Fantastic place for electrical stuff like wiring boxes, breakers etc. 1/3 to 1/2 of H.D. Prices. Mom and pop type store with great service and prices. LED lights are CSA approved. I found this place when shopping around for better pricing than the post Covid price gouging that seems to be in full swing at the big box stores.

The room was spotless clean, modern and spacious, fully equipped kitchen..bed sheets and pillows smells so fresh..i love it. I was surprised It has an in suite laundry. Great location. Safe and convenient parking. This will be now our go-to hotel for its excellent amenities, location and service. We really enjoyed our stay.

Excellent location and value as compared to the other hotels nearby. We stayed in a two room suite and were happy to have access to a washer and dryer as well as kitchen. The location is close walking distance to many local attractions as well as the train station. It was easy to get here from the airport using transit. The room was clean and had daily maid service. The front desk staff were always very courteous and helpful. The only downsides were the slow elevators. The pool was always very busy but we did not use it much. Would highly recommend and would stay here again.

Great amenities! The suites are essentially little apartments! Full-size kitchen with fridge and dishwasher, laundry in unit! Nice, fresh, modern, very clean. The hotel pool is small but enjoyable. Ample parking in the garage (for a fee). It was awesome to have the parking be valid until 11pm on checkout day, so we could check out of the hotel but keep exploring the city.

Very nice hotel. Porter messed up my flights and sent me here for night. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and most have porches overlooking the city. It was a ways from the airport but since it’s right in downtown it’s close to nearly everything except the airport. My only complaint is that they didn’t have free breakfast.

We had a great stay here. We stayed in a group and went to Bluesfest. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel really just did all the things that I wish other hotels would do. Early check in was an easy and inexpensive upgrade, and late check out was available too and she didn't charge us. The front desk staff were super easy going about it. The rooms were really nice and had everything we needed. Little things like full sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner, wine glasses, closet space with hangers in each room, full fridge, microwave, a convenient entry bench, lots of seating. A lovely staff member dropped off a box of chocolates for us! The location was also amazing, we walked everywhere. Parking was fine it was $33. My only suggestions to make this an all around amazing stay would be a coffee station in the lobby. We will try to stay here every time we visit downtown Ottawa, highly recommend.

I wanted a custom designed ring for my mother. I discussed my ideas with them and they exceeded my expectation!! They were so kind and patient. They explained everything to me from start to finish of the process. Great customer service.

I read many comments saying that they were pricey but worth it, I have to say they were right! I had my engagement and wedding band resized after giving birth. Yes it was pricey (white gold rings) but I'm truly happy with their work. I can't even tell where they added some gold and they came back polished and shining like the day I got them. Very friendly staff as well.

I love taking my wife here to pamper her with jewelry. Every time I take her here she loves it. They have so many beautiful pieces that you can't find in other jewelry stores. The customer service is also great.

We booked a limo for a friend’s birthday party, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish! The limo was spotless, spacious, and had all the amenities we needed to keep the party going. Our driver was professional, friendly, and made sure we had a smooth and fun ride all night.

Limo was late.
once they were 15 mins late I had called to confirm. No one answered the phone from my phone number which the reservation was under. He did answer from another phone number. Took 4 phone calls to confirm the limo pick up. The limo did show up 1.5 hours late to bring kids to a concert. Once the limo showed up, the limo driver told me he was double booked for the same time. He showed me the text of the double booking. The driver was great. I was pretty disappointed that this limo company didn't reach out to me afterwards. I have followed up with the company and I go no response.

Do not use! We booked this service for our wedding. When the limo showed up it was smoking and my husband could not take it. We had to arrange our own rides to our wedding. We have been trying to get a hold of them for 6 months to get our money back and they refuse to speak to us. Everytime we call the employee says we have to call back at another day and time. These phone calls have been going on for 6 months. We lost $650 and were late to our own wedding.

Had a terrific experience with Gord and Carolyn. They were very fast to respond, walked me through all the details of the process, answered all my questions, and got me a great policy. Nothing beats the human touch they provide, and I would 100% recommend them for life insurance and any other financial advisory services they provide!

Anglos beware! I was in this store on Monday looking for a table runner. I attempted to ask Helene in French, but did not know the words for table runner, so she pointed at them and looked at me with disgust. Helene is older and probably beyond retirement years. It is obvious that she is miserable, especially working with Anglo customers. Anglos, go to the Ottawa location. They will be much nicer.

