I used Glamaway Beauty for my wedding, and had an AMAZING experience. Myself, 4 bridesmaids, and my MIL had our hair and makeup done by Erin and one of her assistants. All of our hair looked incredible, and our make-up was flawless. They came to our hotel early in the morning, were right on time and could do absolutely everything we asked for in terms of hair and make-up. After a 12 hour wedding, including being in a windy park for pictures and partying at night, we all still looked flawless! My make-up and hair looked exactly as it did right when it was done by the end of the night. I couldn't recommend Glamaway enough, they are AMAZING. A huge thank-you to Erin and her team for making my wedding dreams come true with perfect hair and make-up!!

Such a fabulous experience with Glamaway Beauty for my wedding. I have had my hair done by Erin in the past so knew she was the one I needed for my wedding day. I was thrilled when Erin said she would travel out for my BC wedding, as booking hair and makeup in another province was stressful and intimidating. I received so many compliments about my hair and makeup as well as my bridesmaids. Glamaway makes the entire experience fun and truly make you look and feel beautiful.

Our makeup looked good throughout the day and the colour matching she did with foundation was great. There were some small details that I had to ask for that I felt should have been covered (lash edges lifting, blending edges of eyeshadow) but Erin was great at taking feedback and fixing/adjusting as requested. So be open with her regarding anything you have concerns with!

In hindsight, I wish I would have done a hair trial but it was something that I could not financially justify for the wedding. My curls had fallen flat by the ceremony and I was disappointed when our photos came back.

Erin was very friendly and provided a calm environment on the morning of the wedding. Erin was very responsive to emails, which I appreciated from a wedding vendor.

I've been seeing Tahira for over a year now, and I couldn't be happier with the results. My hair is noticeably healthier, shinier, and finally growing in a way it never did before!

Tahira is so welcoming and friendly and has a deep level of knowledge and skill. They truly listen and work with you to understand your hair goals and needs (never pushing products or services unnecessarily, which I really appreciate). It's always a collaborative experience, and I leave every appointment feeling confident and cared for.

She cuts with precision and pays close attention to my hair’s individual needs. I have tight curly/coily hair. We did a hair cut, colour /highlights and my hair feels healthy and soft.

This was an amazing experience! I was in town for a wedding and found this salon on Instagram, so really didn't have any expectations. They went above and beyond and I was so happy with the results. From check in to leaving, everything was great. I loved my hair wash and head massage. Tahira was extremely talented and had great suggestions for my hair that ended up really nice. I had no reference pictures for my makeup and really left it in her hands and she did amazing. I had so many nice compliments on my look all night and even many locals asking where I had gone. Would love the opportunity to work with Tahira again if I am in the area.

Char did a great job on my hair + she was very professional, letting me know the kind of products she applied to my hair and all.

They canceled via text the night before my wedding...

This experience was the most unprofessional, negligent, and disappointing interaction I have ever had with a company. I connected with Sushmeet via email in June 2025 and we began discussions about her team doing hair for myself and 6 others on my wedding day, September 13th 2025. We went back and forth a few times sorting out details but by July had confirmed all the details and were simply sorting out if we would do a hair trial. From the outset Sush knew the wedding was in Tamworth Ontario and provided the quote for three stylists to travel and attend on site to do hair.

Each email interaction with Sush was perfectly lovely and communicative. Until the end of August when communication wound down and I began to get stressed. Sush told me on August 22nd that she would send the invoice and deposit details over “shortly”, however I unfortunately had to follow up several times. The weekend prior to my wedding (my bach weekend sept 5-7) I had still not received it, despite being told I would get it that weekend [on Sept 1st.]

Tuesday September 9th I received an email template from someone on her team stating that Sush had been in a car accident and would not be able to attend the wedding. In that same email I was reassured that they would be sending a team of three senior stylists to ensure everything goes smoothly and to the standard expected. The individual said they would send the invoice and timing details. I replied that day to confirm and send positive wishes to Sush for a speedy recovery.

