We just had our wedding here on August 23, 2025 in the farmhouse (60 people) and had a fantastic experience. Our coordinator was Linda and we were so lucky to have her. She was extremely organized, kind and never made us feel annoying for asking questions. We were able to go into our day confidently with her help and attention to detail, she even brought us waters when taking pictures and ensured my train was perfect before walking down the aisle! Our bartender was Ellie and she had amazing energy, myself and our guests loved her.

Multiple people told us this was the best weeding food they've had. Neither the chicken or beef was dry and was truly cooked perfectly. Everything was fresh. The service at dinner was amazing. My friend who was pregnant told me later they even checked with her how she'd like her meat cooked and this made her very comfortable eating the meal.

We had signed on two years prior and leading up to the day they were constantly improving the space (fresh coats of paint, etc.) it was fantastic. Also another small thing I loved is they don't use the standard banquet chairs, they us beautiful cross back wood chairs, so you don't have to worry about chair covers, etc.

Everything was fantastic and would certainly recommend having a wedding here!

We recently celebrated my sister’s wedding at Strathmere and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The venue is stunning, the grounds, the rustic charm, and the atmosphere made it feel magical. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and that the day was stress-free for all of us. The food and service were incredible, and the whole experience was more than we could have hoped for. Truly an unforgettable day. Strathmere is the perfect place for a wedding!

We had our wedding at the Garden House at Strathmere and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The venue is stunning, surrounded by beautiful gardens and nature with a warm and elegant atmosphere inside. The staff went above and beyond to make everything seamless and stress free, from planning to the big day.

The coordinators were incredibly helpful and attentive, making sure every detail was handled so we could truly enjoy the moment.

We could not have asked for a better experience and highly recommend the Garden House at Strathmere to any couple looking for a magical wedding venue.

The estate was so luxurious and beautiful. My cousin had her wedding there last weekend and it was so beautiful and grand. The hospitality and service is top notch. You can also visit here to spend time with your family. They even got their own farm, salt water pool and luxurious wellness. Thank you for making us feel welcomed. I will definitely come here for a staycation.

I got a slice of the coffee cake at $1.84 only as it was on the 50% off tray. For being gluten free, it was a great pastry at a great price. However, the cake was very dry and not very fluffy. I would’ve been fooled in thinking it was a regular cake if not for the dryness. Or maybe it was just because it was not fresh from the day.

I was so happy to find a fully vegan bakery in Ottawa, I never would've guessed that it was gluten free :) and kosher and nut free. I stopped here for brunch and got a cinnamon roll, a banana chocolate muffin and a berry iced tea slushie. All DELICIOUS!

I visited to purchase an allergy free dessert for my niece. I visited on a Friday afternoon-the person at the counter simply said they didn't have what I was looking for-no further discussion/options offered. I had seen their cakes at another store, and was able to find the item I had requested at that location. My niece and her friend didn't care for the cake, saying it was dense and they didn't like the taste. They only had a bite each before it was discarded.

The Cold brew was sadly unavailable when I arrived, however, they were quite pleasant about making a substitution. Their service was prompt and friendly and I would expect a good experience if I ordered their products.

I ended up ordering their special "Orange Truffle Mocha." It was good. My companion enjoyed their standard coffee.

Nice and cozy bakery on Richmond Road. The staff was welcoming and ready to assist during my visit. I had questions and the staff member went the extra mile to look for the answer to provide me with tailored answers.

The place looked well lit due to the large windows, the very high ceiling and the spacious venue. An option to sit in is available. Some cakes are available for immediate purchase and they offer a selection of cold and hot drinks. The prices are okay, not cheap and there’s also a selection of breads.

Parking is on the street and is not free.
Overall nice location and nice service.