Terrible Experience – Unacceptable Service!
I placed an order weeks ago, and it still hasn’t arrived. I’ve reached out multiple times, but I’ve received no clear answers or updates about my order’s status. It’s incredibly frustrating, and I feel like I've been completely ignored. This feels like a scam – I wouldn’t trust them with my business again.

Returned a product. We don't get a gift card we got a receipt with the amount and an expiry date. Which they explicitly stated that they don't keep a copy of.

Anti-consumer and exploiting a loophole in Canadian law so they can keep your money. Hoping your flimsy piece of paper IOU is destroyed or lost or you forget about it.

One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. Showed up to pick up an online order and it wasn’t busy. Gave them the order number and it took them thirty minutes before I simply gave up and asked for a refund. It was not a staffing issue since there were four people milling about not doing much of anything. While I asked for a refund, I didn’t end up getting one (because it was an online order). So on top of not getting my product, I didn’t get reimbursed, had to wait half an hour and the person working there showed zero interest in resolving the problem. Meanwhile my husband waited in the car with three crying kids because an extremely basic item pickup (ALREADY PAID FOR) could not be completed due to utter incompetence. Massive avoid. Won’t be shopping at Linen Chest again and will now have to deal with the *wonderful* online reimbursement process during work hours thanks to the in store incompetence. No thanks.

Staff were helpful when asked but quite enthusiastic that everything in the store is on sale and superb quality. Four staff noticeable in the store, one at the cash but had to be called to provide service. Probably had other duties. Long wait at the cash, one customer took more than 30 minutes! No other staff came to help at the cash. Too long to wait, not worth the purchase.

The Saint Laurent store lacks good customer service. On September 9, 2025, I went to this store to shop and was very disappointed on their service. The cashiers were mostly away leaving customers waiting endlessly at the counter. The cashiers’ attitudes were terrible looking annoyed because they were called to the front counter to help customers at checkout. My question is how can management leave this type of staff to provide customer service! Unfriendly and apathetic staff!!

Just toured the new store. Staff is very friendly and attentive. I find it is like a smaller version of Bed Bath and Beyond yet they have a much bigger store in the west end near IKEA. I’m not sure why they picked this location when there is The Bay in the mall.
I’m giving 5 stars for opening during the pandemic.

Purchased 2 lamps online and had delivered. 1 came damaged and had missing parts. Tried resolving thru online client service without success. Went directly to store instead. This is where 5 star review was earned. I was greeted by Alexa and Sneha who were very pleasant, professional and kind to deal with. They resolved issue by processing an exchange. They went above and beyond to help and apologized for my having to replace a product. Trey from stock room also deserves a shout out for ensuring my replacement was in good condition and no parts missing. A huge thanks to these 3 for restoring my faith in client service. Well done and keep up the great work!!!!!

Completely vegan bakery offering some (all?) gluten free baked goods. We got the hostess cookie and my partner liked it but I found it was too sweet.

This place ended up being a little gem that featured some of our favourite desserts. It didn't look like you could go wrong with any of the desserts here but I went with the cream egg cookie sandwich and it blew my socks off.

It was huge and delicious. The service here was fantastic. Prices were on the higher side but they're pretty gourmet treats here.

Highly recommend checking it out if you're in this area.

Tried the ham and cheese pesto sandwich today and OMG is it good! Best sandwich I've had in the city for sure. Everything was so fresh tasting. It was huge and a good price. I love that the staff still take covid precautions

I booked a stay at LIV Extended Stay through Booking.com and was extremely disappointed. What was not disclosed in the listing is that there is ongoing construction right at the property. Starting from 7:00 AM every morning, loud drilling and machinery made it impossible to sleep or relax.

This stay was nothing like what was promised online, and it felt very misleading that such important information was not mentioned. If you’re looking for peace, rest, or even the ability to work from your room, this is not the place to stay.

I would not recommend this property until the construction is fully completed and guests are properly informed.

We booked here because we needed two separate bedrooms for an adult family. The bedroom off the living room - the door did not shut completely and had opaque panels, so if someone was in the lounge, the bedroom was noisy and lit up.

It was booked for 3, but we were not supplied 3 towels or coffee pods, we had to go and ask for them. They were happily provided, but could be part of the cleaning process.

For a two bedroom unit, it would be good to have the toilet separate from the shower.

Several coffee cups were broken, the electric plug beside the oven did not work, and we could not watch TV on the TV.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The sky deck was stunning. Great location. The Quickie store close by was handy.

Reception and check in was fast.

