I've been here 3 times now, each time with a different stylist. Each one has been proficient at their craft. The salon seems to vet their staff well.

I had a lovely experience with Sarah this past visit. She took time to listen to what I wanted and helped make decisions based on my hopes and her expertise/opinion. My hair is not very forgiving with mistakes but Sarah had great attention to detail. I'm really happy with the results!

Aimee’s work is one of those things you’ll always try to recreate but can never quite achieve unless it’s done by her. I met Aimee in 2019, she quickly became a trusted stylist and friend. When working with Aimee, we always went for front layers with transitional bangs, now known as the butterfly cut. She always brought my vision to life without cutting too much, and she styled my hair in a way that looked effortless (no tight curls here). A few years later, we parted ways as we both moved. Since moving out of the country, I’ve asked for the same style, and while a few cuts from other stylists have come close, nothing compares to Aimee’s work. I always walk out of those salons comparing my cut with how Aimee used to cut it. Safe to say, she is the best stylist I’ve ever worked with. If I ever find myself in the Calgary area, I would happily go out of my way to see her and have my hair cut and styled by her again.

We had a fantastic experience working with Jem and her team for our wedding day. From the make-up and hair trial, to the hair and make-up on the day, Jem was so helpful, prompt, and created a wonderful wedding look for myself and the MOTB and MOTG. The touch-up kit was also very handy throughout the day but I didn't really need it as the make-up remained in place. I only did touch ups on the lips - after eating! I would very much recommend this team and would work with them again for any future events.

I don't even know where to start! Everything was top notch with Jem; the service, the punctuality, the quality of her work. All I had to do was sit back and relax 😌 I had such a lovely time during my appointment and would hire Jem in a heartbeat for any other occasion. She's a true Gem 💎 Thanks again 😊

This review is a long time coming but finding the words to adequately thank Jem for what she did on my wedding day have escaped me.

I contracted a separate makeup agency for makeup and hair services for myself and my 5 bridesmaids (3 total artists contracted). The artists were switched out multiple times due to varying reasons, ending up with the aforementioned agency being required to contract out for my hair and makeup services as well as two services on bridesmaids.

Jem saved my wedding day. Period.

The two artists from the other agency were not prepared (no makeup lights, extension cords etc.) and honesty just didn't bring the vibe necessary for a wedding day. The quality of their work was not up to the level promised by the agency as well.

Not only did Jem make me look my absolute best, she fixed the other artists work and provided them with lights and cords (and some professional choice words when they asked me- the bride, to clean up the lights). She was SO much fun , and made me feel so comfortable on my wedding day. I don't typically wear makeup or have my hair styled so she explained everything to me and answered all of my questions. I had a few bridesmaids ask for her information after because of how impressed they were with her work.

Jem, thank you from the bottom of my heart. We got my wedding video this past week and theres a clip of you doing final touchups before I did my first look and I just remembered how awesome our morning was together. You are so gifted and you bring such positive energy to every room you enter.

Working with Jem and her incredible team is the easiest most amazing experience - every time! I routinely recommend this team to my bridal clients without fail and without hesitation. Right from initial inquiry, the information provided is timely and incredibly detailed. You are left feeling prepared to make an informed decision. For trials and the lead up to services, Jem and all of the artists certainly take the time to go through an analysis of your skin, and make recommendations for what will work best on your wedding day. She is always providing advice, and always willing to listen. On event days, Jem and all of the other artists are on time, professional, pleasant, and do a damn good job at making everyone in the chair feel special. If I could put 10 stars, I would. Gen is absolutely impeccable in her work, her pleasant demeanor, her connection to her clients and her over-the-top professionalism. She goes above and beyond and even set us (bridal party) with custom touch up kits.
Our makeup lasted all day (and then some) and was identical to the pictures we showed her for inspiration.

After bopping around to several different salons when I first moved to the area, I finally found this place. I've always been well taken care of at this salon. Their stylists are incredibly talented, and they really care about you being happy with how your hair looks. One thing- because they are so amazing, be sure to book far in advance, because time slots fill up quickly!

Yadge was an incredible part of my wedding day and I was so lucky to have someone so talented to be able to style my hair for our special day! I went into my hair trial not having much of an idea for how I wanted my wedding hair but Yadge took some of my inspo pictures and a photo of my wedding dress and came up with a style that was beautiful. She also recommended adding extensions on the day for fullness and it made an incredible difference. She is also incredible at working with many different textures of hair which was important to me to accommodate my bridal party. My Mom and my bridesmaids commented the whole day on how sweet she is and she was a beautiful part of our morning getting ready. Thank you Yadge!

