Chantal was a joyful breeze to work with: communication leading up to the shoot was clear and prompt, she was so patient with our older child during the shoot, very encouraging as she directed the poses, so gentle with our newborn, and the way she made our bedroom look like a 5-star studio was magic. All of this showed in the final photos; we didn’t even bother trying to choose which to download we bought the entire gallery with no hesitation.
I love the seamless process from booking to final gallery delivery, and Chantal’s professionalism and personable nature was a delight.

We recently hosted a major event during Stampede, and it was an incredible success. Knowing that PAL Insurance had our back gave us tremendous peace of mind. They ensured we were protected in case anything went sideways. Their advice and support helped our event run smoothly. We couldn't have asked for a better partner. We'll definitely be using their services again in the future!

DO NOT use this company. They are a complete scam. Not only will they send private investigators after you when you’re trying to make a simple claim, but they’ll just deny you so they don’t have to pay out your policy. Their staff is unprofessional and have zero knowledge about their jobs. If you like throwing money away, this is the place to do it. If I could give zero stars I would.

Slow response time, their site promises a 48 hour response to requests, so after waiting for a week I called in. The man on the phone was snarky and unprofessional. He told me they are behind and EVERYONE is calling in saying they need fast service, as if it was my fault I was trying to give him my business.

I have nothing good to say about this insurance company & have not a clue how they have any business. I have been trying to get a policy for an event & have called Multiple times, with no response from anyone. I have left multiple messages & have never had a call returned. I will take my business elsewhere.

Went here for a lehnga and I have never had an experience like this. Pallavi was such a sweet person made me feel comfortable and helped me find something in my price range. The an alterations were supposed to be done by Friday, but they finished it in a day and they altered on the spot when it was uncomfortable for me and made it so that if it me perfectly. As a plus size girl they didn’t make me feel any less in my body so Thank you for that ❤️

⚠️⚠️ AVOID CUSTOM MADE ORDERS FROM THIS BOUTIQUE ⚠️⚠️

1. Timeliness – Everything Was Late

When we first met Pallavi in January, she told us she could custom-make anything and reassured us that outfits only take 2 weeks to make. With a June wedding date, she said we had more than enough time. We eventually placed our orders and were promised delivery by end of May. That didn’t happen. May passed, then the first and second week of June, and then the morning of the wedding. My bridesmaid outfit arrived the second week of June. The bride received her wedding blouses the morning of her wedding, just hours before on June 18. Pallavi blamed DHL delays, but if she hadn’t waited until the last minute, this could’ve been avoided. Because my lehenga arrived so late, nothing could be changed, even though the blouse looked completely different from what I ordered.

2. Quality – Beads Falling Off, Poor Craftsmanship

The bride’s blouses were poorly made—beads were falling off with the slightest movement. Some parts looked glued on or maybe they were sown crooked. It looked nothing like what was requested. Last-minute, the bride and her cousin had to remove the work as much of it had already fallen off, buy beads from Michaels, and pin them on the morning of the wedding.

3. Sizing – Inaccurate and Blamed on Us

My lehenga was far too big. Instead of owning the error, Pallavi told me I must have lost weight—which was false. Even after resizing, it was still loose and had to be fixed at the wedding venue. When the bride received her blouses the morning of her wedding, they were WAY TOO BIG! We had to fix the blouse in place by safety-pinning it. Other reviews mention the same sizing issues, so this isn’t a one-off.

4. Customer Service – Defensive and Unprofessional

Pallavi ignored messages, didn’t return calls, and never told me when my outfit was ready. When I said the blouse didn’t match the photo I sent, she insisted her version was “better,” than what I asked for. I don’t want your version of better, I just want what I asked for. She also blamed me for not choosing the gold color—something she never asked me to do. I’m not the designer; I expected her to follow the photos I provided. If there is a sample of colours I need to choose from, I expect to be asked. Once orders were placed, there was no transparency or communication. No progress photos were sent, nothing was double-checked or confirmed with us. And when we finally received our orders, it was too late to do anything.

