Came here for my partner’s birthday and had a great experience. Only one staff member was on the floor, but he was incredibly attentive and friendly throughout the evening.

Although our food was delayed due to a kitchen mix-up, the staff handled it quickly and graciously. They went above and beyond to make up for the inconvenience, which we truly appreciated.

As for the food, it was delicious. I highly recommend the salmon (sorry don’t remember the exact name) - sauce was so tasty. The meat in the beef bourguignon was also good, but kind of dry..

Overall, it was a lovely night. I definitely recommend this place if you’re looking to treat yourself and your partner to a nice dinner!

I loved the ambiance. Staff was nice. Maison Selby is definitely a hidden gem in Toronto—quite literally, since the location is a bit tucked away and not the easiest to find. It’s off the beaten path, and unless you’re familiar with the area, you’ll likely need to grab an Uber. Parking seems limited, and it’s not particularly close to a subway station, so getting there can be a bit of a trek. That said, once you arrive, the experience is worth it.

The standout for me was the ambiance. The space is beautifully designed, intimate and lovely and has a really special energy that makes it feel like more than just another restaurant. It’s the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to linger a little longer over your meal.

The food was very good, thoughtfully prepared, and flavorful—clearly some care went into both the menu and presentation. While the service wasn’t flawless, it was fine enough and didn’t detract too much from the evening. The staff got the job done, though there’s definitely room for a bit more attentiveness.

Overall, Maison Selby is a spot I’d return to. The ambiance alone makes it memorable, and paired with good food, it’s an experience worth repeating despite the minor inconveniences of location and parking.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming vibe that set the tone for a great evening. The service stood out right away—especially our server, Liloo. She was kind, attentive, and really knew the menu. Her recommendations were thoughtful and helped us enjoy each dish even more. The chefs deserve credit too—the food looked beautiful and tasted just as good. The whole front-of-house team made us feel comfortable and taken care of the entire night.

Out of the drinks, the Pineapple Mule was the winner. It had a nice mix of ginger, soda, lime, and pineapple—refreshing and balanced. The Raspberry Pepper Mojito, though, didn’t have much flavour and was a bit of a letdown. The Aperol Spritz was light and dry, with a bitter finish. It’s more for people who like the taste of rosé wine and their cocktails on the less sweet side.

The appetizers were a strong start. The escargot was one of the best things we had—rich, buttery, and perfect with the baguette. The French onion soup was full of flavour, warm and comforting, though it could’ve used a bit more caramelized onion. The beef tartare was also a surprise hit—bold and unique, with the Dijon, quail egg, and pickled herring adding a lot of flavour.

For mains, the beef bourguignon was hearty and satisfying. The beef was tender, the mashed potatoes were creamy, and the veggies added a nice texture. A slightly more pronounced red wine taste would have made the stew perfect, but it was still excellent. The cod basquaise, on the other hand, was just okay. The fish was cooked well, but the broth didn’t have much flavour and didn’t quite match the quality of everything else. The broth definitely needed more time to absorb its flavour.

Dessert ended things on a quieter note. The crème brûlée was fine, but nothing special. The texture was okay, and the strawberries added a nice touch, but it felt more like a dessert from a casual spot rather than a fine dining place.

Overall, this was a great experience. The food, service, and atmosphere all came together to make the night special. Even with a few misses, it exceeded our expectations. We’re excited to come back.

The space felt warm and charming. Staff was attentive and friendly.

• Beef tartare (off-menu): bold with layers of flavour. The pickled herring added just the right hit.

• Duck liver parfait (off-menu): very creamy, buttery, and smooth. It had me saying, “Yup, we’re definitely coming back.”

• Sweet green pea tartine: fresh but a bit too carb-heavy for me after the tartare and parfait. And the poached egg was slightly overcooked.

• Fennel salad: very light. The lemon vinaigrette and the anchovy added a nice kick and umami.

• Artichoke barigoule: rich, salty, creamy and tangy in all the right ways.

