A Perfect Stay!
We had an incredible experience at this bed and breakfast. The place was spotless, cozy, and clearly well cared for. What really made our stay memorable was the host he was warm, welcoming, and truly passionate about what he does.

He personally prepared us breakfast each morning, and it honestly felt like dining at a high-end restaurant. Everything was made from scratch, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. You can tell he puts his heart into every detail.

This was more than just a place to stay, it was an experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for comfort, quality, and a personal touch!

I really liked this place. However if you are sensitive to sleeping with any light then don’t stay here. (Light comes through transom and curtains.) This place was exceptionally clean. Breakfast was from 8-8:30 (but if discussed ahead the host is accommodating). There wasn’t any choice however the (vegetarian) meals were excellent. The rooms were very pleasant. There was a closet and a small full bathroom as part of the room. (There wasn’t air conditioning and it was a hot week but I was able to keep the windows open at night.) While buses do go on this street, the inn was quiet. Downtown Ottawa was an easy walk.

This B & B is a true gem. Vittorio is a fantastic host, ensuring that guests have all their needs met. Our guest room, #1, was spacious and beautifully decorated, as is the rest of this charming house. The breakfasts were scrumptious, including dishes such as waffles with whipped cream and maple syrup, smoothies with toppings of fresh fruit and frittatas. Coffee, tea and refrigerated bottled water were available throughout the day. If Ottawa is on your travel itinerary, you would throughly enjoy a stay at the Century House.

I booked this room first because acceptable hotels were completely sold out because of an exhibition taking place in ottawa. The room was so comfortable and in a nice location that next time I‘ll come back as first choice to this place. Vittorio was a superb host and made an awesome fresh breakfast. Thank you.

All my wife wanted for her birthday was a lemon cheesecake. I called the Cupcake Lounge and inquired if they were able to accommodate. They quickly took my order, on Friday afternoon for a Sunday pickup. This cheesecake was hands down the very BEST cheesecake we have ever had. The lemon curd on top was next level, the cheesecake was fluffy and just the right sweetness and the crust - I don’t even have words to describe how incredibly delicious it was. The presentation was absolutely gorgeous. Thank you so much for making my wife’s birthday complete with this perfect dessert.

I ordered a dozen cookies for a work event and we were beyond impressed! Everyone was so pleased with how delicious they were, and the art on them was incredible. We will all absolutely be back in future for more!

First of all, the cupcakes are a lot smaller than I expected for $5 each, but oh well. As others here have said, they were rather dry, which was surprising given that I picked them up in the morning. They kind of crumbled when my mom (who was celebrating her 90th birthday) tried to eat them with a fork. I got a 4 pack, which comes in this box that basically makes it impossible to get the cupcakes out without either destroying them or getting icing all over your fingers. Anyways, seems like a nice place and friendly people, but I don't think I'll go back.

The Cupcake Lounge made our wedding cake and we were so impressed with it! Our initial consultation with Laura was great, she allowed us to try many different cakes and explained all of the options to us. She is so friendly and easy to work with. Anytime I emailed her she was fast to respond & had no problem making a few changes. She also coordinated the fresh flowers that are on top of the cake (initial topper purchased elsewhere). There was also a delivery option for a very reasonable price. The cake was not only beautiful, but delicious. I highly recommend getting your wedding cake from here.

Atmosphere is great, there’s lots of available seating, it’s very cozy and smells absolutely phenomenal.

I came here to get a coffee and check out the place but was surprised to see gluten free options available, so I had to give them a shot, and they were pretty solid!

Although it wasn’t among the best coffees I’ve had, the atmosphere and service are next level.

The Design Co made our wedding dreams become a reality! We highly recommend them for a wedding or an event.

Sarah and Mel were absolutely wonderful to work with. Their attention to detail, eye for beauty and coordination skills are unequivocally the best. They went above and beyond in the planning of our wedding day, and on the day of - there is not a single thing they didn’t look after - from helping me last minute when my bridal hairdo became undone, calming a very nervous bride (me) with the help of Sarah’s very zen self and amazing yoga instructor skills, coordinating vendors, music, caterers - making sure we had time to ourselves to sit and enjoy - on top of just being SO friendly and so well liked by all our guests. They thought of every single aspect, and our wedding day was absolutely flawless. I cannot recommend them enough, they truly made our wedding day perfect - we could not have done this without them. Thank you Sarah and Mel, you are wedding planning experts (but also real life angels). 10/10 recommend

For my wedding, Erin Carmichael (co-owner and florist) provided us with boutonnières that died after 1 hour so we couldn't even take pictures with them. It's very disappointing since she charged us $20 for each boutonnière. When we complained, Stacey (co-owner) said: "flowers are living things and they die". When we emailed Erin some time later, she said: "I am happy to refund you" and "I will send the refund later today". But after that she ignored us and never refunded us, despite multiple reminders. Bad service.

