Wedding Vendors in Ottawa

A group of us were seeing many ads online about this ship escape room and decided to try it out despite the negative reviews on google.

It was quite fun, challenging and interactive. It’s about a hour and there’s lots of free parking nearby. They are now certified by Transport Canada therefore, the ship did set sail which added more fun to the experience. The crew was very friendly and all in character!

I highly recommend this escape room if you’re looking for something to do with friends and family.

Absolutely do not book with Escape the Ghost Ship. We paid for a private booking for a bachelorette party, 20 people at $59 each, and the day before the event, they suddenly told us they couldn’t provide the service. We had people traveling in from out of town, and this completely ruined our plans. Even worse, they refused to refund us, despite them canceling and the owner cowardly won’t take our phone calls. This is unacceptable and feels like a scam. Save your money and go somewhere reputable that values its customers.

Absolutely disappointed and frustrated with how this business handled our booking. We had a bachelorette group event scheduled and confirmed weeks in advance. Less than 24 hours before our appointment, the owner abruptly cancelled on us.

To make matters worse, they refused to refund our $1,000 deposit and couldn’t even guarantee us a new date for rescheduling. We planned our entire weekend around this experience, and to be treated with such disregard is completely unprofessional and unacceptable.

Customer service is non-existent. We’ve reached out multiple times for a resolution and have gotten nothing but vague responses and zero accountability.DO NOT BOOK

I was really looking forward to this experience which was the main event of a bachelorette party, but the day before they canceled our booking. Their ship failed inspection leaving an 18 party group acrambling on a long weekend. We have had this booked since January. Not only will they not refund us, but they can't guarantee they will offer this service again. Poorly managed and terrible customer service, and they'll keep your money - so maybe find another group activity in Ottawa.

Possible scam. Booked for 6, they canceled out booking last minute as they failed to secure permits, and has been declining to reimburse our money. Based on similar reviews, we believe this may be a scam/fraudulent based on the pattern of similar circumstances.

Update: After months of the company taking my money and ghosting us, my Credit Card company forced a reimbursement. Having a "no refund" clause/agreement does not allow a company to cancel your booking and only offer credit for compensation, consumer protections mandate a full refund for services not rendered.

We had a small 50-person wedding where we wanted the emphasis to be on fantastic food.... and we could not have chosen better than Jason and his team. Service was exceptionally attentive, presentation very attractive and the food amazing.   Even a few weeks after the wedding, people were still raving about the food and how delicious it was.  Some are asking for the recipes and the amazing choice of interesting ingredients that satisfied the taste buds of our friends (including vegans, vegetarians, pescatarians and the plain picky eaters). The Sumac salmon was especially a hit.

Interactions with Jason and Tanya were pleasant, timely and professional. We may just decide to get married all over again, to have Jason cater the next one!

We are the parents of a wedding party that Jason and team catered at our home on the Big Rideau Lake on Aug 21 2020. We were very impressed at how they followed all the Covid rules. The servers have to be commended, travelling so may times, up and down our many stairs to the lake, to serve the most delicious food, all afternoon and into the evening! They were pleasant and professional.

And to top it off, our kitchen was left immaculate. We so recommend Essence and will definitely use them again.

Jason and Tanya were such a wonderful part of our small family wedding (14 people) at our cottage. Jason is a dynamic and talented chef, and prepared a beautiful meal of passed canapes and 3 small plate courses. I don't think I can do the food justice in words - it was absolutely spectacular and everybody raved about it. Jason also did a wonderful job of accommodating food restrictions - one of our guests who is vegan and one who has some very restrictive food allergies. I also really appreciated Jason's suggestion of doing a cocktail-style meal instead of a plated dinner - having small plate courses and the ability to move around the cocktail tables and lawn at the cottage was perfect to allow for lots of mingling among our small number of guests, and we would not have thought to do this had he not suggested it. We would highly recommend Essence Catering!

Jason, Tanya and the team at Essence are truly exceptional. I reached out to them to cater a celebration of life event for my Dad in my parent’s backyard. Not only did they handle the catering with incredibly delicious food, but they arranged everything else that was required — a tent, tables, chairs and even audio/visual equipment. Then, the day before the event, we had the May long weekend storm.

