Wedding Vendors in Ottawa

The website does make this place look a lot better than it is which felt like a catfish moment. The room was clean but dated. Our door had a bunch of old drill marks and holes from old lacks and they were quite sharp and should be looked at or filed down. We booked in saying we were travelling with a baby and they gave us a room on the second floor with access by stairs. Main floor would have been more convenient with a baby. The hot tub was under renovation when we went which was too bad. Breakfast was pretty good. Standard egg and sausage type but tasty. Check out and check in was easy. Our room didn't have a view but the canal was right behind and very pretty.

The room required some work like the cabinet drawer kept sliding open. That same cabinet needs a good cleaning and paint job. The fridge is in another cabinet in which the cabinet floor was damaged.
The toilet and shower ate in a separate room from the sink. There is only one towl rack in the shower area. It would be nice to have an extra towel rack by the sink and hanging hooks in the shower for clothes.
The laminant flooring is dark gray. We found that the floor was extremely dirty (as our feet were black after walking bear foot upon entering) and informed reception of the fact.
Seems to be a lot of parking. An airport shuttle van is available with 20 minite notice.
Breakfast was good.
There were balconies available; however we did not have one.
There is a guest laundromat. Good prices too.

Perfect little stay over hotel for short term. Clean, quiet with a relaxing outdoor setting. Large Adirondack chairs at the water to sit and rest. Outdoor patio to enjoy a meal from their on site restaurant. Special requests for dinner are addressed with care and staff welcome you like family! Very nice place to stay if you are just passing through.

We had the pleasure of being helped by Fredric, and he was absolutely wonderful! He assisted us with moving all of our luggage and belongings from one room to another, and he did it with so much patience, kindness, and professionalism. His customer service is truly outstanding! He’s a people’s person, very friendly, and made the whole process so much easier for us. Thank you, Fredric, for going above and beyond and making our stay so much more comfortable!

The view of the Rideau Canal from our room and on the property was beautiful.

They serve a continental breakfast and let us sit on the side patio with the dogs even though the patio was not open.

We recently bought some lovely wallpaper at your store with the help of one of your helpful and knowledgeable staff. When we picked it up, they recommended Sue and Drew to install it. This professional paint and wallpaper team, responded quickly to our request and did a wonderful job installing it, in a very challenging area that included a stairway. We will definitely return to Randall's and use Sue and Drew again for future projects.

Called to order the C2 Wood Guard product that Jeff Thornton recommended on his DIY YouTube Channel. The person that answered the phone was extremely helpful at getting my order ready so my aunt from Ottawa could pick it up and bring it to me in Hamilton to re-finish my deck. They were so knowledgeable about the product and gave me expert advice to make sure my project turned out right. I felt comfortable placing my $667 order with them because they really made me feel like they knew what they were talking about. My deck turned out AMAZING! Best of all this product can now be re-applied after a through washing if I need to, no more sanding involved. This stuff makes the water beed right off the wood. I should have used this product years ago. If anyone wants to know this is the "Sugar Maple" tint and 5 gallons did 350sqft with 3 coats. I did only the railing tops, and the deck floor boards, not the spindles. I had 3/4 of a gallon left over for future touch-ups. Thanks guys!! Really happy! I will buy from you again when my Aunt is coming up for other projects at my house because of your fantastic service.

Anne was my consultant and (owner of the store)our initial appointment choosing a roller blind for my kitchen window went well. However, I would have appreciated knowing that the installation (which took all of 3 minutes) was actually 2 screws in the window and clicking in the finished blind. Cost for measuring the window and installing the 2 screws and brackets was $328 (including tax). My husband, who is very handy, was extremely annoyed about this as it would have taken him 5 minutes to install. My brother-in-law who was visiting at the time indicated that was a very expensive install cost for a 3 minute job. In addition I expressed to Anne that I was disappointed in my choice of blind colour. I chose it on a cloudy day and it was installed on a sunny day in a southern exposure. The result is that it looks like a white blind that one could buy at any store. I wasn’t asking for anything from Anne - just expressing my discontent with my colour choice, (especially given it cost me $407.09 (tax included). I should note that Anne did NOT charge me for the blind header due to an error on her part which would have cost me $157. In conclusion her attitude when I told her about the “expensive”install fee and my disappointment regarding my colour choice was very defensive and quite rude. For this reason I will not reorder any custom items from this store again!! Gail Sherman

I would highly recommend Jessica at the bank street Randall's Paint store for your next project. Her expert advice guided me to the perfect wallpaper and beautiful complementary paint choice for my front hall and dining room spaces. If you don't even know where to start as there are so many colour and wallpaper pattern choices, then ask for Jessica! She has amazing ideas and designer skills.