The bouquets also died after a couple hours and looked too sad for pictures. When you pay so much for flowers ($125-200 per bouquet), you want to be able to take pictures with them but our photographers said they looked too tired. And it wasn't even hot that day.

Another issue we had with the florist is the backdrop behind our sweetheart table. We asked for 2 cherry blossom trees and a chandelier. She charged us $850 and the result was completely different than what we discussed. $850 for a few fake branches attached to a copper pipe, and a crooked chandelier which wasn't even on. Again, very disappointing. When we complained about it, she said: "I am very confused as to why you were unhappy with your head table backdrop" and then: "I stand behind what we provided".

Floral design is way overpriced and the flowers don't last. When you complain, they get defensive and blame it on you. Their creative freedom is more important than what the bride and groom ask.

Bouquet design and the centrepieces were nice.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay! Very clean and modern rooms, comfy bed, friendly and efficient staff and seriously delicious breakfast. I had a long day of travel and I was immediately put at ease once I got to my room here. The shower is also really nice and modern. My favorite part of staying here has been the superb breakfast and the great conversations with the owners, staff, and guests. I’ll definitely be back!

It was an excellent experience. Elodie was a great host. The room was very modern and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was tasty and filling. We will recommend it to family and friends.

Absolutely fantastic and adorable B&B right in the heart of downtown Ottawa. Elodie is a wonderful, sweet and kind host and she makes a great breakfast. I loved the shower, it’s simply amazing. The bed was really comfortable so I got a great night’s sleep after my long days. It was a perfect cozy hideaway for me.

The Don Club B&B was a great choice. It was safe, clean, quiet & comfortable. Parking was easy & spacious. The location was easily walkable to most of the sites. Breakfast was fabulous & the proprietor was super friendly & helpful. I highly recommend staying here.

In the case of the Don Club, the B&B stands for Best of the Best! Our stay at the Don Club was its own highlight of the trip. From the home-made breakfast to the amazing décor to the one of a kind hosts, this is a great place to stay! I would highly recommend the Don Club for anyone looking for a fun, affordable and well located place to stay while in Ottawa. Shout out to Elodie who really made our experience in Ottawa so special!

I just needed a plumbing part. Rang the bell at the service counter and no one came. Two people walked past without asking if I, as the only person at the counter needed any help. I went into the store to see if they could get someone to help. They just pointed me back to the counter. When someone finally came, they told me that they didn't have my oart and that no one would carry it and that I would have to contact the manufacturer of the 30 year old water filter. It was just a simple jam connector like you would use to connect a water line to a fridge. I went to Home Depot where they had 3 different options. I won't be back.

Had a great experience getting parts. The gentleman there was very friendly, professional, and helpful. The lady who checked us out was likewise great to deal with, and she cheerfully helped me with a return the following business day. Made my afternoon - thanks!

We renovated our bathrooms, hallway and powder room. We bought new vanities, faucets and a toilet from EP Store, and had everything installed, including new tiles for the hallway and powder room. Hamza, their customer representative was great - he was very helpful with our selection process, with ordering and coordinating. Carlos and Kevin, who installed the vanities, the new plumbing and tiles, did an excellent job, and dealt with all the unexpected issues in a timely fashion, and found solutions for everything. Great experience, I can wholeheartedly recommend the store.

I must give 5 PLUS stars to this store located in Bells Corners. I am doing a major renovation and have purchased lighting, toilets, vanities, a tub, ceiling fans and shower fixtures.
The quality of the products are top notch, but even better is the amazing customer service. The knowledge of the products I was purchasing and the support I received from Jim was outstanding. This is my go to place and I can’t wait to show the outcome of my Reno … it’s gonna be stunning !

