This summer, I purchased a wedding suit from Sam, and I have to say, I was extremely impressed with the quality and craftsmanship. The suit was a beautiful light grey color and made from a luxurious material that felt soft and comfortable against my skin throughout the whole warm summer day.

Sue is absolutely wonderful, she did an amazing job altering my wedding gown, she was able to do what quite a few other tailors couldn't do or refused to do... (bringing the hem up, taking the back out and replacing the zip back wit, adjusting the straps, pinning down the frills and adding the bustle) plus helping me get it dry cleaned within 24h of the day! She did it in a very timely manner and even did my maid of honors dress, all very affordable comparatively to other places we went. I will definitely be coming back here for alterations big or small. Sue knows what she's doing and will advise against things that won't, however she provides solutions in lieu :) thanks again!

My bridesmaid dress was dirty when I picked it up, over priced - $95 for hemming a single layer dress and inconvenient appointment times (business hours do not mean anything, you must call for appointments and pickup/drop off of your items). Definitely would not recommend to my friends or family for the work completed. STAY AWAY.

I had been searching for weeks for a tailor who would be able to replace the vegan leather sleeves on my favourite jacket, as they had begun to bubble up in spots.

Time and again, the tailors I visited with sais it was not possible, or that I would have to use real leather and pay an extraordinary amount.

Luckily, I came across Sue's Tailoring, and without hesitation she said she would be able to do the job - and for less than half of what I was quoted elsewhere. She put so much care and effort into sourcing the right material for the sleeves, and did a flawless job on sewing them. My jacket is better than new and I could not be more thrilled.

I cannot express how grateful I am to have found this fabulous tailor, and whole-heartedly recommend her to anyone looking to have quality work done.

Sue is incredibly talented, knowledgeable, and kind. She was able to fix a broken zipper on my costume the day of needing it! I will be recommending her to all my friends and family. You can’t go wrong choosing her services!

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE -
Absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had at a clothing store – and it happened right before my wedding.

I honestly can’t believe this is how a suit shop – especially one handling formal wear for such an important event – treats its customers. JOHNSON’s (MANAGER) attitude was incredibly unprofessional and dismissive, and his team clearly lacked coordination and basic customer service skills.

We came in to pick up a tuxedo package and were shocked at how disorganized and understaffed the place was. It took over an hour just to get started because the assistant was too busy juggling other customers.

When we finally got to the last step, the advisor simply walked away to help someone else – without a word. After waiting another 20 minutes, we politely asked for assistance again, and his response was basically, “I’m busy.” No apology, no explanation.

We then asked for the manager, Johnson, hoping to get some proper help. That made things even worse. Instead of addressing the issue, he became defensive and argumentative. He flat-out refused to assign another advisor, even though we had been waiting nearly 90 minutes at that point. His solution? He told us we were “welcome to walk out if we didn’t like it.”
I would strongly advise anyone planning for a wedding or important event to avoid this place at all costs. The stress and frustration they caused at such a special time were unacceptable.

Dealt with Adam, he has been amazing from start to finish, truly a professional in fashion and suits. Veteran of his craft, was able to pick color, size and style instantly and on first guess. Suits supply was able to accommodate all of our deadlines and provide the tailoring within a quick and professional time. Super happy with the service and quality will definitely be back!

Christopher is the best. While salespeople often make me feel pressure or uncomfortable - Christopher is the opposite. He's relaxed, competent and generous. In 30 minutes he helped me finish my outfit and had great input/ideas. His attention to detail and general level of competence is very high. With him I feel that I'm in good hands. I will be back!

I recently rented a tuxedo for myself and my son for my son’s confirmation. Tony was amazing! Extremely knowledgeable and made the whole process painless. Tony even swapped my sons dress shirt on the morning of the event as my son had spilt his drink on the shirt. We called and Tony was more than accommodating and went out of his way to get my son a replacement shirt. In the end the suits looked amazing and I can’t say enough about how positive the whole experience was. Thank you Tony!

I went to Umberto's after I was disappointed with the outcomes from another tailor and Claudio was able to turn around an incredible suit for my wedding in under 4 weeks. The suits are handmade from scratch in the city so they have a lot of control over delivery timelines. The tailoring process was pleasant and he is clearly very knowledgable about suit styles, easily the best tailor in Calgary.

After being frustrated with poor service from other tailors, I found Umberto’s. I can say from experience, Umberto’s is the real deal. Claudio helped me select the perfect fabric, cut, and style for my suit. It looks amazing! Plus, he was was able to deliver my suit ahead of schedule. Umberto’s customer service is top notch!

