We had the most wonderful experience hosting our wedding at the River Lounge this past July. We had about 65 people, including children. The venue is intimate and breathtaking, with a stunning patio close to the water that set a perfect, natural backdrop. We needed minimal décor, as the space’s beauty truly speaks for itself, especially with the twinkle lights and overhead chandeliers that gave the space a really warm feeling!

The food was exceptional—from the delicious hors d’oeuvres to the beautifully presented dinner. The service was impeccable, with the wait staff, bartenders, and setup team all delivering top-notch professionalism and care. Everything flowed seamlessly, with perfect timing throughout the event.

Our coordinator, Clem, was an absolute gem. She was organized, attentive, and flexible, meeting with us multiple times before the wedding to ensure every detail was perfect. She handled our questions, last-minute changes, and venue visits with ease and worked well with our other vendors. The whole evening ran like clockwork.

The value for the cost was great and we also used the venue’s recommended florist, who is related to the owners, and they exceeded our expectations. The table arrangements and bouquets were gorgeous, perfectly complementing the space.
We couldn’t have asked for a better venue or team to make our day so special. Highly recommend the River Lounge for any event you have in mind!

Wow! Where to begin! We had our engagement here last weekend and it was the best decision we ever made. The whole planning process was so seamless, we were always heard and met with patience and understanding. These events can always be stressful but Clem and her team made sure we were very well taken care of. The space was amazing with the brick stone walls, and the food…. was DELICIOUS! Literally all our guests came up to us wanting to take some home! If you are still debating on whether or not to book the river lounge for your next event i’d say stop thinking and go for it. You won’t regret it.

I recently attended the Free Thursday Nights event and found it to be a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The atmosphere was conducive to mingling and engaging in social interactions. One plate, the bar caterer, and their bartender Emilio, deserve special mention for their expertly crafted and diverse selection of both fruity mocktails and cocktails. The bar was well-stocked with a variety of wines and spirits, and I particularly enjoyed my Gin and Tonic. I highly recommend attending this event if you're seeking a fun and engaging evening.

The River Lounge is a hidden gem of Ottawa on the Rideau River. The fireplace and stone arches were the perfect romantic and timeless backdrop we were seeking for our New Year's Eve wedding.

In our meetings, the owner, Marlon, would make us feel at home and go to great lengths to understand our vision and needs. We were never pressured to spend more than we intended. In fact, Marlon took our budget so seriously, whenever we considered something above our budget he would use his creativity to make things work for us. Marlon understands the importance of every detail and adjusted his seasonal decor to accommodate our wedding theme.

Marlon himself is very particular about food and wine. We have to say his chef created a phenomenal dining experience, complete with wine pairing for each course, that impressed all of our guests. The staff at the River Lounge were incredibly friendly and accommodating with our guests and made sure our special day went off without a hitch. They even put together an elaborate brunch for the day after our wedding!

Our family and friends said that our wedding was truly magical and enchanting. We recommend the River Lounge to anyone who wants their wedding or special event to be a truly memorable experience!

Florals were such an important part of our wedding, and Amber did not disappoint! She made the planning process so easy and was great about working within our budget. She brought our vision to life perfectly – we were blown away by the bouquets and arrangements. They looked stunning in person and even more amazing in our photos, I cannot recommend Riverwood Gardens enough!!

I absolutely loved my wedding day flowers, all thanks to Riverwood Gardens! The vibe I was going for was effortless, Boho, unique, colorful, and they nailed it perfectly!! The flowers were so beautiful - everyone was complementing them all day. Amber was also very easy to work with, very kind, responsive and accommodating. We gave our vision, and Riverwood Gardens delivered a result that was beyond what we had expected. The florals were beautiful, and exactly fit our vision. They were so easy to work with.

My bridesmaid referred me to Riverwood Gardens after using them for her own wedding. As someone who knows pretty much nothing about flowers, I trusted Amber with everything and she did not disappoint! I told her what my wedding colours were and she recommended some flowers that I had to google. On the wedding day they brought the most beautiful flowers! One of my other vendors said they were the freshest wedding flowers she'd seen and she would have to start recommending Riverwood Gardens to her clients! They definately exceeded my expectations!

