Gitane was a fantastic experience! The food was perfectly executed and absolutely delicious, even with a small and simple menu. The service was warm, friendly, and fun, which made the night even better. Big shout out to the team!

This small open-concept restaurant has a clean and welcoming vibe without feeling crowded. Service was fast, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. The food was consistently good, and the steak frites were the standout—tender, perfectly cooked, and well-seasoned with crispy fries on the side. Definitely worth coming back for another meal.

Upscale French restaurant on Elgin Street in downtown Ottawa. We were a party of 4 on a Friday night. Restaurant was fully booked, but it did not feel like it since there was plenty of space between the tables. Our table was by the windows under a beautiful skylight. Our server was Jessica, who was a professional with support from others on the team. Never did we have to ask for our water to be refilled, napkins folded when we left our seat. Table cleaned between courses. Exceptional service. The food was delicious. See photos. The best was actually the dessert the sundae ... made with a very interesting ingredient. Go try for yourself.

Excellent food and service. Our waiter was very knowledge about the menu, and very proud of every dish. He took great care of us. The vibes are beautiful and intimate. I am pregnant and really appreciate seeing an alcohol free cocktail list. The faux negroni was excellent. We ordered the crab spaghetti, beef tartare, Gitanes burger and duck and everything was delicious. Thanks so much Gitanes, we will be back !

I recently had the pleasure of dining solo at Gitanes in Ottawa, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable meals I’ve had in a long time. I grabbed a seat at the bar, where the service was warm, attentive, and never overbearing—exactly what you want when dining alone.

Let’s talk about the food. I ordered the burger, and I don’t say this lightly: it immediately shot to the top of my list. Perfectly cooked, richly layered, and incredibly satisfying—it’s the kind of burger you find yourself thinking about days later. I also had the crab claws served with butter and cocktail sauce—simple, fresh, and executed beautifully.

To round things out, I enjoyed a thoughtful progression of drinks: a well-poured bourbon, a sharp and balanced Paper Plane, a lovely glass of Bordeaux, and a smooth digestive to finish. Each was well chosen and well made, complementing the meal without ever overshadowing it.

Gitanes delivers the kind of experience you hope for in a modern French bistro—refined without being stuffy, intimate without being quiet, and consistently elevated without trying too hard. I’ll absolutely be back.

I ordered a house warming gift for my client on July 3. It’s currently August 5 and despite calling and leaving voicemails multiple times, I’ve had absolutely no response. I emailed them today insisting that they cancel my order and refund me immediately as it doesn’t make any sense to send this gift anymore over a month after my clients took possession of their home. This service has been completely non-existent and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. I will also be sharing this on our company social media pages as a buyer beware as we serve many other companies who need to steer clear of wasting their money here.

Similar to other reviews, we also did not receive our delivery. I paid a high surcharge to guarantee a before 4pm delivery. Our order is still not here and there has been no communication in response to my phone and email messages. Unfortunately, I believe this company is operating fraudulently. I wish I had looked at these other reviews prior to ordering. You cannot nor should you trust this company. I’m hopeful for a refund at least, but doubtful.

Call support? Here's the number they list on their website to call for support (613) 702-1132.... Called 6 times and nobody answered. Go ahead and try, nobody will pick up.

Emailed them directly and messaged them several times in the chat bot.... no response.

Don't know how I could get any worse of service. Company appears to be a 50/50 whether they actually deliver after you pay based on reviews. Order at your own risk.

This is my first time ever giving a company a bad review.

I gave a 1 star because the initial delivery was sent out before 4 p.m. and since I didn't want it before 4 p.m., I didn’t select that option. The driver assured me it would be redelivered that same day, and the company confirmed multiple times they were getting the delivery sent back out that evening and never updated me at all and ghosted me after 7pm after they confirmed it was coming that night. I had a family member that had stayed up late waiting till 10pm for no reason, simple communication and honesty would have solved this. However, even the next day, I still hadn’t heard anything about the order or why it wasn't redelivered. I had to send a family member to pick it up since I live in Toronto. The poor review reflects the lack of communication and the multiple assurances I received that the delivery would be redone that day. Had I not arranged for someone to pick it up, it likely wouldn’t have arrived the next day either since there were already multiple false communications from the day before.