I have been going to Umberto's for 5 years and still have the suit they made for my wedding. In total I have invested in 8 custom suits. The quality and craftsmanship is second to none. I have tried the online retailers and they don't come close the quality that Umberto's is able to provide. An often over looked benefit of having the suit made locally is the ability to make adjustments and have them serviced over time. I have had several of the suits adjusted to update styles and adjust jackets and pants as I have lost weight.

Umberto and Claudio are true artisans and gentlemen. It is a pleasure to shop at Umberto's Custom Tailors. I encourage anyone looking for a new suit to start here. They make incredible suits for both men and women. The prices are extremely reasonable and the quality is unmatched. Today, when my friend and I passed by the Vivid Beige window display, my attention was immediately drawn to this dress. I was looking for an evening gown to wear to an event. The shop assistant kindly introduced me to many different styles, and I finally chose this red dress. The fabric is very comfortable, and the design is unique. I really like it, and I hope to visit often in the future.

My daughter and I visited the store for a mother of the bride dress and Judy provided us with the best experience! Her knowledge of the style of dresses she’s showed us, matched the theme of my daughter’s wedding. I was recently on the hunt for a dress to wear to a holiday party. After going to several malls and stores I stumbled on to this fantastic hidden gem of a store. Judy is fantastic. She can take one look at your body shape and make recommendations on outfits that would look fabulous on you. Every single thing she brought to the change room fit me perfectly. I went in for one holiday dress and came out with three different outfits for work. It would have been more but I had run out of time! I am so glad I discovered this amazing store.

I was shopping for a Mother of the Bride dress and getting discouraged until we found Vivid Beige. Judy gave us amazing service, the selection of dresses was the best we had seen anywhere in the city and the prices were competitive to other shops, maybe even better for the designer collection she had. After striking out at so many other stores, i found this one and I was so happy. Judy was absolutely amazing. I was looking for a dress for a wedding that was black tie optional, and she provided so many amazing choices. She got me to try dresses that i never normally would have, and i absolutely loved them. As once she figured out what i liked, she brought me other options (i now have 2 dresses for wedding, a little black dress (which you always need) and a killer jumpsuit. Thank you, Judy! I love this place. Absolutely love it. I know nothing about formal menswear, but this is not a shop, it is a shrine erected to the memory of its founder, run by a family of pleasant, courteous next generations in a place that is less like a store and more like a kaleidoscope of all things classy and refined. There’s a coffee and a snack counter rivaling any upscale coffee shop, attended to by no other than the charming M Waxman himself, there are electric guitars, there’s an unused but impeccably kept and maintained barbershop, a hard to spot statue of a harlequin to remind us to not take it all too seriously, and walls adorned by black-and-white family pictures, suspending you between togetherness and nostalgia. And somewhere hidden from view is the enigmatic Suzie… who has been taken care of shirts and tuxedos for decades.

I only have two tuxedos, both bought from here, their beauty and quality matching unforgettable experience off dressing room between antique commodes, and the rotary telephone to make you feel, for a little while, like a true gentleman.

Experience at this bridal shop was a 13/10!!! Highly recommend this boutique to any bride to be. Katrina was so caring and personable. I'm writing this review to share my disappointing experience at this bridal shop. From the start, the service was a letdown. My stylist, Lauryn, was unwelcoming and didn't seem interested in helping.

A significant issue was the strict policy around trying on dresses. I was charged a fee, which was unexpected and frustrating, especially since the overall experience was so poor. The selection of dresses was also quite small.

During the appointment, I was not allowed to use the larger, more helpful mirror on the other side of the room. This forced me to rely on my friend's phone camera to get any sense of how the dresses looked on me. For such a significant purchase, it was incredibly difficult to make a decision without a proper view.

Overall, the combination of an unfriendly stylist, a limited collection, and a restrictive, inconvenient try-on process made this the worst bridal shop experience I had.

Got fitted and ordered my suit, told me it would be ready in 3 weeks. Pushed back 1 week then got a call to come in. I come in to get my suit and they didn't even order it. Crazy experience, not worth it at all

If zero were a review I’d give it. Ordered a suit for my son’s prom 3 weeks ago. Told it would take a couple of weeks. Come the day after they told us it would in ( a week later than original). Get to store no suit. Won’t be in for another 4 days. Prom in 5. Now scrambling to buy a new suit. DO NOT SHOP HERE.

Great shop with amazing and very unique pieces! Nikki is absolutely wonderful and has an amazing eye for some rare gems. I've been shopping at her store both online and in person for a few years and there is always a selection of amazing things that she's found! She is also THE spot to go to if you are looking for vintage leather or other jackets!

Nikki has a gift for sourcing really awesome vintage pieces but I’d avoid purchasing them from her online.

It used to be one of my favourite bars in Montreal but last night's experience completely ruined it for me. We waited in line for about an hour to get in and this time we were presented with a menu upon sitting down.