The EP Store is amazing, and I would give them 6 stars if I could. Their staff is not only knowledgable, but they're kind and they stand by the products they sell. A few months ago I purchased a toilet at this location and recently had plumbing issues. The plumbing company I worked with suggested the issue was with the toilet, but EP wanted to make sure and offered to send someone to check it out at no cost because they really believe in what they sell to their customers. In the end, the issue was not the toilet, and with the support of EP, I was able to get to the bottom of the issue. From the start with Mark (who sold me the product) to Brian (who was patient, understanding and who helped me recently with my issues--thank you!!), EP went above and beyond and really is the model for a business that sells quality products with top-tier customer service and support. The store definitely carries a lot of higher end products, but you really do get a matching level of quality both with what you buy and help from the absolutely amazing staff. If you're looking to replace a toilet or upgrade home fixtures, EP should be your first stop.

We bought six Whittaker dining room chairs from Emporium. They are comfortable and look fantastic. They are so well-made. Plus, I love the finish. I also received amazing and knowledgeable service in making sure the chairs matched the table in style and worked ergonomically. I highly recommend the Emporium!

The owners are very sweet and highly knowledgeable. This is not you modern day furniture shopping experience, it is everything that you wish shopping for furniture was! They took their time to help us choose something right for us. They worked with our colour palette to make recommendations and they offered helpful suggestions. We really enjoyed chatting with them and our visit in general. We highly recommend The Emporium!!!

We recently purchased furniture for our living room, den, and "cafe" (converted dining room) and the assistance we received from both Michael and Heather in selecting our pieces was exceptional. The furniture is of high quality and the colours and design are not your run of the mill grey. The reaction of our family and friends was "wow".

We have a couch that is a few years old. Pretty soon, it stated shedding feathers, as the cushions aren’t properly lined. Now it’s flat as a pancake, and my knees are higher than my hips sitting down. I didn’t expect this low level of quality. It is extremely uncomfortable and we’re going to have to replace it.

Just walked into the store today to peruse and was helped by Ryan. He was very informative, friendly and clearly knew his products well. Their pieces are well presented and seem like quality products. I would definitely return .

Guy DJed our wedding and absolutely KILLED it!!! He kept the party going all night - there was never a person off of the dance floor. Prior to the wedding, he took the time to understand the type of music and vibe that we wanted and he totally delivered. So grateful to him for helping make sure our night was a magical one✨✨✨ the best in the biz!!!

Guy is not just a fabulous DJ. He's a wonderful wonderful person and he deserves all of the success in the world. He was the DJ for my wedding on June 8 2025, and from the moment we spoke on the phone months ago, I knew he was special. He has such a warm, kind personality and he put so much love and care into my wedding. It was the PERFECT mix of what the bride and groom love (country) with what our guests and family expected (disco, Israeli, Arabic music) and he did it sooooo seamlessly. Even our officiant complimented how good the music was!! Guy is truly a step above the rest, and he will put 1000000% effort into your big day, and he will make single guest happy. He can read the room like no other, and he really did a wonderful job keeping me calm and giving me confidence throughout the day. I cannot overstate how perfect of a DJ he is and how much of a good guy he is. Please PLEASE hire him, you won't regret it!!!!!

Guy was absolutely incredible at our wedding! The music was perfect from start to finish, the dance floor was full all night, and every moment felt effortless and fun. Guests are still raving about the music. He blended incredibly well the vibe of the crowd with the style of music we were looking for. He even indulged us with a special request for a Mr Brightside three-peat —truly the best DJ we could have asked for! What a night!

We had Guy for our wedding and his presence was awesome, from the start of the ceremony, during cocktail, reception and up until the very end of the night. He incorporated our song requests perfectly during the evening, made announcements when required but nothing over the top in that department (which was what we wanted), and had our guests and us dancing until the very last minute! Our special night wouldn’t have been the same without him. Thank you so much!

We hired The Event Guy for our son’s bar mitsva. The DJ came with 2 animators.
All I can say is they made it the best party ever. Best DJ you can find in the industry for your event.

Les Flavoureux catered our wedding and they exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious during the tasting and they delivered quality dishes to over 100+ guests on the day of the wedding. The #1 feedback from our guest was how much they enjoyed the food (especially the hangar steak). Furthermore, the owner, Raphael was excellent in the planning stages. He was always available by email or phone. We ran ideas by him on the Day of Schedule, the logistics of bar, decor etc and he was always helpful and gave excellent recommendations. Wedding planning could be stressful but we never had any stresses with our caterer. If you're looking for high quality ingredients, dishes and service I would highly recommend Les Flavoureux to cater your next event!

