The star of this boutique is Mandeep. I had the loveliest time buying from her. She offers a very extensive selection of garments and jewelry (legends choli, Sharara, saris, men’s attire, etc.,), with a clean and curated space. She offers a spacious fitting room with great lighting and a large mirror. She has a great eye and helped me style my hand-stitched set with a necklace. She also made both me and my partner feel incredibly welcome. I would absolutely love to return to Mandeep in the future!

A wonderful little boutique for Indian clothing with a wide range of options for different occasions. This is a home-based business, so call ahead, but they are very flexible and were able to see us immediately 3 times within a month-long period. My family and I were looking for some formal clothing for a Bengali wedding and were able to find everything here! Between the three of us, we purchased 4 gowns and a saree. We received multiple compliments on these and I was very satisfied with the overall quality of the pieces. They are so accommodating and go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. I would highly recommend them if you are in the Ottawa area.

I went there yesterday, it was amazing! Their dresses are high quality, the guy was amazing and gave many choices, of wich one to pick and trying it on as well, to have the full experience. I'm definitely gonna be their regular costumer, because I'm saving up money to buy more things in his shop.😊 I definitely recommend this place, you guys will not regret it, and the prices are cheaper than any other stores.

Baccanalle provided food for a 13 person, 2-day event (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks). Their catering allowed us to enjoy our time and relax without having to worry about food. It was fantastic and everyone loved it. The portions were generous and we had such a good variety of food such as jerk chicken, burgers, crepes, pancakes, stir fry, quesadillas, etc. and most food options came with lots of sauce. The reheating process was easy and the food looked and tasted as if it was cooked fresh at our location despite traveling almost 4 hours away, from Ottawa, to a cottage. Baccanalle was very easy and enjoyable to work with. They were extremely accommodating and helpful when it came to them providing their services to suit the event appropriately. I will not hesitate recommending Baccanalle for your next event, they truly made ours very special.

Delicious! Chef Resa and her team can really cook! Tasty, with Caribbean flavours . The catering is done to perfection. My recent orders are for Christmas and the jerk turkey is juicy and amazing. Good portions and sauces to accompany. The Catering is excellent. Well organized with pickup times and well packaged. I will be a customer for a very long time!

Baccanalle provided team meals during the training camp of our local professional basketball team. We had a variety of meals to choose from, and the portions were very generous. Everyone loved it. Resa's attention to detail when preparing each meal was outstanding. I highly recommend ordering from Baccanalle.

We had a company event and we all had a great time. This was my first time doing this. The coaches were very involved with giving us instructions, and all around interacting with us to make sure our experience was enjoyable. I would strongly recommend Bad Axe for any event.

I had lunch at the restaurant two weeks ago.
The food was delicious. I had the English Style roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, creamy mashed potatoes and vegetables. It was cooked to perfection. Even got to thank the chef as he entered the dining area.
Service was great. Owner was nice and I let him know I enjoyed my experience. Love the interior decor. Can’t wait to come back.

We stayed at the hotel and it was an absolutely charming spot, with responsive and friendly staff.

The ballroom is such a hidden gem, we had our wedding there and it was stunning. The food and drinks were amazing and Lorrie really goes above and beyond to make sure you get what you want.

Had lunch at the restaurant, sat in the patio and it was so pleasant! Such a cute spot! Service was fast and friendly. Food was ok, but pricey. I had a trio of (broccoli cream) soup+chicken salad+fries and it was good, but honestly, no biggie. My friend had the ceviche and said it was very yummy (looked amazing).

This was our first time here and we had booked it on whim. It was exactly what we were looking for. The staff is great, the room comfortable and the garden courtyard was a perfect place to end the day with a glass of wine and food. Easy recommendation

I recently had the opportunity to engage with the Bangladesh High Commission and Consulate in Canada, and I must say that my experience was nothing short of excellent. From the moment I reached out for assistance, I was impressed by the promptness, politeness, and genuine helpfulness of the entire team.