The drinks that we got off the menu was absolutely horrible and came out of a can that was sold to us for 14 dollars each. The specialty of this bar was having no menus and the bar tender making the drinks for you according to your preference.

Anyways when leaving the bar I mentioned this fact to the people standing outside in line that not to order anything off the menu and do the classic style of asking the bar tender what you like. However the owner of the bar happened to be right there when I said this and took it too personally.

He started off by insulting me that I should not say this to customers and that I have no right to voice my option this way. He went off for another minute insulting my taste buds, culture and so on. I was so shocked at his behaviour that I was speechless. All I could say was 'okay'. I have never been treated this badly in Montreal and for sure I am never coming back here. All this after after spending 140 dollars at this establishment.

Victor made my husband a suit and it was such a month process . The quality of the product is above was we expected and we are so so happy with the result .

Elegant and sleek experience. Welcomed at opening hours we were the only patrons for our first drink which made it feel like a private visit. The mixologist was incrediblely friendly, knowledgeable, and made our drinks to suit what my boyfriend and I were craving.

We came upon this little men tailor boutique on a stroll upon town! We were so impressed with the service and quality of the products! My husband has very hard time finding clothing. With his unique physique, off the rack is a nightmare and never looks as sharp as we would like! It has been a little over a year we have been coming here for the personalized service and the higher quality of custom pieces! Every season Sasha, Victor and Louis showcase us, the up and coming unique pieces of the season. This is and will remain our only place to dress my husband. They eye of details is exceptional and we received endless of compliments on his entire. If you are looking for something different , away from the big box store and over pushing sales reps, this is the place you should go! I promised you will not be disappointed! Love you guys! ❤️

Man of Distinct Scam.

I left thousands of dollars worth of high-end products with them and got back pennies on the dollar. To make it worse, they claim my Burberry items might have been donated. Really? Burberry not good enough for your shelves? Need I say more.

I had a deeply disappointing and frustrating experience with Man of Distinction. I brought in several high-quality items to consign, only to be told they couldn’t take them and would instead donate them to charity. I trusted their word, assuming my items were being given to those in need.

Fast forward a few weeks, I walked into the store only to find my items being sold on the floor. This is an outrageous display of dishonesty and shady business practices. Not only was I misled, but they turned a profit on items I was assured would be donated.

If you’re considering consigning your items here, think twice. Their integrity is highly questionable, and I would advise others to avoid doing business with them unless you’re comfortable with being misled and taken advantage of.

Wonderful men’s consignment store in Calgary. Well organize and a great selection of clothes at incredible markdown prices. Shoes, pants, shirts, dress shirts, suits…. This store has it all.

Laura was absolutely fantastic. Purchased a shawl for a dress I brought in. She steamed the dress for us at no charge . This meant so much to me as had no idea where I would go to get this long dress steamed. Thank you for going the extra mile and for your kindness!

I walked into Melanie Lyne, bought a dress, brought it home to try on. Manager Laura Hayashi sold me the dress without explaining the return policy. I sent my husband to the store 24 hours later, dress still had tags on it. Manager Laura stated that “ my store does not offer refunds, the balance would be put on gift card only. Laura did not explain this to me at time of purchase. Completely terrible and unexceptable. Will never shop there again! Beware!

I walked in the store to buy a shawl and a sales person walked towards me, and helped me. The service she provided was excellent and very quick. Melanie Lyne carrie beautiful and quality clothes. I am petite every time I go to Carlingwood Shopping Centre, I stopped in Melanie Lyne Store with the hope I will see clothes for Petite. May be one day it will happen. Had a return for one of my items from online shopping, received a gift card for its value. Tried on several items and chose a blouse for partial value of the card. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

I bought a really expensive piece and wanted to order a new one. The staff guaranteed that I will be getting a brand new piece but to my dismay they wrapped the same piece and gave it to after a week saying this was brand new. I was able to recognise by the way the tag was folded on one side. I know you guys guys are in for business but also ethics is something when you're dealing with people. Will never return to the store. Be cautious y'all.

Having been fortunate enough to get to know Jeremy as both a friend and a professional over the last few years, it was a no brainer for me when it came to selecting who would put together my wedding weekend outfits - Mr. W. Jeremy and his team crafted an absolutely beautiful tuxedo, with matching pants and black pants (for future versatility), white tuxedo shirt with monogrammed initials, and sharp blazer. I wore the blazer at the rehearsal dinner and opted for the full tux on the big day. I recently utilized the tuxedo jacket with black pants at a black-tie gala this spring as well. Jeremy goes beyond typical bespoke tailoring, providing expert sartorial advice for formal and casual wear.