Magnificent catering at my daughter and son-in-law’s wedding this weekend at the Museum of Nature. The food was delicious, plentiful and wonderfully presented. The catering staff who attended the wedding venue were outstanding.

Just had their food at a conference. AMAZING! Delicious is an understatement. It tastes like food that I would make from scratch. At the same time there were great flavour combo discoveries. And the service was well above par. Chef’s kiss!

Les Flavoureux did an excellent job catering our September wedding at the Canadian Museum of Nature. Raphael and his team worked with us to bring our wedding vision to life. Leading up to the wedding we appreciated the prompt responses from Raphael, who worked to accommodate any and all requests. He also gave us great feedback and ideas based on their previous experience catering at the museum. On the wedding day, the team of staff and bartenders did an excellent job and brought a fun atmosphere to the evening! We received lots of compliments on the food, both in terms of the quality and presentation. The cocktail hour canapés were a big hit, as well as the late night taco station! We also appreciated the flexibility with wine selection, which our guests loved. Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend them to anyone considering Les Flavoureux catering on their wedding day!

I recently hired this catering company for my 25th wedding anniversary party. I was really pleased with this company in that the food was extremely tasty, they worked within my budget (very reasonable pricing), and also made sure that people with dietary restrictions were taken care of. The vegetarian option was not an afterthought. It was very good and had protein. The communication was excellent as well - whenever I called them or emailed them they got back to me right away (thank you Elise!) I would highly recommend!

Fabulous experience working with Amanda and her team. Planning a wedding through a pandemic and living in another city, Amanda was great to setup zoom calls and share photos to bring my vision to life. My expectations were exceeded once I saw the ceremony and reception areas. Amanda and her team took care of all the setup and takedown on the wedding day. It was a lovely surprise to see Amanda before walking down the aisle and at the end of the evening to thank her for everything. I got to enjoy my flowers for a week after the wedding. Our wedding day wouldn’t have been possible without Amanda, Grace and their team. Amanda is so amazing and incredibly talented at what she does. She is such a professional. I wasn’t 100% sure with my vision and she created exactly what I was hoping for. She is so fun to work with, so friendly and just the kindest person. You can truly tell she puts her whole heart into her work and wants to make your dream wedding day perfect. Amanda did all our décor. Our venue was at the Horticulture Building at Lansdowne so our space had nothing in it. She brought it to life and did such an amazing job. She also did our flowers and coordinated our day. These flowers were my wedding flower dreams. They were exactly what I was hoping for. I am obsessed with how they turned out. They were perfect and absolutely stunning! I gave Amanda a few photos and ideas and from there she made magic.

Being a bride and planning your wedding can also just feel very lonely and so overwhelming. Every time I chatted with Amanda, I would feel SO much better. She puts your mind at ease and is just so wonderful to work with. Our wedding day wouldn’t have happened the way I wanted without her. I am so grateful to have worked with her! She was the first vendor I booked after we selected our venue. Don’t think twice about booking her. Coming from a very stressed, detailed oriented, type A bride (who also works in the wedding industry as a photographer) Amanda, and her team are everything and more you would want for your special day. The support you get from them, on top of all the planning meant so much to me. I am also sure Amanda dealt with so much on the wedding day and leading it up to it that I am not even aware of, she can sort out any situation and make a wedding day run so smoothly. We are so thankful for her!!!

Our wedding cake turned out like a dream with just ONE reference photo! Linda was very professional, straightforward and very pleasant to talk to (she was also patient - crucial for bride-to-be's). The cake itself was fairly priced and received compliments the entire night! Can't recommend her enough to everyone I know :D

Amy and Linda at short notice did up amazing birthday cupcakes for my daughter who works at Mahogany spa in Carlton Place with beautiful pieces on the cupcakes themed with her job, nail polish bottle make up compacts etc the detail that Amy and Linda put into their art of design and creating the theme I really wanted was above and beyond what I could ever imagine. The staff and managers were blown away and wanted to know where the cupcakes came from I happily provided the contact info and name of business . Would definitely recommend way over 5 star.

I’m not entirely sure if it was Linda or Amy that I spoke with over the phone about a month ago (I think it was Amy), but I’ve been meaning to give her a huge shoutout! She was absolutely amazing—so professional, incredibly kind, and genuinely such a joy to speak with.

