ever ask for. The food was also very good and atmosphere was warm and relaxing. Will definitely return!!!

I’d say the lobster was good, but the steak wasn’t so great….. One thing I REALLY didn’t like was how the tip was handled. Instead of simply giving me the card machine, the server directly asked, “How much would you like to tip me?” I felt very uncomfortable having to say the amount out loud instead of entering it myself. That didn’t feel right or professional.

Also, the tables were way too small—more like café tables—which really took away from the dining experience. The overall atmosphere wasn’t very nice either.

I came here for my anniversary, and honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this place for a special occasion. I was very disappointed. However, if you’re just planning a casual dinner, it might be fine…. But just be aware of the tipping here

Overall a neat place, we came here for dinner. When making a reservation on open table I asked for a terrace seat in special requests and we got a terrace seat :D

You do need to go round the corner to the other entrance for the terrace, it has a different entrance. I thought it was a pretty nice spot. You probably need to somewhat like being outside for that spot though, personally I liked it but my sister didn’t. Was nice to watch the birds but there were some bugs outside.

Service was good, their english was pretty fluent, nice people. Food was okay. I probably would come back to try out other things on the menu. Location was nice since it was by the port, you could check out the science center or the Ferris wheel before or after.

Had the chance to check out this reputable establishment in the beautiful old part of Montreal city. We must have caught them on an off busy night. Service was good. Asked for a few forgotten items, whiskey sour was terrible and the steak was away overcooked but tender escargot was nothing to write home about . The room(s) are beautiful with a mixture of modern and old classic brick and stone giving the atmosphere a very nice touch . I'd check it out again. Just when you're paying these prices I expect a little more attention to detail, Tourist season or not. I would give it a try one more time ☘️🤙

Very good Italian food. They gave a bread refill without asking, extra points! Pizza was classic, the risotto was a bit on the saltier side but still good, steak may have liked it a bit med rare, fish was only ok compared to the rest it was not as seasoned. Happy to come back again.

Stopped by Villaggio Ristorante a couple of weeks ago for dinner before a movie and to catch the Leafs game. The atmosphere was cozy and perfect for a relaxed night out. I had the scallops/lobster risotto—it was rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The gnocchi, however, was just okay—the texture was a bit too mushy for my taste.

Overall, still a good experience, and I’d come back to try more from the menu! Oh and the Tiramisu was yummy 😋

Outstanding flavours, impeccable service!
Enjoyed a delicious family dinner at Villaggio last night. The Pasta, pizza and steak entrees were all mouth watering and cooked to perfection which reflects the wide range of expertise that the chefs deliver in every dish. Plating is meticulous and very aesthetically pleasing as are the rich flavours in each meal. Sausage pasta was cooked to perfection, pizza was crispy and flavourful and the mouth watering steak was tender with amazing flavors that were embedded in the herb infused butter. The atmosphere is relaxing and servers are so attentive, friendly and not at all intrusive. The collaboration between kitchen and service staff is palpable!

First time here, and the food was really good! Everything from the seafood salad to the pizza was delicious. Would definitely return and would highly recommend.

I was craving seafood and then found this restaurant. The warm seafood salad just became my favorite dish. Every bites of that was well balanced. Thanks for this BOH team to make the best seafood meal. I will definitely recommend my friends to visiting.

I recently visited Volo’s Greek Restaurant with my family for a birthday celebration, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The service was outstanding — the staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel so welcome.

The food was absolutely amazing — every dish was full of flavor and made with the freshest ingredients. You can truly taste the quality in every bite. From the appetizers to the main course, everything was served beautifully and on time.

We had such a lovely time, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend Volos for anyone looking for authentic Greek food.

This time we visited Volos for a special occasion and it did not disappoint. The food was excellent and the service was great, attentive without being overbearing. A lovely spot. Highly recommend!

Not only is this a beautiful restaurant downtown, but the food is amazing. If you’re lucky you’ll get Mimosa as a waitress and you’ll walk away feeling like you just were at a small family gathering on a Greek island. Thank you I very much enjoyed my meal with you all and thank you Mimosa for making it that much better!

Decent, not really worth the price. The decor and atmosphere is great, but the service was pretty mediocre given the price and expectation. I had the salmon, which was good but wasn’t anything special. If you want greek food I’d just suggest visiting the danforth for equal or better quality, but at half the price.

