Wedding Vendors in Ottawa

Had a wonderful celebration dinner here tonight. We ordered several smaller and one larger dish to share. We thought the presentation and flavours of the dishes were thoughtful, creative, and tasty. We really enjoyed being able to see a bit of the action of the busy kitchen and admired the chef's focus and organization in the kitchen during dinner service. Our wait staff were friendly, attentive, and very professional.

Delicious food (I had the breakfast bettered fish sandwich), fast friendly service, pleasant vibes. If you're coming before noon on weekends reservation recommended.

I brought my mom here for Mother's Day brunch. I hadn't made a reservation, but they squeezed us in, which was much appreciated. We originally went to Chesterfield's, but there was a 2-hour wait. My mother really wanted an eggs Benedict and WGP didn't disappoint! We had to wait a bit for the food, but it was a busy weekend, and the chefs were running hard (so props to them and their diligence).

Overall, the food was good. My mom had the smoked ham eggs Benedict and was complaining about just wanting bacon, but when it showed up, she absolutely loved the smoked pork it was very tasty. She also enjoyed the mushrooms and tomatoes (very british).

I had the Wellie Salad as posted with the duck confit. The duck was so wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed the layers in the salad and it was so visually appealing. Only thing I wished was it came with a side of potatoes. I didn't get the egg on top (I can't eat them - no big issue), but wasn't offered anything as a substitute. I get it, busy brunch rush. I just wish there was maybe some bread or potatoes offered with the salad. Other than that, staff were great and so was service.

I will come back again for sure.

Dinner at The Wellington Gastropub – A Disappointing Return…

The Wellington Gastropub has long been part of our regular dining rotation, a place we have come to rely on for consistently tasty, satisfying food. But after a year away, we returned tonight for a friend’s birthday celebration, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to its former charm.

We were offered a set menu for the evening due to the size of the group. Things started off on a low note with the beet salad. It was bland, the fried halloumi was dry and just generally unremarkable.

The main course, a braised beef shortrib dish I have loved in the past and often returned for, was surprisingly disappointing. The cut was overly fatty, the dish lacked sauce leaving the meat on the dry side regardless of the fat content. The pepper crust was overpowering and overshadowed everything else on the plate. Oddly enough, the confit carrots were the highlight of that dish.

That said, my partner fared better, his smoked tomato soup was tasty, with a nice depth of flavor, and his Mariposa confit duck leg was more enjoyable than the beef.

Thankfully, dessert closed things on a higher note. The sticky toffee pudding was simple, rich, and deeply satisfying. A sweet ending to an otherwise underwhelming meal.

I have had many lovely experiences here in the past, but tonight just did not measure up. I am left wondering if the The Wellie will stay in our rotation going forward.

Great spot in Westboro. We came here for a birthday, and the service was amazing. The waitress took care of us through drinks and dinner and surprised our friend with a lovely dessert. Food was unique, and flavourful.

We had our wedding at the banquet hall and it was a perfect venue for our ceremony and reception. The hall is gorgeous, beautifully maintained and had everything we needed, including tables, chairs, and linens, fully equipped kitchen for our caterers, and full bar service. It was incredible to work with Jason and his team throughout the entire process. He was so helpful and responsive, answered all of our questions and accommodated our many requests! I highly recommend the banquet hall for any event!

Went for the Medieval Masquerade! It's a beautiful place and i really loved the chandelier! The bathrooms are super fancy too! I super enjoyed it!

A good building but, be aware that parking is limited

Great venue for our wedding reception. Very accommodating and well organized.

I had an excellent weekend here, but there were some points that I got hung up on, that I'll address in the order they occured.
-My reserved parking space was taken up by a gigantic SUV from Tennessee. I parked on the street for a while, dropping off my bag, emailing the host (because there was no phone contact option) then went to visit some friends. By the time I left their place to return to my hotel, the host has replied to me and gave me a new and arguably slightly better parking space.
-The shower head, upon first use, had pretty bad pressure. It looked like most of the individual sprayers were clogged with lime. I unclogged them by hand myself, but they could stand to take better care of the shower nozzles.
-Though the room came with free wifi, no wifi password was evident anywhere in the suite. Fine, I didn't really need it, but I've been other places where its far more obvious.
-The robes and towels were of a relatively small size. I made due, but would have liked it if there was an option for anything other than a Large.
-The suite included a washing machine and several detergent pods (the kind with a chunk of powder and two colored goos) and the green goo has been extracted from each and every one. Odd.
-In addition, the dishwasher didn't have any obvious method of turning on and none of the buttons seemed to work.
All this said, I acknowledge that much of it did not actually impact my experience. The kitchen has as well stocked, the complementary coffee was delicious, and I was never anything but extremely comfortable. While I hope my concerns are seen and addressed, for the price, the convenience and the comfort, I'd stay here again happily.