• Strip loin steak: cooked just right to medium rare. The French onion baked potato was yum!!

• Dessert was a little simple and not that special, imo.

Even with a couple of dishes that didn’t totally wow, the overall experience exceeded expectations so we’ll definitely be back.

Great place for a fancy meal. Be prepared to spend money, but know that the price is with it. Food is delicious and there is a good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The menu is simple but innovative. Choices are healthy and varied. Drop by for a meal or drinks. Really like the decor and keeping with the "Maison" motif.

Sara did mine and my sister hair for my wedding this past weekend 06-16-2024 and she did an amazing job!! My hair was exactly as I pictured it! She tweaked what I wanted and was super sweet about it. During the second trial, she made all the necessary adjustments and fine-tuned everything to my liking, then flawlessly recreated the same look for my wedding day. In the end, she did a fantastic job, ensuring I looked beautiful on my special day. Sara and her team did a great job with my bridesmaids and me; our makeup lasted all day, and while it took a while, it was worth it.

After struggling to find someone to do my makeup and hair for my wedding, I found Sara online. I reached out to her and she got back to me with details about when she was available and pricing. Her booking process was refreshingly professional and easy. I really enjoyed the makeup and hair trial with her. She travelled to our location at Elora Mill Hotel. Our wedding was an elopement and without bridesmaids there wasn't a lot of bustle. Spending those hours getting ready with Sara was like spending time with an old friend. She is so lovely. She did an amazing job on my makeup and hair. It was raining that morning so humidity was high. I have fine limp hair and it doesn't stay in place well. Sara made sure that it did. The makeup and hair lasted the entire day even with the humidity! From the touch up kit that she gave me I only needed to touch up my lipstick a little after drinking hot tea. The Elora Mill Spa had moved up my appointment by 15 minutes cutting my time short with Sara. She graciously took it in stride and had me ready on time. Easy experience from booking through to the artist showing up on site, and I loved how I could upload my inspiration photos prior to the appointment. Kay did my floral dress and fresh makeup, and Ekaterina did my green dress and pink extensions. Both were great and I was so pleased with the final results!

My artist was Sobia. She did my makeup for my wedding. She was just amazing and very friendly. She clearly understood the vision I had in mind for my wedding look and it turned out very beautiful. I am blown away in the best way possible by Rebecca. I had a bad experience with another MUA for a bridal trial, and I was super worried I wouldn't be able to find a MUA for my upcoming wedding.

I contacted Rebecca, who was responsive right away, was super lovely, accepted my request for a phone call where I could ask her questions, and booked my bridal trial with her. She was super lovely, taking the time to understand my wants, and asked me for inspiration looks so she can really grasp what I wanted to look like for my special day. Of course I had to book her for my wedding!

The other thing I really love about her talent is that she is able to give you an almost air-brushed makeup look, and she doesn't have a heavy hand, which is super important! I was able to feel my skin, and never felt cakey.

During the whole process she was super organized, creating a makeup chart for me during our bridal trial so the day-of would go smoothly. She was punctual (arriving earlier for set up than her original ETA which was fantastic), responsible, compassionate, and the funniest story teller.

The makeup she did for me during our trial was exactly what I got for my wedding day (see photos of trial and day-of). Rebecca also made sure to shimmer me up in my dress before I went off to do my first look. I truly couldn't have picked a better person to do my makeup, and I am hoping to work with her again in the future 🥰

I got my bridal makeup done by Rebecca a month ago, and I was very pleased with the service. Rebecca was very patient during the booking, the trial, and during the wedding day, she was very flexible with the booking because we had to reschedule due to covid. Malaparte is an intimate yet exquisite fine dining establishment. We had the pleasure of having our annual work Christmas party here and they did not disappoint in the slightest. Friendly and quick service, always making sure we had food in our mouth and a drink in our hands. The team was excellent and the food was delicious. The views of the city are phenomenal and the rooftop view of the CN tower was spectacular. I would recommend any business or group to host an event here. I can’t wait to be back next year. Thank you to all of the hard working staff for putting on a night to remember. We truly do appreciate it.