The food was great. We both love Mexican food, and honestly the great reviews influenced the choice to go here. Our server was great and took good care of us. The atmosphere was authentic. We could see many others clearly having a good time and the place was surprisingly busy for a Monday evening.

We shared the house salsa tasting platter, and a platter of 6 tacos. The food was excellent all around. I especially enjoyed the tasting selection of salsa, dips, and chips (warm chips!). Of course we also each had a margarita - him the mango, and me the blood orange.

I would definitely come back if I were in Calgary again. I highly recommend this restaurant. A++

My boyfriend and I came here for the first time and we were blown away! The food was amazing, so flavorful and fresh, and the service was just as great. We were greeted right away and taken care of the entire time, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely one of the best Mexican restaurants we’ve been to, and we’ll 100% be coming back! 🌮✨

With the warm weather, everyone was sitting outside — it’s 🐶pet-friendly too, which we loved.

We visited Añejo on a Sunday afternoon during happy hour, and although it was quite busy both inside and out on the patio, we were lucky enough to get a table without a long wait, even without a reservation. The atmosphere was lively but welcoming, and our server, Abraham, was absolutely amazing! He was warm, professional, and attentive. He really took great care of us and made the whole experience even better :)

One of the highlights was definitely the fresh guacamole! If you order it, they bring all the ingredients to your table and make it right in front of you. You can even choose how smooth or chunky you want it, which adds such a fun and personalized touch. It’s not just about the flavor (which was incredible), but also about the experience of seeing it made fresh right there at the table.

We ordered some Mexican dishes, tacos, quesadillas, and a round of margaritas and tequila. Everything was full of flavor and came out hot and satisfying. It was the perfect way to enjoy a weekend afternoon, great food, great drinks, and a team that really makes you feel welcome.

We went during happy hour and got a variety of tacos and guacamole with tortilla chips. The guacamole and chips were good, but the tacos were just okay. There are definitely better taco spots in the city for less, even during happy hour. Service was good, atmosphere was also good, moderate noise.

Tucked away in the heart of Old Montreal, this restaurant offers a truly delightful dining experience. We shared the Swiss cheese fondue (minimum for two), served with hot Earl Grey tea that perfectly balanced the richness of the cheese. The grilled halibut with potatoes featured fresh, tender fish, though the flavor leaned a bit sour for my taste. The cocktails were superb — beautifully crafted and flavorful. The atmosphere is exquisite: elegant, slightly mysterious, and perfect for a special evening out. It is on the pricier side, but still worth it for a special night out.

This place is awesome. From the friendly service to the never ending parade of servers that takes care of all your needs. Not to mention all the food we had were excellent.

We had the fondue, roasted eggplant, rack of lamb, and the orecchiette. To finish the night, we had chocolate mousse, peach cobbler, and the lemon meringue pie.

Let me start by saying, this was the absolutely most incredible meal that we had in Montreal over our 5 day stay. Just wow!

The atmosphere, the music, the fireplace, and the food were outstanding! I had a small but special request in advance for the chef for my meal and they eloquently obliged this request.

The wine selection was perfect. Let’s talk about the filet! Perfectly cooked and so tender! Order the spit grilled cauliflower - absolutely to die for! The brioche buns with rosemary sage butter were a delicious treat! Also we loved the mashed potatoes with incredible sea salt flakes hitting the palate perfectly.

We have been wanting to come here for more than 20 years and it did not disappoint! 5 Stars ✨ We shall return!

I’m not a huge fan of Italian cuisine but the tasty food that came out of this place, knocked it out of the park. The pasta was amazing. The calamari fritti was crispy and light. It was paired with an amazing sauce that my partner and I could not stop eating. The fresh complimentary bread was great but when it was paired with their spicy olive oil, it really elevated the bread. All dishes are made to order. The service was amazing. The waiter we have was very knowledgeable about the food and took their time helping us decide a dish. I’m coming back here for sure. Thank you for the meal and service!

Biagio's is such a hidden gem! I have been here a couple times with my husband and each time the service has been amazing and the food delicious! We love their 4 cheese pizza and their cocktails. Our server is always really nice. We'll keep coming back for sure

The food was so good! Maybe the best calamari I have had in years! Well organized so that we were on-time for the comedy show downstairs! We will be back soon!

I recently visited this Italian restaurant with high expectations, and while the food was delicious, the service and ambience fell short.