What truly stood out was the level of professionalism and sincerity demonstrated by the staff — including the high-ranking officials. They were not only efficient in processing documents and providing services but also displayed a cooperative and respectful attitude throughout. It was clear that their goal was to support the Bangladeshi community and visitors with dedication and care.

Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the service I received and commend the Bangladesh High Commission and Consulate in Canada for setting such a high standard. Their commitment to excellence, along with their sincere and cooperative nature, is truly commendable. I highly recommend their services to anyone in need of consular support.

I wish I could give zero stars. I booked an NID appointment months in advance for August 12, 2025, took unpaid leave, spent over $250 on travel from Montreal to Ottawa, and left home at 5 AM — only to be told the server had been down for two days and they couldn’t process my application. This outage was known in advance, yet no one bothered to call, email, or text me, even though my contact details were provided. The staff were dismissive, avoided accountability, and showed no regard for the fact that citizens were making long journeys, losing wages, and wasting entire days. For years, Bangladeshi citizens abroad have been frustrated by the inefficiency, lack of communication, and poor planning in such services — the reputation for anything related to Bangladesh government services is already extremely low, and this experience reinforces that urgent improvements must be made.

The High Commission’s website claims you can “contact the High Commissioner” by filling out a message form — but after carefully writing my complaint, the page fails to load when you hit send. Conveniently, this makes the service unavailable. I’ve since emailed both the address on their website and the one listed on the Government of Canada’s “Heads of Missions” page, but I’m still waiting for a response.

As someone born and raised in Bangladesh, it is humiliating that I have been a proud voter in Canada for 8 years while my own country continues to deny me my NID and my right to vote. The High Commission needs urgent reform to provide even basic professionalism, accountability, and respect for its citizens.

Took their service on 18 June 23 at their visit to Saskatoon for renewing my BD MRP passport. They were so cordial & swift in providing service. My task was done in a minute! Really overwhelming!

Scam！Robbery！ Be careful of this place. The dancer told you the private price was 20. But When it finished, she asked for 80 because it had been 4 songs . She didn't explain this before. She said she asked me (but in fact she didn't) in the middle (after 2 songs) of the dance if I would continue and I answered yes. It is absolutely scam and cheating. Don't go to this place again.

Worst strip club I've ever been to which is a shame since it's in the heart of downtown. Dancers crowded bar so it's impossible to get a drink, and then when we sit and try to wait for the server she actually took our order and then sat down at another table and just didn't bring it. I've never had worse service at any establishment, strip club or not. The few performances we did stay for were also terrible. The dancers did not approach us either, likely due to being females. I would not go back, and do not recommend going. Going across the river to Gatineau to Pigale is worth the journey.

I went for my good friends bachelor party and my DD was denied entry for “being too intoxicated” after we had paid cover charge. Before I could even vouche for him they had escorted him out. They said the other members of the party were fine to enter. We refunded our cover charge and left to the NUDEN. We were easily going to spend 500$ lol profiling backfired on their part I guess .

This establishment has serious issues with theft, involving both staff and entertainers, and management appears to be aware but unresponsive. The DJ took my friend’s phone off the table while he was away, but thanks to tracking, we recovered it. When we reported the incident, the manager assured us he would handle it, yet the same DJ remains employed there months later, suggesting this behavior has been ongoing. The dancers also engage in dishonest practices—taking money directly from customers, pressuring them to pay more than expected, and even involving security when challenged. If you want to avoid being robbed, steer clear of this place.