My parent’s neighbourhood was hit hard by the storm and many trees were down. We were without power and the audio-visual equipment, that had already been set-up, was damaged by the storm. Jason and Tanya came by the night before the event (immediately after the storm) and the morning of the event to make sure damaged items were replaced and that everything was in place and ready for the celebration of life. Thankfully, Jason’s power was not affected by the storm and the food was able to be prepared and they utilized a BBQ for on-site reheating. They were even able to get the A/V equipment replaced and working with the help of a generator, curtesy of my Dad, who was always prepared.

Jason and his team really helped turn a sad and stressful time into a celebration. Every detail was taken care of pleasantly, professionally, and effortlessly. The event day staff were fantastic. And despite some rain and drizzle, we were still able to have a perfect event the day after a terrible storm.

I cannot thank Jason, Tanya and their team enough. I truly believe the event would have not come together without them. If I could, I’d give them 6 stars out of 5. They really saved the day. And the food was fantastic (I know I said that already).

just wow. from planning to organizing to perfect execution, essence was there.attention to detail was superb. received so much feedback on the food experience at my wedding - evereyone was floored. they blew my mind as I expected. highly recommend.

Esther’s is an amazing place. Her cupcakes are delicious and beautiful. My favorite hot food is her meatball sandwiches. They are amazing. Our office is upstairs and When we have people visiting us I always buy cupcakes from here. Esther also is one if the warmest, friendliest people I know. She makes the whole building better. Everybody in here knows her and loves her. She also gets a lot of regular clients from outside who come specifically for her good food.

Esther made my sons first birthday cake and cupcakes & they were absolutely amazing. the customer service was great she was super sweet and friendly and extremely easy to work with. she exceeded my expectations for the sweets it was everything i asked for and more. you can tell she puts so much effort and love into the desserts she makes!

From our first conversation, Esther showed so much kindness. She is truly the sweetest person and her baking is such a reflection of that. Our experience with her was seamless and our wedding cake was everything we wanted and more. It was so beautiful and tasted so good even days after our event. I would definitely recommend Esther to anyone looking for a cake or other dessert especially for a wedding. My husband and I are so glad we went with Esther’s Cakes & Sweets for our big day!

Cute little place. Had an appointment in the building. Service is really nice as they ensure I was good and brought food out to me as I waited at the table. Food tasted so good! Hidden gem of a place in a building. I was struggling with my coffee cup lid and she came out to help me just for that too. Very kind and sweet staff.

Esther made our December wedding cake. The cake was beautiful and delicious. Esther was such a great support in helping make our choices regarding flavours and to help us make our vision for the cake come true!

I heard about Eva from a coworker who had hired her for her wedding and engagement photos, they were stunning! I reached out and from the moment we touched base, Eva was absolutely incredible. She was so helpful, sweet, and has so many great ideas! We were planning our wedding to be in Calabogie and so Eva said why not try Eagles Nest for our engagement photos?! It was so beautiful, and we had a great time! She took so many amazing photos, we had a hard time narrowing down which ones to print.

Fast forward to the wedding, my entire family absolutely adored her. She has a great personality and knows exactly how to capture a moment. I cannot recommend Éva enough! Photos attached to show how amazing she really is, not to mention her prices are so good! I will absolutely be hiring her in the future and my family even wants to come back from BC to work with her for their future events. Hire her, you won’t be disappointed. ❤️

Great customer service from Ivy! She was super helpful and able to quickly action 2 beautiful funeral floral arrangements within 48 hours based on budgetary constraints and specific colour requests (we're from Montreal and Miami so really appreciated the payment method accommodation). The final product photos that she texted the day before delivery was also a very nice gesture, thank you!

Two of my daughters found their perfect gown at Ever After Bridal. We had visited other salons and found the owner at Ever After so intuitive. A selection of dresses in the correct size had already been pulled so it wasn't long before they said yes to the dress. Great prices and quality gowns made ours a great experience.