I would recommend Zo to anyone looking to feel beautiful for their special occasions. She went above and beyond to accommodate me and her communication was great. All i did was send a couple of inspiration pictures to her and she took care of the rest - AND NAILED IT. If you’re nervous about being able to communicate exactly what you’re looking for - don’t worry. She asks questions throughout the whole process with multiple check ins to make sure you like what’s happening and if you want to adjust anything, it’s no problem at all. I had a fantastic experience getting a haircut with Sydney today! She is so friendly and made me feel super comfortable. My hair was in desperate need of a refresh, but I am clueless about what works with my slightly wavy texture. Sydney worked with me to create one of the best haircuts I've ever had, and she even gave me styling tips. I will definitely be back!

I wanted to pass on my biggest shoutout and recommendation for Alicia at 1977.  Each time I’ve seen Alicia she has been so attentive to what I am hoping to accomplish with my hair while also looking out for my very sensitive scalp at the same time. She creates such a great experience.  After one specific appointment I had questions about the best after care for my hair and she went above and beyond on her own time to make sure I had everything that I needed.  It’s rare to find someone with that level of care for what they do, alongside incredible knowledge and skill for their craft!! I had my first visit at 1977 Salon last week to see Colby for a cut and toner. Colby is a fantastic stylist and a lovely person. The cut, shape, and styling of my hair made me feel and look my best. The best haircut I've had in a long time.
The front desk staff were attentive and welcoming. The space is lovely.

My hair was all the way to my butt and had a lot of breakage, split ends and was very dry and brittle… it just needed the love it deserved after not being touched by a stylist in a few years. I’ve had such a horrible experience with salons in the past but decided to bite the bullet after finding 1977 on Google and reading through the website and reviews, scheduling my appointment with Karly.

My first note was the atmosphere, beautiful decor, very calm and inviting, I instantly felt relaxed and at ease. The receptionist welcomed me with a warm smile, offering a beverage as I waited. Very friendly and professional.

Karly was amazing right from the bat! She made me feel so much more excited with her energy and the way she introduced herself. Her scalp massages were next level and she was so thorough with making sure I left with exactly what I wanted. Although it was just a cut and style, she really paid attention to detail, explaining the process along the way while also making me feel like I was in the best hands. Her friendly demeanour, professionalism, talent and love for hair will definitely have me back in her chair in no time. I felt like more than just a client and that speaks volumes.

10/10 would recommend this salon. The way the staff interacts with one another and the clients, the calmness and positive energy and talent is just not worth missing out on. Plus, my hair hasn’t looked or felt this good in years. I was expecting to lose a lot of length but Karly is Houdini and wouldn’t allow it, I don’t know how she did it.. but she did! Great cut and style!!

I've been coming to Atelier Peaufiner for years! Shoko is a pure magician and always knows how to style my hair to make me feel fabulous. Her talent is undeniable. I’ve been a client of Laura and Shoko for years and they’re both always kind and professional. Laura is an expert when it comes to nails. She’ll give you the most flawless and durable application (make sure to try her nail art too!). Shoko is an amazing and experience hairdresser, she managed to get my forever short and damaged hair to grow long and healthy. Definitely one of the best places to be in Montreal!

This is one of my favourite places in Montreal. I have been to so many places to get my nails done and rarely have my manicures lasted more than a few days and my gel manicures more than a week. But here, I have been able to make it to 4 weeks every time! It has such a great atmosphere and seriously makes my day every time I get my nails done :) I just got a design for Valentine’s Day and I have never loved a manicure more!!

This is my first time getting my hair and nails done at Atelier Peaufiner. I absolutely had a great experience here. I’m so in love with my balayage, it’s just exactly what I wanted 😍 The salon has a great vibe and everyone was so friendly and talented.

I had such a great experience at August Salon with Akshi! I have wavy-curly hair and was a bit nervous about going for a short haircut, but she made the whole process feel exciting and comfortable. What a great salon! They carry my favourite davines products and I had made an appointment for the color glaze and blow out promo. I was excited to see what the glaze would do for my grey coverage and root regrowth. I had a great time with Candice and left with a beautiful blow out style. I have gotten my haircut done by Romulo twice now and both times have been excellent. I tend to get bob haircuts and Romulo takes the time to explain how it will sit and what styling each option would require. Highly recommend.

I hired Slava and her team for my wedding day and she absolutely delivered! Each of us had our makeup done and two of us (bride and orange dress) also had our hair done. I booked Bridal Secretary for bridal trial and wedding day hair/makeup. My eyes are quite sensitive (and I don't typically wear makeup), and Betty made sure I was comfortable and relaxed as she offered me choices for eye liner / eye lid tape / mascara / fake eyelash. She was so gentle and patient, and listened to my preferences while encouraging me to try different looks and hair styles. I had so much fun during the makeup trial and could not have been more happier with my experience! On my wedding day, Betty was so organized and did a wonderful job, for myself as well as my parents. I hired makeup artistry by Corrie Elle to do my wedding makeup last fall. I had the absolute pleasure of being paired up with Kyra, a young and brillaint artist who not only made me look *amazing* but also listened to me! My wedding wasn't traditional, and she nailed the look I wanted, rather than giving me what everyone else gets. Kyra was punctual, professional, pleasant, funny, and as I said before, VERY talented.

