The venue was breathtaking, the staff were warm, so helpful and attentive. All our guests were so impressed by this place!

I had the serenity package therefore the staff were setting up the venue with the decorations and I couldn`t be more pleased with their work. Every element came together with care and intention and they truly succeeded putting my vision to life. They made the place elegant, warm and timeless.

We hosted our wedding at Oak & Pines and honestly it was the easiest decision of the wedding planning. This family owned business, close to Orleans, is absolutely stunning. The barn (main reception area) is rustic yet modern. The large grounds allow for many beautiful background for photos.

During our first visit in 2023, we were told there would be lots of renovation in the coming year. They did not disappoint. The addition of the sunshade ceremony space is absolutely amazing. Allowing guest to still be outside while still being covered by the elements. Although we had initially booked this venue due to the forest ceremony space, once we saw the sunshade it was an easy switch (also allowed us to have a DJ during the ceremony). The renovations of the inside were also beautiful.

They answered my endless emails quickly and thoroughly. They even went above and beyond and contacted one of my vendor directly so that everything would be set up correctly. Overall, we highly recommend this hidden gem.

Oak and Pines was the perfect venue for our wedding! The setting was absolutely breathtaking — every corner felt magical and created the most beautiful backdrop for our day. The team was amazing to work with from start to finish: organized, helpful, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything ran smoothly. I hosted my baby shower at Oak & Pines and had an amazing experience! The venue was beautiful, and the team was incredibly easy to work with; friendly, accommodating, and super professional. Absolute garbage!! I needed a new copy of a name change document so I called in, was given information and did as directed. I uploaded my letter, payment etc. and was told it would take 6-8 weeks. That was July of 2024.
February 2025, I contacted them and am told it's in progress and should be issued, and sent to me within a week. It wasn't.
July of 2025, I again contacted then and I'm told, "oh, it's in progress. It took a while for them to find your original information...they'll send it off to you within a week."
I finally received the document (september 2025) and the former name is wrong. I cannot understand why, when the records state One name and my letter stated one name that they decide to issue the document in a completely different name. So now, because of course, there's no easy rectifying of this situation, I now have to upload another letter explaining the error, a scanned copy of this incorrect name change cert AND proof of my original name. I am so very disappointed by this service. Now I'm left to wait again.

HIRE MORE PEOPLE!!!!No document should take almost 2 months for just a review that’s ridiculous. I’ve been waiting for a birth certificate after delayed registration and they haven’t even updated the system yet. I desperately need my daughter’s birth certificate as I have a sick family member abroad and they say it’s not an urgent reason so it can’t be rushed. I keep calling and getting the same answers. A birth certificate is needed for travel it should never take this long. I will escalate things further if need be.

i sent in an application for delayed registration of birth because i need my sons birth certificate. They take 2 months and then send it back saying i didn’t do the application right and each time i fix the mistakes they pointed out and mail the application out again, they send it back with new information that they didn’t mention on the previous time they mailed it back. they never once mentioned i had to send in a photocopy of my birth certificate and now after sending it for the 5th time, they mail it back and say to attach that when they could’ve mentioned that the first 5 times i mailed it to them. it’s been over a year and i’ve had to continue doing this just so i can get my sons birth certificate because they don’t know how to do their job and tell someone everything they need to do at one time so i don’t need to waste my time and continue doing it over and over again. pathetic

Got married on January 23 and was told the certificate would arrive in 6–7 weeks. Called after a month and was told it’s actually 10 weeks. It’s now been 3 months and still nothing.

Other provinces like Manitoba issue certificates in just a week. This is unacceptable,hire more staff and speed up the process. People shouldn’t have to chase basic documents for months .Terrible experience.

My application for name change was delivered March 1st and after almost 16 weeks, they have done nothing. They have’t even reviewed the application to confirm if it is complete. When you call, you hear the same nonsense. There is no supervisor/manager to escalate the matter.

Sue made a delicious and beautiful wedding cake for our daughter who was married at the NAC last Friday. She is friendly, very easy to work with, and her creative flair is outstanding. We can’t recommend her enough!

Sue came to our rescue when our original cake vendor fell through, and we’re so glad she did. She stepped in on short notice and created a cake that was not only gorgeous but absolutely delicious. The price was also absolutely fair.

Every interaction was clear, kind, and thoughtful—she was generous with her time and incredibly helpful, even making sure the cake was safely packed for transport in our already stuffed car. In the middle of a whirlwind weekend, she made this part of it completely stress-free. And the price was incredibly fair for the quality, talent, and service she provided. Cannot recommend her enough.

We ordered an animal-themed chocolate fudge birthday cake with white chocolate buttercream and raspberry filling for my daughter’s birthday, and it was absolutely amazing! The cake was rich, moist, and perfectly balanced with the creamy buttercream and tangy raspberry filling. The animal decorations were adorable and so well done—my daughter was thrilled! The kids loved it, devouring every bite and talking about it non-stop. It truly made the party special. Can’t wait to order again for our next celebration—highly recommend!