I will never get over how beautiful our wedding turned out! We had a huge storm coming around the time of the ceremony and Janice and staff were so helpful in helping us beat it so we could have the ceremony outside. We had our wedding at Evermore Weddings & Events, and it was truly perfect from start to finish. The venue is absolutely breathtaking, inside and out. The gardens and outdoor spaces are meticulously maintained and were in full bloom on our day, creating the most romantic and natural backdrop for our ceremony and photos. The flowers, the stone pathways, and views all felt like something out of a dream.

Everything in the wedding decor was so carefully curated and a year later and I am still in awe of her work; the sand tone colours , the wood arch , the light beige sofa, the placement of pampas grass and olive branches, everything was just perfect.

I ordered flowers to be delivered to our son and daughter-in-law after the birth of their first baby. After not hearing from them after a few days I contacted them to see whether the “surprise” flowers had arrived. They hadn’t. I emailed the company and had no response. I emailed them again, still no response. So the next day I rang the company (from New Zealand) to see what had happened. The woman who answered the phone told me the delivery person said there was nobody home. There was, and they also had my daughter-in-law’s phone number to ring, but hadn’t. She said they would have a fresh bunch delivered that day. My son and daughter-in-law later received a voicemail message to say the delivery person couldn’t find their address. The flowers were subsequently delivered the next day. If I hadn’t phoned the company, my order was obviously not going to be delivered at all. There was no communication at all, it was completely forgotten about. They found the address on the first delivery but never used the supplied phone number and on the next delivery they strangely couldn’t find the address but managed to use the phone number. We also opted to have a small teddy bear included with the flowers. I understood from their website that the toy depended upon what was available at the time but the bear looks vastly different and the quality is visibly far inferior than the one pictured on their website. It shouldn’t take two unanswered emails and a phone call to jog their memories about an undelivered order. Very disappointing experience and I would never order through them again.

Very impressed with the service I received at this flower shop!! I told the manager about how bad my luck was with flowers but wanted something for my desk... she recommended different plants for my office space. She was considerate of my space, the lighting, and the care I was willing to provide before spending my money... she was fantastic!!
Two weeks ago, my best friend was having a rough week so I ordered a fresh arrangement from this shop. She called me today to tell me they are still just as fresh as the day she received them and is very pleased with them!! I'm shocked... but very impressed with this shop!!

Bit of a shame as I normally would've given a better rating. This used to be where I went for flowers. I now live further out but still decided to come here to get roses for an occasion. Their information online isn't very clear as they have another Google maps location for their pickup service. However, the name doesn't mention that so it looks like just their regular store. It says they open at 9 so I went to get flowers and they were closed (says on the door they open at 10). An employee saw me and I tried to explain to her that online it said they were open and that I'd driven a far way to get there in the hopes she can perhaps sell me flowers 30 minutes early so my trip wouldn't be a complete waste of time. She didn't really listen, just stared at me blankly and just said "we're open at 10," then closed the door..

VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!!! I have ordered flowers for my mother for Mother's Day. PLEASE NOTE: I have placed an order a few days in advance, just to make sure they arrive on Mother's Day. It's Mothers Day and the flowers are not there.... I have waited until 5 pm and their customer service rep Emily has lied that the flowers will be there by 8 pm. MOTHERS DAY IS OVER BY THEN. It's 8 pm and my Mother still did not receive her flowers. I couldn't get in touch with someone at this point. Next morning, their representative has advised us that they had to cancel the deliveries at 10 pm as they thought "IT WAS TOO LATE". Don't you think you should've let us know at least??? MY MOTHERS DAY was ruined because of YOU!!!!! VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!! Next day...flowers are nowhere to be found.....it's disgusting!!!! HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!!!!!

We called to have a presentation bouquet delivered to a friend for their graduation. They sent the wrong style (round bouquet) and delivered the bouquet dry without any water source. Seriously?

The owner of the store when we called with comments said that it was up to the recipient to recut the flowers after 5 hours and put them into a vase. This is after we explained again that the person was using the flowers to pose for photos after a long day and that there was no water source available.

The roses flopped after a while (maybe due to the lack of water?) and the bouquet was generally falling apart. Not impressed. The recipient was not happy with that.

