Wedding Vendors in Ottawa

We went to cafe deluxe when they were across from world exchange. I loved their delicious sandwiches, soups and hot meals, especially the chicken enchiladas on Friday. Well, that was years back and I’m excited to be back downtown and have them just a block away again. The owner was super sweet as usual, their panini sandwich was delicious and I can’t rave enough about their cookies, especially when you put a cookie on top of the soup and walk back to the office, it is warmed beautifully! Looking forward to many more visits.

I go here about once a week as I live nearby. I LOVE their panini's! Panini's are 7-10 dollars. Vegetarian (2 veggie options) with Feta, tomato, marinated eggplant, lots of yummy sauce. I take mine to go, but you can sit down and eat there.

Wow. That about sums this place up.

My colleagues took me for lunch here the other day and I got the club sandwich, it was fresh and very delicious.

I usually leave home in a rush and don't always have time to make breakfast so I have been looking for a local place that makes fresh food, that is open early.

After discovering this place and having the amazing club sandwich, I decided to try the breakfast.

I ordered the BK wrap, which comes with a small coffee for only $6.77 after tax !?

Needles to say, It was amazing.

The coffee was fresh and the wrap even fresher. The beyond reasonable price and the friendly staff was just the cherry on top.

If you work in the downtown core, and are looking for some homemade food, I highly recommend Cafe Deluxe.

I just want to give a shoutout to this wonderful Cafe who went the extra mile during their busy morning rush to help me get an order to a meeting as I was on foot. Not only was the food just fantastic, but service and the smiles! I highly recommend!!

Lots of options—including soup, chili, salad with salmon, and sandwiches—and the best gluten-free chocolate chip cookie I’ve ever had.

This is a lovely little shop with all kinds of products made in Canada. We were in Ottawa for a short visit and came across this shop on Google map selling Canadian products. The products are arranged by provinces. There are handmade maple leaves coasters which are our favourite. They are made of glass with real maple leaves fused inside the glass. It definitely feels like you are bringing a part of Ottawa home.

There are also beautiful jewelleries and other more common souvenirs such as keychains, magnets, etc. Definitely lots to look at inside a little shop that is conveniently located at Byward Market.

The shopkeeper, Anne (hope I remembered your name correctly) was super helpful and kind. She provided lots of tips in picking what I bought to bring home. Thank you. Will definitely come back next time we are in Ottawa again.

I visited here October 8, 2022. Before visiting Canada, I saw a list of foods one should definitely try, and one item was Saskatoon Prairie Berries. I thought I would not find it in Ottawa, and so was thrilled when the owner said yes, she did have this.

I also bought Canada True brand Maple Cream Cookies, and Turkey Hill Maple Green Tea, and now back home I notice the price I paid for these two is the same as the best online retail price so that is nice, and was quite reasonable in any case.

In all a wonderful store with a great selection of Canada products.

Very good place to get souvenirs. Items feel of good quality without being boutique or something, which also implies a little higher price, but it's totally worth it and accesible.

Had the most beautiful baby shower brunch here. They were very accommodating for my large group. They offered gluten free and vegetarian options. Everything ran smoothly, food came out quick. Our server ( I forget her name unfortunately) was so sweet and amazing. My only feedback is that it would be helpful to have more timely email responses when coordinating the event. I would recommend this place for hosting a small and cozy celebration. Also the Gigi mocktail is amazing!

Had an amazing experience dinning here. Heard through a friend about this restaurant and had to give it a try. Was not disappointed what so ever and in fact I would say that I have never had calamari as good as this in Ottawa. It was melt in your mouth good. Cooked to perfection and not over done. The pasta was another treat and the selections recommended by our server were spot on. A very lovely experience and will be back to try your Tiramisu.
Portion of plates was enough to share as well. Recommend ordering and sharing plates.

Wonderful service and fantastic food! We sat at the bar (which my only complaint would be the bar chairs aren't the best), and the bartender was great (I believe her name was Jess).

We enjoyed appetizers (focaccia, Arancini and Caesar salad) and the mains (cacio e pepe and creste rigate & sausage) we ordered, and the tiramisu was great as well! Negroni's on tap were quite good!

