I am super pleased with the flower arrangement I ordered online from Talisman’s. It is beautiful and exceeded my hopes and expectations. The whole process was easy and their prices are very reasonable. I placed the order Saturday night and it was delivered promptly on Monday morning as I requested. I live across the country from the recipients and was a bit concerned. No worries anymore, and now I have a “go to” florist in Kanata that I can trust.

Absolutely delicious food! We used Taraju caterers for our Diwali celebration at home and everyone found the food to be very tasty. They do a great job at estimating the amount of food needed for a specific group size, which in our case was 50. The food came to us on time as well.

Taraju Caterers was the right decision for our first catering experience of Indian food. We had food delivered for our event with 60 people. Everybody raved about the food. It was hot and fresh, and the spice level was mild as requested. They made a timely delivery, the food was packaged well, quantities were excellent, and the owner was professional and friendly. We ordered vegetarian dishes for a small gathering. The chef was very accommodating and offered helpful advice in selecting the dishes and the volume needed for the group. Everybody enjoyed the food. Veggie pakora was my favourite. Delicious food ... excellent service. ... great price. I am glad I found Taraju and I am happy to recommend them for Indian-Nepalese food in Ottawa.

I was a second shooter at a wedding recently where Tatianna was the wedding planner, and she was truly incredible to work with. As a wedding photographer, I really appreciate when a planner is not only organized but also genuinely helpful throughout the day. Tatianna coordinated a huge round of family photos seamlessly (which is no small feat!) and was amazing at cueing up speeches and keeping the order of events flowing smoothly. She was calm, professional, and always one step ahead. Her presence made the day run so much better for everyone — the couple, the vendors, and the guests. The best money we spent on our entire wedding was on Tatianna. She went above and beyond every step of the way. No other planner in Ottawa could compete with Tatianna’s pricing, organization, or personality.

Cool place to grab a quick bite after visiting the Gallery. The seating is very cool. The views are spectacular, with a great skyline and nice view of the back of parliament center building. Menu is a little small, but the digs were tasty. I recommend the Korean beef dog.

This is exactly what needs to exist in this very spot. Just having a place to chill and grab drinks right by the river and Kiweki point is so prime.

I really like that you go up and order your food and drinks rather than ording at the table. It adds to the open, almost beach-y vibe.

As other reviews have mentioned, the food isn't going to change your life, but it's decent. Same with the drinks. I would say they are all fine, and priced very reasonably, especially
given the location.
It feels like they are really striking a good balance here. $7.25 for a pint (as of 2025) is perfectly reasonable and I'm happy to see it.
I hope this never changes because this is the kind of stuff downtown needs!

A few notes: The washrooms nearby are very limited so on a busy day there can be LINES. Also I do think there is some room for improvement on some aspects of the food. And I think itnis possible that there was a blown speaker or something somewhere on the patio while we were there. But not 100% sure.

Stopped here for dinner. The setup is a little strange - you have to get in line to order food and then find a table (it’s open seating). They give you a number and bring your food to your table. If you want to order an alcoholic drink, you need to go to the bar to order (you can’t order it with your food). Hot dogs were okay, not bad but nothing special. However, the seating was comfortable, the atmosphere was relaxed and the views were great.

I really like the outdoor area here—the view is fantastic. The only issue I have with both branches of this bar is the time it takes to get food or drinks. I think this time I waited about 25 minutes just to buy a beer. It might be necessary to hire more staff. Also, if you need something and want to ask for help, you have to wait quite a while until someone from the staff passes by. Considering the large space and the number of people that come here, there definitely aren't enough staff members. However, the staff are very kind and friendly, and they even offer blankets if you feel cold. On the positive side, this location is open until 2 AM, the music was great, the weather was perfect, and I was enjoying my favorite drink and having a good time.

Spent a wonderful evening at Tavern on the hill. Great views of the river and beautiful tree to sit under.

Taylor was absolutely amazing to work with for my wedding day! From the start, she was so easygoing, professional, and had great communication throughout the whole process. You can really tell she cares deeply about her clients and takes pride in her work.