I would recommend using another florist in the area that other hotels use. I heard Mood Moss Flowers in Ottawa is good. There's also Scrims florist in the area.

We had the absolute best experience with DJ Roz (Rashawn) from Extreme Entertainment at our wedding! From the very beginning, Rashawn totally understood the vibe we wanted to create and brought it to life flawlessly. He kept the energy high, read the room perfectly, and had the dance floor packed all night.

Beyond just being an incredible DJ, Rashawn made the whole process smooth and stress-free. His professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine passion for what he does really shined through. So many of our guests commented on how amazing the music was and how much fun they had dancing.

If we could give 6 stars, we would. We recommend Rashawn to anyone looking to create the perfect atmosphere at their wedding. He truly made our celebration unforgettable

I used Extreme Entertainment for my schools prom and we were not disappointed. The whole team was incredible and so friendly, they made the whole experience so easy for us. Our DJ Sean was amazing, all the kids loved him and he made sure the night went as smoothly as possible. We couldn't have done it without them, and we'll definitely keep them in mind for any future events!

Extreme Entertainment DJ Services were just great for our Congolese wedding. I really appreciated working DJ Samer, he is so adaptive to clients' needs, and he makes you feel very very comfortable so you cannot stress.

I ordered some gorgeous fabric from the website for a sewing workshop. It came well within the timeframe stated and was packaged well and just what I wanted! I’m thrilled to have found such a lovely shop and will definitely be back for more fabrics!

I have been a patron of Fabrications for many years and they have always been fantastic! They have some of the most knowledgeable and friendly staff - they're always there to help and they stock wonderful fabric, yarn, patterns, etc. I enjoy visiting sometimes just to browse what's new in stock (although I rarely leave without making a purchase!).

I have also done several classes with them and their instructors are also great communicators and do a fantastic job of helping you learn a new skill. Want to learn to sew? This is the place to do it.

This is my favourite fabric store and an Ottawa staple in my books - they truly put the "fab" into Fabrications!

Every time I visit, I get a genuine sense of community. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger, create, and come back again and again. Ottawa is lucky to have a space like this.

Filsan did my makeup for a wedding I attended and she did a phenomenal job. Nailed the glow up. She’s very attentive, patient, and has a lovely personality. Absolutely loved the final look, and the makeup lasted all day!!

I booked her one week before my wedding she’s so professional and so sweet she was able to accommodate and make time to help me with my wedding glam! The products she used were amazing I had my makeup on from 9:30am to 3am almost 24 hours and it did not budge at all through all the sweating and running around I stayed flawless all with the help of Filsan! Filsan is truly amazing! She applied makeup for a wedding back in October for myself, my mom, aunt, and cousin. She is skilled, friendly, and a pleasure to chat with. I was the maid of honour at my cousin's wedding. Filsan did my makeup along with the bridesmaids. She did an amazing job!! It was my first time getting a glam look and I loved it on camera and in person! All the girls loved it too and, she knows how to make each person comfortable if they wanted a more natural look. Definitely book her!

The location is fine. The hotel, in general, is bright, clean, and very pleasant. Breakfast is the same cold scrambled eggs, bacon, etc.
The room was very nice and the shower was good.
However, the beds were hard, could feel some of the springs, and noisy! Every movement was like someone was under the bed hitting a wooden frame. Very irritating. The pillows were very poor. I have had much better rest in much cheaper hotels.

Our room was spacious and clean with a comfy bed. Front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. Manager Kim, went out of her way to accommodate us. 5 minute drive to the Keg and other restaurants. Breakfast included. Would definitely stay again.

We visited friends in the kanata area and the location was perfect. The king suite was very clean and the king bed was very comfortable. The shower was very clean and lots of water pressure. Shower bottles for soap, conditioner and shampoo were full. The desk staff were very friendly and helpful. We forgot some food leftovers in our room after we checked out and they helped me get back into the room to retrieve the food. The breakfast included was very good. Pork sausages, scrambled eggs, toast, yogurt, coffee tea, and gluten free toast available. There was a sign that said, if you need assistance with any allergies, speak to server. I'd definitely recommend the hotel and stay there again.