Atmosphere was good, it was lively and a good music playing lightly under the noise of the customers.

First time there. Nice decor and vibes. We sat in the section to the right so less noisy then main section.

The food was great. We had calamari, focaccia bread, chicken on special menu (super yummy), risotto and the pasta with sausage. All the portions were big.

The panna cota was delicious.

Short version: My sister and I both had issues with this florist at our weddings - two years apart. I paid a lot of money and did not get the flowers I wanted. Some issues in the delivery I received were later resolved, others were not and this was the cause of major stress on the morning of my wedding. No compensation was offered at all.

Long version: My sister was married a couple of years before me and used this florist. On her wedding day, the order she received was incorrect - it was missing a toss bouquet that she had paid for. If she hadn’t been the one to answer the door on her wedding morning, she wouldn’t have noticed until it was too late. However, since she answered the door while getting ready on the morning of her wedding, she caught the mistake, called and had a toss bouquet created and delivered. Since her issue was resolved and the flowers were pretty I wrote that off as just a one-off mistake and decided to use the florist for my wedding in 2023.

Unfortunately, when I received my flowers on my wedding day I was hugely disappointed. I made sure to answer the door like my sister had, just in case and thank goodness for that. I had requested a mix of white and pink flowers. In the weeks before the wedding, I had emphasized what kind and size of pink flowers I wanted for my wedding. I even had follow up emails with swatches of the bridesmaid dresses clarifying that I wanted it to be a darker pink than the typical bridal blush. The florist said that she was confident it would match. She offered for me to come in and see for myself, but in the chaos of wedding planning I decided to trust her since my sister's flowers were good. Then, the day of my wedding, the flowers I received had NO pink WHATSOEVER in them. They looked white and yellow/beige. My sister came to the door with me, waited for me to say it and then said she hadn’t wanted to stress me out but saw there was no pink and that this was not what I asked for. I called to get the arrangements fixed and was told that this is always what the florist makes for blush weddings (recall I had specifically clarified that it was a darker pink that I wanted) and that they never have large pink roses. A florist who never has large pink roses ? She also said that I had agreed to this. I was mid makeup on the morning of my wedding and trying my best not to cry as this florist blamed me for her mess-up of my bouquets. She said she could throw in some pink spray roses and did. This helped but I ended up with flowers different than what I had agreed on, and for over $1000 of flowers, I was hugely disappointed.

The boutonnières that were delivered also were incorrect, not matching the specifications I laid out which included which flowers to use to differentiate between the groom’s vs others’ boutonnières. This was resolved after I called about that error, but again added stress and interrupted my wedding morning.

Another issue is that I asked for two “tiny” flowers to be tucked in the back of my bouquet to commemorate loved ones who have passed away. Instead there were two large roses (somehow yellow and purple large roses exist but not pink ones) that were visible in most of my wedding photos, interrupting the colour scheme I was aiming for. Missing the focal ballet pink colour of my wedding was way too important to bother asking for that change too but that was another disappointment.

I was never offered any compensation, just blamed by the florist for her mistakes saying I agreed to the flowers when she had said she was confident they would match my colour scheme during the pre- wedding consultations.

On my wedding day and after, if guests asked if everything went off without a hitch on the big day, my answer was (and still is one and a half years later) everything was perfect, except the flowers.

My advice: use Loblaws instead. I used Loblaws the flowers in the church and got exactly what I wanted. A fraction of the price and accurate product delivered. Unless you are willing to pay a lot of money to be disappointed, do not use this florist.

We had the pleasure of having Capital Florists provide the flowers for our wedding day, and they were absolutely lovely to work with! From our first conversations they took into account our preferences for style and florals, and when they presented some initial plans they were subsequently great about tweaking and suggesting alternatives to get everything within our budget. On the day of the wedding they were on time and on the ball about setup and our florals, including table settings and a stunning arch, were all absolutely perfect. The bridal bouquet and bridesmaids' bouquets were even more stunning than we originally envisioned. Had a fantastic experience with Capital Flowers delivery. They answered the phone quickly, and were quick to respond over texts.
I was out of town and needed a flower delivery asap, and they were able to deliver the day of, even after calling at 4pm.
The pricing was also extremely reasonable for such a great arrangement.