She made me feel absolutely beautiful on my wedding day—my hair was exactly what I had hoped for and held up perfectly all day. I received so many compliments! Taylor was not only incredibly talented but also so sweet and calming to be around, which made the getting-ready process even more special.

Taylor was a pleasure to work with for my summer wedding! Her calm, approachable, and professional demeanor put me at easy from the moment we were in contact. She was so responsive and easy to communicate with regarding the morning-of details and the hair math timeline that comes with booking 7+ attendants and myself! Not only did my style change from what we initially did at the trial, but I had a completely different haircut than what she first met me with - and none of it was an issue for her. Taylor helped me decide on what would be best for longevity in the July heat, and was so easy going and informative when I changed styles! Me and my girls' hair lasted all day and night and it lasted beautifully throughout all the excitement

I booked Taylor for my wedding this summer for myself, my sisters and my mother. During the pandemic, our plans changed quite a bit and she was always super attentive answering every question I had. When it came to the wedding day, she met us there with a smile (and a mask!). Taylor was punctual, friendly, reliable and fast! She worked with each of us to determine the perfect style for the day and is a VERY talented hairstylist all around. My family and I were in LOVE with how our hairstyles turned out and can't thank Taylor enough for her amazing work!

Taylor made the entire experience so flawless - from our trial in which she was flexible with the day selected to the wedding day itself and all the great and friendly conversation in between! She was professional, timely and the HAIR!! My bridesmaids and myself could not have asked for better, all of our hair stayed the entire day (and some into the next)! Cannot recommend Taylor enough. As someone who struggles with finding hair stylists (for styling and cuts) due to my curly hair, she made sure everything to the last detail was perfect until I walked out of the door!

Let me start off by saying that multiple people came to us after our wedding telling us that our wedding was hands-down the best wedding they've ever been to! And this could not have been possible without Temple's Country Weddings!

We are still beaming from the immense amount of happiness from our wedding day this past weekend at Temple's. We cannot express how absolutely perfect our wedding day was, and how incredible the service was that Temple's provided.

Throughout the planning, Moira, Sherry, and Alexandra were so attentive to every detail, providing us with dedicated attention throughout. The planning documents and templates they provided were so helpful in organizing our thoughts, and really made the process so smooth. As our wedding was planned from out of province, the Zoom calls helped a ton.

The day of the wedding went seamlessly- not once did I feel stressed or rushed. Alexandra kept us on timeline and attended to anything we needed. All of the staff that day were so welcoming and friendly.

The venue is stunning. We got married in the forest venue, and it felt like a magical forest. Every corner of the venue radiates beauty. The bride's loft and the groom's cabin were also so special. The indoor reception was made so intimate with the twinkle lights and white cloth amongst the wooden aesthetic.

We cannot forget about the delicious food! The appetizers passed around during cocktail hour, the smoky beef tenderloin for our main, and the maple dessert were perfect. The buttermilk biscuits during the appetizer course were especially to die for! The late-night poutine also hit the spot for guests after tearing it up on the dance floor!

I already wish I could relive the whole day and get married there again! We would absolutely recommend Temple's Sugar Bush!

This is a really nice place for a wedding and a reception. Nice trails for walks. This place also collects Maple sap. You can enter the building that holds a massive evaporator for boiling down the sap. Really nice people here and although I've not seen it yet. I'm told that fall trail walks and weddings are a favorite due to the changing colors on all the Maple trees.

From our initial viewing of the venue with Sherry, right up until our wedding day, everybody at Temple's was great to work with. They've thought of everything when it comes to weddings, and they're very helpful with any questions or concerns. Some examples:
- at the menu tasting they sat us with other couples near our wedding date, so if we'd wanted to share any decor or ideas it would have been easy to coordinate
- at the details meeting Amber had multiple helpful suggestions (such as helping us choose the best drink package, and what to do with the decor)
- at our rehearsal the day before Jenna went over all the big details of the ceremony, so we knew all the cues for getting down the aisle
- our ceremony was indoors because unfortunately it did rain, but Moira was driving out and looking at the storm clouds 15 minutes before the ceremony, and if it had cleared they were ready to wipe down all the wet chairs and flip everything back to outside, which I appreciated
- I also loved that they offered to donate our flowers (to a care home, I think) after the ceremony so they weren't just thrown out

The venue's also beautiful, inside and out, and the food was amazing.