Denied entry after having no drinks with Korean popcorn chicken at the Brig. Was denied by seemingly newish security guard for being too “intoxicated”. I had had one drink all day as I am viewed as more of a chaperone by the other members of our party. I find it hard to believe a drink with dinner made me “too intoxicated.” I am in Ottawa for a bachelor party for my cousin. The entire bachelor party (other than myself) got in but soon demanded refunds on their cover charges. Way to destroy 4 evenings with one prejudice judgement, Congrats on losing 500 bucks or more in possible spending. Perhaps the recent security hire should familiarize himself with what intoxication looks like as he seems to be struggling with this aspect of the job. If you want to have a fun bachelor weekend in Ottawa be prepared to seek out alternatives. I’m sure the Nuden is better anyways

This is one of my favorite hostels! It is right in downtown Ottawa, women only and very affordable. I stayed twice on different occasions and found the owner to be super friendly and welcoming. The place itself feels more like a holiday home. They always try to give everyone their own room, which is nice (some of the rooms may be a little small when fully booked, but so far, I have never had to share on my winter vacation). The beds are very comfy, everything is very clean and the bathrooms and living room area are the nicest I have seen in a hostel so far. Some smaller things: It would be great if there was a little stove for cooking for people who don't like microwaved food (there are some take-aways nearby though). Also, the shower handle in the bathroom upstairs was a bit loose, so adjusting the water temperature took some time. Otherwise, the hostel is very well-maintained and it feels like they do their best to keep up a high standard. Other travelers were quiet and friendly, too. Absolutely recommend this place!

A clean and quiet place to sleep, located near to all attractions. Supermarket is 2 mins walk away. Overall it feels like staying at a friend’s place, cosy and homey.

Provide fresh towel everyday. Toilets are cleaned everyday. Most comfortable blanket in my trip so far. Great ventilation. Basic toiletries provided. I especially appreciate that they don’t try to put everyone in a room while it’s not fully occupied. That gives us so much of space to have our much needed rest.

However, note that it only has oven, means it is not possible to cook.
Barefoot means you have to take off the shoes. Rooms are all upstairs. Mirrors are plenty but would be better to have a full sized mirror.

Lovely, clean hostel in a gorgeous old building. Check-in is at the Swiss Hotel next door. Kitchenette has a full size fridge, microwave, kettle and coffee maker. All bedrooms and a bathroom are upstairs, main floor has kitchinette, living area, and another washroom, with separate toilet and shower. I had to wait a couple minutes this morning to get into the washroom, but nothing too bad. There are a lot of community support organizations near the hostel, so I would recommend sticking to main roads like Cumberland and Rideau if you are anxious about arriving late. All the other guests were very friendly and courteous. Great value for the price. Thanks!

One of the best hostels I've stayed in. It is small, cosy (the max. Number of people is 16) and a great home feel. The hostel is cleaned everyday with towels and linen replaced very often - it feels more like a giant BnB then a hostel. The lady who owns it is very nice and helpful :) even the free instant coffee tastes good! I highly recommend it :)

I stayed here for 1 night and was very pleased with my stay. It was incredibly clean and cozy, plus you have a full kitchen downstairs and all the bedrooms are upstairs. The lady was very welcoming and sweet. I recommend booking from their own website.

First time going and won't be my last! We signed up for the VIP experience and Jason was an amazing coach. Loved that he would coach us along the way and give us tips and tricks to improve our throws. All the staff was super friendly. The bathrooms were clean and well kept. My only critique is that the long table behind the lines was quite sticky. So that would be the only thing that would need to be addressed.

Lucas was an amazing coach! We had the best time at BATL Ottawa and will definitely be back! He really helped us figure out the games and master our craft! Would definitely recommend! 🪓🏹🎯

We hired batterup bakery to do our son’s first birthday party. Cake and dessert table. It was a circus themed party, and boy did she deliver! The cake was stunning! And delicious! All the desserts came out so nice, everyone was raving about it at the party. Jamie-Lynn was so easy to communicate with and pricing was reasonable. I emailed over a few inspiration photos and she did her magic. I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. Thank you for making my little guy’s birthday special!

We bought our wedding cake from Batter Up Bakery. A two-tiered cake of lemon and chocolate with simple white buttercream frosting. It was exactly what we wanted: elegant, beautiful, and delicious! Jamie-Lynn was great to work with throughout and hand-delivered it to our wedding venue the day of. We, and our guests, loved it!