Great id you’re going to something at the Canadian tire centre, 20 min walk. Staff were super nice, rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was okay, wish there was more hot food but for an included breakfast it was okay.

Tried calling this hotel to pose a question before check-in. Likely easier to connect with a government than this hotel. Phone system just goes in loops. This is not my past experience with a Marriott property. I can't wait to experience the hotel on-site. However, not a good start!

The beds were comfortable, the location was ideal for my needs, the room itself was large and clean and the bathroom was spacious. Considering it's right beside the airport I heard very few planes - the rooms were very soundproof. The only annoyances were the prices of concession foods ($19 for 3 bottles of water and 3 small bags of chips), and the fact that the airport shuttle only ran every half hour (6am, 630, 7am, etc). Would have been more convenient if it was every 15 minutes. But overall happy and would stay here again

One of the best airport hotels I’ve ever stayed at. We arrived around 8:00 and needed a different room type. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. The rooms we got were spacious, clean and so quiet! The complimentary breakfast in the morning was expansive - from waffles, to fruit, to turkey sausage - there was something for everyone. The shuttle also went off without a hitch! Would recommend to anyone looking for a hotel near YOW.

This past weekend we had our first bad stay unfortunately
We had to cancel the Friday night due to family member illness so notified hotel that we’d be checking in the following day
We arrived and our room was given away so we ended up in a boardroom with one bed and a couch instead of our usual room of 2 beds and couch
Then we’re being charged so much money because of Booking and then the hotel charging separately when we checked in when we showed up
So it’s become a back and forth game that we are loosing and being lied to as well
It’s not fair and really spoils upcoming stays ???
I wish they could just be honest and helpful instead of making 700 bucks on a one night stay

I love this property. I stayed here twice now and both times the stay was great. They have a huge lobby and dinning room. Was able to enjoy takeaway food with the whole gang, 2.5 family, in their spacious dinning room as we were too tired to eat in restaurants after a long day of exploring Ottawa. The breakfast was always fully stocked and all the staff were pleasant and accommodating. Can’t wait to come back to Ottawa.

It’s a reliable airport hotel with spacious, quiet rooms and a free shuttle which runs every half an hour.

We left our bags at the hotel, returned the rental car, and took the shuttle back. The shuttle appeared to be a big passenger van shared between this hotel and the Hilton Garden Inn next door. The evening driver was impatient and unhelpful about our question regarding luggage storage, but the morning driver was polite and assisted with loading. Our hotel was the first stop, and the van’s rear storage easily held many large suitcases.

We had an early departure, so we missed the sit-down breakfast, but the pastries were good.

You lost us when we arrived at 815pm and told valet is full. Have never stayed at a hotel where valet is full. No one helped us with luggage. Took 30 minutes to park and get back to hotel. Room 366 - room is small and bathroom is tiny. No water pressure in shower. Morning breakfast in gold level excellent. Hotel - great location. We get with an old hotel there is only so much you can do with rooms / bathrooms. But the poor service in valet and check in should be an easy win. Housekeeping excellent. Service within Gold excellent.Shouldn’t have to hike across the city the next morning to get valet - and even then had to wait 15 minutes to see if valet was now available.

We were in awe of the facility, but the people made the stay. They were friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The room was nice and my key requirements of a good shower and bed were met. I would have liked having a refrigerator and drawers for clothing; however, we were supplied with two luggage racks and robes. The room was very quiet. All and all, we would definitely stay again. Ottawa is a beautiful place to visit.

First time staying at this location and will likely be the last. Service was good and everyone was friendly. Location is nice but parking is an issue. The value for the cost is 0/5 ⭐️
The room was musty, no mini fridge, no bathroom fan and the ice machine on our floor was out of service for two days.
I’m sure there are many other nicer hotels for half the cost.

I stayed at the Château Laurier while in Ottawa for a Rolex appointment inside their jewlery store in the hotel, and at first I was very impressed. The property is beautiful, and during my stay I spent thousands of dollars, including meals at their restaurant. In 2 days Unfortunately, the way I was treated afterwards completely ruined my opinion.