We were in a bit of a bind and needed a custom cake on very short notice—like, two days—and Amy didn’t even flinch. She jumped right in, offered us options, and did everything she could to help make it happen. That kind of service is so rare, especially when it comes to custom cakes (and understandably so!).

But between the quality of their cakes and the incredible service, I honestly don’t think I’d ever order from anywhere else.

In the end, our friends decided not to go through with the order due to budget concerns, but I was blown away by the entire experience. I didn’t even get to try the cake, and yet I already know I’ll be ordering from here in the future just based on how wonderful the service was.

Also, I want to sincerely apologize if I put her in a difficult spot that day—I know it was a lot to ask last-minute, but she handled it with such grace. Seriously, thank you!

Ordered one of each flavour of mini cake for the dessert table at my mum's 60th birthday party we were hosting at the Brookstreet Hotel. Our balloon colours were sapphire blue, different shades of purple, and rose gold, and I asked that the cakes were "fun" and "fresh" looking. The whole process from ordering to pickup was easy--and after I was a proper goof and forgot to send her the money for them right away, she went out of her way to squeeze my order back in when I realized. My expectations were blown away--they were adorable and really made the dessert table. I hate fondant, so was so excited about the buttercream icing which was as good as she says hers is. And for anyone concerned about picking up the cakes ahead of your event so having to freeze them, I froze mine for three weeks before my event. As instructed by TGWTMC, I plastic wrapped the box of cakes and put it in the freezer. They thawed on the day just fine, and looked the same as they did when I picked them up. The cakes were still moist and oh so delicious. Will definitely be ordering from here again--I think it is the perfect size of cake at such a fair price tag for celebrating a friend's birthday with them.

I highly recommend the Global Centre for Pluralism for their venue rental. I used them for a corporate meeting and event. The Dialogue Centre and lobby are clean, beautiful and modern with a lot of natural light - our guests really enjoyed it. All staff and Hicham in particular were very professional and accommodating. Coordination between the venue, AV services and catering went super smoothly.

We've used this space for corporate meetings several times. It's a beautiful environment, with excellent equipment and the staff are consistently professional and helpful. Always a pleasure to be here.

I attended a wedding at The Grand and my family and I had such a great time. The venue is beautiful! Lovely decor in both the ceremony room and the reception hall. We also had the chance to enjoy drinks and appetizers at their pub and outdoor patio. It was fantastic! The service too was incredible and the food was amazing. From the appetizers all the way to desserts and late night snack tables, everything was delicious. I would totally recommend this venue if you need to host a special occasion!

I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at The Grand Carleton Place in mid-August, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. The venue itself is stunning — elegant, spacious, and filled with beautiful natural light that made capturing the day such a joy.

What truly stood out, though, was the staff. Steve, the manager, was incredibly hospitable and went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly for the couple, their guests, and even us vendors. The entire team was professional, attentive, and genuinely kind, which made such a difference in creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.

From a photographer’s perspective, it’s a dream location with both indoor and outdoor options that photograph beautifully. But more importantly, The Grand Carleton Place delivers an exceptional guest (and vendor!) experience, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to any couple searching for their wedding venue.

We recently celebrated our wedding at The Grand Hotel and couldn’t be happier with the experience. From start to finish, Steve and his team were incredible — professional, organized, and truly committed to making sure everything ran smoothly. They really made our day feel effortless and exceeded all of our expectations.

Our guests raved about the food (huge compliments to the chef!) and especially loved the Lavender Hibiscus Lemonade mocktail. Every detail was so well taken care of, and we felt completely at ease throughout the entire wedding planning process.

The grand hotel has been the most phenomenal service that my husband and I got to experience. The Herb Garden is hands down one of my favourite wedding venues in the Ottawa area. What an absolutely perfect place to have a wedding!
My husband and I recently got married at The Herb Garden and it was the most perfect atmosphere we could have asked for. The decor that they have set up (even before we set up any of our own decor!) is so beautiful and elegant and it makes adding your own spin so very easy!
Katey and Nathan are extremely easy to work with and communicate very efficiently. On our wedding day they were busy behind the scenes making sure everything was running smoothly, but you never would have even known they were there!

We had access to everything we needed while we were there, including a bridal lounge, buffet/dessert barn, washrooms, open fields, a gazebo, indoor and outdoor bar area, various extra decor pieces, and so much more.
Dozens of our guests came up to us during the evening telling us what an amazing venue we chose and how it was so personable and cozy, and we could not agree more.