My experience with Structube this year has been pretty disappointing. I purchased furniture from them back in 2012, and I am pleased with my purchases. The table I still use and the sofa I sold several years ago.
A few weeks ago, I went to the store train yards and found what I thought was the perfect recliner, sofa table, and area rug for my new space.
The chair and table were delivered a few days later, and both items were defective. The base of the table was all marked up, and the material on the chair had some significant creases due to improper packaging or storage methods. I spoke to the manager of the store, who informed me of the return and exchange process.
The table was back ordered, but they told me someone would come to collect both items. A replacement chair would be sent, and when the table was available, they would let me know.
They did indeed follow through with that. However, the replacement chair came, and it too was defective in fact in worse shape than the one they took away.
I have since returned that chair and informed them I no longer want the table that is backordered nor the area rug that I have put a deposit on.
Sad to see yet another store succumb to subpar quality.
Oh yeah, one more added inconvenience; they called to let me know my items have been returned and the refund is available. However, I have to go in person to the store with my credit card to have it processed.

Terrible experience and buyer beware!!
Purchased the Rhode Dining Room table and Denmark chairs from Structube the end of April. Everything came damaged when delivered (should have been a sign that the quality was cheap & to just get a refund) but they wanted to make things right and send over replacements for everything. Took another day off work to get the new replacements delivered the second week of May. 2 months later, after using my dining room table a handful of times it started to crack!! I never even cleaned it! When emailing and calling the store, they said this was considered normal wear and tear. What?? What kind of table starts cracking in 2 different areas when used 5 times in 2 months! When asked what the warranty actually covers for a table.. the guy I spoke to couldn’t even answer the question and said to refer to the warranty book. Tables that start shifting and cracking is not wear and tear- that is a manufacturing defect. I’m not asking for a brand new table, just the top of it replaced. Super disappointing and for those asking- please listen to the reviews, the quality is cheap and they don’t care about making things right. Spend your money elsewhere

I want to love Structube, but have had issues with every order - both online and in store at Trainyards. In my last order, the couch arrived without pilot holes and instructions to only use a screwdriver to attach the legs to the frame. It clearly said not to use power tools unless indicated.
Multiple screw heads broke off while trying to assemble it and their store manager, Niousha, told us we could pay $69 plus tax to have them remove it from the house. They would not work with us and said that it isn’t covered under warranty as it occurred during assembly. The warranty states “improper assembly” yet when asked how it constituted as “improper” assembly, following their instructions, they avoided answering multiple times. The screws were the issue…
They also would not send along contact information for anyone above store manager level for escalation.

I was able to attach the legs by getting screws elsewhere, but now it’s a case of how long it will hold up since the new holes are close to where the screws broke off…

Another item was broken upon opening the packaging and they had no issue sending the truck to pick that up but we had “passed the deadline” to pay and have them pick up the couch… plus once you toss a box, they also won’t collect it??

I suppose you get what you pay for… lesson learned.

Just know that the customer service at this location is horrible. Tony was great to deal with but other than him, everyone I’ve spoken to couldn’t care less about customer service and support. Please take this as feedback to re-train your staff on how to speak to customers and address any concerns. All extra fees such as the reschedule fee should be made aware of to the customer.

I am disappointed in Structube Trainyards and the staff that work there. I called to order a grey Polly dinning chair on August 24 for pick up at the store and was told it would arrive in September 3rd. I placed the order. When I called on September 5th as I was close to Trainyards for pick up I was told that it was never ordered as it didn’t show up in my profile. I was then told they’d check in on what happened and called me back in 30 minutes and I never received a call back. I tried calling 3 times since then and nobody picked up except for the last time when someone picked up and hung up right away. Very disappointing

I walked in the salon, and I got a glass of wine to unwind, first hair cut in years. Salon was clean and everyone there is very friendly. i want to shout out KEARN PAYNE who completed my cut, full head of low lights and style. He has a great personality; it was a pleasure getting my hair done by him. I feel like a new woman :) Thanks again I look forward to the next visit.

I have been going to this place for years now and i had a hairdresser that was so good and always gave me what i asked for, unfortunately that hairdresser moved to the US so i had to get a new one. I came in for just a trim and the guy i got was very nice and at first i thought he was gonna give me exactly what i asked for, which was a one inch trim and i told him i wanted to keep it long and not to do more than one inch and i also asked for very light layers. And i also showed him how much i meant by one inch but once he started to cut my hair i knew he was cutting way to much and usually hairdressers ask you if the amount they are cutting off is good but he never did... By the end when he finished blow drying my hair you could see that the layers were super choppy and looked terrible and he cut almost three inches off. He also started to thin my hair a little and i never asked him to do. The whole car ride back and until i went to sleep i was bailing my eyes out because of how much i hated it. And i have been growing my hair out for so long and all i asked for is just a trim but obviously he didn't listen.