The pasta dishes we ordered were cooked to perfection, and the kalamari was crispy and flavorful. The tiramisu dessert was also a highlight - creamy and decadent.

However, the ambience was a bit noisy, making it difficult to carry on a conversation. But the biggest letdown was our server, Meghan. She was overly pushy and rushed us throughout the meal, trying to clear the table even when we weren't finished. It felt like she was eager to end her shift, rather than providing attentive service.

Took my aunt here for brunch for her belated birthday and we had a great meal here. Service was wonderful - very attentive and they even provided her with a birthday dessert after our meal. I ordered the truffle omelet and a side of fries and enjoyed my meal. I came here a few years ago and they had a 3 course brunch menu - hope they bring that back soon!

Located inside the Four Seasons Hotel, we celebrated a friend's birthday. The dishes were exquisite and delicious, and the service was particularly thoughtful. This is a good gathering place. The duck is a must-order dish, and the waiter will help us cut it before serving it.

This was my fourth visit. It's one of my favorite restaurants, with a great view, a clean and stylish interior, and a very pleasant atmosphere.
I used to really enjoy their tasting menu, but this time it didn’t leave the same impression. The plating and presentation are still beautiful, but the flavors felt less inspiring. Perhaps the slightly high price also influenced my feeling.
Since being listed as a Michelin‑recommended restaurant in 2022, something seems to have changed, and I felt a little sad about that.

The ambience is great. Restaurants blessed with a great view often have a reputation of the food not measuring up to the view. That is decidedly not the case here. We opted for the chefs tasting menu. Everything was taste great and was presented with imagination. It was a substantial amount of food. Kevin, our server was excellent. He was both personable and professional. Would definitely go back again.

As the other reviws say, the food is completely average and over-priced but the view and service is next level. Overall,4/5 but the food definitely 3/5, so average.
I wentthrough the "summerlicious" menu and had 3 options of choice:
1)appetizer, I chose the the veal tatin and it was the worst out of 3. So bad, so small, nothing fine about that. 2/5
2)main course: Striploin beef. 3/5. The beef was really pro and wow, carrot was almost raw and bland. Mashed potato below average but there was a sauce which was a real Michelin sauce, so good, so rich but so little and most of that was absorbed by mash potato. They could serve it on table.
3) lime tarte. 5/5. Flawless, takes u to Paris. Wow.
Service:My server was the most polite person in Toronto and made my night. Remarkable polite and attentive.

I first went to Canoe for my birthday in February 2022, and went back again in September 2025. Cable's claim to fame is definitely the amazing view of downtown Toronto, the islands, and Lake Ontario beyond, and the view alone makes the trip up to the 54th floor worthwhile.

The highlight of my latest trip to Canoe was definitely the desserts. Although staff were very friendly, it did seemed like they were busy/rushed at times. Experience was different back in 2022, where it seemed like we got more frequent service, but I also question if I just look more fondly back on my previous trip due to nostalgia and it being my birthday celebration.

Have to say the food was good for most the part!

I was a bit disappointed with the carbonara dish as felt it was lacking a bit. However had a taste of the chicken vodka pasta my friends had and it was very good and the pasta was cooked perfectly.

Whereas mine was just a bit undercooked.

Will be back again to try something else!

Worst experience ever! We ordered as a starter an eggplant frittata. We were expecting a proper Mediterranean frittata and they brought breaded fried slices of eggplant on top of arugula and cherry tomatoes.
As a main dish, I wanted ravioli. They advertise GF pasta but the raviolis are not GF. So, I ordered the bass. The tiniest piece of fish I've had seen in my life. It wasn't fresh. And it came with a gigantic mountain of just arugula that they call "salad" and 3 tiny baked potatoes. We tried to send it back and the waitress was visibly annoyed. She didn't allow us to send it back. We had to eat the horrible tiny fish.
As a side comment, we had to hear people shouting in the kitchen.
With that terrible experience at the end, we didn't tip and the waiter was so unprofessional out of her mind that she shouted profanities.

Absolutely the worst restaurant experience I’ve had. A Special birthday event was carefully planned and the 7 of us walked out 40 minutes after arriving. We at that time had still not ordered anything. They were out of white wine and told us we had to drink red because that’s what you drink with Italian food. The worst atmosphere and service. Please shut down or make improvements to this restaurant. You can start by putting the right sign on the front door. It is a neighbourhood embarrassment.

Amazing Italian food! The wood-fired pizza was full of flavor, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. The staff was very friendly, making the experience even better. Highly recommend!