This was the perfect setting for our perfect wedding reception. The hall fit our 130 party with lots of room for dancing and a buffet line. It was easy to work with the hall organizers. Thanks for a great hall.

I got my balayage done by Yazan and honestly, I couldn’t be happier! He really took the time to listen to what I wanted and made sure I felt comfortable every step of the way. I have textured, dark hair and it’s always been tough finding someone who actually knows how to work with it properly—but Yazan absolutely nailed it.

This was my first time ever dyeing my hair and I also have a pretty sensitive scalp, so I was nervous going in. But Yazan was super thoughtful and made sure to use a treatment that wouldn’t damage my hair. The whole experience was way better than I expected.

After living in Ottawa for 9 years, I’ve never found a hairstylist I fully trust—until now. Highly recommend him if you’re looking for someone skilled, kind, and attentive.

Looking for a new hairstylist? I highly recommend Maryam. I am in my 40’s and was looking to blend my grey hair with previous blonde balayage/root melt. I had been doing my own roots and they were not pretty. Had different colours going on. Maryam listened to my concerns and gave me the advice I had always wanted from a hairstylist. This first visit is not the final look but the base. Looking forward to my next appointments and see how she blends my natural colour with greys. Thank you Maryam! Laura is truly a master of hair! As someone who prefers low-maintenance hair, I really appreciate how her technique allows me to have my dream blonde hair grow out seamlessly and still look great for months. The entire staff at Ombel are warm and welcoming, and you can always count on great chats while you’re there. So yesterday was my third appointment with Amanda, every time she sees what I’m envisioning for the cut and nails EXACTLY what I want! I also need to add that I’m a general very shy and anxious person and Amanda always makes me feel so comfortable. I would recommend Amanda to anyone, especially if you enjoy a more creative cut because she totally nails them.

This was my first time at this salon and I can only say great things! Front desk was very nice and welcoming. Dawna did a great job on my haircut. I showed her a reference photo of what I wanted and she exceeded the expectation. She was great at listening to what I wanted and gave her own input which I appreciated. I will definitely be coming back!

I have visited this studio many times and have become quite fond of not only the services but the ambiance and enviroment.
I have always had my high fade to a proper coif in front done by the AMAZING Sarah and have always left this studio totally expecting the papparazzi to leap out and start snapping pictures of my movie star like appearance every few weeks, which they do not but I am always ready for em when leaving On Edge Studio :)

Had the most amazing experience at OnEdge. From start to finish, the team went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and cared for. Robin was absolutely incredible, so patient with my hair. She worked wonders on my curls, gave me a beautiful balayage with subtle highlights, and a perfect haircut.

The attention to detail was impeccable, especially when it came to carefully brushing and handling my hair. The finger coiling we chose instead of a blow-dry was truly the cherry on top. Mcurls have never looked so defined and gorgeous!

The atmosphere in the salon was so warm and festive. The owner even had a tray full of delicious food to share with everyone, which added such a personal touch to the experience.

I had the pleasure of working alongside some of your team at the Ottawa Cancer Foundation breakfast yesterday. When I arrived, they were working on the sound check and as the photographer for this event I was concerned about the lack of stage lighting. I asked one of your guys if there would be any additional stage lighting, and he responded with "no, but there could be". He went down to his car and came back with lighting. Doing this helped me deliver the best images I could, but MORE importantly, it greatly improved the viewing experience for everyone attending, ensuring the speakers were well-lit.
As an event photographer, I have worked with many AV companies, and I have never had someone respond to my suggestion/request with regards to lighting. My motto is "if you don't look good, I don't look good" and your team made us ALL look good yesterday. Well done!

Above & Beyond 5 Star Services for Glow Fair. As an event company our-self specializing in silent discos, we work with hundreds of companies worldwide. We had the pleasure of working with Ottawa Special Events for the production / logistics to put on a massive two night Silent Disco party selling out of 1,400 people. This is an event that has many moving parts with several activations hourly. To pull this off successful means they could do any size event.

We were most impressed with their work ethic and how each staff member not only took their task to the upmost importance, but it was clear they cared about taking responsibility for the entire event.

Excellent experience booking a limo to take the bride and groom home after their wedding. Vic was professional, courteous, and very punctual. We will definitely be using their services again!

Whoever was operating the limousine this Wednesday morning in the Tim Hortons drive-thru, through water bottles and garbage out on the ground instead of putting them in a garbage can. That's not a good look.

One of the best rides I had. Used the service for transportation to the airport in Montreal. They were very cordial, and they made me feel the luxury they are advertising! Highly recommend.

Facilities were great and economical: backyard patio, parking (extra cost but reasonable), and bicycle cage. Everything was clean and lovely. Kitchen was clean. Bed was a bit too soft, however. Vibe of the people is one of exploration and adventure. I got to bike the Ottawa bike trail to Hogs Dam and see many other major sites because of the house's great location. Very awesome for a traveller with an adventurous mindset. A+.