If you are looking for a beautiful wedding location out in the country, you will find none better than The Herb Garden!

If it wasn't for this venue, we would have likely cancelled our wedding. It was the most perfect, beautiful venue and was exactly what we were looking for. We only saw one venue, and booked it before we left.
On top of that, the owners are the most amazing people and are perfect for this industry. Katey and Nathan don't just provide you the venue, but provide you the opportunity to make your wedding how you want it. The flexibility of bringing in our own catering, alcohol service, music options, and more made our wedding feel unique and that's what we were looking for. They are there to help and guide you as needed, and are so unbelievably helpful leading up to the event. And then night of, my goodness they were superstars. There is an endless list of compliments that we can give to this venue, but even more so about the amazing owners.
Please, do yourself a favour and just visit this venue if you have any desire for an outdoor barn style wedding. And make sure to meet with Katey and Nathan. And then just take it in before you make a decision. Because I can tell you, this is the right spot for your wedding!

Booked my appointment online the day of, got there and they took care of me real quick.
Rico was very nice and professional. He took the time to make sure my hair would look great and the way I wanted. I recommend King's Barbershop to anyone looking for a fresh haircut - I will be going back.

I set up an appointment, go in and they say what I ask for is too complicated(#6 buzz cut). Then they gave me a business card to call the owner to cut my hair… as if I won’t simply go to another business. The barbers working here seemed inexperienced, and are terrible for business. The reviews on google don’t seem to reflect the quality of the people hired. It should be called The Peasant's Barbershop because as soon as you explain specific details, they seem lost and simply want you in and out as soon as possible. You can't charge $45 for a haircut and not pay attention to what the customer wants. If you're a man who cares about your hair, don't go here. It's a huge waste of time.

Been going here for a few years and always get top notch service. Ivan is a pro, efficient, and gives you the haircut you need. The owner Omar is just as great. I always enjoy coming into The King's Barbershop. All their staff is welcoming and they have top of the line product to offer for a reasonable price.

My boy Saini knows what’s up. Always getting compliments on the tight skin fade. Go see him, you won’t be disappointed!!

During my research, there weren’t that many available options for smaller, more intimate gatherings, but as far as I’m concerned, The Knox is all you’ll ever need: picturesque, charming, cozy, classy. Michelle and all those working with her run a beautiful establishment. There’re also a good amount of inclusive décor options which make for significant ease of planning. Her website is clear and detailed and correspondence with her was always quick and responsive.

You know a venue is lovely when it looks as good as it does even as a blank canvas, and decorating that space on our big day was the ultimate fairytale experience.

The Knox was a wonderful venue for our 80 person wedding on August 2, 2025. I highly recommend also staying at the Maple & Rose, which is only a 2 minute drive from the Knox.

Working with Michelle as our Coordinator at the Knox was a wonderful experience. She is well versed in wedding planning and captured all the little details that may have slipped through the cracks. Even with last minute changes (literally the day before!), she was able to make it happen efficiently and without any stress.

We had an outdoor ceremony under a tent, followed by cocktail hour on the side and front yard, and the reception was held inside. The lighting is simply beautiful inside and having candles makes all the difference once the sun goes down. We had our first dance under the string lights outside on the side lawn.

We received so many comments about how the space "suited us" and guests really felt the intimacy. If you are looking for a wedding venue that is beautiful, accommodating, and intimate, I couldn't recommend the Knox more. It was truly a magical day with friends and family.

Of note, when it's dusk / when the sun goes down, there can be mosquitos (dependent on the season). We bought a couple Thermecell Mosquito Repellent canisters from Home Depot and placed them on the perimeter of the lawn, which helped a lot.

The Knox was the PERFECT setting for our wedding! The service was amazing, special thank you to Sydney for helping make our day run seamlessly. The venue itself speaks for itself, the most beautiful, classic blank slate that you honestly don’t even need to decorate for it to look beautiful! We had minimal additions for decor and it was still extremely elegant. All of the staff has such wonderful attention to detail, and the special gift we received the night before our wedding was a lovely, unexpected touch! Everyone had a wonderful time! Thank you so much Michelle for helping us with our tour and checking the space out a few weeks before our wedding day to make sure our vision for the floor plan would work out. We couldn’t have asked for better!