Situated in the corner, this restaurant offers a welcoming look into the establishment through plenty of windows on two sides. We walked into Cellar Door on a late fall evening and the warmth of the place enveloped us. The smell of wood fire was in the air and that was very pleasant.

The cocktails were good and the recommendations from the waiter were on point. The Cellar Door salad was excellent as I have a weakness for a crisp salad topped with warm fixings.

The Fromage Arancini was very well prepared. The crusty yet light exterior complemented the smoky cheeses that were mixed into the rice. The spicy tomato sauce was a perfect accompaniment.

The spicy shrimp and zucchini pizza offered a very unique and delightful taste combination. The wood fire pizza looked great when it was presented. The first bite was memorable. Unfortunately, there was too much oil in the pizza and it quickly soaked through the bottom and congealed on the plate. The dough quickly became soggy and the rest of the consumption experience became slightly unpleasant.

The house made penna cotta was fresh and delicious. A little firm for my liking but it was thoroughly enjoyable!

Great time and fun experience. Went here for me and my girlfriend’s third year anniversary and it was an incredible time. We ordered an appetizer as well as two mains. She got a ricotta ravioli and I got a seafood risotto. Both were excellent and full of flavour. We also had the seasonal soup, which was also very good. After our meals, the staff helped bring out a surprise anniversary cake that my girlfriend had brought in earlier; They didn’t charge a cut-fee or anything to store the cake, which was very sweet. Great experience and great staff. They helped us enjoy a great anniversary overall. Definitely recommend trying this place out.

We absolutely loved our dinner here. We opted to share appetizers and every single one was delicious. Our server was friendly as well, and offered some off-menu mocktails which tasted great too. The food, service, ambience are all 10/10 - looking forward to coming back!

The atmosphere was nice and lovely. I liked the jazz music. I would say the service was a little less than standard. I went with a pretty big group and for the standard of the restaurant the service was not so great. I did really enjoy the profiterole and the shrimp risotto. My main course was the lobster bisque but wasn’t as good. A lot of my friends also didn’t fancy the food.

I cannot say enough good things about Chez Lionel Kanata location. I highly recommend this place for brunch. If you're into more "crunchy" food - i recommend not ordering the Benedict as it's very "soft" textured - which I love! But some may be more used to the crunchier texture of bread rather than soft. I also wanted to mention that I think the waiter forgot to ask how we like our eggs - but it was still fine. I think my friend prefers her poached eggs a little more on the medium/soft side.

We are definitely going to come back!

We were a little disappointed with our meal at Chez Lionel. We had heard such great things but we were let down.

Cons:
-I ordered the duck breast. My duck was uncooked, the rice side was burnt to a crisp, and the meal overall tasteless. My replacement meal of the risotto was a 5/10 with it being overcooked but it was still edible.
-There were many malts that were listed on the menu but the server let us know only one was actually available.
-it took our poor server (and eventually the manager) 11 times to take our payment as their POS system was not working with multiple efforts from multiple machines.

Pros:
-We arrived for our reservation right on time and the hostess was sweet and guided us right to our table. No wait. It was not overly full but still busy enough. They placed us in a corner near the bar that was perfect for as we wanted some quiet.
-Our server was an older gentleman who definitely look tired but experienced. He had shared he had a few late evenings with some sports, which as sports fans we understood, but he did come off a bit direct (which we were okay with but some may not have enjoyed his personality). He was quick to get us some drinks and answer our questions on the menu.
-The manager was quick to replace my uncooked meal, she was understanding and took my feedback kindly and respectfully.
-My replacement meal came out quickly and was met with the manager confirming it was to satisfaction.
-Drinks were yummy.

We wouldn’t rush back to Chez Lionel, I think if you wanted an app, or a drink it would be a great spot. When I asked about the chef I was told they had been through approximately 4 chefs since open, and many staffer, so I would think some things across the board are being changed or worked on.

A cute and cozy spot with a nice selection of French-inspired dishes with lovely presentation. Good list of mimosa. On Saturday they don’t serve lunch menu at 12:30, so we proceed with the brunch menu which was good for adults but limited for kids. The food is good overall, though not quite amazing. The croque madame had quality ham, though the cheese and sauce could have used more flavor. The avocado toast was fresh and tasty, and the French fries were excellent. The kids’ French toast had good flavor but was a little soggy. In general, it’s a charming place near Parliament Hill, worth a visit for the atmosphere, but the food still has room for improvement.