Alexandra, Jenna, and the staff at Temple's truly made my wedding day magical and stress free. The attention to detail and care they showed myself, my husband, and all our guests was amazing. I would highly recommend Temples to anyone who wants a gorgeous venue and staff that truly cares about client experience. They do all the set up and take down of decorations, help you choose if you're not quite sure what you want. The whole process was made so much easier for me. Thank you!

Temple’s Sugar Bush is a stunning wedding venue with rustic charm and elegance. They have multiple locations on site that was fully accessible to us. We decided to have our ceremony in the Woodland aread, beautiful pictures in the garden and our reception indoors in the barn. It was breathtaking! From the initial planning stages to the day of the event, the staff members were attentive, responsive, and went above and beyond to meet our needs and the ones of our guests.

Sam and Felix were wonderful. Incredibly kind, welcoming and professional. They made me look and feel like a million bucks. The service was swift and the process was simple. I highly recommend getting your suit fitted here. Merci!!!

Such a cute cafe with great dessert options! The seating area inside is limited but there is a patio for when the weather is good. The strawberry cake cup was amazing and the cakes were not overly sweet which is great! The drinks were also great! It is also nice to see the store and the flowers they sell. Highly recommended!!

I recently purchased a bouquet from this flower shop for my daughter’s university graduation ceremony in Montreal. Since I was traveling from Ottawa the day before, I explained to the owner that I needed the flowers to stay fresh overnight. The bouquet was thoughtfully prepared, carefully wrapped, and included water at the base to keep the flowers hydrated during the trip.

When I first picked it up, the arrangement looked neat and well-prepared, though not particularly eye-catching. But by the next day—wow! The flowers had fully bloomed, and the bouquet looked absolutely stunning. What truly made it special were the two gorgeous peonies nestled in the arrangement. Once they opened, they immediately stood out and completely transformed the bouquet, making it unique and outstanding.

I was so impressed by the quality, freshness, and thoughtful service. Highly recommended if you're looking for flowers that truly make an impression!

It was amazing to work with That’s Amore for their DJ service at our wedding. They really understood our vision and brought it to life. We had a mixed group of French and Romanian communities. The DJ did an amazing job at making sure that they all feel included and stay on the dancefloor all night. It was really the best evening and a big part is thanks to the DJ. That's Amore Productions went above and beyond expectations when it came to planning our wedding. With COVID causing over a year of delays, Johnny put us at ease by remaining flexible, reassuring us, and updating us regularly as restrictions and recommendations changed. Our guests had an amazing time despite doing things differently in COVID times. Johnny animated the evening in English and Italian, so that all our guests could understand, and organized several fun games for everyone to play and we are still getting positive feedback from our guests almost two months later! Had a fantastic meal at Albion Rooms! I ordered the crab cakes and crudités—both were absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavour. The service was first rate—attentive without being overbearing—and the cozy atmosphere made the whole experience even better. A real gem. Would definitely recommend!

Food is delicious, so are the cocktails and wine selection. Sea scallops with barley risotto were amazing. We also appreciated that music wasn’t too loud.

Stopped by The Albion Rooms Restaurant and really enjoyed the experience. The coffee was great, and the service was warm and attentive. A nice spot to relax and would definitely come back again.

Must try ! We came for the new years menu. We were staying in the hotel and initially thought the restaurant was very small. However, there is a whole other side impecably laid out with views to the city streets. Service was smooth, and the food was to die for. On the pricier side. But it's so worth it. We also had breakfast in the morning. Fantastic food and a great iced americano. Definitely recommend.

My experience was 50% hit and 50% miss.
Had the supreme chicken and scallop risotto. The supreme chicken was excellent, highly recommend. Juicy and flavourful. But the scallops were terrible. Didn’t like the flavours and parts of the dish felt both overcooked and undercooked.