These cookies are seriously amazing. Ya, they’re a bit pricey for a cookie, but once you take a bite, you get it. They’re stuffed with ooey gooey goodness. The staff were super friendly and down-to-earth. The whole vibe was really positive, and you could tell people are loving this place. There were customers constantly coming in while we were there, so I imagine they sell out fast. We’ll 100% be back.

Pro tip: pop them in the microwave for 15 seconds!

I’ve never really been into stuffed cookies, but Kat’s Cookie changed everything! Every cookie was so delicious, flavorful, and had such a great texture. The service was wonderful - warm and welcoming with a smile, which is always appreciated. I’ll definitely be back!

I was introduced to this place today by my boyfriend’s brother. The three of us popped by right as they opened today while we were on an outing. This is now my favourite cookie place and will definitely be going back. The staff are friendly, the business looks clean and the cookies are delightful. I had the chocolate cheesecake flavour. It was great. I can’t wait to go back and try more flavours.

The owners and the staff are such lovely people, you can really tell they take pride in what they do. They are always so welcoming every time we come in and have such creative cookie flavours (and names) that it makes it almost impossible to choose! From their traditional cookies like the Basic Batch to their intricate stuffed cookies like the PB & Love with a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup in the middle, you really can't go wrong!

I had a private shopping experience with Mandy in her store and it was AMAZING! She quickly assessed my style and presented me with many fun options to try on. I always need a little help to go outside of my comfort zone, and she delivered! I have new pieces that I would not have chosen on my own, and many suggestions for how to incorporate versatility with accessories and shoes. Had a fantastic experience getting my first suit from Suit Up! UK was incredibly helpful, friendly, and professional throughout the whole process. He walked me through every detail (from fabric to fit to styling) without the pushy “sales guy” vibe. It genuinely felt like he wanted to help me find my suit, not just make a sale.

The suit turned out great. Fit is clean and the fabric feels high quality. I’ll definitely be coming back for future suits.

I recently had a 3 piece suit and shirt made for my wedding and the suit not only looks and feels amazing but the price was too!!

Prior to visiting Suit Up, I went to nearly every made to measure and custom suit store in the city. I found many of the stores tried to upsell premium packages, shoes, ties, etc. and often the salesmen had suits that did not fit them correctly! When I met with UK I noticed his suit fit him perfectly... which should be a given for someone selling suits. He has a no nonsense, for the people approach to business, where his only goals are to get you the perfect suit at a price you will be happy with. There is no fancy storefront, no displays, no whisky night for your groomsmen, only the best suit and service you can get for the price!

The service provided by UK is truly top notch. The suits are truly custom, I wanted a specific lapel width because I like the look of a skinnier lapel akin to the style of Sy Devore suits and classic rat pack. Many other shops said they could not change the lapel width, but at Suit Up it was no problem. UK did not upsell premium fabrics or even other products. I did buy a custom shirt from him but he never mentioned he also sells shirts until I asked.

UK only accepts perfection. He sent my suit for alterations for a minor ripple between the shoulder blades, because he wanted it to be 100% perfect and lay completely flat.

My groomsmen also got their suits from Suit Up and they each were giftwrapped in the suit perfectly. All four of them are different shapes and sizes and each was perfectly constructed. One of my groomsmen had their suit delivered and they said it fit good, but UK said he will be the judge of that and wanted a photo so he can ensure the suit actually fits well. As alterations are included, it would've been disadvantageous for UK to do any, but he wanted a perfect fit.

UK is very friendly and always happy to educate on how a suit should fit, how to fold and maintain a suit, and provide style suggestions when prompted. He is very humble and treats you like a friend, not a customer.