I paid extra for an “executive suite plus den”. The rooftop hot tubs are right above us and so we hear a crash every time someone gets out. I had asked for a lower floor when we checked in but they only offered a room at 3x the price on the first floor, or rooms with one bedroom with defeats the whole purpose of renting an apartment.

The hall smells like cannabis and the room we were given is right by the elevator and stairs so it is very loud each time someone comes out. The air conditioning is only in the living room, so my choice is to keep the room door closed and sweat so I don’t hear the hallway as much, or to put up with the noise to be cool. There was only one drinking glass in the cupboard in the kitchen and not even an ice cube tray in the freezer.

Update: After calling the front desk at 11pm and asking about the crashing above my room the noise finally stopped at 12:30am. And then I was woken up again at 6:45am by crashing and banging. I went upstairs to find someone working with chemicals in the maintenance room for the hot tubs that is directly above my bed and I asked him to stop making a racket.

Stayed on the hotel side for two days, the room was clean and inviting. Staff were friendly but disorganized. During the first hour of staying, we came back to find the gate broken. It wouldn’t open. I asked at the front desk where I should park or when it would be fixed and they weren’t sure. I went down later and the solution was just leaving the gate open. Over the next few days I saw countless cars going in and out with no pass, so I was surprised to still see they charged me parking on my invoice. I don’t think it would be fair to charge when it was suppose to be secure and it wasn’t. I had inquired about a laundry card and was told it was a $10 charge. I was ok with paying that as I was in a rush. I asked at checkout about if I get a refund for the card if I give it back. After a bit of back and forth I found out I should have never been charged for it at all. The employee said that the other employee that helped me is new and must have got confused. It was a nice kitchen, however the few dishes and utensils were old/dirty or damaged. No toaster like mentioned there would be. It was a last minute booking as I had to come to Ottawa for a family emergency but for $440 I’ll shop around next time.

We booked this room 5 months in advanced, when we got there we were upgraded to a “better” room. This room was a spare room which hadn’t been booked out in 3 months according to the repair man who had to come fix our AC unit. It was the hottest day so far of 2025 reaching 42 degrees C with the humidity outside and we had a broken AC unit for the first 48 hours of our stay. On top of that the tv didn’t work as it was installed onto the wall not even plugged in. It wasn’t until we went back 8 times to complain about the AC not working when they finally hired an HVAC technician to come look, which didn’t fix the problem the AC would shut off after 4 hours. We would then have to turn it back on. In the middle of the night it was terrible our room reached 29 degrees.

We had no privacy as the staff were constantly coming in to see about the air conditioner and TV problems also having the HVAC tech In our room caused us to have no privacy.

I would never stay at this facility again. I had an absolutely horrible experience.

Great little spot for live music! It’s a small venue, but the sound quality was surprisingly good, and you can see the band up close—no bad seats in the house. Perfect for an intimate concert experience.

Awesome spot for grabbing a beer and watching the monthly Kino films. Wall artwork as you walk up the stairs is super cool and groovy. Has a room to the left when you get to the second floor with seats so you can chill with your friends, and a bar to the right, with the main area straight ahead that has the stage. Not sure if they have Jameson’s or not, if they don’t they should. They probably do. Not sure about food. Anyways the only reason I give it 4 and not 5 stars is there was one of the first few times I went that the server did not give good service and really seemed upset/angry to be there so that kinda soured an otherwise good night. I haven’t seen her since though so maybe she is happier doing something else now. Will update after some more visits, 5 stars is not out of the question if further visits are good and the staff continue to have good service and energy.

This is an awesome live music club that supports local talent. It is located right above Zak's Diner, so there is always an option to order food!! Service is fantastic. Ear plugs are available on-site for a very small fee. As it is located on the upper floor, there are stairs. No elevator on site. #local guide

I’ve been to LIVE! on Elgin for a few different events and try to make it there at least once a month. It’s a versatile space ideal for concerts and dance parties. If you’re looking for a fun night out, tasty cocktails and a great space, check them out. They also have a party room which adds a nice little element to the space!

They throw a mean dance party, and it's a great little spot for live music too. There's always something affordable happening, a new local band to check out, a fun cocktail to try. I keep an eye on their instagram for whatever is coming up!

I have a slightly different experience here as well. Was looking for a job about 15 years ago and the owner was tapping me for my Casino inside knowledge. I needed a job and this person was trying to get trade secrets with no firm job offer. Hope this person no longer works or owns this place. So unprofessional. They got nothing from me....either pay me for my knowledge or no dice.