Great place for a quick responsable priced sandwich in the downtown core. I got the western sandwich. It was pretty standard quality wise. The staff are friendly. There are also a couple tables there if you want to dine-in.

My only criticism was that the toast was burnt. Otherwise everything was decent. The person next in line got the breakfast plate and that looked really good! Would want to try that next time!

Spent around $11 for a sandwich + drink

UPDATE 2 YEARS LATER: still amazing. Marissa, Nabil and the rest of the staff are 10/10. They have always gone above and beyond. I love working with them and encourage other colleagues to order from them when we have to cater. Also the cookies are still amazing!

Have made orders here for work on many occasions. They have always been excellent with ordering communications and the woman who delivers to our site is wonderful. We typically order their sandwich/salad combos for lunch and personnel always comment on how good they are. Protip: order extra cookies as 1 is never enough.

The only complaint I have about this place is that it's not easy to see, even when you're standing outside the building. If you walk into the main foyer you might spot the sandwich board sign telling you to go to the 2nd floor, or you could ask the person at the information desk. It's worth the effort, though. The person who served us and made our sandwiches was super nice, the food was tasty, and the prices were very reasonable. We were there around 10:30am on a week day so it was very quiet as well. Dining area was clean plus there are views of the street. I had the breakfast BLT and it was excellent.

Enjoyable sandwich. Friendly staff. A little hard to find. You've got to go into the building and up the staircase.

I’ve officially been a loyal White Beauty Space girly for over a year now and guys let me tell you this place is IT. If you’re looking for nails that could get pinned on a Pinterest board a hundred times over this is the place to go.

I’ve done a few different designs with Top Master Katya and every single set is done with so much attention to detail. The cuticle prep alone deserves an award because they stay perfect the whole time. My latest set is the burgundy one pictured below but last fall I had the burgundy with cherries which was literally my all time favourite and that one literally lasted me for two months and it was still flawless. That’s how amazing they are here.

The staff and the atmosphere are just as incredible as the nails. Everyone is so welcoming and professional and it makes every appointment something I look forward to. Truly a 10/10 experience every time. 🫶🙂‍↕️

My experience was awesome. My nail tech Annie did amazing, and very professional job. I had manicure with red cat eye and it’s the prettiest thing ever. Best manicure I’ve ever had. Service was really sweet and atmosphere welcoming. If I ever come back to Ottawa, this will be the place I get my nails done.

Marianna is a true professional! Her work is always top quality , neat, beautiful, and done with great attention to detail. She’s incredibly friendly and creates such a warm atmosphere. She even bring me blanket, when i was cold 🫶🏻🥹Thanks to masters like her, I want to keep coming back to this salon again and again!

Amazing, attentive service! Hands down the best nails I’ve gotten here in Ottawa. Katya was thorough and the manicure was super clean. Annie did an amazing job with the hand paint on design on my nails. Margaret was very warm and friendly in the checkout process. I love that they use gel. I can’t say thank you enough! Coming from out of town, I found White Satin through a Google search and knew I had to make the trip! I love how easy it was to see so many of their dress options online and on Pinterest - this made me a lot more prepared and excited for my appointment. I was unfortunately disappointed with my experience at White Satin Bridal. I tried on three dresses before the stylist told me they didn’t have what I was looking for. While I appreciated the honesty, I feel it could have been delivered in a gentler way. The vibe felt a bit off, and I left disappointed, especially since my bridesmaids and mother had come a long way to join me.

The boutique itself is beautiful, and I’m sure many brides will find their dream dress here, but in my case I felt like I was wasting their time. This was just my experience, and I wish it had gone differently.

My initial motivation for wedding dress shopping at White Satin Boutique was to support Asian-owned businesses. As fate would have it, it was also the only store in Ottawa that carried dresses by Jenny Yoo, a Korean-American designer. I truly hit the jackpot when I found my dress there in July 2023. The selection of Jenny Yoo gowns was stunning, with so many options that it felt like one of those “can’t go wrong” situations. Dominique, the bridal stylist, was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. She took the time to understand my style and vision for the big day, addressing my hesitations and providing guidance without any pressure. She is so impressively good at her job in fact that I would argue she knows THE dress for you, even before you know it yourself.

Once my dress arrived in March, I returned to the boutique for a series of minor alterations, all while enjoying the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Shannan was also a pleasure to work with—her friendly, positive nature made every visit enjoyable. Siu, the expert seamstress, helped to ensure my dress fit perfectly and was comfortable enough to dance the night away without worry. I have and continue to receive countless compliments on my gown, and couldn’t have been happier with my choice. I wholeheartedly recommend White Satin Boutique for anyone looking for an exceptional bridal experience!