Went to Riviera Ottawa for dinner. The ambiance was very nice. Kind of like dark-ish, fancy speakeasy vibes (but not with the hush hush talking lol). We ordered: steak frites, medium rare — very tender and flavourful; scallop chowder — love this, great starter, scallop tasted so fresh and the ginger was a nice touch; burger — really good classic burger, double patty, very heavy and filling. Our server was also very polite (we forgot his name) and gave great suggestions. We would have gotten dessert, but we were stuffed after lol. Would definitely come back!

I've only been to Riviera for drinks so far, but have never been disappointed with the options or the service. The curated cocktails are creative and delicious. The wine list is impressive. And if you're an amateur of gins like me, you'll have plenty to chose from.

Such an incredible experience. The food was delicious and the staff was very attentive. If you have an opportunity to sit at the bar and watch the chefs cook I highly recommend it. It was like dinner and a show. These guys are a fine oiled machine.

We enjoyed our dinner at this popular restaurant. The service was attentive, and the food was both delicious and refreshing. The dessert, however, was a little too sweet for our taste.

Had an amazing dinner at Riviera, which has been a restaurant that I’ve been meaning to try for a while now. Service was phenomenal, the servers are very attentive and gave a lot of great suggestions. Cocktail list is huge and the cocktails we got were really creative. Oysters were very fresh and we loved the hot sauce that came with it. The ravioli was amazing, probably my favourite dish! The filling was delicious, ravioli was cooked to perfection, and the sauce was so light and complimented the rich ravioli. Steak frites were also really good. Steak was cooked perfectly to medium rate, fries were really crisp, and the fried sage leaves added a nice flavour to the fries. They also have a Photo Booth in the back which is really fun!

I cannot recommend Rob enough! He is so incredibly talented, professional, and personable - very easy to get along with and made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. He made sure to get many different shots of myself and my husband on our wedding day, so we have tons of amazing photos to choose from and it’s hard to pick favourites. His photography style is really unique and beautiful, and from an admin perspective he’s super organized and responsive to messages. Overall, we were extremely pleased with our experience with Rob as our wedding photographer and wouldn’t hesitate to hire him again!

My husband and I can't recommend Rob enough!! He really went all out to make our special day even more special and unforgettable. From the first phone call that we had with him, we knew right away that he would be a wonderful person to work with. Though videography was a last-minute addition to our wedding planning, he navigated the situation with great insight and a keen sense of what to do on a moment's notice. He was more than willing to work with the schedule that we had during the day, and gave us insight as to what he thought would be best to do in terms of filming, while also blending seamlessly into the background to film in his "fly on the wall" style.

His videography style goes beyond just recording all of the events as they happen, he seamlessly creates a story with everything that he captures. He even went out of his way to include our precious furry babies in our video (which means a whole lot to us!!) It was so nice to get to re-experience everything through such a soft, romantic and cheerful lens.

Insane truck driver drove above the speed limit into incoming traffic to pass a bus. Completely unnecessary as they were headed to a red light. It was this company's truck. Teach your drivers defensive driving or someone's gonna get hurt!

My husband and I Love Robertson Electric but it would be nice to be able to speak our language which is French especially when we don't know the correct word in English,.

Excellent service. Friendly and patient. Returns are easy.

They have a whole warehouse full of electrical supplies. They mostly serve electricians but are open to the public. They carry many electrical items not available at Home Depot or Lowes.

I never ever write reviews, but after this past weekends interactions with Robinson Limousine I feel as though I should because it was an AMAZING experience. I was in a very tricky situation where I more than likely was going to be scammed by the other limo company that I had booked for prom. There was a group of 15 of us so we needed a larger vehicle. So, three days before prom I called every single limo company with no luck as many other schools also had prom that day. Due to the size of our group other companies did not have big enough vehicles left to offer. Our pick up address was out of the way which is why the most that was offered from another company was a limo for $1600 for a one-way 30 minute trip. Eventually, I call Robinson Limo. To my surprise they answered, listened to me explain my situation, and worked around it! The man I spoke with over the phone was very understanding and patient. Robinson Limousine was able to work out a limo for a GREAT and comparable price. At this point I was still nervous that something wasn’t going to work out because of how sketchy the last company I spoke with was. However, come the day of our wonderful, clean limo arrived right on time with the lovely “Shanna Banana” driving! My friends and I could not get over how awesome she was. She was VERY easy to work with and was all about us having fun, singing, and being loud. We all had an absolute BLAST on our way to prom. Between the flexibility, customer service, and atmosphere of this company it is 100% worth the money and something you will not regret! Everything this company did for us is so well appreciated. BOOK WITH THEM!