I wanted decorated sugar cookies for my daughter's birthday and Batter Up Bakery didn't disappoint. I submitted a request online and got a prompt response. I shared my theme and ideas for the cookies - I didn't give a ton of direction since, as a baker myself, I know sometimes you have to give some artistic freedom - and Jamie-Lynn said it wouldn't be a problem. I confirmed pick-up time close to the date to make sure all was in order - no issues. Pick-up took no time at all and I had the pleasure of being surprised by the design. All the guests that tried the cookies said they were amazing and loved them. I would definitely go back for out next event.

Although I had to follow up with a confirmed pick up time, everything else was phenomenal. When I picked up the cake I ordered ( very last minute) they were practically emptied out moving into a new location ( whoch is why i gave them a 4/5 rating. Im sure the new place will be amazing!). Congratulations in the next chapter of Batter Up Bakery!! Even through all the motions they've been going through I was still able to place a last minute order and it was exactly what I wanted! A stunning cake for my mother's 70th birthday not only beautiful but also very delicious. It was a major hit with all the adults and children! I got a salted caramel chocolate- salted caramel filling(which was a real caramel filling, and a chocolate flavored cake. Outstanding! I highly recommend Batter Up Bakery!

Lovely flowershop located in the Ground floor of Bayshore Mall. Variety of flowers are sold here are reasonable prices. The staff were very polite and helpful, providing useful information that helped with deciding on the best choice of flower to go with. In addition, there are other plant types, vases and colourful plant containers sold here. The flowers are fresh, in good shape and lasted long. They're available both online and in-store pick up

From the moment we began planning, the coordination with the Bean Town team was seamless. Caroline was absolutely amazing—patient, attentive, and always ready to answer our questions. Geneviève was so kind and understanding, bringing a calming presence on the wedding day. Meagan was also wonderful to work with, helping with planning and coordinating all the last-minute details. Before leaving, she even stopped by to check in with us personally to see if we needed anything before she left.

The bartenders were friendly, quick, and professional, and the chef even came to greet us during the cocktail hour, shared that he had been married at Bean Town himself, congratulated us, and brought us a drink—it was so sweet. Every member of the staff was incredibly attentive, making us feel cared for in every moment.

The entire team exceeded our expectations. Every detail was flawlessly executed, even the smallest details were anticipated. Because of them, we experienced a completely stress-free wedding day and were able to remain fully present in every moment.

The venue itself is breathtaking, but it was the people & staff who truly made the experience extraordinary.

Many of our family and friends told us it was the best wedding they had ever attended (even compared to their own!). Several even joked that they’d get married all over again just to do it at Bean Town.

The space was absolutely stunning: beautifully maintained, elegant, and full of charm. Every corner was photo-worthy, and the atmosphere felt both romantic and inviting.

The team went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, from the ceremony to the last dance. They were organized, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making our wedding unforgettable. Our guests were blown away by the setting and are still raving about how gorgeous everything was!

My biggest stress throughout the day was the temperature. Unfortunately, on our wedding day, it was a rainy day, but with the positivity of the staff and the different options for ceremony, it did not feel like a rainy day! Rain or shine, Bean Town will make your guests and the newly weds feel comfortable!

As for Alisa, one of the wedding coordinators, she was by our side throughout the entire day! She helped with holding my drinks, holding my dress and staying on schedule with photos! It was amazing having her by our side.

Caro, also one of the wedding coordinators, was there to answer all my questions- and I had a lot of them! Truthfully thankful for those fast responses!

Genevieve, the owner, was our wedding officiant. I highly recommend having her as your officiant! It was honestly a one of a kind ceremony! She is full of passion, energy and the ceremony was quite unique!

Words can honestly not express how incredible this entire team and venue is. My husband and I were married here two weeks ago and we are still glowing from the amazing day we had.

Every single guest has told us they LOVED the day - that the venue was beautiful (which it is), the food was excellent, and that it was one of the best weddings they had been to.