Now as my experience in the store...well...no welcome and hardly any customer service. The place was a bit dirty...(and this might sound funny for a lighting store)...but the place seemed a bit 'shady'. (damn I am funny)

We went in and found a fan that we liked that has the fan and a light on it. Then when we decided to take it, them came to us saying that the scu on the light was not right and didn't include the light. They then wanted to charge me an extra 149$. Total rip-off. Don't shop here.

Update, we looked online for same fan and found it for 150 less and it includes the light. What a rip-off. Never going there again.

You mention that the sale doesn't include the light but the price on wall never stated that. That is wrong and you should abide by that.

We had such a lovely experience at this family run restaurant. Make sure you make a reservation in advance as it fills up quickly and the space is small. The food was amazing and we were able to mix and match 4 different meats in our platter for 2. The service was excellent and all staff were so friendly. Highly recommend for a unique experience and exceptional food.

Wonderful experience all around! Went with coworkers on a Friday night. The service was excellent. Super lovely staff who made us feel welcome. We ordered drinks, Kamayan Feast, a couple of vegan friendly dishes for some & desserts. So flavourful and everything was well presented. Definitely coming back with family. 10/10 recommend!!

We were originally customers of Kim's and Lola's Kitchen in 2021 during covid, when he was cooking from his home kitchen and doing delivery across Ottawa. We have ordered take out since, but tonight we had a chance to check out the restaurant with some wonderful friends and company. We ordered some tropical drinks, kwek kwek street food eggs, and the kamayan BBQ platters that you eat with your hands, and we absolutely loved it! What a wonderful experience, tasty cocktails and truly delicious food! ❤️🥹

Lola’s is a must-try hidden gem in Ottawa. Docked one star for the very tiny dining area (make a reso), but even then, the small size lends itself to the quaint, family-style atmosphere. The serving staff were incredibly kind and helpful. They offered suggestions for food and drink orders and explained dishes and sauces as they were delivered to our table. And of course, the food is absolutely delicious! Everything was fresh and beautifully marinated and cooked. I recommend getting the platters, which can be for 2 or 4 (or more) and are actually the best value-for-money option. They’re also served on banana leaves and you can choose to eat with your hands or using cutlery (or both). I would definitely go back.

The BBQ chicken was hands down the best I've ever had, and the spring rolls were incredible. You can really tell everything is homemade with great attention to detail. The presentation was stunning, with beautiful edible decorations and perfect plating.

Excellent company to work with! I used Lolacher's for my wedding in December 2024 and they were amazing. We got so many compliments on the food, it was delicious! We had the chicken supreme and a custom lamb shank which were both excellent. The servers were efficient and friendly. I booked Lolacher's Catering for my wedding this past weekend. I started planning my wedding in April 2024, so I know I was already late to the wedding planning game. They were absolutely amazing. Their customer service skills prior to the wedding day were impeccable! I changed my menu so many times and every time they resent me updated contracts and let me know what options were available. Elsa was amazing at accommodating various allergies.

When the caterers arrived they made sure everything was ready and served promptly. Everything was hot and prepped perfectly. They were amazing to us throughout their time with us. When they were done, they picked everything up and cleaned the entire area. I really can't expressed how impressed and grateful I was to their service. Everything went to smoothly and I could not have been happier.

We've used Lolacher's before and each time, their service and quality of the food is amazing. We had a catered condo Christmas event yesterday and everything exceeded expectations. The "Savoury Sausage Rolls" and the "Sweet BBQ Meatballs" were the best I've ever tried. Other popular items were the "Scallops wrapped in bacon", the "Smoked Salmon", and the "Crab Salad on Cucumber rounds". We will definitely go with them again.

Our entire experience with Long from day one has been outstanding. He came highly recommended to us by a friend and after watching many of his amazing videos (outstanding "Hollywood" quality films), we knew we wanted him as our videographer. Due to covid, we met over Zoom for the first time and we hit it off right away. You could tell based on the questions that he asked and his extensive questionnaire document that Long genuinely wanted to get to know both my husband and I and learn who we really are and what we enjoy. He even followed us both on Instagram and kept in touch with us regularly. He has really turned out to be a great friend. On the day of the wedding, he and his second shooter, Kelvin were AMAZING in every way. Almost all of our wedding guests commented on how professional and thorough they were.

Long came to the room where my bridesmaids and I were getting ready and he worked professionally and meticulously alongside our photographer. When it was time to go to our "first look" location (which he had recommended to us - and it was PERFECT!) he actually drove myself and my bridesmaids to the location. He basically stopped traffic in the Byward Market just so we could safely get into his vehicle... which was a bit of a struggle in a wedding dress! During the ceremony and the reception, Long and Kelvin were never in the way of guests blocking their view, and they got some truly fabulous shots that we will cherish forever. Long had such great ideas for the video and all we had to do was have fun and enjoy the day.