Very happy with the service. Had a small issue and the Givopoly team quickly made it right. I will be using these guys again for my next client in Ottawa. Thanks Givopoly!

So many activities and camps for kids. Both of mine have gone here for many years and done numerous different camps. You an enjoy craft fairs and one of a kind shows in the main hall, which is awesome. Too many different things to list, come see for yourself.

Attractive community centre in a large, old, nicely renovated building. It may have been a church or masonic temple in the past. The event I was at was in the large hall up the central staircase. The space is bright and airy with a high large domed ceiling. Tall windows on 2 sides of the hall let plenty of sunlight in and the interior lighting is excellent.

Had a booth for the Great Glebe Garage sale, event staff were helpful, clean washrooms, needs recycling bins.

I missed the monthly social dance event held in the beautifully domed hall. This dance program provides seniors good exercise opportunity as well as social interaction. Too bad that the social dance event is put on hold because of COVID-19 pandemic. I hope that the pandemic will be over soon and our life can get back to normal. Thumbs-up to Health Ottawa for a great job to control the pandemic!

Just sharing my 5 star review. I was so impressed with full service from A to Z - I was fully satisfied. I was on fence to do it but so happy I did it. Install early December team of Austin and Logan were terrific, they worked hard and diligently - a side crew , they were close and after they were done helped finish job. Close to 1 day install, team of 2 depending on scope. Chris team leader was great too. Destiny on sales side was so nice and responsive. Great team work! The Gemstone light app system is so cool - I love that it can have architectural lighting in off holiday season as our street is dark and highlight our home nicely with accent lighting. It is hidden with clever system under soffit. Price was not cheap, but fair. I was home during install and gave hot coffee while they installed on a cold day. I think they appreciated it. Go with Nutri-Lawn Glo Lighting (Gemstone system), so professional and worth it - you won't be disappointed. Couple of pics attached.

Robert and his team were amazing. From my initial conversations with them, to the installation and clean-up they were polite, courteous, left my place clean after they were done. Couldn't be happier with making this choice to install these amazing Gemstone Lights. The installers James, Andre and Matt were great to deal with and answered all my questions and concerns. Everyone in the neighbourhood is so impressed and we love the daily 'pot light' look. The app is super easy to use and there are so many easy options to either use a preset effect, or customize the look you want!!!! These pics show a '1 on and 4' off effect on 'warm' (lighter) setting. We have them set on a timer that adjusts to your area. Can do so many things with these lights!!! Thanks again!!!!!

We were wanting you to upgrade to quality lights that we needn’t bring every season up and down. We started talking to Jenn and Robert to have it installed in our new home. They were very professional had the team come over install it a day. The lights are just wow with such a super friendly application and they keep adding new themes at all times. I had a great experience building a ring from scratch with what I wanted. I was given helpful tips at the appropriate time and never felt pressured to do anything I didn't like. Discussing my ring, getting it modelled, manufactured, and received, took less than 1.5 months. Alterations were also possible after the manufacturing, if needed. Overall, a great experience and would definitely come back for wedding bands!

Scott and I got married in September 2023 and I have been unable to fully put into words how much I appreciate Britt since! It’s been 1 year now (woah!) and still, no words seem big enough!

Adding to my original review and subsequent visit. I just visited Gold Lobby after visiting another gold seller/buyer. I did this because I was representing multiple parties to an estate. My interaction with Nick just solidified my trust with. Not only did the competitor not recognize a piece of dental gold to be of value, the amount paid on my lot was well above what the competitor offered. When you are dealing with sentimental pieces that you are looking at selling, it is comforting to know that Nick will give you the best price, best on a knowledgeable assessment.

I recommend checking into Goldart in the Glebe for beautiful, well-designed jewelry. I had a great experience with Mark, Helen and Johanna a couple of months ago, and made a purchase that I am very happy with. All the pieces on display are imagined and created in house. Every piece reflects the workmanship, experience and care that are the signature of this knowledgeable jeweller.

After discovering a broken claw on my wedding ring, I turned to the internet to find a reputable and local business to handle the repair.
Goldform came highly recommended, and with reason! Within a week, I got to pick up my ring, shiny and absolutely flawless ✨️ The repair cost was very fair, and the work was done beautifully.