❌ Final Thoughts

Everything was late, poorly made, and handled with zero accountability. What should’ve been a joyful process became a stressful nightmare, especially for the bride. Do not order from here unless you want to be disappointed on your big day.

The entrance to this place is right off of 7th Avenue between 1st Street West towards city Hall.

Down in the basement there's another huge space that has live music on the weekends.

Are you looking for delicious smoked beef brisket? How about pork, or turkey? And do you enjoy the meat sweats? Yes? Then the Palomino Smokehouse is a definite must try for you. Palomino is located along the C-Train tracks in downtown Calgary. Having been around for more than 20 years, it’s an institution when it comes to mouthwatering barbecue, lively atmosphere, and vibrant live music scene. The experience is casual / rustic and not much for frills.

As the name eludes, they specialize in slow-smoked meats. The ingredients all seemed to be high quality (according to the semi-pro meat smoking team members I had lunch with) and the portions were enormous. Of the 6 people at our table that ordered the full pound of brisket, only one managed to eat more than half! Not just brisket either, you can get pulled pork, ribs, turkey and a variety of other smoked delicacies including jackfruit … whatever that is. The side dishes are equally as delicious including the bacon wrapped corn on the cob which I would suggest getting a double order of.

The lower level seems to be set up for live music performances and more of a bar atmosphere. Haven’t been here outside lunch so can’t comment on what that would be like but I hear they have some pretty epic Stampede events.

I highly recommend Palomino for lunch and to kick-off the afternoon nap under your desk at work!

I was last here in 2018 and we had such a great experience when I was back this week with a different group I suggested we had to go here. Unfortunately the quality has declined. Two people in my group found their meal was only lukewarm and my brisket was a bit dry. It was still fairly good, but nowhere near the quality from a few years ago. The waitress was very nice and the atmosphere is causal, comfortable and rustic. Photos compare the meal from now (red checks) to 2018.

Went for lunch on a weekday with our toddler.

Brisket: mediocre, but tasted better with sauce (ketchup, smoked mustard, plus three different BBQ sauces).
Garlic fries: fantastic, definitely order these.
Green beans: Good, would order again.
Sweet tea: 10-12 oz, but half the size they are in the States.

No highchairs or booster seats. No diaper change table.

Very friendly staff, great service, open kitchen so you could see them prepping food. Shaded patio out back.

Can’t recommend Pam enough! She made us feel so calm, comfortable and cared for during the whole process leading up to our wedding and during the ceremony itself, which can be stressful. She made our ceremony very customizable to what we wanted and had a great mix of emotion and humour, which our guests loved. We can’t thank you enough Pam, we’re so glad you were the one to marry us.

Pam was amazing, I can't recommend her enough! We also had lots of compliments from our guests in relation to Pam! We planned a very last minute wedding and she was right there on board to help with any ceremony questions I had. I had a lot of ideas that I wanted to incorporate into our ceremony and Pam helped us with working them all into the ceremony where they would fit best while keeping the required part of the ceremony for legality in. Our wedding party and parents were very grateful to have Pam come do a rehearsal the night before as she made everyone a little bit less nervous and much more comfortable with the way things would go during the actual ceremony! It is very clear that Pam gets joy from officiating weddings! Again, I can't recommend Pam enough!!

Alice did an amazing job with our wedding flowers. Really great value and she spent so much time making sure we had everything exactly how we wanted it. She gave detailed instructions on how to make them last from the afternoon into the evening. I would use Alice for all other future events! Thank you for helping us with our special day.

I came into Panda Flowers on very short notice and was seriously impressed. I was in a rush to pick up my wife from the airport and needed something beautiful fast—and they delivered! She was so accommodating, worked within my budget, and even added extra flowers to make the arrangement look full and absolutely stunning. The bouquet looked amazing and my wife loved it. Definitely going to be my go-to spot for flowers from now on. Highly recommend!

