I recently had an amazing experience at Magpie Jewelry, and I can't recommend this store enough! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by their stunning collection of unique pieces, many of which are locally made.

What really made my visit special was the incredibly helpful, patient, and knowledgeable staff. They took the time to understand my style and preferences, offering thoughtful suggestions without any pressure. I ended up buying a gorgeous dainty necklace, and I’m absolutely in love!

Dropped by on Saturday to see Nora and Aislinn to have some jewellery cleaned to wear for a special dinner last night. Such wonderful service! The store looked beautiful. Lots of gorgeous new and exciting jewellery to gaze at while I waited for the ultra sonic and the staff to work some magic😃. Thank you Magpie!

This company is very unorganised. Bank street come off kind and soft spoken however nothing gets done and everyone is deer in headlights they don’t communicate and it’s as if manager is some big shot that can’t be bothered talking to you about issue.
The issues never get resolved. Brush you off like you’re trash.

If you want a gift or piece for a specific date make sure you order a month+ ahead of time!!!! The time date they provide is false, no follow up either to allow you to know you’re going to attend empty handed with no gift. Or no piece for that special occasion.
You will also have run after them to get things done.

I understand one bad review won’t mean anything… and will be laughed off. So take it as you will.

I had an amazing experience custom designing an engagement ring with Magpie. I’m about 5 hours away from Ottawa but Rebehka and team were so easy to communicate with, understanding of my concerns, and very flexible with my requests. They had the ring delivered by courier and it arrived incredibly quickly. Overall, the experience was unforgettable and my new fiancé is very very happy!!! Thank you Magpie!

I have shopped at magpie for years and always get the most unique pieces that I love! Recently I got a few permanent bracelets from magpie and can’t say enough good things about them. Marlow & Kat are amazing to work with! They helped Landon and I create my dream ring, and we actually ended up with an even better ring for a lower price compared to other places we looked at. The quality and craftsmanship are outstanding, and the service was great from start to finish. We couldn’t be happier and highly recommend them!

It was such a great experience designing the engagement ring with Kat and helpful to have her creativity and expertise bringing it to life. She really listened and offered thoughtful insights during the design process (ie. Angling certain features so they would catch less). Great service, ring came before the estimated time frame, and it cost less than we had initially budgeted for to boot. Wow, what a wonderful experience the staff at Marlow treated us to! We bought our engagement and wedding rings separately and as a first-time jewlery buyer, I thought Marlow and Kat were very fair with their pricing, more than reasonable answering my metal and gem-related questions, and helped quite a lot to build the engagement ring my wife described. What we got was exactly what we expected, and then some.

I recently ordered a beautiful pair of Trinity Geometric Earrings from the Marlow Design Collection and I am anticipating to pick them up! I was browsing and seen a pair in their showcase at their studio and fell in love! Most of my jewellery is more on the costume side, so it’s very special that these studs are classy and at a price point I could afford. Our experience with Polar Lab Diamonds and Heni was definitely worth the 3 hour drive from Edmonton. This is my surprise proposal to my fiancé now, she and every helicopter crew was stunned when I got on my one knee and ask her to marry me. I did propose before heading to see the majestic waterfalls in Canada, the Niagara Falls. The ring is awesome especially 2 carat diamond, awesome craftsmanship. We got the best price, super customizable options and lots of little extras (e.g. mock ring free of charge while other places charge a few hundred). Jeff and his team are amazing! My husband went to Premier Gems to get my engagement ring made, Jeff helped take his vision and bring it to life. I had a custom engagement ring designed with Premier Gems and I would highly recommend them! From start to finish Erin was easy to work with and worked with me to stay within my provided budget. I was given multiple options for the center stone and allowed to handle each before making a final decision. Most of the process was done through email and Erin was always quick to reply whenever I had a question or concern. She also kept me up to date throughout the entire process with photos of sketches, renderings and models. The final product was perfect and my fiance simply loves it! The gentleman Salvatore who owns the business is a great friendly guy from Italy has a big heart. I recommend to visit him for jewelry work. He is 50 years of experience in the jewelry industry. This shop itself is 20 years old. That’s an amazing accomplishment.

Salvatore has been my family’s jeweller for years. He has made my custom rings for every milestone - birth, confirmation, university grad, and most recently my engagement. He’s fixed every piece of jewelry I’ve broken over the years, and the quality of every piece I’ve purchased is top notch. I’ve had one of my rings since I was a baby, and 27 years later he’s never had to warranty anything. I’ve never had a loose stone, or anything break off of something he has created. The quality of his work speaks for itself. On top of that, he is a wonderful and kind person, and you can tell he pours his heart and soul into every piece he creates. You won’t regret trusting Salvatore with your important milestones or pieces.