We just received our wedding video this week and I can't even begin to explain how fantastic it is. It perfectly represents Scott and I as a couple in so many ways. From the music he chose, to the shots he used, to just the overall vibe of the video, he hit the nail on the head and truly created the perfect memory from our most special day. First of all, I would ABSOLUTELY recommend LongN Media to anyone looking for wedding videography or any form of video needs. LongN Media is incredibly talented and his attention to detail is stunning - to say the least!

A piece of advice we learned: do not underestimate the value of a wedding videographer! At first, we were a little apprehensive about spending the money to secure a videographer for the wedding. Midway through 2019, my husband and I had started thinking about and plan our wedding details for a Summer 2020 wedding and one of the items on the 'Wish-List' was a wedding video for our special day. After much research and many discussions amongst ourselves and with friends who have gotten married, we put our trust in LongNMedia, from Ottawa, to capture and forever encase our wedding day in the form of a wedding video.

I myself am a photographer in the wedding industry here in Ottawa Ontario Canada, and on occasion, had worked in tandem with LongN Media. It was for this reason, when it came time to peruse the options for a videographer, I made it a point to highlight LongN Media for my husband. I knew Long from LongN Media was a talented videographer, but it wasn't until I saw the wedding video he created for us that I knew he was an amazing videographer!

From the get-go, it was clear LongNMedia was highly dedicated to his craft and when we finally received the finalized wedding video we were enamoured by his work. Looking back on it now, we realize the synergy that is created by both photography and videography in the context of an incredibly special moment like a Wedding.

Great hotel. Charming and classic. Had our wedding ceremony here and the team were great. The newly renovated Trillium room provided the perfect back drop. I stayed for 2 nights at the end of August to celebrate my graduation. I requested a bathtub before check in and was given a complimentary upgrade to a Executive King suite, which was amazing. I'm adding a photo of the tub cuz it's so hard to find a recent review with a photo.

While neither night was totally perfect (a false fire alarm and I was somehow assigned the room above the ballroom which was having a loud wedding reception), the stay was otherwise without incident from check in to check out. Guest services people were efficient and apologetic for the issues. Room service personnel were nice, but Forty One is very overpriced for the quality of food they offer. I live in the city so I know how amazingly accessible (in terms of facilities, not mobility) the location is. And I got a corner room, so I had a nice view.

I was prepared to give them a lower rating the previous night because of the noise, but honestly they were very generous in their compensation, I had a free upgrade and appreciated the prompt response to my request. I was upset at the time, but I checked out very happy. Recommended.

Edit: One thing I've realized from reading the other guest reviews is all that's truly missing from the grandeur of this hotel is that "go the extra mile" training that should be given to service personnel. While some personnel were very good, some seemed to need training to smile with their eyes. I can't personally say much about the cleaning since I only stayed 2 nights, but upon check in I did notice some discrepancies.

We stayed as a Family during Labour day weekend. Good receptionist. Valet parking is good. They even checked us in early as room was ready. The best part is Location. Prime spot. Everything is walkable and you can fee the vibe in the morning and night as well. The size of the bed is less than queen size. Thats why I have to give 4. Otherwise all good. Bit pricey. But its prime location helped us to cover all places in Ottawa.

Rooms: we had kind size bed room, plenty of space and very comfy mattress. It was very quiet at night and so good for sleep. However, the bed sheet smells a little bit much bleach, and the room air smells moldy when we entered but it got better after we turned on the AC. At night, AC vent was blowing air into my head when I was sleeping.

Service: overall we had very good service, but one thing to improve is about LE internal commutation. We booked Fri/Sat 2 nights and we were ready to pay for 2 nights parking when we checked in. The first evening Fri evening when I asked for my car and told the valet parking staff (Blvd) that I would come back on Sat noon, he told me he would let the front desk know and only charge me for one night parking. When I checked out on Sunday morning, the front desk Karina doesn’t seem to receive the message, took a while to figure it out and asked me more questions why I only parked for one night. As I mentioned, we were ready to pay for 2 nights parking so in the end, we paid for 2 nights to save all the unnecessary back and forth commutation. Hope the internal communication to make customers experience better.

Location: 5 star out of 5! So downtown and walking distance to basically everywhere in Downtown ottawa.