​Absolutely Unacceptable and Disrespectful

​I am beyond shocked and disgusted by the behavior I witnessed at Paris Jewellers this past Wednesday. A customer was patiently waiting to be served when the assistant manager, who came out on his high horse, began being incredibly disrespectful. The customer hadn't said a word to him, yet he had the audacity to yell, "If you don't want the product you can shop elsewhere." This behavior was completely unprovoked and uncalled for. The customer was visibly in tears and left the store crying. Nobody deserves to be treated so rudely and condescendingly, especially by an employee in a management position. After seeing this appalling lack of professionalism and basic human decency, I will not be returning to this store. This kind of treatment is unprofessional, inexcusable, and a complete failure of customer service. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I had an amazing experience with Habitat from Paris Jewellers. They kindly fixed my watch free of cost and were so polite, professional, and helpful throughout the process. When you go, ask for help from Candice. Compared to the assistance my fiancée and I received at other stores, Candice was by far the most resourceful and helpful. We were searching for a wedding band to match an engagement ring, and she was great in finding us one that paired well. Definitely felt like she prioritized finding a ring that we were happy with as opposed to just pushing for a sale. Would recommend to a friend!

My husband and I purchased my first wedding band from here and then two new wedding bands for our one year wedding anniversary. A great selection of gorgeous pieces with beautiful stones and metals. Staff are always very helpful and willing to work with you on what you’re looking for. For us, this included tracking down a second of the same ring at another store to have a matching pair. This was done with ease by the sales assistant Alysa at CF Market Mall. Overall, a great experience and a pleasant part of our wedding ring journey.

We loved our bridesmaid dresses! Each girl chose a different style in the dark olive silk and they all looked stunning together. Shipping was fast and easy, and the girls received so many compliments on the day. Couldn’t be happier!

Went to P&F back in December for my wedding dress. I wanted something simple yet elegant for my smaller wedding in the mountains. I found the perfect dress. I had a great shopping experience last weekend looking for a wedding guest dress. Very friendly staff throughout and Hanan (spelling? I’m sorry!) was extremely helpful. I feel like I tried on half the dresses in the place. I was happy that they had quite a number of styles in the shop in my size (XL), and also offered the option to order in if what I was looking for wasn’t available. I would definitely return for an occasion dress in the future!

we had such an amazing experience at Park and Fifth in Calgary! After a long day of wedding dress shopping, this was our final stop for the day! We were pleasantly surprised with the cute area to try on dresses, and having a small private area to try them on. Our bridal stylist, Hannah was so great, she made us all feel comfortable and was easy to talk too. She made our experience so much better!

I went into Park and Fifth looking for a (very) last minute wedding guest dress.

I was nervous because a lot of boutique stores don’t carry larger sizes (I’m an XL-XXL), and worse yet, have made me feel very uncomfortable for being a larger size in the past.

My experience with P&F couldn’t have been more opposite. While there were less larger sizes on the floor, there were still plenty to try on, and more available for order. The staff were all so incredibly kind and SO helpful. They all offered assistance with zippers/ties/suggestions and opinions (when I asked for them). It felt like they were all truly invested in me finding the right dress, but were not pushy about it either.

We had an excellent stay at this hotel for 3 nights, and the experience was truly pleasant from start to finish. Our booking process was seamless, thanks to the reservation team's exceptional helpfulness and attentiveness. Upon arrival, our check-in was quick and efficient, and the staff provided us with comprehensive information about the hotel's amenities.

One of the highlights of our stay was the pet-friendly facilities. Since we were traveling with our dog, we appreciated the designated area nearby our room where he could stretch his legs and take care of his daily needs.

Our room was spacious, well-lit, and equipped with all the essentials, including a fully stocked kitchenette with a large refrigerator, dishwasher, hair dryer, and iron with a stand. However, the breakfast menu was a bit disappointing, as it remained the same for all 3 days, which became repetitive and boring. As a result, we ended up exploring local dining options.