I hired a 14 passenger limo from Robinson Limousine for a birthday surprise and am very happy with their service. They arrived early, letting me know they were there. The limo was very clean. They provided two bottles of sparkling wine and had bottled water available. The limo was very comfortable, and it felt very exciting and fun to be traveling in such a classy car. Thank you Frank.

We had Robinson Limousine for our wedding on the weekend. We had a great experience with them. They made multiple trips, and the ladies group was very behind schedule. The driver was extremely accomodating for us and made sure we still arrived on time even though we were running late.
The limo was clean and stocked, and we all had a glass of champagne on route.

We booked Robinson Limo for our wedding day and we were very satisfied with their service. Our driver Rob did an excellent job maneuvering a snowstorm the day of our wedding. He is a professional and skilled driver. He ensured we had everything we needed and event helped everyone walk through the snow and ice when we arrived at the various destinations for the ceremony, photos, and reception. He was courteous and all around great!

Excellent facility for conventions, conferences, receptions or any other large scale event where you need a lot of space to comfortably accomodate hundreds of people, without it looking packed or them feeling crowded.

I attended a two-day conference at this facility, and I was impressed by the beauty of the structure (inside and out), as well as the amount of natural light coming in from the floor-to-wall glass walls that also give way to wonderful views of our city, as you gaze from inside that glass dome outwards.

I have to also praise them for their catering, the sound & visuals and temperature control. Everything was exceptional, and the staff very friendly and helpful.

One thing I found very confusing was the parking situation, because it's not explained well online ... but it turned to be very simple. Just go to the Blue Parking lot in the Rideau Centre and exit (on foot) from where you entered, because that's adjacent to the entrance of the Rogers Centre.

The venue price is good but keep in mind that the food and beverage price is steep. You need to expect 18% fee + %13 HST on top of super expensive food and beverage costs.

Very professional staff and they do their best to accommodate your needs.

Something to note about having your event in the summer time is that first level rooms are very hot and 3rd and 4th floor rooms are very cold. I think the HVAC system could be better.

Overall, I would still give 5 star give the management team cares about your satisfaction.

This place was where uottawa graduates had their ceremony. There were amazing aesthetics such red light within brown rail-liking architecture and many spacious floors. However, the graduate ceremony does not have floors where guest and graduates are seated like an auditorium. It is all in one floor level which sucks to see from distance for the stage views.

As a male with long hair, I chose this salon believing it would be the right place to get a high-quality cut tailored to my needs—especially since I was willing to pay more than I would at a typical barber. Unfortunately, that trust was misplaced.

I specifically asked to keep my hair long. It was just below my shoulders when I walked in—and by the time I left, it had been chopped up to my ears. My request was ignored entirely. Over a year of growth and care was gone in a matter of minutes, without warning or consultation.

If you're a man with long hair, I strongly advise thinking twice before coming here. Price does not guarantee attention to detail or respect for your input. In my experience, that expectation was not met.

I had an amazing experience at Rose & Rebel Salon! Leah, my stylist, was fantastic from start to finish. During the consultation, she listened carefully and suggested a cut and style that perfectly complemented my face shape. The beach waves she created were absolutely stunning and exactly what I wanted. Leah’s skill and attention to detail made me feel confident and pampered. I’m thrilled with my new look and will definitely be back!

This restaurant had been on my bucket list for a while, and I’m glad I finally had a chance to try it out. It was my first time trying escargots, and the dish definitely didn’t disappoint. The seafood medley was also excellent—absolutely delicious. I enjoyed my desserts, and left not only very satisfied but genuinely full, given how tasty and filling my meal was. It was a friend’s birthday and the other restaurant goers seated nearby were so kind as to make it a memorable experience for her as well. I really appreciated the beautiful decor and ambiance.

Perfect atmosphere, perfect dinner, perfect service.
We loved all, from generous appetizers to gorgeous and flavored Rosebowl plate for two.
Don't forget dessert, we had tartufo and tiramisu, just excellent.