Raymond is the sweetest, most genuine and most professional tailor I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. He fixed my suit and pants, and crafted a custom shirt for me in only one week and for a really competitive price.

Raymond saved the day. My wife came into Raymond's shop with an emergency job (a jacket with a lining that had become detached, which she was planning to wear for our son's wedding in one week) while he was between appointments. Raymond very kindly fit her in and agreed to do the work on an urgent basis despite being extremely busy. He did an excellent job on this very tricky task, not only fusing the lining but painstakingly and expertly tacking down the lines of hand-done flowers at the trim, making the jacket look like new. We can't recommend him highly enough, both for his warm personality and his expertise and mastery of his craft.

Raymond is a master of his trade. We here in Ottawa are truly blessed to have such a skilled tailor in our city, and one who's prices are so reasonable at that. I went to Raymond for my wedding suit which I got fully custom and could not have been happier! The craftsmanship is of the highest quality. Raymond pays great attention to detail, he also won't hesitate to give you his professional opinion should you need it. I found Raymond to be very friendly and accommodating. Whether you need alterations a suit off the rack or custom Raymond is your man.

Rayne is truly an angel. She did my makeup for a wedding today, and the entire experience was wonderful. Her space is cozy, with an incredibly comfortable makeup chair. Rayne is a beautiful person, unfortunately our make up experience was not the best. My daughter and I went to her for makeup for my son's wedding. As soon as we got home my daughter's eyelashes fell off. We had to rush around to shop for other eyelashes:( We both had to add to our eye shadow application and reduce the foundation application.

Rayne is extremely talented and gifted and did an amazing job with my eyelash extensions and my make up. I had asked her for a beautiful dewy and glowy make up look and she delivered. I booked a makeup lesson with Rebecca prior to my wedding after having to part ways with the MUA I had originally booked. It was too late to get anyone else, so I figured I would take a lesson and just do it myself.

Rebecca was AMAZING. Not only did she work to show me how to use products I already had, she put together a detailed shopping list for the things I was missing, and tailored the appointment to bridal makeup since that is what my end goal was - think products with more staying power and better photo quality. On top of all that, she was so sweet and kind.

Lisa, the store owner, is an absolute gem! She’s an amazing teacher and so incredibly helpful and patient. Plus, her knowledge of the products she sells is just mind-blowing! Lisa is always honest about the products, because she genuinely cares about her customers and wants them to be happy. That makes you want to come back time and again.

I came in last Thursday for some Fusion Mineral paint, but was in need of some advice as well. The woman who was working (not sure if the owner or an employee) was super friendly and knowledgeable. She confirmed that mineral paint was the right fit for my project and advised me on choosing the best colour combination. She provided great advice on brushes, prep and top coating too.

In addition to several popular paint brands, there are other fun things for sale like reclaimed picture frames. Such a pleasure to bring my business there.

Very happy to see that this local business is still around and survived the COVID pandemic. That's a testament to the knowledgeable and experienced staff working there.

A recent project of mine to repurpose wooden picture frames required some special paint. I knew that Recreated Designs stocked Annie Sloan chalk paint, milk paint, and Fusion brands and staff helped me pick out the best one to suit my needs.

They also had some interesting commissions on the work bench, giving some old solid furniture a new life. Very cool stuff.

Next time I visit I will try to remember to take some photos.

Walked in this store randomly looking for a new belt to go with my professional wardrobe. There was a good amount of selection. The store was well-lit, professional-looking and welcoming. There was a good music on and a good ambience. Staff was helpful. All in all , an excellent place to shop for formal wear, and also an opportunity to support a local business.

Went with no knowledge of looking good (blue collar construction worker). Pat and Rene know their stuff and had me looking like a million bucks after. Friendly staff, great atmosphere.

I am a lawyer and bought my Robes from Giroux years ago. I had a great and professional experience with them at that time.

However, I had continued buying my suits at another popular and well known corporately run "mens clothing store." My experience at this other store had declined considerably in recent years.

I then decided to buy two suits from Giroux's and am glad I made the change. I received friendly service and quality suits. I wear a suit almost every working day, and moving forward I am going to be spending my money at Giroux's.

I highly recommend any professionals check them out if you have not already!

I’ve been wanting to visit this store for a long time, and I finally did. Very happy. Great, friendly service. I bought a suit and the alterations were perfect - so far, a great experience. I the. Went back a few weeks later and purchased a made-to-measure dress shirt. Picked up the shirt and it’s perfect. The shirt fits me, a larger, plump body style, better than any off-the-shelf shirts I’ve tried or purchased in the past. I see why this local store has been around for so many years and I’m glad I went to check them out.