Despite the breakfast issue, everything else was perfect, and we would definitely consider returning to this hotel in the future.

In general, convenient location if you drive (free parking). Likely you can arrive anywhere in 40 minutes cross Calgary. The room is big, but no ensuite laundry. Washing machine and dryer are available on the 1st floor. I wish there’s a kettle for hot tea with regular tea bags such as Earl Grey or black tea, but the hotel does provide orange flavour drink bag. Hotel looks clean and good inside. Air conditioner was working quietly and didn’t wake up me. Service is excellent and and helped to fix an issue right after we called front desk. Yes, agreed on other reviews about breakfast. We stayed 3 nights and complimentary breakfast were exactly the same, boiled eggs, apples, oranges and bananas, vanilla and strawberries yogurt, some cereals, bread and bagels, juice machines and coffee machine for regular and decaf. Overall it is a nice place and I would recommend it.

Rooms have a full kitchen- if you like to cook for yourself while away from home this is a great place for you! Great gym for a hotel and free laundry room available you just need to bring your own soap. Staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating- especially the gal in charge of breakfast she is definitely an all star employee. Front desk was also lovely.

Lots of room for my toddler to run around. We stayed in a king bed suite. Very convenient that the room had a kitchenette. I was able to get a few things to put in the fridge for a picnic with my toddler.

Felt safe to take my toddler for a walk with my dog at night. Quiet area despite the airport not being far.

Was also able to easily extend my stay the day of check in. Reasonable prices and very reasonable to Expedia and booking to book at the hotel.

Would stay again.

The park and staff are just wonderful, great place to live, except, the dogs barking gets under your skin very quick.... Im talking about barking for a straight hour!!! I know and understand that dogs will bark, but for an hour!!???

Use to be a affordable place to rent out for celebrations. This time everything was an extra charge. They even took the oven connection so you had to pay extra for that to. Which we were not told that even tho they knew we having a lunch celebration for a resident that had lived there for over 20 years. Also they double booked on us and we were made to rush so the next group could get in. That was the least of our problems dealing with them . We will never be back. Greedy doesn't look good on anyone.

Visited a friend who moved in. Very well maintained property, friends say the social side of the park is great in fact they had a sold out St Patty's party including live band on very nice 🙂👍👍

I had dealt with a very nice lady Penny and first when I waned to rent, then a lady by the name of Kessa took over when I went to pay the rest of my money for the hall she was very nice. 2 days before the party she got really rude and said that I lyed about what time I wanted to hall till which is on my contract and accused me of writing that myself, I told her I would have liquor in the hall, which I had the licence for and also had licence bar bartenders. She refused to give me my damage deposit, saying that I didn't tell her about the liquor and the kitchen was dirty which I did a very good job. When I called to get the president's #, her hubby answered the call and swore at me when I told him I didn't want to speak with Kessa since she didn't know how to do her job properly. I have left 2 messages for the president and no calls still...this lady is very rude to deal with. I have rented other halls in the past and have never had to deal with someone as rude as her....

I recently had to plan a High School awards ceremony and they helped me pick out exactly what I needed, delivered everything, and supported me with the setup on the day of the event! Great place to buy and rent decorations very helpful with all inquiries

We had an excellent experience while shopping for our grandsons birthday party at Party Central. We had ordered for few props, cake stand and curtains . Also, we purchased some balloons of different colors. We had no idea as to how to decorate our birthday venue at the hotel. The owners of the shop were super friendly and cooperative and they gave us great advice as to how to decorate our venue with balloons and props. Their rates are also very reasonable and we are extremely happy with their exemplary service. I would recommend Party Central to all who are looking for decorations for birthday parties or weddings. I had my hair colored and cut yesterday with Natasha, and I absolutely love my hair! My base was dark brown, but she made the honey blonde perfectly. She was so kind and patient throughout the whole process. Marsha did my keratin treatment, and she was also incredibly kind and attentive. They were both amazing, and I’m so happy with the results. I would definitely go back again!