Then I heard nothing....

I reached out several times without reply. Friday September 12th I was at the venue setting up with my wedding party and family and still had heard nothing from anyone on the House of Blush team. I called at 6:30pm and someone picked up and said they would touch base with the team and call me back, but not to worry. I waited anxiously with my family trying to problem solve as I had a pit in my stomach based on the reply.

At 7:40pm I finally heard back...not with a phone call as I was told, but with a very long and incoherent text message telling me that none of the stylists wanted to drive to Tamworth.

If I had not called at 6:30pm, they would have simply not shown up at my wedding. The whole experience was completely unnecessary and heartbreaking. It stole my mental peace and time with my family and close friends the night prior to my wedding, and impacted my sleep as I worried about putting this responsibility on my bridesmaids. I had opted to do my own makeup to save on costs and time, but with all of the girls doing both our own makeup AND hair, meant it also stole my relaxing time with them on my wedding day. We also ended up being late for the ceremony and experiencing unnecessary stress. I would have preferred honesty and transparency in the first email from the team and would have rather they cancel at that moment as opposed to reassuring me that all will be well, only to almost ghost me for my wedding.

Highly do not recommend.

House of blush by sush was the best pick I made for my wedding day hair and makeup! Sushmeet and her team were absolutely phenomenal for my wedding! Sushmeet catered to my requested time and location and look, giving me , my mom and my bridesmaids THE look we all wanted. She gave me the best experience for my trial day and came through with all her skills to make my wedding day look to be everything and more of what I had envisioned! Would not have gone with any other makeup artist team after I seen what she can do on the trial day, and I have absolutely no regrets after seeing the what she did for my wedding day!

Sush and her team are amazing! They totally nailed the hair and makeup — exactly how I wanted, with zero stress. Super professional but also so easy to vibe with even my grandma got her makeup done and she looked so adorable.

I booked myself with sean for a haircut and he dud not disappoint! I don’t write reviews that often but I had an amazing experience which drove me to do this. He listened to every single request I had & delivered everything I wanted from my haircut. Would definitely go back!

I started going to John Steinberg when they were at King and Portland - a ten minute walk for me. When they moved to Dundas West, I considered staying closer to home, but the team is so good that I now "commute" to 906 Dundas West. It is a very unusual salon: excellent service, very professional and highly skilled, but also laid back and comfortable. They sometimes bring their dogs to work - what more do you need to know? You can expect to pay a bit more - but you will never be disappointed.

Came for a blowout with Jazzy! Turned out amazing and lasted the whole day! The products she used was also not too over powering in smell and did an excellent job to keep the shape of the blowout. 10/10 recommend and I will come back whenever I need to look my best for an event!

As a Mother’s Day gift my family treated me to the 2 hour Japanese Head Massage. It was incredible. June and Flora’s second location on 5th Avenue is the most adorable boutique salon. I was welcome warmly by Sabina and she took care of me the whole time. What impressed me was that she took her time explaining everything, talking to me about my scalp and hair and answering all my questions. I was pampered. I LOVE the fact there is no one else in the salon allowing complete silence and privacy. No hairdryer or talking going on in the background. This to me, is worth the little higher cost. The products were fantastic and again Sabina was nothing short of professional. Thanks for making this experience amazing and I will be back!

I had a great time with Sabina at June & Flora. She advised me on how much hair would be good to cut off and did a great job shaping my (very thick) head of hair! I left with lovely loose curls that I kept flipping around for the rest of the day. I definitely recommend June & Flora and Sabina for your next trip to the salon😄

I've struggled to love my curls for years, but after seeing Anya for a curly cut, I can't stop looking at my hair—I haven't felt this good about it since I was a kid! As someone with curly hair, I was really nervous going in since I’ve had so many cuts that didn’t work with my curl pattern. But Anya was incredibly patient, really listened to what I wanted, and also helped set realistic expectations for the volume I was hoping for (spoiler: she nailed it!). She also shared some amazing tips on how to care for my curls. On top of all that, she's super kind. If you’ve ever thought about getting a curly cut, I can’t recommend her enough.