Wicked Wanda’s is a key staple in downtown Ottawa. Owned by a Mother Daughter duo both women are exceptionally talented and knowledgable in all aspects of any question you may have. Located in the beautiful historical building of Barrymores original entrance. With stunningly high ceilings, beautiful art work inside and great quality products you will soon love your shopping time. Also with awesome staff it’s a must see shop. Travellers from all over come here for an unforgettable time. You just never know what kind of events they are also holding or workshops that are happening. I always have a great time shopping here.

Highly recommend this store! Customer service is stellar - employees are so knowledgeable and create a space that is safe, comfortable and fun for customers. They have great products and workshops as well, and are committed to supporting the community in providing sex-positive education that is catered to individual preferences and goals. I really enjoy their pop-up events; they are varied, showcase lots of local artists and businesses, and are so much fun... great excuse to go get the items you want in a fun and animated environment.

Went in today and got this super cute and reasonably priced rave fan! Personally I think the quality is better than the KandisWorld fans. Perfect for the festival season!!

I highly recommend this plant shop. I’ve been a loyal customer for years. I often gift bouquets to friends and family from WW and they are always perfect. I am an air plant collector and it all started because of WW’s. It’s very rare I find air plants ive never seen, so when WW’s posted about a new and unique shipment this past week, I was so excited. I went yesterday and the selection was better than I could have imagined. I had fun spending time looking at all of the air plants and making tough decisions about what to bring home. October 2024 - we were a big group of friends from Ottawa who hoped to have a Thanksgiving themed goodbye party for a friend who was leaving the country. We contacted Winchester Catering and Events and they provided us with an excellent dinner for 18!

Everyone at the goodbye party provided positive feedback and were thrilled with the food! It really was a huge highlight to make things special on the weekend!

Winchester catered our buffet wedding. The food was amazing! Everyone loved it! The ladies who served water and made sure the food was set out and hot plates were clean were also amazing! Four stars instead of five as we had a bit of difficulty communicating about our chosen menu and cutlery (Winchester communicated our cutlery etc needs to Chez Lili for a fee which was nice however a bit confusing at times). Overall we are happy with the food and services on the day of our event, the lead up to could have been a smidge better communication wise.

Winchester Catering always does a great job!! Lucky to have attended several events there!!

This is an awesome hotel. The room was spotless. The bed and bedding were beyond comfortable. The bar served great wine and food. There were safe and easy access sidewalks and grassy areas for walking my small dog after a long car ride. It was conveniently located and easy to get to and from Highway 417. It will be my go-to stay in Kanata.

The hotel is great, but has some areas of improvement:

Great:
1. It has a great staff who are polite, kind, and are helpful
2. The breakfast was probably the best I've ever had in a hotel.
3. The gym is modern and had all the equipment that I would usually use at GoodLife.
4. It has a pool, always good to have a pool for the kiddos

Improvements:
1. In my room (214) the air conditioner was particularly loud. I'm not sure if it is the same for every room, but for my room it was so loud it would wake up my kids and wife every time it would shift on.
2. When we arrived the bathroom sink was clogged, fortunately the staff lent me a plunger and I got that sink draining again. It might be wise to check the faucets once in a while, but I'm sure it was only in my room that this may have this problem.

Overall the stay was great, the breakfast was unbelievable, and it is worth another stay if we went again

We had some issues with our card at check in and the hotel staff were kind and accommodating while we sorted it out.
The room was clean and modern. The pool and hot tub were clean and a great template (even had towels available)
The included breakfast had a good variety of hot fresh foods.
The outlets were a 5 minute walk away and a great addition!

Rooms were clean, washrooms looks great. Area is very beautiful around. Have a premium outlet just at 4 minutes walk. It have a lot of good restaurants in the vicinity of the Hotel.

The hot tub wasn't working while I was there, which was unfortunate, but besides that it was a special place. Great layout too. The people there make it great. Blessings!

This was the best experience from start to finish. I was nervous going in to dress shopping, but Marissa made the whole experience so lovely and fun. I felt so prioritized and safe trying on dresses. She really made me feel like what I wanted was the most important thing. My dress was the first one I tried on. I had found it through their online pinterest boards. I was still able to try on many other options, but I went back to the first one. I went back here a few months later to buy a veil and found one that was so beautiful. Truly an amazing experience overall, the women here run an amazing business!