I can not say enough good things about this establishment. From start to finish my experience with Goldform was fantastic. I was looking to have an engagement ring custom made, I went in with a few ideas of what my fiancee would like and a vague idea of what I wanted to do to make it stand out hoping that would be enough for them to work with and they did not disappoint. I worked with Ben and he was great. Ben kept me well informed every step of the way making sure to educate me on my options when necessary. At no point during the process did I feel as though I was being pressured into anything I hadn't asked for. Our experience with Goldform was amazing from beginning to end.
We live in Nunavut but we’re getting married in Ottawa. We were trying to shop online to find a wedding band that worked with my ring and couldn’t find a good option. I asked in an Ottawa wedding page for suggestions for a jeweler that could help bring out vision to life. Of the 16 comments 12 were for gold form. I messaged ALL suggestions and the only received 2 replies. One was from another jeweler that I found very “automatic reply” and one was from Shane at gold form. Shane asked for a picture of my ring and suggestions and explained a timeline he could respond with suggestions. He emailed me a few days later with a sketch that he labeled “terrible” and apologized for the quality- well I was blown away, I’d have framed it cause it was beautiful and MORE than I had in mind. After sending my ring via Canada post (stressful! Lol) Shane immediately updated me when received and kept in contact with me through each step offering updates etc. when I saw the finished product I was in tears. My soon to be husband and I couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. After that we also asked Shane to make my husbands ring and it was just as gorgeous! I came to town a month before the wedding and he allowed me to stop by on a day they were closed to get my engagement ring and a sneak peak at my set together. When we went to pick up our rings the week before the wedding we interacted with Shane’s son whom I apologize if I remember incorrectly as Ben? Well, he was just as lovely. We paid, he talked about the options they had for cleaning, soldering if we chose and also offered to clean and inspect them anytime we were in town. Although I should have know to go with them from the get go with so many great reviews I was so happy in the end I did! Goldform will be someplace we continue to go back to for all our needs from now on I am so happy and proud to wear their work everyday and get SO many compliments on our rings!!

I hired Good Grazes to cater a recent celebration—a reception with 40 guests—and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. The food was delicious, and Angie was friendly, professional, and very accommodating of my guests’ dietary restrictions, including allergies. She responded clearly and promptly to all of my questions.

This was my first time hosting a catered event, so I wasn’t sure what to expect in terms of pricing (so I can’t say whether the cost was on par with other caterers) or how much food to order. I trusted Angie’s expertise, and her estimate for the quantity of food needed was spot on.

All of the food I ordered was vegetarian, so I placed a custom order via email rather than through the website. Everything was fresh, high-quality, and locally sourced as much as possible.

The platters were beautifully presented and full of inviting finger foods—exactly what I had asked for, with no cutlery needed. My guests had plenty to eat and gave lots of compliments on the spread. No one went home hungry!

The event was close by, so I opted to pick the food up myself rather than have it delivered. Everything was ready ahead of schedule. One small note: their automated notification said, “your order has been delivered,” which I interpreted (correctly) as “ready for pickup.” That wording could be a bit confusing for others, though.

Overall, I wouldn’t hesitate to hire Good Grazes again. Great people. Great food.

Ordered online was ready early. Pick up was easy. Requested the tea sandwich platter was perfect for a family lunch in an place with a small kitchen. The bread was fresh and soft the fillings were generous and good.

I do not even know where to start. Chantelle and Angie were amazing, creative and so kind. They went above and beyond to help me bring some good to my day. There were special touches that were greatly appreciated and I cannot recommend this company enough.
Now onto the food! The presentation was lovely and everything was fresh and absolutely delicious. I will be ordering from them again, I think they may have even brought me some good luck with their beautiful vibes! Thank you! You’re doing an amazing job, Ottawa needs a business like yours.

Good Grazes is a local gem that will satisfy all of your foodie needs! We had Good Grazes brunch box for an intimate post elopement picnic and it was delectable. Good Grazes lent us their picnic basket and a couple of boards and set up the food for it to be picture perfect for the big picnic reveal. It was almost too pretty to eat! Thank you Good Grazes for going above and beyond on our elopement day and for serving up such amazing food!