My experience with Klava was excellent! They did the hair and makeup for myself(bride) and 2 of my bridesmaids. They were very accommodating on scheduling the trial as I was coming from overseas. I also don't usually wear much makeup and have had some bad experiences in the past with my makeup being "professionally" done. I was very impressed with their work and their kindness. I would highly recommend them!!

I booked a makeup lesson with Klava because I'm getting married in the countryside and want the day to be as low maintenance as possible, including doing my own makeup. She helped teach me how to layer makeup for a long lasting look and help transition from the day to the night time. She also used a combination of her amazing products which I have now purchased and my existing ones to help me build a wedding look that will make me so happy on the day of. Klava did my makeup and makeup for my bridesmaids at our wedding in June 2025. I was so happy with the final look. I really have never felt more beautiful. I have had professional makeup before and this was by far the best makeup experience. It took some time for me to decide what look to have in our practise session and she was super patient and gave me the time to decided. I was also super nervous about my making being too heavy and she really listened to what i wanted and made a look i really loved. I think she is also very skilled in understanding what will look good on someones colouring. My make up held up really well.

Got my hair done by Sasha and she did everything right. She listened to my needs about wanting to dye my hair. When I asked for a trim and said I wanted no more then a few cm she listened and pulled through. She kept me constantly hydrated on a hot day. And made me feel relaxed and pampered. She saved my blunt a** bangs and layered my hair perfectly. She has amazing conversations and does her best to read if people. She’s super sweet and will take care of all your hair needs and wants

Update as of March 2025: the salon has only gotten better. Kirsty is so thoughtful and takes great care of your hair and really listens to what you want. Can't recommend enough!

March 2024: I had the best experience with Kirsty. She was so attentive and explained the process to me every step of the way. I'm beyond satisfied with my hair - the pictures say it all. She was on time and the quote I had for pricing matched what I paid. I take great pride in my hair and her work was cut out after a difficult bleach experience elsewhere. Five stars. Six if I could! She even offered me her banana because it was a long appointment. I loved the decor of the salon- even under renovation it was super cute! Every staff member I interacted with was genuine and friendly. I felt at home.

I got my hair cut by Kirsty once and I loved it. Today I went to trim my bangs a little and give them a different style, and I was surprised that it was free, and I liked the cut even more! Kirsty is truly someone you can trust when it comes to figuring out what style might look good on you. I’m extremely disappointed with the unprofessional behavior I experienced by Kirsty!! I had an appointment for hair coloring, and the stylist didn’t follow up with me until the last minute. When I finally received a message, I clearly explained the color I wanted and that I didn’t want bleach or highlights.

Just a few minutes later, I was told it couldn’t be done without bleach, and since I hadn’t replied sooner (even though I wasn’t given much time), my appointment was canceled.

Now I’m left with no hair color right before an important event. This is incredibly frustrating and inconsiderate, especially for someone who was a regular client. Definitely not the level of professionalism I expected.Never gonna back there this is disrespectful!

Viktoriia is such a gem to work with and absolutely incredible at what she does. I had a terrible bridal trial for my Indian wedding a few weeks before I found her, and I am so glad I ended up booking Viktoriia instead.

She worked with me to create the perfect soft glam look for my hindu ceremony, and also dolled me up for my pre-wedding sangeet. Everyone was raving about my hair for the sangeet as well!

Viktoriia also did a superb job with my dupatta setting, and tikka setting. Both did not budge all day, even through the hindu ceremony and post ceremony photoshoot.

She is so kind and thoughtful, and despite my family chaos on the wedding morning and sangeet evening, she continued working diligently and meticulously. My entire family loved all the looks and I highly highly recommend her.