Lovely venue! We experienced a wedding here and the views of the city are great. The spot in front of the CNE Tower is nice in the day or night. Staff were attentive, drinks were great and food was good. I can't want to come back here to have a casual day out.

Beautiful small venue to have a wedding. Doesn't need much decorating. The views are very nice with clear shots of the CN tower. It can get windy here in the fall time. The in-house dj was one of the best with great taste in music for the appropriate crowd and smooth transitions. The food was also very good - no issues there as well. Recommend for events of 130ish people.

Very good catering venue! Workplace party functions, different business organizations and marriages are popular booking options here. Loved working in the laid back kitchen with good chefs.

The views are 5 stars plus here, amazing skyline views from the balcony. I’ve been a couple times now for business related events, service and food had been good both times. For a catered venue in the city I’d recommend for sure

Malika did my bridal hair and makeup for my wedding on 17th June. She was so professional and flexible, gave me the exact look I wanted and added her insights very gently. She was quick and creative and I am still getting incredible compliments from all the guests ! She made it an enjoyable and fulfilling experience, would highly recommend!

Malika and her team did both hair and makeup for me and my entire bridal party and I couldn’t have been more thrilled with her work! I don’t tend to wear a lot of makeup normally and really wanted to look like myself but enhanced. I was referred to Sam @ Man About Town by my FIL. I wish I had visited them sooner. I wasted 2 weeks searching for the right suit around Toronto.

Sam, as nice as he is, showed me 4 beautiful suits in my budget within minutes of walking through the door. I already had a problem - I couldn't decide between them. Being that it was my first time buying a suit in a long time, he really took his time with me to go over the different options. He quickly helped me to land on a suit that I had never felt so comfortable in. A suit that I’m confident will last for years to come. Not to mention, at a fraction of the price that you would find in a mall, or similar fine men’s clothing store.

Matt and Nadav absolutely killed it with our wedding photos. Our day went so smoothly and we have them in part to thank for it. Every moment was captured beautifully, from the quiet moments getting ready, to first looks, and whole bridal party and family photos and of course the ceremony and reception! We were able to re-live every moment of the day looking back through our photos and we couldn’t be happier!

We couldn't have asked for a better photographer! Nadav and his team were amazing to work with. From our engagement shoot to our wedding day, we were so impressed with his work. He always made us feel comfortable and at ease. The final product turned out better than we ever expected, capturing every special moment. We can't thank Nadav and his team enough!

$22 dollars for this , it’s even smaller in person. Charging the same price as a sit down restraunt for half the size is insane , butter chicken was cold . I’m really upset as I used to love coming here but it’s just daylight robbery and for the quality it’s definetly not worth it

I have been coming here for years for lunch as I work in the area and this location is basically connected to the subway. Recently I've tried out the breakfast buffet & have been going over the last few months. There are usually many options to choose from. It is very expensive though and I wouldn't say it's worth it but if you want a full meaI quickly, it's a good stop. After they weigh the meal its either equivalent or more expensive than a sit down restaurant. I started getting the breakfast plate instead and I've been pretty disappointed. One day I'll have a nice portion and then the next day I'll get half the amount and the worst pieces of bacon/sausage... Maybe because it's slightly cheaper to get the plate instead of the same items in the buffet. Anyway, I'm not happy with the staff/service over the last few months so after over 5 years, I will no longer be coming here :(

Over almost 10 months of fittings and alterations, she was there every step of the way—patient, supportive, and incredibly talented. The consultant was kind, listened to what I liked, walked me around the store and let me choose things in my budget.

Because you can't see what dresses they carry online before you go in, I a made a list of dresses I liked from the designers they do carry. She took the time to go through them and find which ones she had in store or similar styles.

Although I did not find my dress here, I would recommend it.