EDIT: saveria (sorry if i spelled your name wrong!) reached out and met with me to address the concerns and personally fixed everything - it’s shiny, even, mark-less, close to the original, and so beautiful! she even put it in a nice box for me, and they did not charge extra for bringing it back. i am leaving the country and she ensured it would be done quickly and ready before i left so i could wear it!! i added 3 pics with the update. i truly believe they stand behind their work and i am so so happy looking at my pendant now. thank you!!

i have a very sentimental pendant that i wanted to replace the part it hangs on with real gold rather than copper. i asked if he can make it exactly like before, but with real gold. he said he can do it and it will take around a month.

i also had a bent ring that he made round again right then and there for no charge. 5 stars for this

after over a month had passed with no word, i called asking for an update and they said it was ready! but they never called or left a message letting me know this

the service for the pendant was a reasonable price. the flower design is pretty and i didn’t mind the slight change, however i didn’t notice until i got home just how uneven the rest of the necklace is. the upper part above the flower is lopsided to the left, so when it hangs you can see most of the backside poking out on the right. those black lines are not shadows, but permanently on there, i think they are solder lines? the backside doesn’t really have them and sadly looks better than the front. however the inner side also has some lines. i would not have minded if these lines were only on the back, but they are at the most visible areas. lastly, i realized that the jumpring at the very top is a flat oval shape, not round and circular like my before. the longer jumpring makes the necklace sit lower and looks too long making it less dainty than before. again i asked to make it as close as possible to how it originally was and he said he can do it

i understand it is handmade so there may be some imperfections which i would not mind, but these just make it look messy not custom 😔 i wish i would have noticed in the shop before i paid, i do appreciate that they let you inspect the item before you say ok and pay, but now i fear it may be too late without paying more :(

overall salvatore is very kind and talkative, setting reasonable prices, but i am disappointed with the lack of attention to detail. i hope this can be rectified and if so i will update my review as i want to give 5 stars if i can!

Went in there today to get my engagement ring prongs tightened as it became loose. Called to asked if it’s possible to just walk in and get it check. Very accommodating and kind people. I highly recommend! Would definitely come back if I have any troubles with my jewelries!

Oscar designed my best friend's beautiful custom engagement ring, so I always imagined one day he would design mine. We brought him a good challenge -- heirloom diamonds from both sides of our families in old rings, my dream of a non-traditional stone, and a limited budget. He sourced the sapphire and used the hexagon shape to lay the foundation the most beautiful vintage-inspired custom ring I could ever have imagined. Adding details including milgrain, he went above and beyond what we expected. Working with him was such a pleasure and we already miss walking down to his shop in Marda Loop to visit and check out the progress. It’s been almost two months since I received my new ring from Troy Shoppe Jewellers and I’m in love. I can’t stop looking at my hand, admiring the beauty and the brilliance of my new treasure. First of all, lovely designs and original creations. What truly sets this store apart is the customer service. I received these earrings as a gift and love them. One day I was about to put them on and dropped one. I was heartbroken to see it shatter. I reached out to the store and spoke with them about a repair or replacement.

The person who bought these went to the store with the broken earring expecting to leave it so they could assess whether it could repaired. Imagine our surprise when they handed us a brand new earring. I was so grateful to have been given a new earring to replace the broken one.

Very bad service bought a gold bracelet from them but within 10 days of purchase it got dents in it and when I went to shop to show him. Then he didn’t deal in a good manner he was rude and didn’t know how to talk to customer and retain them. Overall experience bad . UPDATE:
As you pointed out, the issue with the lobster clasp was not due to mishandling or pulling. In fact, you showed me several similar repairs from other customer which suggest a design flaw. Therefore I truly do not see the relevance to compare this to a car dent.

I don’t mind paying for a repair when warranted. However:
1. This chain was purchased less than 2 years ago (not relevant to compare to a car but yes, my car will be repaired for any defects as it had a warranty period). I’ve had a chain that needed to be repaired 3 times so you can understand my frustration having to return again, this time another piece purchased at your store.
2. You discreetly wrote the repair cost on the paper without informing me of the cost. That lack of transparency doesn’t reflect well on your business.
3. We were never advised that the chain required blow drying after showers to dry the humidity and ensure that it doesn’t break. If such maintenance is required, would be crucial to inform your customers, especially for jewelry that will be worn regularly.

You’ve been our go-to jewellery store for over 20 years for my entire family, siblings, parents, grandparents etc. so it’s very unfortunate that this happened.

Purchased my necklace here and had to be repaired 3 times. Just took my husbands chain (paid over $1000) in because it broke and he’s trying to charge me to repair it showing me all of the other repairs that need to be done for other customers. If you have that many repairs on your jewelry then I think you have a bigger problem. Do not buy from here!

I came to this store to have my watch serviced. They were extremely open and honest about what needed to be done. They gave me a fair estimate, and when I received it the charged me 100 less. These guys are that honest! Extremely fair. My watch is now running at around 1 sec a day which is crazy for a watch from the 80s. I have absolute confidence in this shop.
Also, the gentleman in charge of watches gave me a tour of his collection which was an added bonus.

If you’re looking for a legit place to sell your gold, go straight to Canada Gold. This place is the opposite of professional!! No weighing, no ID check, no paperwork, just pressure tactics and sketchy behavior. The man first offered me less, then suddenly changed his price, and after pretending to count out the cash, re-tested my bracelet multiple times before claiming it wasn’t real. I immediately went to Canada Gold and was paid $1,100 for the exact same bracelet. Save yourself the time and frustration, avoid this place at all costs.