Quality staffing

July 2025. Stayed here for a trip and also because our kids were having a conference at the college. The rooms were comfortable and fulfilled our needs. The only minus would be that the rooms are potentially quite far from front desk. It would be a problem if the carts are in use (which can happen with conferences). Pay parking is right beside the building, which has to be paid daily.

WARNING: Families, Avoid This Place! Unsafe & Unresponsive Management
My stay at Residence Inn on June 26th was a disaster. I was forced to check out late with my children and find a different hotel due to completely unacceptable conditions.
Our first room reeked of marijuana. We were moved, only for the second room to have no working AC and, critically, a broken door lock. This was a major safety hazard for my family.
This hotel is poorly maintained, unsafe, and their customer service for real problems is nonexistent. *****Do not risk your family's safety or comfort here****.

All good. Booked a 2 bedroom suite for my brother and me. Overnight parking was only $6.25. Parking is adjacent to building. Quiet and safe. There are plenty of restaurants and groceries nearby. Bedrooms have openable windows for ventilation. Entire unit has strong air conditioning.

Worst experience ever. Do not go here.
The rooms stink. Are hot chambers. Lifts don't work. No ventilation. Front desk doesn't respond.

When reached out to the residence to manage this situation, the "Sales Manager" is also not available to speak. Spend a little extra and go somewhere else.

I booked a hotel room, not a student dorm. There’s No TV, no couch, and the rooms just an overall dingy feeling. 10/10 would not recommend taking your family here. False advertising.

If I had arrived earlier I would have stayed somewhere else.

We visited in February 2025 during a less busy time, the restaurant was beautiful on the outside and on the inside. The food tasted incredible and the staff were friendly and professional. When my grandfather suffered a medical emergency, the staff handled the situation calmly, professionally and compassionately. Thank you to our server Kass for her outstanding service and friendliness! Will eat here again!

We had a reservation at a different restaurant in the market for a special event last Saturday and the place closed without any communication to us, we were left without a venue to host our guest. Luckily 18 was able to accommodate us and made the evening a special experience.
Our waiter, Nick, was very attentive and professional. The food was good. They were very accommodating given it was a short notice.

Nice and warm staff, high-quality food, and good service. We tried their caviar service and paired it with their sparkling wines. Would recommend.

Great food and great service! We arrived around 6 on a Friday evening, and they seated us right away. The waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive. The fois grass and burrata were very tasty. The steak and the magret de canard were good, and the creme brulee was to die for.

The absolute best meal I have had in my life, and its not even close.

After tonight I feel like good food can be measured on an exponential scale. This made the second best meal I've had in my life feel like it was leagues behind.

Great location. Clean, modern, apartment style rooms. Staff was exceptionally kind and courteous throughout the duration of the stay.

Many amenities in the hotel itself, including event rooms, and a gym. Anything that might not be there is definitely within walking distance being right on Queen, a block away from Parliament Hill.

Our Weekend stay was amazing at this Hotel, from the first greeting at the desk, Adam, took care of us. Our room was amazing and wonderful. All the amenities needed, a home away from home is what if felt like. Location, walking distance to everything. Cleanliness was 10/10. I would go back to this same hotel in a heartbeat. It didn't feel like a weekend trip. Again it just felt like being home.

The suites were great, I booked specifically for the washer and dryer but the kitchen was also very helpful for our stay.

The suites are nice and clean and the extra furniture is nothing fancy but allowed us to work out of the room and also have food etc.

Amenities were also great, nice gym and billiards room.

Staff was super helpful and friendly. Josh and Matt helped change our reservation around multiple times as our plans were very fluid.

Would stay again, highly recommended.

Good one night stay. Service at check-in and check-out was laidback but pleasant. Staff was helpful. Room was very spacious and bedding was excellent. I got great sleep. Location was central. This is by all means a good accommodation and represents a fair value, especially if you’re in need of accommodation for an extended period, but there are a few things that prevent reStays from being great:
1) shower water pressure was extremely low during my stay in an executive one bedroom suite in the sparks tower. I don’t mean to say that the pressure was not to my liking, but the pressure was too low to effectively shower. 2) sickly sweet chemical-like smell in the suite. The scent used to clean or perhaps perfume the rooms felt clinical in nature and made me question what previous odours they may have been trying to mask. 3) no floor/elevator security. The only lock/security implementation in place at this property is the lock on the door to your suite.Made me feel slightly uneasy but perhaps this is normal in Ottawa (I was visiting from out of town). 4) sewage smell on the first floor/lobby. Self-explanatory.