Suit Up! Is the only place I will be buying suits and shirts from now on.

Got my wedding suit made with Suit Up! and I couldn't be happier with the end results. The fit, feel, and quality of the suit was really good for the money. I felt like a million bucks on the day of.

Ideally, I wanted to give 4.5 stars if I could but, unfortunately Google Maps doesn't allow for decimals and 4 stars would be too low.

UK was super chill, patient (I changed my mind a few times throughout the whole process), and just the nicest guy to work with.

I did however find the first part of the suit making process quite overwhelming and was lacking a bit of guidance for someone new to the process. Maybe a lot of it was on me, I should've came in being way more prepared about what I actually wanted. UK was extremely nice though and even went out of his way to help me with a vest issue I had.

Reading most of the existing reviews, I realize I'm in the minority here but I just want to be honest about how I felt about the process.

TLDR: End result was good, wish I had taken my time for the initial suit design process instead of rushing through it in one sitting, but in the end, I made my whole outfit work and it looked and felt amazing. I would recommend Suit Up! however do take your time, and don't rush the process!

We got our suits for my wedding from Suit Up and I have so many great things to say. It was an absolute pleasure to meet and work with U.K, he is extremely punctual, honest, and intelligent. Our suits were fantastic. The fit, style, and price were top quality. He made sure myself and my groomsmen looked and felt our best for an amazing day!

My husband and I visited UK in March to have a suit for him made for our son’s wedding in May. The suit is beautiful and fits him to a T. The timing was perfect, service was professional and thorough. My husband has never had a suit fit him so well! If you ever need a suit for any occasion, we would highly recommend UK!

I had such an incredible experience ordering my custom suit through Suitablee! It is VERY rare if not impossible to find somewhere that creates custom fit suits for female bodies. I was able to mix a women’s vest and pants either a men’s blazer and I couldn’t be happier with the result!

Very nice staff, amazing customization options. Great interactive website to customize your suit. I'm just not 100% convinced of how useful the 3D scans are. But the suit came out great. 👍

I went to this store based on the rating on Google and when I arrived I was surprised that they had booked an appointment before arriving and at the reception they asked me to scan the barcode, register and wait. I waited for half an hour and no one came to me. The best thing was not to allow me to enter when they were busy.

A disappointing first—and last—in-store experience.
We’ve been loyal Suitsupply customers online for years, investing in both suits and ready-to-wear pieces. Visiting Montreal from Vancouver, we were genuinely excited to try items in person for the first time.

Instead, we were told we couldn’t try anything without an appointment—which we respected. The sales associate (a Caucasian male with a beard) assured us we could in 30 minutes, so we agreed and waited. Hours passed with no update. Five hours later, we returned to check, only to be met with a dismissive “sorry” and no attempt to resolve the situation.

For a brand we’ve supported so much, this lack of follow-through and basic courtesy was disappointing. We’ll take our business to brands that value their customers’ time and loyalty.

My experience at Suitsupply was outstanding and that’s entirely thanks to Jean-Simon. I came in looking for my wedding suit, and from the moment he stepped in to help (without me even having an appointment with him), he treated me with the kind of attention and care you’d expect from a luxury private fitting.

He immediately understood the exact vibe I was going for and found the perfect suit. Not only did he get the style spot on, he took the time to show me how to wear it in multiple ways: dressed up with a tie, more casual with an open collar, or even styled down with just the shirt and pants for a relaxed dinner. That was very thoughtful of him.

Jean-Simon was patient, warm, confident in his work, and clearly a professional. His advice was thoughtful, his taste impeccable, and he made what could have been a stressful decision feel exciting and fun. I just picked up my altered suit and it fits like it was custom-made for me.

The store itself is beautiful and their selection is next level. But honestly, it’s Jean-Simon who made me want to keep coming back. I wouldn’t want to buy a suit from anywhere else.

Also, when I came back to pick up the suit and try it on one last time, Alexandre was the one who helped me. Even though he was juggling several clients at once, he offered incredible service and made me feel welcomed and taken care of. Truly a great team.