I first came to Mariana’s bridal in November, feeling uninspired after trying on some dresses and just not feeling like myself in any of them. Here, I ended up liking half of two different dresses (each) and Marianna came up with the idea to both of them on at the same time and showed me how she could blend the two together to get exactly what I wanted. We had a 2 appointments to make sure the fit was right and then the length. (Can’t give away too many details since the day hasn’t come yet) Today, I picked up my custom dress and I LOVE it. I’m so happy with the finished product, the ladies here are all wonderful, and it’s been a really great experience from beginning to end. Thank you!

We had such a wonderful experience here! The venue was absolutely beautiful and made our day feel so special. The photographer was not only talented but also super sweet, which made us feel comfortable and enjoy every moment. The makeup artist was very professional and did an amazing job, making me feel confident and radiant. Everything came together perfectly, and we couldn’t be happier. Highly recommend!

This place was perfect for our small wedding. We ordered the mini ceremony package, it came with the photographer for one hour, use of the space for 2 hours, all the decorations with florals was set up for us, and it even came with a bouquet and boutonniere. The process was very smooth and straight forward, with the ability to customize the music and the itinerary for the day. There were onsite coordinators that helped run everything smoothly and overall it was an amazing experience! i really loved the florals, and the welcome area for the guests and how it was set up. We had space for some snacks and drinks for our guests afterwards as well.

Rachel and Vivian made sure our wedding was a success. Amazing, efficient, and accommodating service with Markham Wedding Chapel and Gallery One Production. They made our special day beautiful and despite some setbacks, they worked around it and made sure things went as planned. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone that needs a solution for a smaller wedding.

I highly recommend this place! Elaine was amazing and answered my endless emails with great care. The day of our wedding was stress-free and efficiently run.

Our decorations, pre-wedding photoshoot, tea ceremony and wedding ceremony were perfect. I rented my dress from them and there were many staff members on hand that day. I didn't have to worry about a thing!

I walked in and was honestly blown away the dresses are stunning. This is the place for a Quinceañera, Sweet 16, prom dress, and even mother of the bride dresses hands down, like each one is its own little masterpiece. The staff were super sweet and made me feel comfortable right away. Just a really warm, beautiful place.

This is our second year buying a prom dress from Marla’s. Last year we were so impressed with their quality, that we visited their site again this year and at first did not see what we were looking for. So we looked at other sites. HUGE mistake. Long story short, we were scammed by another site online and in a last ditch effort, went back to Marla’s site with our fingers crossed. Wouldn’t you know, they had the EXACT dress from the scam website. By now it was approximately 2-1/2 weeks before prom 😱! I called Marla’s customer service and explained our story of the scam and how we found the same dress at Marla’s…and how could we get the dress here in time for prom! The Marla’s rep was so kind, and with express shipping, said she would personally ensure the dress would arrive in 10 business days, at least 4 days before prom, at the latest. I quickly placed the order and immediately tracking began! Wouldn’t you know, instead of the dress arriving 4 days before prom, it ends up arriving in about FIVE DAYS! The dress was stunning quality and exactly what we were looking for. I cannot recommend Marla’s fashions enough!!

I left a review previously because I was told that if I do I’d get the garment bag for free. I paid $10 extra online just to get the bag so I asked if I could get back that money since I’m leaving a review. Makes sense right. Well now they say because I purchased it online they will ask their online manager to give me a store credit for $10 if I qualify. That doesn’t make sense to me. Store credit for some dress I paid over $500 for that my daughter will never wear again. Plus I won’t even consider coming back just because of this. Yeah $10. If the bag is supposed to be $50 but I paid $10 extra just to get it. Why not just refund me the $10 I spent. Especially since I was leaving a review for the reason you asked me to.

So with that being said. Take these reviews for whatever they are. Bribery for a bag. Thx for my daughter’s prom dress.