If those considerable shortcomings were addressed this would be pretty much perfect stay.

We had an absolutely lovely stay at ReStays last month. From the start, Mark provided absolutely top notch service and attention to detail to make our stay wonderful and accommodating.

The 2 bedroom stay was spacious, bright and comfortable, becoming a home away from home during the stay and the amenities on property were the icing on the cake. We especially enjoyed the pool table in the game room.

The location was also perfect, with grocery, shopping and key landmarks in close walking distance for ideal convenience.

Overall, truly happy with our stay and highly recommend ReStays. Thanks again Mark!

I go there for meetings, conferences and work functions. The place is always clean, staff are kind and it's very well layed out. Highly recommend for an event !

My family had flowers delivered for my birthday yesterday from Rideau Florist. I was not home at the time of the delivery and the flowers were left outside (photo 1) in -14°. When I got home the water and flowers are frozen from being left outside (photo 2). My flowers are completely fried this morning (photo 3).

There are two white roses and 3 small hydrangeas in a vase that cost $100 (probably plus delivery).

Don’t waste your money here.

Does not deliver same day like advertised and didn’t even communicate that they couldn’t fulfill the expected order same day (and we ensured we ordered within the time frame expected to get same day delivery).
We had to call to confirm and that’s when we found out they weren’t going to meet expected timelines. The person over the phone was also trying to make excuses the entire time rather than just own up to the mistake.

Highly unprofessional garbage company. They can’t even deliver during an 11 hour window on Valentine’s Day. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!! $130 for that garbage that looks nothing like what they advertise. Delivery guy shows up at 10pm after calling 6 times in a row with a phone that doesn’t work. Pure garbage

Absolute trash. Advertise one thing and send another. Not just a small substitution, an actual different bouquet. Overpriced for nothing. Responded to my first email and offered 25% refund. I emailed back and said it was unacceptable. No further correspondence. Terrible. Horrible. Do not use this shop.

Do NOT order from this company. Flowers and a gift were to be delivered to my daughter on Sunday... the flowers were delivered, but no gift. Every day when I contact them they say it will be delivered today, but it doesn't arrive. I wasted $173. It's so disappointing.

Beautiful, cozy B&B in the heart of Ottowa, a beautiful old brick house, a small hotel that also has a family touch thanks to the hostess. The rooms are tastefully furnished and still offer all the comforts. In the bathroom I found everything I needed and the bed was very comfortable.

My husband and I and his brother booked two rooms at the Rideau Inn. It was an extremely good value, convenient to almost everything Ottawa has to offer. This is a beautifully maintained older home that is spotlessly clean. We had rooms with en suite bathrooms. Some have a private bathroom, but you have to pass through the hall to get to it. Each room is different. We made ample use of the lovely common areas to plan our excursions. Lucie, our host, was super helpful when we had questions. The self serve continental breakfast included croissants, muffins, toast, cereal, fruit, hard boiled eggs, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, orange juice, real creamer and more. They provide shampoo and body wash in the showers. This was an excellent experience and we wouldn't think of staying anywhere else when next we visit.

Wonderful Bed and Breakfast in downtown Ottawa. Location is superb. A stone's throw from pubs, restaurants, and entertainment. Staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The Inn is extremely clean and well maintained. The common areas include fridges and a comfy place to relax. The prices are very reasonable! The $10 parking option is also great. There's only 3 small parking spots, so book that in advance if you need a safe place to park your vehicle. I visit Ottawa at least twice a year, and this is going to become my go-to place for overnight visits. Best part of all, it's an official Bed and Breakfast, not a shady Airbnb "ghost hotel" that takes away housing stock from Ottawa locals. Support this honest accommodation business, they deserve a lot of love for the excellent service they deliver!

Absolutely phenomenal experience. We were in Ottawa for two nights and the location was just perfect. close to all the major landmarks and also there is a 24/7 diner close to the inn which makes it very convenient. I have to mention the host who was super humble and helped us throughout the stay. The place is clean, white and super comforting. Would definitely go again

Quaint location, with a very nice room. Bed/bedding was very comfortable, and cozy. The interior has a well kept, Edwardian style which I apricated. The room was very clean, and quiet. They provide a continental breakfast (which we did not use), which looked well stocked and ready quite early. The owner is frankly adorable, and a pleasant introduction to the location. Check it out; it's a much better option than getting a larger chain hotel in Ottawa.

It has a single downside, and that is parking. They have parking at the rear which can house up to three cars; however with snow this shrinks a little, making things a bit tight. Just be aware of this, and you'll be fine.