I stopped by the shop looking for a shirt and a couple of ties, and Jean-Simon made the experience surprisingly smooth and enjoyable. Even though I wasn’t buying a full suit, he gave the same attention and care you’d expect for a bigger purchase. His taste is sharp—he helped me pick pieces that actually fit my style instead of just pushing what was trendy. The quality was clear, and I appreciated the no-pressure, knowledgeable service. Definitely someone who knows his craft and treats customers right.

Absolutely exhausted by this company. My father passed away this previous summer and I have been doing nothing but run around to try and get through this process with them. Sickening that this is how a company treats a grieving daughter. Shame on you Sunlife. Stay far far away.

Don't get insurance by them

Sun Life is the worst insurance company in the world! Their website is stuck in the 80s and is not user friendly AT ALL. It would be quite easy for them to make it user friendly, but they choose not to, probably on purpose so they don't have to issue refunds. A lot of the claims you still have to submit by regular mail. Their online chat staff is condescending, especially when you asked how to navigate their ridiculous website.

My parents died February 6th and February 14th of this year. Sunlife's head office had been trying to communicate with our "advisor" what was needed to disburse my parents' life insurance funds. They had been emailing him for a month, and he never reached out to us. Every time we called customer service, they kept telling us it was "pending;" I finally got through to someone competent this morning who revealed to me that they had been following up with the advisor. No direct extension is available either for this person - horrible service in such delicate times. Quick to take your monthly premiums, but horrible at coordinating disbursement of the money that is rightfully yours.

I love the opportunity to be able to drop off my claims directly in the Sun Life drop off box in the lobby. You actually go after hours and ring the security from the front door buzzer and they will allow you in to drop off your claim.

Also worth noting is that the picture in the Google header is incorrect. It is showing the Sun Lufe building in downtown Ottawa. They have moved from there since and are at the Preston Street location now.

I also had a bad experience with Sunnyside B&B. Apart from the poor service and uncleanness, I was charged extra fees. They charged HST and a 3% tourism fee (it’s actually not a mandatory fee). When I asked for their HST number, they didn’t have one and claimed they were not required to submit HST. That’s when I contacted Ottawa Tourism and found out they weren’t members either. Food was excellent. Good spot for those looking for seafood or pasta. We ordered tuna from the raw bar that was delicious. The warm buns and butter are a must as well. The server/bartender was very knowledgeable about the wine selection and picked out a funky wine to pair with the early part of the meal (pictured), and another for the pasta later (not pictured). Great wine selection, full bar, and a couple of nice craft beers.

I think if you want a table, it’s best to make a reservation. The prices are reasonable. A nice thing about their pasta is that they offer both small and large portions, so you can try different kinds if you’d like. All the food was delicious — even the complimentary house-made bread. The cocktails were great, and overall, the prices were fair. I would like to come back. This place is better than North Navy — better and cheaper!

We had dinner here and it was really amazing. I loved everything but my absolute favorite was the tuna small plate.

It was much more casual than I expected. I'm glad, I felt comfortable wearing my everyday clothes.

Oysters were super super fresh, my favourite was the tuna crudo- beautiful balance of acid and the puffed rice on it was chefs kiss! 👩🏽‍🍳 Eatons Mess was a lovely way to finish off the meal of the duck pasta! Portions are big! Highly recommend :)

I had a great experience at Surmesur getting my wedding suit. Ray Zhang was incredibly helpful, guiding me through every detail of the customization process. I ended up with a stylish, well-made 3-piece tuxedo that fit perfectly and got tons of compliments. Ray made sure everything worked together and helped me stay on budget. Highly recommend Surmesur and Ray for a quality custom suit!

Nasib has your back! He’s an excellent stylist with good advice for those of us that need the extra reassurance of how to style our suits! They work on commission but there’s no pressure and everyone at the store had your back. Very accommodating, but plan for 1-1.5 months between ordering and alterations. Any issues Nasib will take care of it and make sure you’re Gucci.

My brother and I both went to get custom wedding suits, and Toddrick helped us both through every single step. He really took the time to explain each of the options, the differences between fabrics, and the tailoring process. Once the order was placed, we could track the progress online, and when the order was ready, we went in for a try-on and evaluation. My brother’s suit was spot on but mine required some very slight alterations. Once those were complete the final product was perfect! Exactly what I had envisioned!