I recently ordered a flower arrangement for a funeral the day before it was needed. Most of the details were shared through text messages while the order was officially placed online. Anna was very friendly and delivered a lovely arrangement on time in spite of quick turnaround. I would not hesitate to recommend Anna in the future.

My mom, fiancé and I went both days for the show and we had a blast. It was a great opportunity to meet skilled vendors and win prizes for your special day. I had the opportunity to speak with Shelagh and she clearly loves what she does! Will be returning for the fall show!

This show is advertised to start at 11 am but the fashion show starts at 10:30 am and ends before the wedding show opens. So if you happen to be early you can catch part of the show - really bizarre decision making on the part of the organizers. The fashion show itself is in a hallway with a short runway and a single row of chairs on each side. The venue is small and the number and type of of exhibitors is limited. Way too many "photo booth" exhibitors. This show is disappointing and overpriced. Even though a feature of the admission price is that you can go for both days, who would want to? Better to save your money and go the wedding show at the EY Centre.

If you’re looking for a legit place to sell your gold, go straight to Canada Gold. This place is the opposite of professional!! No weighing, no ID check, no paperwork, just pressure tactics and sketchy behavior. The man first offered me less, then suddenly changed his price, and after pretending to count out the cash, re-tested my bracelet multiple times before claiming it wasn’t real. I immediately went to Canada Gold and was paid $1,100 for the exact same bracelet. Save yourself the time and frustration, avoid this place at all costs.

We love seeing concerts here. Great acoustics, lots of seating, beautiful to look at and close to places we enjoy for a pre-concert meal. Pews aren't incredibly comfortable, so bring a pillow!

Absolutely beautiful venue. Visited to listen to Ottawa Pops Orchestra and was amazed at the acoustics. This is an old church with beautiful wood details. The pews are very well cared for and the organ is so impressive. This building is perfect for listening to live music!

Excellent experience! I went with my 2 aunts and my best friend. It was spectacular. The music was powerful and the musicians were so talented. I would highly recommend. It runs a little bit longer than an hour, so if you have a dinner reservation afterwards allocate an extra 15 minutes. I will definitely attend another performance.

Absolutely beautiful, the lighting and sound were amazing

The flamenco concert was very nice. The venue was great well organized. We just wish that it was a little bit longer, 1 hour exactly. I find was too short when the artist's finished, the lights were turned on and they left, while people were giving them a standing ovation. Just found it strange.

A quiet and charming little town—perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway. Peaceful streets, lovely scenery, and a slower pace of life.

I recently saw "Elf the Musical" here and it was a fabulous show. Check out the shows here as they are always fun and well done. A canteen is set up at the shows for hot and cold drinks, and snacks.

A great and a peaceful city.

I entered the building briefly with a friend of mine and we were greeted with a rather rude and distasteful order by a member of the staff to ‘get out.’ This being a city hall and public entity, I feel as though I have been slighted by the municipality and hope in the near future this will be addressed properly as this town deserves much better representation.

We hired Carley to photograph our intimate wedding near Ottawa and she was absolutely fantastic! She had a great eye for shots and was very proactive, for example adjusting decor for a better photo. We were really impressed with her professionalism and her photography style. Her pricing was very reasonable too. The pictures are everything we hoped for and we'd definitely recommend!

Carley is exceptionally talented and easy to work with. She is the perfect mix of friendly, professional, and focused and was able to truly capture the excitement, love, and magic of our wedding day in her photos. Neither my husband or I enjoy taking photos and often feel awkward posing, but Carley made the whole experience easy and enjoyable and captured numerous candid moments between the two of us that felt true to who we are. She delivered thirty breathtaking photos within 72 hours of our wedding, and followed up with the full gallery within six weeks. I would highly recommend Carley to all future brides.