The team at Renewed with Love were very patient and helpful in helping me find my dress. I had a very specific idea of what I wanted and admittedly it was very rare find. They were very thorough and even outside of my size range to show me something that matched the description. Surprisingly they had exactly what I was looking for and it fit! I cannot express how much my experience at WLR was more amazing than I anticipated it to be! I already had so much anxiety going into the process. From start to finish, this was by far the best experience and I couldn't of been more happy, having and enjoying every minute. Sydney was my consultation and by far the best, she was not afraid to get up close and personal and made the experience so comfortable and fun for me. Had an amazing experience at Renewed with love tonight (feb 18 2025). You walk in and the store is light and airy and full of beautiful gowns. Grace was my consultant. She was welcoming right from the beginning and super nice. All of her picks were amazing and each one was better than the last until we found the dress! She was professional and knowledgeable but also funny and kept up great conversation. With dress she pulled it was like she knew exactly what I was thinking and we found a dress that was under budget! We would 100% recommend renewed with love to everyone.

I had the best wedding dress shopping experience I could have asked for; all thanks to my consultant Marissa! She presented me with options within and around my budget, and felt more like a friend than a salesperson. Where other bridal consultants have laughed in my face upon hearing my modest budget, Marissa pulled something stunning off the rack. The store itself is also just really beautiful. 10/10

After a much anticipated and exciting upgrade to my front main speakers, it was a pleasure to deal with Antonio with my purchase. He was very prompt in replying to any questions or concerns I had and provided me with excellent service.

Great service. My speakers were repaired quickly and at an excellent price point. Now they sound better than ever. Everything was explained clearly before the repair on what was the issue. As a courtesy, they even fixed the damage to the wood frame of my left speaker, that had been nicked and was unsightly, and now it looks brand new. I highly recommend them!

We brought our stereo system to Capital Sound last year and got it back fully repaired within days. Recently when we tried using the CD player the system failed. Capital Sound took the equipment back, tested and found we had messed up the speaker cables, provided us with advice and new cables free of charge. Super, conscientious and friendly service.

Antonio was amazing. Super nice guy and so helpful. I bought some banana plugs for my speaker cables and while he made virtually no profit from my small purchase he spent a lot of his own free time to make sure my system was correctly set up. I heartily recommend Capital Sound for your next purchase.

They are working on an issue with Apple Pay charging the price in US dollars. It seems they are working on a new website soon to be released. Antonio reached out to me very promptly to discuss about it with great attitude and enthusiasm. Very nice guy who seems to care.

Very friendly staff! Had a birthday party for my son, him and his friends had a blast. We rented a party room with pizza and juice and they were very organized no complaints on service! My only complaint (kind of a big one) I that it was ""extremely"" expensive for what we got, over 500$ for 1 hour of jump time and Only 45 minutes in the party room which felt a bit rushed...to eat 2 domino's pizza's and 3 jugs of no name powdered chemical juice that was pure sugar..! We had to supply our own cake

We hosted one of my son's birthday parties here, and everything was well-organized from start to finish. The online booking process was seamless, and I received a confirmation email a week beforehand. On the day of the party, we arrived a bit early, and the boys started getting a bit rowdy. The staff noticed this and kindly allowed them to start jumping ahead of schedule—great proactive thinking! During the jump session, one of the boys twisted his ankle. The staff immediately came over, checked on him, and promptly got ice for him, which we really appreciated. Once the jump session ended, the staff efficiently coordinated serving the food. Although the price is a bit on the higher side, they’re transparent about the costs upfront, so there were no surprises. Overall, both parents and kids had a fantastic experience!

This place is so expensive to host a birthday. They charge an automatic gratuity. I’m glad I noticed because I was going to tip but chose not to. There was no assistance from the customer service. We fed the kids and cleaned up ourselves. 40 minutes in the party room and 20 min for the staff to clean up between parties is insane. Carts all over the hallways and kids touching and grabbing gifts from other carts? How is this ok? We had to tell a few kids to get away from our cart and not touch our stuff. It was a zoo. There should be somewhere secure to put these items. It was packed with people and the music was not kid friendly. It’s unfortunate there are not many other places to go in the area and families are stuck going here. For the money spent you’re better off going to flying squirrel or a community center where you rent your own bouncy castles. They over charge for everything and it’s very unnecessary considering how much it costs to host a party. I will not be attending again.

We attended a party this evening and although the kids had a great time the company policies put a sour taste in my mouth. A few of the kids don’t eat pizza so the host brought them some Doritos. One of the workers told her that you are not allowed to bring outside food yet they sell Doritos there so that’s probably why. It was definitely not bc of allergies. It was clearly a money grab. They ended up charging the host $10 simply bc she brought Doritos. I mean that’s pretty ridiculous considering the cost of attending this place. You won’t let a bag of Doritos slide after paying almost $800 for a party. This is so wrong. I won’t ever come back to this place simply bc of this poor policy. I understand a platter or pizza not being allowed but a bag of chips. Come on.