Sara did mine and my sister hair for my wedding this past weekend 06-16-2024 and she did an amazing job!! My hair was exactly as I pictured it! She tweaked what I wanted and was super sweet about it. In the end, she did a fantastic job, ensuring I looked beautiful on my special day. Sara and her team did a great job with my bridesmaids and me; our makeup lasted all day, and while it took a while, it was worth it.
One piece of advice for future clients: don’t hesitate to specify throughout the process what you like and what you don’t, so she can create the perfect look for you. Her dedication to making sure I was completely satisfied was truly appreciated.

After struggling to find someone to do my makeup and hair for my wedding, I found Sara online. I reached out to her and she got back to me with details about when she was available and pricing. Her booking process was refreshingly professional and easy. I really enjoyed the makeup and hair trial with her. She travelled to our location at Elora Mill Hotel. Our wedding was an elopement and without bridesmaids there wasn't a lot of bustle. Spending those hours getting ready with Sara was like spending time with an old friend. She is so lovely. She did an amazing job on my makeup and hair. It was raining that morning so humidity was high. I have fine limp hair and it doesn't stay in place well. Sara made sure that it did. The makeup and hair lasted the entire day even with the humidity! From the touch up kit that she gave me I only needed to touch up my lipstick a little after drinking hot tea. The Elora Mill Spa had moved up my appointment by 15 minutes cutting my time short with Sara. She graciously took it in stride and had me ready on time. I highly recommend Sara's services and I will certainly call on her again if I have need for them in the future. Thank you Sara!

Easy experience from booking through to the artist showing up on site, and I loved how I could upload my inspiration photos prior to the appointment. Kay did my floral dress and fresh makeup, and Ekaterina did my green dress and pink extensions. Both were great and I was so pleased with the final results!

We had the best experience with this team for our wedding! Michael did my hair and makeup, and we also had Ekaterina, Jay, and Orin doing makeup for my bridesmaids. Michael unfortunately couldn’t be there because I had to change dates but he was still able to accommodate me for my new date and paired me up with Karla as my bridal stylist.

Karla was lovely to work with - easygoing, funny, meticulous and adaptable. I experienced this with my trial run and most importantly, on the day of! After my trial, I was honest and upfront about what I liked and what I wanted to be changed for hair and makeup.

Karla and Michael were super accommodating and Michael was very flexible with my requests and answered all of my questions promptly.

He also prepared us so well with instructions on how to care for skin and hair leading up to the wedding - so thorough and professional!

Michael is the best of the best!

Michael took his time to get to know me and he genuinely understood my wedding vision. He made me feel very seen, heard, and supported throughout the whole process. I felt so calm and excited going into the big day knowing he was on my beauty team.

When the big day arrived, Michael and his team provided hair and makeup for the entire bridal party. Everyone looks and felt so gorgeous!! But the moment that stands out the most to me was when he handed me the mirror to take my "first look" at myself - I had never looked so beautiful in my whole life. I took my breath away - how many times in your life can you say that??

My look stayed put all night - Michael had prepared a touch up kit for me - but I didn't even use it. At 2am after dancing and celebrating all night long, I looked perfection!

Legit the best colorist ever! We spent 7 freaking hours on my hair and no body has ever had the patience or the skill to work with my lions mane. I would cross the ends of the earth to get my hair done by Marina again. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I went to this place based on the reviews it had, and it was my first time visiting. I had long, naturally straight thick dark hair that was about 25 inches long. I went into the salon (already paying $100 fee before even any services were done on me ahead of my appointment) and asked to have my ends darkened to my natural hair colour, and I wanted layers in my hair but wanted to keep the length. I emphasized on only 1/2 an inch be taken off the full length of my hair.

Throughout the service, the assistant that had taken over for my session, who was applying the dye and washing my hair, mentioned to me 11 times just how dry my hair was. I told her that I live in a dry climate, and I was recently on medication that caused my hair to be so dry. She thoughtlessly kept repeating out loud for the entire salon to hear how dry my hair was. I was so uncomfortable and unsure what to say to her comments. She even mentioned to me on the way out of the salon while I was paying that my hair was so dry and she was glad I cut it.