This review is super late mostly because it’s hard to compose my thoughts of how amazing Carley is. From the moment we met her we loved her - she’s effortlessly cool and chill, but also on the ball, organized and professional. We were nervous for our engagement photos as neither of us had ever had professional photos taken before - her personality is so fun and she made us feel at ease right away. We had the best time shooting with her and stayed until after dark, laughing away both at her jokes and her excited squeals of joy from behind the camera.
Throughout the process she was so quick and helpful through email - we never worried about anything with her.
On the day her smiley face was a calming presence. She seamlessly fit in and captured all the best moments as we got ready. I felt stressed as we ended up being late leaving the hotel and Carley was the one person I texted and she instantly made me feel less panicked. Despite being behind schedule she rolled with the punches, worked her magic, and somehow we ended up being back on schedule and stepped into cocktail hour right on time! Her photos are so beautiful - we adore how she candidly captured all of our friends and family the most. There’s so much love in every photo, with bright vivid colours and perfect composition. We are still so thrilled that we hired Carley as our wedding photographer and will treasure her photos always!

Overall the service was very good, but the hotel itself is much older and dated than it appears on the website. There are some 'PROS' - the location is excellent, the pool and hot tub were clean - although the pool is incredibly cold. The size of the rooms are nice for a family - lots of room to spread out. The carpet in the elevator is really dirty. The carpets and furniture in the room weren't clean either. The TV was really old - the bedding was old and didn't feel fresh - the kitchen was a nice to have but the appliances are from the 80's, and is not well appointed - no dishrags, no paper towels, no oven mitts, no baking trays, no utensils beyond a few pieces of cutlery, no coffee (had to ask), no salt and pepper... everything seems to be a 'request if you need it' model... no extra roll of toilet paper - had to call down and ask for some and was given one roll and told to ask for more if needed - ONE sheet of the notepad paper - if more needed, call and ask... I felt like we were on rations the entire time. Either they have had a lot of theft, are broke or just really cheap - my biggest recommendation to the management - replace the carpets for proper, hygienic flooring - and if not have them professionally cleaned - and replace the bedding - especially the pillow shams. I would recommend for location - but take your own pillows and don't expect to cook in the kitchen.

Rooms are clean. They come with a separate bedroom and living area, with a fully stocked kitchenette (fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffeemaker and kettle, along with plates, cutlery, glasses and cookware).

The pool is lovely and comes with a hot tub.

It is right near a tonne of food places and a Dollarama is literally around the corner. There're plenty of interesting places to see as well.

Is also pet friendly. My cats like it here.

For a three star hotel the service staff were amazing in customer service we found. The double bed that my husband and I were on was hard. Pillows very small. The teens had there own single beds and they found it very comfortable. The beds felt clean but I did find a pill under the dresser when I was plugging in my charger. The shower pressure was nice but the tub drain was bad and water fill to my ankles. The soap was in a dispenser and no label on which was what. The pool looked very clean and the hot tub was very hot. We didn't take advantage and we were sad we didn't have enough time to take a dip from our original plans. For three star hotel it was pretty good. Also there was McDonald across the street which was pretty for hungry teens at 1am.

Loved the location and service. Pool was well kept, hot tub was being tested when we stayed, but the sauna worked well.

Rooms were good but dated with full amenities, pans, silverware, the only thing I would have preferred is a few more essentials like a scrub, actual dish soap, and a few other things. Given the locale and the well kept property it was worth it.

Everything was awesome. Rooms were clean and everything worked as it should. 10/10 location right downtown. Reasonable prices. Gia at the front desk treated me and my elderly grandfather really well, she went above and beyond with recommendations and such to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible. Thank you Gia!! Ottawa was truly a slice, we'll be back soon.

We had Catered Affairs cater our wedding in June and everything was fantastic!!! From first contact Natalie & Nicole went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly on our wedding day! We ordered appetizers, buffet dinner, desert and a late night snack and all meals were delicious!! Our wedding guests are still talking about how amazing the food was!! I highly recommend them as everything was perfect!!!

We ordered the Catered Affairs Easter dinner for 8 and it was AMAZING. Everyone enjoyed it. The flavours were wonderful. And it sure was nice not to have to carve a turkey and deal with the bones! We've had the FarmBoy version in the past and Catered Affairs was far superior.