Table for 2 walk in on weekend. Resteraunt is very busy and we got seated to one of the booth facing the bar. Atmosphere is good and the server is friendly and polite. We tried a few signature drinks recommended by the server and they taste good. Presentation is excellent. Tried a few entree and the shrimp weren’t cooked properly. We told the manager and she took it back and brings us a new dish. At the end, she told us the cook was a bit off today and there were a few feedback on the food. She told us that she will “comp” the drinks but at the end it didn’t happened. Parkings are available on the street in the front and side of resteraunt.

The place looked a bit run down. A bunch of small damages were observable. Music was very loud and sometimes a bit odd.
Service was alright, although the waitresses outfits were a bit too open for my taste.
My fried zucchini were alright. Nice sauce, but nothing out of the box. I enjoyed the Roquefort salad.
The in-bone filet was a bit of a disappointment. Definitely not bad, but you expect something more from a premium cut like this one.

Overall not a bad place, but I expected more. The prices are high relative to what’s offered.

A real shame because the people I spoke with were very proffessional and seemed more then knowledgeable.

We just got married over the long weekend. We contacted Ashley for her decorations and we ended up hiring her as our day of coordinator as well!
Let me tell you, a lot of people say "the wedding just flew by, I don't remember much of it". Well my wife and I won't be able to say that, because Ashley was there for us. We were able to enjoy it fully. Our decorations looked great. Having your day of coordinator be your decorator as well is huge.
She was there with us from 10:30am (church) and at the venue at 3pm until 2:30am. She charges a fair price for the peace of mind we got from it.
My wife and I are very last minute people. We gave her some last minute changes and she was just okay with all of it. She didn't seem stressed at all, just calm and collected.
She is a great choice :)

We rented chairs from Rustic Engagements for my mother’s 50th birthday. They were awesome to work with, very quick to respond and very kind and friendly.

Food was exceptional.. we were able to get 1/2 price apps and cocktails before 7pm. Our main meal was amazing !! Wine so nice. We would recommend 10/10. We also got a surprise it was our wedding anniversary last week and asked if we were celebrating anything, we said our anniversary last week and they brought us dessert!!

We went for the 5-7pm happy hour which was well worth it (half price appetizers + $12 cocktails)!

The tuna crudo was the star of the evening, but I really enjoyed the shrimp cocktail and beef tartare as well. The skillet mac n cheese was also surprisingly very good, with quality cheese. Our server (unfortunately did not get her name!) was warm and friendly without being overbearing, much appreciated on a weekday evening after work!

Their patio is beautiful and located in the back of the restaurant, so there is minimal noise from the street.

This place is classy, elegant, chic. This place is absolutely top tier in every sense. The music, the atmosphere, the food, the service. Came here to celebrate my 6 year anniversary with my wife and we honestly couldn’t have chosen a better place to come to, they even surprised us with a small little happy anniversary dessert. The drinks are top level, the food is absolutely delicious and the hostess/waitress was amazing. Definitely planning to make this our go to for all our special occasions.

I had the most incredible experience at Somewhere Dine Bar, and I can’t recommend it enough! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was absolutely perfect—chill, relaxing, and oh-so-inviting, with its cozy lighting and stylish ambiance. It was the ideal spot to celebrate my boyfriend and my anniversary, and the staff made us feel so special from start to finish.
The food? Absolutely out of this world! We indulged in a meal that was nothing short of amazing. The steak was the highlight—hands down the best I’ve ever had! Cooked to perfection with incredible flavor, it was tender, juicy, and simply to die for. The sides, including the delicious fries, complemented it beautifully. But the real surprise came when they brought out a stunning cheesecake for our anniversary, beautifully decorated with “Happy Anniversary” written in red sauce, topped with fresh strawberries and edible flowers, and even a sparkling candle for that extra touch of magic. It was a thoughtful gesture that made our night unforgettable.
The service was impeccable, the decor was on point, and the overall vibe was just what we needed for a romantic and memorable evening. Somewhere Dine Bar exceeded all expectations, and I’m already planning my next visit. If you’re looking for an amazing dining experience with top-notch food and a laid-back yet elegant atmosphere, this is the place to be. Staff were very friendly. Went during happy hour which is 5-7pm, and the appetizers were half off. This was nice, as I felt the food was overpriced for what we got. The food was just okay. Would not feel worth it if I had to pay the full price. The presentation was very nice, but it was just lacking flavour overall. Got the wagyu dumplings, truffle tuna crudo, Korean fried chicken, and the roasted broccolini. The drinks were very good!