After leaving the salon, the hairdresser I saw cut my layers the same way I've seen it done online. In two separate ponytails and then he cut the ends off of the ponytails. I lost so much of my hair from the hair cut and days later I hoped the colour would lighten but they dyed my hair a jet black and it doesn't match my natural colour at all. Not only that - I was charged about $200 upon leaving the salon (due to the amount of dye they used on my LONG hair before they cut it) and so all in all I paid about $300 CAD to have my hair dyed jet black and my long hair cut in chunky layers with majority of my length taken off. I could cry, my hair was so beautiful and naturally thick and it took over 2 years to grow out. I even showed the hairdresser 5-7 different inspiration photos. In shock, I left the salon smiling but couldn't believe it when i got home. I'm so sad, they ruined my hair and I'm out $300.

The owner and all staff were so welcoming as soon as I walked in. Loved the offer of a nice beverage. Catherine did an incredible job on my hair and gave me exactly what I was hoping for. I came out looking just like the Pinterest photos I had showed her for inspiration. She is also just a gem of a human and was so lovely to meet and speak to. I will definitely be back to this salon and make it my main one in Ottawa.

This was my fourth time seeing Jackie at the salon. Every experience has been better than the last (if that’s even possible). She always takes her time, accommodates my requests and helps me figure out what I want! I have also never had such a great haircut in my life!

I often drive by the salon, living in the neighbourhood, and have noticed their walk-ins welcome sign out front. I always say, I should try that out, but life seems to find other plans. So today I had an unexpected day off from work and thought if not now then when!
I popped in just after lunch and received a warm welcome with lots of happy people, both customers and employees! Suzanne had an availability right away and my experience was top notch from beginning to end. I was so pleased with my hair cut and style (and let me tell you...you're not going to find a more relaxing shampoo anywhere!) and when I asked for her input on a cut I was thinking about, she was honest and I really appreciated it. Yes, hair does grow back...but she took the guess work out for me and saved me potentially hiding under a hat for awhile :).
Before I left, I made an appointment for next month, and already booked Suzanne and 3 other stylists for my daughters and my mom before my son's wedding next year!

I got my balayage done by Yazan and honestly, I couldn’t be happier! He really took the time to listen to what I wanted and made sure I felt comfortable every step of the way. I have textured, dark hair and it’s always been tough finding someone who actually knows how to work with it properly—but Yazan absolutely nailed it.

This was my first time ever dyeing my hair and I also have a pretty sensitive scalp, so I was nervous going in. But Yazan was super thoughtful and made sure to use a treatment that wouldn’t damage my hair. The whole experience was way better than I expected.

Looking for a new hairstylist? I highly recommend Maryam. I am in my 40’s and was looking to blend my grey hair with previous blonde balayage/root melt. I had been doing my own roots and they were not pretty. Had different colours going on. Maryam listened to my concerns and gave me the advice I had always wanted from a hairstylist. I fell upon priska salon on a whim looking to get a bob cut, i originally had an appointment with another stylist but there was a bit of an issue with time and my hair texture which made me feel disappointed in the moment but fanny approached me with a “I’ve got time” I had met with Fanny and she has a caring energy and wasn’t intimidated by my hair texture which made me feel safe in her hands and she understood exactly what my expectations were even with a small language barrier (my French isn’t the best) she didn’t sweat it. I left feeling happy even rebooked my next appointment in advance.

The secretary was also super kind easy going and was enthusiastic about helping me when I was having trouble finding the right building.

Overall a beautiful salon space with a great look 10/10 recommend 😊

I booked a makeup lesson with Rebecca prior to my wedding after having to part ways with the MUA I had originally booked. It was too late to get anyone else, so I figured I would take a lesson and just do it myself.

Rebecca was AMAZING. Not only did she work to show me how to use products I already had, she put together a detailed shopping list for the things I was missing, and tailored the appointment to bridal makeup since that is what my end goal was - think products with more staying power and better photo quality. On top of all that, she was so sweet and kind.