I had heard nothing but great things about Catered Affairs, so I hired them for my backyard wedding without even trying the food. Everything was amazing! The food was excellent, the staff setting up were very friendly and professional. The communication with Nicole was also great! She came and did a walk through before the wedding to ensure a smooth function. I definitely recommend them to anyone! Would hire again.

Highly recommend Catered Affairs. We ordered the service for a turkey dinner luncheon at our shop in kemptville for Christmas. The food was 10/10. So delicious. Like a homemade meal

Im surprised by all the bad/1 star references. The room/studio was hospital clean, the bed very comfortable and we had everything you need. The location was very central (walking distance to the World Heritage locks, market, historical buildings). Yes, the price is a bit on the high side and yes you see strange people outside, but we never felt unsafe.

I had a family stay at this hotel recently. It was weel enjoyed. The host was very accommodating with requests and resolving issues. The restaurant experience downstairs was the best we had during our stay in Ottawa. It is a must try for all. Overall, I will recommend CDQI as a good option.

Booked the Mega Deluxe 2 double bed studio for four nights but there was nothing mega deluxe about the studio we stayed in!

No reception desk at hotel and details of floor number were not provided with booking information so had to ask cleaning staff to direct us to the room we were staying in. Also, had to be constantly careful with the top step to level one (there is no internal lift/elevator) as the rise is much higher than normal/safe - it's really quite dangerous and I'd be surprised if it actually complies with building standards!

Building air conditioning is not working so an in-room air conditioning unit with a vent tube going out through a window has been installed (no instruction manual provided - had to find it online) but with outside temperatures in the low 30s every day we had to operate the air conditioner 24/7 just to try and keep the room at a comfortable 23C-24C (on really hot days the room temperature didn't drop below 26C even at night). The unit always ran with the fan on high (we couldn't get it to use lower fan speed unless we set the temperature to +26C) which meant we couldn't watch television while the unit was on and we had to use ear plugs to be able to sleep at night.

Television remote wouldn't operate TV - also no instruction manual so had to find it online and reset TV to get it working.

No tea/coffee making provisions (or coffee machine), no face tissues, no kitchen/tea towels, no face washers, dishes from previous guests left on sink, filter for stovetop rangehood exhaust fan is filthy, no water jug to use in refrigerator, IKEA saucepans not assembled (ie, handles not fitted to saucepans and knobs not fitted to lids).

Exhaust fan in bathroom doesn't work and the internal security door latch is broken.

Gaps around entry door are so large that an annoying amount of really bright light shines into the room at night from the corridor outside - had to use pillows each night to reduce the amount of light shining in from under the door.

That said, the location was very convenient/central, the hand/bath towels were clean, the beds/pillows were comfortable and the sheets and bedding were clean.

This “hotel” is overpriced. Included in my room rate was a $9 RESORT FEE and $30 for cleaning. This was not a hotel or a resort? There was no one on site. The room was clean and that was the only redeeming quality. We had to ask for another bath towel which was delivered. You had to be an IT expert to watch TV. There were no directions and we could not watch any news station? Most of the programs had to be subscribed to?The shower gel was watered down and not sufficient to bathe. We had to use the hand soap?
The AC shuts down after some time and has to be turned on hourly?

No smoke detector. Toilet didn’t work and they didn’t get a plumber and said it would be fixed the following day only to offer us a room at nearly 9pm on another floor in the walk up. Exhaust fan in bathroom did nothing. Shower water was not controllable and scalding hot. Exhaust in range hood did not exhaust anywhere which is illegal and a fire hazard. The top step of the stairs coming from the sidewalk were not to code as the top step was an inch and a half higher which is extremely dangerous. I would never stay there again. There was supposed to be quiet time and the floor above was having a loud party with music. The only thing good about it was the location to the Byward Market. Beware of staying here.

We are so thrilled with our photos and with our experience with David and his team at Cesoir Studios. Everything from start to finish was wonderful. David and Chris took the time to understand what we wanted and they totally delivered. We had so much fun working with them on the big day. They gave great direction, kept us organized, and were so creative. David even went out of his way to make sure we got this special, spur-of-the-moment shot with an elk! The photos are stunning. They captured so many moments beautifully; we can't stop looking at them. We would 100% recommend them to other couples. Do yourself a favor and hire them!