We had our wedding on a Friday and so were lucky to be able to rent the Casa Mila and Casa Lucas houses for an extra night on the Thursday evening (note that this is only possible for Friday weddings) and I would 10/10 recommend this. I was able to have my hair and makeup vendors come out to the venue and get ready with my bridal party on site which made the morning SO much more relaxing. The Casa's are beautiful and we managed to have 16 guests (family and bridal party) stay there with us on the Thursday and Friday nights which made the experience feel even more special. Everyone was so impressed by the amenities and how spacious the houses were.

On our wedding day the entire team was flawless. The on-site day of co-ordinators set up the entire venue perfectly and had honestly thought of everything. Their organization and efficiency was so impressive and it really made the day so much more enjoyable and stress-free for all of us.

We used Genevieve as our officiant and she was amazing. Warm and kind and so professional. We loved the way she stood in the aisle so that our photographer could get photos of us on our own. Many of our guests commented that they enjoyed her delivery of the ceremony and we were so pleased.

Honestly, I could go on and on about how amazing the day was and all the things this team did for us. But really the crux of it is that we would wholeheartedly and unreservedly recommend them as a wedding venue. Go for a tour and you'll see why for yourself!

We had such an incredible day at BeanTown and the entire staff were absolutely phenomenal. Absolutely every guest had an amazing time with spectacular reviews from the beauty of the location itself, the kindness of the staff, and the quality of the food. There were multiple surprises and little touches day of provided by the venue that we were not aware of making the day that much more special and fun! Getting ready at Casa Lucas was also so convenient, with a pathway out back leading right to the venue. Side note - comfiest sheets we have ever slept on. If we had to do it all again we would book this venue in a heartbeat, especially given how dog friendly the venue is and the fact the owners are allies in our love for Nickelback ;) Thank you to Guy, Genevieve, and the entire staff!

My wife and I recently had our wedding at Bean Town, and it’s truly impossible to put into words how incredible the entire experience was. From start to finish, the Bean Town team was exceptionally organized, thoughtful, and attentive to every detail. Everything was executed to absolute perfection.

Beaudry Flowers absolutely transformed our wedding at The River Lounge with their stunning floral designs! The centerpieces, card table, arch behind our sweetheart table, and the bouquets and boutonnieres were simply beautiful and far exceeded our expectations. Their talent and professionalism shone through in every detail, perfectly capturing our vision and making the venue look incredible.

Their close partnership with The River Lounge made the process seamless and efficient, as they were already familiar with the space. They worked with us to create gorgeous arrangements, even when it was hard to articulate the overall vision. The flowers were very fresh and vibrant, adding to the beauty of the day. Setup and takedown were included, which was a huge relief and allowed us to focus on enjoying the moment. We felt we got great value for what we paid.

For anyone planning an event, we highly recommend them for their creativity, professionalism, and ability to deliver - they are pros and it shows!

During wedding planning, of all my vendors, Beaudry had the most difficult part of making my vision a reality. Adding to the difficulty was that I lived in a different province, so everything had to be done remotely: I needed a faux floral installations to go on these beautiful but tall cathedral windows, which innately made it a logistical challenge, but in the end, it all came together like a dream.

Their faux florals are quality, and installment + takedown were neat and orderly without any damage to the structure itself. Beaudry worked with me back and forth over lengthy but patient email exchanges, always taking my feedback and being able to build on it, and their part was so foundational to the aesthetic that I was trying to pull off. They had the artistry and expertise to match my vision and in the end, the canvas of the venue that they worked on became a work of art.

I’m not easily impressed and I don’t usually write reviews, but this restaurant and especially Al, truly deserves it. We had a wonderful dinner here and were warmly welcomed by the very friendly staff. The atmosphere made our evening in Ottawa truly enjoyable. To top it all off, we were served a delicious dessert along with a selection of (dessert) wines, ensuring we could choose the perfect match. Such a beautiful way to end the night and our trip in Ottawa. :)

We love the staffs there, Sergio, Jocelyne, and all of them! They are professional, flexible, friendly, and most of all, fun!