We visited Sweet Castle and tried two flavors of their pastries. Both were absolutely delicious — rich in flavor and freshly made. The quality was impressive, but the prices were on the higher side. Still, if you’re in the mood to indulge, it’s definitely worth a try!

Great selection of Arabic desserts and cakes. You can taste the quality ingredients and the wonderful mix of flavours and textures. Definitely one of the best sweet shops in Ottawa.

I used to really enjoy their cakes and even recommended them to many people, but unfortunately, I was disappointed this time. The fruit (forest) cake I bought was not good. The sponge was very dry, and the cream and fruits inside were still frozen and hadn’t thawed properly. I also don’t understand why the cake was frozen :(

The ordering process was seamless and Pryia was able to provide a cake with only one week's notice. The cake was beautiful and the strawberry buttercream was especially tasty. The cake was vanilla and it may be on me for not picking a bolder flavour, but I found it a bit bland. I have no double about Pryia's baking ability, though, and I would not hesitate to order another cake from Sweet Pearl.

There’s something extra special about baked goods from a business owner. Priya takes the time to chat with you, to explain ingredients and modify if necessary. A type of quality you just can’t find from pre-made, store bought goods. Her cookies are SO delicious and a hit with kids and adults alike. Irina made my daughter's 13th birthday cake, and can I just say WOW. When I asked for the quote, I was gearing up for a huge price tag, but to my pleasant surprise, the price was very affordable. Her ordering process was very easy. The care demonstrated by her and her husband when picking up the cake was phenomenal. The pride demonstrated in the work made me recognize the true value of my purchase, which made me even more excited to see th3 finished product. The cake was the highlight of my daughter's party. Everyone was so impressed, even the teens were fascinated (and this was not an easy accomplishment). I regret not reviewing sooner! Irina made this cake for me and my husband for our 10th anniversary she was very helpful and answered any questions I had, we ordered a red velvet cake with cream cheese icing it had a very yummy fondant layer over top of butter cream that was rich and very good she had made hand made flower because she dose not work with real/ fresh flowers hers are always hand made and edible. She has been my go to for all of my special occasions although she dose get very busy lol so make sure to contact her well in advance! She’s been so lovely and her cakes really are top of the line they’re beautiful and they taste amazing!!!

We had a great stay at this hotel. The rooms are modern and clean, the location is within walking distance to everything and the owner, Sabina is efficient and very funny!

The area can be a little sketchy with homeless people however we had no issues even when walking at night.

The location can't be beat. We were 5-15 minutes walking from everything! While my girlfriend slept in I went to three different coffee shops, walked last Parliament, and cruised back through downtown, all in under an hour

I like this hotel but it is not for everyone. Rooms are excellent, the owner is onsite and is charming. This boutique. But if you’re looking for amenities, there is no gym, bottled water, room service, cable tv, or even an elevator.

My room was very clean, bed was comfortable and bedding white, clean, and luxurious. There was ample space and a perfect desk for working.

Would I stay here again? Yes. Would I recommend, yes, but with the aforementioned caveats.

The Swiss Hotel was the perfect place for our family and friends to gather for a long weekend celebration. Stayed mid June at this lovely old hotel, so full of charm and character. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable, with nice amenities like actual glassware and even bathrobes and a curling iron. The owner Sabina personally looks after check-in and -out. Very interesting, knowledgeable lady.

I’ve always loved this spot, they have amazing jewelry and a great selection. However, I’ve recently stopped coming here because of the young Asian woman who works there. She’s constantly pushing for upgrades to more expensive chains and follows you around the store as if you’re doing something wrong, even though I’ve been a loyal customer for years.

I understand the store has been robbed before and that security is important, but with their strong security system already in place, being followed so closely feels unnecessary and frankly uncomfortable. I came here to shop and enjoy the experience, not to feel harassed or pressured into spending more. Unfortunately, until this behavior changes, I won’t be returning.