I had the chance to have Corrie do my hair and make up for my weeding in September. I was beyond pleased and it was worth the amount. I had an unfortunate experience with my bridal trial at a salon and was left scrambling with 8 weeks to go until the wedding. It was luck, but Corrie was available on my wedding date. The trial was amazing and the day of even better. She listened to what I wanted and I felt like we worked together. I was only getting ready with my parents and sister the day of - so quite intimate - and Corrie felt like family. I felt like a million dollar on our wedding day and I have Corrie to thank for that.

Naomi, Senior Artist from Corrie Elle Artistry, was fantastic! For my trial, she started with a "baseline" version of my inspo pics and then built on it until it was exactly what I wanted - I loved her collaborative approach. She's patient, fun, lovely to work with and very good at what she does!! My make up lasted through about a million happy tears on my wedding day :) Naomi was also very patient and flexible with my mom, who only wanted her eyes done and preferred her own products. Corrie (owner) is also great - very communicative and proactive. My originally assigned artist suffered an injury just before my trial and Corrie immediately gave me multiple options and got things resolved. Weddings are stressful enough, I was very thankful she was on top of things. For reference, I have olive toned, dry skin if that's helpful for anyone evaluating fit. It was very easy to book with Corrie Elle. They have packages but were able to create one based on my needs (makeup for 4 bridesmaids, hair for mother of the bride, hair & makeup for myself, and 4 hours of touch up service). Corrie was always very responsive to my emails and questions.

Myself and my wedding party had never worn false lashes before but Corrie's Senior Artists Alison and Ty picked the right ones for each of us - and trust me, they weren’t kidding when they said “premium lashes.” We could not feel them at all!

Both artists arrived to the venue right on schedule. I did a makeup trial with Alison ahead of time and had pictures for my hairstyle. She brought my hair idea to life and wove in perfectly the hair jewelry - everyone commented on how beautiful it was. Alison kept me picture-perfect ready for all my photoshoots and ensured my hair around my shoulders was always placed properly and that I never looked shiny (it was a summer wedding, so heat was a factor). She helped place my veil when it was time, and helped take it out after the ceremony. She even quickly redid the braid and hair jewelry to make sure it would stay in place all night long, as it had been 6 hours since she first completed it. She is truly a professional with a bright personality and was easily able to cover any imperfections in my skin with the airbrush makeup. She also did a fantastic job with my mom’s hair - and all we communicated to her was the idea of it and she brought it to life.

My bridesmaids also loved Ty. Ty also has a bright personality and made sure to ask a lot of questions before working on each bridesmaid so she could match the right type of makeup to them.

I would 100% recommend Corrie Elle to anyone looking for onsite makeup and hair services!

I cannot recommend Emilia enough! She was incredibly professional from start to finish and truly understood the vision I had for my 2 part wedding look. She was able to create a look that lasted all day between both the Chinese Tea Ceremony and evening reception. She came fully prepared—even bringing her own lights to our house—which really impressed me. She made me feel like the absolute best version of myself.

What touched me most was how beautifully she did my mother’s makeup—it was truly the biggest gift. Seeing my mom feel so confident and radiant brought tears to my eyes. Her entire team was also amazing: organized, kind, and truly got everyone on the bridal party’s vision.

I have never felt as confident and beautiful as I did both times Emilia did my hair and makeup. Working with her was a dream come true and it's hard to describe how kind, generous and just generally lovely she is.

Ermilla did an outstanding job with my hair. I came in for a balayge colour and trim, and wow, I'm beyond happy with the result! Ermie has been cutting and styling my wife's hair for over a decade! (She was her hair stylist for our wedding) Her professionalism and care for the craft is unparalleled! She pushes herself to get better with courses abroad (not to mention she teaches courses too) and learns the latest trends.

Shannon has given me the confidence boost I needed all in one haircut. She listened exactly to what I wanted and delivered above and beyond my expectations. Has great tips for styling but still keeping things low maintenance.

I've come here for a cut & colour for myself (with Tasha) and a kids cut for my 5 year old (with Brittany). Tasha is amaaazing at what she does, and is so kind! I asked for low maintenance highlights/colour, it's grown out really well and I'm very happy with the results.

They have a great vibe with all the plants and products for purchase displayed throughout, it's really warm and inviting.

For my kiddo's cut, Brittany was super patient when my kiddo was nervous, and gave him a great cut that is also low maintenance and more even than what he has gotten from one of those kid themed places. It was not that much more expensive than one of the gimmicky kids places, and they had books and toys for kids to look at to feel comfortable as well.

And last but not least, they do workshops here, I did an embroidery one recently led by Happyhobby that was really fun, again with the vibe of the location it was calming and fun to take part in a class like that in the setting.

All that to say, they have many highlights (no pun intended lol) and I would recommend them for all your hair, plant, and event needs 🙂