Our wedding at The Ark this past Oct 1st was truly unforgettable. The venue was perfect, exactly what we were looking for; an outdoor venue with reasonable prices, with that perfect autumn feel. Mike was absolutely stellar with the whole process, he really felt like a member of the family with all the help he provided.

Some of the extra add-ons we has were: a fire pit set up with some s'mores, photo opportunities in an antique wagon, a canoe cooler, perfect fall colours, an indoor AND an outdoor setup, and all of our guests raved that it was the best wedding ever! Thanks so much for making our big day so unforgettable!

We could not be happier to recommend the Ark as a wedding venue. The venue itself is truly a beautiful gem tucked away in nature that will surely make your day very special. However, the thing that is special about having your wedding at the Ark is the owner, Mike “The Mad Trapper” Caldwell. He will make it, “Your wedding, your way”. Mike is a super laid back and calming presence throughout the entire planning process, making sure your day rolls out the exactly the way you want it. He is great at responding to questions and provides great advice throughout the whole process. Have your wedding at the Ark, you won’t regret it!

Great people, Mike and Monique are so welcoming. Went on an ATV outing, (my first) got to drive and it was a blast. Got to visit the horses and goats too!!

Our family has been making our way to the Ark multiple times a year for about a decade. From our first snowshoe race we knew we wanted to take part in as many Mad Trapper events as possible. Our boys have practically grown up at these events! The laid back atmosphere and beautiful property are always worth the hour and a half drive. Most importantly, Mike and Monique are incredible hosts, always making sure everyone has a great time. We are looking forward to many more trips to the Ark!

I’ve dealt with Mike and Monique several times, be it their own snow shoe events, my own fundraiser (trail hike/run), or corporate events. These folks and this venue are superb! Mike is always willing to accommodate special request and Monique’s brownies (when she caters) are out of this world! I highly recommend The Ark and Mike for your fun wedding, corporate event, or to attend one of his very own Mad Trapper races.

I ordered a Biscoff cake from The Bake Stage for my boyfriend’s birthday, and honestly, I was so impressed. I had seen a design I loved on a different kind of cake and asked if it was possible to do something similar—and they totally pulled it off!

The little details made it so special—his name written nicely, cute little red hearts, and Biscoff biscuits on top. It looked so pretty, and the taste? Even better. Super moist, rich, and just the right amount of sweetness. We both loved it!

Also, the price was totally reasonable for something custom like this. You can tell they put care into both the flavor and the look. Would definitely order again—thank you, Bake Stage, for making the day extra sweet!

While there’s a glaring absence of chunks, swirls, and sprinkles in this ivory crowned jewel, there’s nothing plain about this simply stunning blueberry sugar free cheese cake. Paired with a buttery graham cracker crust, no one can deny its flavourful exquisite taste. Truly you cannot just have one bite without the wanting more. Thanks so much! I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying Baker in Pajamas treats at so many events—wedding shows, vendor community nights, and most recently, her cupcakes at a local workshop. Every single time, her desserts are a total standout! Not only are her baked goods absolutely delicious and beautifully presented, but Keerthi herself is just the kindest, most welcoming person. You can feel the love she pours into everything she makes. Highly recommend Baker in Pajamas for any event (or just because you want to treat yourself)!

Randomly came across Keerthi on Instagram and messaged her. From the moment we first started chatting, we just knew she had to be the one to make our wedding cake. Keerthi is such a kind, respectful, supportive woman and is incredibly talented. Her pricing is great, her cake flavour combinations are delicious, she makes the best bento sized sample cakes (large enough for the whole family to do the tasting with you) and is an effective communicator. We chose a two tier cake and she knocked the look and flavours of each tier out of the park. We would definitely contact her again for future events. We got our daughter’s 6th birthday cake from here. It was exactly what I had described to Keerthi. The cake was so very beautiful, elegant and tasted amazing. It was light, not too sweet and with many layers. We will definitely be getting our future cakes from here.