Such a cozy and welcoming place, feeling look like a home! The hostel even has its own little gallery — I left here a painting I made myself, first time in life, because place make a safety feel 🎨. In the common room on the ground floor there’s plenty to do: game console, TV, synthesizer, chess, library. The kitchen is great for meeting people from all over the world 🌍. There’s also a lovely veranda with a view over the city center and the main castle 🏰. Super friendly staff, beds with charging ports, and bathrooms and kitchen are always stocked with all the essentials. The atmosphere is just amazing!

Lovely setup and a comforting and homey interior. The staff were incredibly helpful and I felt facility wise this hostel has everything you can expect for the price. The rooms were cosy and had AC but my only critique would be there was no storage for me on a top bunk (I ended up sleeping with water bottle, book etc in my bed) nor any cupboards for me on the ground

Hotels like this one feel so much more warm and personal compared to all the other corporate options. I was in and out for a night but it was a solid place to crash and also central to the collection of venues for the Ottawa Animation Festival. I would come back next year for sure

The owners are amazing people, beds are what you pay for. It's a hostel and so you share rooms or pay for your privacy. The kitchen is fully equipped. During the summer there's plenty to do outside or bbq in the backyard. So many good memories in this place. I'm grateful for the time I shared with everyone I've ever met here. Best stay ever.

We rented the 6ft propane spit to have a pig roast, it was great. They were very accommodating with time to pick up, and to drop off.. very reasonable price for the weekend. We even got talking when we were there to pick up and he told us how they have a cotton candy machine and the supplies.. so they had one available for that weekend so we took that too.. kids and older kids loved it. Will definitely go back to rent anything we need..

We rented a propane griddle for a breakfast event on our farm property. The grill was well engineered and easy to use. Communication to arrange pick-up went well. Price was totally reasonable. I would do this again.

First time user but not the last. Great service super friendly staff. Very nice pig roaster super duty work perfectly. Our pig roast was a success. Thank you see you next year.

We rented a cotton candy machine for our Xmas in July party. All of the grandkids love it. GrandMa and GrandPa enjoyed making the cotton candy, it was easy and fun. We highly recommend this treat for a party.

Machico is the very embodiment of professionalism. I stopped by her store at the last minute to purchase some flowers, and in just a few minutes , with the few flowers she had left, she crafted the most beautiful bouquet with care and creativity.

Cannot recommend this place enough!

I have seen florists in Centretown charge absurd amounts of money for three sad little flowers and a leaf, so I did a lot of research before coming here.

My budget was $50, I described my colour specifications, and the owner created an impossibly gorgeous bouquet: bird of paradise, yellow rose, sunflower, Gerbera daisies, beautiful shapes. The shop has such a comfortable air inside and out. I will never go anywhere else for flowers in Ottawa!

Courteous, professional personnel all the way. Boat was clean with lots of room to move around. Guided tour in both languages was very interesting and well done. Refreshments available. Washrooms on board. Decent price. I'll take it again. 🤨🤨🤨

We were on this boat on Saturday night for the 80’s dance party
Very little seating, no windows in centre section of both decks, out door at front and back of boat were standing only and the smoking area
Stood in line for 30 min to get a drink
Staff was friendly and accommodating
But we won’t be sailing with them again

We bought 6 tickets in 2022 and it was already closed earlier than usual even though we made it on time. After that, we couldn't go at all in 2022 since it was closed until the following year. The person was nice enough to let us know that we could go at any time as long as the ticket wasn't scanned. We couldn't go in 2023 due to our family member passing away. Then we decided to go this year, so we emailed Julia about our tickets since it still hasn't been scanned. Julia rejected it altogether even though I told her about our situation. We felt cheated and hurt. We trusted them to keep their word and we were quite naive, unfortunately. This company absolutely has no integrity. I highly recommend staying FAR away from this company. It was a quite expensive mistake and we greatly regret it.

Ottawa - May Long Weekend
Booked this cruise online on the Ekeau Website - very easy to do.
They offer 2 types of tickets - premium and regular - premium gives you first pick of the seats and costs a few dollars more - we booked premium.
This is an electric boat - very quiet and a very smooth ride - mind you, there is not real disruptions on the Rideau Canal.
The ticket taker scanned our tickets - easy to save in Google Wallet for scanning - and lined everyone up politely and neatly. He was very professional and courteous. They had our names in their Scanner and new how many were in our party.
Once the boat was prepped for boarding, they boarded the few premium people first and then the rest.
The Tour Guide was a bilingual young man who was very entertaining and funny - always calling out to people on the shore for everyone to wave. He was very informative and answered questions. Unfortunately, the foliage on the shore did block views of some things - but that is nature. The boat ride was awesome. He did mention at first that the "bar" was open, but the seats were very close together and getting out of them was not very easy to do - so, no one approached the bar until the return trip (once the boat turned around).
On the return trip, the Tour Guide went around the boat answering questions to ensure everyone had equal opportunity to ask questions and talk to him.
Boat - very clean and smooth ride. 5/5

Not very expensive - I recommend it!!