We got married on the 8th of August at Paradise banquet hall in Vaughan. Vinny made a wonderful job officiating our wedding. The way she told our story -- how we met and how it all lead to this event was so touching and authentic. Vinnie was the best! So helpful and professional. When we first met, she was so friendly and helpful. When we hired Vinnie, she was so organized and even sent us an entire package of materials with different ceremony templates and helpful resources. We were totally impressed and she helped us customize/personalize our ceremony completely. Then on the day of, she was perfectly on time and incredibly flexible. When things outside our control happened in the ceremony (elements not being set up by other parties, and bees swarming us outside) she perfectly transitioned as if nothing happened. When we made last minute changes the day before, she was on top of it and executed perfectly. It’s that level of expertise you need for your ceremony. No one attending even knew the difference or noticed, because she was just that smooth. Thank you Vinnie for joining us for life.

Massey Hall is a beautiful venue. I went there to see Jessie Murph (amazing show, by the way), and the experience was incredible. The hall itself looks magnificent, more of a theatre vibe than a typical concert venue, which makes it really unique and elegant.

There are plenty of seats, and depending on the artist, tickets for seats can actually be cheaper than pit tickets. The pit itself had a lot of room, and it didn’t look to jammed up or overcrowded like some other venues. Just a heads-up though: there are a lot of stairs. Our artist had two bars where you can buy drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic) and snacks which is on the top level (3rd floor) and one in the basement where you could also buy merch so be prepared for some long flights of stairs 😅. Overall, it was comfortable, organized, and such a great place to enjoy live music.

Definitely recommend seeing a show here if you get the chance!

Saw Japanese Breakfast at Massey Hall for my first visit, and it didn’t disappoint. The sound quality was incredible - crisp and clear. Honestly, I don’t think there’s a bad seat in the place. The venue has so much character, and the atmosphere was amazing. Already looking forward to going back.

Incredible and valuable piece of historical architecture. I sat in third balcony which we supposed to get there through old fashion none standard stairs and seats were close to each others. Love the vibe of the space but in comparison with modern architecture maybe a little far from requirements.

Fantastic vintage hall. Accoustics were phenomenal. The new bar area was roomy and efficient, staff was courteous and helpful. We sat in obstructed at the top. I would never recommend those seats as you couldn’t see the stage. Not good.

Even with its shortcomings, Massey Hall is great. They recently renovated and it still looks lovely. I like how there's a downstairs bar and merch area that's big enough for preshow guests to get what they need. The space is large and at the floor level not crowded. Excellent sound. The downsides are the seats are definitely small, some are obstructed by pillars and others are totally obstructed by speakers. Sit centrally and you'll probably be in good shape. There's a dedicated accessibility entrance as well which is nice to see for those who need it. I've enjoyed both performances I've seen here and look forward to coming back.

Maximum DJ was really great from start to end. Rod is so nice and relaxed but detailed and always open to discussing more. The website is really helpful in getting organized and confirming all the right information. Keith was our DJ at our wedding. He was so lovely and relaxed and really skilled at switching between different genres including some 90s and 2000s millennial dance songs, Latin music, and those classic wedding songs. He kept our dance floor going all night for a pretty diverse crowd. Keith also helped keep a smooth schedule between our venue and the MCs. We received a lot of compliments from our guests! Thank you!

Maximum Music was fantastic, and very responsive before and after booking with them. Our DJ, JB was absolutely fantastic! It was a true pleasure having him be part of our big day. He kept the dance floor lively and fun all night long. He stayed in touch with us throughout the evening, and it was genuinely lovely chatting with him.

Thank you to Rod & DJ Gary for accommodating our wedding playlists and creating memorable moments on the dance floor. The team was detail oriented, laid back and accommodating. They even helped musicians with performances and the officiant and emcee with speeches. Would definitely recommend.

We had a great experience working with Maximum Music for our wedding at the Toronto Botanical Gardens. Rod was friendly and easy to work with. Rod has great automation in place to make sure that no milestones are missed which was especially helpful as we were managing our own wedding planning.

Randy was our DJ for the night and he was fantastic. The dance floor was full from when he started to when we had to close at 12:30pm , really the only negative aspect of our wedding was that we couldn't keep dancing all night. The energy was high and the vibes were great thanks to DJ Randy.