Cocotte Bistro is an absolute gem!

An Unforgettable Dining Experience at Cocotte

From the moment we walked in, Cocotte delivered on every front. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing — warm, inviting, and beautifully designed to elevate the dining experience. The food? Simply exquisite. Every dish was a work of art both in presentation and flavor. You can tell there’s passion behind every plate.

The wine selection was outstanding, perfectly curated to complement the menu. But what truly took our evening to the next level was the exceptional service, especially from our waitress Milena. She was absolutely incredible — knowledgeable, personable, and spot-on with her food and wine pairing recommendations. She made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for throughout the night.

This is easily one of my top five restaurants, and we left already planning our next visit. If you're in the area, do not miss this place — Cocotte is a gem. Highly recommended!

I took my wife to lunch here. The atmosphere is quite chic. And a little different. It feels like I’m in a library with a 10 story skylight. There was also beautifully decorated outdoor patio seating.

The staff were very courteous. And helped us with the menu and choices. Always eager to help. The food came quickly as well and was quite tasty! Slightly on the expensive side. But not overly. It cost $120 for apps and two sandwiches. And two drinks (cocktail and wine). I wouldn’t particularly bring small children here though. I would go back.

I stopped into this restaurant for the first time as a visitor to Ottawa. I wandered around DT choosing this place for its rating and French-forward menu. It as busy when i arrived so as a single i was asked if could sit at the bar, no problem, i didn't see any tables to accommodate me anyways, and it continued to be busy through the evening. I want to give a shout out to the amazing bar staff on the evening of Sept 26th, 2025. It took me a while to get a drink, but the bar-tender was hustling like, crazy, he was basically a one man show. I ordered a simple glass of white wine, and the salmon (which i had come specifically to have) and it did not disappoint! Just delicious. It came out in a pretty quick time considering how busy the restaurant was. I will admit i was only checked on once during, and ordered a second wine but overall enjoyed myself and watched the entire staff ( host/waiters/bar staff) run around like crazy, but a well oiled machine, smooth, professional. Helping each other, including behind the bar etc.. impressed overall with the staff, in particular when a few other patrons at the bar decided to be rather unpleasant ( one actually got upset when the host didn't recognize him as a "regular patron" and was offended and rude to the host.. ( totally uncalled for, people really need to check themselves) host took it like a champ, apologized etc... NOTE: I wish i had gotten the name of the bartender that evening ( tall slender younger fellow) who was on point, he deserves specicial recognition in this review. Beautifully crafted cocktails under immense pressure and knows his craft, i sat at the bar for over and hour and he didn't miss a beat. He took a moment to verbally thank me for being easy going and a pleasure a the bar (which means perhaps others had not been) Sadly I'm not from Ottawa, as i would return here no doubt. Only 4/5 stars on atmosphere as in the main dining area connected to the lobby/sitting at the bar, it was really loud, would not have been the best for a conversation etc.. but overall really great.

I love love love this place, and am so happy we had our wedding here! We got married one week ago at the Enoch Turner School and truly had the best day ever. Its charm in my opinion means less is more. We added a big disco ball in the middle of the room and smaller vases throughout windowsills and in tables. But the place was gorgeous and not lacking!

Stacey was extremely helpful the month leading up to the event, and I cannot be more thankful!

My only caveat was that I was unaware that the person I was communicating with was not going to be there day of until about two- three weeks before. We didn’t have a planner, but I’m super type A so it wasn’t the biggest deal, just would have liked to know sooner!

As a wedding photographer, I'm always excited to shoot at the Enoch Turner Schoolhouse. I love the minimal look with the historical character. The property shared with church next door is great for your wedding photos. If you want more options the Distillery District, Corktown Commons and SOL Atelier Photo Studio are nearby. The staff is super friendly and hard working. Definitely recommend!

Visited for Doors Open Toronto 2025 and it was a beautiful space! Loved learning about the first school in Toronto.

Very affordable wedding venue! Ben who was on site for rehearsal and ceremony was great to work with. Roxann, great email communication and was lovely meeting her on the day as well! They have two easels for use, little chalkboards for small signs, and the schoolroom was perfect for a bridal suite - hair & make-up had no problems with their setup and there are four available electrical outlets in the schoolroom. With the main room close to 150 people, it does get hot in the summer.