We were so fortunate to get married at The Knox in July 2023! The venue is absolutely stunning both indoors and outdoors. Love the smaller and intimate setting inside. Merrickville brought a little extra nice charm to the day and night. Michelle made everything so easy for us as the owner, she was there from our first site visit, walking us through the plans for the day, and took care of everything for us alongside our wedding planner on the day of. We felt so comfortable and relaxed with her and her team, they are all amazing! She also gave so many great recommendations of places to get our wedding photos, bars for after hours, places to stay, and vendor recommendations.

Great visit to the oldest pub in Ottowa, friendly service and some great local beers on tap. Plus the Hot Honey wings were really good with the beers.

The Laff in Ottawa was a cool oldest pub here with a cozy atmosphere and delicious poutine and refreshing cider beer. The poutine is perfectly cheesy and has a savory gravy on the fries. The cider beer on tap compliments it with a crisp, fruity taste. Finally the music of the longtime musician was great as he’d sing many classic American songs. Was a great place to go and hang out!!🍟🍺

Love the old character and the great ambiance of this place. The little pictures and paintings here and there are wonderful. The bartender was professional and friendly. The burger and smoked meat sandwich were both amazing! And we tried some new beer that we loved as well. Highly recommended.

Lovely staff, amazing vibe, and wonderful customers! I was visiting Ottawa and stumbled upon The Laff by pure chance. Charly, in particular, was incredibly kind and attentive. If you are looking for human interaction, The Laff is your place. Such a great experience!

Enjoyed a quick stop while visiting the area for a quick beer and appetizer. Had vintage Labatt beer, Labatt 50, which was available in regular bottles, very large bottles (I believe 710ml) or draft. Enjoyed an order of bobo balls which hit the spot. Reasonable priced menu. Would definitely return next time I’m in the area

While in Ottawa for work I needed to get a fresh cut. Let me say Larry will be my barber any time I’m within an hour of the area. Highly skilled, meticulous and proud of his work and family owned shop. Great conversation and an even better haircut. After talking with Larry during my appointment I’m confident that anyone working at this shop will exceed your expectations. Thanks again for the welcoming experience and great cut!

I had a 2 pm appointment with Larry today but was running late and called him just 15-20 minutes before. He told me that if I could make it by 2:10 since he had a client soon after, he’d do his best, and he absolutely did. I arrived right at 2:10, and he still welcomed me in, never made me feel rushed, and gave me another fantastic haircut.

Beyond the cut, I always enjoy our conversations. Larry’s experiences and advice are inspiring, and I leave feeling better than when I walked in. Thank you for being so friendly and understanding. Looking forward to my next visit!

Very happy with the cut I got from Alex. He understood what I was looking for without complication, and I trusted him to shape my beard up and just do 'what he thinks would look best' and I'm glad I did. This is for my wedding so it was important and I would recommend paying the little extra compared to other barbershops if you would like a cut above.

At The Lion’s Mane you’ll find meticulous barbers with artistry, professionalism and passion. The staff is welcoming and friendly. The shop has a cool and relaxed vibe. Consistently impressed with their work. It’s always a fun experience.

If you enjoy retro video games or all forms of board games, this is the place to be, I promise you that you will be delighted. The food and beverages are also top notch and the friendly staff often have at least decent working knowledge of many of the games so as to give you a kick start in the learning department. Do call ahead to see if a reservation is necessary, as the tables do not free up quickly.

Lookout Bar – Inclusive Vibes & Stellar Performances

I’ve been to Lookout Bar twice now—once during Pride and again more recently. While the physical setup of the bar could use a refresh, it somehow adds to the charm and laid-back energy. The space is proudly inclusive, with a welcoming vibe that makes everyone feel at home. Drinks are solid (though I wish the cocktails packed a bit more punch), and the music and performances are consistently fantastic. The ByWard Market location is super convenient, especially if you’re hopping between spots. Great place to celebrate, dance, and feel part of the community.

Every time I go there, there is always something new and exciting! Drag show, karaoke, and the drinks are all top notch!

Very LGBTQ+ friendly, and zero judgement!

Highly recommend you come here for a taste of what they have to offer!

Went here for a really fun drag show on Saturday night, the performers were beyond hilarious and it was a fun opportunity to wear the Filipino pride shirt my friends got me for my birthday this year.

It was an amazing night with amazing drag queens that night.

They could work a little bit more with the stage where they perform so people from the back could see them but overall amazing!

Cant wait to comeback next month ❤️❤️