Because my credit card was being replaced we did a balance transfer to a travel visa, I had a small $80 balance remaining. I explained this clearly, reassured them I would pay as soon as my new card arrived, and even offered alternative methods like debit payment, e-transfer or a certified cheque. Despite this, I received repeated and pressing messages with shifting “expiry dates” to settle the account.

For a guest who traveled for a luxury appointment in their hotel and spent generously during my stay, being treated with suspicion and essentially harassed over such a small balance was extremely disappointing. Instead of being met with trust and understanding, I was made to feel like I was trying to avoid payment, which couldn’t be further from the truth.

It’s sad, because I had looked forward to staying here again for future visits to Ottawa. But after this experience, I won’t be returning. A hotel of this reputation should know how to treat loyal guests with respect, not suspicion.

I stayed at the Fairmont Château Laurier for two nights and really enjoyed my time there. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Ottawa, walking distance to Parliament Hill, museums, and lots of shopping. The hotel itself is full of history, which makes the experience feel unique.

My room was clean but on the smaller side, which reflects the older, historic style of the hotel. Some rooms have amazing views of Parliament Hill, so it is worth asking about that. The overall ambiance feels luxurious and elegant.

The on-site bar and restaurant are lovely, though quite expensive, and the hotel also has a nice indoor saltwater pool. Parking is a challenge as valet service is very limited and was already full when we arrived, so the only option was to use nearby pay-as-you-go lots. There is also no airport shuttle service.

I did not feel that the staff went out of their way to make our stay feel special the way they have at other Fairmont locations, but overall I still enjoyed it. It is definitely on the pricey side depending on the time of year, but if you want history, luxury, and the best location for walking around Ottawa, it is hard to beat.

Experience at this bridal shop was a 13/10!!! Highly recommend this boutique to any bride to be. Katrina was so caring and personable. I'm writing this review to share my disappointing experience at this bridal shop. From the start, the service was a letdown. My stylist, Lauryn, was unwelcoming and didn't seem interested in helping.

A significant issue was the strict policy around trying on dresses. I was charged a fee, which was unexpected and frustrating, especially since the overall experience was so poor. The selection of dresses was also quite small.

During the appointment, I was not allowed to use the larger, more helpful mirror on the other side of the room. This forced me to rely on my friend's phone camera to get any sense of how the dresses looked on me. For such a significant purchase, it was incredibly difficult to make a decision without a proper view.

Overall, the combination of an unfriendly stylist, a limited collection, and a restrictive, inconvenient try-on process made this the worst bridal shop experience I had.

Stunning gowns, beautiful bright private studio and a kind positive stylist- a really wonderful experience! :) Fairy Dreams has a great selection at a variety of price points, and a huge totally private area to try them on complete with couches and multiple mirrors, big windows for your friends and family. Katrina was so wonderful and went above and beyond for any questions I had - thank you!

Honestly a terrible catering company for child care centres. We've had them for almost a year now, and the food has been consistently terrible. Most of our preschoolers and toddlers end up not even having lunch because the food is so awful. (Keep in mind, we do our best to encourage them to eat.) Even my son who is the least picky eater, often refuses the lunches provided. Food is sent burnt far too many times, no flavour, often dry, and often cheap ingredients and hardly a serving of protein for each child. We have sent the company many reviews about the food, and nothing has been done to either improve the quality, or change the lunches being sent.
Not worth the headache.
(I did not sign the contract with Family Table, my employer did, and no amount of emails from them to Family Table have yielded any corrections or improvements)

We ordered the Fajita Bar for a work event of 13 people. Everything was fresh and delicious. The quantity was very generous and great value! Food was delivered on time and online payment was easy. All around top notch and easy experience. Highly recommended.

We just started using Family Table at the daycare I work at and I have to say the food is amazing! The quality is fantastic, with fresh fruits and vegetables, and home cooked meals using quality ingredients. They are happy to accommodate any allergies and dietary restrictions. The children have begun to eat so much more at meal and snack times, consuming way more vegetables than they did previously. It is clear that they take great care in creating tasty and healthy meals. I would absolutely recommend using the Family Table for any and all catering needs.