Delicious food, and none of the miniscule portions you expect from a fine dining establishment. Beautiful historic home built into a restaurant, though some rooms are quite loud when packed. We were celebrating a birthday and the kind waiter gave us a lovely dessert wine, gratis.

Great night at Beckta. Some innovative dishes and some great flavours... service is very laid back which can make it slow but they are letting you call the shots.

I use to live near this shop around a decade ago that’s how I first stumbled upon it, but I still always come to this flower shop when I want that wow factor.

Personally I just let the owner know some colours I’m thinking and my budget and she works her magic! She is beyond knowledgeable with her craft, and has an incredible eye for creating the most beautiful arrangements, clearly! as pictured in the bouquet I had the pleasure of gifting my mom for her birthday today which she absolutely adored :)

I recently purchased two bouquets for my wife’s convocation ceremony, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! The owner worked within my budget and took the time to consider our preferences for flowers. She created two stunning bouquets with beautiful autumn colors that were unique from each other, showcasing her incredible skill and attention to detail. Will definitely come back!

Our stay was very enjoyable. The room was extremely clean and cozy. The breakfast offered to us was delicious! Oscar is a an attentive and gracious host who went above and beyond to meet our needs. He made us feel comfortable and welcomed. We enjoyed listening to him playing piano during our breakfast as well as our conversations. My husband, my daughter and I would highly recommend this B&B for a delightful and comfortable stay!

This B&B was a highlight of our trip to Ottawa. The breakfast was amazing and the jazz that the host played was so beautiful. The location is ideal and the room is comfortable with a nice balcony and everything we needed for a good nights rest after our Green Day concert. The shower also has really good water pressure. We enjoyed chatting with the other guests and hosts at breakfast before heading out. We’ll definitely be returning next time we’re in Ottawa.

I had an absolutely lovely stay at Bella Notte. I appreciated it was on a quiet street, but a walkable distance to the Bayward Market and other attractions

I stayed in the Sleeping Beauty room, which has a beautiful balcony overlooking the street, and a glimpse of the parliament tour. Having the screen door open at night allows for the perfect cool breeze, and the table and chairs on the balcony made for a beautiful spot to eat dinner.

There is free overnight parking on the street, but as I was staying a few days I parked at loblaws a few blocks away ($35 for three days). As I am not used to city traffic, I walked or Ubered. Being located downtown, Ubers were very inexpensive ($5 - $10)

Oscar and Lillianne graciously invited me into their home, which was stunningly clean (cleaner than hotels!) and the bathroom for the Sleeping Beauty room was huge, with a full bathtub and amenities like a hair dryer and make-up remover.

Each morning I woke up to the smell of fresh baked pastries (croissants or muffins), and was greeted with a stunningly set table. Breakfast had plenty of options from pastries, fruit salad, yogurt, jams, and eggs. Each morning while dinning, Oscar serenades you with his piano playing, adding the loveliest ambience to the meal.

I appreciate their flexibility in allowing me to choose my breakfast time the day before, so I could choose if I wanted to sleep in, or have an early morning before heading out to explore the city. As well, with the set-up of the house, I felt comfortable coming home late in the evenings without waking them.

The price for the stay aligned with hotels in the area, and I doubt you would find such amazing and personal service and delicious food at a hotel.

I very much enjoyed my stay, and look forward to visiting again the next time I am in Ottawa!

I loved my stay at Bella Notte. Lillian and Oscar are amazing music artists and hosts! I felt I was visiting soul friends! I stayed in the Swan Room - clean, spacious, so comfortable. Near the Byward Market! The whole house is inspiring- heritage with artful decor, vintage and gorgeous plants. Wholesome breakfast; and a real treat with Oscar playing beautifully on the baby grand piano. Deep conversations like old friends. I can’t wait to visit again. Thank you for making my stay so special while I brought my son to residency at Carleton University. I fully recommend Bella Notte.🏡🦋🙂