This was a great gift idea!! I got this for my husband's birthday since he loves charcuterie. Wow, it was so good! We watched a movie and just snacked on it throughout. By the end of the movie, it was gone. I didn't think we were gonna be able to finish it but it was super tasty! I'm a big fan of the pickled eggs.

Delivery was punctual and well wrapped! Love that they use a more local delivery option.

I'm excited to order from them again and try some of their other boxes out!

We used Goodies catering for a fundraiser. From the moment we contacted Elizabeth the owner, she was responsive and very professional. The appetizers we ordered were delicious and the service provided during the event was exceptional. All in all , l a great experience.

Have used Goodies for over 20 years for both University events and catering events at home. They recenly catered our Christmas dinner. The food and service have always been exceptional .

Goodies Fine Catering recently catered for our wedding. Upon request they put together a unique German style buffet menu that was just what we were looking for! The staff was friendly, professional, great to work with, and very accommodating. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Everything surpassed our expectations and we had nothing but great feedback from our guests. We would highly recommend!

Goodies was wonderful to work with. We asked them to help us throw an Italian Dinner for our social club in a short amount of time at Christmas. They delivered fresh, incredibly tasty food and delivered it with precision. Patrick and his team are friendly professional people that are very happy to help in any way they can. They make a double chocolate cake that is to die for, make sure you order an extra one to take home!

We had an amazing experience with Goodvibe for our wedding! From start to finish, everything was easy and straightforward. Ryan was great to work with—professional, responsive, and made the whole process seamless.

A special shoutout to our DJ, Jason, who nailed the vibe of our night! He kept the dance floor going and made sure the music fit perfectly with every moment. The app that was used to enter our preferred songs was amazing - it made selecting songs and planning everything so simple.

We just had Ryan DJ our wedding at Sidedoor and to say we loved him is an understatement. He made the wedding! After our sunset photos we were pleasantly surprised the dance floor was still packed. It was going all night! He did such an amazing job at reading the group and playing hits that got them moving. Would 100% recommend for every event that you’d need a DJ for!

We were lucky to have Phil as our DJ for our July 2024 wedding and we cannot say enough good things about him! Their app was incredibly easy to use and ensured we would hear all the songs we wanted and more. We paid for additional lighting which was absolutely worth it, Phil made the entire dance floor look incredible. Music is incredibly important to us, and they did such a good job. We would 10000% go with this company again.

We just had Ryan dj our wedding this past weekend and he was amazing! He had the whole wedding dancing all night long and knew exactly what music to play at the perfect times. We worked with Gourmet Cuisine for our wedding in the Fall of 2017, and it was an incredible experience. People raved about the food, and the service and personal touches they made for us along the way made the whole experience really special. If you want the best food and service, I would 100% recommend them!

As a local Wedding Planner I have recommended Gourmet Cuisine to my "foodie" clients due to their innovative dishes, experienced staff, high level of detail to food presentation as well as even the esthetic of the bar set-up! One of our weddings together even won Wedding of the Year. Definitely worth contacting them for your event catering needs.

Nice but overpriced sandwich and soup, and you get to sit in a corridor. You may be better off eating outside in a restaurant.

A truly wonderful stay! The room was clean and tidy, and the beautiful backyard, full of greenery, with ripe apples and a charming vegetable garden, offered a peaceful place to relax. Ms. Li’s radiant smile and her son, the young host, provided us with excellent service. All in all, everything was just perfect.

Friendly host with patient and kind guidance, meanwhile has great taste in massage, yoga, painting and calligraphy, very nice to chat with her :)

The Asian woman has a very gentle and beautiful smile, I looked out the window in the morning, she was doing yoga, and there was a kind and calm dog nearby, lying on the grass. Breakfast is cozy. I recommend...this place is very good.

A hidden gem tucked away in an industrial area. Owners were very kind and welcoming. The small eating area was clean and tidy. PATTY Sandwich was great and quite spicy. Had a real authenticity to it. Will be coming back.

I used Grenfell for a 65th backyard birthday party of about 50 people and they were fantastic!!! Mark (chef), Steve (bartender), Savannah & Max (servers) were all great and very enjoyable to work with. And the food that I ordered, with the great help from Christine, was delectable and all my guests were in agreement that it was all delicious. I would use them as well as recommend them for another gathering without question.