This is a hidden gem. Hands down the best Senegalese food in Ottawa (Also better than Montreal’s). This is probably my 10th time ordering. Sadiya never disappoints! Highly recommend 15/10!!

Food is delicious, I have tried many of their dishes and they are all excellent, you also get a lot for the price, definitely one of my favourite places to eat in Ottawa, reminds me of home food

The food was excellent! I had the best Thieboudienne rouge ever and would recommend it 100%. The fish was so tender that even though I was full, I couldn't stop eating it. 💗

We had a New Year Eve celebration with 25 people and catered by Sadiya. I cannot say enough how good the food and service was, every kid and adult loved it the flavours are so good. I will recommend them for any catering you need.

Working with Sage Designs was one of the best decisions we made when planning our wedding. Their patience while going through the design process was unmatched and their expertise really helped bring our vision to life. Their attention to detail and willingness to try new things made it that we had a unique look to our wedding - one our guests still rave about! The fact that Sage Designs is also a one stop shop alleviated so much stress on the day of the wedding as we knew set-up and tear-down would all be handled smoothly (and it was!) and would match our expectations. Wow. We were blown away by the Sage team at every step of our wedding planning process, and even more blown away when we stepped into our wedding reception and ceremony space for the first time. Jesslyn, Falynn, and the entire team are true artists at what they do.

As two people who struggled to communicate exactly the design vision of the event, Jesslyn brough the utmost patience and support to the process. Knowing how to ask the right questions, show certain samples, or share pictures in order to tease out the visuals we had in our minds. She also was so thoughtful of our budget, making suggestions about where we could make a different design choice to achieve the same effect while saving some money. Falynn so seamlessly moved our vision into production and brought it to life day of in the most magical of ways. And finally, Jesslyn and Falynn were also the most trusted confidants and joys to work with over Zoom and in person at our design meetings. I could not recommend her and the Sage team enough.

If I were building another vendor team for an event or wedding, the first pick I’d make is having Sage be a part of it

As a Wedding Planner I have worked with Sage Designs several times! My couples appreciate their meticulous attention in client meetings and thoroughness in their quotes and proposal. It helps them visualize exactly what to expect on their wedding day. They also like being able to come in studio (if they are local!) to come to a confirmation design meeting to make any tweaks or changes. They can also work with almost all budgets to find something that fits a clients vision but also is able to stay within their budget parameters, but I also like that the include a part where couples can still "consider" options to add on later if they like! I went here for the pumpkin charity ball for Halloween this year and all I got to say is what an amazing venue. Especially for Halloween. Haha What a great night I had and I'll definitely be back again for another event or to the bar downstairs. 🤙👍

As a vendor for an event held at the centre, the parking was good and easy to unload. Bathrooms were clean and food from the bar was great. I was there for RAW: Magnify, an arts show.

Terrific pub with every kind of beer and whiskey imaginable and good food.

It was afternoon tea celebrating Blooms Day from Ulysses by James Joyce. There was enactments from the book and it was all very enjoyable. The food - sandwiches and scones plus squares were lovely. The wine and Irish lager my husband ordered were great and so was the music. Very enjoyable

A banquet center in the heart of the city that's rather unassuming from the outside, but with a grand interior. The halls are huge, and the arrangements are very satisfactory. The lobby is big, clean and with a shiny floor. The food that's catered is delicious. The restrooms are nice and clean. Parking is adequate. However,  the servers, in general, could be a bit more friendly and courteous.

One of the best venues and halls for special events. Located across from Mooney's Bay, this newly upgraded and updated banquet hall boasts a large seating capacity, modern interior design and an upgraded kitchen. Beautifully decorated and spacious, and can host smaller to.larger groups for business events, as well as weddings and special occasions. Ample parking adjacent to the facility. You will not be disappointed!

My family and I went to the Lebanese festival this year and it was a blast. Music, dancing, rides for the little one, food, food and more food. It was a great time, and will be the source of great memories for years to come. We went again this year, 2023 and again was amazing. Our now 4 years old loves coming here and talked about it since last year. We will be going back again next year when it comes back to town. Also, big shout-out to all the volunteers that make it possible.

My husband and I held our reception at Saint Elias and we were very pleased with everything! They were very flexible and ensured our special day went by smoothly. Everyone working the night of our wedding was wonderful! Our guests could not stop talking about how delicious the food was throughout the whole evening! Thank you again!