My husband and I had a wonderful 5-night stay at The Boston "T". Our hosts, Shelley and Serge, were very warm and welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. It was a quiet, relaxing spot in the country, yet very accessible to the 417 and to downtown Ottawa. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts, augmented by herbs and produce from Shelley's garden. Our room was spotless! We highly recommend the Boston "T" Bed & Breakfast when visiting Ottawa.

We recently spent three days here at the Boston "T", and I highly recommend it. My wife & I were warmly treated by our hosts (Serge, Shelley & Daisy). The breakfasts were excellent!!

Also, it is only about a 25 minute drive to downtown Ottawa from here so the location lends itself to someone needing to head downtown. Serge and Shelley are very knowledgeable about the surrounding area, offering helpful suggestions.

We will certainly stay here again if we're in the area.

We spent two nights in June 2023. Everything was excellent. The house is beautiful. You get to feel the country atmosphere and at the same time if needed it's not that far from Ottawa the city. Shelley and Serge are great hosts. Rooms were very cosy and comfortable. Shelley was very flexible, preparing delicious breakfast meals that took into consideration that we are following a plant based diet. Highly recommended.

I had a wonderful 2 night stay at Boston T! The breakfasts were first rate, well presented and super tasty: sausage and french toast one day and eggs bennie the other, both with fresh fruits and juice. Enough to last until dinner! The room was well appointed with a large private ensuite, and the bed was super comfortable. The guest’s sitting room is very elegant and has a large TV. Serge and Shelly are great hosts and offer a friendly face and conversation and ensure that you have everything to make your stay comfortable. It is a great place for a get-away far from the crowds of the city. Highly recommended.

We were thrilled with the Bride’s Cinema! They catered the contract to our needs and we loved the final videos, which were done in an unobtrusive, naturalistic style. Erik was well organized and captured the spirit of our wedding, sights and sounds, perfectly. We ordered this service 13 months in advance after some intensive shopping around. At first, we were attracted by relatively inexpensive coverage with two videographers on site and samples of work they have on the website. Two guys appeared on our wedding day, which took place in Ottawa Marriott hotel, were helpful and understanding of all the sentiments of the day. After receiving the video, we were very pleased with the quality and detail of work. Amazingly clear image and unforgettable experience.

My wife and I decided to take our twin girls out for a relaxed lunch at The British Pub in Aylmer, and it ended up being a wonderful experience from start to finish.

The moment we walked in, we were welcomed by a cozy, comfortable atmosphere that felt perfect for a family outing. The service was truly outstanding — warm, friendly, and attentive, making us feel like valued guests the entire time. Our server was great with the kids, too, which we really appreciated.

Our food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. Everything was perfectly cooked and full of flavour — exactly what we were hoping for. The portions were generous and reasonably priced, making this an even better value for a family lunch.

The relaxed, easygoing vibe made it a perfect spot for parents who just want to enjoy a tasty meal and spend some quality time together without any stress.

We left The British Pub feeling full, happy, and eager to come back. Definitely a great place to enjoy good food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Wonderful place and highly recommend . The pub’s food is great and the atmosphere is so nice ! Mostly we get our usual calamari, pizza and draft beer and the great Caesar cocktail. The service is excellent and we always had wonderful servers. Very attentive and nice . Definitely recommend the pub for drinks and food . We also had family staying in hotel part and where happy with the rooms and reasonable pricing .

Not travel as we are local. Only rating the restaurant. We shared chicken Nacho which was delicious, and had a couple of beers. Lovely setting out on the terrace. There was just a stench coming from one part of the terrace so we changed table.

My 3 adult daughters and I came here to celebrate a special occasion. The food in the restaurant was decent but the hotel stay was unsettling and unsatisfactory. We stayed in room 301 where the noise from the nightclub below pounded until 4 am. When we finally got to sleep, the fire escape door in the room blew wide open (during the storm) to the outside in the middle of the night which scared all of us. Safety at the hotel is an issue as the hotel section is not secure. There is no front desk and there are no locked doors to separate the bar from the hotel so any of the drunk patrons from the club could use the elevator or the stairs to access the upper floors. Finally the next morning there was no electricity so the elevator was stuck on the second floor and none of the accessibility features were working. Consequently we had to carry our luggage down 3 flights of stairs. When we reached out to discuss our concerns we were offered a discount on our next stay. You've got to be kidding...with a night like that we definitely won't be back again !