Hired them for a Celebration of Life and couldn’t be more pleased. The staff was wonderful, the food was excellent. They went above and beyond to help create a perfect evening. Highly recommend them. They were accommodating, friendly and incredibly considerate of our guests and needs. Truly excellent

Absolutely phenomenal team at Grey Loft Studio.

Photographer Bethany was super easy to work with. She was professional, organized, detailed-oriented and super encouraging the entire time. Her photos are also pristinely edited with a light and bright tone.

Videographer Luc was also fantastic. He was super fun to work with as well as professional. His videos are not only artistic but also do a wonderful job capturing the emotions and energy of the wedding day.

My husband and I have never been professionally photographed or videoed in our lives, and we are far from models! However, both Bethany and Luc always made us feel calm, confident and most importantly, beautiful. We would definitely reach out to them again should we look for professional photos and video in the future.

I first met Bethany and Luc at The Wedding Show and I instantly fell in love with their work and their vibes. They were the first vendor we booked after our venue because I knew I needed to have them.

Working with Bethany on our engagement shoot and then both of them for our wedding day was one of the easiest things about planning our wedding. My husband hates getting his photo taken and they made the entire process as painless as possible for him.

Communication was excellent and I always felt like I could reach out with any concerns or questions.

The day of our wedding, they’re so much more than just photographers. You can tell how much they love their jobs and it shows. We got married in 2023 and I still get compliments from guests on how great they were and how beautiful the photos turned out.

I went into Griffins To look at wedding rings and was very lucky to come across Whitney, who couldn’t be more knowledgeable, honest and wasn’t pushy in any way.
I told her what I was looking for she showed me a ring that had been $7999 which happen to be on sale for 70% off. The ring is spectacular very beautiful which I purchased for only $2400. She explained everything to me how everything works with six months cleaning and everything was seamless. My wife was thrilled at how beautiful the ring was.

So for a quick update, my wife and I did go back to Griffin jewellery to see Whitney and we picked out a fantastic wedding ring for myself.
At the same time, my wife wanted to get her engagement ring cleaned up, and Whitney took care of everything seamlessly and exactly for how much she quoted us and in the time she told us it would be ready.
Can’t say enough about these guys they make us feel like family and they do everything they say they’re gonna do in a timely fashion. Thank you so much Whitney for making everything so easy for us we really appreciated it. Anyone who expects beautiful jewellery and honesty. My boyfriend is looking to get me a ring and my friend came with me and we wanted to get our rings sized. We first stopped at People’s but they refused to size our fingers. Rabia here at Griffin was friendly and was extremely helpful in finding our ring sizes without dismissing us. We really appreciate that. Thank you so much Rabia! ❤️

Walked in one afternoon with severely tarnished jewelry and the kind sales associate helped me for no charge. The ultrasonic cleaner can only take precious metals, and she helped me identify which of my jewelry could be cleaned in the machine and was very patient as I detangled six necklaces from each other. Thanks!

The sign says 70% off, “No Exceptions”
This is just false advertising and a lie in my opinion (and probably by others).
I walk in to the Griffin Jewelry store to look at silver rings.. They didn’t have any but some of the tungsten rings they had caught my eye.. I try them on, end up liking one and get told by the manager that those are not infact 70% as the store advertised. Granted they still have somewhat of a sale going on but I don’t see how this can’t be false advertising.

The second star is for the lady that was helping me very well. Great customer service from the older employee that was really trying her best it seamed.

Excellent! Came to our highrise with truck. Paid by building owners. Two very nice young men served us with great bbq food and kindness!

They catered our employee appreciation day lunch at the beerstore and a good amount of my coworkers including myself felt ill in the hours after. Considering we all tried different food thats not a good sign. The food was also giving to us Luke warm at best. Would not recommend.

Went here for lunch while on course for work,( 3 days in a row ) everything about this place is great , food was delicious, staff is awesome, prices are very affordable, and they even have a roulette game to see if you win your meal for half price. If your in the area , put this at the top of your list for places to try

I had the worst chicken burger in my life. It's simply tasted like card board. I am not in anyway exaggerating it. The quality of hotdog and burger are at the worst it could be. They are buying some dirt cheap stuffs and there's no meat content in the burgers. If you are planning to cater them for your event STAY AWAY form this guys.