Overall great food and environment. I know it's a work place and employees want to have fun but less talking to each other and more focus on customers would be great. While getting served we got served properly. Missing choices of food. I usually hate when menus are too big. But to small is worst. Food quality is amazing. The look of the place is great. Vintage. Well insulated for the noise since main road is near the dining room. Drinks are great, lots of choice. Gave me the option of changing one thing I didn't like in my drink to accommodate me and my tastes. Tables and seats are great too. Comfortable. Cozy. Love the overall experience. Would go back occasionally.

The room was exceptionally spacious, clean, and well-equipped with full kitchen facilities. The white noise machine was a welcome addition that helped ensure a restful night. We also appreciated the delicious breakfast included in the price, as well as the complimentary bag in the breakfast room containing a bottle of water, a granola bar, and oatmeal cookies, a thoughtful touch for guests on the go.

The price is very reasonable considering the quality and amenities offered. We received an upgraded suite with a lovely balcony, and the location is ideal for exploring the city or getting to meetings with ease. The staff were friendly, professional, and attentive throughout our stay.

A very pleasant stay while visiting in town. Very adequately presented suite with everything essential and a nice selection of complimentary breakfast included. Very friendly and helpful service from the hotel staff at the lobby counter and the rest of the hospitality/cleaning staff. Well located , situated within walking distance to the main attractions near Parliament Hill. Very satisfied with my stay at The Business Inn & Suites and will be booking again here for my next trip and stay in Ottawa. Much recommended to stay at!

A good quality budget hotel located below McLarens pub. The hotel itself is pretty basic without any special amenities. However, the rooms are really large, clean, and have a full kitchen. The staff are friendly and helpful.

We chose this hôtel for its central location and we were not disappointed. The room was à small appartement with lots of équipment. We were on the quiet side (car park). The breakfast room was busy but we found space for 3 easily. There was à lot of chose and even bars to go with water, cereal bar and biscuits. Only complain was the price of the car Park, 25 CAD before tax.

Lovely place to buy cakes, cookies, cupcakes and more. This is my second stunning cake from here and it was the perfect amount of sweetness from the most beautiful icing flowers. The three layers of different flavoured cakes were delish. I had flower cookies last year that were the best I've ever tasted so was excited to buy more. The 1 less star is because of the cookies which were a disappointment this time. Pretty, but too hard to eat.

We have been getting our cakes from here for a while. It’s nut free which helps for family with not allergies. And they make gluten free cupcakes when you order in advance, which taste great! They are as moist as a regular cupcake, they are not crumbly or dry. We recently got cakes and GF cupcakes for my daughter’s birthday, they did the design exactly as my daughter wanted, and they tasted great! Good balance between the icing and cake so it’s not too sweet.

There is one dislike I have for this place, there is one lady who works there and her customer service to me is not very nice at all. I have visited twice and it happened both times with the same person. The other lady was so nice, very willing to help, I loved her customer service. The other one, I am not sure if she is the boss somehow but her attitude is not nice. It feels like you are wasting her time, she doesn't want to be bothered, even when I was talking to the nicer one, she would interrupt and takeover like I am wasting their time I must just read what the prices are. I told her they are a bit confusing for me and she kept saying, they are very clear, its easy to understand. I like their cakes but I think twice before I go there because of the customer service from one of the ladies there. The first time it happened, I ignored it and didn't bother writing a review. But now it happened again, I thought let me write something. My heart sank when I got in the second time and saw her there again. I think there is need for improvement on your customer service. Treat customers with respect, and patience. What you think is clear labels might not be clear to everyone, explain with politeness not rude or anger.

I ordered a standard daily cake with a message on top for my fiancé’s birthday 24 hours before and it was a delicious cake - it was a hit! Ordering, payment, and pickup was extremely smooth. Will definitely be ordering here for future events. Always happy to find an excellent local spot. Can’t wait to come back!
